I'm not so keen on the Aziraphale was drugged/brainwashed/miracled by the Metatron into accepting the job in heaven, if only because I think that decision is entirely in character for Aziraphale. Of course he's going to jump at the chance to be accepted back into the fold of heaven, especially if this time, he can have Crowley by his side. Obviously, he doesn't realize why that would never work, because he's currently on a character arc setting him toward that realization.
