Where Remus is dead, and Roman wants to find his killer cause he knows he was killed but the police issued it a suicide. Then one day Roman finds the murder weapon! (Remus' own dagger) and now Roman can see Remus who is bound to the dagger!

Cryptid/Ghost Hunter Remus and Creature Roman AU! Roman is a huge fuzzy creature living in a dilapidated estate deep in the woods, when one day Remus stumbles upon it and decides it's the perfect place to investigate.

Sugar Baby Remus Big Celebrity Roman AU! Just as it says, Remus is the older brother who is the sugar baby to younger brother movie star/singer Roman.

Ghost Soulmate YouTuber Remus AU! Everyone is born with a marking of their soulmate, it turns up when you turn 18, Remus however doesn't get one, until he does a ritual in a graveyard For The Views and ends up accidentally summoning Roman -who also doesn't have a soulmark and is very salty that he died without one- but neither of them notice at first that theirs show up when Roman is awoken, and is now bound to Remus who gets Roman to do things to get him more Views.

Reaper AU! Based on the TV Show Reaper, Remus' parents sold his soul to the devil before he was born now on his 21st birthday he has to hunt down escaped souls from Hell.

Pushing Daisies AU! Again based on the TV show of the same name. Roman has the gift to bring back the dead, and if it exceeds one minute the person stays alive but something of equal value nearby dies. Remus is obviously in the role of Chuck.

Lisa Frankenstein AU! This one, kinda speaks for itself through the name, I also have not fleshed it out all the way yet, except that Remus is in the role of Lisa, Roman is in the role of The Creature and Patton is in the role of Taffy. Will update when necessary.

I have thought of an Intruality AU for this moodboard that I wanna do more of. So maybe!

Name: Nightshade (Host: Nightmare, renamed from Ultraviolet) Gender/Pronouns: Male, He/Him Age: 23? (Going off of Fresh’s estimated age on Fandom and making him a year younger than him) Sexuality: Aro/Ace Universe: Dreamtale (Parasite origins are unknown) A fusion between Fresh and Passive Nightmare that goes on wacky adventures with their “brother” Dream.

BACKSTORY

A Fresh Parasite without a host was looking desperately for someone to latch onto. It found its way into Dreamtale and hoped to latch onto Nightmare, a Sans known to be Negativity Incarnate and a near unstoppable being. However, this fails when upon entering the AU, it accidentally latches onto Passive Nightmare instead. This results in the creation of Nightshade, who didn’t even expect to be created. Having no other choice and being encountered by Dream, the parasite continued to act like Dream’s brother and basically be a “Cooler Nightmare” until it could leave and find its target. However, it ended up growing attached to this AU and specifically Dream, so it eventually abandoned this mission.

ARRIVAL OF KING SCORPIUS (NEW)

During one of their trips around the Multiverse, Nightshade was suddenly knocked out by members working under a variant of Nightmare, King Scorpius, followed by Dream. They were locked up and left to become sources of the king’s negative energy, where they would grow hopeless and perish in the dungeons. However, while Dream was too scared to fight back, Nightshade broke out of his cell and retaliated, looking for his brother. As he searched, he was stopped by two guards, and while he at first tried to talk with them which eventually resorted to throwing hands, he was beaten down and eventually been dusted. Thankfully, his parasite was able to escape and slip into another cell, and luck was on his side, as the cell he entered contained a very familiar face…Corrupted Nightmare from another Dreamtale.

CORRUPT FORM

At some point after being captured and having his host body destroyed, Nightshade found and finally took over his original target, Corrupt Nightmare. This form is a lot more prone to violence and killing to get its way while Nightshade held back punches and refused to resort to murder. Has similar likings and did-likings as Nightshade, and his relationship with Dream is unknown as the two are usually separate, C!NS choosing to stay away from him. The only time he worked with and stayed around Dream was during their escape from King Scorpius’ castle, in which C!NS helped Dream out just because his helplessness and confusion reminded him of what he just felt moments ago.

Welcome to the revamped DislikedVerse, aka the Disliked Ships AU. This is in no way meant to be a platform for hate, it's just an excuse for me to make some cute fankids for MLP ships I don't particularly care about.

Anyway this is Andromeda, the daughter of Twilight Sparkle and Spike the dragon. I adopted her design from OpalescentArtist on DA before she disappeared off the face of the Earth long ago. She was accidentally created via magic which means that they didn't...you know.

Andromeda was 'born' during a period of time when Twilight was staying in the Crystal Empire to help Shining Armor care for his new daughter. While staying there, she and Spike ended up discovering the Magic Mirror, an old artifact that could create a foal if two beings that loved each other stood in front of it. The mirror sensed the familial-type love that Twilight and Spike felt for each other, and out tumbled a little dragon-pony hybrid foal. Once everyone had calmed down and had figured out what had just happened, Twilight's maternal instincts kicked in and she decided to keep the strange little foal. Spike was still a young dragon at the time, having not even gone through the molt yet, so he wasn't exactly keen on being the foal's dad when he himself was still a kid. Although he still offered to help care for her if needed.

Andromeda grew up being raised by her mother Twilight and her step-father Flash Sentry, with both of them telling her that she was a foal they adopted (which she technically was in a way). A now older Spike is an active figure in her life, acting as Andromeda's 'uncle'. Andromeda herself is a very sweet and caring mare who is best buds with her cousin Flurry Heart, the two of them being very close in age. She currently doesn't know what she wants to be in life and she's not in any hurry to find out, as being it a hybrid she only has a 50/50 chance of getting a cutie mark.

A former delinquent who had affiliations with a gang, he’s trying to start a new life full of justice but his past as a delinquent keeps sticking to him and his reputation, he quickly hits it off with Mafoka because she’s more kind and understanding about his delinquent past and she sees him beyond that, one day after school he follows Madoka to the Dark Hour as he enters Tartarus and awakens to his Persona and the next day joins S.E.E.S. to protect Madoka more, he takes Madoka’s sacrifice to seal Nyx the hardest after she’s gone.

Text: Oh! Why if it isn’t HIKIKO.

So… guess who made an OMORI x AHiT AU? Yup…

I’ve mentioned it in my ABOUT section, but this AU kind of got revamped since then! The characters align with the original OMORI cast, but they also don’t, if that makes sense? Like, Mu is this AU’s Kel and Hat Kid is Hero, but Hat Kid isn’t Mu’s older sibling.

This whole thing started with the idea of Snatcher as SOMETHING gaining the ability to speak and just… messing with Vanessa lol. I ended up writing a one-shot, in which I desperately tried not to specify who her friends were so I wouldn’t get attached, but obviously that failed :’)

I’ll put some character + world info under the cut!

HIKIKO - OMORI: Age 14.

She’s the embodiment of how Vanessa sees herself, aka canon Vanessa. Usually emotionless, but can become highly emotional at the flip of a switch. Luke is usually the victim of these outbursts.

VAN (VANESSA) - SUNNY: Age 18.

Shut herself in after Luke’s death, and spends most of her time in her room. She only really leaves to use the bathroom, eat, or re-dye her hair (it’s hazel). She’s leaving for college in three days. Used to play the piano.

She thought that she saw Luke giving flowers to Clover, and that he’d been leading her on. In her heartbreak, she accidentally pushed him down the stairs, and he didn’t survive the fall.

LUKE - MARI: Age 14.

In HEADSPACE, Hikiko has chained him to his picnic blanket, though for some reason he doesn’t seem to mind. Somehow, he manages to travel around anyway. In the REAL WORLD, he and Vanessa were supposed to perform a concert, the day he was found buried in the snow. Played the violin.

HAT (HARRIET) - HERO: Headspace age 12, Real World age 16.

Luke’s younger sister. In HEADSPACE, she claims to be a hat-related alien. She has a certain charm that endears her to everyone she meets. In the REAL WORLD, she was the only one who could break up Brie and Maddie’s fights. After her brother died, she sunk into depression, but recovered after a really bad fight with Maddie. Mostly.

BRIE (BRIANNA) - AUBREY: Headspace age 12, Real World age 16.

Brie was the one who most frequently held the braincell. In HEADSPACE, she claims to be a cat-related alien. She carries a cat plush that hits surprisingly hard. In the REAL WORLD, she felt abandoned by everyone after Luke’s death, and ended up joining a cat gang. …Her anger overpowered her logical side.

MADDIE (MADILYN) - KEL: Headspace age 12, Real World age 16.

Has boundless energy, but acts before thinking. In HEADSPACE, she does her best to be a hero whenever she can, although her definition of “hero” is a bit skewed. She gets into a lot of fights with Brie due to their conflicting personalities, but they’re rarely very serious. In the REAL WORLD, she tried to stay positive for everyone else, though Luke’s death affected her more than she liked to admit. (Real Maddie’s never had a full mustache, but she wants one)

CLOVER - BASIL: Headspace age 13(1/2), Real World age 17.

Vanessa’s best friend. She loves botany and photography. In HEADSPACE, she disappeared after seeing a strange photo. In the REAL WORLD, she’s become a recluse like Van, but she does come out sometimes. She’s often harassed by Brie’s gang.

She saw Vanessa push Luke, but convinced herself it was “Something behind her”. Not wanting her friend to get in trouble, she helped move Luke outside into the snow.

SOMETHING:

Vanessa’s SOMETHING is based on Snatcher, and Clover’s is based on Moonjumper (I didn’t design that one yet haha) I think the different versions for each fear will be different too, but I haven’t decided on the fears yet. It follows them around in the REAL WORLD, but just recently infiltrated HEADSPACE.

The rest of the world, both dream and real, is more similar to AHiT than OMORI, especially the dream world. The playground area is Mafia Town but friendlier, probably with many more people than just the Mafia. Subcon is actually pretty boring in this AU, since Snatcher and Vanessa are out of the picture lol, but it replaces Pyrefly Forest. I think Otherworld will be Alpine Skylines? DBS would be in Orange Oasis, and I’m kind of stuck between the DLCs for Last Resort so I might just fuse them. Also, the Neighbor’s Room is the Spaceship :)

RoboRusty AU

RoboRusty V1: Ends up with a revamped model, solar powered and all, and has most of the parts replaced (just the missing or rusty parts), the Twoleg that repaired them might not exactly be one of the original scientists. But this Twoleg gets vacation days and enjoys taking RoboRusty V1 with them. The new fake fur is now a gray tabby design with a rust colored fur heart.

RoboRusty V2: Still doesn't like rainy, foggy, of cloudy weather. Still grabs a piece of prey "for himself" but gives it to one of the medicine cats, Sandstorm, Graystripe, Dustpelt, Longtail(who might be Cloudtail's dad? Oh and Cloudtail is born later in canon), or one of his family members. The medicine cats and rest of the clan accept that he's just basically a plant, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Leafpool join Graystripe in watering RoboRusty V2 from time to time for different reasons. Lionblaze doesn't because he doesn't know how plant stuff works. Squirrelflight went out of her way to find a good rock for RoboRusty V2 to recharge in the sunlight.

RoboRusty V3: Lacks the fun kitten fluff, but still orange. Is nosy and has to poke around everywhere. Must find missing piece of information. Occasionally accidentally wakes Smudge with nighttime ramblings. One day, Smudge and RoboRusty V3 get taken to the barn(partially for research involving Barley). But also because Smudge's owners decided they needed to go to the barn. Barley causes RoboRusty V3 to question himself and his existence, and the beginning of him poking around the Twoleg place for whatever's left of Blood Clan to get answers of whoever the orange fluff ball is.

For future reference, I'll be using their names to differentiate them all.

RoboRusty V1 was renamed to Patch(partially a programming joke from the Twoleg who repaired them).

RoboRusty V2 is Fireheart (because he's an actual member of the clan, and got a proper clan name).

RoboRusty V3 is just Rusty.

Summary: Art supplies and coffee - couple that with a love for black and white film and a handsome barista with a heart shaped smile and you have yourself a love story.

You are a freelancing graphic designer, working on helping your older sister revamp her tea room. Your next door neighbours, Black Pearl, happen to be a very interesting bunch, and one stoic barista in particular, has caught your eye, and you have caught his.  

AUTHOR’S NOTE: This took like 3 months to write. I was empty of inspiration.

Just after graduating with a graphic design degree, your older sister had employed you to design a website for her business. She had also tasked you with making a menu and making and maintaining all social media sites for it, including the Instagram page.

It was a good job to land straight out of university, compared to all your other free-lance jobs.

So you moved out of the apartment you shared with your student friends, into a new one with your sister.

You worked on your laptop in her tea room, sitting at the very back, trying to feel the atmosphere of the place. It was also in close proximity to your sister, so you could always just ask her what she wanted to add or change in the designs you were making. The Tea Room was cosy, albeit a little cramped. It didn’t have any particular theme or colour scheme. It reminded you more of your grandma’s sitting room rather than a place that should be popular with students.

One thing you always liked about Black Pearl that was right next door was that Minseok and Junmyeon knew what they were doing business wise. Junmyeon had a degree in business, while Minseok had a degree in architecture. You never understood how they managed to come up with the idea to run a coffee shop together. Sure, Minseok was an avid coffee lover, but how does one go from being an architect to owning a coffee shop? What is the point in-between the two? You didn’t know, but whatever they were doing- they were doing it right. At least design wise. 

Black Pearl had a clear and modern aesthetic- all subdued off-whites and browns. Pops of colour included the bright neon sign with their name on one wall, and the other were the flowers Yixing brought in every few days.  Their interior was fresh- energising. You didn’t feel like you were about to have tea with your grandma when you sat down; something you felt right now, sitting in your sister’s tea room, thinking about all its faults. 

You were going to help your sister completely redefine her business- starting with the menu and finishing with the interior and exterior of the Tea Room.

You decided to illustrate all the tea’s and cakes for the menu. It had a cute, home-made vibe and allowed you and your sister more creative freedom than simple photographs.

That would take a time to design and then print, and you were going to be busy with it until the end of summer, along with the website you were designing.

Whenever you ran low on energy, you walked next door to Black Pearl and get yourself that sweet, sweet caffeine fix.

On a particularly hot day in late June, you had decided to work in Black Pearl. It was nice to get out of your older sister’s way and have her out of your hair for a short while. With your laptop and your drawing tablet in your bag, you entered the café.  

“Hi Kyungsoo!” You greeted the stoic man standing at the cash register, as he focused his attention at you. His gaze seemed heavy as his almond eyes rested underneath a set of thick brows.

“Can I get a cold brew?” You asked, the inside of Black Pearl was nice and cool thanks to the air conditioning, but outside was scorching in the balmy summer heat. The temperature had left you tired and unmotivated. It seemed to be too hot to function. Even Kyungsoo was wearing a white t-shirt instead of the usual white button up.

“How are the illustrations getting along?” He asked, eyes cast down to the notebook snuggled under your arm.

“Good. Better than expected.” You told him, and he nodded, moving to the jugs on the counter behind him to make your drink. It wasn’t that early in the morning, but the café was empty save for a few patrons. During the summer your little college town was practically empty as the students went home and the halls emptied.

“Maybe your sister has low standards.” Kyungsoo teased you, handing you the refreshingly cold drink. The fact it was highly caffeinated made it even better.

“She is dating Baekhyun.” Sehun muttered from behind Kyungsoo, his tall frame casting a shadow over the smaller man. To that, both you and Kyungsoo laughed, and you had to rest your drink on the counter to stop it from spilling everywhere.

“How are you?” You finally asked him.

“Caffeinated and annoyed.” Kyungsoo did nothing to hide the annoyance that laced his deep, velvety voice.

“What did they do now?” You asked, a smile still forming over your lips.

“What didn’t they do?” He was frowning, eyes darting to glare at Sehun who pouted, feigning innocence.

“Don’t glare at the baby.” He fired back, earning a laugh from you, and another glare from Kyungsoo.

“I’ll leave you to it.” You told both boys as a new wave of customers entered the shop. You picked up your drink and sat down in the corner, far away from prying eyes

By lunchtime the coffee shop was brimming with people again. All the tables were taken, and people were still coming in to get coffee. Outside the sun was shining ferociously, and the streets were empty of people, especially the little alleys off the main routes like the one where Black Pearl stood.

“Did Y/N come around?” Baekhyun asked when he walked through the door with a few cups of iced tea in a cup holder. Today he was dressed in an obnoxiously orange shirt that was twice his size, and Kyungsoo was left wondering how Junmyeon had allowed this as appropriate work attire. Baekhyun handed out the teas to Sehun and Kyungsoo. The tea was wonderfully refreshing, with a hint of citrus. Kyungsoo wondered what Baekhyun had traded with his girlfriend in return. He thought it was probably cold brew or iced latte, since Y/N was running solely on coffee the last few days.

“She came in for a morning coffee.” Sehun told him, not looking up from his phone.

“Have you seen her illustrations?” Baekhyun had been dying to see what you were drawing for a while now, but you remained unyielding and did not let him see until the final product was ready. You and your older sister were still discussing the styles you wanted for the menu and had been going back and forth between designs. She had only decided on one last night.

“No. Why would I?” Kyungsoo answered. He didn’t even bother asking. You had clearly expressed that you were not going to show it to anyone. What was the point of pestering and irritating you, when you would not show them anyway?

“She isn’t letting me see them until the design is finalised.” Baekhyun whined, pouting as he sipped on his drink.

“Maybe if you ask nicely, she will show you.” Sehun prodded, a mischievous spark shone in his eyes.

“No. Her sister is not telling me either.” Baekhyun told them, walking behind the counter, ready to serve the customer who just walked in.

“Tough luck.” Kyungsoo laughed before disappearing at the back of the shop.

 ------------ 

“What are you doing?” Baekhyun exclaimed, walking through the door of the Tea Room, his brown eyes falling on Y/N and her older sister, sitting at the table and taking pictures of the cheesecake and iced tea before them. Jongin and Kyungsoo entered after him, equally confused at what was happening.

“We aren’t open today, so we are starting to take some photos for the Instagram page and the website.” Y/N told them not taking her eyes off of the camera in her hands, as she played around with the settings to get a better photo. Kyungsoo’s eyes fell on the stack of books on the misplaced chair right beside Y/N. All the books had pretty covers. The corners of his lips quirked upwards when he noticed that among the titles were Leaving and Returning, as well as Love and Revelation. Jongdae was going to be going around, beaming when he would find out. He did brag about being the muse for Love and Revelation to them for a solid month after it came out.

“So you need a whole set up?” Jongin laughed, picking up a tea cup, one among many, standing on the surrounding tables. This one was as large as a mug and was a teal colour with a pearlescent sheen to it. Beside it, on a matching plate Y/N had sliced some lemon to add as decoration during the shoot.

“That is why she isn’t showing you anything.” Kyungsoo grumbled, taking the cup from Jongin’s hands.

“She isn’t showing you anything either.” Baekhyun pointed out, his arms wrapped around Y/N’s older sister, a puppy look in his eyes, as he pestered her about something. Y/N wasn’t paying much attention to their antics, already fixing another setup on the table.

“I didn’t ask to see it.” Kyungsoo threw back, before returning his attention to Y/N.

“You can drink that if you want Kyungsoo.” You told him, leaving the set up and reaching for a glass of iced tea that stood beside him, accidentally brushing against his back as you reached around for the tall glass.  None of the tea would go to waste, seeing as your sister had taken the liberty to gather most of it up and use it as samples. Now, anyone who was passing by had drank some of the tea’s you have already photographed. It was a business strategy you and your older sister used to increase people’s interests in the tea shop- along with promoting the revamping you were doing now.

“It’s lavender green tea.” You told him as he rose the cup to his full lips, sipping on the still hot liquid.

“It’s good.” He commented after a few more sips. You gestured for him to sit down at the next clear table, before you brought over some of the cake’s you have been taking pictures of.

“Do you want some pie?” You asked, brining over a slice of plum pie and a slice of cherry pie.

Kyungsoo smiled, his full lips forming a heart as he did so. You could feel your cheeks heat up, but you ignored the fluttering you felt in your stomach, and focused your attention on Kyungsoo, as he began telling you about the girl who tried fliting with Baekhyun before they came here. You were sure your sister would love to hear the story of how her boyfriend managed to get himself out of the tricky situation. When you were behind the counter, you had little space to run.

“So what did he say to her?” You asked, after you found out the girl was trying to ask Baekhyun out to an outdoor cinema hosted by the film and video department of the National Institute of Fine Art.

“My girlfriend loves Audrey Hepburn.” Kyungsoo relayed, delivering the line with such a blank stare and a stoic deep voice your composure broke and you burst out laughing. He laughed with you, eyes darting from you to Baekhyun who was still moping around, following your older sister like a lost puppy.

Jongin had long since taken the liberty to help himself to some tea and cake and was already on his second cheesecake.

“Do you want to go with me?” He asked, leaning closer, his large eyes staring into your own, the smell of coffee fragrant around him, burnt into his skin.

“Where?” You asked, wondering where he wanted to take you. Your heart beat a little faster at his proximity, his large eyes, framed by thick brows were fixated on you. Casually, he reached over for the cup of green tea in front of him, taking a sip, before putting it back down. The clink of china against the wooden table was the only sound between you, before he resumed speaking.

“Open Cinema.” He told you, referring to the place the girl tried to invite Baekhyun out to. A sly smile spread across his plush lips.

“They are playing Schindler’s List tomorrow night.” He continued, watching as your eyes lit up and a smile stretched across your lips.

“Okay. I’ll go with you.” You agreed without a moment’s hesitation, heart pounding at the prospect of going to watch your favourite film, with Kyungsoo to accompany you.

“I’ll pick you up from here.” He informed you, getting up from his chair.

“Late shift is on tomorrow; the film starts after.” He explained, before exiting the tea room, waving a small goodbye on his way out.

You smiled like an idiot, excited at the idea of spending three hours with Kyungsoo, sitting on one blanket, surrounded by the fragrant summer air. 

 ------------- 

You walked through the door of Black Pearl, wearing comfortable trousers and a t-shirt. You had your denim jacket draped over your left arm, holding a picnic blanket in your hand.

“Hey Y/N are you ready?” Kyungsoo asked, leaving the keys to the café with Jongin, before walking towards you. He offered you an iced coffee, and you accepted, before would walked back out into the warm summer night. 

The university owned field was starting to fill up by the time you got there with students, as well as elders, who had all found their spaces, the majority going as close to the canvas screen as they were allowed, crowding in one area of the grassy field. 

Kyungsoo decided to move somewhere a little further, where you could stretch comfortably, without disrupting other viewers.

“This place is good.” He commented when you sat down, smiling at you as the announcers began speaking. 

Soon, the film was rolling, and despite the few people still whispering among each other, the open cinema was pleasantly quiet. 

Throughout the three hour film, Kyungsoo had scooted closer to you, bumping his knees with yours. You stole glances at each other, smiling when you noticed each other looking. From time to time, you could see Kyungsoo wipe away at his eyes, warm tears falling onto his cheeks; the same way yours were falling too. 

By the end of the film, you were leaning your head against Kyungsoo’s shoulder, your hands tangled together, watching the ending scene with burning eyes, tears threatening to spill. 

The film ended, and the audience clapped, before you got up and took your things, ready to go back home. 

 “I had a lovely time. Thank you.” You told him, unwrapping your arm from his.

He smiled at you, his lips formed a heart in the process, and you smiled back at him, eyes shining and alert despite the late hour. You were about to wish him a good night, but he beat you to it, pulling you into his warm embrace. His arms rested against your back and shoulders, warm and steady in the way he held you. You returned the hug, wrapping your arms around his waist.

“What’s that for?” You murmured, breathing in the smell of coffee that refused to fade away.

“After a film like this I think you need it.” He murmured back, before releasing you, giving you one last smile.

“Thank you.” You told him, smiling back.

“Good night.”

“Night.” You turned around, opening the door to your sister’s house, giving him one last glance before you disappeared inside.

“You and Kyungsoo?” Your sister asked, sitting on the kitchen counter as you walked in.

“Maybe.” You told her, your cheeks flushed and your heart still beating erratically in your chest from Kyungsoo’s hug.

“Stay safe kid.” She told you, a cheeky smile on her lips as you walked out of the kitchen. As if getting caught at three in the morning by your sister wasn’t embarrassing enough, you just had to bump into Baekhyun on the way to the bathroom. The mischievous man sent you a wink as he passed you on his way to the kitchen, and you swore that you could hear him mutter something about coming home late under his breath.

You scoffed, before locking the bathroom door and getting into the shower.

“Hey Y/N!” Baekhyun sang when you entered Black Pearl. Jongin had taken one look at you, glancing over Baekhyun to see you, before letting out a giggle. You frowned, but said nothing, not quite understanding why they were behaving strangely today. A few days had gone by since you and Kyungsoo had gone out, and since then, Baekhyun and Chanyeol had their eyes on you, their curious gazes following your every move. Jongin didn’t stare at you as much as the other two did, but he seemed to be nicer the last few days. Not that he wasn’t nice- but it did seem like he was trying harder to make conversation, and he smiled at you even more, if that was even possible.

“Hey! Can I get a cappuccino?” You told Baekhyun, who was standing at the front today.

“Sure.” He said, before turning to Jongin to give him your order.

“How is photography going so far?” Your sister’s boyfriend asked, his puppy eyes begging for an answer. You had been secretive about your progress so far. Your sister had thought it was quite amusing watching Baekhyun and Chanyeol get riled up when you refused to tell them. This week though, she finally decided to let you tell them. Since then they had pestered you less, but they were still incredulous.

“We are almost finished.” You told him, thinking back to the hundred something files that were now stored on a USB stick attached to your keychain. You had finished with the photography and the menu design on the most part. The only thing left was making the rest of the illustrations for the menu. You had dome some of them, but there was still a long way to go.

“How much is she paying you?” Junmyeon entered from the back. Today, he was wearing a suit and tie. Kyungsoo had mentioned that the new branch that had opened needed extra staff, seeing as most days Yixing and Jongdae couldn’t do it on their own. Kyungsoo was about to move to the knew branch, and Minseok was spending his time split between the two. It was touch managing two locations, seeing as all together they had nine staff members, including the two bosses-Minseok and Junmyeon.

“My rate isn’t very high. So far, I am taking $15 an hour, because I am freelancing and just started.” You told him, sipping on your cappuccino. “However many hours I put into this, I will charge.”

“Do you think you can help us with something?” Junmyeon asked, his fingers drumming on the table top.  “I was thinking about business cards and a stamp system. You know, for clients that keep coming back. Something like buy 5 get sixth free.”

You thought for a moment, thinking about when you could fit this in to your busy schedule. There wasn’t much time, but you could try and work on it in between illustrations.

“You will also need to design a stamp. The design isn’t that hard. The stamps will be more expensive. You also have to factor in production and printing costs.” You finally answered, watching as Junmyeon nodded, pondering over what they really needed to make the café more successful.

“He knows. He is a business major.” Baekhyun muttered, playing with his apron.

“That’s why he is stingy.” Jongin laughed, leaning against the coffee press, sipping on an iced tea from your sister’s tea room. You had bartered that for the cappuccino, and Jongin was more than happy about that.

“I feed you!” Junmyeon looked offended, shaking his head at the accusation.

“Irrelevant.” Kyungsoo muttered, walking out of the back.

“Are we ready to leave?” He asked Junmyeon, eyes fixated on his watch, before looking up at you, his lips forming a hears shaped smile as he greeted you.

“Let’s go.” Junmyeon answered, before leading the way out.

“Is he transferring today?” You asked when the door closed behind them. You moved from the register, letting the customer behind you through.

“Yeah. Yixing really needs the extra help.” Jongin told you, preparing a new coffee for their customer. You nodded, sipping on your cappuccino. You wondered how Yixing and Jongdae had managed to keep a café running by themselves, with occasional help from Minseok and Junmyeon.

“Why did Yixing move?” You asked. From what you knew, they all kind of wanted to stay in Black Pearl here, seeing as there was a lot of work being done; especially during term time. Now that business was a little slower, they could afford less staff, but they surely would have to hire someone else to help, or they would have to change up the staff- putting someone else there with Yixing and Jongdae for full time.

“The new branch is closer to his home, so he doesn’t have to take a bus every morning.” Jongin answered, before handing the customer their coffee. This time it was an affogato, and to be honest you were kind of jealous, really craving some vanilla ice cream right now.

Kyungsoo walked into Black Pearl a few days after his transfer, happy to be back at their original location. His shift had ended, so he had decided to come over to find you. It was just his luck that you were sitting at the very back of Black Pearl, a pack of colouring pencils and a set of water colours littered the table you were sitting at, your fingers stained with pencil lead and dried paint.

“Want help?” He asked, smiling at you as he sat down on the opposite chair, twirling a purple colouring pencil in his hand.

“You can tell me if they are good.” You told him, passing over a few pages of finished illustrations. So far you have finished drawing out all the teas and had digitalised and printed them out.

“These are beautiful.” He answered honestly, eyes wide as he scanned over the colourful pictures.

He ran a hand through his short hair absentmindedly, making some strands stick up. You reached over to smooth his hair back out. Kyungsoo smiled, feeling your gentle fingers comb through his hair.

“Do you want help?” He asked again, watching you smile, before you handed him a pad of paper and some pencils.

“You think you can draw some cakes for me?” You asked, handing him a few reference photos.

“I’m not bad at drawing.” He answered sheepishly, picking up the pencils you gave him.

He could feel your eyes on him, warm and precise, scanning him as he drew. He felt the way they lingered on his face, and the way they shyly moved away before he caught you staring. From time to time, a smile stretched across his lips, knowing that you felt the same warm and fuzzy feeling he did. It didn’t take a genius to figure out the reason for your stolen glances, nor the way you bumped your knee with his from time to time, content at the warm feeling between the two of you.

“Can I get that purple?” He asked, causing your head to snap up, before he reached out, hand coming towards your face. At first, you were startled, waiting for what he was about to do, frozen still like a deer in the headlights. Then, to your surprise, he reached behind your ear, pulling the colouring pencil out, before tucking the fallen strand of hair back behind your ear. His knuckles brushed against your cheek as he did so, and he relished in the rosy blush that flowered over your cheeks.

“Do you want to see another film with me?” He asked, hand moving away from your face.

“They are playing Casablanca today.” A knowing smile adorned his face, and his eyes shone softly.

“I’d love to.” You told him, watching as he leaned back in his chair, basking in the warmth of the coffee shop and in the way you looked at him, eyes shining, and cheeks rosy from when he touched you.

You managed to land the same place as last time, this time, watching Casablanca, although incomparable to Schindler’s List, had been very pleasant. There were no tears, and Kyungsoo was much less shy than then. This time, he had pulled her closer early on. He let her rest her head against his shoulder, and from time to time, as the love story progressed, he pressed his lips against her hair, their hands intertwined, sitting on her lap.

Breaking apart at the end of the film was strange. The proximity had felt so natural, the warmth coming off of your body had made Kyungsoo so comfortable, he was sure he could fall asleep at nay moment. Breaking apart felt like waking up from a really good dream, and Kyungsoo felt so light he could be floating.

“I had a great time tonight.” You told him, not quite ready to break apart from him just yet.

“I did too.” He told you, taking a moment to look deep into your eyes, before leaning in.

“Can I kiss you?” He muttered, face so close you could feel the ghost of his lips brush against your own as he spoke.

You nodded, and he closed the space between you, his lips falling firmly against your own. His hands cupped your face, thumbs brushing against the warm skin of your cheeks. His lips moved against yours, and you mirrored his movement, wrapping your arms around his waist, bringing him a little closer. 

Everything about him was warm. His embrace. The way his lips moved against your own. His hands, stroking your face as he looked deep into your eyes, staring into them with his large round eyes, their brown hue warming you up like the cup of coffee you were craving. You had invited him over to the place you shared with your sister. You two were sneaking around in the middle of the night, feeling like rebellious teenagers all over again. 

Kyungsoo liked the way you looked at him, as if this was more exciting than it really was, looking at him as if he was wonderful- matching his gaze as he looked on at you in adoration. He grasped your hand, still covered in pencil lead and stained with watercolour as he let you pull him up to your room, before closing the door

 ----------- 

“Kyungsoo! Do you want tea?” Your sister asked, bringing you out of your unplanned afternoon nap. You rose, watching sleepily as Kyungsoo’s form moved across the shop.

“Sleepy Cinnamon would be great.” He told her, leaning against the counter.

“It does not remove the caffeine from your blood.” She laughed.

“Maybe we should add that to the menu” You muttered, eyeing your laptop, open to the right page of the menu for editing.

“Doesn’t matter.” Kyungsoo waved her off, his deep voice was like velvet, sending a shiver down your spine.

“Hey Y/N! Do you want a tea?” Your sister called out, amusement lacing her voice at the way your half closed eyes gazed at your boyfriend.

“Sleepy Cinnamon.” You muttered, straightening your back.

“Are you going to sleep on the job?” Kyungsoo asked, before walking over to you with both teas.

“Maybe.” You told him, moving the laptop away from you, so that you could see him clearly.

“Are you humming Bryan Adams?”

"Maybe.”

“Everything I do, I do it for you!” He sang softly, making you giggle, and you sister hum along.

You liked the way he lit up when he sang, and the way he laughed awkwardly at the end. You reached out your hand, taking his warm larger one in your own, tangling your fingers together, before laying your head back down, eyes tracing over the lines of Kyungsoo’s face, basking in the way his eyes looked down at you, their brown colour swirling in his irises like fresh coffee that he was so fond of.

“What design do you want on the cards?” You ask him, rising to open a new file on your laptop, ready to start writing down the ideas the boys had come up with. Instead of telling you, Kyungsoo pulled out a couple pieces of paper.

“I drew this.” He told you, sliding the pages your way. “It’s what we are thinking about.”

You looked at the drawing. It was a simple design; the name of their coffee shop at the top, the addresses of both of their locations at the bottom of the card. The boys had written up extra pointers for you, telling you about the colour schemes they were considering, and other ideas, like fonts and the sizing of all the writing. Junmyeon and Minseok had left no stone unturned, having written down their exact wishes, and you knew from speaking with them beforehand, what it was they wanted.

“Little coffee cups?” You laughed, eyeing the simple line drawing of empty white mugs. There were five of them- three on the top, and two at the bottom. The sixth cup was already filled- you could tell by the black colour that filled the centre, with ‘free’ written underneath.

“Why not?” Kyungsoo laughed, looking down at his little drawing.

“They still want the stamp to be a full cup?” You asked, reading through the notes on the side.

Kyungsoo hummed in confirmation, eyes tracing the design for the stamp that Junmyeon made him draw.

“Okay.” You told him, putting the paper’s away into your bag.

The rest of the afternoon was spent in comfortable silence, from time to time, Kyungsoo hummed along to the songs playing through the speakers of your laptop, seeing as your sister did not have any music playing yet.

The summer was drawing to a close, and with it all the work you and your sister had done on the tea room. The company you hired had finished installing the shop sign yesterday, and your sister had Baekhyun help out in repainting the walls white, with the very back wall painted a light yellow. The tables and chairs had stayed the same, but the couches had been changed to teal, and your sister had bought decorative cushions. You had also hanged a chandelier on the main bulb, and then hanged simple white flower shaped lampshades on all the other lights.

The tea room now looked a lot better, and it was much more relaxing to sit around in it.

“Thanks so much for helping!” Your sister called out to her boyfriend, the rest of Black Pearl was sitting around, admiring the newly printed menus that had come in just this morning.

“Baekhyun!” Your sister called out in annoyance after Baekhyun had swooped in kissing her before twirling away to sit with Chanyeol on the new couch. You laughed along, watching as your sister got everyone’s attention.

“Welcome to Lemon Balm!” She called out, rising her flute of champagne, watching gleefully as the boys and their girlfriends toasted along with her. It was a nice moment, almost picture perfect. Yixing’s girlfriend has seemed to read your mind, as she stood at the side with her camera, photographing the event.

“You worked really hard. I’m proud of you.” Kyungsoo whispered behind you, wrapping you up in a back hug.

“Thank you.” You told him, smiling at your sister as she chatted away with your shared friends.

“Kiss! Kiss!” Baekhyun started chanting when he saw you two hugging. Soon enough Chanyeol, Jongdae and Jongin had joined in, creating a ruckus.

You laughed at their antics, eyeing Kyungsoo from the side as he unwrapped himself from you.

“You are making me uncomfortable.” He stated, he sounded serious, and his face has lost its smile in favour of a stoic expression. You however, could see the amused twinkle in his eyes, and you had no doubt his friends had seen it too.

You gave him one last look, before turning him towards you, and pressing a kiss to his lips.

Out of habit, he cupped your face, stroking your cheeks with the pads of his thumbs as he moved his lips against yours purposefully, ignoring the cheers and laughter that erupted around you.

“I love you.” You whispered against his lips when you broke apart.

“I love you too.” He murmured, pressing a kiss into your hair.

I’ve been binge watching Kitchen Nightmares on YouTube all week and I am desperate for an AU. So here are some thoughts. 

First off, I’m imagining a kind of combination of Kitchen Nightmares + Bar Rescue. So maybe BR but with Gordon’s attitude. Keeping with one of my favorite accidental head canons, Mitch went to culinary school instead of joining the CIA. Stiles took that route but a little to the left and became a mixologist. Many years later the two of them are successful, and have started their own show. 

Their restaurant is in New York, and they are co-owners along with Derek and Peter who initially invested to open the restaurant. Well. Derek invested because he wanted to make boyfriend Stiles happy. Peter is just along for the ride. I’m also thinking that maybe it’s some kind of restaurant/hotel set up, which is where the Hales would actually come in. Katrina is also a co-owner, and her and Mitch got married after graduation. 

Mitch runs the kitchen because he thrives in high-stress environments, and Stiles runs the bar. Everyone loves him because he’s charismatic and fun and has lots of flare. Sometimes Derek helps out behind the bar/covers if someone needs to call out or go home early, but he prefers not to be in the spotlight like that. Usually he’s one of the waiters. 

Peter moonlights as the maître d of course, he thinks he’s the only one of them that has any class. But he’s only taken over since Katrina, who was previously running the floor, got pregnant. 

Allison is the sous chef. She’s like the little sister Mitch never had, and the two of them can be heard going off in French at any given point. 

Boyd is possible the saucier. If ever either Mitch or Allison is unavailable he takes over running things, and despite how reserved he seems, he is very good at it. He has a cool and calming presence, and things don’t usually get too overwhelming when he’s around. 

Lydia and Erica are in charge of appearances, since they both have a keen eye for design. Erica is also a.... well. it’s an upscale establishment so bouncer wouldn’t be the right term, but she can and will remove any unruly patrons. Lydia also handles all things legal, making sure all permits and licenses are up to date and everything is up to code. 

Isaac would either be with the girls, or the patissier, I’m not sure yet. I think I like him as part of the design team though, and perhaps a bartender working with Stiles? I’ve been imagining for the show portion of the AU that it’s Erica, Lydia, and Isaac that revamp the restaurants while Mitch and Stiles work on the staff. Maybe Scott could be the patissier? Either way, whoever it ends up being, Allison is gonna get some ribbing from Mitch for getting distracted. 

Given the nature of this Au everyone is going to be aged up a bit. The kids are all between 25-28, Derek is going to have met Stiles in college, but was a Grad student/TA in one of this classes so he’s like 28/29. Mitch and Katrina are somewhere around 28 when she gets pregnant, and about 35 during the show. Peter’s about 40-45. Chris and John are also around, however old the parents of mid-late 20 somethings would be. 

Stiles grew up being Mitch’s test subject, and at some point in his early teens decided he wanted to learn how mix cocktails. Mitch indulged his delinquencies when he turned 21 and supplied the alcohol for Stiles to practice. 

Katrina was working as a waitress when her and Mitch, so naturally they got off to a rocky start. She thought he was just like all the other arrogant condescending culinary students that like to come in and critique every little thing and complain to her like it’s her fault the cook takes shortcuts. It took three attempts getting blown off for him to realize what the issue was, and throw down a challenge to prove her wrong, which she accepted. Turns out that while he is a little bit arrogant and overconfident, he actually has the skills to back it up, and he’s a puppy at heart. He’s been totally gone on her from day one and goes all out when she finally agrees to a date. I mean as all out as a broke college student can go, anyway. 

I feel like the way Stiles and Derek met was Derek was the TA in one of Stiles’ classes who held tutoring sessions once or twice a week, and Stiles always dutifully went. Until one day Derek finally called him out because it was obvious Stiles didn’t need the help, and Derek didn’t know what he was doing otherwise. So Stiles has to confess that he likes listening to Derek talk which makes him a bit flustered. Stiles takes the opportunity to ask him out while he’s being all shy and adorable and vulnerable, and Derek agrees. It’s probably something lowkey like watching Netflix on Stiles’ laptop and eating candy, but it ends up being a lot of fun and Derek always comes back for more. Once he realizes Stiles actually like likes him and isn’t just trying to get into his pants, he takes Stiles out on a real date to some fancy place. it doesn’t end well because Stiles is intimidated, so they bail and go to some pizza place instead and talk about the fact that Derek is actually loaded?? Later Mitch and John will tease that Stiles managed to get himself a sugar daddy.

What short series a la Bullet Points or Man out of Time would you recommend (as in, short and self-contained instead of long, interconnected-through-different-titles story-lines), specifically about Tony?

Ooh, this is a really good question! Thank you!

I have several recs for Tony-centric miniseries but unfortunately they’re pretty much all a little longer than either Bullet Points or Man Out of Time. They are definitely self-contained storylines, though, which is what you want.

Iron Age: Not to be confused with Iron Man: The Iron Age (which is a different miniseries), this is a five-issue miniseries from 2011. It’s a little uneven in that every issue contains multiple stories, all of which are written and drawn by different people, telling one continuous story. But it mostly works. It’s a time-travel story in which Tony is basically thrown back through his own past and has to revisit some of his weirdest and/or most painful times as a superhero. Features a lot of great superhero cameos, Tony naked and crying in the rain (always good times!), and also Tony accidentally hitting on his past self. I wouldn’t say it’s the definitive Tony miniseries but it’s a lot of fun.

Iron Man: Extremis: Okay, so this isn’t actually a miniseries, it’s the opening six-issue arc of Iron Man volume 4, but it can absolutely be enjoyed without reference to any other comics. It’s from 2005 and it’s a good introduction to more modern characterizations of Tony. It revamps and slightly updates his origin story, bringing it to Afghanistan where it has remained. It also introduces transhumanism as an element of Tony’s character, which is a character note that has become pretty important to him over the past decade. Also the art is beautiful. And it’s available in animated form, if you’d like to watch some comics!

Iron Man: Fatal Frontier: Released in 2013, Fatal Frontier is probably still my most recent favorite IM comic. It’s thirteen issues, by Ewing and Gillen, and it is just wacky and amazing in the best way. Tony befriends sad Communist robots on the moon, becomes sheriff of the moon, plays all the parts in his own heist movie, and defeats a villain with hurt/comfort fanfic. It’s great. If you’re going to read it, I would suggest reading it digitally if you can – it was designed and formatted as an “infinite comic” and it works really well that way.

Iron Man Noir: Since you mentioned Bullet Points, I’m just gonna toss in a rec for my favorite canon historical AU setting for Tony, and that’s Noir (2010), in which it’s 1939 and Tony is basically Indiana Jones and it’s a lot of pulp adventure fun. Four issues.

Iron Man: Legacy: Also from 2010, this is an eleven-issue series split into two arcs. The first arc, “War of the Iron Men,” puts Tony up against some of his most classic villains and also features a lot of flashbacks to Tony’s childhood, including Tony building himself a robot dog. The second arc, “Industrial Revolution,” is set during the second drinking arc, so that automatically gets it all the points from me, but it will probably still make sense if you haven’t read that arc. The guy who wrote this series is the same guy who wrote Marvel Adventures: Iron Man and it kind of feels like MA:IM but for adults – there are a lot of really great Tony character moments in it. (I would actually also rec MA:IM if you haven’t read it; it is for kids, but it’s lovely, and all its issues are standalone, and there are only thirteen of them.)

I know these are all pretty recent but honestly character-focused miniseries are a relatively recent thing at least when it comes to Tony – everything else I’d want to rec from earlier would be part of an ongoing series, like Demon in a Bottle or Doomquest or whatever.

If what you’re looking for is a modern retelling of Tony’s origin story the way that Man Out of Time was for Steve, I think you’ll probably be happiest if you read Extremis, which handles it briefly in flashbacks. There is a modern graphic novel retelling Tony’s origin story, Iron Man: Season One, but I can’t really recommend it unless you find it somewhere for super-cheap. If you find it for super-cheap, I would buy it, because it’s fully-painted and the art is absolutely stunning, but the actual story is basically a mess that attempts to combine Tony’s alcoholism – not canonically a major problem for him yet at this time – with his origin story and it’s just… it’s just not a thing that works for me. There’s him building the suit drunk, him fighting drunk, him getting drunk and bemoaning the fact that no one will have sex with him again now that he has the chestplate. You get the idea. But your mileage may vary.

the BASIC PREMISE is that Steve is Raleigh and Sam is Mako. or the other way around. either way. that’s what started it:

Steve n Bucky were a pilot pair vis a vis Raleigh n Yancy for their jaeger Avenger Maverick, and Bucky was killed (or lost his arm, but ‘killed’ fits the movie more and also makes it sadder, lol) in a kaiju attack and Steve had to kill the kaiju and pilot it back to shore alone, where he then left the program because of trauma, which, y’know. understandable. he comes back after Fury goes to recruit him bc jaegers are dropping like flies and the kaiju just keep coming, where he meets ~*~Sam Wilson~*~, the love of his life, who has also been recruited by Fury after having been out of the game for a while after losing his own partner, Riley, and their jaeger, Falcon Dynamite

when they get there its the last open shatterdome in the world bc every other world politician has decided to back General Thaddeus “Shitstain” Ross and his frankly fucking idiotic pacific wall program. there are still only four jeagers available - Aurora Immediate, piloted by Wanda and Pietro Maximoff (think the Kaidonovskys); Strike Team Delta, piloted by Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton (think the Wei triplets; more about them later); and Guardian Renegade, piloted by Thor and Loki Odinson. (think the Hansens; also more about them later)

Panther Maelstrom, piloted by King T’Challa and Princess Shuri of Wakanda, had to leave the program when their father died to take over ruling in his place, but are still helping on the sidelines by providing new technology and calculations and such when and where they can. Defender Olympia, piloted by Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson, was taken out alongside Terra Infinite, piloted by Peter and Gamora Quill, several years earlier after fighting the first Cat 3 on record, though all four pilots did manage to survive thanks to the escape pod tech they had available. (can you tell how much I don’t like people dying lol.) they have not reentered the program bc the program no longer has the money to afford to make new jaegers, and theirs were unsalvageable

Iron Roadhog, piloted by Tony Stark and James Rhodes, had just recently been knocked down for the count au-timeline-wise - Tony came away pretty banged up but otherwise alright, but both of Rhodey’s legs were broken, so even if their jaeger wasn’t completely unsalvageable anyway, they wouldn’t be piloting it any time soon, so both of them have been working with Bruce Banner, Betty Ross, and Jane Foster on breach calculations and how to stop the kaiju in the mean time. their jaeger was the only one that could fly for any length of time on its own aside from Falcon Dynamite (Roadhog utilized thrust from blasters, while Falcon utilized built in jetpack-and-wings combo to get some lift; both worked fine). Tony and Rhodey designed that thing from fucking scratch, and it was one of the best and oldest. the two of them actually worked a little (or a lot) on all of the jaegers, and they feel the hit every time one of them goes down. it primarily used missile, laser, and blaster/repulsor tech as its main weapons; it was also the only one to use an arc reactor to power it, as Tony didn’t trust anyone else with the technology, since practically anyone could get their hands on a jaeger when it goes down, especially in the sea, what with the currents. (cleaning Roadhog up to make sure no arc reactor debris made it into the wrong hands was an Event)

more on Wanda & Pietro: they’re still mutants, but not, like, “artificially made” I guess, they were born that way. the drift makes things really weird for mutants, its been found out, because apparently their powers can transfer in the ghost drift afterward. they don’t keep them, but its wildly disconcerting. their jaeger has a hard time keeping up with them (a giant metal robot can only move so fast no matter how fast you run), but it can handle Wanda’s whole... energy... thing... fabulously. they can make all kinds of weapons with it, its very versatile, which makes Aurora very, very effective

more on Nat & Clint: originally I was gonna go full-on Wei triplets and give them a three-manned jaeger w Coulson as the other piece, but I’m still not 100% on if I want him to be a jaeger pilot or want him to be like Tendo coaching from the sidelines. either way, Clint 100% calls their jaeger ‘STD’ for short bc he’s a little shit and Natasha always hits him for it. their martial arts training doesn’t translate well in a giant body often weighed down not just by itself but by water, but they make it work, and they have built in crossbows on both arms, to utilize Clint’s special skill-set, as well as what can only be described as giant wrist tasers (Widow’s Bites) to pack a punch

more on Thor & Loki: they are still asgardian in this au. just bc I want them to be bc how fucking awesome would an asgardian jaeger be. especially with those two, lightning and vicious storms in the middle of the ocean fucking up the kaiju, meanwhile, Loki has fucking magic, he could make illusions to confuse them, or conjure fire, or ice, or giant blades - its endless. (the only problem for him would be power, but maybe the drift w Thor would amplify it too? who knows!) to be fair though, their first drift was... Not Great. as a matter of fact, some would say it was a downright disaster. Thor fried all the circuitry in the room and destroyed another in a rage, while Loki, ah, vomited, and accidentally dropped the aesir glamor he had, showcasing all his blue glory while simultaneously freezing the entire room. they are very drift compatible (98% in fact, right after Steve n Bucky and T’Challa n Shuri, with Wanda n Pietro taking to top slot of 99%, and Tasha n Clint and Tony n Rhodey bringing up the rear behind them at a slightly lower 98% lol). their first drift was so disastrous because 1) sharing memories from hundred if not thousands of years, instead of just decades, and 2) the whole “you’re the golden child, Odin loves you more, he hates me, you hate me, everyone hates me, I hate me” thing w Loki kind of made Thor realize how fucking shitty his brother’s life was and what kind of impact he had on it and how pissed it made him at himself, and Loki realizing that Thor actually did love him, and just... ugh. brotherly bonding, afterwards. lovely. (I love Ragnarok can you tell)

ANYWAY, the rest of the movie proceeds as such: Steve and Sam, like Mako and Raleigh, test to see that they’re drift compatible (which or course they are), and their first official drift in the newly revamped “Falcon Maverick” goes as poorly as Mako and Raleigh’s because this time they both have shitty my-partner-got-ripped-out-of-the-cockpit-too memories. Sam’s is the one who chases the rabbit first, so to speak (like Mako). meanwhile, Tony, Rhodey, Bruce, Betty, and Jane are all working on the breach, and Tony and Bruce (mostly Tony) come up w the idea to drift with the brain segment they have (like Newt), which the other three resoundly dismiss because its practically suicide (like Hermann), but they DO IT ANYWAY because WHAT THE FUCK DO THEY HAVE TO LOSE. Rhodey and Betty wind up being forced to stay at the shatterdome for calculation work while Tony and Bruce go out to find another kaiju brain from whoever Hannibal is in this au, I have no idea, my first idea was Loki but I wanted him to be a pilot too badly to follow through with it SO, Tony and Bruce go out into the Hong Kong Bone Slums with, surprisingly, Jane in tow, as their babysitter to keep them from doing anything more stupid to compromise the mission, and those three together do the joint drift w the kaiju brain like Newt and Hermann and rush back to give the shatterdome the bad news

during this, Aurora Immediate, Strike Team Delta, and Guardian Renegade (like Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon, and Striker Eureka) are battling it out in the Hong Kong harbor and actually, y’know, doing better, bc they have asgardians and mutants on their side, but its still pretty tight, so Falcon Maverick is sent out to wrap it up. they come out with no casualties, unlike in the movie, but Aurora Immediate and Strike Team Delta are still too damaged to follow through with Operation Pitfall, especially since they definitely don’t have the resources or the time to prepare them for it, so even though Wanda, Pietro, Natasha, and Clint are still alive they still can’t be of much use at that point (and they’re pretty injured, so), so Guardian Renegade and Falcon Maverick face it alone

like in the movie, two Cat 4′s and one Cat 5 leave the breach, but Guardian, having asgardian pilots, does better at fending them off, but they’re still losing. blah blah blah, they blow the bomb and make it out safe thanks to Loki’s magic and also their alien physiologies, and Steve and Sam go in to finish the job. it ends a lot like the movie after that, but with no dead bodies! ayy! good times
