The fact that the Doof had been paired and proved most compatible with Perry, canonically and repeatedly proclaimed to be one of OWCA's best agents in the field, is curious to me.
Some fics have a throwaway line or two talking referring to his compatibility with other agents. I think, also, about the canonical fact that he remains as third most dangerous evil scientist in OWCA's ledger.
I also like thinking about the fact that we have been proven, multiple times, in VARIOUS dimensions and fluctuations to the time space continuem, that were he not continuously thwarted throughout his career, he would not only have achieved tyrannical rule, he would have EXCELLED in it, and perfectly undefeated, EVEN BY HIS EVIL PEERS that people loved to pretend were always more competent than him.
Like. I think about that. Why? What makes Heinz so dangerous? What made everyone else incompatible to a point OWCA realized they needed to send their best, and he needed to be on call ALL THE TIME?
Curious

I love it when two characters are intelligent and capable separately but when they stand next to eachother you can see their braincells rapidly jumping ship
their iq goes into freefall if they are within a certain proximity to eachother
They brains crawl out of their heads and go on vacation if they get too close
They cancel out each others intelligence and they turn into two idiots who only have bad ideas
I luv them

Considering Steph’s death in War Games is the first in the conga line of Tim Losing People, I think you could wind up with a really mean AU where Tim blames both himself and Stephanie for several of them, by having Tim get shot protecting Darla, so he’s out of commission during them.
Jack? Less angsty version: Tim is still in the hospital. More angsty version: Tim is home, and Jack logically assumes Tim is the target and dies protecting him.
Kon? Tim’s not back in the field yet (maybe not ever), but is helping out during the crisis by running comms so hears it all go down.
Dana? Tim is convinced he could have prevented the Bludhaven bombing if he’d been more involved in investigating/fighting the villains.
Tim takes on a way too much responsibility, and Steph takes on way too little. An AU where she’s alive and he’s knocked out of commission by her actions makes that a recipe for so much hurt.
(On a happier note, you could easily have Cass decide not to go on her Mom Quest, because Gotham/Bludhaven/etc needs her, and she winds up joining the Titans when shit hits the fan. So we can just entirely circumvent the Evil Cass Arc.)

Izzy, Ed, and Apologies
Reminder that the 2x8 dialogue between Ed and Izzy included the lines:
Izzy: "I'm sorry, I was terrible to you."
Ed: "No, I'm sorry. What are you apologizing for? I should be the one apologizing."
In particular, "What are you apologizing for?" doesn't have any potential of Ed merely forgiving Izzy or downplaying Izzy's actions. Contrast it with "You don't need to apologize," or something similar, which would otherwise fit a very similar narrative beat. Ed literally does not think Izzy did anything to warrant an apology. The only person in canon who thinks Izzy deserved to lose his toes and leg is Izzy.
If you think that Izzy deserved what Ed did to him, you need to be able to say, "Ed was wrong and Izzy was right." Otherwise you're just disregarding Ed's feelings on the issue entirely.

Thought process for the current fic I'm writing (because this game is living rent free in my head):
Hmm it's really sad that when you romance Freddie she's definitely going to outlive you. I wonder if I can come up with an in-canon way for Grace to not die way before her.-->you can become the ruler of Hades even without the eidolon, or at least you don't lose the achievement, I wonder what that even does anyway, maybe that confers some sort of divine status that could extend Grace's lifetime?-->oh. Oh I can make this really angsty.-->

Concept art from Ice Age (2002) showing the staging for the Diego's sacrifice scene by Michael Rose. Look how the focus, even from the concept art, shows Manny and Roshan mourning over Diego and not a shred of Sid in sight (You can see Sid in this concept art but he is out of focus compared to Manny and Roshan and barely in the image; the only thing visible of Sid is his eyes, which are hidden from us.), because, well... he didn't do it for Sid so much as he did it for Manny and the baby. Their Pinky.
It looks like Diego's foreleg is covering Roshan too as though he's trying to comfort the baby even as he lays dying. ;_;

In which I propose a new superpower for Jason Todd
Jason was resurrected by a ripple/fracture/break in space-time/reality. Significantly, he was resurrected physically to a moment right before his death (I’d argue right before the bomb went off, based on his injuries and specifically the lack of smoke-damage to his lungs allowing him to call out for Bruce from down in his grave) but he remembers dying. Some analysis even suggests that resurrection made him immortal, that his death was overwritten and cannot be rewritten in any way that will stick. Plenty of AUs speculate about this giving him a whole variety of powers, but I haven’t seen this one yet, so...
Jason Todd exists, physically, as every single version of himself that ever was, could have been, or ever could be. He is, in a way, outside of time, a permanent glitch in the metaphorical matrix. He is a very, very specialized kind of shapeshifter, able to hit fast forward or rewind on his own physical form whenever he wants, but his perception of time remains linear & constant---he can’t actually see the future or anything, and if he shifts to the time he was a corpse, he’s still trapped & aware inside of his nearly useless, rotting body. When he meets alternate versions of himself from parallel universes, he also learns of different paths his life could’ve gone down, allowing him to rewind to the point where that changed and then fast forward down that other path as far as he wants (once again, this does not grant him the memories of that alternate life, he is always the Jason who stole from Batman, became Robin, died in that warehouse, and came back with a vengeance.) Not something he gets much use out of, given how few of the alternate selves he’s met have useful powers of their own, but handy for hiding scars or changing his build slightly for undercover work.
No, what Jason got/gets/will get the most use out of is the rewind feature. It can heal wounds, as long as he removes the blade or bullet which will not be affected by his shifting, which is both very handy (in the case of the former) and very troublesome (when the latter means he can’t risk shifting at all if he’s been shot or hurt with shrapnel.) He comes back to Gotham as a ghost, the Robin they all remember him as, and haunts his family just irregularly enough to really throw them off their games in between antics as the Red Hood.
(He also did/does/will do it instinctively sometimes, losing track of what age he’s supposed to be and shifting to the one he currently feels like, or the one he wants to be. He almost always drops however many years back to his late teens whenever he’s being especially petty or underhanded. When he’s scared, he has to actively remember not to let himself literally shrink back to 14, when he was Robin & a Wayne and actually felt safe. Under fear toxin, it’s not uncommon to find Jason under ten years old, tiny & scared, trying to find somewhere small to hide. In the opposite direction, he often gets older when he wants people to take him seriously, because something Jason learned young is that nobody listens to people they think are children.)
(Needless to say, the full-face helmet is very useful, and he keeps the filters well maintained & at the bleeding-edge of bat-technology. Nightwing having to carry a sobbing six year old back to the cave for treatment should never, ever have happened even the one time, and Jason’s not about to let it happen again!)
He needs to remember to age at all, since he just hit/hits/will hit “pause” when he reaches the form he wants. He came out of the Lazarus Pit a glitchy, blurring mess of a thing, and it took a while before he was able to find a form that felt comfortable in the time he was now in (the body he would have had, if Bruce got there in time and took Jason to the al Ghuls to beg healing for his son’s wounds.) The further he gets from the current time/reality, the more uncomfortable a form was/is/will be to hold; like wearing a skin-tight suit that doesn’t quite fit, getting smaller the further he gets from “here & now.”
(Yes, that does mean Jason will inevitably experience ever-increasing discomfort as time goes on and he gets further from his original resurrection; he’s not supposed to be “here” right “now.” The longer it’s been since Jason Todd ceased to exist, the more out of place a living Jason Todd was/is/will be.)

Please explain your reasoning, I'm very curious as to what people think about this.
Personally, I think he would eat it, I think everyone else would be grossed out by it, but he would compare it to when people eat their own placenta after giving birth.
