Apollo, in DC Comics. He's a hero who is married to Midnighter (yay!). He flies around, super-strength given by the sun. However, he isn't always getting saved by his husband (or vice versa). His fair hair (which is white/platinum blond) has gone from long to short.

Soap, in COD MWII, is part of a secret international task force. He wears his dark hair in a mohawk. He shamelessly simps for and teases his teammate, Simon "Ghost" Riley.

Ghost, in COD MWII, doesn't legally exist, because he was left for dead after his family was killed. A good chunk of players HC that he's blond, for various reasons.

You know, sometimes I feel bad - selfish even - when I incorporate details of myself into my own fics, like height or weight (even if I don’t explicitly describe it). But then I read fics where people purposely put in markers, like “his shirt was double your size, encasing your small frame” or “he towered over you and your 5′4″ self” and I don’t feel as bad.

Like, I understand putting parts of yourself into your reader inserts. Believe me, I do. But it just frustrates me to no end when I see shit like that. I am not short, nor am I skinny. I would not be able to wear an idols clothes because it would not fit someone like me. Reader inserts are meant to be inclusive, and I know there are much more serious inclusion issues in second person pov fics than what I'm ranting about here, so again, I always feel bad saying stuff like this. The colourism alone is astounding. 

I just - I don’t know where I was going with this, but I wanted to get it off my chest. If authors have to warn/tag fics with ‘tall reader’ or ‘chubby reader’, then shouldn’t they have to warn for ‘short reader’ or ‘skinny reader’, too? How about we just not use descriptive words like ‘small body’ or ‘petit frame’ when describing the reader because not everyone fits into that.
