Beautician!Kenshin Headcanons

ALRIGHT SO I’M LATE, BUT HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY #1 LORD AND LOVER, KENSHIN UESUGI! Here, have some personal headcanons I have for Beautician!Kenshin because I couldn’t stop thinking about him. -Admin Yukari

Being well-versed with a sword, it wasn’t strange to see Kenshin wield a pair of scissors and be extremely talented with it.

While Kenshin was good with scissors in beauty school, he had to really work hard to keep up with the other necessary beauty skills, such as dyeing hair, washing hair, and practicing quality customer service. Sometimes his instructors would tell him to work on smiling more instead of frowning.

He used to practice on Sasuke, Yukimura, and Shingen but that all ended when all three of them were too scared to be near him and a sharp pair of scissors. 

Shingen complains that Kenshin isn’t gentle when he washes his hair and makes a point that customers can complain about getting headaches. Kenshin scoffs and calls it nonsense since Shingen’s scalp needs the harsh wash to get rid of his dandruff flakes.

Once, Kenshin tried buzzing off Yukimura’s hair with a razor, and it did not end as well as he thought it would. Yukimura was left with a few uneven spots in his hair and he was mortified to go out afterward. After this, Yukimura told Kenshin to work on his skills before using him as a sacrifice again in the future.

When Sasuke, with hesitation, decided to offer himself up to Kenshin to trim his bangs, it ended with Sasuke screaming in horror as he saw the straight blunt bangs across his forehead after Kenshin chopped it all off. It wasn’t until Kenshin stylized it in its usual manner did Sasuke sigh in relief and felt his heart return to its normal beat.

Kenshin is not fond of dyeing hair or bleaching it. He’s not a big fan of the lengthy process or the smell. He always says that it “takes up too much time” and doesn’t like how it gives his clients dead hair a few weeks later.

If they were brave enough, some of Kenshin’s classmates would ask him if he bleached and styled his own hair because of its unique style, but he would quickly tell them no and that it was “all natural,” much to their disbelief.

After graduating from beauty school and getting his license, Kenshin started off by joining a well-known hair salon in Echigo. It was the perfect opportunity to hone his skills and develop them even more. 

Right after he had his own booth, the owner of the salon started to notice the increase in clientele and couldn’t help but wonder if it was because of Kenshin’s skills or just himself in general. 

While most of his coworkers refuse to cut hair for young children because of their fidgety habits in the salon chair, Kenshin doesn’t mind. He usually gets them to stay still and quickly works his scissors through their hair, all while telling them to remain still if they didn’t want him to accidentally cut them. 

Even though women (and sometimes men) come flocking over to the hair salon and demand to have an appointment with Kenshin, he’s usually booked several months ahead. People usually have to wait 4-5 months for his next opening because Kenshin doesn’t like to pack his schedule too tightly.

Once Kenshin was informed that the hair salon would extend into other beauty services, he decided to quit and open up his own hair salon. Doing makeovers and nails was out of the question for him and he didn’t enjoy it as much as he did with hair. 

After opening up his own hair salon, Kenshin decided to establish his own rules. Sake Saturdays would be a thing among his employees, and he would happily accept sake and pickled plums as payment from his clients. 

Surprisingly, Kenshin gets also booked to do hair updos for weddings or special events. He’s willing to travel to his clients if they promise him a quality brand of sake too. 

Kenshin always participates in hair donations for organizations that use hair to create wigs for cancer patients. He believes in good causes and likes to make his hair salon known for donating the most qualified hair. It’s good publicity! 

Has a poor habit of talking with scissors and pointing at things with them. If things get heated in the salon, you better pray that Kenshin isn’t snapping his scissors at you as his voice darkens and he speaks faster than usual. 

Kenshin doesn’t listen to the music his hair salon plays. Instead, he carries his own black earbuds and smartphone to block out the salon’s pop music. He prefers instrumental music or even alternative rock.

One time Yoshimoto came in after hearing about Kenshin’s success with his new salon and he “accidentally” changed the music playing in the hair salon to extremely loud screamo music. It wasn’t long before Kenshin chased him out of the hair salon with his scissors and banned Yoshimoto from ever returning.

Even though he was taught to interact with his customers in beauty school, Kenshin is not much of a talker when he works on his client’s hair. He prefers to just listen to his music in silence, only speaking when he instructs his clients to follow him to the sink to wash their hair or to look at a certain angle while he cuts their hair. 

Despite this, Kenshin’s charisma always draws his customers to come back to him. It’s hard to resist him and his prices for his services too.

Kenshin cuts his own hair when it gets a little longer. He doesn’t trust anyone else to do it. 

Keeps his hair salon clean and sparkling every day. Kenshin can’t stand seeing a piece of hair on the floor if it hasn’t been swept and he doesn’t like seeing empty bottles of hairspray on the counters either. Proper sanitation is a must.

Kenshin’s salon eventually becomes the #1 go-to place for hair in Echigo, and he’s quite proud of his hard work. It’s a victory worth showing off! To celebrate, he eventually comes out with his own professional line of hair products and it hits off well among his clients and Echigo.  

Kenshin avidly avoids gossip and drama and refrains from participating in it. He wants his employees to keep it professional, but that all changes when a certain client keeps coming back to his hair salon and Kenshin develops the desire to get to know her better. His employees tease him about it and ask “What happened to the “zero tolerance policy” for gossip?” 

Eventually ends up hiring MC to be his social media and marketing promoter for his hair salon. All of Kenshin’s works of art for hair can be found on his Instagram and other social media websites thanks to MC’s meticulous work. 

His budding romance with MC starts when she allows him to use her hair to create more pretty updos and to test new methods. It isn’t long before Kenshin becomes quite comfortable with MC and loves the feel of her hair. He’s sure he won’t find anyone as open and accepting as her when it comes to being his test subject.

Once Kenshin and MC planned to get married, he asked her if she would allow him to stylize her hair for the wedding, and she agreed! It wasn’t every day that she had the chance to let Kenshin play with her hair. 

If Kenshin had children, they would be set for life when it comes to hair. He would be their one and only hairstylist. He can’t stand the thought of them seeing anyone else. Yandere much?

Yata goes missing for months and Saru freaks the shit out only for Yata to one day reemerge as a member of Jungle? And uh, Jungle having initially brainwashed Yata, but eventually they begin to actually start liking him and seeing him as one of them, and Yata vice versa also being attached so that he still doesn't want them hurt evem after S4 and Homra rescue him from the brainwashing? PURE YATA AND JUNGLE INTERACTIONS KEEP ME ALIVE NO MATTER HOW CRACK IT IS :")))

To make this at least vaguely wholesome maybe they didn't like mean to brainwash him exactly, like imagine this being amnesiac Yata and jungle finds him and decides to take advantage of the opportunity, only to eventually find that they rather like Yata. Like say this happens some time prior to MK, Yata's out wandering the streets by himself all depressed and miserable and he ends up like falling and hitting his head. He's found by some random jungle members, like there was a mission out to spray graffiti all over Bar Homra and they were on the way when they spotted Yata and recognized him as already having a bounty out for him on jungle. When they contact the main admin they're told to wait with Yata until J-ranker Beauty Angel comes to retrieve him and in return they'll get a bunch of points. Yukari eventually shows up and takes Yata into custody, bringing him down to jungle's hideout where Hisui is interested in speaking with this one lonely member of Homra.

Yata turns out to have a concussion and he's in and out of consciousness for a while, jungle taking care of him as best they can and plotting what to do when he wakes up. Eventually Yata finally gains consciousness only to wonder where he is and what's happened, turns out he like doesn't remember anything after the surprise party from LSW and he's like wondering where Fushimi is and what's going on. Hisui decides to take advantage of this opportunity, explaining to Yata that his success in messing with jungle's plans impressed Hisui so much that he decided to bring Yata into jungle to become one of their clansmen. However Yata was injured during a mission recently and it seems he's lost all memories of their time together. Yata's like wait really, all shocked that so much time has passed and he can't remember a thing. Hisui reassures him that they're all his friends though and will help him remember (and then Yata asks about Saruhiko again and Hisui gets a grave look as he says it seems Yata's forgotten that most painful memory too, how Fushimi betrayed him and went to join Scepter 4 instead).

Meanwhile Yata's absence has since been noticed, probably first by Kamamoto who was coming by to check on him. With Anna's powers being unreliable she can't even tell if Yata's alive or dead and in the end Kamamoto has no choice but to ask the Blues for help just because there's not really anyone else to rely on, Kusanagi's still overseas and the rest of Homra's scattered. Kamamoto figures his only option is to go see Fushimi, who of course mocks him and says that he's not Misaki's keeper, it's not Fushimi's business if Yata just decided to go home for a couple days or something. Kamamoto says no, it's been over a week and he found Yata's skateboard just lying abandoned in an alley near what looked like an old bloodstain. This gets Fushimi's attention right away, though he still tries to act like it's none of his business and Homra should have been keeping a better eye on their people. He tells Kamamoto to go away and leave him alone but of course as soon as Kamamoto's gone Fushimi's immediately into his own investigation trying to figure out where Yata's been taken and who could have kidnapped him.

Then MK happens and maybe right at the end when Douhan's trying to escape from Fushimi Yata shows up, dressed in green and grinning as he throws a smoke bomb to help Douhan escape. Fushimi sees Yata and just immediately stops cold, like he can't even bring himself to say anything mocking or angry because he's just dumbfounded all 'Misaki...?' Yata's face goes serious as he's like so there you are you traitor, Fushimi feels like those words should have made him happy but all he feels is this deep chill. Yata quickly turns and runs off, saying he'll deal with Fushimi later because his 'King' needs him, leaving Fushimi behind staring in disbelief.

So then after this Homra I'm sure would find out what happened, even if Fushimi didn't report what happened by now Anna probably knows too. Anna says that Misaki's aura seems clouded but she doesn't know what's wrong and she can't track him due to Hisui's interference. Fushimi's irritated by that, I could totally see him lashing out at Homra for being useless by letting Yata get taken this way and some of the Homra alphabet boys are like didn't you abandon him first you don't get to say anything to us. Hisui's plan starts moving in earnest now though and Yata's a part of that, he's become one of the group in jungle and he probably gets along pretty well with everyone and feels like he's got a real family. Homra keeps trying to find him and Yata doesn't get who these people are, the only one he recognizes is Saruhiko and even he doesn't look like Yata remembered – oh then imagine how this works out later when Fushimi joins jungle, like he leverages this as he's changed his mind and decided to go with Yata but really he's determined to find out what happened to Misaki and get him back to normal. During the final battle is when Fushimi finally gets through to Yata and Yata's memories return, but now he's conflicted because he gets why everyone wants to stop jungle and he knows he should be pissed at them but he still remembers how they used to be a family (imagine Yata showing up when Sukuna's fighting Fushimi and that's when his memory comes back, letting him realize that he chooses Saruhiko over Sukuna, but then at the same time he stops Fushimi from hurting Sukuna and tries to talk Sukuna into surrendering because Yata doesn't want to see anyone die).

She pulled him by his hand, a small giggle escaping her lips, as they made their way to their bedroom. Shingen closed the distance encircling his powerful arms around Mai's waist pressing her against him. She leaned onto his frame purring with delight as Shingen nibbled on the lobe of her ear; his hands roving along her midsection. Mai encircled an arm around him, her hand cradling the back of his head allowing Shingen to claim the soft skin on her neck. She cried wantonly feeling a stinging pain as Shingen bit her neck. His hot tongue instantly lapped the sore spot soothing the sudden ache, and causing a sweet chill to shoot down her spine.

"Shingen," Mai moaned.

He ground his hips from behind, driving Mai into the wall in front of her. She sighed softly feeling Shingen begin to make quick work of her obi. He pulled it off of her discarding it to the side as it fell over the edge of the veranda. Shingen turned Mai around taking in her flushed face.

"My goddess," he whispered in a husky tone.

She met his passionate expression with her own, a thrilled smile gracing her painted lips. The maids had gone to great efforts to make her presentable for the night. Esteemed guests had arrived at their cozy castle among them reputable daimyo and their close friends from Kasugayama Castle. Mai and Shingen had spent a majority of the night entertaining their guests. Yet, Shingen's roving hands had made it known he wanted her. Mai wasn't about to turn down the invitation. They snuck out of the audience chamber rushing back to their quarters.

Mai leaped up wrapping her arms and legs around her man. Shingen deftly caught her as their lips crashed together in a fierce kiss. His large hands pushed the hem of her kimono aside palming her thighs all the way to her rear where he gave her buttocks a firm squeeze. Mai broke away from Shingen throwing her head back in euphoric bliss as she started to grind against Shingen.

He grunted feeling a knee give out. "My, eager, are we?"

"I want you," Mai stated simply, leaning in to nip at his neck.

Shingen chuckled. "I don't mind taking you here, but someone could watch," he said, pressing her back against the wall.

Mai smirked. "Unlikely. I heard you order everyone to remain at the party. The sake still hasn't run outーAh!" Shingen pinned one of her hands against the wall as he began to grind into her sex. "Mm, Kenshin...is still...haa...here…"

Her fingernails clawed and scratched at his broad back while she rode him encouraged by his rapturous grunts. Shingen braced himself against the wall with one hand as he continued to hold Mai with the other. Her hand returned to her other breast in hopes of increasing the pleasure she was feeling. However, Shingen took note and switched breasts as his other hand teased the other. It didn't take long to finally reach that crescendo. Mai began to twitch before convulsing against Shingen. She felt him release inside of her just as quickly; her body milking him for every drop. They slid to the floor, breathless, and exchanging sloppy kisses as they pulled out from each other. Shingen reached behind him grabbing Mai's kimono, and draped it over her shoulders. He pulled her against him resting against the wall, and gazed up at the full moon above them.

"Has my goddess returned back down from the heavens?" He asked.

Mai playfully swatted his chest. Her fingers traced across his damp skin flitting across a few battle scars and the one from his surgery.

"I've always been here," she replied, tapping at his heart with her finger.

Shingen smiled. He caught her hand and brought her fingers to his lips. He kissed each digit before looking down at her. The same passionate gazed remain in his eyes making her own gaze soften. Shingen held her chin in his fingers.

"Stay with me always," he murmured.

"Always," Mai replied.

They leaned in sharing a soft kiss in the summer night.

Phan Cam: The Festival of Our Dreams

WARNING: This post may be a bit long. Also, there’s a chance some posts may not show on time.

>The stage for the Dream Festival was all set up and ready. The idols were doing some last minute rehearsals before the first concert. Dream FES will last six days from Monday to Saturday this year. The first event takes place tonight on Monday which will be like any other concert. The second event takes place on Wednesday where it’s Open Mike Nite and anyone can perform on stage, even with the idols. The finale takes place on Saturday where the competition to see which Rookie Idols, Skull included, will get to become True Idols and possibly record a CD takes place with the idols finishing it with a huge show stopper.

Okay, so I stand here and I announce the groups when they come out. I think I got it.

Good. Now when you announce them, don’t hold back, give it as much energy as you can so the audience can feel it.

MC: I’ll do just that.

Worker: Hey, they stylist is calling for one last check!

MC: Coming!

>The MC leaves. Haruto also goes back stage.

>The dressing room. KUROFUNE was getting ready for that night.

God, this is just so great! We’re gonna blow this place tonight!

Keigo: This year’s Dream FES is a week long to correspond with the End of Summer. You’ll have another chance soon.

Skull: Really? You added something new to that last song?

Actually, he’s talking about the finale where both our groups perform.

Haruto: Actually. it’ll be three this year.

For real!? There’s more this year!?

Haruto: (smiling) You’re Ryuji Sakamoto, am I right? KUROFUNE’s newest member.

Skull: It’s a part-time job, actually. But I hope to work full if I can.

Haruto: I see. Well, this year, ANSwer will be joining you.

Kanade: So Asuma san, Chikage san, and Eiji san will be singing with us?

Haruto: That’s what the producers said. Letting one of the newer idol groups perform with two of the legendary idol groups, especially with KUROFUNE’s newest idol would gather more people.

Shin: That sounds a little... Big.

Haruto: That’s business. But don’t worry. I know you can do it. I’ve seen you do more impossible things than I can count.

Kanade: No doubt.

Haruto: So, can I count on you to do this?

KUROFUNE and DearDream: Yes!

Haruto: That’s the spirit. Well, see you tonight.

Harry: Ollie Osnick, he was a student at Oz Academy.

Actually, I’m already acquainted with Ryuji san.

Skull: Really? How so?

Ollie: ... It’s complicated.

Peter: And last, but far from least, Grady Scraps.

Grady: Sorry about the uniform. It was in such a hurry, this was the only thing I could get on.

It’s alright, Grady, we’re here until the 24. We have plenty of time to shop for new threads.

Grady: That’s good to hear.

Chizuru: Then might I suggest Peace Parade. Sheep Heavenly is good, too.

For real!? Idol Brands can be bought as well?

A young dark-skin man with pink dread locks who was accompanied by another dark-skin young man with brown cornrows, a young man with facial hair and glasses, a young man with long blonde hair, and, was was unmistakably, a brown and blue mecha.

Yuto: With everyone so focused on Kanamin Kitchen, who works for Takura Productions, sales for D-Four were dropping. If that kept going on, many idol groups would have to be let go. Sankishi included. Even Amuse, Lantis and Bandai Namco, the companies that birthed D-Four, would have severed their ties with them to avoid being dragged down. Then, they would have filed for bankruptcy and their only salvation is to be bought out. Mostly likely their competitor, Takura Productions, or an overseas company, like Apollon Media.

Joker: Why would Apollon be interested in the Dream Festival?

Yuto: I don’t know. And I don’t care to find out. Anyway, Masayoshi Shido, who was already a major and well believed politician and a big fan of Sankishi, bailed them out by raising their popularity back up by showing his support. As a result, the next Dream Festival... The same Dream Festival KUROFUNE and DearDream first appeared, was a huge success.

Diego: So you owe him?

Yuto: Well, that’s what Shido thought. After his heart was changed by yo- The Phantom Thieves, our deal with him was over... But D-Four itself wasn’t.

Stark: Yeah, you’re welcome.

You helped them, Mr. Stark?

Stark: I got curious about why Shido loved Sankishi. So I listened to their songs... And I truly understood why they are famous for the night of a million cheers... That, and I was curious how the Dream FES System worked. Or even where it came from. So, I bought D-Four Productions. Now they’re members of the Stark International Family and those other companies didn’t have to sever their ties.

my opinion of both is that they are the greatest touhous to ever milf. like with reimu (or honestly, like with just about any touhou ever), i could go on about all sorts of things about why i like em, but for this ask, uuuh...

Well, Yukari, its kinda funny for me to think about projecting or finding something relatable to the supposed most youkai-like youkai, a creature who is enigmatic and mysterious to other enigmatic and mysterious creatures, but I really do. Part of that is her whole thing as sage and gensokyo’s guardian/admin/gardener. She does everything in her power to save and protect the fantastical and mythical from being forgotten, while having the most disagreeable personality possible. Like i absolutely believed then early on in gensokyo’s formation, when she was looking for weak and helpelss youkai to invite, even though she just sincerely wants to help bring them to paradise, she chooses to do so by taunting them about their existential and sorry state. So i like her as this objectively altruistic force that's still unambiguously a terrifying (or annoying) multi-eyed horror.

....thaaaat said, Yukari’s relationship with Yuyuko, is also something i like a lot, and maybe something I peer at with more of a dark tinge than most. For sure, in present, they are super in love and have been for like forever, but nothing can be so simple when dealing with a ghost and a dimension monster :0!

So the way it goes as most fans (including me) say it does is that yukari got to know yuyuko when the latter was alive, and they got really close but yuyuko took her own life, and sometime after, yukari does the thing which made yuyuko into the super ghost she is now.

All sorts of emotions went into the process, no doubt, anything from Yukari wanting to give Yuyuko a second lease at life, to wanting to grant Yuyuko some wish of wanting to live in peace....

...But i think the biggest thing, that was at the back of Yukari’s mind at the time and in the present, is how Yukari felt hurt by Yuyuko ‘betraying’ her like that, and so Yukari did what she did as a form of revenge. I do believe necromancing a loved one back to life works best as a spur of the moment thing of driven by intense, not-all-positive emotions!

Adding on to that, I think Yuyuko is definitely aware of those emtions behind Yukari (though she probably like, forgets and then re-remembers every now and then), but is like totally fine and content with it, which maybe seems kinda boring but I like to imagine Yuyuko sometimes making an offhand snark at Yukari being possessive or something with the above as an example, thinking its just an amusing thing they can laugh about, but Yukari just goes pale and >_> every time.

anyway I like them both and i like this ship because its got this really personal horror element to it but can be/ is also just genuinely really sweet and intense mutual understanding of these two ageless beings.

What do you feel it is that ultimately divides Yukari, Kasen, and Okina as Sages of Gensokyo? (i.e. their philosophy, their intentions for Gensokyo, etc?) Also, what roles do you feel each one of them played in its creation?

I’ve more or less covered this across multiple previous posts, but here:

Yukari: The gardener. Gensokyo is her garden and she wants it to be just perfect. However, she knows that ultimately she can’t directly control the growth of the plants, so she leaves things lying around the garden to direct their path. She’s willing to prune branches if necessary. Her goal, as mentioned, is to direct things towards some perfect end-state or cycle and keep it like that as long as possible. It’s unclear what that end-state is.

She is probably directly responsible for the creation and upkeep of the Great Hakurei Barrier.

Okina: The admin. She just wants things to work properly. She seems fairly hands-off regarding the precise goings-on in Gensoyko and spends most her time in the background, keeping the systems running. Until very recently anyway. We don’t yet know all that much about her relative to the other two, but I’d imagine she thinks of Gensokyo as primarily a means to an end. Preserve fantasy by whatever means necessary. If they happen to create something self-sustaining that doesn’t need sages, well, that’s fine too.

Her powers allow her to regulate lifeforce and spirit, however that works. I assume this is necessary in the same sense that regulating the flow of air and water is in a space shuttle: the closed space makes imbalances much more dangerous. She probably had to work overtime during the Spring Snow Incident.

Kasen: The philosopher. She’s concerned primarily with ethics. What is the right course of action? Not necessarily the most beneficial or most efficient. It sounds like she’s been gone for a while and only recently returned to see what had become of their experiment. And to her, that’s what Gensokyo is: an experiment. She has no ideological stake in its continuing existence, and she seems increasingly convinced that it was a failure. Maybe it’s time to tear it all down and find something better. I also can’t help but feel that she was somewhat against the idea from the beginning but was convinced to give it a shot. She’s the evil sage, from a certain perspective.

It’s not at all clear how talking to animals would help, but given that she has some connection with dragons I suppose it’s possible that she negotiated with the Dragon God. Also, as a hermit she has some experience with creating small artificial worlds.

Let us know about your muse’s alibis ! If your muse was at X location at X time, we can let you know if there was anything or anyone of note that they may have seen !

For that matter - ask other muses about their own alibis, see where anyone else was at any point in time ! (Ask though, don’t push - the trials will take care of that.)

Anything you find out is up to you to share with other peeps - you can reveal evidence and information to other muses at your own muse’s personal digression.

Evidence tends to get found pretty quickly - so take this time to start theorizing and looking for dots to connect, so that you don’t wind up going into the trial blind !

“Oath” | Uesugi Kenshin

Uesugi Kenshin x Historian!MC. 2nd Promise.

"Where is [Name]? Her breakfast won't stay warm forever." Kenshin remarked as he glared at the untouched food across the table from him.

It was rare of the Uesugi lord to have breakfast with his allies and vassals, but today was an exception. After a night of drinking away, the sun had risen to represent a new day and to end the banquet held in [Name]'s honor.

"Who knows? Maybe she decided to sleep in today." Yukimura commented as he tried massaging his headache from last night's party. Drinking with both Kenshin and Shingen was a fatal mistake, and he was learning to deal with the consequences now.

"Let our lovely goddess catch some rest for her beauty then. She needs it." Shingen stated as he picked up his chopsticks and began to eat.

"That can't be true. I sent a maid to go fetch her for breakfast, yet the maid hasn't returned." Kenshin brought up as he cast a glance at Sasuke, wondering why his ninja had been quiet for quite some time.

Little did Kenshin know that Sasuke had intervened earlier and suggested to the maid that he would go fetch [Name] himself instead. Of course, he already knew that she had set out for her journey to Azuchi and wouldn't be here at all. He just wanted to continue [Name]’s cover and buy her some more time.

"Perhaps she insisted on sleeping in," Sasuke spoke, hoping that Kenshin would buy into the idea and no longer question it.

"No, I won't allow for this sort of defiance in this castle. [Name] may be a woman, but she will become one of my official vassals soon. I expect her to obey the orders of her lord." Kenshin declared as he stood up and prepared to go find [Name].

Internally panicking, Sasuke was worried that if Kenshin knew the truth, [Name] would be in even bigger trouble. Deciding to distract his lord, Sasuke quickly stood up and moved right in front of Kenshin before he could reach the sliding door.

"Wait, Kenshin-sama. It might be rude to enter a lady's room without permission. You'll most likely be able to see her again sometime during the day when she isn't busy." Sasuke reasoned.

"If you want to live, then move, Sasuke. I don't have time for your nonsense. As the lord of this castle, I will do what I desire." Kenshin reminded as he placed a hand on the handle of his katana.

But before Sasuke could distract his lord even further, Kenshin unsheathed his katana and attempted to swing at Sasuke, intending to push his ninja back at a distance in order to let him escape and find [Name] on his own. Once he saw that Sasuke had jumped back as he had planned, Kenshin smirked at Sasuke and ran out of the room, knowing that the chase was on before they could ever dream of stopping him.

"Wait, Kenshin-sama!" Sasuke called out from behind. Kenshin could see that Yukimura and Shingen had also followed him out of the room, but he didn't care. All he wanted to do was to find [Name].

As he reached her room, Kenshin wasted no time in opening up her shoji screen doors and glancing over at her futon. But as he stepped inside to get a closer look, he saw that the room was empty. There was no sign of her anywhere.

"Where is she?" Kenshin yelled out in a booming loud voice.

"She's not here. Maybe she's somewhere else around the castle." Yukimura concluded once he finally caught up to everyone all while clutching his aching head.

"I want a thorough search for [Name]. Leave no stone unturned or room unchecked. Send out my orders to every maid and vassal now!" Kenshin commanded as he turned to them with fire in his eyes.

"Kenshin, don't you think you're being a little outrageous for [Name]? She could simply be somewhere around here. There's no need for a thorough search just to flag her down." Shingen announced as he crossed his arms.

"Ah, if I can recall this correctly, I believe [Name] is not even here in the castle. She embarked earlier on a journey to Azuchi, but I remember her saying that she would be back in a few days. She's there for reconnaissance, much like what Yukimura would do when he's there." Sasuke revealed, hoping that this would relieve Kenshin or lighten up his mood.

But if looks could kill, Sasuke was sure he would have been stabbed with the icicles forming in Kenshin's eyes. It was clear that his little white lie would not fool Kenshin.

"I don't recall making her a member of my Nokizaru or ordering her to do spy work for me in Azuchi. Since she never asked for my permission to leave, are you suggesting she left on her own accord without letting her own lord know?" Kenshin inquired grimly.

"She may have not given you a two-weeks notice of her leave, but she has no reason to betray you, Kenshin-sama. She owes her life to you for being kind enough to house her in your castle and giving her the freedom of an Uesugi princess and scholar. She would never do anything to revoke it." Sasuke uttered with determination.

"Nonetheless, she left me without warning. I won't allow this to happen. Sasuke, fetch me my horse. We leave now for Azuchi." Kenshin declared with the flip of his black cloak.

"You're leaving for Azuchi now? Why don't you just wait for her to return? Sasuke could be right, and we could get more information if our princess is truly on a reconnaissance mission." Shingen said as he watched Kenshin leave [Name]'s room.

"She won't make it alive if she meets bandits along the way. She may be intelligent, but certainly weak in terms of fighting. I won't lose her so easily. That's why I'm coming after her." Kenshin replied as he walked away.

"There he goes again with an excuse. Acting before thinking. Sasuke, you better go after him and watch out for him. He sounds reckless right now." Yukimura muttered as he looked over at his friend.

"I'm not too concerned about Kenshin-sama. I'm more worried about [Name]. Well then, I'll be off." Sasuke answered as he bowed down to them respectively before taking his leave.

"If only Kenshin was honest with his feelings for her. Maybe she'd confide in him more about her little trips if they were closer." Shingen muttered with a sigh as he and Yukimura left to go back and finish their breakfast.

"Do you think he has some hidden feelings for her? It sounds like he's only possessive of his potential war weapon." Yukimura said, remembering their conversation with Kenshin from last night.

"It may appear that way, but I think it's something deeper for Kenshin. She's no ordinary woman, and Kenshin knows that. Yet he can't help but feel attracted to her qualities too. It's the start of a relationship that he may want to pursue, but doesn't know about yet." Shingen answered.

"Jeez, this is so troublesome. Love sounds complicated and tedious." Yukimura remarked as he rolled his eyes.

"But that's what it is sometimes, Yuki. It's the art of love and war. They are alike in many ways." Shingen commented as he ruffled Yukimura's hair.

“Well, it sounds like it will be two fronts that [Name] will find herself battling in then. If she could even win them in the first place,” Yukimura confirmed quietly.

Meanwhile, [Name] was leading the horse that she had borrowed from the Uesugi clan down to a lake to have it drink some water. It had been a few hours since she left Echigo, but she was on her way to Mino. It wouldn't be long before she reached Omi to where Azuchi’s castle town was located.

Opening up her journal, [Name] decided to finish writing down the events of last night’s banquet even though she had left earlier for bed. Even though this timeline was an alternate compared to the one she knew, she figured it may be still important to keep note of it. After all, what woman in this time had the honor to have a banquet held in their name?

Lost in her thoughts, [Name] didn't even notice the presence of another creature until it meowed softly at her side.

“Ahh!!” she screamed as she scurried away from it and frightened her horse.

But the calico cat was persistent in receiving attention from her and didn't bother to scram. Instead, it approached her again and moved closer to her. By then, [Name] couldn't help but grimace at the fact that she was scared by a little cat.

“Jeez, you're just a cat. But what are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be in a nearby village somewhere?” [Name] asked as she picked it up and placed it in lap, petting it softly and hearing the cat purr in response.

“Mike, there you are! You ran off without warning and-”

But before the man could finish his sentence, [Name] looked back and was surprised to see him dressed in Buddhist robes and carrying a staff. A scar ran down his face but his charcoal eyes expressed concern and warmth.

But hadn't she seen him somewhere before?

“Oh! Is this your cat? I'm sorry, he approached me first and I didn't know he belonged to someone.” [Name] said as she picked up Mike and brought him over to the man.

“Mike ran off suddenly and I came to find him. Thank you for returning him.” the man replied, though he kept his eyes on [Name] as if she was someone he was familiar with too.

“It's no problem. Have a wonderful day!” [Name] replied swiftly as she turned away from him. It had finally occurred to her who this man was. He was Kennyo, the Buddhist monk that had gone rogue and attempted to take Oda Nobunaga’s life at Honno-ji. If it wasn't for her interference that night, she was sure that Nobunaga would have been killed.

“Wait.” Kennyo ordered in a deep growl.

[Name] couldn't help but freeze in her steps, and her heart was beating erratically as she heard Kennyo walk towards her.

“What's your name, young miss?”

“Umm, it's Mai. And yours?”

“Kennyo.”

“Kennyo. I see. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, but if you'll excuse me, I have to get going to meet up with my brother. He's waiting for me in Mino.”

“Is that so? Then I wish you safe travels, young miss.”

“Thank you, you too.” [Name] replied before walking away and getting back on her horse. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't internally screaming during her entire conversation with Kennyo. It was a close call too. Had Kennyo figured out who she truly was, she may have been in big trouble.

As Kennyo watched her ride away, he figured that perhaps she wasn't the one he met on that fateful night. She was still out there somewhere, but he was sure he would have the chance to cross paths with her again. After all, he had some unfinished business with that woman thanks to her interference for saving Nobunaga.

Night had fallen by the time Kennyo returned to his hut in the forest. It was one of those nights where he had to meet up with one of his spies and sit down to hear of any news.

“The Oda forces seem to be looking for the girl who saved Oda Nobunaga’s life in Honno-ji. They've expressed an interest in finding her, and there's even award for anyone who knows who and where she is. So far the search seems unsuccessful, but it has given the people an incentive to keep on the lookout for her.” the spy revealed lowly.

“That devil king...using power for his own selfish desires. If this girl is potentially precious to him, perhaps we can use her against him. This could be our chance to have Nobunaga in our hands once and for all.” Kennyo surmised.

“Shall we be on the lookout as well, Abbot?”

“Yes, we must look for her too. That way we can-” but Kennyo stopped mid-sentence as he remembered the girl he met from earlier. He had doubted his beliefs, but now that he had time to make the connection, perhaps it was her.

“I know who she is, and she's headed for Omi.” Kennyo suddenly spoke.

“You do? Then we’ll work out the details now and plan to find her there. If we can capture her successfully, we can avenge the deaths of our brothers in no time.”

“It won’t be easy capturing her if the Oda forces are after her too. We have to make sure that we reach her before they do. Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you. We must find her at all costs.” Kennyo reaffirmed with a dark tone.

As the night grew long, so did the plans for [Name]’s capture. It wouldn’t be long before she, an ordinary historian from modern times, would be the most sought out person in various power circles of Japan’s finest warlords.

A Word of Advice.

Good evening chatelaines,

We see that there’s an appreciation chain post going around the ikesen fandom, and Admin Toreishi and I have noted the sentiment and thank those who have tagged our blog in it. But we also briefly talked about this and I have decided to share some insight with you all.

To content creators (writers, artists, meme creators, etc.), it’s more meaningful to them if you drop a comment on their creation and let them know what you liked about it, your thoughts/feelings on it, etc. It really does motivate us when we read these lovely comments and receive good feedback from our followers/fans/readers/etc. This is our craft that we work on and polish, and we appreciate it when people can admire it and let us know.

However, things such as “please update” or hurtful words aimed at the content creator aren’t really a great starting point to keep content creators around in a fandom. Always be mindful of content creators and their time. If you enjoy what you see, feel free to leave a nice comment or like the post. It’s free of charge and keeps everyone happy.

With that said, we hope you all will understand a little bit better and spread the love for content creators in a more productive and efficient way. It’s not that tagging content creators in appreciation posts is wrong/bad. We just want to remind you all of simple things you can do in the fandom to keep your content creators active and here. Fandoms aren’t forever and people come and go. I hope this advice reaches out to many of you.

Here’s a look of CYBIRD’s booth this year at AX as well as some of the merch I bought from this year. Ladies and gents, I kid you not, I spent probably at least $400 throughout the entire week. But it was fun and amazing to meet other fans and it seems like Ikemen Vampire is quite popular (more so than IkeRev) this year! I’m curious how next year will be?

Some highlights from AX:

Kabedon with Hiroto! I didn’t think I would do it because I always thought it was cheesy, but it was actually quite fun and Hiroto was super sweet and gentle. His contacts and shimmery eyeshadow was pretty to look at while he pushed me back to the wall haha. My sisters couldn’t stop gushing about their experiences too.

This year, CYBIRD gave away ikevamp bags to fans if they subscribed to Aimu Sora’s YouTube channel. On the bag, I had to laugh at the pun they used: “This Game Sucks.” LOL

God, I had no luck pulling Kenshin except for his button. My sisters actually had the lucky touch! However, they were able to pull their favorites with no problem. (Now we have a lot of Yukimura and Mitsunari merch.)

Autograph signing with Utako-sensei! She’s such a lovely woman and I’m so happy that I was able to meet her because she’s the illustrator for B-Project and Aimu Sora! If you haven’t already followed Aimu Sora on YouTube, you should! Her autograph tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes at the booth so I’m glad I was able to snatch one for myself immediately.

Wow! AX attendees are super nice and helpful. I made lots of friends and shared lots of amazing moments with people. Thank you to everyone who approached me for badge trades! You’re all so lovely to interact with and I hope we meet again!

Any Ouran High School Host Club fans? Well, the mangaka, Bisco Hatori, made her first overseas appearance and held a panel for AX attendees! Never in a million years did I think I would see her in person! She’s such a wonderful woman and passionate about her works. I’m so honored to have seen and hear about her process for writing her series. I bought her special edition volume 1 of OHSHC since it was an exclusive. It was so hard to obtain it too. It sold out every day through Viz Media.

CYBIRD’s booth was bigger this year but super crowded on the last day. Even Hiroto and the EN team were shocked by the huge crowd gathering for the stand giveaways.

So many cool cosplayers! I saw a really amazing Masamune, Ieyasu, Hideyoshi, Sasuke, and Mitsuhide cosplay! I’m sad I couldn’t snag photos with them but it’s okay! They were still awesome to see.

CYBIRD fans are crazy ;;; On Day 4, all of the IkeSen and IkeVamp acrylic stands were sold out along with the ikesen buttons. There is a lot of dedication.

Haha, I decided to join the Trivia Game this year and no one knew much about IkeRev ; u ; IkeSen was the go to, but even then, it was a little challenging!

Shoutout to Hiroto for being so amazing and doing last minute autographs for my sisters! He’s a super busy man, but he truly cares for the players and fans.

On the last day, Hiroto came out wearing his Aimu Sora cosplay! He looked super cute as Sora! It definitely fit his style. I’m excited for what he will do as Sora in the future!

No announcement for Ikemen Live like I initially thought! Another game called A3! will be coming out instead, so please look forward to the game this year.

Overall, my experience at AX was better this year and I enjoyed it to the fullest. Hiroto and his team do so many wonderful things, guys. You don’t even know how much work he puts to please us, the players. Yasmin, another EN team member, commented that Hiroto would stay at the office super late until like 1 AM just to plan for things and see it through. It’s no wonder that he always tends to fall ill during AX. He works himself to the bone for us. He already has ideas for next year too and it boggles my mind to even imagine him already thinking about next year. So please, give your support to CYBIRD and thank them for their hard work. It’s super important that we all understand how much is being put into these games. Until next time!

Character Analysis: Mitsuhide

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

It’s pretty long so I threw this whole post under a cut. This is my personal views on Mitsuhide. You are free to disagree with me. I’m still getting to know him and how he really is. I thought I’d share my thoughts on Mitsuhide since his route is coming out soon.

I was rereading an old post in regards to Mitsuhide's personality. Admin Yukari always tells me that she can't stan Mitsuhide because she dislikes his teasing whereas I have already grown used to it. It honestly does not bother me anymore. One thing to keep in mind is that Mitsuhide teases as a form of affection, and in regards to MC, it's how he shows his love for her. He likes her open and honest expressions. If MC stopped reciprocating his teasing, I think Mitsuhide would legitimately begin to worry. Spoiler for his upcoming birthday story, but at this point, MC does not mind his teasing anymore. On the contrary, she looks forward to it. And as Mitsuhide explained to Princess Tsubaki in the latest event, it's normal for him and MC to constantly "bicker" with one another. When MC thinks it's "impossible" to be with Mitsuhide, he always responds with "If you say it's impossible, doesn't it make you want to be more mean?" To put it simply, he wants to tease her some more.

Of course, teasing isn't the only facet to Mitsuhide's character. As he has stated before, he is constantly working in the background. He seems to have his own agenda while serving Nobunaga. Rest assured, it's always to his lord's benefit. What Mitsuhide's goals/ambitions are have yet to be explained, however. From the small glimpses we've had, he views himself as nothing more than a tool of war. He carries out his work efficiently while remaining aware that he can die at any given time. I like to think Mitsuhide embraces death in his own way, but almost like an afterthought. If it happens, it happens. There's no fear or regret. However, MC perceives a sadness in him that she can't quite figure out just yet. Unlike Kenshin, Mitsuhide does not invoke angst but rather a deep, undescribable sadness. I feel like a lot of it has to do with his distancing with those he feels close to.

We've seen it before. Mitsuhide has no qualms in tarnishing his reputation with the general public if it means protecting those he cares about. And the last thing he wants to do is hurt MC in any shape or form. While he lives to tease her, he still is careful not to project his emotions around her getting defensive when MC begings to pry a little too much for his liking. He doesn't like being the center of attention, and would much rather be away from the spotlight prefering to stand in the shadows instead.

Mitsuhide is not just considerate of MC, but of his allies. We've seen him helping from the sidelines more than once. He, too, can get jealous, though. During the Christmas event last year, he wouldn't stop commenting about MC wearing Hideyoshi's haori even when she explained about forgetting her own coat at the castle. Instead, Mitsuhide takes MC to a kimono shop and buys her a beautiful scarf to keep her warm. We see him lamenting the fact that he can't be with her in Hideyoshi's route, but is still happy for the two and wishes them well in their life together.

In Sasuke's route, I was introduced to a new side of Mitsuhide. He's raised suspicion and unease in me in previous routes. Mitsuhide made me feel fear in Sasuke's route. He flung a blade into the ceiling narrowly missing Sasuke who was hiding above, and dragged MC by her arm out of the audience hall threatening to harm her if Sasuke did not appear. He chases Sasuke and MC all over Azuchi without relent dead set in shooting them down. He almost succeded had Sasuke not fooled Mitsuhide with a dummy. Even Mitsuhide laughed at the fact which made him seem all the more chilling to me. However, he won my admiration later in the story when he teamed up with Hideyoshi as they faced off a group of Kennyo's men.

After Mitsunari's route and working my way through Sasuke's route, I began to focus more on Mitsuhide because I desired to get to know him better. To be honest, I am dying to play his route. I try my luck in every event he is in hoping to gleam more of Mitsuhide's personality. That sadness that MC sees in him has me at the edge of my seat wondering what it could all be about. The small snippets we've gotten from his route has me so pumped up ready to delve into his story.

I've been told my portrayal of Mitsuhide is so good, and while it brings me relief, I can't help but think that I can do better. Still, in fanfiction, you're free to do as you want. Want a soft Mitsuhide? Write it. Want a horny Mitsuhide? Write it. Want angsty Mitsuhide? Write it. How we choose to portray Mitsuhide in fanfiction is up to us. And the same goes for the rest of the warlords.

I write Mitsuhide from what has been shown to me in the handful of event stories and routes I had the luck of reading. I may be forgetting some things, but this is just about all I have learned in regards to Mitsuhide so far. We're all entitled to our likes and dislikes, and this is not a plight to get Mitsuhide more fans. Honestly, I don't even know why I started going after Mitsuhide when Nobunaga is supposedly my #1 favorite. Anyways, how you choose to view Mitsuhide is up to you. Whether you like him or not, stan him or don't stan him, love him or hate him, we are all right. Like, I'm still struggling with Kennyo, and he's the last warlord on the list. I don't like Motonari, but I'm still going to embrace him. So, you know, to each their own.

So, to preface my question, I just recently discovered otome games and I've been hooked on them for the past few months. After I realized how much I liked ikemen sengoku, I decided to branch out. Problem is I have little to no way of meeting other fans in person. Im 21 and I work as a battle tower secretary. All my friends are law students and my coworkers are all middle-aged. So my question is; whats the best way to make friends online with other otome addicts? Oh, and i love your blog! -Vic

In the honest truth, the best way to make friends online is to probably just reach out to people first. You can follow people, shoot them a message, and maybe try to strike up a convo from there. Making friends online or in real life still requires you to make a connection with that person and you need to put in the effort to develop it into something deeper. After all, it takes two to tango, right? But of course, since this is the Internet, remember to be wary of how much info you’re sharing with someone else and be safe too! You never really know who you’re talking to when it’s the Internet.

I know that there are discord servers for specific games like Ikemen Sengoku and Mr Love: Queen’s Choice. There are tons of Facebook groups that you can join too. Just keep your eye out for people who are promoting them and ask to join! Or look them up too.

Sometimes if you’re a content creator (writer, artist, etc.) or you make original posts on your Tumblr blog, you’ll have some interaction with your followers or fellow content creators about a series you like too. It’s not a guarantee that everyone will be your friend, but at least you’ve immersed yourself within the community/fandom and can hopefully enjoy your experience from there.

And sometimes trying to make new online friends may not always be successful just like in real life, but that’s okay! This is just the Internet. There are a lot of ways that friendships can develop, so this isn’t the only place. I hope this helps!

hey yukari, did you hear that there is going to be a disney rhythm game with art done by the artist for kurotsuji? ikesen!masa’s va is in it too. i can’t remember the name but if you look it up i’m sure you’ll find it. gomenasai for forgetting!

YOOOO Yes! I did hear about Twisted Wonderland! I’m a huge fan of Disney, Kuroshitsuji, and Yana Toboso’s artwork so you can imagine me screaming with joy with my sisters when I saw the tweets from JP Disney, Yana Toboso, and Kato Kazuki haha. It’s like the strange combination that you would never expect to see in a lifetime?

Toboso-sensei’s art is stunning and never ceases to amaze me. I’ve read Kuroshitsuji since I was like…13? And I turn 21 in June, so it’s been about 8 years since I’ve stuck around for her series (but it’s worth it, she has my loyalty.) Toboso-sensei’s such a busy person too! I’m honestly surprised to see her carry on with a new project and working under Disney, but I’m rooting for her! 

I love that Kato Kazuki was also chosen to voice the main character, Maleus Draconia (Doesn’t he look strikingly close to Sebastian Michaelis?). I’m excited to see who else will be involved in the game! I saw that Natsuki Hanae (Jonah Clemence’s seiyuu from IkeRev) was also revealed in the cast when the character designs for the “Hearts Labyul” dormitory were released. (Haha, it’s like Hanae-san can’t escape from “Queen of Hearts” characters!)

Either way, I’m looking forward to Twisted Wonderland. Cheer Toboso-sensei and Kato-san on with me! Thanks for the chit-chat! :)
