you guys know the s5 scene where catra left adora to die?

here's another thing i noticed.

she's apologizing for dying. while it's really fucked up, it is within adora's character to apologize for something she couldn't control. i can't recall, but she did something similar to glimmer and bow a few minutes prior to this.

however, while the writers may not have intended for this, adora is also apologizing for this:

now, you might be drawing a blank at how this is correlated to her apology, until you remember what exactly catra and adora were talking about here:

adora is about to die.

originally, the conversation was about adora somehow choosing shadow weaver over catra ( which did not happen ), but when catra wasn't winning the argument, she shifted it to be about adora practically being led to her death.

catra's wording starts out as her acknowledging that adora doesn't have a choice in this ( which goes against her earlier reaction to just crying and running away from her when she gets the failsafe ), but then it changes its tune and becomes an accusation of choosing this path, when adora has been forced to take this.

basically, adora is apologizing to catra in the finale as if to prove that catra was right, even though she's literally dying right in front of her.

and catra never apologizes for leaving her.

speaking of which, would this apology even work on catra?

because we all know the real reason she left.

she left because somehow, someway, she twisted the entire conversation and everything related to shadow weaver as adora actively wanting to be around their abusive mother, despite showing multiple cases to catra herself that she doesn't.

adora doesn't like being around shadow weaver. she doesn't like her at all. she may not want the woman to suffer harshly, adora did heal her when she was sick, but she doesn't want to be around shadow weaver if she doesn't have to be.

and catra knows that. there's several instances throughout the show that she's smart enough to see and understand that. she even uses a torture method sw used on her previously on adora and swift wind in the previous season, because she knew it would severely hurt her. especially since catra, for whatever reason, put the electrocution on steroids.

so, it's not like catra has been blind to adora's distaste, she just chooses when to acknowledge it.

catra sees adora eventually dying as 1. choosing to die and 2. choosing shadow weaver over her, in this current scene.

adora has no idea catra thinks this way, so her apology for just dying is not only really fucked up, but is most likely entirely pointless.

these two don't see the same problem. at least, not the exact same one. catra may still be pissed off at adora daring to "choose" the universe over death, for daring to choose the lives of literally everyone on the motherfucking planet over herself, but she's still more upset at adora "choosing" their mother over her.

so, what is adora apologizing for exactly?

yes, for dying, but how does catra see it? knowing catra, the best case scenario is she probably sees it as adora apologizing for being "wrong" ( because she says "no matter what happens, i am staying with you", but then gaslights adora into staying ), and for choosing their mom over her, even though neither of those are true or correlated within the context.

this level of thinking is on par with stans, so i'm not surprised catra herself acts this way.

it sure did hurt my brain when i realized it, though.

it really pisses me off that catra says "i don't have to stay and watch it happen" when she leaves adora.

like, you've abused her, thoroughly, severely, stupendously for years. she still saved you, and you didn't even thank her, instead, you screamed in her face and degraded her. you refused to offer any other mysterious solutions you apparently have when she was going to take the failsafe. you cried like a baby and ran away from her, twice. this entire time, you've made it about yourself, and she still cared and loved you.

you DID owe her to stay and "watch it happen", you fucking brat.

if catra genuinely thought adora left her...

why didn't she just move on?

like, honestly, imagine obsessing over someone you thought hurt you for years after they did it, and who you only have contact with in specific situations or because you pick them out to get at them.

we know it's really her fault that her and adora split up, but she doesn't see it that way. so, if she thinks she's better off with adora...

then be better off without adora?

the c//a // catra // adora editing community is so funny because all of them ( literally all of them ) do at least one of these things:

edit c//a to a song that's either about abusive relationships, broken relationships, nonexistent relationships ( "One Way or Another" is about a stalker, for ex ), or about familial dynamics ( typically siblings, but i've seen c//a being edited to "Mama's Boy" recently ).

the healthy relationship songs they DO use are typically by Taylor Swift and // or are completely tone-deaf to the scenes used.

show adora having a bad time via catra's hands while using some cutesy or romance-angsty lyrics.

edit catra to badass audios, but use scenes where she's clearly NOT having a good time ( i've seen some edits be of her dying or getting beat up ) 🤣.

use 'Toxic' by Britney Spears ironically ( they think this is funny to make fun of antis with, i think??? ).

their edits are so disconnected from everything that it's not even funny, it will just give you an eyesore ( saw an edit with 'Dark Red' by Steve Lacy to an edit that was both badass and romance angst??? ).

if they do show the 'bad side of the relationship', they use songs that typically soften the blow, as if corrupted catra is gonna look any better with Taylor Swift's ricochet song in the background-

if they make a 'badass couple' edit, they use scenes that have one party ( typically catra ) hurting the other instead of standalone scenes or smth.

i noticed that a lot of the 'happy' edits are with a bunch of fanart or of s5. hm. wonder why that is.

use songs for catra edits that really work better with adora ( for ex, "911" by Elise or "Potential Breakup Song" by Aly & AJ ), because the songs would typically be from the victim's POV ( which i find funny in the worst way tbh ).

in the rare case that the stan has awareness of catra's actions, they still edit c//a because they think redeemed catra is fine ( one step forward, five steps back. we sigh. ). or, edit catra because they think she's well-written or smth, idk.

it's just a mess, and it would be even more funny if i didn't feel like a migraine was growing in my brain every time i noticed it.

feel free to mention some others i may have forgotten, 'cause i'm sure i've seen all the types at this point, just don't rmbr them all.

Virtues Universe - A universe that centers around Adora and Catra's ( positive ) sisterly relationship, Catra joining the Rebellion alongside her sister. Includes Adonnie and Catfuma ( Adora x Lonnie, Catra x Perfuma ) and Adora becoming a Rebellion Leader before becoming She-Ra ( in s2 ). I think this is the one AU I have where Catra isn't a bad person, lol.

Her Heart Universe - A universe where Adora is an alien on Earth, and is in the care of Mara and Razz. Includes learning values, social struggles, and episodic stories turning into a serialized "we gotta get our shit together or die" story.

Two Suns Universe - A universe where the key sibling relationship is Adora and Kyle, rather than Adora and Catra. Includes loving siblings, redemption arcs, Crimson Waste Kyle, and Kyle x Rogelio x Bow. Lots of Kyle love.

The Wilted Flower Universe - A universe where Adora's 'dead' ( bc Catra ), but her spirit resides, and She-Ra has taken over her form, desperate to keep her wielder alive. Includes a lot of violence, arguing, and blood, as She-Ra is unhinged in this universe and I love it. Not self-cest or a She-Ra x Adora AU, don't be weird.

Pearl Of The Sea Universe - A universe where Adora is a mermaid and Entrapta finds her in her boss' lab. Includes lovers to enemies to ??? ( entrapdak ), found family, and typical corrupted workforce.

Until It Ends Universe - A universe where Adora suffers from amnesia, She-Ra is an unknown entity, and the only thing she remembers is the Sword of Protection and is meant to serve it and its legacy. Includes folklore, forming friendships, ??? to enemies ( catra ), and discovering lost memories. Inspired by BOTW.

Ready To Go Universe - A modern universe where Adora and co use social media to boost their cafe's reputation. Includes Angella being Adora's mother figure, long distance relationships, found family ( again ), and cutting ties.

The Ghost Of Her Universe - A universe where Adora is a ghost, and a friend of hers tries to figure out how she died. And Glimmer and Bow are there too. Includes abusive background, manipulation of the higher-ups ( SW and Catra don't talk about why she died ), and friendly, but sad ghost.

To Be Loved Universe - A universe in the process of being reworked, but is essentially a s5 rewrite ( with some rewritten details of previous seasons ), and Adora is allowed to swear. Incluces Catra being a cunt and getting told to fuck off, rebuilding friendships, and an unexpected pairing.

Can't Sleep Universe - A universe focused around my c*tradora kid, Elizabeth Randor ( Izzy ), who is very bitter and angry with her parents ( mostly Catra ). Includes abuse, divorce arc ( that's a thing, apparently ), and healing.

The Whispering Woods Universe - A universe where Adora is raised by Madame Razz and Light Hope and is a fierce protector of the Whispering Woods, setting up traps and making spells. She-Ra most likely doesn't exist in this AU. Includes learning about the past, Grandma // Grandkid dynamic, and Adora being a nerd.

Desert's Flowers Universe - A universe where Entrapta raises Adora instead after the little one runs away from the Horde. Includes loving mother, family to complicated, strangers to allies to friends to ??? to enemies ( entrapdak again ), and Horde Prime being a douche.

The Lightning's Song Universe - A universe where Adora was locked away in the Prison Dimension for 100 years, and is considered a 'corrupted heroine'. However, Glimmer and Bow decide to unleash her, hoping she'd be their best bet against the Horde. Includes discovering the truth, unhinged rageful Adora ( we stan ), and earning trust.

The Soulmates Universe - A more historian universe where Adora and Bow have to fake-marry for social reasons, and struggle with internalized queerphobia as they fall in love with people that aren't each other. Includes best friends, what love really means, and identity metaphors.

Cross-Over Universes

Danganronpa - Adora is the Ultimate Warrior, who may be considered the 'second Mukuro', depending on who you ask. Is best friends with Sakura and Hina ( including others ).

Teen Titans - Adora gets involved in a freak accident and is sent to the TT universe and joins the group. Adora x Starfire is a thing.

Sonic the Hedgehog - Light-hearted fun, mainly just Adora thinking Sonic is really cool and vice-versa.

Mario - Again, simply light-hearted fun, Adora thinks Peach is amazing and has her as an idol.

Voltron - I know. I know. But she'd be best friends with Lance, and that's all the reason I need.

if you're a glimmer fan, ignore this.

gonna be honest.

i absolutely hate Glimmer, and not just because of s4.

she was a terrible person from the start and i'll get into why.

i'm going to get into her relationship with Angella another time, because that is a whole mess in of itself [ because of Glimmer ], and deserves its own post.

anyway, Glimmer:

undermines her supposed best friend's [ Bow ] abilities for no reason and doesn't give an actual apology [ her admittance to being wrong also seems really reluctant and annoyed to me ].

has an issue with Bow having friends for some reason, even though this was never brought up in any way before, and uses Adora as a prop to show just how much better fun she's having [ yeah, obsessing over your best friend daring to have fun with someone that isn't you is totally having fun ]. and then when Bow tries to talk to her about, she expects him to apologize [ yes, i know she does apologize for this later, but i hate how she even thinks of this in the first place ].

projects her own insecurities onto her ma like crazy while constantly, constantly going behind angella's back for no fucking reason and being ridiculously reckless, but then whining about how her ma doesn't see her as capable [ this sounds like a familiar cat... ].

this isn't specifically about Glimmer, but it just annoys me how literally almost no one actually helps Adora with Catra constantly harassing and assaulting the poor girl until she's about to die or get kidnapped, like what the hell?

'Ties That Bind' is another episode that was a complete waste of time and did nothing but paint how annoying and asshole-y Catra, Glimmer, and even Bow, unfortunately, are.

'Roll With It' Glimmer [ and everyone else, but Glimmer's a streak atp ] can actually kiss my ass, because this is not what you do in a war or when someone is having a panic attack about someone trying to kill them and everyone else.

no one talks to Adora about White Out. ever. what kinda friends are you?

Glimmer continues undermining Angella and doing stupid ass shit, like letting Shadow Weaver power her up [ yes, this could've been an arc and, maybe, about one where Glimmer would eventually understand what Adora had gone through, but that didn't happen, and she put pretty much everyone in danger by trusting SW. and yes, i'm aware Glimmer apologized to Angella in the fake reality thing, but i don't buy it ] and leaves her ma with the belief that she's a coward [ when Angella's one of the most logical characters out of the cast ].

i'm tired of people saying that Glimmer was manipulated by SW in s4, and that's why she let SW walk whenever she wanted, when in previous seasons, Glimmer has repeatedly brought up how manipulative the woman is and WATCHED HER TRY TO WIPE ADORA'S MIND. Glimmer has no excuse other than doing it just because she wants to and think her rights are of no consequence.

i don't care what people say, Glimmer's plan was stupid. either the planet would die, or they would win. if they were [ realistically ] pushed into a corner, then maybe i can see that being an option they would have to consider. but Glimmer is clearly a 'my way or the highway' kind of person and doesn't even bother listening to her supposed best friends.

manipulates Adora into trusting her with the "i know you don't trust Shadow Weaver [ reasonably. and why do you trust her? she gave you power? ooohhh, wow, it's not like anybody else in your family could've have done that ], but can't you trust me" bullshit. like, wow. honestly wow. the audacity if you.

'Mer-Mysteries' and 'Boy's Night' Glimmer can actually get kicked in the nards. "she was acting" yeah, duh, but did y'all forget that it was heavily implied ( by DT and the expressions on both of her and Adora's faces ) that they were at least somewhat speaking from the heart, and Adora was genuinely hurt when Glimmer said the most inane bullshit i have ever heard [ seriously, her and Catra could be buddies at this point ] by implying Adora wanted to be SW's favorite?

blames her for Angella's death. "she realized she was wrong almost immediately aft-" guess what? still doesn't take it back. especially since Adora watched her die.

uses abuse of power via using her Queen status to prevent Adora and Bow from leaving Brightmoon to rescue Entrapta [ and insults the grown ass woman while she's at it ], and it's really obvious that it was because they told her she's wrong [ and she is ]. because she goes to Light Hope with the intention of proving Adora wrong.

uses Scorpia's insecurities to get her to use the Black Garnet. Catra literally did the same thing in Princess Prom.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, the entire planet is about to die and the Princesses are getting injured by Glimmer's stupid ass decision that her best friends literally told her would have severe consequences.

manages to avoid severe consequences because even though the world nearly died, there's no civilians to criticize her and rightfully hate her for what she did.

i hate her apology to Adora, not only because it's shoddy at best, but also because Adora immediately forgives her [ like Catra ], even though she was deeply hurt by what Glimmer said and did [ like Catra ].

I HATE HER CONVERSATION WITH BOW. it sounds like she's allowing him to be angry for, idk, nearly destroying the world and pretty much giving out the location of Etheria to Horde Prime, and then she's immediately rewarded with his forgiveness. fuck off.

instead of consoling Adora for being frustrated with Catra after she risked her life to save the ungrateful little shit, Glimmer instead borderline defends her [ or at least undermines Adora's anger ] by going "lol, did you think she'd become a different person after we risked our lives saving her 🤪".

Glimmer and Bow are Catra's ass-kissers now. shocker. and they don't take anything seriously anymore unless the plot calls for it. also shocker.

why does she say [ in the Heart 1 episode ] "it isn't going to work"??? like, it kinda sounds like she'd consider it. which, if you do, just say that atp.

and, just like catra, says Adora left them.

that's not all she did, obviously, and i know she's like this because of the show, yada yada, but i just really hate her.

test design for a new OC - Vivian

"though you look alike, you're nothing like her, are you?"

[ EDIT - i actually don't like this drawing, but i drew this at 2 am w/ insomnia brain, so it gets a pass, i guess. ]

Vivian may look familiar, and that is because she's Catra's twin sister. and, despite how she looks, they're not identical twins. she is the older twin.

and don't let her looks fool you, she can be just as ferocious as her sister, if not more so, if you teeter her over the edge. Catra certainly has and Vivian hasn't regret her actions so far.

here's some trivial information on my character and some info-nuggets of her story.

taller than Catra

MtF lesbian ( the entire family is of women )

is from the Crimson Waste

is a scrapper

has shorter claws than Catra does ( retracts them )

despite the image above, she's very upfront and bordering on aggressive with her thoughts and feelings ( she's also buff )

doesn't like Scorpia

gets into fights with Catra almost daily ( physical or otherwise )

was brought in via arrest, but was eventually forced to work for the Horde in order to live

has lost two lives ( one by Catra, one by Hordak )

Vivian would be introduced somewhere around s1-s2, i think. she doesn't get along with her twin at all, and most of that is because Catra doesn't care for her bio-family, when Vivian had practically dropped everything and everyone to see her.

for a while, people confuse her for Catra ( esp Adora ), and gets personally attacked a few times. after, like, the third time, she changes her appearance enough for people to tell the differences and to stop attacking her for things her sister did.

here's her first meeting with Adora ( text ):

Adora - ! Catra.

Vivian - [ holding a drink that's definitely not for children or for her ] 'M not her. Thought you two grew up together.

Adora - ...So, what, you're her sister or something?

Vivian - By blood. By every other definition, she's nothing to me.

Adora - ... Are you...okay?

Vivian - Why do you care? [ takes a swig ] Ain't you on the good side?

Adora - Yes, but... ! Wait, the good side? So, you know what the Horde's doing too?

Vivian - Obviously.

Adora - Then why are you with them?

Vivian - Last I checked, that's none of your business. [ curls up ] Either kill me or leave me alone.

Adora - ...You're not going to do anything?

Vivian - I'm 'off-duty'. There's nothing for me to do.

Adora - ... Okay. Um... I can't just leave you here, though.

Vivan - Then I'll leave. Unless you wanna stop me. [ gets up and walks away ] What's your name...? Oh, right. [ looks back ] Bye, Adora.

Adora - ! [ tries not to shudder as she leaves ] ...Bye.

very awkward, very weird, Adora probably shouldn't have let her get away, but that's a consequence for future Adora and Vivian. maybe. if any consequence ever happens, hehe.

there's Vivian, short-form.

orphan that struggles with death and abandonment.

drinks when she shouldn't.

is very angry and upset.

and absolutely hates her sister.

i wonder what will become of her 🤔

So what plans do you have for your remake/rewrite of SPOP (Ex, plot and character directions, lore changes, etc)

for future asks, keep in mind that this account is going to be mainly centered around the original she-ra show ( from the 1980s ). so, if i'm misunderstanding the question and it is about the original, i apologize, but i won't be able to discuss that at this moment.

however, in the meantime, you are all free to ask me anything spop-related, including how i would rewrite it.

keep these in mind, though:

i'm mainly going to be sticking to the general route spop went with, so that will mean there may not be as many references or details from the OG as desired.

i will make these posts specific to one aspect at a time ( for ex, this one will simply be about adora and catra's characters, developments, and relationship ), rather than making a very long and very winded post about everything i'd do.

there's going to be 'fundamental' changes ( even though i don't necessarily consider most of them fundamental, as this show is a dumpster fire and a half anyway ).

like i said in the second point, i'll be answering this question with my personal changes to adora, catra, and their dynamics.

[ keep in mind that in all of my spop // she-ra content, adora is not white, and is POC in one way or another. in the spop-specific universe, she is Asian Latin-coded. ]

[ LONG READ ]

adora - quiet, reserved, and subtle in her kindness. eager to make her superiors proud and to achieve true justice, adora is often described as the prodigy of the horde. however, in catra's eyes, she is merely a relentless people-pleaser, foolish and naive.

catra - snarky, lazy and egotistical. often putting others down, figuratively or otherwise, for fun and thrives on opportunity. especially if she can manipulate someone to do what she wants. in adora's eyes, she can be kind, has potential, but simply lacks motivation.

in the beginning, adora is introduced in a personal training course, tested on efficiency, stealth, and strength. shadow weaver and hordak are watching her, noting how strong she has become from her time as a sickly young child.

[ in this rewrite, adora had become sick as a baby after her transport from eternia. reasons why are unclear. ]

nearing the end of her training, it is revealed catra has been watching the entire time, mindlessly scratching her nails together. does she have a plan?

by the end, adora inevitably succeeds and is sent off to her locker room, told that hordak will personally discuss her progress with her.

[ a detail that would be shown is a branded horde symbol over her back, rather than on her shirt. ]

adora and catra's relationship introduction is when catra pops up from behind her and jokes about how stupid she looked while training, teasing about how adora thinks of herself as so serious and so cool. adora doesn't respond, used to her insults, but is visibly disappointed in catra for sneaking in again, shaking her head with a quiet sigh.

shadow weaver walks in, and is furious at catra's defiance, but the feline teen manages to get out of the trouble by insisting she is merely observing the prodigy at work for her own training. "she's going to be our force captain, after all," catra says, smirking. though she is flippant and full of crap, shadow weaver only sighs in irritation before telling adora she must come along.

during her meeting with hordak, the speech is very generic promotional talk, but the body language between the two establishes that they're a lot closer than originally thought.

[ in this scene, hordak would place his hand on adora's cheek, almost like how shadow weaver would. though, it's not necessarily out of manipulation, and rather genuine fondness for adora. ]

adora leaves the meeting with her very first big smile, and with the badge in hand.

at adora's promotion, catra slowly claps with another smirk. "oh, i'm so surprised the prodigy has actually been successful," she teases, but adora only shows mild agitation and ignores her comment. catra pretends she's thinking, before suggesting that adora could put in a word for her to hordak as well.

it's only then that adora speaks. "you're better than that catra." and catra merely rolls eyes before she begins. she curls her tail around adora's wrist as she circles around her, assuring that she has been training and doing well.

"reports from octavia say otherwise," adora counters, visibly annoyed that catra is now lying. with a tsk, catra simply says that octavia only reports her as such because fish-eye doesn't know the difference between smarts and constantly punching fists.

adora and catra go back and forth, with adora insisting that she has to be a team player and can't just rely on everyone else to do her dirty work. that it won't be that way outside, on the field. catra argues that adora has no idea what's out there, that anything goes in battle, and if she can prevent herself from getting dirty, she'll do just that.

"and what will you do if no one's there?" adora asks, angered, shaking, and near tears. "you won't always have the odds in your favor, catra! one mistake, and you could die!" catra says nothing for a few moments, blinking, as if adora is overreacting, before groaning once more and leaping out of sight, adora calling out for her.

adora and catra 'reconcile' through adora's apology for overreacting, but says that she's just worried about her. catra tells her there's nothing to worry about, and that she has her own strengths. she's simply gonna die of boredom if she doesn't get outta here.

[ this isn't meant to be a good scenario, just to be clear. catra doesn't apologize for freaking adora out, for pushing boundaries, or even just generally being rude. ]

due to her guilt, adora decides to do something she is visibly hesitant about. with a reluctant sigh, she forces a smile and pulls out skiff keys. "only a peek," she insists.

the skiff scene is essentially the same, except when they get to the whispering woods, adora starts receiving flashes of a sword and someone holding it. it worries her, and she is about to go back, but catra grabs the gear and sends them flying into the woods.

the whispering woods is more dangerous and thick with greenery, catra's speed and insistence leading to the two receiving scrapes and bruises before adora gets hit by a branch, her body sent flying off the skiff and landing on the ground.

when catra finds adora, it's in a bombed town, and adora is stuck in shock. there is blood on her cheek. catra is confused and tries to pull on her, telling her to get up so they can go back home, but adora gets out of her hold and crawls towards a destroyed house.

a child's corpse.

catra winces, saying that the real thing is much more disturbing. adora looks back at her, still shocked, but holding anger.

"the real thing?" she chokes out, tears in her eyes. catra realizes she messed up, just for a few seconds, before feigning confusion. "uh, duh. what, did you just figure it out?" adora is shaking.

standing up, her legs twitch and tremble. "they've been messing with our heads since we were kids. thought you knew that by now." it doesn't make any sense. but she's digging her heels in.

"how could you possibly be okay with that?!" adora shouts, violently shivering in terror and rage, catra taken aback. she's never raised her voice towards anyone, let alone her.

does anyone else know? lonnie, kyle, rogelio, octavia, did everyone know? was it just her?

"adora, c'mon, it doesn't matter what they do." catra puts her hand on adora's cheek, smiling. "the two of us look out for each other. and soon, we'll be the ones calling the shots anyway." adora's eyes get almost impossibly wider, her tears flow continuous.

catra asks if they can go home already, and more bombs go off behind them. adora flinches, and pulls away from catra, who tries to reach for her anyway.

she insists she is never going back to the horde. it's no longer her home. not after everything she's seen. in a feeble attempt, she hesitantly takes catra's hand.

"come with me... we don't have to go back there. we can fix this."

catra is in her own shock before a snarl washes over, snatching her hand out of adora's grip.

"you've known these people for a couple of hours and, what, you're gonna throw everything away for them?! what's gotten into you?!"

it's then adora's eyes dull, and she realizes it might be too late.

but she has to do something.

turning away, she meekly apologizes to catra and walks. electricity burns through her blood, her veins, her eyes glowing momentarily before she collapses onto the ground.

catra glares.

from this point on, adora and catra's relationship severs.

s1 is, more or less, adora being stuck in a limbo, wanting to cling onto the idea of catra being a good person, just not having the chance, just being misunderstood, just adora not pushing her. she's desperate, scared even, but she attempts three or so times to convince catra.

and they're all futile.

catra is set on taking over the horde on her own, and taking revenge on adora for throwing everything away for 'stupid ideals', while solidifying her relationship with shadow weaver ( won't confirm whether or not it's good for her, but let's say it's complicated ).

in the beginning, she patronizes adora, treating her like a stupid, naive child who simply doesn't understand the ways of the world. her and shadow weaver 'mother gothel' adora, basically.

but by the end, both of them treat adora as disposable, merely something for benefit, while she is completely broken, terrified, and alone in her pain.

s1 would most likely be one of the worst seasons for adora's psyche, as she is constantly manipulated, gaslit, and victimized by the people she loved and cared for very much ( with the complicated exception of hordak ).

there is no 'power of friendship' rainbow ending. they win, but adora won't be the same. and, maybe, to some extent, that's a good thing. but it'll take her a long time to heal.

feel free to ask more for specifics of s1 and onward, including adora's relationships with glimmer and bow, the other princesses, etc. if asked, i'll talk about how adora and catra's relationship practically burns in a fire-

some of those fundamental changes i mentioned:

mara and adora are the only ones in the she-ra line ( it is by blood, because it's the easiest answer )

perfuma and entrapta are not princesses

everyone is 18 or older ( including frosta, sorry )

this is more of a visual thing, but the cast would be more fantastical looking ( for ex, frosta is a white-furred magicat, perfuma is based off a moth orchid, etc. )

most of the ships won't be canon
