How long were Thrawn and Ezra floating through space together?

What was the aftermath like? Thrawn isn’t the type to try and kill a teenager after the battle’s over but he’s TICKED and he already shot Ezra in the back.

(Imagine Ezra casually deflects the blasterfire until he stops lol)(does he even have his lightsaber with him i forget)

If they were there for longer than a week I think Thrawn probably told Ezra a lot about art. I know his crew also got carried away but the idea that he only has Ezra there to infodump to just kills me. They probably also discussed how Sabine and Hera are the coolest (since Thrawn can’t stop complimenting them in the show).

Anyway, I hope Ezra comes back in one of the upcoming shows and treats Thrawn like a weird former roommate he didn’t like but ended up getting along with through sheer proximity. And he knows way too much about art.

gotta say the high republic books retroactively establishing the Graf family as a major player in the “Hyperspace Rush” makes the adventures in wild space series like. horrifically uncomfortable. we jump from “the family we’re supposed to be rooting for has, prior to this series, spent their lives profiting off of the highly lucrative sale of information about vulnerable, underdeveloped planets to the highest bidder, up to and including imperial superpowers” to “the nine- and ten-year-old protagonists of this young reader series are the direct bloodline heirs of a colonial legacy that has possibly persisted unbroken for like 500 years”

Htn is about grief but it's also like. Harrow does one thing to preserve someone she cares for and Immediately loses respect, is marked for death, and becomes alienated not just from her peers but from her former self. And it wasn't even intended as some type of rebellion against her society because she still falls in line with imperial goals throughout the book. It was an act of preservation so personal it didn't even disrupt the workings of her society. and she's still completely alienated from it as a result. All she had to do was care for a second about someone else's existence and she experiences immediate negative results. The grief is not limited to the personal because it can't be, because Gideon's life was meant to be subsumed by harrow for imperial goals and it wasn't, so now someone has to pay. So as readers we're experiencing Harrow's grief and the grief of the situation behind it, and Muir is STILL reminding us through the very structure of the novel (narrative payoff/lighter tone the second gideon arrives) that the important thing is, Gideon's soul has survived. The reason harrow doesn't accept Gideon's death (on a narrative level) isn't Just that she is stewing in grief or unable to move on. She can't accept Gideon's death without accepting the terms under which it happened, the conditions that made it possible. So now we have a commentary not on Terrible Ways To Deal With Grief but on the ways personal loss becomes political in a society where death is necessary to propel the empire

I loved Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries and Map of Otherlands SO MUCH. Wendell and Emily are so cute. The perfect blend of cottage core and dark academia which I love. (It’s great to be immersed in academia and not have to write any papers yourself, 10/10)

Of course greenery all over for the fae, a brooch of Shadow, a manuscript and spelled pencil, and a pin of a needle, leaves, and thread for these beautiful, unique, and complex characters and their world where faeries are not only real but a thing to write a dissertation over. I absolutely cannot wait for book three and all the future stories to come!

(Side note I swear he’s not wearing a leather jacket its just that I thought Wendell deserved a fancy coat and here we are 😂)

Four episodes into The Children's Adventure, and yeah, the story - the twisting and weaving of words to breathe forth the images and wonder - yeah, that's ruining me. But not as much as the gasps, the murmurs, and the unbridled sobbing of the players as they push onward in this journey - knowing full well that sometimes you give of your heart in order to see the beauty of the broader, bigger, unknown world.

Just got through some playthroughs of 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, and Trilby's Notes, and now I'm wondering how the Chzo Mythos isn't an embedded part of tumblr culture.

#i havent even gotten through 6 days a sacrifice yet! #literally the only reason that Trilby isnt a tumblr sexyman is because the Chzo Mythos are adventure games #and not some kind of webcomic or short horror story #like just off the top of my head. the main character is a pretentious self insert #there's a gay couple in the 1800s who accidentally unleash a death god or whatever #there's a flirty history student who drinks too much (giving her plenty of angst potential) #there's the opening sequence of Trilby's Notes which could easily get an entire theory post #it's weird supernatural murder mysteries (one is set in space!) #there's a teenage boy who thinks Trilby is the best shit since sliced bread (easy dark-fic shipping material) #the whole thing is very early-2000s millennial and it's just wild that Tumblr hasnt been exposed to them somehow
