I was so happy when I read it; I love darker Naruto in the fics. I love how the writer decided to encapture their dynamic with a lot of angst, passion, and open questions. This question is terribly hard to answer bc I've written over 600k in 1,5 years and I can't remember all of it 😂 but something I really liked is from my kinktober again:

“He didn’t, right? Maybe he can join now,” Naruto says, propping his elbow on Sasuke’s chest and leans his palm against his jaw. Then the clone dissipates. Sasuke watches Naruto combing through the clone’s fragmented memories, how he pieces it together. He looks at the empty chair and Sasuke under him. “You sneaky fuck,” Naruto says in disbelief.

How To Break a Mask by KinomiAkai(@kinomiakai) An incident at the festival on Oct. 10th reveals that there is a lot that everyone doesn't know about Naruto. Smart!Naruto, SasuNaru/NaruSasu - This is the first fanfiction I read about child neglect in this fandom. It made so much more sense than how it was sugarcoated in canon. Protective Uchiha is also there, protecting our small sunshine. It is also refreshing to read about smart Naruto. river bank by Bibirikun "No one was coming. The kids and their parents were home, the grown-ups were probably in restaurants and the trail by the river was empty. It was just Naruto and Sasuke. The little blond lifted his foot to walk away, but as soon as he did, he noticed the surface of the river wrinkling. Naruto stopped for a moment, his breath stuck in his throat and he pressed his lips together as guilt and sadness was spreading into his guts. The young Uchiha was crying." A short story about how Naruto and Sasuke had been there for each other, even as kids. _ They are orphans, they have no other family, and the only thing they have are these small interactions between each other. Kyuubi | Nine-tails | Kurama Appreciation Post

Apparently, I have a thing for feral Naruto, who gains his animalistic traits from being Kurama's vessel; snarky remarks from Kyuubi; them working together; or Kurama being on his own discovering what it means to be human.

Some of these fics are very popular, but I post them mostly to digitalize my reading diary<3.

A Cage, a Bargain, and Vengence by GoldenEyesObsession(@goldeneyedkim) Konoha has cost Sasuke everything--his clan, childhood, and brother. To pay them back, he searches out a figure of legend: The vessel of the Nine-Tails, the creature that nearly once destroyed Konoha in its early days, and the one responsible for the destruction of Uzushio. If anyone will help him level the village, surely the Nine Tails' vessel will. And if he demands a price, Sasuke will gladly pay it. - Naruto is feared for being the vessel of Ninetails and thus was locked up for decades; he has animalistic traits, is nearly immortal and chooses Sasuke as his reward for destroying Konoha. This fanfic has fantastic storytelling, character description and... well, smut. It is NaruSasu only. I don't get why there is such a small amount of Kudos. Kurama takes up the distasteful task of being a matchmaker for his Jinchuuriki, because clearly Naruto has no taste whatsoever in romantic partners. Honestly, the things he suffers through for the kit! - This is so funny, fluffy and sweet. Kurama is in denial that sns is a thing. I just love their interactions so much. Kurama's still getting the hang of this 'human' thing, but given that he's 30 years back in time with catastrophes to prevent and a blond brat to save, he'll have to figure things out on the fly. Luckily, living with Naruto's been good for his ability to improvise, if nothing else. - Main paring is Kurama/Kakashi. This has sns in the background, but mainly it is a time-travel fix-it with Kurama being sent back in time in Naruto's body. It is one of the best time travel and must-read in Naruto's fanfiction. Interaction between Kurama and small Naruto is way too sweet and foxes!!! The story, a slow burn, follows him and an unaware Naruto as they continue their journey, accompanied by their protective Kyuubi and a lovable coon cat. Wrapping up this slow burn, Naruto gifts Sasuke a house, a gesture that signifies their bond. It is refreshing to read about soft Uchiha and intelligent Naruto. Biggest, healthiest(they visit a therapist!), mostly SasuNaru, modern AU fanfiction

It is twice the size of "War and Peace" by Tolstoy, almost 1 million words. As a person who read "War and Peace" in original ~ in Russian ~ in 8 days, I read "Secret Love" by Dhampir (Dhampire) in 5 days. It is just this good. This is getting together fanfic, so please be aware of it. But it is indeed a happy ending. There is no magic in how they solve their problems in their relationship, all ugly feelings and trauma - these things are there, but so is the therapist! I can't tell you enough about how knowledgeable the author is; kink for foreign languages is just a chef's kiss. Of course, there is smut of the highest quality. Summary

Sasuke enjoys his quiet, reclusive life as a historian and professor at Boston University. He spends his days alone and content among his books translating and delving into his love, ancient Japanese history and lore. Everything is just how he likes it until a blue-eyed, blonde-haired man changes everything.
