I do think there’s a degree to which it’s fine to like. Involve yourself with the existence of Harry Potter because pretending like this massive series never existed and had no impact on anybody is a fool’s errand and people simply aren’t going to abandon something like that wholesale. But I really do think that you should not spend your money on it PERIOD because part of what has maintained the popularity of the world is how insanely marketable it is. Like the universe itself and the houses and all that is just. Endless streams of merch. And if it sells then they make more forever and JKR gets all that money and funnels it back into her transphobia.

Hello, it's me again, pouring some of my gelatinous brain into your inbox. I just wanted to share some personal headcanons about the FOWAU and see what you thought of them.

I'd like to think that Melody and Overlord have *some* bond between them, but it's not fully romantic. At the end of the Wreckers series, when Megan reveals himself as Overlord, that he still has some attachment to Melody and tries to protect her. Not in like, an overly protective gesture but more of a subtle move to not have her add to the collateral damage. And to shift away from what is canon for a moment, ideally Overlord and Melody could maintain contact as close friends, like a qpr! In all honesty, I'd just like Melody to have a big murder friend (all their interactions are all so sweet). Still, imagining the potential angst is good too. I'd imagine after Megatron's attack on Earth, she has a healthy dose of sheer terror of Cybertronians and having to deal with the fact that her boss, and potentially someone she was close with, is a Cybertronian would be nice to see. You also mentioned that Melody is a mother(?) And I'd think OL would make an awesome uncle.

To anyone who feels the desire to compare a friend’s/admired creator’s original character with an already existing character... don’t. This has been a PSA.

#Blooming where I'm planted #I get that this doesn’t come from a bad place most of the time. Perhaps an OC someone made has elements of a character you really like... #...and want to tell them how they remind you of said character and that it really makes your day. #That’s all fine and good but in the grand scheme of things the most likely result of you telling a creator this is that... #...they may become a little more self-conscious about their originality. As creators we yearn to be as original as possible. #Sure not everything will be 100% original - many characters have been created using influences of other characters... #...and even some real people. However - we all want our characters to at least be a UNIQUE combination of inspired elements. #So to be told that an original character looks or acts like an already existing character - it can really put a damper on things... #...as well as make us question our entire creative process. #However - one comparison-related compliment you can give that feels like a true compliment in my experience... #...is one pertaining to the ‘feel’ or ‘essence’ of your characters. #I’ve been told that my art is akin to Pop Art and 1980′s cartoons on separate occasions and those were honestly some of... #...the best compliments I have ever received regarding the ‘feel’ of my work. I’ve even been told that my work looks like the stuff... #...professional animators make - and I was on Cloud 9 for what felt like ages afterward. #So if you feel the need to compare - the best thing you can do IMO is to just keep it to yourself. Save a creator the artistic stress. #Instead - tell them what their style or the way their work ‘feels’ like. You’ll be far more likely to get a smile from a creator this way. #Also this is referring to those who actually TRY to have their characters be original.
