Linked maze updated which means I'm back! :D

Hello Linked Maze fans! :D

Linked Maze returns with scent pt10, which means I am back to ramble about the small details in the comic because I enjoy it!

If you dont know what Linked Maze is, It's a links meet comic. About the links in a maze.... Self-explanatory really, but trust me it's amazing and I love it. It's great! But also for more mature audiences, so do take care and heed the creator's warnings before going in!

Importantly - Linked Maze and all the art belongs to @linked-maze and its artist @frulleboi, this chapter also had a guest artist, so the second page's art is done by @marenwithanm. And thanks again for the permission to do this! I really enjoy making them!

With that out of the way, My timer is set, grab some snacks and a drink of your choice! And lets get started! :D

We begin with the small bean

Aww four, just wanted his sword back. Also here to straight up appreciate the detail with the little ticktacktoe on the scabbard of his sword i love him dearly.

Wolfie looks both Done and worried at the same time.

Also, them discovering Sky's sailcloth! I'm so excited about this okay I want these two groups to find each other so bad.

Also, I was interested cause I dont think we've seen the sailcloth in the story yet. So it's fascinating that it's here. I blame Angel, she has shenanigans that I think work for this. Like imagine when we see Sky and he's like the fuck why do you have my sailcloth I've not seen it since I got here, type thing.

There's a bunch to unpack here, so just give me a moment.

That's not Sky's sword.

That's Twilight's sword.

The wrappings on the blade and the markings we see on it later match Twilight's sword. (From the character reference sheets.)

Do you have any idea how excited I was when I saw this? Then saw Wolfie's face like

Why the fuck is that there?

I think this tells us two things.

Twilight/wolfie is now able to be armed. So he's got the capability to fight without the wolf form now. So he might transform soon!

Angel/ djævel are using the hero items to bring the groups together for some reason.

But now im considering the implications of having these specific items here. Like, Thats an item from a character from some of the major groups that we know off right now.

Twilight's sword(Twilight, wind) / Sky's sailcloth (Sky,wild,Time) / Four's sword (four, warrior)

Was the idea for them to find it, or for just one of the groups to find it so that they could find the others.

Something to think about.

A sword planted into the ground with an important item beside it... a sword who they dont know its owner. Its owner who to them could be dead?

Twilight is the only one who know's his sword after all.

Again with the sad wolfie ears, they give me life okay I love him.

Good on Wind for being the one to lead the charge, we need a good vibe like Wind to get us through the shenanigans that I'm sure are going to ensue.

Again Twilight is looking towards his sword. When you think he would be looking towards Wind at this point. But his eyes appear to be looking towards the markings on the sword.

I love his shocked face. He's like

I can't track myself...

Totally not me going to be using this reaction when someone asks me to do something.

Wolfie is the real MVP of this chapter let me tell you right now.

I love this lot they are wonderful

Yes, you look to your sword and think about what you've done.

Sniff sniff out the cinnamon roll wolfie, find him!

Oh man, this update was fun, I got so unbelievably excited about the sword like it's great to basically have a confirmation about something that's been rotating around in my brain since we saw it before.

Yeah, I know this is a few days late. But this drawing took me a lot more time than I anticipated, and the executives weren't always functioning, so it is what it is.

It's hard to believe that I only started posting art Rise art in late September, and have already gained a modest following. I have @onejellyfishplease to thank for a lot of that, I believe. I would often make fanart for them and when they reblogged it I'd receive a significant spike in notes, and sometimes a new follower. So thank you, Jelly!

Jelly is also the one who encouraged me to make Tabletop Turtles, the first AU I've made since I was 12! And now I'm starting to be able to carve out my own following without needing to ride on Jelly's coattails.

Speaking of TTAU, how about an update? [Under the cut]

TTAU is still very much in development, though I'd say it is now out of the conceptual stage and is now in the planning stage. I've got many ideas for the story and am currently in the process of organizing those ideas into a rough outline and filling in some blanks.

The story of TTAU will retell the plot of the show, reimagined by the fantasy setting and different dynamics created by the separated AU aspect. Plus, with some of my own subplots and worldbuilding thrown in as well.

All that to say; this story will not be short. In classic Me fashion, I've managed to take a simple concept and turn it into an epic-length story. Because I'm incapable of telling short stories, apparently.

So, the comic probably won't be ready to start for at least a couple more months. I am a plantser, who leans a little more towards outlining, so I don't want to jump into the story without at least a general idea of where I'm going. I'll try to keep making some art for TTAU in the meantime.

And, because this is my first time ever making a comic, and literally every comic making advice video ever practically begs you not to start with a long comic, I'll be making several short comics as practice. I'll probably start with simple comic strips, work my way up to short stories. Some might be related to TTAU, but most probably won't.

Thank you for your patience, and your encouragement! Especially to @overthinkingspark-blue, @idk-im-just-here-now, @starsandspacefog, and @varianlikescheese! This idea would have fizzled out a long time ago without you guys bouncing my excitement back at me and keeping this flame burning.

which korean webnovels you should read: the elise guide. my only authority is that im very autistic over each of these things and have gotten very far into all. if you see this in the tags no you dont this is for my mutuals!!!

the starter: orv. the gateway drug of webnovels. tumblrs favorite. i cant write a better pitch than whats already been said. yes it is longer than the bible but thats rookie numbers. read if you like found family full of assholes, unreliable narrators, and plot twists youll be thinking about for days and picking your memory apart with a fine tooth comb over.

the wish fulfillment: tcf. guy accidentally adopts three children and several adults. he just wants to chill but he keeps being forced to save the world. very well written every chapter makes me giggle and kick my feet. 800+ chapters and ongoing but im fucking committed. read for a pathetic sopping wet meow meow who everybody instinctively wants to protect despite him paradoxically being weak and able to kick their asses. he takes his kids on family fieldtrips to loot and murder across several universes.

the kpop: dod. its funnier if you dont know a damn thing about kpop but is more understandable if you do. guy has to debut as a kpop idol, or die trying. title self explanatory. its balls to the walls ridiculous but simultaneously really sad. the protag suffers everyday but its funny as he does it. really realistic depictions of korean stan twitter and all internet in general. guy begrudgingly gets friends against his will but is okay with it eventually

my roman empire: sssrh. i will die out of excitement if you read this. guy kills himself 4000 times, kills someone else for revenge, and then is normal again. well not normal entirely hes still messed up from killing himself 4000 times but yknow. he is the nicest little guy ever and gets many friends after never having any. he also gets a husband (wife) who he loves so much its known everywhere. he tries to give lesbian god therapy, and makes all his enemies like him eventually because he keeps resurrecting them. except for the guy he killed himself a million times to kill he makes him dance perpetually and work in a cafe. the comic is also fantastic it has recently adapted the part where [my mouth is covered because i will talk about it for hours] at its core the message is humans need connections to be stable and it says a fuck ton of stuff about family i want to elaborate on but my brain is too jumbled. read it read it read it ill stab myself out of joy if you do

Made a simple little art recap for this year!

(a little bit of analysis under the cut)

So, this has been the first year I made such a huge body of work this consistently..... and its really really baffling to me that I was able to do it all so consistently. Even through being sign and through having wrist issues.

This specifically doesn't include my pokemon illustrations, which I think I will make a second post for. But....... damn.... I am just so happy and grateful that I am able to create again.

as a whole, i can definitely see the improvement, mostly in my rendering style. I'm a bit more bold with my shading than I was a the beginning, which I think has been giving things more depth. I know one thing I want to do for 2024 is improve my shading/learn to keep light sources more consistent. I also want to play with different colored lighting!

So, I'm already playing with backgrounds and fully illustrated scenes, but i definitely want to try doing more like... rooms and indoor scenes.

I'd also like to draw more for myself! I have a lot to work on for my twitch stream, but Im really excited to do it. Like... genuinely really excited to keep doing art and getting better. waah!

Anyway, my art goals for this year are these:

-take time to draw more for myself beyond twitch stuff/pokemon illustrations -Do more buildings/indoor backgrounds -Try out 3D stuff -Start the damn comic I've been wanting to work on forever

Title: Butt Kacchan! (Slight N/S\F/W)

This is it. This is his moment. His chance. And fuck you if you think Katsuki isn’t going to take it.

Earlier today when Katsuki stepped on to the plane after Izuku he hadn’t expected it would be the best day of his life. Honestly, he was fucking PISSED he had to get up at the ass crack of Dawn to fly to this shitty convention.

To make matters worse this plane was SMALL. Two seats on each side leaves very little room for two fully grown muscular pro Heros but they will have to make it work since PR, other Heros, and several other extras were joining the wonder duo on this trip.

The two pros have been commissioned to show up and give a speech or two and answer questions along with sign autographs and Katsuki wasn’t able to refuse Izukus big ass eyes filled with excitement over being able to do a meet and greet with hero fans. The “But Kacchan! We never got to do something like this when we were kids! Imagine how excited these people will be!! I know I would have fainted to be able to get all my favorite hero’s autographs in one place!” Pretty much sealed the deal for him because somehow at the prime age of 22 he’s unable to refuse anything Izuku wants. Fucking simp.

Sitting in the cramped uncomfortable seat has put Katsuki on the verge of exploding. First of all he hates being trapped in such a small space with shitty extras. Second Izuku stole the other arm rest that sits between them the little fuck. And finally their legs are pressing up against each other as well as their shoulders. Katsuki loves being in contact with Izuku but he’s not necessarily used to it outside of sparing or a playful nudge or something. Or if it the nerd falls asleep against him while they hang out but it’s whatever.

So he’s hyper aware of every movement the other man makes. Which brings him to Izuku finally needing to go to the bathroom. Which pisses him off because he’d told the shorter man to go BEFORE they took off or at least sit in the aisle seat because Katsuki wouldn’t need to go before they landed. And being stubborn Katsuki didn’t want to have to get up since he planned to take a nap until they arrived. And of course they argued about it with Izuku promising he’d be quiet and wouldn’t bother Katsuki nor have to go to the bathroom. Katsuki should have known he was lying through his teeth.

So when the other man nudged him awake and ignored the death glare Katsuki sent his way while asking for him to get up so Izuku can go to the bathroom, Katsuki flipped him off and said “Fuck you jackass. I told you to go before but no you didn’t want to.” Izuku frowned at him and Katsuki continued cutting him off from arguing. “So you can sit there like a big boy and hold it.” He slouches in his seat and spreads his knees wider to prove his ‘Im not getting the fuck up’ point.

If he’s honest with himself he’s just being a stubborn dick because he’s tired and he literally told Izuku before they sat down to go. Katsuki knows that when the nerd insists he will, resentfully, get up and let him out to take a piss.

He’s surprised then when instead of complaining Izuku gets up and begins to try to slide between the seats in front of them and Katsukis right knee. It’s quite comical to watch the nerd try to apologize to the people in front of them while also trying to shimmy past the blonde. Katsuki making it extra difficult by slouching a little more.

With a smirk red eyes glance down and watch as Izukus plump ass jiggles with each movement under his shorts. As the nerd finally makes his way past Katsuki’s knee the turbulence button flicks on and the plane begins to jolt.

Katsuki’s eyes are still glued to the bouncing globes now directly in front of him when the epiphany strikes.

This is his chance. As the plane jerks harder this time Izuku grips the seats in front of them and red eyes check to make sure the nerd isn’t look at him. Luckily he’s not. A smirk stretches wide across Katsukis face.

Izuku grunts and holds on to the seat in front of him as the plane bounces a bit roughly again. He’s standing between Katsuki’s knees and he knows he’s probably irritating the already annoyed blonde. He wonders to himself if he should just go sit down when a very strong jolt rocks the plan roughly. His body slams into the seat he’s holding as something crashes right against his backside.

Quickly he turns halfway around and large hands grab his hips.

“Are you okay Kaccha-“ Izuku freezes as embarrassment floods his system. His mouth hangs open speechless as the blonde uses his hips as support to pull his face away slightly from Izukus butt.

‘Oh my god!!!’ Izuku thinks whipping his head back around as another rough round of turbulence suddenly rocks the plane and something, ‘KACCHANS FACE!!!’ His brain supplies, crashes into his cheeks again. Izukus cheeks flush and he knows he’s bright red as he clings to the seat against his front.

The way the plane rocks it forces Katsukis face to repeatedly smack into his literal ass. Izuku is mortified.

‘Oh my god oh my god oh my god’ rings over and over in his head because the person he has been crushing on his entire life has his face smashed between his butt cheeks. He feels a few small pinches against his left cheek before the plane settles a few moments later.

Embarrassed Izuku turns slightly around as once again the blonde uses his hips to push himself away, this time further. Izuku takes in the blondes flushed appearance and wide red eyes. Immediately apologies are at the top of his tongue when the plane jolts one more time.

Izuku catches himself again and then hears someone snickering. He glances at Katsuki and finds his hero partner smirking handsomely at him. Izuku stutters and scrambles over the blondes other leg. He races towards the bathroom with a pounding heart and heat splashed across his cheeks from embarrassment.

When the door is shut behind him Izuku slams his hands over his face and groans into them. He cannot believe that just happened! What is he supposed to do! He just had Kacchans whole face tucked repeatedly into his ass!!!

The plane rocks a little and Izuku squirms because he should NOT be turned on by this. He chides himself for thinking too hard about it. Katsukis gorgeous faces pressed against his cheeks. ‘Oh dear…’ he just can’t help it.

As the plane rocks gently again his butt cheek taps the counter and he frowns as he feels sore over that spot.

Izuku stands up from where he had been leaning against the door and rubs his hand over the sore spot on his left butt cheek.

“What the…?”

It’s wet. He looks at the counter and there’s no water to be seen. In fact it looks like no one has been in the restroom the hour or so they have been flying.

“Why is my butt WET?” Izuku frowns into the mirror as his mind starts tracking over this path to the bathroom and he undoes his shorts to check for a bruise.

Katsuki should be ashamed of himself but honestly? He really isn’t.

He had one opportunity and damn if he didn’t take it.

Katsuki bites his lip and slouches wide in his seat again as he smiles remembering the feel of Izukus warm cushy cheeks pressed against his face. Fuck that was good shit. He’s going to be thinking about this for DAYS.

He’s sure the nerd will come out of the bathroom eventually and be all awkward before he apologizes for something he really doesn’t need to and Katsuki will shrug it off as no big deal. But god damn is it a big deal to him. Katsuki has been fantasizing over that ass for YEARS. And while he should feel guilty for ‘letting’ gravity do its thing….he really really can’t bring himself to feel bad. Not when he just had every wet dream come to life right against his face.

Footsteps grow close and Katsuki closes his eyes to pretend to be trying to sleep. He figures if he cracks his eyes a little while the nerd shimmies between the seat and his knees he can get a good view of that jiggling ass before it’s out of sight again.

He’s surprised when instead of being gentle and quiet the nerd shoves at his legs roughly. Then Katsuki sputters as Izukus ass slams quickly into his face as the nerd climbs clumsily over his legs.

Izuku seems to falter and Katsuki is again hit in the face with cheek. “Oh I’m so sorry Kacchan! I didn’t mean to fall.” Izuku apologizes as he finally slips by and takes his seat.

The blonde blinks as a flush washes over his face. ‘What the fuck…’ he thinks. “S’fine nerd don’t sweat it.”

He sees Izuku face him from the corner of his eye. “Are you sure Kacchan? My ass was kind of in your face.” His voice sounds worried.

“Yeah it’s cool don’t worry about it.” Katsuki replies thickly still a little out of it from having another face full of that amazing ass.

Izuku hums. “Oh good. I was a bit worried there. But that’s kinda silly right Kacchan?” Izuku sweetly says and Katsuki frowns a little at his syrupy tone.

“Yeah I guess…” he mumbles and adjusts in his seat to be a little more comfortable. He pauses though as the shorter man leans over to seemingly whisper something to him. Katsuki leans slightly in to him with curiosity.

“Kacchan are you hungry?” Izuku whispers against his ear.

Katsuki even more confused responds with “No. why?” In a matching whispered tone.

The blonde shivers as feels Izukus breath puff against his ear as the other man laughs a little. “You sure? You were helping yourself to my ass so I figured you might be hungry after the bite marks I found on it in the bathroom.”

Katsukis cheeks burn as his heart races at being caught. He swallows thickly and opens and closes his mouth before mumbling out an “I’m sorry…?” And winces because he really didn’t sound like he was. Heat burns his ears and neck as Izuku fucking giggles.

“Don’t be. If Kacchan is hungry he just has to ask. He can have a taste any time.” Izuku whispers teasingly against the blondes ear.

Katsuki about breaks his neck as he quickly turns his head only to come nose to nose with a red faced nerd. They stare at each other for a moment with pounding hearts. Heated but nervous green eyes bore into his and Katsuki feels his confidence begin to rise. The little nerd LIKED it.

He smirks and leans in a little closer before heatedly whispering back. “Yeah? What if I get hungry when we check in to the hotel? You gonna let me gorge myself?”

Izuku licks his lips and gives him a look he’s never seen before. A sultry look. It sends tingles of lust and anticipation through his body. “As long as you make sure to stuff me full too.”

Katsuki full body shivers and grins manically. Izuku smiles heatedly back.

Katsuki takes it back. This trip is the best thing that’s happened to him. Especially when it means he gets a face full of freckled cheeks whenever the fuck he wants.

i have a question ab transformers and im too scared to google it bc of what i think ill find but is there anything in canon that tells you if transformers reproduce??? and like how? do they have some sort of build-a-baby or smth??? sorry i know its late and this is absurd but its been plaguing mind for 4h now and i had to ask

Fjgng you're right to be afraid of what you'll find. There... Is a sea of fics out there.

The fandom has an extremely well curated Wikipedia, so if you're up for something more in depth, read through this article or browse through other ones.

Anyway, this is an excuse to ramble about Transformers >:) but I'll give you info on just the medias I've consumed, or know enough of.

The answer more broadly, there are cannon forms of reproduction, not sexual, per say, but the Transformers writers have a. Well. Long and weird relationship with Cybertronians having sex and especially pregnancies (yeah, you heard me right-)

To start off:

1. In one of the really old TF comics, we have a couple formed of a human woman (Cover Girl) and Brawn. They are married and also, they have a child. ...the child is not adopted. I don't if it's stated how they got there, but y'know.

2. In Beast Wars, we get protoforms.

In multiple continuities, they are basically the first stage in a robot's life. Kind of like infants. All they need is a spark (soul) and alt mode code (what they transform into) in order to develope into a fully grown Cybertronian.

The weird thing with this tho, is that you'll have characters such as Cheetor, who have been here from the start, and they'll be treated like the teenager of the group (although he IS the child appeal character), but then you'll see the ones who come along later, such as Silverbolt, who are immediately treated as an adult with full agency. Sigh.

But that's not all on reproduction in this show.

You have Rattrap at some point talk about... Bars on their home planet where waitresses walk around tits out, basically.

There are also some sex jokes, if I remember correctly. The femme fatale character takes a rod to cut it, her boyfriend cringes, and another one calls her emasculating.

For less cannon stuff that still sprung out of here; the official artists who worked on the show made a 3D render of Dinobot (main character) with... Dinobot Jr. Out on full display.

Also, at some point during the show production, someone decided to play a prank on someone else in the studio by submitting a pornographic parody of the episode script they should have originally given. Why does the fandom know this? It was leaked way back in the day before the episode aired.

Anyway, can you imagine being some poor fool thinking you're getting some exciting leaks to read and instead you get smacked with porn of the character who's literally inspired after Hannibal Lecter- also he transformers into a crab.

3. In Transformers Animated, protoforms make another return.

They basically work about the same way as they do in Beast Wars, except this time, we get Sari.

She's a protoform that somehow landed on earth, and her father, a human, touched it, which caused her to imprint on his DNA and become a hybrid.

In this show we also get several instances of objects being hit by the power of a Cybertronian relic, and making them come to life. Now, I don't know if they count as Cybertronians, since they are random ass earth objects, but they have a consciousness. Also, the same relic has been shown to be able to bring back Transformers from the dead. So.

...........

Ok. So. I received this ask forever ago, I'm so sorry for not getting to it. I've gotten busy and I can unfortunately feel my cognitive dysfunction kicking in, so I'll try to just get this done, but it'll be less detailed from now on and kinda disjointed.

Plus I was a while into writing this part and I lost the progress-

So. IDW1. The comics. They are a mess and weird.

Also, I read these years ago and I don't really remember the details.

You have hot spots on the home planet or moon. That create sparks (from the ground). Sparks can also pop out from Cybertronian relics, such as The Matrix.

Titans (HUUUUUUGE Cybertronians. They turn into cities or battle ships) may also carry hotspots that make robo babies.

Sparks harvested from this sort of thing either become cold constructs or forged. I'm not going to go into technicalities, but basically cold constructs are sparks who were taken and placed in a premade body and forged were allowed to develope naturally. If they are having trouble, a blacksmith may help them along by shaping their body. Or so I recall, at least.

I think I remember a mention in the comics about "A turbofox in heat". Turbofoxes are Transformers animals.

IDW1 also... Sports a lot of allusions to pregnancies. And. Pregnancies in general.

A lot of metaphors for pregnancies. Character is in a coma for 9 months. Another one gets a body upgrade and the entire thing is reminiscent of birth- an actual Cybertronian being mpreg with an organic alien------

^btw there was no narrative significance for this last one to happen

And. One of the main writers had... two? fanfics before he started writing cannon works. Telefunken and Eugenesis. Robots giving birth- to be fair, from their chests, from what I've heard. But the entire thing. It's. It's yeah.

Now!

IDW2.

Kiddies pop out of the ground. They are given one or two mentors. Mentors help them along to find what they want to transform into and their future jobs.

Earthspark, the Nickelodeon show, has come out pretty recently and I haven't watched it, but I think it has 3 robot kids as main characters! From what I know, they also popped out of the ground, except this time on Earth.

^also this one is canonically non binary sob

Transformers: Prime

I thiiiiiink they say Cybertronians pop out of The Well Of All Sparks? Which is a hole in their planet. Don't remember it being explored much. In the movie, a bunch of sparks fly out of it by the end, but I think it was a sort of- everybody gets revived! Yay!

The live action movies. Are also. Trippy

The ones directed by Micheal Bay are shit, but I gotta talk about them. You've got robots being sexual and creepy. But you also have sparklings. They pop out of goo eggs- I don't remember if in these movies energon or other relics posses and bring to life - I think they do tho.

However, that's an occurrence in the Bumblebee movie.

About Us

Audrey Arson

I'm the oldest of the band. I'm a bit of a self-proclaimed older sister to the others and I feel super protective of them. When I'm not making music with the band you can usually find me working on my comic or some other artistic pursuit. I'm a chronically exhausted college student. You can tell what songs I wrote by them having a more jazzy or melancholy tone to them or just being bat-shit off the walls insane. Some of my inspirations are MCR, Scene Queen, , Set It Off, and Demi Lovato (for some reason).

I’m that guy with the neon green hair in the blog’s pfp lol. pronouns are he/him, xe/xem/xyr, and it/its. I take a lot of influence from older punk rock and, surprisingly, country and folk music. my favorite bands are My Chemical Romance, Oingo Boingo, They Might Be Giants, The Cure, Talking Heads, Bikini Kill, Shilpa Ray, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Iron Maiden, The Magnetic Fields, The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra, Lemon Demon, Man or Astro-Man, Radiohead (not in a pretentious way, I swear), Will Wood, Creedence Clearwater Revival… oh boy, there’s a lot. I like music! I tend to disappear at unpredictable intervals due to chronic pain/fatigue and parental restrictions, but I always come back. I like writing songs about things I’m passionate about, which is often personal, sometimes political, and every now and then a ballad about freaky-looking deep sea creatures. or weevils. I keep my dad’s old stenobook by my bedside to write lyrics in - he wrote lyrics for the Panama City punk bands he was in in 1990-ish in there, and I figured I could put it to good use again after all these years. he’s cool with it. see you around, and stay safe out there 🪲

I'm sassy, I'm trashy and (if you pay me enough) I'll let you put it in my ass-y. I'm the band's second oldest and the token British person. I use any pronouns, I literally don't care what you call me xx. My music taste is all over the place, having been raised by a metalhead and a former chav during a time where pop punk and emo were more mainstream. I'd say my biggest inspirations in terms of performing are Freddie Mercury and Ronnie James Dio. You'll be able to tell which songs are written by me because they're shit! I'm not much good at writing, but I'm great at partying like I'm Paris Hilton. When I'm not doing band stuff, you can find me shopping, watching/reading/playing anything DC comics related or just sorta... Staring into space. Hi I'm Dart, I'm genderfluid (any pronouns), and I'm from under the ground at your local graveyard! I'm one of the youngest, and that's super tragic because I'm an undead zombie who died from being too damn glamorous. My idol is Melissa Marie and i love the Millionaires. Also, my ghostly tendencies give me a lot of appreciation for the dramatic, and as well as all things scene and crunkcore I love theatre, cabaret, and steampunk. im having trouble figuring out what i wanna work on today (i start commission work back up on monday so none of that) so im going to ramble until i figure something out <3

i have SOOO many projects and ideas i could be working on tbh. a lot of them, though, are in the development stage (such as a lot of my to-be comic stories), which means i cant..necessarily draw things for them and post said things?? which kind of turns me off from working on them lol. which also sucks bc i do wanna work on them! damn my need for validation

i started working on an older animation meme project that has to do with step (it even has a bit of voice acting in it! fun) and it got me thinking about step again lowkey. and that got me thinking about how i said i might make All my comics a reality sooner rather than later, and thats where im at rn--wanting to start all these projects but not being able to get past development u_u i was gonna do em all bc of adhd but ironically adhd is the thing preventing me from doing them lol

i am excited for my stories!! im excited to start sharing them no matter how slow i may be to do it. i dont feel any pressure to work on anything anymore which is good, but at the same time it does mean things are gonna be a lil slow. like dpgii for example. ive only posted 5 pages of it and im already taking a hiatus lol. i was thinkin about working on it soon however..idk how soon tho

i wanna make more wolves for blessed too but i gotta develop the story a BIT more i think. i have a vague basic story going but i need to put some spice and detail into it now. same thing for one way dream, i have some bits and pieces here and there but i need to get into the nitty gritty of it.

i could theoretically start step or alien love bc their scripts are like..done lol. i started thumbnails for step a while ago and i think i may have for alien love but i cant remember

also i wanna redo my ghosts meme. again. last time i remade it with danny phantom and it kinda flopped lol. but i wanna make it with one way dream this time :) itll have super spoilers in it but thats ok who cares i guess

circling back to not knowing what i wanna do--im having the problem where i have Lots i could be doing but i cant choose. i think thats the issue :/a rahhh rahh. i might just end up working on a comic idk. something in me feels like im not making the right choice in what to work on so thats preventing me from doing anything too lol. like if i choose to work on mirrors then im wrong bc i could be working on another thing, and vice versa. maybe i should just pick whatever feels right to me and just do it until i get tired of it

Hey, anon on the Jay Nakamura topic again, I definitely agree on the fact that Jay doesn't really add anything if he is overpowered and equal to Jon. What I'm trying to say is that Tom Taylor in Son of Kal El made it seem as the story was going to be about Jon struggling with trust after the events in the volcano. He was going to be more closed off and cautious of others because it made it seem as though as Jon didn't feel like he could trust people to have his back, especially the fact that with as you said, Jon realizing how powerful he is, feeling like his allies are more of a liability than backup. Sounded like it could be an interesting and reasonable flaws for Jon. We could've seen how this affects Jon's relationships, especially with non superpowered friends and family who before have had his back before and even saved him in his younger years (ex. Lois Lane and Damian Wayne) and have seen Jon learn to trust people again and be able to rely on them again. But Tom Taylor's solution to this instead was Jay, a "straightfoward romantic relationship". I've tried liking Jay as I am always curious and excited for new superheroes but as you said in previous posts, he is originally created to be Jon's love interest. Not to mention he began to annoy me as the comic is supposed to be about Jon but Jay is seemingly taking up space with his story and arc as the role of supporting character. It made it seem Tom Taylor took the advantage of writing his original character and forcing him into Jon's spotlight in any and every way possible, at least to me. If anything, we could have used more non superpowered supporting cast for Jon to give him a sense of normality, he is half human after all. What do you think?

valid! i think tom had good intentions and wanted to write a good, happy and mentally stable superhero to counter the bat family maybe, and in doing so he missed so many shots, i think jon struggling to put his faith in people who he believes are weaker than him is such a fun angle, him learning to come to terms with humans with no powers again would have been a great read

i also think addressing the years of prison would have been the correct thing to do, thats why im excited for this new series, cause fuck if he did something with it in son of superman

full honestly after reading most of son of superman and getting bored i genuinely cannot tell u anything about jays story like wow i did not care, hes easy to ignore i think, which is his first flaw, like yeah he was around too much maybe but even then he was such a non presence

i compare him to bernard a lot in my mind cause in the end they are the "bf i made up for representation with a complicated life story for drama" and like... i look forward to bernard being around, i find him hilarious and hes dumb and fun and thats enough, meanwhile jay is just such a downer and feels incredibly patronizing sometimes

all in all i just think tom tried but it didnt work out, which is a shame cause hes the one writer that made me cry several times so im looking forward to him putting those abilities to work with jon

How are you planning on posting the comic? Will you be posting a panel every time you finish one, post the story one part at a time (considering theres 4 parts) or wait until youve finished the whole thing before you upload it? whatever it is im hyped as FUCK to see it

Thank you for the support!!! its something I've been really excited about and seeing other people be excited is really encouraging

that's been something I've been stuck on! I really want to avoid the typical webcomic upload schedule of a certain number of pages per week because I've had bad luck with it before and it ended up creating a ton of stress for me and makes the process go waaaay slower. I really want to work on everything as if I'm making one finished peace so that my art style is more consistent and my work flow is more manageable. What I'm thinking about doing is finishing each part and then posting it all together, and then potentially posting chunks of pages on my patreon as I work. I am a bit concerned about overwhelming myself and underestimating how much work I'm gonna have to pour into this, my first part is complete and is around 30k words which is. obviously a lot LOL. and considering I work a full time job on top of everything I can't dedicate as much time to my art as I'd like. in an ideal world I would love to get enough financial support for my art to be able to quit my day job and dedicate all my time to finishing projects like this, but I think that's something far in the future. otherwise I'm gonna be taking things one step at a time and encourage myself to stay motivated :) its a project I really care about and seeing people be excited really helps a lot

thank you for the well wishes! to be honest i am not sure what other peoples experience with the company is as it is difficult ask around for that sort of thing and to be honest i was not close or grew close enough to any new artists to be able to ask them that. i think your experience varies greatly based on your comic's performance.

ofc its going to be hard to talk about much of this without sounding like a little sour grapes bitch, but i think thats the price of trying to talk abt it at all. as far as im aware the operations of hive are pretty obfuscated to nearly everyone not immediately involved, so a little light on why it didnt work for me can at least shed a little insight from an uncommon source. but remember: i can only speculate to a reasonable degree based on my own experiences and because i have a uhhhh caustic writing style, i want to be sure to try to reign in my impulse for hyperbole. reader beware!!! you're in for boring dry answers.

well. sort of. one of the last things that blew me away was being told that laughing at the dork ass losers who use auto-tracing techniques on free clip studio assets caused them to pull some of their pitches from consideration. okay? how the fuck was i supposed to feel about this info?? some people who cant draw by admission and refuse to learn on purpose did you a favor by removing themselves from consideration. the mere idea of even being considered equitable to that gaggle of morons is too much lol. my newly and grossly inflated self-image cannot take this. thats too far lol. deeply insulting shit. that combined with the years and years of repeatedly being put on the backburner and having to nag myself hoarse to get anything done made it clear that respect, if it was ever involved in the first place, had narrowed to a one way street

a close friend of mine gave me some advice when i was asking around, but admitted they were having a hard time staying objective bc they were embittered by the change in hiveworks from what they perceived as an artist collective to a Brand(c). i hadnt even considered this view and was even more shocked to hear that multiple long time webcomic readers found out about hive through me. my perception of it from the inside was very odd and warped, i had a hard time coming to terms with realizing i was not getting what i was hoping for from the experience (comradery, support).
