Lmfao, you think psycho piss is good... gratuitous violence for the sake of being an edgy child, and it's a pig worshipping anime. How cool!!!1!11! I'm unironically saddened that the critique of capitalism genre of cyberpunk is some whitewashed equivalent bullshit. Now it's just about cool robots, body mods, and violence. None of you understand anything
sorry to you#1 cyberpunk expert for sometimes enjoying art that doesn't have perfect motives, just because it is fun to comsume, i will make sure to only consume the purest of cyberpunk in the future, you have educated me and now after years of being STUPID and WRONG i finally understand what the cyberpunk genre is about
believe it or not, i didn't watch psycho pass and go "holy shit cops are so cool i love cops" at it, i just enjoyed it's exploration of themes and concepts even though i do also think it frames it in the completely wrong way.

Guess what? I've got more Jamil x reader for y'all. You can also find this on ao3. No warnings, just 866 words of kinda fluffy(?) caretaking stuff with gender-neutral reader.
At this point, you know Jamil’s schedule almost as well as he does. So, when you have the chance, you head to Scarabia’s kitchen, hoping to spend some time with Jamil while he and the other students prepare dinner.
However, when you enter, it takes you but a moment to notice Jamil’s uncharacteristic fumbling and the tired look in his eyes. The way Jamil’s chopping the vegetables has you worried about him cutting himself with that knife he’s usually so adept with, and it seems it’s only force of habit that’s keeping him on track.
You frown, and when your eyes meet Jamil’s, you can already see him put his guard up.
So he knows what state he is in, huh? And still, here he is.
It seems Jamil is reading your thoughts, all of him telling you drop it before any words are even said.
At least he still lets you lean in and give a quick kiss to his cheek in greeting.
“Hello love. Do you still have a lot on your agenda for today?” you ask, keeping your tone low for at least some semblance of privacy in the busy kitchen.
“Nothing I can’t handle,” is the response you get.
Of course.
It takes a little more pestering before Jamil actually answers your question. Your lips purse. That list is far too long to your liking.
You take a moment to think, juggling your own plans and to-do list against the urgency of the things Jamil mentioned.
“Will Kalim be eating from that?” you ask, pointing at the food Jamil is preparing.
“Yes.”
“Alright, I won’t be touching that one, then. I’ve gotta do a few things but I’ll be back when you’re done here.”
“Don’t,” Jamil says with a glare, clearly aware of what you’re thinking.
Yet even his disapproving look doesn’t have the usual weight behind it.
“Yes. I will,” you say firmly, even as your heart curls inwards with another bout of concern.
Really, when did he get so tired?
And how did you not notice it earlier?
You leave the kitchen before Jamil can protest further, hurrying through the dorm corridors to find Kalim.
Soon you have an enthusiastic – and concerned – supporter for your plans. You have Kalim point out a few reliable Scarabia students to help with a few of the most urgent matters Jamil mentioned – cleaning up the common areas, delivering some paperwork to Crowley, preparing some dorm-wide notices – while you see to Kalim getting his school supplies in order for the following day. You even recruit a couple of third years to help Kalim with his homework.
You’ll see to the rest tomorrow – after all, you do also have a boyfriend to look after.
Your conversation over dinner can hardly be called anything else than an argument – despite Kalim’s best attempts at acting as a moderating force between you two. It is very tempting to ask Kalim to tell Jamil to take the rest of the day off – it’s not like Jamil would be willing to openly disobey a direct order. Still, you really don’t need to remind Jamil of his position on top of everything else that you’re already doing more or less against his wishes.
Eventually, however, Jamil’s had a square meal, the most urgent things on his to-do list are being taken care of, and you’ve managed to drag him to his bed.
“I really wish you wouldn’t push yourself so hard,” you murmur, your arms wrapped tightly around Jamil. You’re telling yourself you really do just want to cuddle, to offer some respite to Jamil. Still, there might also be a part of you worried that if you were to let go, he’d just jump up and get back to working himself to the bone.
Yet, for all his protestations, just the fact that you’ve gotten Jamil to lay down with you speaks volumes of his current exhaustion.
“I can’t just leave my duties, albi. You know this.”
“Making yourself too indispensable, is what you’re doing,” you protest.
Oh, you know it’s not so simple. Not with his background, not with all the expectations and assumptions.
But sometimes you really wish it would be.
Jamil merely scoffs in response to your words.
Still, it is undeniable that he is slowly beginning to relax in your arms, slowly bringing his head closer to yours. His eyes are starting to flutter, too.
“I will still need to help Kalim with his homework, at the very least.”
You wonder who he is trying to convince more, you or himself.
“Amin and Khalil are helping him. They’re basically top of their classes, aren’t they? I’m sure they’ve got it.”
Still, Jamil frowns.
You sigh. He really is not letting go, is he?
“Do you want me to go supervise?” you ask.
And leave you, unsaid yet hanging there right after your words.
“Don’t,” Jamil eventually says, the word barely more than a breath.
It seems he has accepted his fate.
You softly caress Jamil’s hair, listening to his softening breathing.
And when you wake up, wholly unaware of having been lulled to sleep in the first place, it’s to the lightest of touches from Jamil’s fingers.

Ok I know I'm heavily biased here but like I kinda love that Astarion's romance is one of the few in this type of video game where you basically end up canonically unmarried and childfree in his "good" ending? Just travelling the world??
Like it's honestly the millennial dream lmfaoo cannot believe i chose what would undoubtedly be my favorite option, first try
#also love that he's basically atheist like ok thanks you made the man exactly coded to be my type#and the humor and beautiful curly hair is very much something my IRL partner has too so like... how can i resist#anyways not sure a lot of people relate cause i think a lot of people want that fairytale romance#even tho wyll is right there yall#but i love me an unconventional or nontraditional one!!#i'm TIRED of being married with children as the endgame pls let's not do it#also a lot of people seem into him being a dad and im like... how? why? where in canon did he ever lmfao#more power to ya if you dig it but i just dont see it being in character#like in DAI i loved cullen and my inquisitor getting married and having a dog#and they seem the type to wants kids one day. but Tav & Astarion? lol no#i just think it's neat#is this a hot take? i have no idea but i don't see it mentioned a lot as a new fan tbh#pls do not come at me you can enjoy whatever you like#i haven't seen the ascended stuff so idk if being his 'consort' is like being his bride#but i feel like overall it's not and the vibe isn't all that different in this sense#except that you're hosting evil parties instead of travelling :/#Astarion#bg3 spoilers#baldur's gate 3#baldur's gate 3 spoilers#bg3#also YEA he's nice to Arabella but you can tolerate certain kids without wanting one or being 'good parent' material#case in point: me lmfao#OKAY update i saw the AA stuff and yeah you're kind of implied vamp married and he does mention spawn as children 😫#but he also says in banter he won't make any other spawn??? so what is it dude#anyway that's also clearly the “bad” route and he doesn't seem as happy as unascended#who feels “truly free”#and if you're durge I'm pretty sure its even worse to consider having kids?? lol#but i digress

you seem like one of the calmest eluciens about the ship war 😂
*gently holds your hand* I say this in the sweetest most comforting way possible but...it's because I don't care 🤣🤣
I appreciate people's passion for the series and the characters but...SJM will do what she wants in the end. I'm 99% confident Elucien is happening because logically with the story she's been telling, it's what makes sense to me but you know what - she might do a 360 and change everything in the next book so that 1% doubt will always be there because I'm not her and I don't know what's in her brain lol.
I love Lucien, I love Elain and I very obviously love them together. I will ship elucien until the end regardless of what happens because to me, they will always make more sense than any other ship. But I also don't want to spend time arguing with people or trying to convince them about whether I'm right or not when in the end, we could all be wrong anyway haha.
There's a lot of nastiness that comes with this ship war and it's just not worth it. It takes away from the joy the series gives to people and there are real people behind these screens. Ultimately, I'm here for a good time not to deal with people being mean. I've also been in the fandom for a long time and had my fair share of arguments/pettiness so yo girl is TIRED and has seen it all lol. My policy always comes back to ship and let ship but don't be an asshole about it.

Day 5 - :D (John Egbert as seen in @badlydrawnjohn )
If there's one thing I'll never truly get over, it's the simple enjoyment of character ask blogs~
(It's transparent too~!)
=Thoughts=
Mimicking someone else's style - whether loosely or with great accuracy - is a lot more time-consuming than one might expect. The way shapes are formed, the style lines come out, even the particular texture of the pen, all make for a lot of small adjustments as you go along in the strive for accuracy.
I opted to use my usual pen texture since it makes it feels less like I'm directly copying someone's style and more going for a homage-type deal. I find it to be a nice blend of mimicking and intentional personal influence. It's even more useful with simpler styles since it avoids uncanny valley effects when the style is slightly off instead of noticeably so.
That said, for a simple style, there were certainly a few key challenges. The head shape took a few tries since it was either too round or too flat. The shoulders too since I was trying to avoid making them look too broad. Somehow - though fittingly enough - the neck wound up key to the shoulders and helped out with the head.
The hands are probably the one part I didn't put in as much effort for accuracy, especially the left-side hand. I still put in some effort, so it looks different to my usual. I kinda like how it came out, and might have to study it a little for my cuter styles~
It's fun doing style mini-studies with simpler styles. Makes for good line practice and gives appreciation for even the simpler-looking styles. It's like learning about the unique fingerprints of each artist~

Fanart for @inkwellphasmophobia!!!
I got really inspired by the Phasmophibia AU. Specifically, oddly enough, by the whole mental asylum part in particular. It would be Mugs, wouldn't it? (Seems like no matter what AU, the one consistent thing about him is that he's gonna snap eventually in some way.)
So I did a few sketches, which somehow ended up turning into an entire comic. (I am not going to confess how late I stayed awake working on this.) I didn't feel like taking the time to make a polished version, but I wanted to share it nonetheless, so you're going to have to deal with my messy scribbles and placeholder characters. I don't know how much of this will turn out to be canon, but hopefully it's cool and tragic anyway. (...Does this need trigger warnings?)
Tumblr media
(The sketches on the right of this first image aren't panels of the comic, by the way, they're separate drawings. You can tell 'cause they're not in boxes.)
Tumblr media
And somehow these two get in an argument:

All this fanart and not a single mention of ghosts.

Don’t say that! I love your writing so much!!! There’s nothing wrong with sticking to canon, and the way you write all the characters is amazing! You have such great characterization and the way you write emotions is just incredible!
Your writing is absolutely incredible, even if you may not believe it yourself you contribute a lot to this fandom and I know you’ve definitely made some of my awful days better just because I read some of the things you’ve published. Every time I see you post I get excited because I love your content so much!
The things you create are valuable and lovely because they’re yours! They are wholeheartedly and entirely yours! That is what makes them amazing! It makes it unique and beautiful and no one else can make it!
I know it’s hard to believe and your mentality won’t change just because I, one insignificant person you’ve never met, said this, but I hope someday you can believe it.
Until then, I (and so, so many other people, I imagine) will remind you as many times as you need. I hope you have an excellent night and I offer you hugs 🫂
Ohhh anon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was having a moment of self-doubt and getting frustrated with my writing so I decided to go do something else, and then I come back and see this lovely message that makes me cry 💖
You’re so sweet anon, thank you so much for your kind words. They mean a lot 😭

Since when did we start charging money on patreon for fanfics 😭😭😭😭 is this for real😭
hi, love. I haven't seen that many people doing the Patreon thing when it comes to fanfic, but it's pretty common for people who draw for example to set up a Patreon. I believe that everyone who does, just like myself, needs the money. I wouldn't be doing it if i didn't need to. I figured the Patreon setup was the best idea since it's not really that common for people to tip writers, we've been struggling with getting reblogs and comments, so you can imagine.
Right now, I'm applying and doing tests to get an internship, which still won't be enough because I'm also trying to apply for a master's. So, yeah, I'm really thankful for everyone who tipped me on ko-fi and subscribed to my Patreon, last month my savings were over, and the Patreon money was what helped me pay for some medical stuff I needed (Idk if you saw the whole mick schumacher's sick club, but yeah — huge thank you for everyone who subscribed/donated btw).
We often see fic writers as little robots who don't eat, drink, or sleep. We request stuff, and expect an instant reply, and when we get the content we don't even go back to the page to tell the writer our thoughts. We don't reblog, nor leave comments, but still, we expect them to keep writing and keep sharing everything as if it didn't take hours, sometimes days to come up with a 1k piece polished to what we think readers will like best. I hope I don't sound rude, I'm just trying to make a point because I'm tired of seeing writers deactivating, tired of seeing my friends getting writer's block and then people still demanding things.
On top of that, I'm still posting a lot here, from smau to blubs and long fic requests (and I won't even talk about how some pieces aren't even getting a hundred notes, which always makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong, if my writing is bad, or if there's anything that I could do to make the reader's experience more enjoyable), and it takes a lot of time, it's even harder to balance the two profiles now, but still, I keep sharing some of my work for free. so please, please, don't make me feel bad about needing money. thanks ❤️.

Current thing making me insane: Flint’s accent.
So we know extraordinarily little about Flint’s early history, really. Raised by grandfather, fisherman, from Padstow. That is a very specific location to give us, given vagueness of everything else.
The interesting thing is, Padstow is in Cornwall. The Cornish accent is by far one of the most distinct British accents, you would absolutely recognize it. And one of the main things you might recognize it from is that it is the basis of the ‘stereotypical’ pirate accent (thanks Robert Newton 1950 TI adaptation Silver). That’s how Flint would have spoken growing up, and he clearly erases all traces of that accent and is doing this very generic upper class London accent by the time he meets Thomas - a natural part of  becoming educated/passing as a gentleman/etc, plenty has been written about that. Flint was not the first transformation in his life, Lt. McGraw was equally created.
Point being, when he ‘created’ Flint, it would have been VERY easy to revert to an earlier way of speaking to blend in. But he makes the choice to keep outsider status. His vibe remains very much ‘officer and gentleman who has turned to piracy’ rather than ‘naturally a pirate’ although he probably could have picked the latter if he wanted.
Why? Hm, I started but it got long. Flint and maintaining outsider status is perhaps a separate post. For now I will leave it at: probably some combination of perceived superiority, self punishment, and Miranda.
[I do acknowledge that Black Sails doesn’t actually do that accent pirates much anyway. I think some of it holds just in terms of class differences though, and still an interesting choice]

Working on getting a patreon pack up and ready right now, but real quick: I'm a big fan of "Share it! reblog! tell the new style of algorithm internet shit to suck it!", but you might look around and be like "...But you never reblog much of anything?" I do though lol. This is largely my art blog, and while I'll reblog something here from time to time despite wanting to keep it mostly concise, I have like three other blogs on this same account. One of those blogs in particular I reblog to so much that I finally had to make myself add things to my queue instead of just reblogging on the spot. It was (a lot). It's like collecting pins, action figures, cards, (or in my case, architectural photography, landscapes and monster art)... I'm tacking them all up on display so that I can look at them, and make anyone else who visits look at them as well.
