animanga zoro was such a stubborn ass mf he would have tried biting luffy if he had the chance. proper feral dog chained in the yard for misbehaving. if luffy had untied him instead of the whole protecting him from a firing squad, and ‘come with me or die’ ordeal I’m 99% sure he would have walked away on principle. he needed luffy to give him a treat (his swords), tell him he was a good boy (how cool his dream to be worlds greatest swordsman was) & put that metaphorical collar on him

also i think it just gives more depth to both steph and jason if jason was a good kid with parents who did care and unfortunately didn’t have their circumstance entirely in their control!!

like it aligns better with jason’s like passion to be robin and be something bright and to help. like isn’t it so much more complex if he knows good people can end up doing bad things bc they didn’t have a choice and yet he still goes out of his way to interact with these villains and discover that sometimes (obviously not all the villains) but sometimes people are just bad! like his death is more crushing if he thinks people are inherently good and is proven wrong like he was just a pawn to be killed. like then when he comes back with the vengeance of the whole thing. like even the good couldn’t protect him so he has to orchestrate the bad and provide him some sorta control

where steph having this as her baseline! hoping to be saved and so desperately waiting for batman only for him to never arrive. for her dad to still be abusive and having to watch both her parents succumb to these habits that essentially have her act as a parent to them both. her becoming spoiler is literally so heart breaking, she risks her life to thwart cluemaster and put him in prison to get him out the house, so she has one less thing to deal with. then she’s left with her mother who (depending on which comic) often leaves responsibility up to steph even making her retrieve medication and further the addiction. like her whole nightmare about her baby being manipulated by her dad and the bats blaming her for being a bad role model when all she has done is try to save herself is genuinely one of the most upsetting panels of hers. nvm her whole robin run which is just another thing!!

Oh no please go you get it completely - but also just to add on to the Jason part too the fact that he's now okay with killing henchmen despite the fact that his father was one of those men, one of those good men that get into crime bc there's no other choice really hits home his resolve, he's done the math and decided that it'll be worth it in the long shot

Everytime I see a mlynar hate post I die inside little by little

You have to read throughly within his lines and dialogues to understand his personality and his reasoning behind his attitude

Like the man is so fucking depressed, overworked and TIRED, his translated files is just 90% depression, hell even HIS SKILL NAMES ARE JUST SAD

His brother and his bro's wife like left and most likely are dead maybe and he forced himself to give up on his idealism so he can provide and raise the nearl sisters plus the country they're living in is just so fucked up

Plus I would be pissed as hell too if my niece, who I raised when they're a baby, suddenly goes to compete in a battle where you're basically gonna die

He's basically being realistic. This is also obvious in his talk dialogues with the doctor.

Annnd I am venting. The point is, everyone has flaws, Mlynar isn't exempted from this.

I just don't get why he's the most targeted out of all hate.

…also, this is super late, but I DID write a sad little fic that centers around Bad Geno Trade Feelings before anyone was ACTUALLY scared he was going to be traded lol. Fair warning, it is a winner’s room fic, and I advise you to read the tags before diving in.

Phantom, the newest addition to the Justice League, pulls Wonder Woman aside.

He has...a strange request.

He's nervous, flustered, fading in and out of the visible spectrum. It's clear that what he's about to ask of her is important to him, and even though she has an uncomfortable voice in the back of her head telling her this young hero is about to ask her out, she resolves to listen before she jumps to conclusions.

She's glad she did.

"Can...can you put a grave for me in Themyscira? I know it's just for women, but it's the safest place I can think of for it! I just...I don't have a grave, and Clockwork says it's starting to stunt my growth as a Ghost, and I have too many enemies on American soil, so. It's okay if you say no, though, I'll figure something out, it's fine."

Diana lets him ramble to the end, already knowing what her answer is going to be.

"We would be honored to host your grave, Phantom. Do you have any remains I can take home? Do you require a funeral service?"

Phantom looks...he looks beyond grateful. Close to tears.

"No, no remains. A symbolic grave is fine, it just. It has to have my real name on it, my mortal one." He says, looking hesitant. "Please don't reach out to my family, Wonder Woman. They don't know."

With that, he hands over a small slip of paper, torn from a notebook and clearly folded one too many times.

She takes it as though he were entrusting her with the rarest diamond in the world. She wants to, but she does not ask how they could not notice the death of someone so very bright.

Instead she nods, tucking the paper away.

Phantom will get a grand grave, one worthy of a friend to the Crown of Themyscira. She will ensure it.
