The music reached one last crescendo and eased, ballroom dancers stepping away from their partners with flushed cheeks and happy smiles. With a final kiss to her hand and a humble bow, the dark stranger in the raven mask stepped away from the Queen. 

‘At least, if she knew it was the Queen with whom she had danced…’ Emeryne thought.

As if reading her mind, the stranger spoke.

“Thank you for the dance, your highness…”

Emeryne gasped, violet meeting scarlet irises. 

“How did you know it was me?” 

The woman stood straight once again before reaching up to poke the nose of the Queen’s fox mask. A rough voice responded, “As if such a simple mask could disguise the Queen’s radiance and beauty,” 

She leaned closer, smelling of iron, wine and something dangerous. Emeryne became hypnotized by the scent and found herself tilting her head, exposing her neck as the stranger drew closer. 

“You know, for a predator,” the tall woman indicated towards her fox-adorned mask. 

Her red lips ghosted her ear, a whisper.

“You’re awfully pliable,”

Silk bandages secured the would on Emeryne’s thighs and neck, the herbal healing balm soothing her wounds. The aroma of marigold leaves and wormwood filled the space with a comforting air. Darcy held the Queen close, pressing soft kisses to her neck to will the pain away faster. 

“I promise, they don't hurt,” Emeryne said with a laugh but didn’t move to push her lover away. 

“I would be remiss to leave you unattended to, my dear,” Darcy said, a crease in her pale brow.

A warm hand lifted to iron out the wrinkle, followed by a kiss. 

“You worry too much,” the Queen teased. “You should know by now that I’m not so fragile,”

The vampire chuckled and sat up to lean against the headrest and pillows. 

“Oh, I’m quite familiar with how much pain you can take, love,” she purred. 

“That is- until you ask for more,” 

Emeryne guffawed and shoved the vampire’s shoulder before burrowing into her side. It was utter bliss to be sandwiched between her woman and the soft pillows. 

“You!” 

The Queen allowed herself to be pampered with little resistance after that. Darcy dutifully got her some water and snuck down to the kitchen for some bread to eat. Once her other needs had been met, she scooped Emeryne close to her chest, pillowing her head against her breast. Long nailed fingers gently eased brown hair from their braids and combed across her scalp. The shorter woman seemed to melt into her side, fitting perfectly. She hummed contentedly. 

Aftercare requires lots of petting and kissing, not that Darcy was complaining. The vampire doubts she could ever tire of showing the woman in her arms just how deeply she felt for her. 

The Queen's breathing slowly evened out, but she fought desperately against sleep.

“You should rest,” Darcy whispered against the crown of her head. 

“I don’t want to,” 

The vampire didn’t have to look to hear the pout in her voice. Oh, this woman was so adorable. 

“You can barely keep your eyes open, love,” It was true.

“But if I fall asleep, you’ll leave,”

The vampire paused. When had their nightly rendezvous become so significant? It was true she loved the Queen, but for her feelings to truly be reciprocated was something she hadn’t dared let herself dream of. 

Darcy’s arms tightened around Emeryne almost protectively. 

“I won’t,”

“Do you promise?”

“Have I ever lied to you?”

“...” 

The question, while rhetorical, remained unanswered as the Queen finally succumbed to sleep. However, the vampire was left to wonder just how much her love let on…

Darcy would do it, kiss her arm I mean. Pull a Gomez Addams- like before she bites Em’s neck as like- idk appreciation for letting her feed. Murmuring sweet things across her arm that cause little goosebumps to stir from her cold breath. A kiss to her knuckles, turns hand over and a kiss to her palm. Further up, a breathy kiss to her inner elbow, then to the meat of her upper arm with a little nip of pointy fangs. Then kissing the freckles smattered across her shoulder like a constellation. Skimming her teeth across her collarbone guiding her to the firm warm tendon of her neck. Inhaling the smell of her sweet shampoo and sighing. “God..” says Darcy. “the things you do to me, dear”

Darcy’s face is cradled in the nook of Emeryne’s neck and shoulder, swaddled in her warmth. The vampire takes her lovers other hand and places it on her own cold chest. “Tell me to stop,” Darcy growls softly in her ear. “Please, I need you to tell me to stop, because I’m not sure how much longer I can hold back” Instead Em takes her hand back and laces her fingers thru long dark tresses, and urges the taller woman to bite. To bite hard. “Do it.”

do you have any favorite theories about gaster, his role in undertale/deltarune, his personality, etc?

but honestly, i don’t get into detailed theories too much!! i’m open to a lot of different interpretations of him.  i know i have ones that i like a lot, but i don’t necessarily think they are definitely true or anything.  theyre just all fun to consider!!

i’m not sure what i think gaster’s role in undertale and deltarune are right now, since deltarune isn’t even a complete game yet. I prefer to embrace a lot of different theories rather than sticking to any specific one so that I don’t find myself disappointed in what ends up being revealed in canon.

honestly one theory i have is that gaster is just a normal guy in deltarune, since it’s an alternate timeline there’s nothing special about him since he never fell into the CORE (which doesn’t even exist in deltarune as far as we know), but i’m not super attached to it.  i would love to see this be a reality though, considering all the hype around the mystery surrounding gaster just because i think it would be sorta funny (but then of course that could be rly anti-climatic so who knows)

but the main theory/headcanon that i often go back to is that he was once relatively normal before he falls into the CORE.  i like to think he was actually a good person overall, and was caring to his co-workers/assistants etc. (especially to sans because i’m always gonna throw some sanster in here) !!

sometimes i also like to think that he, alphys, and sans were a good group of friends that hung out and made dumb science jokes and probably watched anime together a lot (where the poorly-drawn picture of three smiling people from the skelebros’ house comes into play) though i don’t have too many specific headcanons about that.  i do have a h/c fic about alphys and sans recovering after gaster falls into the core but who knows if it will ever see the light of day considering my penchant for leaving things unfinished and unpublished for indefinite periods of time lkasdflsdl 

anyways i think he always had good intentions, but i think his intelligence and thirst for knowledge sometimes got away from him which would lead to him putting himself in sorta dangerous situations.  this would probably worry sans/alphys/his other assistants/co-workers, but no one really knew how to handle it.  he’d be very adamant about never endangering others with his shenanigans, though, or at least he’d try to be.

it’s a slow decline, but i think events reach a sort of peak when he’s driven (by what exactly, i’m not sure) to decide to use himself as a test subject for an experiment with determination/something involving the void or the anomaly. 

from there, the people he works with notice him beginning to act a lot differently; he’s quicker to insult and ridicule those he works with, and he’s more driven than ever to find whatever answers he’s looking for, and stops at nothing to get what he wants.  he’s also more willing to use others for “help” with his experiments as well, which was a big thing he avoided before (sans has probably been manipulated into being used for an experiment at least once since gaster knows how much sans Cares abt him even if he no longer returns the feeling hhhhh).  eventually he’s completely changed; where an accepting, well-meaning person once was, an emotionless, cruel person now stands.  i think it takes a while for those who are close to him (sans especially) to accept that he’s Not Really Himself anymore, too.

obviously eventually this somehow leads to him falling into the CORE.  there are a few ways i figure this could happen:

sans/alphys/gaster’s other “followers” knew how dangerous he was becoming and one of them pushed him

some part of his old self was still conscious within him and he knew how dangerous he had become to the people he cared about and chose to jump in a moment of clear-mindedness (or maybe he’s completely insane and jumped because he thought it would make him all-powerful or somethin idk)

actual freak accident, maybe because of the increasing insanity of his experiments the CORE destabilizes or something and in that whole mess he ends up falling in (would explain why his “followers” are forgotten as well, i.e. multiple people wiped out in an accident)

but yeah!! while he’s technically erased from existence, i hc that sans and maybe also alphys remember him at least a little bit, and the “don’t forget” picture was drawn by one of them (probably sans) soon after the accident in a desperate attempt not to forget him completely.

anyways, those are my thoughts on gaster!  i lied i made this kinda very long cause i got carried away (sry aaaa), but thnx for the ask!!! i’ve been wanting to talk about my gaster theories/headcanons for a while now, haha ^^

Autistic Caleb Widogast

Part One

Caleb Widogast of D&D web series Critical Role is widely recognized by the fan community as autistic-coded. There are many, many, many reasons why, and with the episodes numbering well into the dozens it would take several paragraphs to expound on on all of them.

So here’s the first in a series of posts doing precisely that.

EPISODE ONE:

There isn’t much here in episode one, but there is this:

Caleb uses stereotypically autistic speech patterns in the very first conversation he has in the show. Nott draws it to a close with “All right, well, that’s on the to-do list,” and Caleb immediately mirrors her phrasing with “All right, well, let’s get something to eat then.”

Later, down in the bar, Beau asks Nott if she is cold. Caleb misinterprets this to mean “Why are you wrapped up?” and subsequently explains, very defensively, that Nott is a goblin and obviously goblins are not well-liked in these parts and that is why she is wrapped up and Beau should drop it—which is, uh, pretty much the definition of blunt oversharing, no?

Caleb also, for the first time, shares his magic cat with someone else as an expression of kindness and a kind of second-hand socializing. Beau notes immediately that it’s “kind of therapeutic”; right away, Frumpkin is coded as an emotional support animal. (It helps that he takes Frumpkin absolutely everywhere, often choosing to carry him on his shoulders when he can just as easily pop him in and out of the general vicinity with a snap of his fingers.)

Still later, Jester rearranges one of the shops they visit, and Caleb grows nervous the moment he notices it (“A bit of nerves begin to brew up”). On the one hand, this is probably because he’s afraid of getting in trouble with the shopowner, but on the other: getting anxious at the sight of slight changes in your surroundings is pretty quintessentially autistic.

EPISODE TWO:

Caleb offers to give Nott his cat as a distraction from her urges to steal. Once again, Frumpkin is coded as an emotional support animal. And, on top of this, Caleb seems to hold the idea that—well, he helps me, so obviously he’ll help you too!

Nott reassures Caleb that they can leave the group at the drop of a hat if they need to. “They’ll never know who we were,” she says. “...Caleb and Nott,” he says, responding both literally and with a touch of confusion.

Caleb calls a man’s novel “trashy” and seems to realize a second too late that it was rude; he tacks on a very hasty “No judgement.”

Caleb compliment’s Beau’s muscles very awkwardly.

Caleb goes on to say, “We have been in the woods for too long. I’ve forgotten how to talk to people.” And sure, spending time away from society can make people a little weird. But needing practice to maintain basic social skills like complimenting people? Sounds autistic.

Caleb says, later, “I don’t know what you just said, but I am interested in books. Particularly in the arcane realm, but any kind of book.” That ticks two boxes at once: auditory processing troubles and special interests.

At one point, Beau references Frankenstein and Caleb doesn’t understand what she’s saying. It’s possible, out-of-universe, that this was a meta reference to Frankenstein not existing in the story’s universe, but consider—in-universe, Beau must have referenced the story world’s equivalent of Frankenstein, and Caleb did not get that reference. Therefore: Caleb is not only having difficulty following her metaphor, but he’s missed a pop culture reference.

EPISODE THREE:

caleb is nonverbal after he “gets over [his reaction to casting firebolt]”; he “doesn’t say anything, but starts pushing bodies onto the back of the cart”

stays nonverbal for A While; “during all the busywork, i’m not saying anything, but i keep giving worried and stressed glances at my little friend”

in the middle of planning, with zero transition or context, caleb goes, “also i have a cat” and doesn’t offer context til jester goes ?? yes he’s cute?

gets excited & dances in the street w/nott on his shoulders (stim!!)

nott, when caleb ignores jester in favor of reading: he gets like this when he’s studying. he gets very focused, it’s best not to disturb him

“i prefer him as a cat, to be honest, but in a pinch–” change Bad, cat Good

when jester braids caleb’s hair, liam says “it feels nice”; Sensory Good

“i’m a good talker when i have to be”; qualifies the statement, implying it’s an occasional mask he dons when Necessary

E4:

nott: no one’s going to be around to save you if you get into trouble caleb: i’m almost dead already nott: yeah, that’s not good jester: that’s not comforting, caleb

at the very end of caleb’s conversation w/the guard, liam says caleb looks him in the eye, which implies he was Avoiding eye contact before that

caleb, in court, bluntly: i’m a dirty hobo and i reek like yesterday’s garbage

caleb, abruptly: well, you know, this is very fascinating, but i have some errands to run. nott, would you like to run errands with me? we are totally coming back and not leaving on our own undercover

caleb calls the old shopkeep “grandfather”; he does this with other elderly folks in later episodes too [the woman in the melora statue; madam musk], even when he knows their names. seems like maybe an internal rule that he has to refer to old folks this way bc it’s Respectful?

caleb, overexplaining: this is called a bath nott: i’ve heard of them caleb, still overexplaining: a hot bath

E5:

caleb: before i go away, am i looking for anything specific? beau: just people coming caleb, echoing: people coming…

caleb ducks back behind a corner mid-fight & says “nein nein nein"; repetitive speech

caleb later ducks back behind the same corner & says “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”; Big Autistic Mood

coin-counting!!

E6:

[abruptly] “well, my social anxiety is getting the best of me. i’m taking a walk. goodbye” + brisk exit

“sorry, my curiosity gets the best of me, always”; blurts out questions

caleb realizes belatedly that his question abt alfield giving them extra coin was callous, goes “it’s asking a bit much, i was too forward”; low empathy

“i’’m sorry, it’s very noisy in the shop. what did you say?”; APD

the whole conversation in the shop caleb is just–super blunt. “i’ve been on the road a long time and i’m carrying a smell with me, if you cannot tell" “to the point, i like it” “i don’t mean cheap shit” “well, it’s a barn, ja?”

caleb, on being reminded that people are dying: maybe i can put [turning frumpkin back into a cat] on hold, although i really hate to (emotional support animal + Different Is Bad + low empathy)

“we can do both, but there is a timestamp on the people. we should take care of the people first, because then we’re increasing how much gold we will bring in, because if they die then we will not get as much money for them if they are alive”; low empathy + extreme practicality

E7:

“yes, handle this [grievously injured] child, but then we’re very curious to ask a couple–i’ll shut up”; [sing-song voice] low empathy……

caleb: you know, it’s funny, because only about 30 minutes ago i also had a bird, but he was obliterated beau: oh, that’s right caleb: it was very sad. i’ll bring him back tomorrow shakaste: thanks for that caleb, oblivious: he and i, we are [crosses fingers] like that

E8:

jester: well, she’s mostly known for her hmm-hmm-hmm. outside of that, her voice is amazing, you should hear her sing caleb: what does that mean? jester: what does what mean? caleb: hmm-hmm-hmm

E9:

feel like it’s worth noting this is the episode where beau tells caleb “maybe you would know what we’re up to if you went along with the group for once!” & from there on out p much invariably caleb makes it a point to step back & go along wherever the group wants. so–internal rule!

“i’ve got to stop complimenting you, it does not lead to good moments” + immediately walks away

beau, shouting: he said enTHUSIASM! caleb, jumping & cringing: ohH jeez!!

caleb sees that yasha is uncomfortable w/jester hugging her & does an Understanding Nod; yasha says, “i’m very uncomfortable with human touch” & caleb goes “i feel like i know you better now”; reads as Same Hat

gets angry at jester. swipes mud down his face in a wordless fuck-you. doesn’t rly align w/any specific autistic traits but listen. listen. does that seem like the kind of thing a neurotypical would do? i don’t think so.

hello! i hope you don’t mind a q: ive id’d as aro for so long id rather talk to a community than a q&a blog. basically, ive been in a qpr for about 6mo with a rly lovely person. im happy and were communicating a lot, but im finding that as the initial stronger “honeymoon” feelings settle down, im becoming more confused abt how love feels or what im “supposed” to be feeling in a qpr. do you have insight? also idm if you toss this to other followers instead of using spoons to respond personally

Oh, anon, I understand that, so no worries. I don’t follow any 101/ask-styleblogs for any of my identities because so many conversations are on alevel of identity exploration no longer relevant to me.

I will say that I am not the world’s most experienced person when it comesto relationships, so I encourage folks who feel that they relate to your wordsto comment away, because your personal experience is much more important thanmy rambling. (And thanks for being such a dear about my spoons!)

I will also say, more for other people reading this post than for you, anon,that I consider thispost by @aroacepagans​ and thispost by @aphobephobe essential reading on the subject of queerplatonicrelationships, especially in terms of exploring what QPRs are and how theyfunction as a response to amatonormativity. These posts convey a note of “QPRsdescribe non-amatonormative relationships that fit the needs of theparticipants as opposed to the amatonormative mold of participants shaped tofit the relationship” that form the backbone of how I understand a QPR.

Anon, I am wary of words like “should” and “supposed”.

They’re words I tend to say unthinkingly: I should feel this, I shouldn’twant this, I’m supposed to do this more easily, I’m supposed tounderstand, I’m not supposed to be confused. They’re words that compareourselves to an illusion of experience and leave us wanting, and the goodpsychologists I’ve worked with made interrupting noises every time I spokethem. Yes, Western society has a raft of rules about how to be human that itexpects me to live up to, but are those rules right and fair? Do theyacknowledge my limitations and struggles and differences, or do they make me feel bad about being shoved in a box that doesn’t fit me? Is there anything about the litany of shouldand supposed that allows us to regard ourselves, as we truly are, withkindness and compassion?

Are we truly supposed to feel anything? Or is it kinder to let go ofthe idea that we are supposed to feel in any specific way, to giveourselves space to feel as we do?

What is love, then? What does it feel like? Whatever love is or howmuch it matters, no two people are going to have the same answer orunderstanding on how it works, what it feels like to experience and howimportant it is to possess it or understand it. I find love to be anebulous concept at best, and I don’t use it as a basis for defining how I careabout other people. I come across as that heartless aro autistic byalloromantic and allistic norms because I cannot perform socially-centred love, but I find peace in centring things I better understand, likegratitude, connection and compassion. Other people will feel differently ofcourse, but I think it proves that there is no universal understanding of whatlove is, its importance or the ways in which it operates and is expressed (justas there’s no true universalunderstanding of what romance is or how it operates).

If love is an individualised experience, even though society pushes theillusion it isn’t, is there any way to determine what it’s “supposed” to feellike or when I’m “supposed” to feel it, even if/when it’s non-romantic?

The aro-spec community looked at the amatonormative mould of romanticattraction and love as universal, said no, that doesn’t work for us, andthen developed a relationship model that ignores it. For this reason, as weknow what it means to be erased by a model that doesn’t serve us, it seems tome that determining how we’re supposed to feel love in a QPR undermines thespirit of naming QPRs in the first place.

I will push for QPRs to be individualistic at heart, defined by the peoplewithin them, with limitless possibilities for what their love/connection looks like andhow relevant love/connection is to those involved. If you are in a QPR, anon? If you andyour partner are content? Then your love is enough, and your love is right forthat QPR, and there is no need for a map of supposed to shove you onto apre-existing road. You can build your own, designed for the relationship you’rein.

Unlike a romantic relationship, that’s a scary thing: there’s no outline ofprogression, no map to follow, no pre-marked stops on the route ahead of you,fewer folks who can advise you. There’s fewer narratives on what a QPR maylook like long-term, where you might end up, or what this relationship mightbecome under stress or tension—or how to keep a QPR together under thoseforces. I have a feeling, anon, that this is from where your ask may be coming,and that’s a weight all aro-specs bear in varying ways, this sense that we’rewalking paths nobody has travelled before us. You’re not alone in it, andyou’re right to struggle with it (I know I do!) but I don’t think there’s anyanswer for you in my positing what your love or any other feelings in a QPR is “supposed” to be.

(I’d love to see discussions about folks in longer-term QPRs and howthey deal with tensions and outside stresses on and within their relationship,especially for situations when romantic relationships serve as no usefulguideline or parallel. We need more mature conversations on QPRs that gowell beyond their inception and focus instead on the long-term building andthe sustaining of them under social and amatonormative pressures.)

If you’re concerned, anon, ask your partner. Talk about what it is you feel,ask what they feel. Talk about what love means to you and them, talk about whata QPR means to you and them, talk about the lack of social narrative to guideyou both and how that impacts you and them, talk about this feeling that youdon’t know what you’re “supposed” to feel in terms of love in a QPR, talkabout expectations and dreams and needs, talk. I'd be surprised if your partnerisn’t feeling some of this, too, and it’s so much easier to endure the pressureof “supposed” when you’ve got someone to share it with!

I don’t believe that there’s any kind of love or other feelings we’re “supposed” to feel in aQPR, and I’d never draw lines for you or anyone else on that point. All I cando is validate you in my belief that if your love or connection is accepted and valued by you and your partner, that’s all that matters.

acknowledges when i’m really trying hard at things, esp. things that involve me pushing myself outside of my comfort zone

is understanding of the fact i don’t rly like hugs; is very very v e r  y rare that she demands one from me, like i can think of 1 whole time in my whole life she didn’t let me refuse

WARNING: if you hate/strongly dislike Patty or spallen, WALK AWAY NOW. If you hate/strongly dislike Iris/westallen, also leave. This post is not for you. It's just some venting I needed to do, b/c my emotions have been building lately & they need to be released. ... It's that time of year again. Time to defend my fav temporary ship... "That's why he acted so disinterested in her while they were dating." -quote from recent WA vid I watched. -OMG. I am sick and tired of Patty just being lumped in as another girl who didn't measure up to Iris in all these posts and vids I've been seeing. I mean, yes, Barry wasn't in love with her. And yeah, Iris meant more to him than she did. But STOP using that one look Barry gave when Patty gave him her number as proof that he wasn't interested in her. I could show you a TON of times where his face absolutely lit up when he was around her. He was just taken by surprise early on and was holding himself back b/c he was hung up on Iris. But he had FEELINGS for Patty, and they were REAL. He rly liked her. A little nudging from Iris, and he was going to tell her he was the Flash! I mean, yes, he didn't fight for her & a couple eps later he was puddle of goo when he came face to face with Iris West-ALLEN on Earth 2, but I firmly believe he deliberately didn't fight for Patty b/c he realized her leaving town would successfully put her out of Zoom's obvious reach. He wouldn't have to worry about her being a target anymore and he could just focus on stopping Zoom. He HAD to push her away (even if it meant being emotionally cruel) in order to get her to LEAVE. You could SEE he was a wreck after their final confrontation in his lab. You can't convince me of any other reason he'd suddenly flip his switch from 2x10 to 2x11. It was NOT b/c he suddenly didn't care about her anymore after one week (or less) of being broken up. I just don't buy that. Even in 2x13 he mentions that he still misses her (despite forgetting her the second he spots E2!Iris lmao). But he was RLY into Patty. She was adorable & funny & they had a lot in common - BARRY's words. And despite what a majority of WA shippers personally think (I've noticed), I thought Grant & Shantel had a TON of chemistry. Without it, I don't think I would've gotten onboard w/ spallen, given how much I was dreading Barry getting in a relationship with someone who wasn't Iris. For crying out loud, he clearly felt bad about breaking things off with Linda as soon as he found out that deep down Iris had feelings for him, and he was dating her for way less time than he was Patty. All this is to say, while westallen is absolutely my OTP & I'd be horrified if Patty was brought back now b/c I truly believe spallen's chapter is done & I absolutely don't want it resurrected, I absolutely despise seeing Patty lumped in as a girl Barry didn't rly care about. To extend that to their actual dating relationship too?! Unbelievable. If Barry hadn't cared about her, he wouldn't have dated her. B/c that wouldn't have been fair to her or himself. Do I believe he'd prob have broken things off w/ her if he suddenly found out Iris wanted to be w/ him, the same as what happened with Linda? Yes. But that doesn't mean he didn't care about or wasn't attracted to Patty, b/c he was. Joe saw it plain as day, and he sure wasn't looking for it. If I had time, I'd make a big post w/ PICTURES showing my proof of all of this. But I won't subject my followers to that b/c I know most of you follow my blog for my westallen love & high key disagree w/ a lot of what's in this post, but it has just rly annoyed me what I've been seeing lately & I had to say something. Yes, Patty isn't Iris, and inevitably she wouldn't have been enough. But imo she could've amounted to Barry what Eddie was for Iris. Eventually (had Patty not left for the incredibly stupid reason that she did - s1!Iris SL anyone??), they would've fallen in love and lasted long term. Not forever b/c his heart is set on Iris and always will be, and it would've been unfair to Patty to pretend that wasn't the case, and he would've realized that eventually. But okay, his relationship with Patty was LEGIT. Plz stop using these ridiculous excuses & "proof" to say it wasn't. *DEEP BREATH* Okay, I'm done. ... Side note: plz don't send me asks raging abt how my thoughts here are false or how much you disagree w/ them, etc. I know y'all disagree b/c I've posted spallen posts in the past & lived to regret it. I just needed to get this off my chest. On the flip side, if you're a hardcore spallen fan & think they were so much better than westallen & Patty is better than Iris & spallen should be endgame instead, just...no. I can fight for westallen even harder than spallen, so don't even try. All I want is spallen to get the respect they deserve as a legitimate relationship, but not all the love that I had for them (& I loved them a LOT) could've equaled me wanting them as endgame. So, just...walk away. I know there are very few fans out there who ship both spallen & westallen, & also have the latter as their endgame OTP, but sometimes I multiship & that's the case w/ Barry. Though only w/ Patty. I wasn't feeling it w/ Linda OR Felicity. (The Felicity concept actually annoys me since I adore their friendship so much & feel like a potential romance ruins that.) And there was never anything w/ Caitlin, so I'm not even comparing her in the short term. Again, preferably no asks about this post, unless you agree or feel like you can discuss it objectively, which I'm also very capable of doing. I reeeeally needed to get this off my chest, but I don't want it to become a point of contention in my inbox. That is all. Thank you in advance.

how they met: 

they met @ a clothing store !!! the stylists had finally caught on that yoongi had been taking home his ~work clothes because honestly he had been a lil too lazy to shop or dress himself lately and after he gave them back he was left w very little clean things and didn’t want to go through their communal laundry pile n figure out what was his so he decided to just shop instead. so he went out w the standard celebrity hat + mask disguise combo and tbh noticed y/n working in the shop right away bc she was in the darks section hidden between two racks of sweaters n secretly using her phone. and it was kinda cute n funny to him 1. bc she was slacking off during work and 2. bc she was dressed in white n pastel pink so she did more standing out than blending in. n so yoongi pretended to look thru a rack of black sweaters for a few mins before he cleared his throat n said “is playing hide and seek part of the job?” and y/n obvi jumped bc she didn’t even realize someone had been in that section and dropped her phone on the ground. so she was pouty and ready to kinda say something bratty back but as soon as she took one look @ yoongi n his hat + mask she bursted into laughter and said “you look like a walking police sketch” min yoongi pretty much lost to the demonic possession that is love @ that very moment

her parents run an art gallery in gangnam !!! they always gave her lots of freedom 2 pursue her own interests so when she was little she did everything from piano to taekwondo to dance to collecting dragon ball figurines but also rilakkumas. she never rly had 2 worry abt anything bc her parents are super supportive. and now……..because she’s always had so much freedom, she doesn’t exactly know what she wants to do w her life ??? because a lot of things interest her ?? and choosing one thing doesn’t seem like a decision she’s ready to make yet !?? so she got the job @ the clothing store bc she wanted some responsibility  (even tho she breaks company policy n is on her phone half of her shift) and routine. n it made her feel a little less guilty abt being ~taken care of i guess ???? but tbh she doesn’t give herself enough credit bc she does a lot for other ppl ??? esp for her parents like she’s always helping out @ the gallery and running errands hmm other things. she has an older brother who studies film (her fam is generally v artistic) n he’s quite serious n like the definition of perfect child and she likes to tease him a lot but she takes care of him a bit too she’ll call him like “ i dropped off some candles n boxes of tea @ ur apartment bc yesterday you looked so stressed u kinda resembled goku abt to go super saiyan. that can’t be good for ur health !!! take care of urself ”!!!! um tbh when yoongi n y/n were getting to know each other like ~deeply she was kinda worried that he’d be put off by her upbringing bc tho they are not completely polar opposite, his is still very very different from hers and she was afraid that maybe he’d judge her for it but it wasn’t like that @ all !!!! yoongi was v happy & relived (?!!!) to hear this bc he knew that she had 3 pillars of support if he couldn’t be there for some reason and also it was so……….. relieving………. for his heart to know that she hadn’t been hardened by the world ??? and like y/n had been studying his reaction super closely totally prepared for some judgment but the only thought in yoongi’s head was “thank god thank god thank god” because y/n is like his own little heaven & that’s hella cheesy for him to think so it’s probably why he calls her demon instead. he likes that she has many interests because she always has something new to tell him and she knows a little abt everything so when they go out n she explains something to him he feels proud ???? and impressed and smitten ?? and not the usual annoyed bc she talks abt things a lot cuter and with less pretense than namjoon does when he’s being a know it all. but he doesn’t feel like y/n is a know it all. she’s just a sharer !!!! she wants to share everything w yoongi from random facts abt soccer or art or the extensive n complicated backstory of the band gorillaz & she gets excited about it and yoongi LOVES it !!!! he loves that when she’s excited the first thing she thinks abt is telling him so he can be excited too and he loves that he doesn’t have to guess what she’s thinking or feeling bc she tells him everything. she doesn’t hide from him and so he feels like he can’t hide from her and pushes himself to be more honest and open and it’s so relieving to finally be able to fully share himself w someone !!! the only thing that takes years off his life is that yoongi is like 90% of y/n’s impulse control (i think u could tell that in a few texts) lmao

it was predating. yoongi was walking y/n to work one morning (which….. he’d rather be sleeping but he wouldn’t be able to see her for a week after that so he decided to milk all the time he had) n they decided to stop @ custard bread lady’s shop bc it was open and on the route 2 y/n’s job so it seemed pretty convenient (they had never been there before) n the plan was to get yoongi’s black coffee & y/n’s hot chocolate n get out of there within 5mins which seems like a reasonable plan but little did they know a middle aged man from h e l l would be the customer ahead of them. & every time yoongi tells this story he swears this man must’ve had zero concept of the coffee making process bc he was like ridiculously offended that he’d have to wait a few minutes for his coffee n completely yelling @ custard bread lady for no reason which was……….delaying the production of his coffee even further. n y/n wanted to step in so bad yoongi could see it all over her face she wanted 2 straight falcon punch this middle aged dude all the way to whatever sad desk job he has for disrespecting the god they would come 2 know as custard bread lady. but he knows her. she’s too high maintence for prison.  so yoongi rolls his eyes and very loudly says “just go buy a bottled coffee from f*cking starbucks if ur really in that much of a hurry” and the man turns around like what did u say u punk. who do u think you’re talking to. and yoongi has decided to just completely pretend like he didn’t say anything bc if u dont give demons like this attention they’ll eventually go away so he takes the opportunity 2 step up to the counter n is like “can we have a black coffee n hot chocolate pls we’re prepared 2 wait as long as u need” n custard bread lady is so confused bc the man is like still yelling @ yoongi (who is holding tightly onto y/n so she doesnt turn around like “HE SAIIIIIIIID JUST GO BUY A BOTTLED COFFEE FROM F*C—”) so custard bread lady prepares their order n the guy is yelling @ yoongi who is now scrolling through twitter on his phone & taking mental note of all the new curse words he’s learned from this man and eventually that dude leaves (not without threatening to find yoongi later) and custard bread lady is relieved that he’s gone & is thanking them like they’re some kind of heroes & they’re like we literally didnt do anything @ all. but she’s appreciative anyway n throws in free bread w/ their order and unknowingly changed their lives n taste buds 4ever 🍞

how they met: 

they met @ uni !!! seokjin is hardly ever on campus (he’s a v busy man) so he was super super lost n confused trying to find a restroom one day. and while he was wandering through the halls he saw y/n carrying a 50 ft stack (an exaggeration) of coloring books (there’s a reason ehehheh) and even tho his bladder was abt 2 explode he ran over to help her bc it really looked like she’d fall over if a spec of dust landed on top of them. but being suddenly approached by a tall n broad (n handsome) guy startled y/n so s he fell over anyway. and seokjin laughed his rly rly loud goofy laugh as he picked up the coloring books surrounding her and made a rly cheesy  "wow i didn’t think you’d fall for me this quickly"  joke & @ first y/n was completely appalled but then she realized he wasn’t laughing at her he was laughing at his own joke lmao !!!! not everyone is as confident n open as seokjin he has no problem talking 2 ppl but it was kind of not the case for y/n she didn’t rly know what to say or do so he did abt 90% of the talking as he carried the coloring books (he didn’t ask abt them) to wherever they needed to go n y/n did abt 100% of the laughing bc seokjin held back a little not wanting 2 overwhelm her and because he rly liked hearing her laugh for some reason. so they get 2 where y/n needs to go n seokjin puts everything down n jokingly asks if there’s a 50ft stack of colored pencils that he also needs to bring in n she laughs again so he’s satisfied n decides to quit while he’s ahead. before he leaves he asks 4 her number and also directions to the nearest restroom !!!!!!!

she wants to be a teacher. a kindergarten or elementary school teacher❗️👩🏻‍🏫 she’s like a teaching assistant rn n she’s almoooooooost finished w school !!!! i think what she wants 2 do says a lot abt her personality. very patient very kind & gentle !!!!!! and will indulge in ~childish things like games the way seokjin does !!! but i don’t think she’s as outgoing as him she’s more introverted n shy !!!! she’s the oldest in her family n has 2-3 younger siblings so i think that’s part of the reason why she wants to work w kids so much bc she’s good w them and she loves interacting w them and she has more patience than others do so she’s rly good @ taking the time to understand them…………and seokjin lmao. she listens to him like genuinely listens & appreciates what he has to say and it rly means a lot to him bc there’s certain times when he feels under appreciated or like his voice doesn’t matter but she takes him 100% seriously. she encourages all the silly behavior he’s usually told to suppress bc that’s his charm !! and she thinks he’s sincerely funny and cute and interesting and smart. and tbh most people don’t rly remember that seokjin is his family’s maknae and being the oldest of 7 dudes was probably hard to adjust to !!! they talk abt cooking & baking !! it’s usually seokjin leading and y/n assisting but she’s the one who finds the recipes and stuff n gets so excited bc “omg seokjin is gonna LOVE this !!!!!” and tbh she’s so soft for seokjin he still flusters her a lot even tho they’ve been together for a while so whenever she calls him handsome or cute it’s not bc she knows he wants to hear it but bc she’s still like so in awe of him n probably won’t ever stop. family is so important to her & hers really ADORES seokjin like she mentioned how much her mom loves and brags abt him & that makes her so happy ! n it makes him happy too bc he fits right in & he feels like he belongs ! @ the beginning seokjin was rly worried about scaring her off bc she seemed so shy and stuff and he didn’t wanna overwhelm her but they both got comfortable super quickly bc seokjin is such an easy person to be around and once she started opening up he brought out his full personality. and it’s feels so nice to be himself and have someone w/ common interests and someone he can talk to without feeling like he’s whining. he loves her a lot like rly rly rly loves her n is willing to put aside his pride & admit that she might be the most beautiful person on this planet. he loves to take photos of her when they’re out eating n stuff n it makes her shy but he just like loves looking at her and probably spends most of the day remembering her face. but he also loves like how good she is !! like just a genuinely good person w a pure heart and he thinks it’s so cute that all the games she plays are like super mellow nintendo games like animal crossing !!! he probably bought the game too just so he could give her the fruit from his town and bury bells outside of her house. omg he probably screams when he shakes a tree and bees start chasing him and y/n thinks it’s so cute & funny to watch him panic n then complain abt his character’s visual being compromised bc of the stings. tbh they’d be THAT family that has like a yt account where seokjin uploads vids of him & his son’s mario maker map or snack reviews and u can hear y/n laughing in the background as she’s filming. good & pure.

these 2 frogs met outside a convenience store lmao !!!! u know those claw game machines where u spend like a billion quarters just to fail @ winning a plushie 50 consecutive times ??? that’s what guk was doing. mingyu made the mistake of saying those things were impossible and of course guk had to prove him wrong. honestly @ the time he didn’t even know why he had so many quarters in his wallet but he’d later find out that it was one of taehyung’s weird pranks that he’ll forever be grateful for because y/n who was eating her convenience store ramen very very slowly had been watching him lose to the machine 7 times in a row and tbh it was so f*vkifng funny to her and watching the rly cute guy getting scammed by a machine had made her forget abt the mental breakdown she had bc of exams 1hr earlier. so she stuffed her snacks in her backpack n watched him fail just once more before sauntering over as he turned to complain to his friend. y/n smiled n said hey as she put 2 quarters into the machine & guk turned around v v v startled but his surprised rounded eyes soon filled w/ awe ? admiration ? worship ? as y/n managed to successfully capture a plushie within 4 seconds n then slid it into the large pocket of his hoodie after she pulled it out of the slot. but guk couldn’t do much 2 respond bc what tf a goddess was standing in front of him??! this divine and hot as hell supreme being who conquered the cursed claw machine in 1 shot. so y/n taught him the secret to beat the game and mingyu had excused himself after the pair had won two more plushies together and guk didn’t even feel bad that he had forgotten that his friend was there bc this really really interesting convenience store girl was leaning over his shoulder n coaching him as he went for the doramon plushie and her hair smelt like strawberries. when he walked her back to her dorm there were 3 plushies in the pocket of his hoodie, one in his actual hood, 3 in y/n’s backpack and one in her arms.

backstory: jeongguk’s y/n

a student !!! she’s a 1st yr university student. she kinda reflects where guk might be if he was a ~normal dude. i think that’s why the way they met is kinda important bc it was 2 ppl the same age @ the same place @ the same time but @ two completely diff places in life & feeling completely diff emotions. she grew up in a competitive environment bc her dad is a taekwondo instructor and her brother is a well decorated like student athlete type of thing in that sport. omg so she spent a lot of time there and idk why i gave her a tiny bit of sad story but she lived most of her life w/o her mom so it’s always been her & her dad & brother like eating take out n watching sports together @ home and that was more than enough 4 her. only her & yoongi’s y/n & hoseok’s y/n seem to be genuinely interested in idol groups and for her i think it’s bc she rly turned to girl group members for her female role models n stuff !!!!! she’s living away from her dad & brother for university & that’s probably why she was having a hard time that night they met. and bc guk knows she’s alone he gives her a lot of attention (in f2l texts he always wanted to talk on the phone or FaceTime even tho they weren’t together yet & he talked abt how he loves being w her even tho sometimes he’s just keeping her company while she studies) guk’s y/n is smart and witty and confident and guk really really really thinks she’s wonder woman or something. in his eyes she can do ANYTHING they joke a loooooot and roast each other a looooooooot but he truly believes she’s the most capable person in the world and he thinks super super super highly of her. she’s funny and dependable and ambitious and understanding and she respects the creative direction of his dubsmash vids lmao. bc they joke around so much guk always takes the time to let her know how much he cares abt her so she doesn’t miss understand. like in the christmas texts and valentine’s texts he’s one of the only members 2 rly pour out his feelings bc he makes sure to put in the effort during special days. y/n sometimes tells him that he doesn’t need to bc she knows without him having to say it and she doesn’t want him to feel pressured but he thinks it’s really important that she hears it from him. it’s a real concern for him he’s mentioned it a few times that his instinct is to show affection through teasing her & memes but that’s bc he was scared of the vulnerability @ first but now he’s a self proclaimed Emo™ and let’s her know that she’s loved by him. their personalities are really really similar so they understand each other easily but are different enough that they compliment each other well and are literally each other’s partner in crime (they talk abt how much trouble they get into). idk if any of u watch running man but there’s this episode when haha’s wife guest stars and they’re paired as a team and the dynamic is sooooooo guk & y/n bc even tho they’re competitive and she’s yelling @ him to endure just a little bit longer so they can win the challenge she’s still being like affectionate n like calling him pet names while coaching him and after he gets eliminated from another challenge and it’s her turn he does the same for her and they won the show that day by like playing to the other teams weaknesses and gassing each other up @ the same time omg & the last challenge was something romantic like they had to both pick a random floor of the building to meet on and if they chose the same one then they’d win and they both picked their anniversary and won & it was so funny & cute bc they were like screaming. and that’s how guk & y/n are. partners in crime but @ the end of the day Emos In Luv.

they met…………@ the dmv hehehehehehh! jimin can’t drive yet but he really really wants to and in korea u gotta take one written test n two driving tests. mini is there for the first driving test n he’s sosososo nervous bc if he fails this he really won’t hear the end of it from the others……….especially jeon jeongguk. he’s gone over the procedure abt a thousand times in his head and he’s convinced that he’s ready but then the small waiting room door opens and in walks y/n dressed in all white & her hair in pretty bun (she looks like she has v important plans after this) and she’s reading the driving manual they gave him after his written test and jimin is surprised bc he for sure thought he’d get celeb privilege n take the test alone (plus its early morning who else would be here). y/n sits beside him and notices he’s not studying @ all so she’s like hey wanna share my book !!!! and omg shy jimin is like o….kay…….sure as she scoots closer to him. n jimin pretends to read the left page but rly he’s looking @ her through his peripheral n listening to her whisper the ~important things on the right page to herself and it’s kinda calming but also making him incredibly nervous. n when y/n notices he’s totally not reading she closes the book and introduces herself and jimin (v shyly) does the same n she tells him that she thinks she has a 3% chance of passing considering that her brother has been teaching her & it took him 3 tries to get his license n mini laughs @ this and says that he has a 5% chance of passing because bc he only studied last night and exactly 0 ppl have been teaching him how to drive. so they go out to take their tests and jimin cheers for y/n and she fails n y/n cheers for jimin & he fails but it’s ok and jimin’s like “it looked like u were playing v bad gta” n y/n’s like “well u looked like u were 8th place in mariokart” and while the instructor went to schedule another test for them they were talking abt the teasing they’d get from their friends n jimin was describing guk like an elementary school bully & y/n was like “ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ he’s probably just jealous bc ur more handsome than he is” & jimin was gooooooone
