EVERYONE HUSH AND THINK ABOUT TEch rushing off the Marauder after a mission but not because there's anything wrong he just found the prettiest rock and wanted to tell Phee all about it
And she takes it and they talk about the rock for hours and Tech(begrudgingly) let's her keep it because he liked the way she smiled at it more than the research he could do with it
And Phee turns it into a necklace for them. Two of them, matching. Techs never seen without it.

yeah yeah i know i usually post silly little anecdotes about the bad batch but how about some real analysis?
people have said it before but truly the only way for this show to have a message and meaning in the end is for it to have a happy (if not that then bittersweet) ending.
the whole point of the show is family, specifically clone force 99/the bad batch as a family. the show literally starts with them accepting omega into their family. throughout the show, this theme of family is repeated. them helping hera syndulla rescue her parents. them helping rex rescue their fellow clones because they're all brothers. phee introducing them to her family on pabu.
star wars has always had a message of love and family, but more often than not, that ends in tragedy. we're all hoping the bad batch will give us that ending where they're all reunited. they'll rescue omega/all escape tantiss in some way, tech will be revealed as cx-2 (i'm a supporter of this theory and for this post i'm going to assume he is cx-2), and they're able to all go and be TOGETHER as a family. what they do after that doesn't matter. they just need to be together.
i can see any of them sacrificing themselves in the finale, but the whole point should be that they're not ALLOWED to. not when they're this close. not when they're a family again. not when crosshair is back. not when they learn tech is alive. not when omega is safe. whoever (likely hunter or echo) tries to sacrifice themselves needs to be held back. because family is the point. because they're not letting ANYONE else pull a plan 99.
the bad batch show might be ending, but it shouldn't be the end of them as a squad. they HAVE to live. because family is the point, because they protect each other, because they're allowed that quiet life of not being soldiers and that time to heal and to join the rebellion if they want to. but if hunter, wrecker, crosshair, and echo die, and tech is either not cx-2 or they can't save him, and omega stays in tantiss forever, it destroys their whole theme that they've spent the whole show developing.
tragic endings and stories are star wars specialty (the prequels, the clone wars, rogue one, andor, hell even rebels and solo to an extent). the bad batch has potential to show us that there is that other central theme of star wars: hope. there's hope for our main characters and that they'll be the ones who show us that not every hero who fights for the rebellion/the republic just faces tragedy. there's hope that omega can grow up in peace. there's hope that hunter can have his quiet life away from being a soldier. there's hope that echo can keep fighting for what he believes in, that crosshair can heal, that tech will live, that wrecker will see all his brothers again.
basically, star wars give us a happy ending to this story of family and hope. we deserve it, the characters deserve it, and the story deserves it.

Second wild theory based on some thoughts and your tags that all Phee and Tan want is a confession: what if that's true? What if Phee and/or Tan gets the gun and starts an exposition drop about Non while holding the remaining boys are gunpoint and demanding answers and THEN THEY GET ATTACKED BY THE KILLER WHO IS NON'S BROTHER???
First, I need you to know that on a scale of "being completely normal about this show" to "if this show fails me, it'll be my villain origin story" that I'm currently FAR PAST the latter.
So with that being stated, I'm operating off of Wild Ass (Slasher) Theory 101 for this show aka
We've already met the killers and brother.
TLWR: Non is still alive. And it's all Dr. Sammon and Pit Babe's fault.
All the players are already on the board. We've seen all them in the first half, so now we are being reminded that we have seen them in the second half, like how the woman Keng was speaking to on the phone in episode seven about the money laundering was there in episode six.
Tumblr media
And Perth's character was there too. (In the background in the purple/black jackets with the grey shirt)
Tumblr media
So we've already met the brother somewhere in the first six episodes. Considering that two of those episodes were set in the past and Non would've noticed his brother, that means that we've seen the brother in the present.
Tumblr media
We all keep stating White or Tan is Non's brother. There are some theories Perth is Non's brother, but he didn't notice him the gambling hall, and if the parents are really sending money to their gambling son then what is life?
Tumblr media
White is my vote for final gay, and yours too. White is morally superior to the rest of the group and he is clever, which are two qualities a final girl must have. He also has a thin background story - he is dating Tee. Tan has no background story. He is simply everyone's friend who came along AFTER Non went missing; therefore, he is Non's brother.
Tumblr media
And I think that Phi and Tan wanted the boys to confess to whatever they did to Non. Phi's dad was and perhaps still is a police chief. Tee's uncle is possibly going to jail, but wanted Non dead. Perth's character might be an uncovered reporter like the lady speaking to Keng was, and maybe, just maybe, the knowledge of what happened to Non could be of use to somebody beyond just Tan and Phi.
So scare the living shit out of the boys? Sure! Terrify the hell out of them? Of course! Maybe stab them a little bit here and there? Well, when in Rome (or the woods), do as the Romans do. Give them some hallucinogenics? Duh! Yet I don't think they intended to kill any of them (well, at least not until they got the confession).
Tumblr media
But Por just had to run into the damn tree after seeing something in the camera.
Tumblr media
Which caused Phi to ask Fluke how long he could keep Por alive since they planned to get that confession before the next vehicle arrived. But then Fluke cancelled their Uber.
Tumblr media
White found the walkie-talkie that could be called for help. White found the gun that Fluke is now waving at everyone. White found the knife. White realized there was no cell phone service. White saw the tape. Pure and innocent White just keeps doing ALL the things that nobody asked him to do when WHITE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO EVEN BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Tumblr media
But now we have Jin seeing Mr. Keng, and Fluke spilling all the tea as he screams that "these fuckers killed someone," so Tan is going to get what he came for one way or another, even if a couple of dead bodies have to be exchanged for him to finally hear what happened three years ago to his brother?
Tumblr media
And all of this makes sense in my head. Tan and Phi just wanted a confession. They didn't want anyone to die. However, they couldn't control every aspect of this weekend plan and shit went off the rails. Por ran into a tree. Fluke got a gun. Their Uber was cancelled. And now they have to figure out how to finish this murder mystery party when half the participants are losing their effing minds.
But then there is Uncle Dang.
Tumblr media
And our Troublesome Trio looked genuinely shooketh when they saw what had become of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Wild Ass (Slasher) Theory 101, nothing is supernatural. The killer can be everywhere because there is more than one killer, and that's why I'm praying Non is still alive.
Tumblr media
The boys made Non the killer. Jin said since Non wrote the killer, Non would understand him better than anyone else.
Uncle Dang died first in the original film. Por was the director who took Non's writing credit. Top was the next to die before he screamed "cut!" at everyone. Fluke was probably next after that. Tee replaced Non, so it would have been Tee and Jin in the end, and Jin was the original main character and final gay as he deserted Non in the woods.
Non is finishing his movie, the way he wrote it.
And this is where my crazy really kicks in.
Phi knows.
Tumblr media
Por, Fluke, Tee, Top, and Jin did a very bad thing to Non and ALL have seen and heard something out there in the woods.
White is Tee's boyfriend. He came around after Non went missing. He has seen a rash on his skin.
Tan is probably Non's brother. He wants a confession, but Tan saw something in the house that scared him.
Phi has seen . . . nothing. Phi has heard . . . nothing. He knew how to work the security system. He keeps giving orders. He continues to state the killer is a person.
And he'll do anything for Non.
Tumblr media
He was very upset at Non, but he did tell Non he'd forgive him . . . if Non got lost and died.
Tumblr media
Por, Fluke, Tee, Top, and Jin couldn't decide if Non was missing or dead, and the mafia is sending death threats and putting hits out on Non, so perhaps Non took a note from Pit Babe's Charlie and died. Or maybe he took a note from a different Tan and died (after killing his boyfriend).
Tumblr media
Dr. Sammon, the writer behind Manner of Death, and Pit Babe's writers are the writers for Dead Friend Forever. Pit Babe is based off a novel, but in the Venn Diagram of BLs in which someone fakes his death the overlap is very slim with Chains of Heart being the third, and surprisingly, the screen writer for that series also wrote the screenplay for Dr. Sammon's Make a Wish. The world is small.
So why not disappear? Why not fake his own death?
But also, why wait three years to show back up?
Tumblr media
Because the main threat is neutralized and awaiting jail time, but maybe, just maybe, Non hasn't been completely quiet for three years.
Tumblr media
Mr. Keng very well might have died from the mafia. He was warned to watch out knowing how dangerous investigating them could be.
But . . . what if somebody else killed him?
Tumblr media
Like I wrote at the beginning, I'm being crazy about this show. Wanting Non to be alive is very wishful thinking, but in my mind, if anyone is attacking these boys, I want it to be him. Tan seems pissed, but the most he has done is (intentionally) lose Top in the woods, and Phi is busy protecting Jin (because he wants to save him for last?), so they might start demanding answers in all this chaos, but if Phi's boyfriend died like Pit Babe's Charlie, don't you think he'd be like Barbie and forgive his boyfriend if he came back into his life magically? And don't you think he'd be willing to help his boyfriend get revenge on all the boys who left him for dead, especially the one who is about to leave the country forever?
Because I think he would.
Tumblr media
But, then again, Non could actually be dead and Jin could be a good guy who I keep incorrectly blaming for everything.
Tumblr media
Because it wouldn't be the first time Dr. Sammon killed a gay.
Tumblr media
But it would be the first time she kept him dead.
Tumblr media
So is this gonna be like Director Tee & Co. finally skipping out on a time jump when I needed it the most in Hidden Agenda even though that's what he is known to do, or is Dr. Sammon and the Pit Babe crew going to stick to the game plan and raise the gay from the dead?
Tumblr media
I guess I'll have to wait and see.

A Clones Reflection
Pairing: Hunter x f!reader
Word count: 1.8k
Summary: Hunter is self conscious about his weight gain as life on Pabu treats him well. Spoiled with sweets and meatier food than he’s use too, his body has gone soft around the edges.
Warnings: 18+, NSFW, weight gain, this is the softest smut I’ve probably ever written, insecure hunter, set on Pabu, married couple, hand job, I just want hunter’s back pressed against my chest as I jerk him off okay?
A/N: I wrote one for wrecker but it’s safe for work. I’ll link it here
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It started with Omega — actually it started with Wrecker and his never ending sweet tooth and pockets seemingly full of sweets every time he visits — but it’s Omega who got Hunter hooked on meiloorun melon flavoured sweets.
From there it became a nighttime snack, a variety of berry flavours filling up the pantry. You don’t mind; you’re always able to keep their diet a healthy balance to keep their arteries clogging, home cooked meals every night.
It’s Phee oddly enough who noticed the barely there loose skin around Hunter’s waist. You’ll admit you were confused as to why she was looking hard enough at your husband’s body to notice what you hadn’t yourself and why she thought it was appropriate to point it out. Phee had laughed off the way you bristled at her comment and said that Tech’s been filling out himself too, adding: It’s a good sign, don’t worry. It means that they’re healthy. After years of ration bars they deserve to be pampered a little bit.
She was right. Not only have Hunter and Tech filled out more, so had the others. Minus Crosshair. The sniper was ever so slim still. He could gain ten pounds and it wouldn’t be noticeable.
You never brought this discovery up to Hunter. At the time it didn’t seem important. He was getting softer and your love for him wasn’t growing any less, quite the opposite in fact. While you still have dreams about the man who literally swept you off your feet when you first met, saving you from an embarrassing fall, your breath catches in your throat when he’s standing in front of you shirtless, waist a little meatier than before.
One day you walk in on Hunter staring at himself in the mirror, only clad in briefs, a scowl on his face, fingers pinching at the loose skin on his hip, that you realise that maybe you should’ve brought it up. Let him know that he’s still insanely attractive, that you constantly want to jump his bones. Maybe then he wouldn’t be standing here, eyes dark and unforgiving as he wrongly judges his body.
“Babe?” You call out, frowning when he doesn’t respond. Doesn’t even acknowledge your presence, “Hunter? I’m home, and I got us dinner.” You hold up the bag containing said food but he still doesn’t answer.
You let out a sigh, wondering how long has he been standing like this? Hating what he sees, hating what you love. You drop the food down on the bedroom dresser, by all means you should take it to the kitchen and keep it warm, but that’s not as important. Not what you’re focusing on.
You notice Hunter’s ear twitch, finally noticing you’re in the room but his eyes never leave the mirror. His posture stiffens when you move closer, his eyes darting down to his waist, frozen as he stood inches from his reflection.
Your brow pinches in growing concern, “Talk to me, riduur, let me help.”
Hunter shook his head, “Nothings wrong. I’m fine.”
You don’t believe him but you're not sure on how to press the issue, “I got us dinner.”
“Thank you, mesh’la.” Hunter gives you a quick smile, but doesn't make any attempt at moving away from the mirror.
Your frown deepens and you move to stand behind him, his body blocking himself from seeing you but you’re not concerned about that. You pull his naked back flush against your chest, pressing open mouth kisses to his shoulder blade. The muscles under your lips flex, and you give another kiss there before pulling back, “You smell nice.”
“Had a shower. Omega wanted to go swimming before staying the night at the Hazards.”
“I’m surprised she’s still allowed over after showing Lyana how to use her bow,” You joke, arms wrapping around Hunter’s front and knotting together underneath his pecs, your tone turns serious, “Any chance you'll let me in on why you're standing here basically naked and glaring at yourself?”
Hunter’s eyes narrowed in on the way his stomach jiggled at the movement and he nervously chews the inside of his lip. It takes him a few beats before taking a deep breath and quietly asks, “Are you attracted to me? Like physically?…sexually?”
You suppress a sigh, not wanting him to take it the wrong way, and you bring one hand to settle over his stomach, letting your thumb rub small reassuring circles around his navel. There are a thousand different words you could use to describe your husband's body and none of them are negative, and even if you spoke them all you’re not sure Hunter would truly understand how gorgeous he is to you. No, he’s more the type to use touch instead of words. He’d worship your body with his lips, kissing each imperfection you believe you have. That’s how you’ll approach this. You’ll show as much as you’ll tell.
“I’m a leader, I’m supposed to be strong,” Hunter goes on before you can speak, gesturing to his body, “Not…. not flabby.”
“A leader isn’t about having washboard abs, Hunter. Which by the way, you still have,” You trail your fingers deftly over his abs, his muscles flexing under your fingertips, “You’re body is changing, that's not a bad thing, my love. You spent so long surviving on ration packs and now you’re eating healthy.”
Your fingers trail down to the band of his briefs, silently asking permission. He gives you it without hesitation but his nose does scrunch up, brow drawing together, “I can’t see you.”
You press a kiss to his shoulder, smiling softly into the flesh of it as you say, “It’s not about me.”
“I’d still prefer to see you.”
“Next time.” You promise and he nods almost absentmindedly.
You hook your fingers under the waistband and pull them down over his ass, watching in the mirror as his cock springs free; hard, wet, and needy. Your mouth waters at the sight. Tossing away the briefs you pull him in closer, his cock twitching as you ravish his neck. Kissing and sucking, leaving wet trails and slowly forming bruises in his wake.
"I'm going to slide my hand down lower and jerk you off as I tell you how kriffing hot you are. How incredibly good it feels when we're cuddling, the softness of your body pressed against me. The way your skin moulds against mine as you fuck me into the matress. How just staring at your body alone makes my pussy wet."
"Kriff.” Hunter gasps, desperate for your touch.
You chuckle against his neck, licking at the goosebumps that formed at the puff of your warm breath. You slowly, teasingly, bring one hand down lower but not low enough to touch his throbbing erection, earning a needy whine from him.
“Sometimes when I can’t sleep and your out with your brothers I play with myself, fuck my pussy with my fingers as I imagine your body drapped over mine.”
“Mesh’la, please, I need you to touch me.” Hunter begs through a moan, cock leaking pre-cum down his length.
You hum at the sight, your own sex throbbing against your panites but you paid no attention to it.
“I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. You'd understand how desperate I am to kiss you, to touch you. This weight, this newfound softness has me instantly wet. And not in some kinky way but because it's you. It's you Hunter, that's what I'm attracted to, in every form.”
You finally move your hand to lightly trace the length of his cock earning a loud moan from the man. You wrap your fingers around the thick girth of it and squeeze the base. His mouth parts at the sensation. You let out your own gasp of pleasure when Hunter falls forward ever so slightly, hands reaching out to grab the sides of the mirror to steady himself and his upper back brushes against your hardened nipples, the material of your shirt catching them in the right way.
Now in this new position you can see Hunter’s reflection in the mirror, your smaller frame just peeking over his shoulder but it’s enough for him to moan at the lust that has filled your eyes, swallowing your pupils.
“Hunter,” You breathe, gently grabbing at his waist, cupping the extra weight in your palm that’s not working his cock, “I want you to keep your eyes on the mirror, I want you to see the way you fall apart under my touch. How kriffing sexy you look.”
He gives a half nod, hips buckling when you begin to pick up the pace, praises whispered in his ear. It's a little dry, no lube to help guide his cock through your fist, but there’s enough pre-cum spilling from his cock that Hunter’s not telling you to stop.
His eyes leave your lust and loving gaze to settle on his own body. You know he’s taking in how wrecked he looks. How bright the red marks you’ve left across his neck and shoulder are, his cock twitching with each stroke, head all red and shiny. There's pre-cum everywhere now. On his thighs, stomach, all over your hand and even a surprising amount on the mirror.
Hunter can't see much of his stomach, your arm wrapped around it to hold him firmly against your body, balancing him as he gets lost in the pleasure you bring him. He's begging for you to go faster and you obey, working his cock with swift and practised movements, knowing exactly what he needs.
But it’s not enough and Hunter’s eyes watch in fascination as he starts fucking into your fist. His entire body is on fire and it's all too much. He barely manages out a warning before his whole body spasms, hot ropes of white cum painting the mirror and your hand.
Hunter curses, hips helplessly jerking forward, cock weeping as another string of cum shoots out and drips onto the bedroom floor.
“In case there's a chance you didn't clue in,” You kiss his neck softly, helping him straighten up as his legs shake underneath him, “I'm continuously turned on by you.”
Hunter gives a breathy laugh, twisting in your hold to kiss you, his fingers lazily falling to your pants. You tisk and gently smack his hand away. He growls, not happy with the action. You press your lips to his, shushing him, “This is about you, my love.”
He huffs, a rumbling of his stomach following and he blushes, “You said something about food?”
You smack his ass, eyes rolling as you tell him, “Go clean up, love. I’ll get the food ready.”
He makes his way to the washroom, you grab the food and call out before leaving the room: “And bring the lube down for dessert.”
There’s a crashing sound from within the bathroom, a curse and you have a feeling he’ll be bringing down the meiloorun melon flavour lube you bought for shit and giggles last week.

Saw another “why would Tech even be interested in Phee” take out in the wild, so here’s a partial list of Phee’s many attractive qualities, because the double standard of every other character vs Phee is exhausting:
(Quick disclaimer—this isn’t me saying anyone has to like the ship. You don’t. It’s fine. Don’t ship things you don’t want to ship. Dislike the way it’s been written in the show if you want. Ship these two with other people or with no one if you want. I don’t care. This is just me being tired of people being weird about Phee):
1. She’s smart. She can improv her way through dealing with death traps and she’s got an area (areas) of expertise that Tech knows relatively little about. That makes her interesting. Also hot.
2. She’s gorgeous. Look at her. She’s ridiculously pretty.
3. She’s a great storyteller. Yeah, she changes her stories every time, but that’s at least part of why Tech is paying attention, because he notices that.
4. She’s a stone cold badass. And she’s a FUN stone cold badass. Disarmingly charming stone cold badass.
5. She’s a remarkably good person. She steals artifacts so that refugees can hang on to a bit of their culture in diaspora. This seems to be what pushes Tech from, “Oh, she’s interesting,” to, “OH. SHE’S BRILLIANT AND I MIGHT BE IN LOVE.”
6. She’s not nice, but she is kind, and that’s honestly a quality that she and Tech share. Phee isn’t soft, she’s not going to talk in therapy speak, she’ll push a little hard sometimes, but gosh darnit if she isn’t the person who would always stop to help someone with a flat tire (or respond to finding out some friends are broke, jobless, and on the run by immediately taking them back to her secret refuge so they can rest and recoup).
7. She’s incredibly direct and unafraid to speak her mind and…okay. This is going to get long. And I know some people will disagree with this, and that’s fine because everyone is different, and wants different things. But. Speaking personally from my point of view. The fact that Phee gives as good as she gets would be a really reassuring quality to have in a partner. I see a lot of myself reflected in Tech, but one of the many, many ways in which we’re very different is that I’m a consummate people pleaser, and Tech is very much not. At all. I don’t think he has a people-pleasing bone in his body.
But, here’s the thing—about half of my people pleasing comes from being terrified that I’ll say or do something that inadvertently hurts someone, and that person won’t just tell me or give me the chance to explain or make things right. And for how that relates to dating, I had people—friends and family—keep trying to set me up with incredibly shy men through most of my early twenties, no matter how many times I objected, because they had this perception that I was soft, wishy-washy, and needed to be treated with kid gloves. And…no. I’m opinionated as hell. I’m relatively confident about certain things. I just shut down my ability to project any of that because I was terrified of running roughshod over people without meaning to. But when I’m around someone who I know is willing to disagree with me, who I know will explain why, and who I know will push back if I take something too far? About 90% percent of my people pleasing and social anxiety evaporates. I know I don’t have to walk on eggshells around them—and that they aren’t going to walk on eggshells around me, either. They’re going to be direct about their issues and treat me like a freaking adult.
And, honestly, the fact that Phee doesn’t walk on eggshells around Tech (who also gives as good as he gets—Tech isn’t soft, nice, or shy and retiring; he’s confident as hell and he should be, because hot damn)—is. I don’t know. I like that she’s direct, and that she will recognize and pull back if she’s gone too far. This is projecting a bit, but, speaking personally, I would rather be with someone who treats me like an adult and tells me what’s up even if it’s uncomfortable than someone who never, ever tells me when they’re upset because they’re afraid of hurting my feelings and just lets me stew in social confusion all the time.
8. She can more than hold her own in a fight and she carries a sword around. That’s hot, I’m sorry.
9. Phee’s fantastic with Omega. She talks to her like she’s a person, she doesn’t ever shut Omega down, she’ll tell her stories, she’ll joke around with her, and she’s generally very respectful while also not holding her to the same standard she would if Omega were an adult. She’s even a little protective of Omega, even though Omega isn’t at all her responsibility. I think the moment that took Phee from ‘cool’ to ‘fantastic’ for me was towards the end of ‘Entombed’ while the Deadly Giraffe of Death was collapsing; Phee’s right there trying to shield Omega alongside Hunter. And. Like. Omega is Tech’s baby sister, he’s probably going to notice that how Phee treats her. Massive points in her favor for this.

More Omega Appreciation
It's no surprise that I love Omega, I make that pretty apparent. After all, she's my sweet bean, my little sunshine. I adore everything about her. In fact, I'd put her in my top 10 fave characters because of the impact she's had on me. But what makes her so endearing?
To me, it's her hope and compassion for others. Omega is full of life and wonder. Every situation she's thrown into, Omega takes with full stride. I remember falling in love with her in the first few episodes of season 1 when she goes to Saleucami. I think most of us want to go back and relive childhood where everything new was exciting and magical. And while she's certainly matured over the course of this series, there's still so much wonder in her. We can call it filler, but don't deny how adorable Omega is when Phee tells her stories. The way Omega lights up around others and new situations is adorable and makes her incredibly likable.
I'll go back to my point about her hope and compassion. Omega truly sees the beauty and strength in others, no matter who they are. Where Hunter is always distrustful of Cid (and rightly so), Omega still tries to help her. Yes, Omega is child and she is naive, but I still find her traits endearing. With Batcher, she believes in the hound's strengths to survive even with Hemlock trying to tell her otherwise.
But the most important character that Omega's kindness touches in my opinion is Crosshair. She never gives up on him even though she could. All throughout her imprisonment on Tantiss, Omega keeps her hope alive. Not a day goes by that she doesn't look for a way out. Crosshair, however, has given up. Everything that's happened to him has broke his spirit. But then Omega shows up and the fight is put back into him. Throughout the entire show, Omega continues to believe in the goodness that Crosshair has within him. She's always the one to reach out to him. I love that about her. I feel that we need more people like her in the world. It's so easy to not care about something or dismiss someone who might have differing opinion. But Omega teaches us that a little kindness and persistence can go a long way. I honestly do see so much of myself in her as a result.
I don't get personal on here, but I'll just say that there are times in my life where I've been put in Crosshair's position. I've felt trapped in my own Tantiss. Yet, there was always an Omega in my life trying to help. Omega, to me, represents the pure love and hope that people, especially family, can have for each other. No matter how dark things get, she keeps fighting and hoping. She never gives up on her family.
She is the emotional core of "The Bad Batch." It's through Omega that the Batch begin to see life in a different lens. They realize that they don't have to be soldiers. They begin to grow in different ways. Tech and Crosshair become more emotionally vulnerable around her. Hunter and Echo become more paternal. And Wrecker gets to let out his inner child more around her. She shows them new ways to love and care for one another.
I hope sweet bean never loses her endearing traits by the end of show. Sure, she will have gained more life experience, but that light she carries better stay alive. It's so important. It's one of her best features and it leaves an impact on those around her. The Batch are lucky to have Omega in their lives. Guys, if you have an Omega figure, someone who's filled with love and joy and always supports you, give them an extra tight hug.
I'll get off my soap box now, but she is truly one of the best Star Wars characters to come out in recent years.

Why I Love Tech and Phee
I keep thinking about these two today and it just leads to me smiling uncontrollably (I'm literally grinning while I write this XD) so I'm just gonna talk about why these two work for me!
I'm usually not one to be on board with romances in shows that I find unnecessary. If anything, they can actually put me off if they get in the way of good storytelling. When I first saw Phee flirting with Tech back in episode 1, I found it amusing, but I was a little hesitant as to what they were going to do with it. It was fun in the moment, but I wasn't sure that I wanted it to go anywhere. Saying that, I kept an open mind because I didn't want to spend every episode where they appeared together feeling slightly angry about this thing I didn't want being there. And, hey! Maybe I'd even enjoy it!
Turns out I would. And there's a few reasons for this.
It isn't getting in the way of the plot
If this romance was starting to mess with the core story, then yeah, I wouldn't be that okay with it. However, it still feels very much like a thing in the background. It's there, it's noticeable, but it isn't getting in the way of anything and I appreciate that. As long as it stays that way, I have a good chance of staying in support of this.
It doesn't feel rushed
I hate love at first sight. I think it might be one of my least favourite tropes and while some people love it, I really struggle to get on board with it (minus the odd exception). When it comes to romantic connections between characters, I want to see it form. I want to see the journey that they go on. I don't want something where they meet and 5 minutes later they claim to be the love of each other's lives (not to say you can't enjoy this btw. It's just really not for me). But this isn't that!
I've seen some people saying that they're moving too quickly with it, but I really don't think that's the case. Sure, there are definitely flirtatious moments, but they're pretty subdued. A few looks, a couple of small touches here and there, but nothing extreme. I know everyone has their own idea as to what qualifies as moving too quickly, but from some of the reactions I've seen, you'd think they'd be getting married in next episode. It's not like that! I actually like the pacing of this connection. It's a little tentative, just some indications that there's interest there and they're taking it at their own pace.
I really like Phee!
When we were first introduced to Phee, I liked her as a cool, sassy pirate, but I didn't really trust her (in the same way that I love but don't trust Hondo Ohnaka). The initial "brown eyes" comment was funny, but I didn't want her getting too close to Tech if she was someone to be worried about. We all love Tech, so of course we're all gonna be a little protective over him. We just don't want him getting hurt.
And then episode 5 happened and I still didn't trust her. I loved that she was acting like a role model for Omega and she was giving the kid a chance to spend some time with someone other than the Batch, but I still didn't trust her. It felt like she was still trying to use them for her own advantage and I didn't like that.
But then we come to episode 13 and that distrust has definitely faded. She wasn't trying to get artefacts for herself, she was trying to take them back to people who would appreciate and connect to them. She was also willing to take the squad to a safe place away from Cid, a place where Omega could spend time with kids her own age. It wasn't for her own benefit. She actually did it for them.
I love Phee for this. She's shown that she isn't who we thought she was. She's better and I think Tech is noticing that as well.
It isn't ruining Tech as a character
One of my worries with Tech having a love interest was that I wasn't sure if they would make it feel out of character for him. If Tech had been really flirtatious back, then it would've just felt wrong. Instead, they are willing to show that he's a little nervous about the whole thing. He doesn't really know what his feelings are or what they mean and so he's a bit tentative. When she calls him Brown Eyes early on in the ep, he looks thrown off for a second because he isn't used to the nickname. He also glances at her hand when she places it on his shoulder because he doesn't know how to feel about the whole thing. It's unexpected. Even when he listens to her and looks at the lights, he isn't quite sure how to process that situation but he's a little more open about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me it seems perfectly in keeping with his character; a little hesitant, a little unsure, confused about what he's feeling, shy, bashful. It makes sense for him and it's ADORABLE!
They work well together
What I absolutely love about this dynamic is that Phee is getting Tech to open up a bit and appreciate the world in a slightly less analytical way, but she isn't trying to change him. She does actually find his personality endearing and she just wants him to loosen up a bit, start feeling more comfortable with the world.
And what's even better is that it's working! Yes, Tech is still nervous and unsure, but he does actually start to acknowledge that there might be something there. That moment at the end of the episode where he says that he had thought about the Batch staying and Phee responds with "did you now?". It's a little bit of teasing from her but he doesn't get flustered or stunned, he just SMILES AT HER! And it's a cute, wholesome, genuinely comfortable smile and omg I actually love this moment so much, it's so cute aaaaaahhhhh!!!
Tumblr media
It's Tech that has the love interest
I don't just appreciate this relationship because of the way it's been handled, but also the fact that this is the character they've chosen to give this part of the story to. So many showrunners would give the love interest to the charming, dark, broody, "conventionally attractive" man (aka Hunter) but no! They actually let this play out with Tech, an autistically-coded nerd with a stupid-ass looking hairline (sorry) and we don't get enough of that! I know some people headcanon him as aroace and I don't want to discredit that, but I also love how we're showing that yes, awkward, nerdy charm is something that people appreciate!
Wrecker ships it
I don't have much to say here. Wrecker teasing his brother is just so cute and I love it!!!
Ending Thoughts
So yeah, that's how I feel about this. I was sceptical at first but this episode made me fall in love with this pairing. It's wholesome and cute and I love this for Tech. He deserves it! Having a relationship between a badass WOC and a neurodivergent character is something that I'm happy we're getting. That's not to say that the show doesn't have its issues, but this is just so great to see.
I know that not everyone is on board with this and I'm not going to discredit those opinions. Everyone's going to disagree on things and that's fine. I totally understand some of the qualms that people have about this ship and I support the existence of those criticisms!
(However, if anyone hates it so much that they are willing to turn to racist, ableist or sexist remarks about it then I kindly ask you to leave this page alone because I don't want that kind of bigotry.)
I'm excited to see where they go with the Tech/Phee pairing because it's really cute. I hope that they don't let it bleed into the main story too much though because I don't want it to start become detrimental to the plot.
Anyway, this is a pro-Tee account and I'm very happy to just gush about them because happy Tech makes me smile so much! 😁

LOOK AT THIS 😭
Edit: gonna tag @phis-writing because I know she's also been loving Tee. 🥰

Getting my finale predictions in before it airs.
Things I'm reasonably sure will happen:
Zillo Beast attack (obviously)
Emerie redemptive death (I don't want this to happen but I feel like she's got a lot to make up for and not much time)
I still don't think we're getting main character deaths, for a variety of factors (a big one being that Omega is worried about getting people killed and so more of her family dying to save her from a situation she put herself in would just validate that)
Continuation of that, Omega will demonstrate her character growth and play a big role in saving one of the batch, probably through some last minute connection with the force
Still think Tech is CX-2 we spent too much time on him this season for him to be irrelevant and no one else will have equal impact on the whole batch, especially Omega. Bringing him back will finally unite the batch and through that get them to a point where they can finally win something. This also pulls together the theme we've touched on this season that people can change no matter how far gone.
Things I just suspect/want:
Crosshair knows Tech is CX-2 and that's what he's been so cagey about. We know about the torture on Tantiss, we know they tried to turn him into a CX, but he still feels like he's holding something big back.
Couple other theories on CX-Tech: has all his limbs but his eyes are cybernetic having been damaged by his goggles, Phee brings back the line "better late than dead" because it feels like one just written to be a callback
Hemlock will survive the batch but all his research will be destroyed so he actually ends up killed by Palpatine for failing him in one last creepy appearance
Rampart betrays the batch and gets one last amazing scream in when the Zillo beast eats him. (Alternate possibility: he survives but is trapped alone on Wayland. In the distance we hear the Beasts. Maybe the Empire will bother to rescue him in 30 rotations. But probably not.)
The Commandos feel abnormally loyal to Hemlock so I'm curious if they're still chipped in some way - if they are, then maybe if they're unchipped they could start reforming Rex's resistance cell?
The batch helps to establish the path with the first people helped by it being our four force sensitive kids, which let's them leave soldiering behind while still actively resisting the Empire
Omega is given the choice to train in the force but actively decides that she would rather stay with her family, giving her a smaller and quieter future but one very in line with her character.
My biggest reason for having a pretty hopeful outlook is that a story needs both high and low points - we've definitely had MAJOR low points, especially in both the previous finales, but we've never really had a big win. Just little ones, small successes along the way but never anything that compares to the losses. If we get another big loss then the story stays flat, nothing ever Peaks and every single season ends on the same tone of loss. Three seasons of slogging towards a sad ending is a hell of a hard sell, especially since it doesn't really show Omega's growth.
She lost Kamino and Crosshair (again) in Return to Kamino. AZI sacrificed himself for her and only survived at all because someone else stepped in. She lost Tech in Plan 99, sacrificing himself for her again and she can't do anything about it.
So season three, do we really need to see her lose again? This time actively because of a choice she made? Does that show us anything about her growth? Or would her being Key to successfully not only getting everyone out alive (remember they're only there right now because of her) but in being able to bring Tech home and, for the first time all series, make their family whole?
This season has been sad, but it's also been about healing the scars of past seasons. Just look at Crosshair's arc. And CX-Tech brings us up to the biggest scar, the one that we've made no progress on healing, the one thing keeping them from being complete. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but there's simply too much pointing to it for me to think anything else.

TBB S3 E12 Reaction
Alright, this was the last episode that was truly represented in the trailer. I can’t wait to see Hunter kick some Juggernaut butt (why does that sound so bad lol)
- Hemlock wipe that damn smirk off your face
- Again with the shoulder shoves dude
- No why is CX-2 just walking away? We need to follow him and find out who he is!! *low-key screaming in frustration* lol
- I love how Hemlock is so arrogantly confident and uncaring that he comes across as almost respectful in how he takes the time to explain things to other people
- Come on Emerie, you’ve come so far! Don’t keep playing into Hemlock’s hand! You know Omega isn’t safe here and neither are you
- Lol he’s too busy to even wait for the test results. Bitch
- I do wish they had given us Crosshair telling Hunter and Wrecker about Omega. BUT I was very much correct that Hunter would not waste time being angry
- Every time Crosshair says something more about Tantiss it just keeps getting worse and worse 🥺🥺 don’t make that man go back there! Dee’s vocal inflections and the way he talks about Nala Se and Tipoca City is so regretful
- The trust and vulnerability he’s willing to show though with his hand shaking and admitting he doesn’t want to go back he’s so traumatized 😭💔
- No WAY they are bringing back Admiral Rampart! Kudos to those who called that one
- PHEEEE and AZZZZ
- Cross goes from pointing his rifle in Phee’s face to straight up telling her they’re taking her ship 🤣
- Okay, it finally happened. I finally teared up. Phee and Crosshair immediately sass each other, then she drops the fact that she and Tech were close and talked a lot and he TOLD HER ABOUT CROSSHAIR (and in a good light) and we got a BROWN EYES 👁️ 👄 👁️. I was in a puddle on the floor 🥹🥹🥹
- The way she treats all of them like family and helps them and puts her life on the line for them. It is just so satisfying to see her relationship with the Batch continue to develop like this. Truly family to all of them.
- More Andor vibes with this labor camp
- Of course Rampart is still a dramatic bitchy asshole. Prison hasn’t changed him AT ALL (except for the beard. Sorry guys but I’m just not seeing it 😆)
- Aw Wrecker giving Mel a little pat. He’s so sweet
- “Oh relax. I expect you to know a stealth approach when you see one” 🤩🤩 TECH you need to come back and marry this woman RIGHT FREAKING NOW
- Gosh they were so made for each other 😭
- That entire maneuver was insane and incredible
- Hunter’s helmet float 😄 at least one of them was having fun
- As others have pointed out I also really appreciate that they animated Phee with so much aging and tiredness and lines and wrinkles showing on her face. She’s a real woman who’s seen and done a lot of things and she’s incredibly gorgeous and badass and caring and intelligent and she doesn’t need perfect skin or a youthful glow to be completely amazing
- When are we getting the “day in the life of a storm trooper” workplace comedy? I need it Star Wars!
- It’s so good to see the boys working together like this
- The textures and lighting in this episode are just so real looking
- Wow Wrecker really just sucker punched that guy
- And he actually remembers plan 55 😁 so proud of him
- The music when they saunter in 😂 and we got a “how touching” too?!
- Rampart’s face is in the dictionary next to the word offended
- “Hunter, they’re sealing off the bridge!” Hunter: drives faster
- And he was giving Phee a hard time for her flying?? Boy is approaching Evel Knievel levels!!
- I need to see Hunter in a dirt bike rally now 😧
- Pretty sure Hunter is firmly in his Joel Miller Era. He does not care what he has to do or who he has to kill at this point
- “Not exactly a stealth exit boys” such a great line
- “We’re all in this together” sure Rampart sure let’s see how chipper you are about that next episode
- Emerie and Omega’s glances at each other 🥺
- “This is your new home” yeahhh I don’t think so

Thoughts on The Bad Batch Episode 6 - Infiltration - A Discussion Post
This week's two episodes really took us through another rollercoaster. Let's look back on all the details that got us excited!
(SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODES YET! all screencaps from cap-that.com! https://www.cap-that.com/starwars/the-bad-batch/306/)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex makes his return by delivering Senator Avi Singh and his droid GS-8 to Senator Riyo Chuchi on Pantora, who continues to recruit people for fighting against the Empire. I was surprised to see Senator Singh again; every episode that's happened in the series really had a good purpose for the story.
Howzer also appeared, and I'm so happy he's back!
Tumblr media
One of the Clone X troopers had appeared, sneaking around and attempting to attack the senators. Rex and the others try to attack the trooper, and Howzer manages to stun him. The trooper ends up being another unidentified clone, and the boys take him into custody.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We arrive at the monastery on Teth, which had first appeared in the Clone Wars movie. Rex and the other clones have built themselves a base here, where they are safe and far away from the Empire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex and Howzer go to see the CX trooper they took into custody, as they had the shocker removed from their teeth, learning from the scenario that happened last season. Rex tries to reason with the trooper, who refuses to talk.
Fireball had looked through the device that they found with the CX trooper, and Omega was shown on that device. Rex decides to contact Echo and Hunter, calling them here to talk to them about the situation. Everyone's after the poor girl, and none of the clones are able to catch a break.
Tumblr media
The CX trooper that we've all got our eyes glued to appears once again on-screen, asking "Why have I been activated?" We finally get to hear this trooper talk, and his voice is very hidden by the helmet. He is given a mission to track down the CX trooper that went missing, and we go on to pay close attention to him throughout the episodes. When I tell you my heart was racing every time he appeared on screen, I was really trying to think hard and connect the dots. I'm a Tech believer, but with the new theories emerging on this trooper potentially being other clones as well, every theory is so intriguing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While on the way to Rex's base, Omega copying Crosshair was the cutest thing ever. She went from copying Hunter in Season 1, copying Phee in Season 2, and now this in Season 3. (Hunter's definitely having flashbacks.) Girl's growing up too fast for me 😭
Tumblr media
Can we just take a second and look at Wrecker's smile here? It was so heartwarming to see him smile like this while he was petting Batcher. He's so cute.
Tumblr media
The crew arrives, and Howzer keeps his eyes locked on Crosshair. The little nod Rex and Omega shared was so adorable. Howzer speaks up to talk to Crosshair, who stays silent. He reminds him of Ryloth and what happened, and he has good reason to be upset.
Not gonna lie, I was expecting Rex to look at Batcher and be like when did y'all get a dog 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before leaving to go pick up Gregor (wherever he is), Echo gives Omega a new crossbow, replacing the Zygerrian crossbow she used to have before being taken to Tantiss. I still wonder what happened to that weapon, it was just completely lost. Omega loves her new gift and thanks Echo, and I can't wait to see her use it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex and Howzer show Hunter and Crosshair the information they got so far from the device they obtained from the CX trooper they have, and Crosshair starts to open up about what he went through on Tantiss, talking about Hemlock's conditioning. Howzer continues to suspect anything Crosshair says, and Hunter gets protective for his brother. The boys decide to ask Omega about why they wanted her on Tantiss, and she says that it was so Nala Se could work for them.
I feel like I could tell that Omega does not want to talk about anything she went through on Tantiss and whatever she experienced. She looks so hurt at times ever since she became reunited with her family, and she wasn't even eating in this episode. She always keeps giving Batcher her food. Omega mentions "M-count", which Rex has heard of before, but doesn't know what it means. I wonder when they'll learn what it means and how they'll try to figure out why Omega is needed for this.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the CX trooper sent from Tantiss had arrived on Teth and located the clones' base, and had snuck in without ANYONE noticing. Batcher's senses felt something was around, but she shrugged it off and continued eating. Not even Hunter's enhanced senses had felt something was around. I felt like maybe these troopers were designed to avoid those kinds of things, and maybe Hemlock learned about Hunter's abilities and attempted to avoid them.
Anyway, he looks around and spots Omega, immediately running out and contacting someone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Crosshair found out they have one of the CX troopers in custody, he goes with Rex, Howzer, and Hunter to see him. The second he lays eyes on the trooper, there is genuine fear in his eyes. What did he go through on Tantiss?
The CX trooper recognizes Crosshair and begins to talk, and knows the Empire is coming for them. Crosshair insists they leave, while the others keep wanting information, and Howzer gets more suspicious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right outside, the bombs CX-2 planted around the base are set off, triggering multiple explosions. He re-enters the base, firing shots, as everyone hurries to protect the base. The trooper manages to shoot the CX trooper they have in custody, making them unable to get further information. The fight continues until the base is wrecked, causing the CX trooper to be crushed under rubble, and the others get locked in the place they kept the trooper in custody after the rubble blocks their way out.
RIP to Fireball 😭
Tumblr media
Wolffe finally makes his appearance! He continues to be a soldier of the Empire, but he definitely is no longer under the influence of the chip. The episode ends here, and I was screaming the entire time Wolffe appeared. Someone go summon the force ghost of Plo Koon so he can knock some sense into his son.
This episode was full of context, but there's still so much mystery behind everything. The next episode was full of even more action, and I had my eyes glued to the screen.

I just. The theme of guilt. In Hunter. And Wrecker. And Crosshair. These three specifically.
Hunter is the one who calls the final shot. Makes the final decision. It's his word.
He had to make them leave Crosshair on Kamino. He had to make them work for Cid on dangerous mission after dangerous mission. He had to make Tech leave him behind. He had to choose not to trust Crosshair. He had to choose to let them sit in watertight chambers they didn't know would work. He had to make them leave Crosshair again. Hunter picks and chooses everything. He has to make the calls. He has to pull through. He has to prioritise.
He helped Tech get on top the rail cart.
Do you ever wonder how many times these decisions play through his head? The amount of sleepless nights, tossing and turning, thinking over and over about what he could have changed? Could have fixed? He could have saved Crosshair from the beginning, he could have avoided Cid. He could have found Phee and Pabu another way, he could have stayed with Rex. Things didn't need to happen the way they did.
Tech didn't have to die. Crosshair didn't have to be stuck with Hemlock.
These are the things Hunter mulls over, countless nights, days, hours, spent thinking of what could he have done different? He'll never be able to go back. He'll never be able to change.
He barely got to teach Omega anything. She, full of life, full of joy and wonder, lost to monsters Hunter was supposed to protect her from. And in the end, Omega was lost trying to protect him.
Him, who could hardly keep his brothers from falling other the edge. Literally and figuratively.
Hunter's lost everything. And he can only blame himself.
And Wrecker, sweet Wrecker. Wrecker who fought through the chips control for days. Who struggled and choked back every little instinct until it was physically impossible. Who, while holding his brother in a death grip, fought with everything he had not to kill him. It would have been so simple for him. Wrecker thinks about just how simple far too much for his liking.
Wrecker thinks about how easily he went through them. How easy it was to knock them down and beat them. Wrecker could have ended the entire squad, and no one would've ever known. Wrecker didn't even need his second hand. He thinks about that constantly.
He thinks about how hard everyone else seems to have it. How stressed Hunter is, how angry Echo became, how Tech always put himself into trouble. How Omega had begun to notice the troubles of the galaxy, and the struggle she would always have. Wrecker couldn't protect them, not from that. He tried, truly he did.
Everything from physically to mentally. Watching their backs to comforting them. Shouldering weight when he could, anything to ease the stress, to quell the pain. His strength stretched thin wasn't enough. Crosshair never came back. Echo left to fight without him. Hunter let them leave Pabu. Tech fell.
Wreckers fear had always stemmed from falling. He never imagined he'd fail to catch any of his brothers. He couldn't do anything but watch, shouldered to the side again. His strength wasn't enough again. Wrecker doesn't know what he is if not his strength.
It kills him, not knowing. Being so useless when he's meant to be in his element.
I guarantee he regrets not listening more. Not paying enough attention. Not realising just how much he'd miss it. The silence gives him time to simmer. Wrecker misses the days he didn't know that would happen.
Oh, Crosshair. I have not forgotten him.
Crosshair has watched himself hurt his brothers for maybe months. He's watched himself hunt his brothers like they were animals. All he wanted was for them to be together again. He had no idea the price was so large.
He can't separate himself from the chip. He can't separate himself from the clone that shot his brother in the arm. From the clone that almost incinerated his brothers with an ion engine. With the clone that, despite wanting to be whole, couldn't bring himself to bend his own twisted morality for them. His brothers. Who he had convinced himself he'd done all this for. He spilt this blood for them.
Why couldn't he care for them normally? Crosshair questions that every day.
Why could he care more for a reg than his own brothers? They left because he didn't want to go with them. His loyalty drove them away. And it was that loyalty that drew them back in. Drew his brother to his death. Drew Omega to the last place Crosshair wanted her to be.
He tried to make up for it, and now everything's worse than before. To Crosshair, he's once again brought about an end to their lives. He's tainted, ripped apart another part of them.
Crosshair is the reason they had to run. They could have pretended. Crosshair wouldn't have given them up. Ever. Yet his selfishness, his own personal vendettas pushed them away. Crosshair hasn't even thought to blame the system they tried to save him from.
Now, he's living with the consequences of his attempts at saving their lives. They'll never know how hard he fought for them, all they'll ever know is what happened because of it. What happened because of brotherly devotion.
Crosshair won't be able to fathom that Tech was a result of shared adoration. He'll only see it as another failure on his part. As everything he's ever done has been.
I just- guilt and the bad batch. The way its woven into their souls. It hurts me so much.

Last one and I'll stop bothering you, but here's the big outline of my interpretation :
An endless loop
The boys are stuck in a loop ; as Phee said at the end, even he, Jin and Tee had never left the house. I don't think they're dead. I just think them being dead or alive doesn't matter, because they will all circle back to the house in the woods anyway, and the loop will start again from the beginning of ep 1. Much the same as Phee didn't remember how they got out, they won't remember how they got back in. They won't remember much, actually. Events will replay the same way they had last time -and the time before, and all those beforehand for all we know. A neverending recreation of Non's first and only movie. But I think there's more.
If they die like Por, Top, Fluke, White and New, they're brought back to the loop anyway. Death isn't a get out of jail card. If they get away like Phee, Jin and Tee, they get brought back as well -but I think they keep a vague memory of the slaughter on a subconscious level. Not the flashbacks kind ; rather that feeling etched in your bones, something you don't even notice that still guides your moves and thoughts.
The masked figures
Time travel usually tends to get tricky since the very principle of a loop is that things already happened while they're happening, the masked figures would be the boys' own 'ghosts', or previous selves if you'd like. I made a post about it here, and another here about which masked figure would represent each character.
Tee's memories
Tee freaks out and refuses to consider any option other than the ghost of Non being out to get them. He feels guilty, sure, but he still seems to overreact compared with his usual behavior. Not that I had noticed much since we barely knew him at the time. Tee knows. He does't know that he knows, but he knows anyway. And he'll get rid of the ghost haunting him and protect White this time.
Just kidding. He failed again.
Phee's memories
Unlike the others, Phee breaks out of the nightmare by his own means. He doesn't cave in like Fluke, Top or even Tee ; he doesn't need saving like Jin. Phee escapes by convincing himself what he sees is entirely an hallucination, a certainty that allows him to figuratively let Non die and keep the ghost at bay (more about it here).
A ghost that can't appear if you're not scared ; if you don't believe in it at all ; if your mind isn't plagued by fear and clouded by drugs. Phee abandons Non again to save Jin and Tee, but forcing your way out isn't going to be enough to beat Non's curse. His mind being the clearest, he'd retain bits and pieces that would help him navigate the scene, as I mentioned in one of the linked posts. One of those memories would be that Non doesn't haunt them, it's all manmade. Second would be little things that allow him to make impeccable guesswork.
Phee being Phee, he probably tries his best to save as many people as he can every time. But hey, he failed again. And he loses even when he wins.
The drugs and the ghost
When I said paranormal and factual dimensions were intertwined, I mean you can't cut a clear distinction bewteen the two. It overlaps. Some events are both paranormal and material at the same time ; I think that's what happens with the hallucinations the boys get. It is due to the drugs, yet at the same time it is Non. I felt like the more you see him with a mask on, the less it's him and the more of a drug induced hallucination it is.
Those who truly see him are the ones Non feels the most strongly about. Tee, who tried his best but also sentenced him to death. Phee, who abandoned him when he needed him most. Jin is still a mystery but I'm working on it. And New, of course.
New was never cursed ; he is part of the curse
New who doesn't see his worst fear come true, but gets comforting words instead, even after breathing the gas. New who is yet stuck in this nightmarish loop like the rest of them in spite of being forgiven by the end of it.
As I stated here, he serves as an ally for Non. He's the one who makes everything possible. Non holds his hand with the red string of fate on. New will forever carry out his brother's revenge, over and over and again. I don't think it's such a bad fate for him. He has the time of his life anytime he takes one of them down after all.
Could they break free ?
Ultimately ? I wanna say no. I like it better that way. Non won't forgive them. But if you told me 'hey, let's make a season 2, those fuckers need to find a way out', well...
A classic would be that they need to all survive. Or that's at least something they could try (and by 'they' I mean Phee, he's the obvious hero). Keep Por from impaling himself on a branch, or keep Top from killing him. Find ways around New's plan. Get everyone to calm their tits when actual ghosts haunt their hallucinations. Good luck with that.
Another classic would be to get them to accept and face what they did to Non. No more 'I'm sorry's, no more 'it wasn't me'. Man up. Face your fear. Look the ghost dead in the eyes and take it all in. Tee especially would need to get a lot of work done before he inhales the fumes, and more again when he faces Non. He did kill him. Trying to repair his mistake doesn't change shit to that. He has to stab him or he'll stab White.
Phee would need to accept that it is indeed Non he's facing. He needs to accept that he let him die and that Non hated him for it. Phee desperately wants to be a good man, true to his word, strong and reliable. He wasn't any of this to Non. His final reaction is the right one ; he had to let Non die in that bathtub. He had to let him jump off the roof. But he has to do so acknowledging that it's Non.
And if they all do this, Non doesn't have power on them anymore. His vengeance becomes empty. Only New remains as a threat, robbed from his main weapon. The whole thing becomes meaningless and falls apart. I hate it because Non and New deserve their killing spree, but somehow I don't think a second season would go that route...

It was a Sunday and in the Styles household, Sundays were chill and lazy days.
Whether it was watching movies, napping, playing, or even having Anne over for the evening. It was always a fun day.
Yesterday Harry and Ophelia did their weekly food shopping and while Phee was napping Harry finished up some chores he wasn’t able to do throughout the week.
The house was spotless when Harry woke up. He learned from his mum that having your house clean is a great start to the week.
He quietly got up and ready for the day opting for some comfy joggers and a plain shirt. He made his way downstairs for some coffee after he checked and saw Phee fast asleep.
While his coffee brewed Harry got the pot roast in the crock pot that he, Phee, and Anne would be eating later.
Harry sighed contently as he sat down on the couch with his cup of coffee. He hasn’t had a quiet and peaceful morning like this for a while.
With all the chaos from work, the holidays, and having a baby on his hands - these quiet and peaceful times are a blessing.
The quietness and peacefulness did not last long when he heard a rustling noise coming from the baby monitor.
He looked at the baby monitor and could see Ophelia slowly waking up from her slumber.
Harry took another sip of his warm coffee before getting Phee knowing when he came back down it would be cold.
He quickly walked upstairs and to Ophelia’s cracked nursery door.
When he walked in and his eyes landed on his sleepy baby he couldn’t help but coo, “Hi, love bug.”
Phee had balled up her fist and was rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, but stopped when she heard her father’s voice.
As fast as her little wobbly legs could, she stood up in her crib and made grabby hands towards Harry.
“Daddy,” her toothy grin making Harry’s smile even brighter if that was possible.
He placed his hands under her armpits and lifted her up and out of her crib bringing her to his chest for a morning snuggle.
The father-daughter sat there for a few as Harry rocked them both, slowly helping Phee wake up a bit more.
“Let’s get you changed so we can get some yummy food in your tummy.”
He gently tickled her tummy causing cute little baby squeals to erupt from Phee.
Harry placed her down on the changing table and got to work ridding her of her dirty pajamas and diaper.
As he taped the clean diaper on her hips, he blew raspberries on her chubby tummy, “What would you like to wear today?”
Harry placed Phee on his hip and walked over to her small closet where her tiny baby clothes were stored.
“Are you feeling pajamas or do you want some sweats?”
Ophelia’s brows were furrowed as she was deep in thought about what she wanted to wear.
Harry read in one of his baby books that letting your child help pick out what they want to wear is good because it helps their creativity and practices their decision-making.
Phee shook her head, “No clothes!” Her baby lisp was prominent when she mispronounced her words but Harry could still understand it.
“No clothes?” He questioned, “But you’ll get cold.”
“How about you wear just a t-shirt and a pair of socks?” He compromised.
He didn’t mind her not wearing any clothes but it was a bad habit to start, considering she will be going to daycare three times a week in the fall.
Ophelia agreed and Harry let her pick out her shirt and socks she wanted to wear.
“Now let’s get you dressed so we can go watch some movies before nana comes over!”

No one asked for my opinions, but if Keng + Non become a couple, I'm going to throw my laptop down the stairs. (I'm mature enough to be aware that I'm talking about fictional characters, ftr, and people are allowed to enjoy taboo things, but Keng just makes my skin crawl 😟)
Also, since I'm here with my personal DFF Ending wishlist, I'm hoping Jin tells Phee that he filmed Non with Keng and it makes Phee angry and Phee tells Jin why he got in with the group and it makes Jin angry. Am I wrong to want them to end up resenting each other?
Anon, I want the same outcome as you do with Jin and Phi fighting each other, but even if the show decided to give me them falling in love and trying to escape together, I won't be upset. I'll just want them to die even more.
TLWR: You're not wrong for wanting Phi and Jin to resent each other because I want everyone dead.
Mental Health 101 tells us not to stress about events that have not happened because then we will have been upset for an entire week that Keng is alive and with Non when in actuality, Keng could be dead like I want, and all our strife was for nothing.
But . . .
It's seriously the ONLY thing I can think about.
And I keep thinking about it because I wouldn't be mad about it.
Unlike all of these other shows that have done little things along the way to upset me before they hit me with the final offense, Dead Friend Forever has done everything right for me up until this point, so if it did something I don't agree with now, I'd be conflicted but not upset. Perfect example: Phi catching real feelings for Jin simply moved him onto the kill list, but I'm not upset at that development. I'm not mad at the show. I just want Phi to die now. It's like fantasy football and my pick for quarterback is fucking it up! I'm mad at the players, not the game.
The show has given an excuse for every single character. I still want all of them to die, but I can see why they did what they did (except Fluke cancelling the Uber). I understand how Phi caught real feelings. I get it! But I want him to die now. So if the show is giving us Keng alive, I'll probably understand why, but I'll still want him dead like I want everyone else dead (except Tan, Non, and White because they are perfect although I'm still questioning White).
Because this show has tapped into the very special part of my heart where I greatly enjoy watching characters die once they piss me off. By the end of the Game of Thrones, I was rooting for the White Walkers to take out EVERYBODY! And that's how I'm treating Dead Friend Forever. Once Uncle Dang lost his head, the possibility of people dying went up significantly, and I turned into the Queen of Hearts demanding heads roll.
Tumblr media
So while you've been questioning whether you're wrong or not for wanting these boys to resent each other, I've been actively rooting for them to murder each other.
You take the high road.
I came for the low.

"At Sunset"
15. Playing with someone’s hair
29. Cuddled up together
Pairing: Wrecker x fem reader
***
Ever since Phee had brought the Clones with her to Pabu, they'd become a great help to the island, especially with rebuilding after the tsunami that had taken place.
Though, the biggest of the bunch, Wrecker, had caught your attention. He'd helped you put your home back together and he was extremely kind and supportive. You loved it when he smiled at you; his smile was like the purest ray of Pabu sunshine that brought you comforting, all-encompassing warmth. He was a complete sweetheart...and admittedly, you were sad when your home was completed. You wanted to keep seeing him, but no longer had an excuse to. He got roped into helping with other things around the island pretty quickly and you went from seeing him almost every day to barely seeing him in passing maybe every other day. You missed him a lot, which made you realize you'd fallen harder for him than you thought. You weren't sure if he felt remotely the same. He was helping everyone and was just as kind to each person on Pabu; he was probably friendly to everyone he met. Every once in a while, it seemed like there were some lingering glances between you two, but it was most likely nothing. You felt it was best not to get your hopes up for anything, especially if he and his brothers weren't staying permanently.
As you were finishing up some shopping one day, you heard a small voice call out your name. When you looked in the direction it had come from, you saw Lyanna, the mayor's daughter, and Omega, Wrecker's sister, running towards you, both with big, bright smiles on their face.
"Hello, girls," you greeted them as they stopped in front of you.
"We have a message for you!" exclaimed Lyanna.
"From Wrecker!" added Omega excitedly.
Your heart jumped into your throat. "From...Wrecker?" you repeated. "What is it?"
Both girls exchanged giddy grins before Lyanna informed you, "He wants you to meet him tonight at the docks at sunset."
"He was very specific about it being at sunset," Omega said.
Sunset...that was your favorite time of day because you loved watching the sun go down on the horizon and the beautiful colors that painted the sky. You had once mentioned that to Wrecker in passing. Had he remembered? No, more than likely it was probably just the easiest time to meet. Even still, though, it was nice that he wanted to meet with you.
"Thank you for passing along the message. Tell him I'll be there," you told the girls.
The two of them just giggled in reply and then ran off. Something was going on with those two...and you were now even more curious about your upcoming rendezvous with Wrecker.
***
Before you left your house, you filled up a basket full of Pabu's various fruits, knowing how much Wrecker loved them. You had put on your favorite dress and even put a little extra curl in your hair just so you at least looked nice, even though you didn't know what was going to happen. You were just going to see Wrecker and that was good enough for you. You made your way down the island to the dock and found he was already there waiting for you. He spotted you out of the corner of his eye and looked your way.
"There you are!" he cried out gladly.
There it was again, that bright smile on his face that put even the glowing sunset to shame and it was all for you. Shyly, you waved and went over to him.
"What's in the basket?" he asked.
You lifted the cloth you had over it and showed him. "A little surprise for you," you said.
His face lit up even more. "You're the best!" he cried.
"I try," you said, tucking some hair behind your ear.
That action made him notice your hair and he reached up, tenderly running his fingers through it. "You curled your hair. It looks so nice," he complimented you. Then his eyes wandered down to your dress and he stepped back, taking your hands in his as he exclaimed, "And your dress...you look so pretty, (Y/N)! I mean, you always look pretty, but right now, you look breathtaking!"
Your jaw dropped in happy disbelief. Where was all this coming from? Not that you were complaining, of course.
"I'm glad you came," he said, still holding your hands. His expression softened to perhaps he most gentle, caring look you'd ever seen from him. "You'd said before that you loved the sunset, so I thought this would be a great time to see you."
"You...you remembered," you said, even more shocked.
"Yeah, I did," he replied. "I wanted to see you tonight because I've missed you and not seeing you every day made me realize that I like you a lot. I want to spend more time with you and get to know you more, if that's okay with you."
You couldn't believe what you were hearing and a joyful cry escaped you. "Wrecker...I would love that more than anything!" you cried. "I really like you, too, and I've missed you."
Wrecker's happy smile returned at hearing that you felt the same about him and he led you over to the edge of the dock, still holding your hand. "I thought we could watch the sunset together," he said.
"That sounds perfect," you said back as you both sat down.
You sat down beside him and wasted no time in cuddling up next to him. He reacted the way you'd hoped and wrapped one of his arms around your shoulders, pulling you closer. You pulled out one of the fruits from your basket and gave it to him, which he took with his free hand and ate as the two of you watched the sun go down, illuminating the sky with a variety of colors.
Then you glanced up at him as he kept watching the sun and you couldn't hold back a smile. Wrecker had the same feelings towards you as you did him and he was there with you, having remembered that you loved sunsets. He was very attentive and that was quite an attractive quality to you. This was the happiest you'd felt in a long time.
You turned back to watch the sun and a few seconds later, you felt his lips on your cheek. When you looked up at him, he had a shy look on his face.
"You missed," you told him.
His head tilted curiously. "What...what do you mean?" he asked, confused.
Then you reached up, took the back of his head and guided him down until your lips met in a gentle kiss.
When you pulled back, his smile widened even more. "Ohhh, now I get it," he stated.
You giggled at him and he came forward and kissed you yet again, making you feel warmer and more content than any Pabu sunset ever had before.

What the Bad Batchers kids would be like!!
(a short collection of characters to keep my mind off my current WIP)
Disclaimer!! There is no ‘timeline’ per se, just ages. You be the judge.
Markus:
the son of Tech and Phee (sorry, I had to!).
He is 16 years of age and the epitome of the best of both worlds.
He is very intelligent, and adventurous. He also has a strange love of geology, but we won’t get into that.
He is generally quite bashful like his father but leans a little more towards extrovert like his mother.
One of those kids who really prefers to stay out of trouble at all costs, but then surprises you with lock-picking skills or something. (still working on him. Will probably add more later)
Leonié (or as preferred, Leo):
the daughter of Crosshair (I had too much fun with this one.
She is 14 years old and was… not meant to happen, but here she is.
She lived with her mother until she was eight (mainly because Crosshair didn’t know she existed) but now she lives with her father and the rest of the bad batch.
She is very monotone, yet sassy like her father, and (though she’d never admit it) wants more than anything to be just like him.
She is an ambivert with the social battery of an Android phone.
She looks just like Crosshair but with some… obvious differences.
She is a troublemaker, but not the normal kind. She’s the kind that will go days acting like an angel, and then one day, there’s Suran wrap on all the toilet seats, which distracts you from her sneaking out to go get piercings and a tattoo. Yeah.
Is, as the writer of Enola Holmes said, prone to melancholy (aka she’s a smidge bipolar).
Buck (shut up, I know it’s a dumb name)
Is Hunter’s son (I ship Fennter, but we’re not getting into that right now)
He is 13 years old, and a scrappy little kiddo.
He definitely inherited Hunter’s shortness and gets into regular arguments with Leo about it.
And yes, he and Leo are the “you're an idiot, said with (platonic) love” duo.
He is an extrovert and very curious. Loves to see all the different cultures of planets.
Also inherited his father’s fabulous hair
Usually stays out of trouble, but… things happen.
Scout:
Wrecker’s (adopted) son.
8 years old.
Wrecker found him on the planet equivalent to Scotland (don’t ask) as an infant, and was immediately like “This child is mine now.”
He is very high-energy. All.the.time!
Is the kind of kid that is always accidentally getting into trouble, and it’s cute for some reason.
Extrovert. No way around it.
Want’s to try everything, meet everyone, do everything, eat every food, all at the same time type of energy.
Please leave comments, I'm new to all this and wold love feedback!!!
