Quantumania... did the critics and I watch the same movie???
I swear, people expect Endgame out of everything these days and it’s getting old. Marvel had the impossible task of finishing an Ant Man trilogy while simultaneously introducing Kang the Conquerer (holy shit that sounds even more difficult when I say it out loud) to general, non-comic fanatic and non-Disney Plus subscribing audiences, and they did about the best they could have done. In my opinion, they did great.
That was the most fun I’ve had in a Marvel movie since No Way Home. I think Wakanda Forever was of a higher quality, but this was something else I needed for my trust to be earned back. I have my faith back in Marvel movie magic. It’s still there, and I couldn’t be more hyped for where Ant Man goes next. :)
(PS: Jonathan Majors is my hero and I now want all the MODOK merch)

*Jentorra shows up on the screen*
my first thought: damn she's hot
my cousin who's sitting next to me: did you see her body??
me, already having thoughts: yeah 😍😍
my cousin: I wanna look like that too
me, realizing we're looking at her very differently: oh, right, obvi, same, hah 😅😅 *pretending I didn't just fall in love with yet another marvel woman lol*

🚨ANT MAN 3 SPOILERS 🚨
An ant man movie without Luis does not feel right. Like at all 😭 idk how the filming worked for this movie since they’ve been all over the place since Covid, but I would’ve loved to see Luis at Scott’s book reading event, or even interrupting Scott’s initial narration and taking over. Or even in one of the end credits? Or showing up to the van dyne’s door after they get sucked into the quantum realm and having something comedic to say once no one lets him in? I really don’t know but I was so excited to see him…

ant man: quantumania spoiler review
okay here is my full spoiler review of the third ant man movie after i saw it twice. i will be tagging it so you can block those tags if you don’t want to read about it.
please keep on scrolling if you do not want to be spoiled about the movie.
without further ado, here is my thoughts about the movie!
.
.
.
‼️⚠️SERIOUSLY KEEP SCROLLING IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED⚠️‼️
.
.
.
Okay, so i really loved the movie. i don’t know why this movie is getting so much hate. let me break down what i loved about the movie and what i didn’t:
i loved kang’s character. i hate that other people are saying he’s supposed to be bigger than thanos and how ant man defeated him, but that is one version of kang. there are other kangs who can be bigger than thanos, and this one isn’t up there
it also has to do with the fact that kang doesn’t know what to do with the quantum realm since he’s never been there (as far as i know. i haven’t read the comics). he isn’t powerful down there, but scott, janet, hank, and hope are. they have the advantage, which is why they beat him so easily
he was exiled there, he didn’t go there by choice
and it’s the fact that kang isn’t dead. scott even says so himself that he doesn’t think kang is dead. he got sucked into the core at the very end, and while i don’t know this character, some people are saying he becomes the beyonder which can be of use to the avengers in the kang dynasty
it’s a good way to start off phase 5, and i can’t wait to see kang come back in all kinds of ways
i loved the quantum people. i thought they added a good balance as they fought for their realm since kang was never supposed to be there
i loved the humor in this movie, especially when ant man was looking at all those possibilities when he was about to shrink the core down. the ant man movies has always been about humor and good banter, so i’m not surprised they used it in this movie
those two end credit scenes have me high on life. i loved seeing all those kangs coming together and plotting against the avengers. i’m not sure what their plan is for the multiverse, but i know it’s going to be good
also, that teaser for loki season 2 had the whole tehater gasping when they saw tom hiddleston on screen. truly so excited for that season!
what i didn’t like:
while i like the idea of modok’s character, i absolutely hated that it was darren cross from the first movie
so, i thought scott had killed him and made him implode on himself, not send him to the quantum realm. darren was a terrible villain, he didn’t have depth to his character, and he was truly the worst thing about the first ant man movie
the fact that they brought him back made my skin crawl. he was about as useful as he was in the first movie. the cgi didn’t do him justice at all. i went to go see it with my sister, and she was not impressed with it as well. we both found it really weird
i’m a fan of kathryn newton (mostly from supernatural), but i don’t know how i felt about her being casted as cassie.
i don’t know why they decided to go with a different actress for cassie when they had one for endgame. the one from endgame (i don’t know her name) looks more like scott, she had a lot of emotions in that film and i felt like she could have been a better cassie if given the chance
with that in mind, i don’t know if i liked the way kathryn took cassie’s character. i get she wants to help and she has a suit now and has been dabbling in the shrinking tech hank had for the five years scott was gone, but i feel like she didn’t bring enough for the character
i know she is being set up as the next ant man for the young avengers film and for future projects, but her acting seemed a bit one dimensional, in my opinion
WHY WASN’T LUIS IN THIS MOVIE?! i saw a post about someone wanting luis to come in at the end credit scene and explain what happened or explained the kangs by talking really fast. they truly missed an opportunity
i hope they make another ant man movie because i loved this trilogy. scott didn’t die, so there is potential for another movie!

so, ant man 3 general thoughts - spoilers under the cut!
I loved the movie, it was so fun, and I feel like it could be even better in 3D lmao
first of all, I just love the vibe, and the comedy mixed with action and all that, it was well balanced imo, and so enjoyable
tbh it took a while to get going, more or less the first half was kinda longish, but when it picked up, it was awesome haha
now, Cassie - loved her so much, Kathryn Newton was amazing, and I love how her dynamic with Scott still feels pretty much the same, they really feel like father and daughter and I loved that
also, Cassie calling Hank grandpa? 🥺🥺🥺 pls I love this - we need more of that relationship fr (also, I'd love to see more of Cassie and Hope tbh)
Scott was amazing as always, and, again, I just love his relationship with Cassie, he's such a good dad, and he was equally badass and funny and I love him haha
and Hank with the ants?! that was so cool, he's the best
the people in the quantum realm were cool too - the thing talking about holes was adorable, and Jentorra was so fucking hot 🥵🔥I need to see more of her lol, new crush haha
(also, fucking Darren? I did not expect to see him 😂 lmao that was hilarious, everyone was laughing so hard fr 😂)
now, I loved the whole story, and getting the backstory on Janet and her time down there, and meeting Kang - it was all so interesting
and Kang is so fucking powerful, my god, I cannot wait to see him again and to see him/his variants fight the avengers, bc how the fuck are they gonna pull that off (that's what we're getting in the Kang dynasty right? lol)
it was cool, I really fucking enjoyed it, had a great time, and it got me excited for the future films haha
also, does the post credit scene mean I have to watch Loki s2 now to know what's going on? 😭 bc I don't think I'm gonna, I'll have to rely on spoilers if it's very relevant haha (I'm sorry but I really didn't enjoy s1, it was so boring, to the point that I don't even remember most of it haha)

Kang the Conquerer in Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania might have been the good guy!!
(Or at least the least evil villain in this story... so hear me out! :))
I just went out to see Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania with my family and my father, who has never seen a single Marvel movie, just had the greatest speculation in the world!
Tumblr media
Imagine: The first post credit scene showed three main Kang Variants disputing the matter of the exiled Kangs fate which resulted in them calling every single one of the remaining Kang Variants. Now, think about the short scene where Janet touched Kangs mind (and therefore most likely the other Kang's minds). And lastly, think of the way Kang asked her multiple times about what she saw and how they never had time to talk about what she had seen.
Tumblr media
Now here's the thing my father pointed out:
What if the Kang in Quantumania was the Kang they SHOULD have let free? What if the other Kangs exiled that particular Kang because he wanted to STOP the other Kangs? What if Janet had seen what the other Kangs had done and what that Kang was trying to stop? This would make a lot more sense than just all the other remaining Kangs exiling that one Kang because he was following the same mindset. Maybe it was all just a big misunderstanding?
This especially makes sense if you include the ending of Quantumania in this debate, where Scott "overthinks" what has happened and guesses (right) that other Kangs will come and bring destruction upon the world.
Please give me some pieces if your mind in the comments. To me, this makes so much sense. xD
