An ant man movie without Luis does not feel right. Like at all šŸ˜­ idk how the filming worked for this movie since theyā€™ve been all over the place since Covid, but I wouldā€™ve loved to see Luis at Scottā€™s book reading event, or even interrupting Scottā€™s initial narration and taking over. Or even in one of the end credits? Or showing up to the van dyneā€™s door after they get sucked into the quantum realm and having something comedic to say once no one lets him in? I really donā€™t know but I was so excited to see himā€¦

It was a rather quiet afternoon at the Hazbin Hotel.
You were up in the radio tower straightening a few things while Alastor was out doing gods know whatĀ 
You decided that since you had cleaned up most of the place that you would take a stroll through town as some down time.
You hummed a tune as you passed many sinners out and about. Your stroll led pass the digital shop. You slowed as you noticed a crowd gathered outside a Voxtech store.
There were multiple tvs playing things in the windows and what caught your attention was the deals they had going on.
You bit your lip. Oh it couldnt hurt to window shop right?
You entered and was immediately overwhelmed by all the fancy tech.
why did hell need modern tech you had no idea.
A shiny pink camera caught your attention.
And it was cheap.
You did need a new camera. It would help with advertisement and to show the progress of the hotel you thought as you happily paid for it and went about your way.
what you didnā€™t know was that Vox had been tracking you the moment you left the hotel.
that camera of yours was now his gateway into seeing what Alastor was up to.
Once back at the hotel you pulled out your shiny new purchase.
you turned it on and walked around filming a bit.
You checking the footage to check out the quality when you heard a record scratch
ā€what is that my dear?ā€Ā 
You jumped at the sound of Alastorā€™s voice and spun around holding the camera
His eyes narrowed on it and quirked his brow at you, airing for an explanation.
ā€Well Al I-I just thought that the hotel could use a camera to help with promoting. We can record our progress. Now you donā€™t have to do all the work.ā€ You said with a nervous smile, hoping he wouldnā€™t toss it.
He walked closer to you, mainly keeping his eyes on the tech.
ā€and where did you get such a frivolous thing?ā€Ā 
you gulped ā€œAt the v-voxtech storeā€
His ever-present smile tightened before he shrugged ā€œfine if you think itā€™ll helpā€
you breathed a sigh of relief and happily went about your way testing it out.
Unaware of the growing shadows emitting from him.
after spending a few hours getting the hang of your new device, you decided to call it a night and put your camera on your nightstand as you got ready for bed.
You shivered slightly under your cover, grumbling you furrowed further to seek some warmth.
why the hell was it so cold?
you shifted again in bed to feel a heavy weight on top of you.
your eyes flew open and you were met with a very frightening sight.
Alastor.
In his demon form.
Your breath got caught in your throat ā€œA-Al?ā€
He tilted his head, smile wide and sharp ā€œSleeping well my dear?ā€ His voice was staticky and distorted.
you were so confused.
you hardly EVER saw Alastor upset, especially to the point were he was in his demon form.
ā€œWhy is that in your room dear?ā€ He hissed out, jutting his chin to your camera.
You tilted your head confused at his question.
he was angry about a damn camera?
A clawed hand was at your throat.
ā€I allow many things dear, but this unattractive piece of scrap in your room? That is where I draw the lineā€
You let out a squeak as your clothes suddenly disappeared and covers ripped away.
ā€A-Al?!ā€
Your hands were quickly restrained by his shadows and your legs were spreaded to welcome him closer.
when the hell did he undress?
You felt the faint ghost touch of a tentacle slide against your cunt, teasing your clit. You let out a soft moan.

he granted you grace and your hands immediately flew to his antlers.
He let outa low growl and sunk his teeth into your shoulder.
With his dick hitting that delious spot inside you, you could feel him bottoming out.
You were flipped onto your stomach, facing the camera.
the shadow around your mouth disappeared and a claw hand found your tongue.

Dottore and his s/o character miscellany but it's formatted as if fragile!reader is the only character that is going to be released and that they're going to be separate units.
While Dottore is explaining and narrating (how the pufftorres boosts and foxtorre works) until he slowly becomes distracted in his narration.
Reader: *gets hit*
Dottore, pauses briefly but continues, noticeably his tone is slightly agitated. Another hit, another pause.
Dottore tries to continue againā€”
Reader receives a heavy hit and is now on red bar.
Dottore, clicking his tongue. "That's enough."
Get baited! They're actually a dual unit! Dottore enters the miscellany, that's one of his voicelines when he automatically switches in (smooth transition let's go!)
And now it's reader's turn to explain Dottore's attacks and passives in the miscellany, making a quick quip that they're fine and that they'd be back up in no time with a laugh (no they're not fine they're on life support)
Also: Cute moment where Dottore scolds reader for staying out too long! Telling them off that they should have stepped away sooner. Reader is horrible at following instructions though, so no. The banter happens just when the video is about to end :D
OH YESSS NONNIE YOUR BRAINNN >>> ahh that is so real... I can already hear his voice: "[Name]'s Normal Attack can combo up to four strikes, dealing physical damage" and the best part is that even though his voice sounds normal you can just hear how proud he is of you for being able to do this šŸ˜­ like you were barely able to write probably and now you're out on the field doing this... although you still are very weak, he is quite proud ā¤ļø
UGH when he's speaking and explaining your kit, all you can see in the background is poor reader getting hit by enemies and the little grunts of pain interrupting him every five seconds before the transition as you said. šŸ˜­ IM GOING CRAZY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. Dottore makes quick work of the enemies while reader is panting and gasping for air before laughing it off and then explaining his kit between wheezes, and also making their own silly commentary ("Dottore's Elemental Skill can- ouch that looks like it hurt..." 'Ack, Dottore stop killing them so quickly! I can't *cough* speak that fast...") And, it would be funny if no other party members are shown because these two prefer to work with only themselves, no other. šŸ˜­
XEFJBEFH the black screen and all of a sudden you hear a head flick and reader whining... and then Dottore's stern voice about how they didn't need to stay out that long for the sake of the meaningless audience... but reader wanted to show off anyway :3

i jest (to an extent). but i do think the entirety of harry and remus' dynamic is best encapsulated in one singular scene in PoA:
ā€œWhen they get near me ā€” ā€ Harry stared at Lupinā€™s desk, his throat tight. ā€œI can hear Voldemort murdering my mum.ā€ Lupin made a sudden motion with his arm as though to grip Harryā€™s shoulder, butĀ thoughtĀ betterĀ ofĀ it.
i know there's a very understandable move in AUs to imagine what would have happened if remus had raised harry - or, more often, if remus had been 'allowed' to raise harry by dumbledore. but looking past the whole plot-requiring-harry-to-be-at-the-dursleys thing, the truth is, canon remus lupin would never have put himself forward to raise harry, because of his own (not unfounded!) concerns about the precarity of his existence and the dangerousness of his condition. remus' sense of self - more specifically his fear of himself, and his very low self worth - consistently lead him to hold harry at arm's length from the moment he's introduced in the series until its bitter end. i don't think remus at all approves of the way harry is treated at the dursleys. but i can very much imagine that remus thinks it would still be better than the life he could have given harry if he ever had been called upon to serve as his primary caregiver. one of the most interesting implicit dynamics in the series is that harry notices this and does, to some extent, resent it (obviously the fact that he only ever calls him 'lupin' in his narration, though uses remus to his face, and also: 'Harry had received no mail since the start of term; his only regular correspondent was now dead and although he had hoped that Lupin might write occasionally, he had so far been disappointed.') while the harry & remus fight in DH is about harry's view of what remus ought to do re tonks and the baby, itā€™s also harry coming as close as saying to remus: you're letting your own child down like you let me down. ('Iā€™m pretty sure my father would have wanted to know why you arenā€™t sticking with your own kid, actually... He had it coming to him,ā€ said Harry. Broken images were racing each other through his mind: Sirius falling through the veil; Dumbledore suspended, broken, in midair; a flash of green light and his motherā€™s voice, begging for mercyā€¦ ā€˜Parents,ā€™ said Harry, 'shouldnā€™t leave their kids unlessā€”unless theyā€™ve got to.')
molly and remus: i think this is a very, very underrated relationship! i know thereā€™s a lot of molly-bashing around these days, especially if youā€™re a marauders and/or sirius and/or wolfstar stan. but i think it is very very overlooked that the person who looks after adult remus the most from 1995 onwards, and who shows him some of the deepest trust and roots for his happiness, is molly. for a man who has plainly known a huge amount of financial/food/housing insecurity, and who is so villainised in wider wizarding society, it is no small gesture for molly to not only provide for remus materially but also to trust him in a house with all of her children and encourage him in a romantic relationship he struggles to feel entitled to and worthy of. (i love sirius, but he is in no fit state to ā€˜look afterā€™ remus in the last year of his life, and fandomā€™s continued unwillingness to recognise the importance of domestic/caregiving labour as a vital contribution to the resistance will never not be problematic af). remus clearly values and admires molly in return - the only time he actually ever entertains a parent/guardianship role is when molly is weeping over her boggart, crying onto remusā€™ shoulder (ā€˜what must you think of me?ā€™) and he assures her that if anything were to happen to her and arthur, he would be a part of the team making sure her children are taken date of (ā€˜what do you think weā€™d do, let them starve?ā€™) remusā€™ relationship with molly is often the more mild-mannered translator of her viewpoint to others (especially others with hot tempers), and mediator trying to find middle ground between mollyā€™s protective instincts and the battle/ready instincts of others. (more grist to my sirius & ginny parallels mill ā€” in DH, when a fuming ginny is desperately trying to sneak off to fight in the battle, itā€™s remus who appeals to molly and ginny to find the compromise of ginny staying in the room of requirement to know whatā€™s going on but not actively fight, a mirror image of his role mediating the dispute between sirius and molly over harryā€™s right to know whatā€™s going on at grimmauld in ootpā€¦) molly accepts this compromise, a sign that she trusts remus implicitly (she never frets that a werewolf is living among her children in ootp onwards, and invites him to christmas readily even after months undercover with the pack) and also feels able to call him out (ā€˜iā€™ve always said youā€™re taking a ridiculous line on this, remusā€™.) this is too long but basically ā€” justice for molly and remus, unlikely buds!
teddy and andromeda: i weirdly think a lot about teddy lupin these days. i tend to imagine teddy as a very mild-mannered, affable, calm child, like who remus might have been had he not been bitten, with tonks' heart and sociability but also with something of remus' more philosophical disposition. i think he'd slip very naturally into a big brother role because, in part, he does see himself as having a responsibility to take care of people, and i think this would shine through in his relationship with andromeda. we know teddy was raised by his gran, and i imagine she feels enormously protective of him, perhaps bordering on strict in her desire to keep him safe from the harm that came to all the rest of her family. but i like to imagine teddy didn't act out against this too much, in part because he understands where it comes from and in turn feels very protective of andromeda. growing up in the aftermath of the war would make teddy as a child particularly aware of the grief and pain and the silences among the adults around him, and i think teddy would take any compensatory protective strictness on andromeda's part with good grace, and humour her for it. i like to think teenage/young adult teddy serves as the translator for any of his gran's more prickly edges, and that they have a very close relationship that both of them really treasure.

Kinnā€™s voice in episode 7: heart boners everywhere
This post almost didnā€™t happen because of various Life/Work Shenanigans, but thankfully I had a bit of free time today so Iā€™m squeezing this in right before episode 8 ruins our lives. Shout-out to my gf for having to put up with me replaying the bathroom scene like 50 times on the TV to figure out whoā€™s moaning when. (Iā€™m sorry baby I needed the surround sound for this šŸ˜­)
I donā€™t have time to cover every scene, especially because thereā€™s SO much I want to talk about toward the end of the episode, so this post will be on the shorter side. (Narrator voice: It was in fact NOT on the shorter side.)

First off, the hugĀ scene.
Thereā€™s an interesting borderline stiffness to this scene that Iā€™m not sure what to make of. This may have been early on in filming or just a slight awkwardness because of the blocking, which feels kind of rigid and unnatural. But I think at least part of that stiffness is meant to be there, this general sense that theyā€™re still finding their footing around each other.
Kinnā€™s voice has changed drastically from the forest. We saw the first signs of it at the end of episode 6, when his tone started to pitch a bit lower again as he began very slowly pulling himself back into his usual persona, preparing to return to his world and his role.
Here, heā€™s back to that persona and the voice that goes with it: lower, softer, more controlled. But it has a raspy quality to it too that I havenā€™t heard much from him. Heā€™s not treating his voice as part of a performance or a display of power. In this scene, heā€™s treating Porsche like an equal, like a partner even, on his home turf. So with that comes a kind of renegotiation of how he expresses himself. Heā€™s got better control, a more mature quality to his voice, but heā€™s not hiding the emotion in it either.
Thatā€™s what I really like about Kinnā€™s voice in this scene, that heā€™s trying to bridge this divide between himself as mafia heir and himself as Porscheā€™s lover/boyfriend/whatever term theyā€™re going with. He canā€™t just be the happy, loud, expressive dork from the forest, even in private, now that theyā€™re back in his world, but he canā€™t be aloof and rigid either, not with Porsche. That conflict creates a very subtle tension throughout the scene that you can hear in the slight hoarseness of his voice.
That said, he doesnā€™t let it stop him from talking honestly with Porsche about Vegas and the minor family, from expressing his fears for Porscheā€™s safety, fromĀ asking him to promise heā€™ll return, from demanding a hug (in an even softer voice that shows his fondness).

TheĀ ā€œheā€™s yoursā€ scene.
God, I need to write another ownership/possession meta because holy shit. The way the energy in the room changes completely when Kinn says this line. Porsche turns from a happy, smug brat into a pissed-off, fed-up man in the span of like 2 seconds.
But anyway, I digress.
We got that little thread of tension in Kinnā€™s voice in the earlier hospital scene, but hereā€™s where that thread starts to really get pulled, and all because of Kinnā€™s insecurities around Vegas rising to the surface. His voice is more dynamic in this scene, especially once Porsche starts teasing him, goading him to show his jealousy, his possessiveness. He rises to the bait so easily.
But once Vegas is there, that control is back. This is really one of the first times that Porsche sees that performance of authority and power up-close again since the forest. Kinnā€™s voice is so calm, so cool, so impartial, and you can see in Porscheā€™s reaction, both to his tone and to his words, how much it frustrates him that Kinn is speaking like that. Kinn is getting back at Porsche for his teasing, but what Kinn doesnā€™t grasp yet is that Porsche only pushes his buttons to make sure the buttons work. Porsche teases him about Vegas because he wants Kinn to react, to express his feelings. He needs the reminders that Kinn is just as undone by Porsche as Porsche is by him.
And Kinn, in the voice he uses, the wordsĀ he uses, denies him that as soon as Vegas walks in the room. Itā€™s understandable, of course. Their relationship needs to be a secret, and Kinn making any even remotely explicit claim to Porsche in front of Vegas would be a really bad idea, no matter how much he wants to. But Porsche still canā€™t help but by bothered by it, especially when itā€™s clear that Kinn is making a point to him as well as Vegas. Kinn is saying: I won this round.

The balcony scene.

For the sake of time, I had to skip Kinnā€™s scenes with his dad and his friends, which sucks but MOVING ON.
Okay, think about where Kinn and Porsche left off in their last scene. Porsche goading Kinn into showing his jealousy, succeeding until Vegas walks in, and then Kinn shutting his feelings off and saying basically,Ā ā€œPorsche is yours. Do what you want with him.ā€ It was 100% a show and he didnā€™t mean a word, but it still rankles at Porsche.
Thatā€™s why this scene hits so good for me, because as soon as Kinn has a chance to turn his feelings back on, to be open with Porsche again, he jumps on it, especially after the encouragement from his friends.
First though, he riles Porsche up over the phone. He keeps that little bit of indifference in his voice, not the control and authority he had in front of Vegas, but the nonchalance is there, just softened by the warmer tone and the distortion over the phone. Now heā€™sĀ teasing Porsche, giving as good as he got earlier.
And when he hangs up and surprises Porsche in person, his voice is so, so,Ā so soft. You can sense a bit of that tension remaining from the very first scene, that rough quality, that control, but itā€™s looser now. Heā€™s making a very conscious effort notĀ to hide himself, notĀ to temper that softness, which is its own kind of control.
Thereā€™s a lot on Kinnā€™s mind in this scene, a lot of warring feelings, and it shows so well in his voice. He sounds vulnerableĀ here, afraid even, incredibly gentle. Heā€™s not used to showing those parts of himself, and as much as he jumped at the chance to be like that in the forest, now that heā€™s back in his own world, he feels the disconnect of who he is with Porsche and who heā€™s supposed to be the rest of the time.
Then we have the fucking tonal shift of the centuryĀ from that to outrageously cringey dick jokes. I donā€™t even really want to break this down because itā€™s just BONKERS, but Kinnā€™s voice manages to dip lower and rougher without losing any of that earlier softness. He canā€™t even make dick puns without sounding like a simp.

The bathroom scene.
Fuck.
Thatā€™s it, thatā€™s the analysis.
No, Iā€™m kidding, but I just had to let it out at least once.
When I see them side by side, the shift Kinnā€™s voice makes from the balcony seen to thisĀ is absolutely insane and shows how much of his fears, his anxieties, his insecurities, heā€™s been holding back, even from Porsche.
When confronted with the sight of Vegas kissing Porsche, even though objectively he would know the chances of Porsche consenting to that are basically nil, he completely loses all of that iron control, that aloofness, that he worked so hard to show in his previous interaction with Vegas at the hospital. In this moment, heā€™s not thinking of appearances at all. Heā€™s thinking no further than getting Vegas away from Porsche, than the gut-punch of seeing Porsche with someone else.
So when he asks,Ā ā€œDo you see the ring on my finger?ā€ he is yelling. Itā€™s not the well-modulated power or authority he shows in his usual raised voice (for example, the boat scene in episode 1). His voice is cracking, rough, pitching wildly, a little shrill, nothing but pure instinct and feeling behind it. Heā€™s not hiding his jealousy from Vegas now; heā€™s unleashing it in full force.
We see Vegas unmask himself to a lesser extent. He doesnā€™t even speak, but when Kinn shows his true colors (all of them, the man is a rainbow wearing a mafia boss suit), so does Vegas. They mirror each other.
Kinn extends this voice even to his own bodyguards, which has only happened once that I can recall, in a similar situation at the end of episode 4 when they find Porsche drugged on the bed. Heā€™s so out of control in this moment he canā€™t distinguish between his side and Vegasā€™s. Heā€™s seeing green, green, green.
And then he goes even further! He uses that voice on Porsche. Kinn has neverĀ spoken like this to him, not even in his worst moments. Heā€™s showing Porsche all the fury and fear heā€™s feeling, not holding anything back. Itā€™s not a productive kind of communication. Itā€™s just an explosion, and the blast is aimed at Porsche.
A lot of people have pointed out that Porsche has a small smile at the start of this moment, one that quickly shifts to surprise, then hurt, then anger. He likes that Kinn is showing his jealousy, staking his claim, but he doesnā€™t expect Kinn to be angry at himĀ for being more or less assaulted.
After that initial outburst, Kinnā€™s voice softens, focuses in, like instead of just letting his anger fill the room, heā€™s pointing it directly at Porsche. It shifts the conversation momentarily into something more intimate, but no less volatile, and thatā€™s what pushes Porsche into his own reaction. (Iā€™d also like to point out how Kinnā€™s heavy breathing completely stopsĀ the second Porsche brings up Tawan. Thereā€™s a lot to unpack there, but OOF.)
AND THEN!!!!! Oh god, okay, hold it in, Izzy.
That line drops: ā€œYouā€™re more of a wh*re than I thought.ā€
Hooooo boy. Kinn does exactlyĀ the same thing he did in episode 5 with the lineĀ ā€œStarting tomorrow, Iā€™m replacing you.ā€ This specific sequence - leaning in, inhaling deep, lowering his voice, clenching his jaw, bringing his lips close to Porscheā€™s, like he wants to press his next words right into Porscheā€™s mouth - is practically a mirror image of that prior scene, and it has the same, perfectly designed effect: to hit Porsche where it hurts.
His voice shakesĀ here. Heā€™s brought his voice under control in terms of volume, but all that emotion is pressed in. Imagine those vacuum storage bags you use to shrink clothes or pillows down to as little space as possible. Thatā€™s exactly what Kinnā€™s doing with his voice. Heā€™s packing every ounce of that rage and fear of his loud, unrestrained yelling into a tighter, softer voice. Itā€™s, again, extremely intimate, because itā€™s so specifically trained on Porsche, like a sniper fixed on a target.
Itā€™s cruel, but cruelty is what Kinn knows. Itā€™s what he was taught.

But what distinguishes that moment of cruelty from its twin in episode 5 is what happens next. Kinn tries to fix it.
Weā€™ve gotten a lot of sorrys in the past two episodes from Kinn, but this one hits especially hard. It shows so much growth that heā€™s actually able to pull back, to recognize his fuck-up, and make amends in the momentĀ instead of days or weeks later. Character development, babyyy.
Kinnā€™s voice, when he apologizes, is just so fucking soft. Breathy, muffled, barely audible over the music. He presses the words into Porscheā€™s shoulder. It feels distinctly physical. Heā€™s not just saying the words. Heā€™s making them a part of his touch, using them as another point of contact between them. Kinn is, in general, a tactile person. He expresses with his body what he often canā€™t with his words. But here, he's doingĀ both. Heā€™s trying to give Porsche what he needs - words - while also apologizing with touch, closeness, intimacy.
I talked about this right after the episode dropped, because itā€™s just so gut-wrenching, how hard Kinn is trying for Porsche, how much heā€™s fighting all the behaviors heā€™s been taught to rely on his whole life. You can see the fight leave him before it leaves Porsche, as soon as he realizes heā€™s gone too far, that what heā€™s doing is driving Porsche away from him. Heā€™s remembering what he told Tay:Ā ā€œI donā€™t want to be like the old me.ā€
When Porsche turns, not running away, giving him a chance to, as @liyazakiā€‹ put it BRILLIANTLY,Ā ā€œheal what he hurt,ā€ you can see how relieved Kinn is, how totally his anger collapses in the face of Porscheā€™s hurt. The little noise he lets out at 56:12 is particularly devastating.
Note: These voice metas are about Kinn so I focus mostly on his POV, but I think itā€™s important to note, and Apo mentioned this himself, that Porsche is going on his own journey in this scene and has his own apologies to offer, even if he doesnā€™t say them out loud. I just want to clarify that I donā€™t think there is a clearĀ ā€œbad guyā€ in this scene. As in a lot of arguments in a lot of relationships, they both said things they shouldnā€™t have and they both regret saying them. Neither of them is perfect and thatā€™s what makes them so compelling together.
And from that point on, Kinn lets himself go. He surrenders to the moment.

What strikes me about the sex scene is how loudĀ Kinn is. Porscheā€™s noises are lower, breathier, barely audible over the music. But Kinn is outright moaning. His voice here is higher, sweeter, more like the tone he had in the forest.
The way he says Porscheā€™s name (twice!) is just a lot. Again, his voice is so soft, airy, light, mixing with the music. Heā€™s melting into the moment, finally allowing himself to be vulnerable, to be joyful. He has Porsche here with him, safe and whole, because Porsche chooses him. Porsche is showing him his forgiveness, his love, his loyalty, at the same time that Kinn is showing him his trust, his ownership, his sincerity.

Happy @dadrunkwriting! Thanks for this prompt. Here is some slightly circular narration about Cullen's withdrawal, with a focus on his early nightmares post-lyrium.
CW for torture, sleep deprivation, claustrophobia, psychological torture
Sleep isnā€™t a problem at first. In fact, for the first week or so, he barely notices a difference. His dreams remain blurred, unfocused. Filtered by the last filter heā€™d taken in Kirkwall. His last one ever, so he keeps reminding himself, though practiced hands still reach for the vial at his bedside when he wakes blearily with the dawn. Muscle memory. Habit. Conditioning.Ā  Sleep isnā€™t a problem, even after the symptoms start setting in. When his reaching hands shake so hard they can barely grip the glass of water. The water he gulps greedily down, while wishing it were gleaming blue instead of clear. The water he canā€™t seem to keep down, retching it back up moments later. No, even when his insides are on fire and his whole body is racked with the searing pain, sleep isnā€™t a problem.Ā  Itā€™s not until the worst of the pains and the cravings subside, when the Song is little more than a half-remembered tune in the back of his skull, and his body can actually, truly rest. That is when sleep becomes a daunting, dreadful torture.Ā 
Every night, when he lays his head down, he knows whatā€™s coming. Heā€™ll try to stay awake as long as possible, reflexively wincing away from the pain. But inevitably, his eyes will close, and he will open them again in the blood-stained halls of Kinloch Hold. Torchlight flickers over bodies, too many to count.Ā 
The light is tinted by the magically manifested curtain of his cell. A slender column holding him captive. Too narrow to do anything but kneel or stand ā€“ he canā€™t even properly sit, let alone lie down. No matter how many hours, days, nights pass, no matter how his feet and legs and back ache. He remains standing until he can bear it no longer, and then he kneels in prayer. His knees are bruised and bleeding. Heā€™s exhausted. More tired than heā€™s ever been. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he understands heā€™s still asleep, but the fatigue is just as he remembers it. He doesnā€™t recall how he ever managed to sleep, if he ever did.Ā 
His cell is round, affording him a panorama view of the carnage. Every so often, a new body will race through in an attempt to reach the stairs to Cullenā€™s right. Theyā€™re always cut down before they clear the first handful of steps. Every time, Cullen tries to warn them. Every time, his voice doesnā€™t penetrate the perimeter of his cell. He hears its echo bounce back and forth over his head, driving him mad with his own voice. Every time, the demon emerges from the shadows it hides in. Razor claws rake across torsos, drawing forth gushing red. The room is infused with the smell of blood. Fresh and stale, the stone is saturated with it. Eventually, Cullen stops smelling it. But as tortured with guilt as he is over his failure to save even a single soul, watching them die is still the lesser evil.Ā 
Because when the demon is bored waiting for new victims, it amuses itself with Cullen. It knew his desires almost the instant it captured him. All his training was for naught ā€“ Desire is a powerful demon, and it read him like an open book. It cackled, mocking his boyish infatuation. It delighted in taking her form and parading around in front of him in her skin. Calling to him in her voice, whispering in his ear, while standing well out of reach. Sometimes wanting, willing. Others, screaming in pain. Spitting vitriolic hatred at him. But always beyond his reach.Ā 
He can beat his hands against the curtain of magic until they bleed, scream until his voice is raw and his throat is like cracked glass. But he will never break through it.Ā 
Until he wakes, covered in sweat and hands aching from gripping the sheets so tightly, his throat sore. Surely, he must be screaming on this side of the Veil as well, but if anyone has ever heard it, they keep it to themselves. He will wash his face with cold, clean water, drink from the canteen he keeps full at his bedside, and dress for his day.Ā 
And the next night, it will start all over again. He will try to stay awake, and then he will fail. He will try to warn his would-be rescuers, and fail. Try to escape, and fail. No matter how he tries to outrun his failures, they follow him, relentless and tireless.Ā 
Until one night, when he looks down at the blood-soaked bodies at his feetā€¦ and there is no cell to separate them. He reaches a hand out, tentatively, and meets no resistance. He steps forward, and is not repelled back. A sob escapes him before he can stop it, though he clamps his hand over his mouth to prevent more sounds from betraying him. Yet no demon appears. Itā€™s only him, and the corpses of his colleagues.Ā 
He turns to the exit, and heā€™s halfway across the room before his steps slow. Stop. He turns. His eyes travel up the staircase, stopping at the door at their peak. Thereā€™s no way out of that room, he knows. Heā€™s conducted Harrowings and Rites of Tranquility from inside that room. There is no escape but the way youā€™ve come.Ā 
There is no escape.Ā 
Step by step, his feet carry him to the base of the stairs. He watches himself climb them, as if observing from the outside. He screams at himself, pounding against the rounded wall of his cell, tries to tell him no. Turn around, run away. Escape. But itā€™s no use.Ā 
He watches the demon emerge from the shadows, claws impossibly long and razor sharp. No matter how he screams and pounds and begs. There is nothing he can do to stop whatā€™s about to come. Cullen watches his hand come to rest on the doorknob. Watches it turn. Watches the demonā€™s arm raise, and strike. He feels the burn of its claws in his flesh.Ā 
And then he wakes up.Ā 
He flexes his fingers, releases their death grip on the sheets. Rises with a struggle from the low cot given to him when heā€™d arrived at the base of the Temple of Sacred Ashes. Drinks long and greedy from the canteen. Splashes his face with cold water. And pushes aside the flaps of his tent to start another day.Ā 
Tonight, heā€™ll do it all again.

I wanted to answer this after I watched the movie again and let me tell you I LOVE THEM šŸ˜­šŸ˜­
I'm scared Marvel may not give it to us or move away from it, but pls pls pls pls pls I want them to be together
I'll try to work through each scene they share together and add my thoughts to it. Here we go, I've put together all their scenes together below

Namor meets Shuri by the bush and looks intrigued. Ramonda states that she found this place in her journey of letting go. She spent time by the water, so he kept tabs on Wakanda after Tchalla let's the world in on their secret. But I don't think he expected Shuri to be there. Then he thinks she just another princess because most of his dialogue is with Ramonda. She's being hostile and he's threatening her. But even in that exchange the only time he smirks is she Shuri points out his vibranium outfit. And from them on, his gaze switches between both of them. Knowing Tenoche uses his eyes a lot to convey emotion and add to the character. Namor is definitely curious about Shuri just as she is curious about him.
Now the next time they meet is in his cave. Where the people have been instructed to give her the royal treatment. All the Talokans are welcoming, even Namora herself, once Shuri accepts the garments she's excited to lead the way and for the only scene in the film, smiles. The first dress piece looks like a long tunic, it makes her look like a Talokan princess. I love the way that shot is set, right before she's about to meet him, she's nervous and so are we. But the moment she steps in the colour and setting are all in warm tones. It's welcoming, soft and safe. Shuri eases. Namor greets her, he looks nervous himself in a way. He tells to feel at ease and move about his space, which I feel only Namora was the only other person who has access to it. But other than that it's his room. He's writting letters or reports on his work desk. On it are two things that capture our attention, his message shell and his mother's bracelet. Which are his personal things compared to the other artefacts that are from his culture. He's painted most of the walls himself, he's an art collector, we see him inside his home.
He looks impressed when Shuri notes the date of the artefacts, where they've come from and deducing that his mother is human. Those were the bits he was supposed to tell her. He doesn't put anything as off limits in that scene, she says the bracelet is beautiful, he just hands it to her. He's narrating the story and she stops him to ask why he's sharing all of this and he states it's to get her to see why it's imperitive that the scientist needs to die, what he's got to save instead. I guess in all of that somewhere, Shuri is moved by the love he has for his people. She's genuinely trying to figure a way to fix it. She's coming with solutions, we'll keep the scientist in Wakanda, we'll give you protection, she gives him her word. But he shakes his head with a huff almost like it's a perfect deal except he's not willing to take a risk again. Shuri then says that he can keep her instead, in place of Riri and he's run out of things to say. As much as the other's trying to play a game, they both connect extremely well. It like two halves finding eachother, their conversation, arguments, adoration all flows so seamlessly.
She tells him she'll stay and see the kingdom. Which again is something I don't think he expected. So his immediate response is to say, hypothermia will attack you, your bones will be crushed, your blood will become toxic. He says it in such a way, I interpret it as the 'anti hero admiration', he spouts all this, Shuri looks at her dress, her collar bones peaking through, he says your bones will be crushed and looks at her body, both of them have been checking eachother out throughout the movie. He's saying the truth but it's also like he's saying you'll get hurt if you go out like that or I can't have you be hurt don't worry, I have a suit!
Many had pointed out saying, he's had all this planned because he's reusing the suit the scientists had worn before. But I think it's more to do with the idea of not leaving evidence behind. They can't have two scientists floating around with spear marks through them. So all the others had drowned and the ship snuck into the ocean. He would probably bring back things from the surface world to study them, he had the machine with him for a while before he dumped it in Wakanda.
So he's taking her, tells her to stay close and leads her to the portal to Talokan. Shuri's looking at everything that's happening, the ocean depths, the portal current, his vibranium key, the people, the city and everything, her focus is on what's happening around her. But he's always looking at her. Showing off his people, sneaking glances to see her reaction. Does she like it or not? He swims slowly, journeying along with her, making sure she's safe. Like you cannot tell me he didn't care, the man's not looking at anything else. Shuri watches the vibranium sun(which he built, showing her he's an innovator too šŸ˜©) rise from the building, BUT HE'S LOOKING AT HER before he turns away.
The second outfit she gets is much like the ones she wore at home, like shirts and pants. The proximity at which they're seated next to eachother in a WHOLE CAVE??? Like he's sitting so close I would believe they could nudge their knees together or bump elbows. He offers her his mother's bracelet out of sheer gratitude, I'm unable to see it as a manipulation tactic. He's a hoarder, loves his mom, loves his people, admires art, does good to his under water empire that he's single handedly leading. Someone mentioned he was a sociopath, but sociopaths don't have any regard for anyone else. So he doesn't fit there, that's not him. I believe that's he doing it because, Shuri says that she's admired what he's built and all that. I think he's moved by her words too.
But then there's an argument or misunderstanding, she tells him once again she won't stand for it if Riri is killed and nods his head in acceptance. Like he's reasoning with her, showing her everything he's got to lose. She's also talking to him about her grief, that's where the scene begins between them. Were joining them mid conversation, and he's listening to her. Comforting her. There's genuine appreciation between them. She's asking how she can let go or why things were unfair. He tells her that people die and there nothing we can do about it. That he doesn't have an answer to her questions, all if which are all valid. He says the most broken people become great leaders, not in a villain sense but listening to her grief. That the pain in her life will turn out to be good. That she young and he too has faced a lot of loss, but it's how he's looking at her. He feels her pain. HES A BLODDY EMPATH YOU CAN'T TELL ME ANY DIFFERENT. He values empathy the most.
She goes back to state she won't stand for it, killing Riri and he pauses. Now he's sharing his secret with her, his pain that needs to be healed. His fear that he is going to bury all his people like he did his mother over a couple resources. He wants to know if she's an ally or enemy to which she says it's madness and hes spitting out facts saying no one country would have spared Wakanda if it had the chance. That once the threat has been eliminated, he'll return the scientist. He says it in a manner I interpret it as he was never going to do so in the first place. But she objects to it, which is like rejecting him and his idea, his emotions flicker, but when he says the scientist will be killed and Wakanda will face war it's almost like that threat is fake and he's pleading with her. He does the KATE SHARMA EYEBROW CRUNCH. He wants her to listen to him, that Wakanda will not win in dire circumstances and then pleads BABY BURN THE WORLD WITH ME.
War happens and Shuri is now conflicted. She says it's beautiful but they're dangerous people, so when she shows up in her sun bird to fire on him, it's almost like he's a reluctant fighter with her. He's like fine, I'll do this, but stay away. He jumps away on the bridge, he does not want to fight her, but after coming to a point where she isn't giving up, he lands on the hull and damages the engine, like pushing her aside. I also find it fascinating that he's just slicing up the wings of the planes when he could have sliced through the pilot?? Especially the Dora milaje, he could have eliminated all of them at a go, they can definitely survive a plane crash.
Now from here, it's purely my interpretation and how it could have happened knowing these characters and their motivations. He bombs and floods the throne room and then it cuts to the scene of Shuri coming there and him turning to see them as he hovers above. We see Ramonda try to pull Riri to the surface but when Shuri comes there, the queen is in the water while Riri's out and far away. Ramonda could not have done that. Before Namor throws the bombs he sees Riri behind the queen. There is a lot of mother sentiment in that scene. Before it Riri asks to speak to her mother which touches Ramonda, so as Namor comes he watches the queen be protective of this girl, the very girl Shuri was fighting for and instead of plunging his spear into Ramonda he falls back smirking at Riri's presence and throws the water bombs.
I imagine that scene as Ramonda coming up for air but she breathed in a lot of water already, so she holds riri up and reminded of his own mother he helps Riri and places her on the floor but its to late to save the Queen? I don't know but it fit well knowing his love for his mother. Cause without an explanation, that scene falls flat or out of the blue, when we just spent such a long time trying to understand him. Cause when Shuri meets Killmonger, he's degrading her family but he says some important stuff. Her father was a hypocrite, true. He brother was too noble, true. Then instead of saying her mother's death or murder, he says it was her sacrifice, which again adds a whole different meaning to that scene and like we're missing a scene in between. He tells them off and moves on because if you've lived as long as he has, people die.
Shuri chants for wakanda, he still doesn't know she's the black panther. He looks up at her almost like he's tired of fighting her, tired of trying to prove his point that Wakanda will not win against Talokan. All this is happening and he faces off against Riri. He absolutely has a chance to kill her there but still doesn't. Just breaks her back boosters, pushing her away to get out the way. He looks like a deer trying to escape for the first time. He gets captured and Shuri jumps on board. It's only them and after everything he smiles while saying princess. Like hey it's you, you know me hahaha but she's raining fire. She corrects him, that she's the black panther and he's losing control. So his survival instinct kicks in and they fight.
Their fight was angsty, like all this happens and he stabs her. He falls back and for a second there's sadness on his face as he says things could have been different. He believes it, I believe it but what he doesn't expect is for her to come back. PLS THEY'RE SOULMATES. He pulls up his fist, she burns his back and gets everything she wants. He's looking at her almost like he's a second away from crying, that this death will be honourable in her hands cause she bested him, that's what I get from seeing those scenes. But Shuri thinks of past moments and the moment that she remembers of him is the same as when he tells her the origin of his name, that he is without love. THATS THE MEMORY SHE HOLDS OF HIM, THE ONE THATS IMPACTED HER šŸ˜­šŸ˜­
She asks him to yield and he remembers his mother, so he does too. Them flying on each side together as one??? Omg chills. They are the power couple, they are the moment. He leaves that set absolutely changed, he's a man in love. He's taking about her non stop in the two seconds we get. Painting a picture of her, telling his cousin not to worry that she'll comeback to him. Um Fishboy accept your feelings.
Anyway, that is my summary on their interaction and I'm crying cause I don't know when we'll get them next šŸ˜­

I just have to say how much I really love how you write Arthur šŸ„ŗ Iā€™ve probably read them all, and they match his vibe so well.
Some examples of my faves~ MC too depressed to get out of bed? Thatā€™s one of my go-to comfort fics. Midnight Impulses? Chefā€™s kiss. Truly rent free.
And so back when you had commissions open, I immeeediately hopped on itā€¦ give or take 30 minutes šŸ˜… and I was stoked to have another go-to Arthur comfort fic I could lean on.
There was a moment when I was rereading it that I kinda just ā€œhuhā€¦ I know itā€™s ā€˜Arthurā€™ saying this but really itā€™s Scum giving me really solid advice rn as the authorā€ and it broke my brain for a lil while. The same thing happened with Uncomposed Sorrows. It was kinda like a friend giving a word-hug to others who are stressed tf out.
(I may have reread Uncomposed Sorrows earlier today. I may have also gotten a lil emotional about it again. Hard to say.)
But idk, I think your ability to write great comfort fics is pretty rad. Itā€™s a special kind of empathy, and my god does it seem vulnerable (I still havenā€™t talked myself into posting any). But I can vouch for yours helping me feel better during ~the sads~. I also want to mention that youā€™re always kind and empathetic, even when itā€™s just chatting, and thatā€™s also pretty rad.

i don't know if you *want* a behind the scenes for those stories, because I understand that the disconnect of 'this is Arthur saying this' verses 'this is Scum saying this' may sort of strip some of the fun from the stories, so feel free to ignore this part:
for the 'Mc too depressed to get out of bed' fanfic, and Uncomposed Sorrows, both of those were. well, I was depressed! The bed one I was holed up in bed for a few days in an awful depression fit, and then for the other I was very, very, very frustrated at myself for being unable to write. When I get in these moods (thankfully, the first one not happening for a few years), i do try to think of my favorite characters witnessing me in such a state, or. loosely an oc. and consider how they may react and how they would help. In both of those, i imagined Arthur would know the telltale signs of depression, how awful it can get, mixed in with a few other issues. I imagined that he's likely very experienced with both as well, especially since he has ptsd.
Arthur in those served as a voice of reason I needed to hear in those moments, or the voice of distraction- some kinda reminder that things are fine, and so that's what I imagined when I was upset. and I wrote those out usually in the moment to help distract myself, and that may be why they sound very vulnerable! because I was very upset when I wrote those. writing them helped me process the emotions and accept that, well, if it was a fave chara who could relate to what I was goin through telling me these things, then it made it easier to swallow and accept.
In a way, it is also me giving advice, even if it is Arthur saying it, and in a way, it is arthur giving advice I feel like he may try to give in these scenarios.
I think i babbled a lot and made this sound confusing
I am very, very happy that these give you a lot of comfort, and i am happy the comm one does too!! I really wanted them to comfort others, so i am very happy that you're able to reread them again and it helps you feel better.

Kenma doesnā€™t know wether itā€™s appropriate to shut off the movie to listen to you ramble or what. He much prefer listening to you talk excitedly about how this movie reminded you of that one time you and Kenma baked a pie together.

Hi uuuuuhhhh can we talk abt how much of a fucker Bosie was??? I'm reading 'De Profundis' of Oscar Wilde (A letter he wrote for Alfred Douglas, aka Bosie, while he was in prision) and it's I'm not even in the half but for now Oscar has recompiled a lot of shitty things that Bosie has done to him in all of the years they've been "friends". Like. Bosie at one point, due to all the extravagances and luxuries he afforded daily WITH THE MONEY OF WILDE got him to bankruptcy. In words of Wilde, "...If I remember you that all the time we were together I didn't never wrote not even a single line-...-Mi life, while you were at my side, was completely sterile and uncreative" : Bosie freaking drained the life and inspiration out of Wilde, and all the times they were together, he couldn't focus on anything but Bosie bc if he did Bosie would get mad. Oscar was tired of getting away from Bosie just to go back to him again, he even tried to convince Bosie's mother to get him out of the country (and his mother agreed with Wilde, confirming that Bosie had the Bitch temperā„¢ of his father), but some time later Bosie begged his mother to know how Wilde was, where he was, and said that he "wanted to see him again, even though it was only once". Oscar even says something like (I won't quote bc I would probably get it bad lol) 'Every three months I would try to break our friendship, and every three months you would convince me again of being close to you, even if I know what danger you mean to me'. LIKE BOSIE LITERALLY ATTEMPTED AGAINST WILDE'S LIFE MORE THAN ONCE WTF there is one part in this letter that narrates a time when Bosie got sick, and after 5 days of Wilde taking care of him in the most endearing way, Wilde falls ill thanks to Bosie, and what did that bitch do? Go to eat at a fancy restaurant with Oscar's money while Wilde was dying in an apartment he rented. My men made Bosie promise to 'at least eat dinner with him', and when he didn't appeared at dinner time, Wilde wrote him a note remembering the promise and goes to try to sleep, but after getting insomnia due to his sickness wakes up and goes to the kitchen for some water, and there it is, Bosie, angry af with Wilde bc of the note, and fcking attackes him verbally like šŸ˜­ and not even a day after, Bosie gets into Wilde's room to make up excuses, and when Wilde just says to him to get the fuck out of his room, the bitch with Bitch temper ā„¢ once again tried to hurt him.
I'm open to opinions, I haven't finished the whole letter, but I felt like saying all of this because, of the little things and image I've got to see people have of Oscar's and Bosie's relationship, is really not mentioned all of the crap Bosie made to Oscar, and is more like "hehe Wilde was a gay gay homosexual gay who love Bosie", I mean- It's true- but still, Bosie didn't really showed affection or AT LEAST care for Wilde, and lemme quote this bc this words of Wilde narrating the time when he and Alfred met after Alfred being like three months out of the country: "When I got to Paris, your tears, spilled over and over again throughout the whole evening, that fell on your cheeks like rain while we ate first at Voisin and ate dinner after at Paillard; the unfeigned joy that you showed when you saw me, taking my hand whenever you could, like a sweet and petinent child..." Is SO beautifully sad because this is one of the only times Wilde mentions that kind of affection coming from Bosie, and also days before Bosie's father accused him from sodomy, accusation that got him in prision.
Like yeah I get it Alfred Douglas was fine af but all that crap isn't worth it for just a dick Mr. Wilde, you freaking masochistic.

hmmngmgnhmg it is, of course, impossible to choose a favourite child - but i think if i had to pick just one to talk about then it's got to be blood sugar, baby!
this fic was written in the wake of imperium: cataclysm in late november of 2022, basically because prime universe!william solaire is really really hot already and imperium!william - aside from having literally no screentime, so i can say whatever i like about him - has the potential to be hot AND evil, which for me is like the ultimate combination šŸ¤©šŸ¤©
my version of prime!william is very much a man who loves his children more than anything else - he won't let them get away with anything, per se, but he absolutely loves those two to pieces and holds his family very very close to his heart. imperium!william, then, takes that love and (as for everything in the imperium) whacks it up to eleven - so what happens then?
the solaires, for better or worse, really get the short end of the stick during catacylsm, so i really wanted to talk about what alexis and vincent's fates might have meant for william - what it might have done to him, feeling both his progenies die in such quick succession, and what that would have made him do now.
in canon, we also have that first william audio where lovely meets him for the first time - this fic is sort of my answer to that, i guess? it's never clear if they ever met in the imperium before vincent died or not, but i think it's unlikely they ever did. it also felt kind of boring to me, that they get rescued by asher but then we never hear anything about them again, so the idea of william kidnapping lovely and staging this first meeting was born!
the vibe of this fic rests quite heavily on the aesthetics of it all - the room around lovely (and william himself, now that i think about it) gets described in a way that's trying to show the reader that the house is quite old and quite expensive! things like william's gloves and handkerchief, the addition of a mantel clock, a chest of drawers, heavy curtains on the windows... all of those things are meant to suggest that we're dealing with a man who's very wealthy, and combined with lovely's restrained, confused body, there's the implication that he's also very powerful.
(obviously, we get that in the dialogue and the narration as well - william and lovely both mention the fact that he's a vampire king, and although lovely doesn't really know what that means, it's not difficult to infer that it means he's got a lot of money.)
the way that william speaks was actually not as difficult as i thought it would be to write - it's supposed to be slightly stilted, archaic, and a little bit awkward! it's referenced towards the beginning when lovely notices 'letters sticking and sliding where [they] donā€™t expect them', but that's all meant to get across the point that william a) is speaking with a noticeable french accent, b) is much, much older than lovely (by hundreds of years), and c) is much more formal in his speech than vincent was, and that lovely's used to.
in every iteration of this, lovely was always going to be tied to the bed for the whole time. while that does make for quite a nice (if obvious) reminder of the power dynamic here, there were actually two more significant reasons for having the scene play out with them stuck there: the first is that the idea of being tied to a bed has a whole load of, uh, explicit connotations that i wanted the reader to have in the back of their mind - sex and vampires kind of go together anyway, and i wanted to make william extra extra hot in this one because i think it's what he deserves and also i am an equal-opportunity vampirefucker and everyone deserves the chance to think about getting fucked by the sexy powerful rich vampire king, this is my contribution to society
the second reason is literally no more complicated than i wanted this to echo various conventions of film, specifically with an eye to horror and melodrama - our poor captured protagonist has been caught and is being tied to the railroad tracks, while our villain is busy monologuing up a storm.
(and wow, does william monologue in this one! you can probably tell that i wrote the dialogue first, and then went back in to fill in the rest - he really doesn't shut up at all...)
however, william was never going to be a purely evil character for me - i did my best to make him as sympathetic as possible, while still adhering to the conventions of the imperiumverse and making it clear that this is a world where the boundaries of socially acceptable and morally justifiable behaviour are absolutely not the same as the prime universe.
part of that is tied to that slightly laissez-faire, hand-wavey 'we're in the imperium, anything can happen' mentality that i like, but to me his attitude of 'i have to preserve anything i can of my children, anything at all just to prove that they existed' comes from a place of very deep, very tragic loss. it's an expression of desperation, of bitter regret, and of absolute and screaming grief.
this is a man who loved his children more than anything else in the world and who is not willing to let them go, and is now calmly explaining to lovely why that love justifies keeping them captive indefinitely. it makes sense to him, although he's not keeping them in exactly the same way that vincent kept them. vincent kept lovely as a food source - william is keeping them as a souvenir. he's hoping that lovely remembers vincent as fondly and as lovingly as he does.
lovely... isn't really sure if they do or not, but they're not immune to the imperium either - they were kept by vincent long enough that the stockholm syndrome had time to reasonably set in, enough that they definitely associated vincent with survival, with warmth and food and human contact, but can't quite figure out if what they're feeling is actually love. they're strangely upset that vincent never told them he had a sister, and they're surprisingly fine with the idea of getting revenge on vincent's killer. however, they know that what vincent did was, on some level, wrong - hence their confusion, and their slightly contradictory behaviour.
it's all about survival rather than affection for poor lovely, as shown by them asking william to stay ('if he leaves, thereā€™s no telling when - if ever - heā€™ll come back for you. Call it personal experience.') but also refusing the water he offers them ('Like hell youā€™re drinking anything he gives you.'). they don't trust william, but they've learnt that the best way to survive is to obey.
the ending with william trancing lovely is deliberately ambiguous - does he turn them? does he keep them as a human? it's entirely open to interpretation, but my personal version is that he keeps them human for a little bit in a sort of weird, vincent-esque way? they're kept in much better conditions than vincent had them in, but it's william's twisted attempt to emulate his son, and feel closer to him by doing things as vincent did them (hence why he calls them 'my little thrall-to-be'). then, after that, he does turn lovely into a vampire to keep them 'preserved' forever, eternally attached to him and kept in his house.
it's implied that there's some degree of attraction there, at least in a sexual sense ('You shiver slightly, but youā€™re not sure why. ā€œOh, is that it?Ā Thatā€™sĀ what you want - to be good for me?ā€ A playful smirk. ā€œYou spoil me, darling.ā€'), but the extent of that is also up to the reader's interpretation. all i'm saying is that he's hot on purpose, the long hair and the gloves were absolutely on purpose, and i don't blame you <3
my favourite favourite part of this has got to be that last dreamy bit ('Thereā€™s a house in the woods, a very long way away...') - if i remember correctly, i think i wrote that bit quite early on but saved it, because it didn't really fit the tone of the rest. it's designed to read like a closing montage sequence in a film, where the dialogue has finished and the music is coming to a finale, and i think it mostly worked...?? idk i'm just really pleased with how it turned out, especially the sensory description there! the house that lovely mentions is deliberately left unclear - you can decide whether i meant it to be vincent's or william's. i have to keep some secrets, after all šŸ„°šŸ„°

The one where... what starts as a MOTW episode about a creature named Ghouli turns into the one whereā€¦ Mulder and Scully find William.

Best: Scullyā€™s speech to William in the morgue šŸ˜­šŸ˜­šŸ˜­ - just, her expressions, the way she cries, brings me right back to the moment in 9x16 William as she cries over his crib as she tells Reyes that sheā€™s giving him up.
That line about how she should have had the courage to keep him - but I thought I was being strong, because it was the hardest thing Iā€™ve ever done - is so fascinating. This is a topic she returns to later in the season in the penultimate episode, when she says that she ran from William, and later Mulder. That it felt like the right decision in the moment because of the pain of that self-sacrifice - she thought she was being strong, that keeping him would be the selfish decision - but maybe she was being weak, was running away out of fear of intimacy and connection. Now I would argue that she was put in an untenable situation with William in season 9 (and in theory with Mulder pre-revival given the little we know of the breakup) but I also appreciate her conflicting emotions of guilt over what would be an understandable relief of relinquishing responsibility after sacrificing so much throughout the show. And then to find out that her big sacrifice didnā€™t save him, that sheā€™d failed him just like sheā€™d always feared. Ugh Scully! I just want Mulder to give her another giant hug like he does after hearing her confess this over Williamā€™s body.
Worst: I hate that William grew up into a shitty teenage boy who tricks his two girlfriends into attacking each other. Yes, he grew up with powers he doesnā€™t understand, and maybe the point is that if he had been raised by Mulder and Scully they would have been able to support him as his powers developed. But it just makes me sad that their sacrifice to give him a normal life failed, and not only is he in terrible danger again but he abuses that power and mistreats the people in his life who care about him.

Mulder playing skeptic to balance Scullyā€™s believer
Are we supposed to think Skinner has accepted CSMā€™s offer? It just doesnā€™t seem in character after all this time. He knows from the cancer arc what a deal with CSM means. Heā€™s often played along given where he was in the chain of command, but it never felt like it was for selfish reasons. Is he trying to string CSM along to find out the truth? This just seems like plot nonsense rather than any kind of character arc.
Why did we bring another experimentation program and doctor into the mix? This was already covered by episodes like 8x13 Per Manum and 9x02 Nothing Important Happened Today II.
The shot-Scully fake out feels like something they did so they could include it in a promo šŸ™„
We really gloss over the deaths of Jacksonā€™s adoptive parents - the people who raised him for 16 years - getting rid of them now that his ā€œrealā€ parents Mulder and Scully are back in the pictureā€¦
Jackson: If you donā€™t stand for something, youā€™ll fall for anything. Itā€™s a Malcom X quote, like the one they saw in his bedroom. Does it mean anything more than a tip off that itā€™s actually Jackson she spoke with? Is he trying to tell her not to fall for his projections? Or is it trying to indicate that Jacksonā€™s going off to try to do something to prevent his pandemic visions from coming true, to stand for something?
The looks on their faces as they watch the gas station surveillance tape and realize that Scully met their son šŸ˜­
Itā€™s interesting how much this episode focuses on Scullyā€™s connection to William/Jackson, with Mulder stepping back to support her. On the one hand that could be the show trying to make us think that Scullyā€™s his mother and Mulderā€™s not really his father (which I reject, CSM lies). On the other hand I think Mulderā€™s never really felt he has the right to mourn the loss of William - although we know he does, we saw his visions of a life raising him last season - because he left Scully alone to raise him in season 9. Heā€™s always deferred to her loss, she went through the pregnancy alone, she raised him for months, whereas Mulder only knew him for a few days. But DDā€™s acting is great in this episode, you can see the pain heā€™s suppressing in the small moments like Mulderā€™s expression as he makes himself look at the boyā€™s face as the body bag is zipped up. And then again in the morgue as he hugs Scully. And at the end with his hands on Scullyā€™s shoulders the longing in his face as he watches the tape of Scully speaking with William, even as the camera zooms in to focus on the bittersweet joy of Scullyā€™s reaction.

ā€ THE OBLIGATORY SPOOKY EPISODE
This could be set on a Halloween night, but whatever works! The kids find themselves in a spooky situation, maybe they decide to explore an abandoned house or get stuck somewhere and get scared because they think there are ghosts or something gfbrkfbdy this would be the kind of episode where the audience sees unlikely pairings working together after being separated from the others (imagine Madwheeler... it'd be hilarious!).
The ending would be left ambiguous. Are there ghosts in the house? Who knows šŸ‘€
ā€ OBLIGATORY VALENTINE'S DAY EPISODE
Will works on a mysterious paintings for Valentine's Day and Mike is seething with jealousy... until he realizes that the painting is actually for him. But of course Will gives him some bullshit excuse like "I wanted to celebrate our friendship because that's love too!" (valid sentiment in general but not for THEM) and good ol' oblivious Mike doesn't suspect a thing.
The others realize it's bullshit immediately.
ALTERNATIVELY Mike is used to Will and himself not receiving anything for Valentine's Day, so he decides to leave an anonymous message/some chocolates in Will's locker, but then he realizes Will's actually already received some... because we all know Will pulls a lot of bitches šŸ™ŒšŸ» so he's sad and jealous. And then Will leaves an anonymous message for him too! And maybe something makes Mike realize who the sender is and so he smiles to himself as he reads... šŸ„°
ā€ THE JOB HUNT
Steve decides to quit his job and needs the help of his friends to find a new one. Disasters ensue, and in the end he begs his previous employer to get him back ā€“ absolutely nothing changes lmao
ā€ THE FUNDRAISER
This is a must. The Party needs to get money for something important, and they come up with a ridiculous way to do it, potentially against the older teens' will gdbdbdhd I can imagine them doing something really dumb and Nancy and the others having to fix their mess before any of the adults find out. Siblings bonding episode!

A character has a secret and does whatever they can to keep the others from finding out, but one of their friends find out and they have to promise not to spill the tea and to help them. Lucas, Max and Dustin as a focus for this one would be great!
ā€ THE BABYSITTER
Someone is stuck working as a babysitter and chaos ensues. I imagine Steve as a character who does 54747473 different jobs like Miss Rabbit from Peppa Pig šŸ’€ and he just ends up at the Wheeler house because Mike's parents don't trust him. So of course Mike has to find a way to get out of Steve's sight, and well... The Party is just waiting for an excuse to wreak havoc anyway šŸ˜ˆ
They get in trouble and have to work together of course, so when the Wheelers get home they find all Mike's friends there and Steve like šŸ§šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø
ā€ SCHOOL HEIST
Max and Will have a very bad grade in a subject at school, and an important test is coming up, but neither of them are confident in their knowledge and so Will proposes to steal the answers!
Bonus points if they're not just doing it for the good grade, but also because they made a bet with the others that they wouldn't fail it lmao
Also it'd be hilarious if they got stuck somewhere and had to ask for help šŸ¤£ and El finds them but she wants to tell the truth and so in the end Max and Will have to buy her silence lmao
ā€ THE MAKEOVER
El gets asked out on a date but she has no idea what to do and Max isn't there. Luckily Nancy decides to help and gives her a makeover, but she also help her understan what she really wants and also that she doesn't have to go on a date if she doesn't want to!
So in the end they stay home and watch a movie or something gsgvdg and maybe there's a scene where El does Nancy's hair in a cute style šŸ„°

I loved the fic! The feeling of cold was kinda, I could kinda feel the cold if it makes sense, I could feel it so much I half expected Ash to mention that his fingertips were numb from the cold, cause when Iā€™m in freezing rain I tend to notice that. Iā€™m trying to say that you wrote the cold really well, the panic too? The want to feel safe and have someone, yet not quite being able to give yourself fully, but you trust the other person enough that they know you, and wonā€™t need you being able to be coherent or anything, just need you to be you and they can help you with the rest in such a moment of vulnerability- I loved the fic is what Iā€™m saying! Red trying his best, and seemingly being a bit of an anchor for Ash, something to focus on rather than the frantic desperation and cold and emotional distress. The reoccurring theme that is either Ash or Red getting kicked out, for some reason(not negative I love it, I just find it funny how so many writers love kicking swagdoons outta the house lmao) the cold, the darkness, the fact that by including Ashā€™s thoughts about the car sloshing him with water and his thoughts on it- I forgot where I was going with that but it Added. The fact that Ash keeps running, fleeing, GOING TO RED, WHOā€™S HIS EMERGENCY CONTACT??? Going from a place that no longer loves you to the place, the person, who you feel the most loved by, whom you love so dearly as well. Iā€™m rambling, but !!!! So good

YEAAH i'm really happy with how i wrote ash panicking & dissociating!! i tried to include suggestions that this dissociation has happened before and they've established a bit of procedure for it (red affirming ash's name, having a general list of things to go through like cold and hunger), enough for the familiarity of the steps to put red at ease.
my main goal going into this was to write about running away from abuse as 16-18 year olds in a practical way, realistic to the resources people might get to have at that age. ash has resources like a phone and portable battery, and red has a car, both of which are hugely useful, but that's kind of it. they're not able to magically whisk ash away into a better situation, and they have no idea what'll happen tomorrow, maybe ash can stay over, maybe he'll have to go back, at least get his legal/medical documents somehow. a lot of stories about escaping abuse aren't helpful to people in these situations because they're not accurate, even if they're feel-good.
"red trying his best" YEA!!! and he stumbles. he asks ash for nearby landmarks, forgetting that ash can probably just tell him his location on his phone, and he can't hear part of what ash said and is nervous about asking him to repeat himself when he's in such a terrible situation & state of mind. but that obvious silly nervousness helps calm ash. red supports ash not just by doing helpful things but also by simply being present and acting like himself, and vice versa.
also, i tried to include red, in his panic, scrambling for what to say on the phone, automatically projecting his traumas onto ash - he affirms that he's not going to leave, keeps talking to ash so that ash knows he's not being abandoned, etc. ash isn't very stressed over the waiting period in the way that red assumes, but red's actions do help because otherwise ash would probably panic over red's intentions or well-being and flee. red's narration grounds ash so much that he even starts to process his physical status again. they care so much about supporting each other
also note how ash only answers red's questions about where he is and not about his physical well-being!! yet red infers from that that ash is indeed cold and hungry and injured and says he's going to bring a first aid kit and snacks etc. they're familiar with each other's habits and love each other so much. "not quite being able to give yourself fully", YEA YEA YEA!! and yet they make it work. they will survive together.
YESSSS YOU FELT THE CAR METAPHOR!! my goal with the car was to indirectly explain some of the new traumas ash can't think about: the second paragraph is like a partial microcosm of what happened to him at his parents' house, which at this point ash doesn't really remember (due to dissociation), but the situation comes through from the connections his thoughts & feelings naturally make.

Hi again!Ā šŸ„°Ā Here's the second part of the gossipĀ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…Ā 
Ok so about the first movie I mentions the The Batman Vs Dracula (2005)... honestly it's probably not a scary movie at allšŸ˜‚Ā I just have a very vivid memory or watching it as a kid and being terrified of "scary" movies very since. It was on of those straight to DVD animated movies. There was to be an animated cartoon show called "The Batman" and I use to watch it ALL the time with the animated Justice Leagues. The movie was one of those like off set ones. Like you know how there was Tom and Jerry the show and then they had all the individual movies with separate plots that kinda ignore the other stuff! It was like that and since it was like a kids show movie they actually probably didn't show any violence at all I was just not a child who liked vampiresšŸ˜‚Ā The actor who actually voices Batman in the show and movie is the same guy who narrated the Curious George show so that about how kid friendly it wasšŸ˜‚Ā I mean it probably wasn't a bad movie it just scared me so bad and I've hated movies like it sincešŸ¤£Ā it took me ages to watch like Vampire Diaries or like Grimm afteršŸ˜‚
I'm gonna be honest toošŸ˜‚Ā I also only watch The Christian Bale Batman movie after starting Peaky Blinders and hearing Cillian was in itšŸ˜‚Ā Plus my dad already had it so I don't have to payšŸ˜‚Ā It was actually a good movie though! I still need to see the other two in the seriesšŸ˜‚And it defiantly have to look up Anthropoid too maybe if you think it's good! English is my only language but if Cillian's in it I can probably just watch for himšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
And ohh yes! I'd defiantly recommend some of those other movies too! Most of them are Alfred Hitchcock movies and his stuff is good (or the thrillers are)! I was even thinking a while back if trying to include in of his works in a Peaky Story I was trying to right! Did you know the first film he directed came out in 1922 (Number 13) ! It's technically on the list of lost films but be still released a good number in the 20's and 30'sšŸ˜‚Ā I wanted to get something where the reader is at the movies with Finn or Isiah and when they hear who the director is they won't stop making jokes about his last namešŸ˜‚Ā Ā 
I'll defiantly have to take a look at "The Medic" when I can too! I'm honestly not super use to reading the real person stories, I usually stick to the totally fictional character, but I'll definitely have to give it a try if you think it's good! I think I've read some of the other stories on the lists though and I remember liking them a lot!! So I'll have to look into it!
I think I may end up leaning towards Bonnie or Michael for the comedy blood dialogue story, but I still want to write for Ollie, even if it is Platonic I feel like he's appreciatedšŸ˜‚Ā He's basically to Alfie what Lizzie is to Tommy and we know how hard Tommy made itšŸ˜…Ā I can imagine Alfie being even harder to work for sometimes when he's pissed (Even if I do love the man!)
And yes! Omg! Michael changed so much even after the first two seasonsĀ šŸ„²Ā I can both understand why it happens but also I really liked like S2 early S3 Mike who wasn't totally power hungry and trying to be a mini Tommy! Even though we see bar again once I always wonder what happens to his Foster Family, or at least his Mother and Brother!Ā Ā I think if there was an episode where Mike like ran into his little foster brother who's grown up now it could have been interesting! Like it could have been cool to see how that played out if his little brother showed up one day needing help because he didn't realise mike wanted to forget them (Maybe I have a new idea nowšŸ˜‚) The first time I saw him in the pics and trailer of season six with the mustache was kinda shocking to me. Because then I saw the mustache all I could thing about was how it remind me of Inspector Campbell's (And Hitlers). And since considering what Campbell did to the family (esp. to Polly for Mike to get out of jail that one episode in S2šŸ˜­) it made me draw a parallel. It was like proof he had turned in to one of his families worst enemies and that's when I knew who was gonna diešŸ„²Ā Or like it was proof he had kinda of turned into what both his mothers never wanted him to bešŸ˜­Ā And that just struck me with how much he had changed since the start! I think Finn's character was kind of how Polly wanted Michael to turn out (At leat the part where he wasn't made for the family business) but because of all the trama he had gone though and his own inabliltiy to share his feelings or be content with what he had he kinda went downšŸ˜­Ā He really was an interesting character though and I really did like him in the very first seasons he was in! I really do wonder how he would have turned out if he had never left his foster family after first meeting the Shelby's.
It did make me laugh the other day though. I was trying to start Animal Kingdom b/c I wanted to see more stuff Finn Cole was in, and it seemed to me like it was like a Modern Day American Peaky Blinders almostšŸ˜‚Ā And then I found two more thing he was in (I'm still looking for morešŸ˜‚) and I read their synopsis. And it hit my mind that based of those 4 movies Finn Cole seems to enjoy playing Characters that start of as like the "innocent Farm Boy / Nice guy" types and slowly become more corrupted or end up becoming power hungry or the "darker bad boy running from the law" typešŸ˜‚Ā Also he seems to enjoy taking roles with characters in difunctional Families, and don't get my wrong he plays those characters very very well (like the empty stare he did as Mike sometimes was creepy!) but I kinda want find something with him in it where I don't have to prepare myself for someone to die or murder someone every few episodesĀ šŸ˜‚
And that you for your kind words about your inbox being openšŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ’•Ā They really make me smile!šŸ„°šŸ„°šŸ„°Ā I may have to do the thing you mentioned with a side blog or another one! That's so nice of youā¤ļøā¤ļøĀ Your so great!!ā¤ļøĀ I feel a little bad every time you say it's open but I still kinda hidešŸ˜‚šŸ˜­Ā My anxiety has been getting better tough! And it's ok about the music too! One of my friends ended up finding a hurricane playlist on Spotify and I didn't realize how many songs there were referencing hurricanesšŸ˜‚Ā Once the lights went out we played Uno in the dark with only a small lamp to see our cardsšŸ˜‚Ā it was actually fun and a good distraction! We also played Cards against Humanity enrich went how you may expect it to go with a bunch of college studentsšŸ˜‚

Interview with a vampire is a must then, I know I watched that one a looong time ago! You know just about two years ago I was able to watch that Halloween film (sorry I forgot the name) where Angelica Houston is a witch and she and other witches get together in a hotel and they all turn into horrible women and then put a spell on two kids who saw them and turn them into mice? Oh donā€™t worry dear, I didnā€™t know it was Cillian until later hahaha because he looked kind of different as Dr Crane huh? Yeah! Michael was a good kid, but he got carried away and like you said he tried to become a mini-Tommy and that messed him up, who knew things would end up like they did ? Right? Itā€™s one of those things we got stolen from the show,like his adoptive mother forgot about him? They never crossed paths again? (Why does this sounds like a plot for a fic? šŸ˜‚), ugh the mustache was horrible! šŸ˜³ hmm I see what you mean there, havenā€™t thought about the resemblance between Michael and Campbell until you mentioned it! Itā€™s sad the way his character turned out, all of that frustration and anger towards his own blood? He had a good life, but wellā€¦ heā€™s gone šŸ˜‚ . She practically raised Finn! Another sad story, the poor boy doesnā€™t feel like he belongs thereā€¦ and made mistake after mistake.
Oh is it good? Never seen it, but I think I remember watching some advertising for it in some channelā€¦ hahaha howā€™s the search going? I donā€™t think I have seen anything else from his work, I just know Ada (Sophie Turner) did another series but it was canceled later. Hmm really? That sucks! The poor guy will get stuck into that kind of characters and the.
