Every single SWTOR Republic mission
Game: Alright, the Sith are planning to attack Corellia's shipyard. We've known this for at least weeks now and thus had plenty of time to prepare.
Me: Great! Sounds fun, so let's get on with the battle.
Game: BUT WAIT!!!!! The Empire's attacking civilians you'll never see, meet, or hear from ever again! And the ONLY WAY to help them is to let the Sith blow up a bunch of Republic ships and endanger the whole war effort!
Me: Seriously, again with this? How many freaking times are we going to contrive this dilemma? Can I just fight a battle normally for once?
Game: But you don't understand! Darth Malgus' last plan was so feeble and pathetic we need to force some kind of victory for him to brag about when you confront him later!
Me: But this is the most predictable plan he could've possibly used. How on earth can the Republic have not seen this coming? And wait a second, if we knew about this attack in advance why didn't we evacuate the civilian populace? Heck, Correllia's been the frontline of the whole war so far, aren't there shelters, orbital cannons, shields, anything?
Game: Nope, the whole thing's completely undefended and the Republic put all their Navy on one side of the planet and didn't take advantage of the opportunity Malgus stupidly dividing his fleet would create.
Me: For crying out loud, why is every superweapon, military advantage, and resource the Republic finds locked behind one of these dilemmas while the Empire just gets to crap out new ones every other week?
Game: Uhh...
Me: The Null Cannon, the Barrager, special droid designs, the Powerguards... Can we just get one for once without some contrived reason for why that'd be the dark side option? Heck, why are we even doing yet another "defend against the Empire" mission? They never matter anyways because every time you cripple them they somehow just spawn another giant army out of nowhere. Five years ago they were almost crippled completely, can we go back to that? How about the Republic attacks them for once. I want to liberate some Imperial worlds, how about it?
Game: Nope, just the same old dilemma over and over again. Are you going to yet again let the Empire win or be a bad mama jama and let the civilians who should've been evacuated and that you'll never hear from again die?
Me: ... Whelp, I think that's enough SWTOR for the year.

Bad SWTOR choices
I accidentally reblogged and replied on a post I didn't mean to, but I did want to talk about this - how many times the LS/DS choices in SWTOR and particularly KOTFE and KOTET seem completely off base. Top four: The reactor in KOTFE chapter 3.
Okay, to recap: the Outlander has just been freed from carbonite, where they were slowly being poisoned to death. They are doing so poorly that Lana has to help them walk at some points. They are on a planet they know nothing about. There's a nuclear reactor Vaylin has ripped from its moorings, and the actual nuclear physicists who tend to the thing have given up on it. So of course it's perfectly reasonable to expect the half-dead Outlander to fix it, and to treat them like a monster if they make the sound decision to not try to learn nuclear physics in two seconds.
Better decision: give the Outlander a choice to try to help people evacuate and make that LS/DS. That would still fit with Koth's desire to help people and could still be used to influence his opinion of the Outlander, but would be more realistically and logically in line with what could be done. Since nobody knows what the Outlander looks like at this point it could also be used to create more conflict/nuance for Zakuulans. They've been told the Outlander is a monster but - this person who looks just like the Outlander saved them. Could Arcann be lying to them?
Senya in KOTET chapter 1.
So the planet of Voss is being bombed to pieces, and Senya doesn't give a single fuck about that. She just wants you to save her son, the dictator. Who has shown zero remorse and has literally run the Outlander through with a lightsaber. Your two choices: let Genocidal Dictator Boy join the Alliance and work right alongside the people he's actively tried to murder, or refuse and be considered a monster. Choices, choices.
Better decision: Refuse to save, imprison for war crimes, save, save without joining Alliance. All of which should be neutral. They could have even branched this off further - does Arcann go off to atone through his actions of trying to help rebuild? Do you just let him flee and become a ghost? Is he turned over to the factions and put in jail? Or do you execute him?
SCORPIO in KOTET chapter 5.  HOW many times has SCORPIO lied to you, tried to do away with you and otherwise caused extensive trouble? Bonus for Imperial Agents, how many times in the class story did she casually mention she eventually wants to murder you? Of course, by all means, let her merge her consciousness with the homicidal cyberplanet who has just tried to murder you and has horrific weapons at its disposal. I'm sure no harm could come from that. After all she promised she won't bother you. It's not personal.
Better choices: - Let SCORPIO merge with the promise of helping you destroy the faction of your choice later (DS - hey, I SAID it's a dark side choice so let's go for the goalpost with it) - Kill SCORPIO (neutral), - oho, what's this? You've been able to completely neutralize SCORPIO and contain her in the Gravestone with the super special top secret program Doctor Oggurobb has been working tirelessly on for months since you learned SCORPIO wasn't dead?? Whoohoo! Victory without death! (LS).
Dramath in KOTET chapter 7.
Because you haven't been subjected to Valkorion's family enough, here comes Daddy Dramath. Who is imprisoned in a holocron in a max-security basement crypt and swears, up and down, that he will go away and not bother you if he's set free. I mean, you have so many reasons to take Family Valkorion/Tenebrae at their word, right? It's not like this could be a malicious Force ghost. You've never run into any of those, nope. And it's not like you're on a planet that has been corrupted into something terrible in the Force (or lack thereof) which might make it even more dangerous to release ghosties you meet.
Better decision: - Free (LS), - Keep - but swear to release after you've defeated Valkorion and keep that promise(LS), - Imprison and tell Dramath he's your servant forever, mwahahaha (DS). Let that be the differentiating factor in whether he helps you or not in KOTET 9.

Lowkey weirded out by fanart of Vette and Malavai (Star Wars: The Old Republic) being BFFs. I know I'm the #1 Quinn simp but the canon choice for my character is being an ass to him until he proves to me he won't betray me again and that he can be de-programed from his fascist bullshit (Yeah I know I'm a naive moron for believing in the "I can change him" rethoric but I can have some leeway in a videogame).
Like I'm all for stories when someone raised in a culture of authoritarianism changes for the better but I feel like making a former slave and a former fascist captain an "BROTP dynamic" It's a disservice to both of them. Beguiling respect maybe but they being the "grumpy and sunshine one" feels...wrong
It reminds me of people shipping Zutara. It's not necessarily wrong but you have to take into account the implications of the colonization of the Fire Nation inflicted in the Water Tribe and how that plays out in the relantionship. Because skipping that part comes across as you not caring about it

I can’t believe that ChatGPT ripped off pieces of my fanfic Blood Tribune. So, I’m going to post it below the cut and then let y’all read it. I’ll post my commentary of what I think the computer stole from me after the cut.
The CHAT GPT Rip Off of Blood Tribune
Title: "Sith Pureblood Chronicles: Bloodlines of Korriban"
Chapter 1: Echoes of the Past
Centuries have passed since the fall of the Sith Empire, and on the remote world of Korriban, the Sith Purebloods have carved out their own independent civilization. Shielded from the prying eyes of the galaxy, their society thrives in secrecy. Led by the Council of Blood, a ruling body of ancient Sith Lords, the Sith Purebloods embrace their heritage and continue their pursuit of power through the dark side of the Force.
Chapter 2: The Hidden Citadel Deep
within the catacombs of Korriban lies the Hidden Citadel, a sacred stronghold where the Sith Purebloods conduct their rituals and train in the ways of the dark side. Aspiring Sith warriors, such as the protagonist, Ardan, strive to prove themselves and earn a place among the elite. Ardan, born with potent Force sensitivity, carries the weight of his family's legacy and seeks to unleash his full potential.
Chapter 3: The Path of Ascendancy
Ardan embarks on a treacherous journey to master the Sith arts. Under the guidance of his enigmatic mentor, Darth Veritus, he learns to harness his anger, fear, and pain, channeling them into raw power. Alongside his fellow Sith acolytes, Ardan faces grueling trials and duels, testing not only his combat prowess but also his resilience and cunning.
Chapter 4: Shadows of Intrigue
While the Sith Purebloods enjoy a tenuous peace within their civilization, darkness looms on the horizon. An ambitious Sith Lord, Darth Maldera, plots to overthrow the Council of Blood and seize control of Korriban. Manipulative and ruthless, Maldera's actions threaten to unravel the fragile balance that has kept the Sith Purebloods united for centuries. Ardan finds himself entangled in a web of political intrigue as loyalties are tested and alliances are forged.
Chapter 5: Forbidden Knowledge
As Ardan delves deeper into the mysteries of the Sith Purebloods' past, he uncovers a hidden archive containing forbidden knowledge. The ancient texts reveal the secrets of forgotten Sith rituals, lost techniques, and untapped sources of power. Ardan becomes consumed by the desire to unlock these ancient arts, even if it means challenging the Council's authority and risking the wrath of Darth Maldera.
Chapter 6: The Battle for Korriban
The tension between Darth Maldera's faction and the Council of Blood escalates into open conflict. Ardan must choose a side, torn between loyalty to his heritage and his own quest for personal growth. The Sith Purebloods' civilization becomes a battleground as rival factions clash, unleashing devastating displays of Force power. Ardan's choices will not only shape his own destiny but also determine the future of the Sith Purebloods. Epilogue: Legacy Reborn After a cataclysmic clash between Darth Maldera and the Council of Blood, the Sith Purebloods stand at a crossroads. Ardan emerges as a pivotal figure, leading the remnants of his people towards a new era of unity and strength. Guided by the lessons of their tumultuous history, the Sith Purebloods reaffirm their commitment to the dark side and forge a path towards greatness.
"Sith Pureblood Chronicles: Bloodlines of Korriban" explores the rich and complex society of the Sith Purebloods, delving into their customs, politics, and spiritual beliefs. It is a tale of power and ambition, highlighting the eternal struggle for dominance within a civilization consumed by the dark side. As Ardan navigates the treacherous landscape of his people, he must confront his own demons and ultimately decide the

SWTOR Revan is actually a really underrated, good critique and refutation of the "Grey Jedi": He tells the PC that he's totally in balance with the Force and offers a new perspective of the Force.
Except that he says that line in the middle of war factory that is mass producing extermination droid that are the centerpiece of his plan to exterminate literally 97% of the population of the Sith Empire.

There’s quite a few points in the Consular story where it’s honestly really hard for me to determine what Aria would do, and sometimes the answer is a WEIRD one. This bit on Taris is one of ‘em.
So, you’re offered a choice between saving this woman, Laria (Light-side) and saving the Jedi holocrons with a bunch of medical data that could save “thousands” of lives - supposedly (Dark-side). I always thought Aria would be the “pick to save the holocrons” gal but strangely enough after agonising on the decision for a few minutes....I ended up concluding she’d save Laria. NOT out of the goodness of her heart though (sorry Laria, I like you pfft🤣) but rather because, well...on one hand, Darth Noctis (her father) would certainly have interest/be invested in getting his hands on those holocrons full of information he might be able to eventually use to his advantage. But on the other...letting the holocrons explode means the Jedi don’t have access to them either. Considering Aria’s whole schtick is “sabotage the Jedi from the inside out so that by the time we hit Tython at the end it’s almost a clean sweep” I feel like objectively it makes sense for her to “choose” Laria over the holocrons in this instance.
It’ll be really interesting from my perspective to see where else in this story she ends up choosing the “Light-sided” dialogue options except in Subterfugeverse canon it will be entirely for fucked up and selfish reasons so, you know, objectively it is NOT a light-side choice at all for that reason. 🤣😛

One time I accidentally took double my nightly dose of zoloft. The next morning, at first it felt pretty nice. There would have been more problems had it not been a weekend. I immediately felt that my emotional range was stunted. I put off finishing a story heavy video game until the next day. But I felt like I was wrapped in my favorite blanket all the time.
Then as the day wore on, I didn't enjoy it as much. It was harder to think and I felt like there was a barrier between me and the world. Then I had a revalation, the experience was hitting basically every anti-medication stereotype there is about antidepressants. People who do actually experience that on medication- it's because the dose is too high for them, but not high enough to cause serotonin syndrome. That's what having too much serotonin feels like.
Now I don't think the solution for many of those people is/was trying a dose even lower than the default starting dose. My depression/aniexty is very biochemical. Puberty gave me alexithymia and I just had to finish it to get better. When PMDD causes my serotonin dysfunction to become depression, I can feel my brain making up reasons to justify the way I feel. But for many people, that isn't the case. For depression caused primarily by current or past abuse, trauma, or a general shitty life situation- no wonder stopping the uptake of serotonin just puts them in the state of sub-syndrome too much serotonin. The neurotransmitters aren't the problem.

Saw some people get asked what their controversial SWTOR takes are.
Here’s mine.
1) Gault should have been a love interest.
2) Skavak or Rogun should have joined the Smuggler crew.
3) Spacing Corso should have been an option.

By far, I think the stupidest thing SWTOR's ever done storywise (and there's a LOT to pick from) has to be the time they made killing SCORPIO a dark side decision. Like she has any redeeming qualities whatsoever that'd make it wrong to kill her.
This glorified tablet backstabbed the Alliance and seized control of the Eternal Throne. If she had a single iota of decency in her she could've done anything from ending the war to freeing the GEMINI while simply telling them not to keep oppressing the masses. Instead what she does she do?
She puts Vaylin the psychotic lunatic who even Valkorian was scared of in command and does everything she says, including bombing entire planets.
Oh and she gave Arcann the Alliance's position too, but feel bad for her because the writer's robot waifu wants to be free :(
Listen game, I don't care that the tin can says she wants to be "free" because she spends the whole rest of her screentime bragging that she already has free will. So, knowing her she's probably lying about that anyways.
Also she pulled the same old, "you can't destroy me because you need me to X" like six different times over the course of three missions. So, rather than a genius supercomputer she comes across more like a defective computer stuck on a line of code.
I always play light side characters and I happily chose to kill her right in front of her precious dream of controlling a planet. Like anyone should ever trust her with that.

It's weird, since walking away from SWTOR I've more or less fallen out of love with Star Wars in general. I think part of the frustration is that unlike Star Trek and other space stories where they actually strive for peace and progress - Star Wars is always just that. Nothing gets better, no matter what the characters do. It gets depressing. And the more you see the lore, the more you realize they've been on this same hamster wheel for millennia.
In SWTOR, the fact that your character just went back to being a faction lackey and mindlessly killing the other side after working so hard for peace, grey areas of understanding, etc. was depressing. What the fuck was the point, even? I do think the original three films still stand alone because you get a really good story on atonement, the Little Guy winning and the Power of Friendship, without the fucked up lore. I'll always like SWTOR pre-Onslaught and the EU. The rest of it? I think Disney's: - complete abandonment of the far better EU, lore and characters,
- insistence that the people who deliberately estrange kids from their families and press them into military service for life, and look the other way about slavery are the Good Guys! - what they did with the sequels (ie. abandoning Rose's character; being too weak to go for the Finn/Poe romance and claiming a two second kiss in the background was "LGBT rep," what they did to Luke, and don't get me started on how much I hate K**o Re*) have been enough. I've had no desire to see anything beyond the first season of The Mandalorian.

ok in my grand canon soll'ivi'xin holds a permanent role as ascendancy liaison to the alliance. shes remorseless in accomplishing her aims and does not mourn who or what suffers for it - which is how she progressed up through the ranks of the ascendancy military.
her side project to her official duties is locating and recovering trafficked and enslaved chiss children and youths and returning them to the ascendancy. bcuz cruel women are multifaceted <3
