#anti-climax

Quote
For some in the St James's Street offices of the Security Service, the final weeks of the war, when they were no longer faced with any serious threat to national security, were an anti-climax. Hugh Astor, formerly the highly motivated case officer of BRUTUS and other double agents who had played a key role, found himself becoming bored as his case-work ran down. So did Guy Liddell, who wrote in his diary on 4 May: 'The end of the war is falling rather flat, and VE Day is undoubtedly going to be a colossal bore, with no food and no transport. The only thing to do is to tie a Union Jack to the bedpost and go to bed.'

Wistfulness (33/34)
Tumblr media
James quickly pulled his phone from his back pocket. The text he wrote was still on the screen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“This is very much none of my business,” Dante said as James put his phone back in his pocket, “But I accidentally saw what you wrote when I picked up your phone, and I think if you miss her this much, you should send it. Let her know."
Tumblr media
"I’m only saying that because I had to miss many people in my life and I can’t tell them. So if you can, please tell her while you still have the chance.”
Tumblr media
James shook his head, “It’s a bit more complicated than that…” “I’m sorry,” Dante said, “I’m sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong…”

as much as I enjoy referring to the end of flux as a triple genocide, it annoys me when people take it completely seriously bc. that's not. what it is. by the time they have control of the lupari fleet, the daleks and cybermen fleets have already been consumed (and it's not like the daleks and cybermen were wiped out, anyway), and not saving the sontarans was. necessary. the doctor didn't have the passenger plan at that point, she needed as much matter as possible - and 13 has a history of doing to her enemies what they do to their victims. she's as merciful as they are, but where the sontarans were willing to let trillions of innocents be wiped out, she used the sontarans' fleet - and when that didn't finish it off, she used the lupari fleet, and when that didn't work, she used passenger. the endgame of flux is a series of desperate ploys, one after the other, in the forlorn hope that one of them will work.

I'm losing all my senses every night Darlin', don't you know that I die every night for you? And I don't want to want somebody new Darlin', don't you know that I die every night for you? I cry for you
Ok so I’m going to keep practicing with making and editing gifs, this set was inspired by four different things...
1.) @docharmoni  reminded me how much I love the moment when the TARDIS interface shows him Rose.
2.) Die for you by Léon is a song I’ve associated with DoctorxRose since I heard it, honestly quite a few of her songs I associate with them haha. I really wanted to make gifs for the lyrics << I say, "Couldn't we just have one more before we go?” Don't wanna go >> b/c to me that’s Ten seeing Rose right before he regenerates but alas I was also trying to stick with an ElevenxRose theme.
3.) @jacks-the-flower  your recent post about Eleven “wanting to be the man the love of his lives chose” had me in my feels and it was in the back of my mind as I made this. I could see the Doctor being happy for Rose getting to be with Tentoo as he could grow old with her, but on the down low still a bit bitter about it 🤣 🤣
4.) I just love the idea of Eleven and Rose so much lol

Devilman sequel manga are so funny because they all have these tad bits of good but then are mostly just fucking awful
Shin Devilman is good tho except for the first chapter who asked for Hitler's sympathetic backstory sobbing

The thing with the ily speech is idc how genuine it was or whether she believed it but I will tell you that she was motivated by Max choking or something else I can't think of because all I know is she did not have that arc just to need to be empowered by a man in order to fight.

About people blaming Ochako for not "listening" to Toga, that's largely the fault of a Tumblr user named [Omitted]. A lot of the LoV fans' arguments originated from [Omitted], because she's the one who keeps insisting that villains are just victims of society. So the hatred of Ochako is [Omitted]'s doing, because she's the one who constantly argues that the heroes are (at best) tone-deaf for holding villains accountable. And she insists her position is Morally and Intellectually Complex (TM).
--
Forgive me for doing it this way anon, but I’m not here to attack other users, nor do I want to send others after them. It is nice to know where all this originated from, however. She is entitled to her opinion just as I am to mine. Whether we agree is inconsequential.
My stand is that while the villains are sympathetic to a point, they should still be held accountable for their own choices.
At this point, the heroes aren’t being “tone-deaf” they’re trying to stop a bunch of terrorists from destroying a city and getting a bunch of people killed.
Once they’re stopped, then you ask why they did what they did and hear their side when people aren’t in danger. That’s why trials and juries exist. Are they victims? To a point, yes. But they’re also attackers, and that point should not be forgotten.

It also helps to explain better why Ridley's boss fight in Super Metroid became an anti climax boss fight. Because in Metroid II Samus Returns his body became so weakened by the baby metroid, Ridley resorted his boss arena to be as claustrophobic as possible to compensate for his worf had the flu syndrome. He was hoping to beat Samus Aran in close combat yet failed to realize she has level grinded enough power ups and energy tanks to make quick fodder out of him. Ridley hanging on his last life.
Ridley has 18000 hit points.
Ridley deals 40 / 80 / 160 damage with his body, 30 / 60 / 120 damage with his tail, and 15 / 30 / 60 damage with fireballs, to Gravity Suit / Varia Suit / Power Suit Samus, respectively.
Similar to Mother Brain's bombs, a single fireball volley can damage Samus multiple times, or not damage Samus at all, depending on how Samus comes into contact with it.
I wouldn't say that my man was hit by the Worf Effect :')
