Rumortracking Anon, here’s my take vis a vis Hazno(fill-in-the-blank) on the broad timeline of BP’s announcement that KCIII has cancer. We were told that cancer was discovered during KCIII’s benign prostate surgery, and that it was “in a different part” of his body. It’s quite common for undiagnosed malignancies to be discovered in this way (a good thing). It could be in another part of the genitourinary system (eg, the bladder), was detected via scope through that organ system, and biopsied. It could be hematological and have been detected via bloodwork. We just don’t know. However, as with all suspected cancers, it would have to be confirmed by pathology testing, which usually takes 7-10 days, depending on which tests are required. 
IMHO, KCIII and Camilla were informed of the potential cancer immediately after the prostate surgery was completed, and then William and Anne (at least) were informed soon thereafter. They all still had to wait for over a week for pathological confirmation, during which time they kept it 100% private. Once they had confirmation, and a treatment plan/schedule was finalized, only then did BP make an official public announcement - necessary because KCIII would be immunocompromised from treatment (whether chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy) and would have to cancel public appearances.
They waited to tell H in California until just a few minutes before BP released the public announcement. That way, he (ie, Meghan) had zero time to leak the news to Scooby Doo the press. In other words, H found out 7-10 days AFTER KCIII, Camilla, William, and Anne (and others as well) knew. Even on the very slight chance that H/MM wouldn’t have leaked (as if lol), H still would’ve hopped on a plane to London pronto, alerting the press anyway that something was amiss.
Harry truly has been PNG’d by the BRF. He’s out of the royal loop, totally ostracized. Never again will they be able to trust him - with anything - and he did it completely to himself. No family secrets, no intimate family holidays, no impromptu meetings with KCIII or William, they don’t even trust him to stay overnight at a royal residence anymore…“go to a hotel, Harold.” Where’s Shakespeare when one needs him? Imagine the play (a history? a tragedy? a comedy? all three?) he could write of this royal saga! It would have to be in 3-15 parts, though.

All of this tracks and makes sense to me. I do agree that Harry was called at the last possible moment. Another anon and I were discussing earlier tonight the speculation that Meghan was leaking to Scobie/other reporters about the Queen’s illness and her death before the family was ready, and the family was later made fully aware. So in that case, it is completely believable that the BRF waited until just before the news dropped to avoid the same scenario. Could you imagine the panic that would have been if someone other than the official BP spokesperson announced the King had cancer? I mean, there was plenty of panic when it was under BP’s control.
And you’ve just reminded me of something - Charles ended up stayiing an extra day at the hospital. I think he was originally meant to leave Saturday/Sunday, but instead he left on Monday. At the time, I had thought Charles delayed his departure so as to distract the gathered media so Kate could leave unnoticed. Now, however, I wonder if the extra day was so his doctors and care team could do some additional testing.
And really, who needs Shakespeare when South Park is available? 🤣🤣

911 season 7 episode 4!! we've arrived!!
the only reason that i understand this long opening section is playing on the bachelor is that i've watched jarvis johnson talk about it before. thank you jarvis johnson.

i mean, admittedly i've never seen a single episode of the bachelor firsthand, but it seems to me like they'd LOVE for something like this to happen. nobody got seriously hurt, it's extremely dramatic and big, lots and lots and lots of free press - what could be better for reality tv?

(specifically, a reference to "you can be my wingman any time."/"bullshit. you can be mine.", as in, this right here.) we all agree on that, right? i've never seen anyone mention it, but that might just be because i only really see 911 content when it happens across my dash, so. we do agree? because. buck&eddie first bonding moments related to top gun.... buck&tommy arc starting with top gun basketball..... i'm just saying. i am. just saying.

So I’ve played about 35 different games, mostly one shots. I’ve had the benefit of playing with people I trust which can greatly influence game play. Below I’m going to include the full list of games with brief descriptions, but favorites first.
I definitely prefer non-traditional, narrative, and gmless games, so that will be a running theme.
Tales From the Loop has to go first because it’s the game that made me fall in love with ttrpgs. This game has Stranger Things vibes. You play a preteen in the 80s in a town where weird shit is constantly happening. This game is more on the traditional side. There’s a GM running the story, you roll for skill checks, there’s probably a specific story playing out that your gm will try to hook you on to. This game uses only 6 sided dice. There is a sequel listed below for teens in the 90s.

Fall of Magic is a narrative rpg with at most 3 dice rolls in the entire game. FoM is played on a beautiful, handmade map. Your characters progress through the cities on the map as you collaboratively tell the story of your journey to the birthplace of magic. Every city on the map has locations in it with a narrative prompt. Each player decides what location to visit and acts a scene at the location answering the prompt. Anything you say becomes true. There are no rolls. Nothing makes me want to write an epic fantasy more than a good game of Fall of Magic

Pasión De Las Pasiones is a PBTA game, which is one of my favorite systems. In it you play a character from a long-running telenovela. I suggest only playing with a gm familiar with the genre who can do justice to the setting. There’s lots of scandal and intrigue. In fact one of the possible characters to play is the secret evil twin of any of your fellow players. PBTA gamesone are closer to traditional with dice rolls and a gm, but emphasizes the narrative more. Rolls are based on you committing to certain tropes and are boosted by narratives rather than any sort of character skills. (I also suggest checking out other PBTA games.)

A Quiet Year is a map drawing game. All you need to play are a deck of cards, a printout of what the cards mean, and drawing materials. You tell the story of a community rebuilding after a harsh winter, answering prompts from the cards for each week of the year. As you build the village and create the story, you draw a map to show all you have done. No artistic skill is necessary. You do not play a character in this game. There is no gm. There are no dice rolls. This is the map from my last game. (I prefer to use wrapping paper for more space)

Dialect is a language building game in which you collaboratively make up new words that become completely normal to you through play. You play as members of an isolated community of any sort (lost mars colonies, online message boards, a thieves guild) which breaks down over the course of the game. You play out the evolution and eventual dissolution of your joint language. Each turn comes with a prompt for which you create a word and then play a scene. This is great as a stand-alone but I love the idea of using it as worldbuilding for a larger campaign.

can you do that criticism/things youd change about scream queens for s2 alone?
This one's probably going to be messy because I have a LOT to say about S2. Some of it overlaps with others, and I also have some positive things I will never miss a chance to talk about.
As always, when I do things like this, I'm saying it right here: There is not a single SQS character I genuinely dislike. The retcon is not canon.
And a quick note, I've talked about a lot of this stuff with my buddy @sarahpaulsonsclown, so credit to them for something I say about Cassidy later.
The first- and the cause of a lot of other things- problem with S2 is the tone change from S1.
Tell me I'm exaggerating, but S1 blended the comedy and horror in a way that worked and came across naturally as if they weren't doing it on purpose, and it just happened to be 50/50.
Season two writes the comedy in completely on purpose, but it doesn't focus enough on or bring in enough of the horror to balance it out, so it comes across more "artificial," I guess than S1's whole tone did. It just doesn't blend the way S1 did because there's not enough of the horror kept around this time.
And that's a shame! Because when S2 does switch to more of the horror side of things, it WORKS. There are scenes here that carry the horror really well, and had the whole season had more of a tone like this, the comedy could've been balanced out better.
One of my biggest examples of this is when Zayday first confronts (and gets kidnapped by) Jane. The music, the weather part of setting the scene, and the lighting. (Although I really wish they'd not have used Sophia's gold for Jane and Cass so often, given they're the least linked to Gigi in S2. I'll come back to this.)
Even the scenes where the girls first start visiting Hester before she's moved to the hospital can be a good example. Those scenes have their little comedy moments, but they're serious scenes, and the characters are treated seriously in them.
This tone issue starts disrupting things in later episodes though, and I'll come back to this later talking about other things, but Addison's (Chanel Number Nine's) death was so off-tone and so mean-spirited given how we spent half this episode being introduced to her extreme fear of needles, and this was such an awful death for her to be given. She didn't even do anything! S2 carries an issue with not having enough horror to balance out the comedy, and then they just threw in a death like this??? What did she do?? Still not quite comparable to how Maggie was treated in AHS, though.
When it comes to character issues caused by both tone problems and other things, I'm going to start with Brock because he's going to be the simplest to talk about.
A problem with S2 is the pacing in the last few episodes especially and the more I rewatch (S2 gets put on loop a lot when I'm writing for reasons I will talk about later) the more this can be blamed on Brock's silly hand issue.
For one thing, Brock's hand is stupid in itself, and it doesn't fit with SQS's original tone at all. This does not work, and it's not helped by the way they do the stupidest things possible, focusing on it as if Brock wasn't originally introduced as just an off and less-lovable version of Chad.
They spend SO MUCH TIME on Brock's ridiculously inconsistent issues that don't fit with SQS's original tone, including letting him narrate a whole fucking episode and naming multiple episodes after his hand problems and giving the hand a goddamn voice actor that when they finally dropped it the pacing was already SO thrown off that they didn't have any time left to stretch other things out the way they could've/should've.
Munsch's illness plotline (which is also mildly inconsistent but not nearly as much as the hand stuff) was so rushed near the end of the season, and (Thank you to @nocakesformissedith for noticing this too, if I remember correctly) Lovin' The D's ending with that "I'll be dead in a month" line is so oddly sudden because they had to shove a bunch of stuff into the other half of the episode that should've been stretched through the whole season, and then Drain The Swamp spends more time scrambling to wrap up Munsch's plotline so she can leave alive and well by the season-ending narration instead of building up to a climax between the villains (who, this time, are ALL STILL ALIVE) and the girls.
Brock's issues with his hand are inconsistent, even in how it affects him. One minute he's just losing control of it every so often, then it acts up when he's stressed, and then we get to how he treats Chanel.
The first time his hand acts up around her, it's pretty in line with how we are introduced to it without confirmation when Zayday first meets him and Cass, but as the season goes on, not only does he consistently threaten her, but he yells at her each time he does and then in the later episodes- when he already has a new hand, courtesy of Cass's favor- is when he starts using both hands when snapping at her and Hester takes her interest in him. And him yelling when he smashes the table when Munsch questions him about his blood type doesn't work with this either because that is not how his hand is introduced!
By Drain The Swamp also, he's having no troubles with his hand at all, and while yes, this is his new hand, it is this hand that continued with his "kill Chanel" stuff.
More of an opinion this one, but if he continued to snap at Chanel, Hester shouldn't have trusted it, and while I'm reaching with this detail, the way she reacts when he grabs her to try calming her down when asking him to kill Munsch during surgery is some good fuel for how they could've gone with Hester's opinion of him. I'll come back to this later because it links into a theory of mine I've had for a very long time.
And no, him reaching for her neck vaguely in Scream Again doesn't entirely count as foreshadowing any of this later behavior because even there, he notices and pulls his hand away with the other. Also, Chanel was clearly a little uncomfortable with the way he was reaching for her there too, but that's a little note/nitpick of mine, given how their relationship goes through the season.
And before I move on to other characters: S2's crack in the timeline.
In Scream Again, when she's narrating to catch us up, Munsch says she hasn't thought about the Chanels for two whole years. S1 canonically stuck firmly in 2015. Later, Brock says Chanel is twenty-four. Chanel was either nineteen or somewhat recently twenty in S1. In Drain The Swamp, when Chanel is narrating the flash-forwards, she says it is canonically 2016. If I'm wrong about this not making sense, then blame it on my dyscalculia, but this is just a nitpick I've had for a while anyway.
Back to problems I have regarding the character writing of some in S2, starting with the ones I have the most to complain about: Jane and Cassidy.
My problem with Cassidy especially comes from how he isn't treated seriously by the writing, and when he is, it doesn't work. I know what they were trying to do because they wanted Cass to be three things:
Boone, through his conflict with Jane, which goes especially and mostly for how he interacts with his mom when we first find out he's her son. The "I'll take care of everything," - "After all you've been through," lines especially.
Pete, given this moment is a direct reference to Black Friday (Yes, I got that moving shot on purpose):

And his own character, which rarely works the way it could have because he isn't taken seriously by the writing!
Cassidy and Sadie are vaguely a play on the Romeo and Juliet trope, but they're not built up enough to warrant her being the one to "change" him. Pete's attachment to Grace worked perfectly because from his very first scene, we are aware of his attachment issues, and we SEE that problem already forming from the minute after he meets her. Again, this part of Cass isn't a play on S1, but it's a comparison fair to make given how Cass's relationship with Sadie is such a big part of both of them in the season.
In Cassidy's first scene- with Zayday- he states that he isn't interested in dating anyone, and I personally think that would've been a more interesting road for him: to have had him get close to Sadie intending to get some better judgment on how to take each of the girls out, only to fall for her through the season. It's still cliche, but it's better than the way S2 expected us to care deeply about this relationship when it started so suddenly and isn't taken seriously anyway.
Even the little details with Cass and Sadie being changed could've helped make this a little better. Throughout the season, Cass ONLY ever calls her Chanel Number Three, and it's too long, it makes the lines that are meant to be big moments for them too clunky.
The best example is when Jane trips him into choosing her over Sadie (which is quickly gone back on by him, which should've been emphasized more), and when he implies that she should leave, he still fully calls her by Chanel Number Three. Having him eventually start calling her Sadie at some point through the season- or hell, even just calling her Number Three like everyone else- would've made those lines come across smoother.
And then, we get to their deaths.
Jane and Cassidy's deaths should have been serious scenes, and they were not. This is partly because S2 had pretty much completely worn out the chance of having these two be seen as serious characters by the time we reach Drain The Swamp and also because, once again, neither of them was written seriously in the first place.
I'll talk a bit about Jane soon, but even Cassidy's dialogue weighs his character down. His lines at the start of the season especially, the "I envy ice" moment especially, are similar to Brock's issues in how completely out of tone they are for SQS itself.
One thing I have to say about Cass being given lines like this is that I get a feeling from them that whoever gave him these lines ran from some of Grace's earlier dialogue and her little speech in Black Friday about killing Munsch, but it doesn't work here because in S1 those lines were not tonally comedic, and they weren't the tone of SQS itself. That was just Grace, it was part of her characterization.
Even Cassidy's "I'm dead" thing was... why? It has the same vibe as Brock's hand problems and makes me wonder if they put it in just so they could have Sadie test for it to give them an extra scene together when they could've done that anyway if they'd written them properly!! It was so random and unnecessary, and much like Brock and Munsch's hand/medical plotlines, it goes nowhere and only comes in at random times.
Going back to how they wanted him to be three things, and this goes for Jane too, S1 introduced the Devils all in mostly or partly comedy-toned scenes, Boone especially, but not once when we find out any of them are villains (mostly excluding Hester given she's not officially revealed until TFGS) do we have to remind ourselves later that they are the villains. Every scene where it comes to them being Devils, not once is it impossible to take them seriously, no matter how the scene started, is going, or ends. Boone and Gigi taking the first height of Ghost Stories doesn't come across suddenly nor does it fall apart because of how they've been written previously and/or when they were introduced!! Gigi's relationship with her kids is clear and absolutely heartbreaking, and even when we don't even know she's a part of it this goes for Hester's relationship with Boone and Gigi too!! Pete goes from how he's written in Hell Week and Pilot to having the darkest, most intense death scene in the show and being the Devil with the MOST close-call attack in the show with how close he gets to killing Chanel in Black Friday!!
This doesn't work the same for Jane and Cassidy because they AREN'T written seriously from the very first scene we meet each of them.
And when it comes to introducing Jane in Scream Again, I do think something about how we start off mimicking S1's party falls somewhat flat.
It's very clear here that Jane loved her husband, and that sticks through the season- and it's also fairly obvious that Jane and her son will be villains considering how S1 went, but I think it may not feel as harsh as S1's opening because it feels almost rushed.
We only get a few seconds of Bill and Jane interacting and talking, and aside from those moments, we don't get any implications about their relationship.
We have no insight into any layers Nurse Thomas or Dr. Mike have, aside from a few (selfishly-reasoned) lines from Nurse Thomas. Seemingly, Dr. Mike is the most heartless one of the two. They are both completely happy once Bill's body is in the swamp, and aside from the one obvious cut to Jane, that's the end of the opening, and we know it all. This does not come back later. This does not get added to. We find out about the first massacre, and Jane tells us about that later, but that is it. It doesn't add any details to these four characters other than one extra detail about the first massacre Chamberlain and Zayday very quickly found out about.
Compare this to S1.
We don't start following Bethany. We follow Amy. We follow Amy because she's the one intending completely to help Sophia and is quickly implied to probably be the closest to Sophia out of the group.
And we're made to sympathize with Amy right away. We're made to sympathize with Sophia right away. We're made to pay attention to the others right away.
Coco doesn't follow immediately, as we get told when she runs in late and comments on the music downstairs. Bethany has silent, expression-given moments of shock and panic before she switches completely to being snappy. She also sets up the attitude of Chanel and the others. Sophia's line here gives us a good look through the delivery itself. It's made fairly clear she was likely the quietest/shyest one in the house. Mandy turns back briefly when she, Beth, and Coco leave before following, so we get a look into her relationship with everyone just in that. She did care for Sophia and Amy, but she'd suck up to Bethany as much as she could. Amy does not budge through this whole scene. She's addressing the others and only interacting with Sophia by holding her hand and glancing at the baby, but it's already been made clear that Amy cares about her, and it is obvious in these looks and little details that Sophia trusts her completely.
When the others come back after Waterfalls, they are shocked. They are panicked that Sophia's dead. They each get reaction shots, Bethany included. Amy has already taken it upon herself to hold the baby, who she still continues looking at when the others are there, which already creates a slight connection between Amy and the baby.
And this is where the scene ends. We don't know what they do with her body. It is left ambiguous until Chanel gives us a little more when she and Grace talk in the basement, and then we get the rest when Mandy tells us episodes later. It's not until Ghost Stories that Munsch confirms to herself that there were two babies confirmed that night, even when we've known about Boone since Hell Week.
I think S2's tone issues make it worse, given it struggles to add real weight to Jane's loss later, even when we do know most details from the start.
S1's opening, to those willing to analyze, anyway, already works to give weight and emotion and depth to every single one of them while still managing to leave a lot of things ambiguous until we are told later. It's immediately made obvious that nobody here is going to be a black-and-white character, and that only continues to go harder and harder through the season. The whole opening and all of the things previously mentioned even add to Gigi once we get the details about her. It adds to Gigi and Boone's relationship, with Boone's conflict over knowing and thinking about what would happen if Sophia were alive. It adds to Hester pre-retcon and how close we know she was to Gigi and the fact she sees Chanel and the others as replicas of Bethany, Mandy, and Coco. It adds to Grace turning out to be Bethany's daughter.
I've not got an ending point to come to with this one, but it's a big opinion of mine, given how attached I am to S1's characters.
I don't have much to say about Hoffel aside from the fact what more depth she could've had isn't gone through with, and that's unfortunate for her. There's lots of implication that she and Cassidy did genuinely have some sort of bond, but given S2 rushing through everything and/or ignoring it to focus on other things and the ways Cassidy and Jane are written in general, nothing is done with it, and it takes away what weight it seems like there was meant to be in the scenes where they argue over Cass drifting out of the plans. Even the way she reacts genuinely caught off guard when she kills him could've had more weight if it had been a serious scene.
Hoffel and Hester don't get to interact enough, and when they do, there's very little to it, and that's a shame. Hoffel is seeking vengeance for Agatha, who was there when Sophia's death was covered up and likely when Munsch told Amy and Gigi to leave with the babies, and- while I can absolutely partly blame the retcon for this- Hester doesn't get to feel anything about that.
Considering it's fair to assume Hoffel was pretty close with her sister, there's a chance that- given Agatha lived in Kappa- Hoffel might've visited even once or twice when Gigi and Amy and the others were still around, given it's fairly clear she hadn't ever met Chanel directly before.
Then there's the little detail in Hoffel's narration: "I've had my eye on the Chanels since they were released from the asylum."
Chanel was called out for (accidentally, but they didn't know that) killing Agatha far earlier than that. That's why she was first arrested by Chisolm in S1. Since Hoffel and Agatha were direct family, Hoffel would've been informed here. She would've been told her sister was dead once they found her body in Shady Lane and then- if Chisolm wasn't too lazy to do it- updated to know who killed her when Chanel was believed to have done it all.
As odd as it would be for all of them, I don't think it's impossible that maybe Hester alone either sought Hoffel out at some point in between seasons to "tell her what really happened to her sister" because Chisolm's laziness had him never do so, OR since Denise handled the case so heavily when Hester was caught, Hoffel was invited to see Hester face-to-face in a setting akin to an interview as a chance to get some closure over what really happened to her sister, and Hester twisted it then into Chanel purposefully killing her.
And this can also go for what they could've done with her and Cass, going off the last option mentioned, Hoffel- while definitely with rougher edges than Jess and Amy had and seemingly less directly than Hester- seems extremely family-orientated.
The fact she's doing this for Agatha, the fact she's genuinely upset to kill Cass (accidentally), the way she reacts to Wes saying he wants to kill Hester by snapping that's his daughter.
If Hoffel knew Gigi (and Amy, and Sophia, and- given Bethany likely wouldn't have been too friendly, met the others), then Hester would've told her the whole story. About Agatha playing a part in covering up Sophia's murder, about Munsch, about Amy and Gigi, and everything that happened to them. Maybe she'd have even mentioned Boone.
And Hoffel would- in a twisted way- honestly halfway understand that. She'd zone in on the next thing she could- someone who, in her eyes, has nothing to lose, Chanel.
Even the way she reacts when she finds out Wes is Hester's dad in the first place is so outward and odd to me, but had Hoffel met Gigi, it gives something to Hoffel briefly defending Hester when Wes puts forward killing her trying to save his own skin. Just a little way she could've repaid Gigi for what harm Agatha was indirectly involved in. She's after vengeance for her sister, yes, but she can keep Hester safe while she's doing it.
These theories don't have to be connected, but going back to that theory I mentioned earlier:
Hester's urgency over Brock killing Munsch as soon as possible has always made me believe that it was never meant to be her and Brock going to Blood Island. It was meant to be her and Hoffel.
Again, this is a theory, but Hester leaves as soon as Hoffel is ready to kill everybody. She doesn't seem to think once about Brock being caught up in that, and as far as it's implied, he had to find a way to meet her there already on Blood Island. Hoffel is getting ready to leave before the Scooby-Doo chase starts. Hoffel was aware when Brock was going to propose to Munsch, she is the one who goes to fetch Chanel. Hester told her this plan.
It was Hester's idea for him to propose to Munsch anyway. She stood with Hoffel (and Cassidy) during the said proposal and was there to hand Munsch that pen at the wedding. She knew what she was doing. She had something planned that all this was a necessity for.
It's entirely possible to me that her plan was to have Brock kill Munsch and take the money, and once everything was done, it would've been her and Hoffel escaping to Blood Island to just do whatever they want as just partners in crime.
They also put Hoffel in Amy's blue a lot, be it with that one dress or with her nails.
And then we get to... the most pathetic, wet dog of a man in the show.
Wes is stupid. Wes is hilariously stupid. What happened to Grace is more his fault than Chanel's, and he attacks everyone he says he isn't interested in, Munsch included, given that Green Meanie she nearly unmasks at the start of the season is Wes considering Hoffel didn't have the costume by then and Cass was there in the scene with Sadie. He attacks Zayday multiple times, even if during one, he leaves her alone because she was Grace's best friend.
He yells at Hester never to call him dad, and then immediately tries tripping her into taking his side by yelling that he is her dad, and then later that same episode, says he wants to kill her to save his own skin, and this is the writing's fault, but he doesn't even say Grace's name before he dies, he says playlist, which was a running gag in S1, but was not mentioned in S2 up until then.
Wes showing up so randomly this season alone is fuel for my theory that a S3 would've brought the dead villains back (S1 villains at the forefront) because he is here just to tell us what happened to Grace and then fucking die. They could've easily done this through Zayday, but Grace literally does not exist until Wes comes along, she's mentioned like twice- never by the girls- and then she's never mentioned again.
Wes and Zayday never even see each other face to face, and she is NOT MISSING by the time he gets there. This is not acknowledged as her actively avoiding him, and even when she mentions Earl Gray to Jane, her connection to Grace is not acknowledged. I get it, boyfriend is closer to husband, but why would you not have her talk about Grace here? Have her say she lost Grace to the Devil murders!! If Grace as a devil is meant to have the power to possibly have ALREADY killed Chanel then mention her in S2!!!
Although this is also the fault of Wes being hilariously awful since S1, he is also impossible to take seriously as a villain both for that reason and because of how he's re-introduced and is here for like half an hour in total.
Wes this season also has a negative effect on Munsch, given her health issues are put on pause while he's around. This isn't the first time they seem to disappear, but it's the time it lasts the longest. Zayday told Munsch she had less than a year to live, and we get through the implication of her knowing she only has a month that she did her own research and put the timeline together herself, and as emotional as she got telling Zayday (and Chamberlain) about her worries in the first place, this is ignored by her until the last two episodes start rushing to wrap it up.
Even the brief deal he makes with Cass not only goes nowhere, but it's also impossible to take seriously because neither Cass nor Wes are written seriously in general, and by then it's too late to take them as such, especially with, again, how Wes was re-introduced.
Wes also gets his ass kicked whenever he tries physically fighting anyone, which is absolutely hilarious.
I'll mention this here due to the fact I can't say much about her because she's inactive for so long this season, but Denise being the hero of the season is pretty funny, although I do wish they'd have done more with her instead of putting her away before Hester moved back in with the others and Zayday went missing especially.
To move on to more positive things I have to say about S2, and why I rewatch it so often when I'm writing Chanel and Hester especially, season two does have a lot of really great character interactions with the girls.
It's the characterization and dynamic between the girls this season that slips through the intentionally more comedic-toned writing, and I love it.
Brock's inconsistency leads to unnecessary drama between Munsch and Chanel, but pushing that aside, there is something so special about how clear the bond between everyone is in Season Two.
Chanel and Zayday's bond is amazingly done. Chanel starts off purposefully trying to knock Zayday's confidence this season, but it isn't a rehashing of their S1 dynamic; it's a continuation. Where Chanel starts this season makes her possessive of whatever chance there is to be seen as the leader around the hospital, but it doesn't last. She'll be spiteful and snappy occasionally, of course, but within a few weeks, she's already calmed down, and she and Zayday are working alongside each other- and living together- fine.
We see more of Chanel and Sadie this season, too, as much as a lot of Sadie's scenes are pushed to be surrounding her relationship with Cass. They're closer than people would think they are, and the fact Sadie continued testing whether Chanel really wouldn't give in when she tries saying no to letting Hester stay is a huge nod to the kind of dynamic those two have in the dynamic of The Chanels in general.
Libby gets a whole relationship with Zayday this season, and it's adorable. It's so well-written, and I don't know why. We see them care about each other. Zayday brings Libby down to earth. Libby notices when Zayday goes missing. I don't know whose idea this was, but I don't think anyone can look me in the eye and tell me that a S3 wouldn't have continued with these two's relationship. They're running the hospital together by post-finale. They're practically married by the end of S2.
And pausing going from character to character for a second, S2's moments of building/emphasizing bonds between everyone makes me wonder if it was their way of setting up for a S3 being more character-focused and bringing in both the S1 villains and Grace as the Devil, and Zayday and Libby are my biggest example.
Zayday this season takes Grace's role, and with Chamberlain gone, she'd need someone else to investigate alongside her in a S3- where Grace is undoubtedly the Devil. Having Zayday and Libby investigate/visit Jane together seems like their way of testing whether that would work using Libby as Zayday's partner in investigating, and with these two being given such a nice dynamic, it did.
Even Munsch's wonky way of caring for the girls works oddly well this season. There's the unnecessary romance triangle that covers it more than other things I'm talking about here, but it's there through the whole season, even through the more in-character-conflict moments of threatening Chanel over Hester's whereabouts. Smaller things like her friendship with Denise coming back! And the way she is when they first visit Hester in the asylum this season is so interesting. She's so spiteful, and it just makes me wonder if it comes from the fact that part of her does know that it's partly her fault any of S1 (Wording it this way because the retcon's not canon) happened at all. She is partly at fault for the Devil Murders happening in the first place, and she's still too prideful to admit it to herself- especially when they first go to Hester, pushing aside the problems with the plotline, Munsch is under the impression she is dying.
Chad's big moment before he dies is so fucking sweet. I know it seems like I give him too much credit just off his word for this scene, but it's owing to Glen's phenomenal delivery of the little moments Chad gets even in S1 (his line in Ghost Stories when he asks if Chanel is the killer). He's so genuine in this whole scene, and it's just nice to have him admit that he does care for Chanel. Saying he just wants Chanel to enjoy her wedding? I am ugly crying.
I have some opinions on Chad's death. It's really stupid that Wes was the one to kill him, and killing him off so soon was a very bold move, but that scene was a sweet sendoff for him.
This one's going to be very long, have quite a bit of an old S1 analysis of mine, and have shots slotted in, so bear with me.
Chanel and Hester's dynamic this season is perfect. It's honestly quite surprising because when doing S1 to S2 right after the other, aside from Thanksgiving, all of their moments in S1 are coming from Chanel's clear bias, and then little things like Chanel's reactions to Hester being hurt in Dorkus/TFGS and then her reactions to when Hester is framing her, which may very well have not even been scripted.
In S2, their moments seem mostly intentional. There are a lot of little details again, but even the obviously scripted things like everything Chanel does when it comes to moving Hester in and refusing to tell Munsch anything about her whereabouts genuinely do make me think that a S3 would've continued developing these two's dynamic.
Looking back on Chanel's reactions in Dorkus/TFGS, first when they find Hester with the heel through her eye:

This is before Hester wakes up. When Zayday struggles to feel a pulse, and it's quickly being concluded she must be dead. From some of the others, this wouldn't look like much, but this is Chanel. In front of the others. In front of Grace.
It's implied at least one of them stepped away to call an ambulance because TFGS picking the timeline back up starts when Hester's already being wheeled out. And Chanel is there, running alongside her and telling her over and over that it'll be okay, she'll be alright, destabilized with the "Can we save the shoe?" line similar to how Pete messing around in Kappa was used as a destabilizer in his last scene. That's an in-character destabilizer, but it doesn't take away from how she's acting otherwise. This is Chanel running alongside and trying to comfort the girl she pushed down the stairs a few days ago. This is Chanel running alongside and trying to comfort the girl Zayday and Grace JUST CALLED THE LAST DEVIL. And Chanel believed them. She knew they were right. Everyone knew those two wouldn't have gotten it wrong, especially not then, especially given what Grace went through literally the night before.
But the next time we see her, she's following what Hester said when she was awake and yelling at Libby to confess that she's the last Devil. And added detail, to the others, it probably should've been thought that Hester wasn't entirely in the right mind when yelling about Libby, the girl was half-blind, had just regained consciousness, bleeding, and in a lot of pain. They don't know she did that herself.
And then when Hester moves to her during TFGS- with their completely parallel colors too- she snaps about it at first, but when Hester starts backing her toward Sadie and Libby:

Hester is the only person to pull this type of genuine reaction from Chanel. To pull reactions like this from Chanel that aren't faked or dramatized purposefully by her in the moment, and this continues into S2 in ways that, again, seem to be completely on purpose.
This isn't to do with Chanel, but I just want to point out that Amy, Sophia, and Gigi all get their own bits of reference in Chanel Pour Homme-Icide when Chanel and Hester first meet back up. Amy and Sophia get their colors in the lighting that follows Chanel through the scene- blue and gold respectively- and Hester faking ghostly sounds is directly taken from Gigi even if the retcon would never allow that to be acknowledged.
I had to bring those S1 moments up because I'm pairing them a bit with how Chanel continues to react toward Hester through the rest of the scene in CPH-I. She snaps at her- barely, for her standards- twice. And then it's implied that she listens to what Hester says mostly in silence because the scene cuts away to the apartment, and Chanel announces that Hester's moving in with them.
Even the things Libby and Sadie seem to start noticing and actively start pushing back against.
Libby's reaction wouldn't have done much to Chanel anyway, sure, but the way Sadie doesn't start a direct argument over it when she also refuses makes me wonder if she didn't give in as soon as Chanel said they'd have better luck with Hester there just to see if Chanel really wouldn't go back on her word, and she doesn't.
All it takes is this look, and Sadie lets it go.

This is all after Halloween Blues.
Chanel assumed when she was attacked there that it was Libby and was later directly proven wrong. She also says herself when Zayday's helping with her leg, she doesn't know why she wasn't followed. It's never brought back up, but there is very little chance that she didn't piece together that it must've been Hester.
Even things like barely snapping when she wakes up to Hester standing over her bed (The fact Hester ended up rooming with Chanel is a whole thing on its own) she's scared for a few moments, but she fully listens to what Hester asks for. She's bored, she feels caged up here, and she's just got out of one, she wants something to do, or she'll kill someone for the hell of it.
Before this, and before Chanel confesses and gets Hester free-roam, Munsch threatens her over Hester's whereabouts, where she stays completely silent and refuses to say so much as a word.
Hester's characterization in S2 is something I actually really like for her. The retcon's still present (and patchy), but there's actually quite a bit of her depth that slips between the cracks this season.
Although nearly all of what I'm going to say here is not confirmed directly, her calling the Green Meanie summit when she did is a nice little detail. She sees them arguing, and it's fair to assume through her, "We're here to divvy out the remaining murders so that no one's feelings get hurt," line that she worked to settle things as soon as she noticed the infighting because of what happened between Gigi and Boone.
I've talked about her and Chanel already, but on Hester's end specifically, we have some of it pretty intertwined with her characterization here in general.
She takes the chance to tease Chanel by stealing her blood in Blood Drive, but it comes with her actively trying to keep her promise not to kill anybody so she doesn't have to be locked up again, which is something about her character that I've always really liked given her past in Palmer. It's fitting for her to hate being locked up as much as she does, and S2 goes really hard with it.
Going back to Chanel, there's also a lot to S2's cliffhanger. There is a 50/50 chance here that Chanel is either badly hurt or canonically dead, with how few ways there were for her to have gotten out of it. Sadie would've most likely been the one to find her, and Hester (and Munsch) wouldn't be there to know about it. The cliffhanger this season also brings me back to what I said about a S3 possibly being more character-driven, both with Grace as the Devil and the fact that if she'd been hurt here, Chanel would've had Zayday and Libby especially keeping an eye on her given they're canonically leading the hospital by the end of the season. This could've pushed a lot between Chanel and Hester too, looking back at the fact Hester and Boone constantly spared Grace in S1 and did see her as their little sister.
I won't say anymore because I'll probably just end up repeating myself, and this is already far too long, but there you go, anon. Told you I had a lot to say.
Bonus for S2 being very adamant either on purpose or not on purpose that Chanel is asexual.

Idk why but the crowhawk mood is real this valentines
Headcanon/notes time under the cut
Crowfeather and hawkfrost kind of work like uhh Crowley and Aziraphale from good omens, highly dependent on who which is from moment to moment — but Crowfeather is similar most to Crowley most in being killjoys and enjoying it quietly, also I’d like to think Crowfeather hates being complimented on doing “the right” thing because he never left that rebellious teenager shit behind, though he’s technically a protag and more aligned with good he still tries to put out this image of a brooding heretic when in reality he wouldn’t dare do the things hawkfrost wants to do. Hawk and Azi share a similar disposition, approachable and talkative, I’d say hawk also has some very strange phrases he tosses into sentences that throw Crowfeather for a loop, besides that they’re extremely different though still kind of built similar??? Very hard to describe since hawk is definitely more of a mischief maker, but he’s got some of that essence. (Also “You’re so clever - how can someone as clever as you be so stupid?!” Is a thing Crowfeather would say to hawkfrost)
Hawkfrost is a very eloquent speaker, constantly throwing out big words into sentences. Crowfeather hates this, he hates it when he tries to outsmart him. Sometime hawkfrost says obscure little pieces of vernacular or weird little things. Crowfeather hates that more because those aren’t even real words.
They bicker constantly it’s their love language.
Hawkfrost loves getting Crowfeather heated because the best comedy comes from a pissed off crowfeather. He often does this by starting the stupidest arguments (in good fun ofc but Crowfeather barely understands the meaning of the word)
The only way Crowfeather has found he can get hawkfrost upset is by pretending to forget the names of certain things or cats. He’s done this several times with Tigerclaw in specific and it’s never gotten boring.
When they aren’t annoying eachother into a rage they’re having friendly insult matches or battles of wit. Sometimes they just roam around the moors together, all domestic.
Crowfeather will drop anything if it involves hawkfrost, he’s always been a bit of a lovesick dumbass even though he hides this fact with his life.
They never find a name for what they are. They are 100% openly romantic with eachother, but have never called eachother mates. The closest anyone will get out of them is “oh that’s my best friend”, but everyone knows it’s not that simple.
Crowfeather remembers things that hawkfrost forgets about himself or just tries to forget/insist it’s not the case. He knows he doesn’t like eating birds cause the feathers are too much of a mess even when hawk complains about not getting “the option”. He knows hawkfrost hates the snow so he always nags him about not going out late lest it be him left to hear him complain about how frozen his paws feel. He knows that hawkfrost never keeps his head under water for more than a few seconds because he starts to think he’s drowning, even if it’s not true. He knows to curl around him in the night while they try to sleep, to watch for the unsheathing of his claws or the hiss in his throat - even if hawkfrost denies it ever happened at all.
Crowfeather realized he was in love with hawkfrost first, out of the two that is. Initially he’d tried to hide it, but as time wears on it becomes clearer that hawkfrost is the one he longs to share his days with. Hawkfrost to Crowfeather awakens a well of emotion he’d never thought possible for him. He is irritating, yes, insufferable, annoyingly egotistical at times and a show off to boot, but he’s awakened a fire in him where he thought was once just ice. Hawkfrost is a ray of sunlight to him, sometimes he’s shining right into his eyes first thing in the morning — but, the warmth is always welcomed. For every inconvenience he throws his way, he is always reminded of the clever, wonderment filled little problem solver - at times a problem maker. No matter what Hawkfrost does he just can’t let go of that fire, that warmth that’s blossomed between them.
Hawkfrost never fully realizes he’s in love until Crowfeather admits his love, and it’s confuses him because he’s often more unsure of himself than he’d like to admit, but he thinks, at least, he’s loved Crowfeather from the moment they’ve met, he’s just never realized that was what it was. Crowfeather is someone who doesn’t change, at least not at his core. Hawkfrost has never once looked at him and thought he could not recognize what lay in his head, and that’s comforting. He’s a rock, he’s solid, someplace he can hold onto when it’s all too much. He’s got a clearer head than he does, for sure, and no matter what, as tactless and blunt as Crowfeather might be, he finds the right words at the worst of times. He’s a calm in the storm that Hawkfrost believes to be himself most of the time; he’s sanctuary. Sometimes when he looks at him the world becomes clear; not in the dark way he sometimes views it as, but as full of light, of some sort of reprieve from the sorrow. At least when he isn’t nagging him, that is. He’ll never forgive himself for betraying his honesty
Crowfeather struggles with the concept of loyalty a lot, specifically, loyalty to his Clan and loyalty to those he loves, often outside the clans. He knows that if it came between his Clan and Hawkfrost he’d always choose Hawkfrost and he knows that in the world they live in that’s wrong, but it’s become a sacrifice he’s comfortable with making. Even if he’d hurt others. Even if it’d hurt him. Hawkfrost, on the other hand sees that. He sees that Crowfeather is loyal to him, and the time he uses that loyalty for his gain he learns quickly that it’s rotten what he’s done — that he’s no better than anyone who’s let him down before. But, Crowfeather stays by him, and that’s worse somehow, because he doesn’t deserve this. He doesn’t deserve forgiveness or mercy from him, he deserves hate, but he never receives it. Crowfeather is too good for his wretchedness.
Hawkfrost always brings Crowfeather something from RiverClan when he visits him, often something he thinks Crowfeather would find interesting enough to keep. Sometimes it’s twoleg stuff that he’s caught off the shore, sometimes it’s a shell, or a neat looking rock, or fish scales that might look nice in his pelt. Crowfeather brings him wildflowers from the moor, mostly because hawkfrost always comments about his love for the scenic vista of WindClan, how prettily the flowers dot the hills. When hawkfrost thanks him he usually grumbles under his breath. Sometimes he gives him a crooked grin, and hawkfrost likes that much better.
They stargaze together — when they were younger they’d do so with Feathertail, hawk when she was still in RiverClan and Crow of course whilst on the journey. Feathertail would play a game where she’d make images out of the stars and challenge them to try and beat hers, neither of them think they did, but Feathertail always conceded at their ideas and congratulated them. Between the two of them, they try to keep track over what she’d made out of the stars. In a way, Crowfeather and Hawkfrost through Feathertail have learned to view constellations. There have been multiple attempts to get other cats in on this (mainly the other journey goers), but between explanations and their bickering most cats do not stick around to learn about the Star Shapes as they call them. Crowfeather does once absentmindedly bring it up to a full grown, distanced Breezepelt, who oddly, definitely not taking after his father, sits still and listens to him explain which stars form the shape of a lions face, or the form of dove. It’s a rare moment of calm between them.
Crowfeather always dreaded parenthood — mostly because he couldn’t think of having to raise them with someone he didn’t much care for, something he believed he’d eventually settle for. With Hawkfrost, fatherhood became a bit easier to handle, though he still dreaded the thought of more than one Hawkfrost. Hawkfrost had always wanted to be a father, he wasn’t really focused on who he’d have them with if he even have them himself, he just wanted to do something right, inspire wonderment in someone younger than he. With Crowfeather, the fear settled in, doubt as to whether he can actually be the person he wants to be — to Crowfeather, to a hypothetical child.
Crowfeather knows how to swim only because hawkfrost was insistent he’d learn in class of a flood. In the moors. On the other hand — Crowfeather didn’t need to teach Hawkfrost about how WindClanners run, he had that covered oddly as a fish-breath. Honestly, it enchanted him the first time he saw Hawkfrost run through those hills, wind blowing through his fur. Hawkfrost can’t lie either, half the reason he wanted Crowfeather to learn to swim was to see the beauty of him in the water, and it was a hard job getting him in that water, but the way it made the glossy black of his pelt shimmer? Unforgettable.
The two like to play fight and wrestle a lot — it’s often how they solve disagreements. They have a sparring match and whoever wins you have to go with their way of things. Of course they don’t use claws or teeth in these fights, they’re not animals, most of it is just roughhousing between bros.
Hawkfrost’s many nicknames for crow include; rabbiter, long legs, squawks, nagfeather, bitter thing, twig, twiglegs, blackbird, songbird, nagbird (he likes to make a point of his nagging), “my bird”, “my crow”, “my shadow”, and of course “lover dearest”.
Crowfeathers nicknames for hawk are; fox charmer, adder eyes, fish breath, catfish, (my) little bird (hawk is shorter than crow no exceptions), kestrel, (my) flea, little flea, foxglove, asphodel (of all the names he calls hawkfrost, flowers are the most common), honeysuckle, (my) sea-breeze, (my) little hawk, and his favorite “my killer” (sarcastically but also very emotionally literal). Though hawkfrost is more clever at name making — Crowfeather has beaten him in the sheer amount of things that reminds him of hawk.
Crowfeather is a hopeless romantic, it’s a well known secret at this point (he��d never admit it). Hawkfrost is a dreamer at heart, so caught up in those dreams he forgets himself, and though love is so important to him he’s grown fearful of it.
It’s often worse for everyone else, but them when they’re together, as much as they bicker they do really put their heads together.
While RiverClan and WindClan have trouble seeing the obvious nature of their relationship, all of ThunderClan and ShadowClan are blatantly aware somehow, though there are exceptions like Mothwing and perhaps Ashfoot. Ashfoot cannot help, but tease her little crow about his boyfriend across the border, and Mothwing never says anything, but she arches her brow at hawk when he tells her he’ll be out near the borders in case she needs him to bring back herbs. They’d never tell the rest of the clan, but, it is perplexing. Later on, Nightcloud also realizes crow has his sights set on hawkfrost, and she’s not surprised he’s into toms in the slightest, more so surprised at his “type”. Leafpool has never been able to understand the relationship between the two (she’s really bad at relationships), but squirrelflight knew from day one they were in love, she just didn’t know whether to be happy for Crowfeather or upset that it was Hawkfrost. Brambleclaw likely couldn’t see a badger of it were right in front of him. Tawnypelt called it ahead of time, but by then Feathertail was dead so she couldn’t pay her, Stormfur had to in her absence even though he’d been neutral on the whole thing. Feathertail is laughing in StarClan.
Hawkfrost, through Crowfeather is slowly better acclimated to the journey crew. Squirrelflight starts to actually like Hawkfrost’s company. It’s terrible news for Crowfeather.
In a world where hawkfrost still dies at the lake, Crowfeather is destroyed, the scars of Feathertails passing being torn open and cut deeper. Why was someone so clever so, so stupid? Why did he throw it all away? Hawkfrost could never answer him, but when he sees breezepelt for the first time, there’s a spark of recognition. Like he’s met a younger version of Crowfeather, and somehow, himself, but, greater things await, and these feelings are buried, just as he was.
If leafcrow were to still happen in a continuity where crowhawk is still a thing, Crowfeather is definitely projecting Hawkfrost onto her, and Leafpool is likely projecting Mothwing onto him. They fell in love with the fucking disaster twins.
Crowfeather doesn’t like the smell of fish, so hawkfrost has taken to eating herbs to make his breath smell better — for unrelated reasons of course. Mothwing laughs at the sidestepping, but slides him what’s needed anyways.
Hawkfrost once told Crowfeather he’d found a ThunderClan Tom quite handsome, he’d liked his build. Crowfeather for a full moon began sneaking into ThunderClan to ask Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight for training and pointers on how to build muscle. It was annoying, and when Brambleclaw commented on the weird behavior to Hawkfrost, he burst into a fit of laughter for some reason. Huh. Later on Hawkfrost brought it up to Crowfeather, how remained stubborn on it being a lie until Hawkfrost said “I like your twig legs better anyhow, don’t go getting badger bodied on me.” At that, Crowfeather relented, annoyed by his odd jeering praise.
Crowfeather has a habit of sleeping wrapped around the RiverClan tom, his long body just curls around him perfectly well. It also stops the nightmares from plaguing Hawkfrost in the night, so it’s a win-win for both of them.
They’ve agreed on a number of kit names before; Hopkit, Frogkit, Featherkit, Stonekit, Kestrelkit, Laurelkit, Pikekit, Owlkit, Ravenkit, Rookkit, Lavenderkit, Honeykit (for honeysuckle), Jackdawkit and Breezekit. There are more, but there’d be too many to count at that point. To note, Crowfeather prefers names based on weather, flowers or actions, while hawk has always liked names based on animals (all his littermates were named after animals so why not his kids?), though he does like Crowfeathers flower names.
Hawk has a knack for telling stories, and while Crowfeather honestly isn’t much for listening to them, when it’s Hawkfrost, occasionally he’ll let him retell some stories. Hawkfrost’s favorite is Stonefurs, he’s memorized it by heart and when he gets towards the end, his eyes shine with a strange sense of pride and grief. “What a bright star to be blotted out — but, stars, to be brave like that? I suppose some flames are meant to burn out faster than others.”
The two share some odd understanding of being fatherless individuals; though the circumstances are largely different between the two. Crowfeather longs in some ways to have known Deadfoot, maybe to fill at least half of the hole he left in WindClan when he died. Hawkfrost, even after meeting with his father is unsure, unsure of himself, unsure of what he’s heard, of the truth, of what he feels — everything is very confusing for him, especially in regards to what he believes. There’s a pain there that they know the other feels, but due to how different their situations are, speaking about it tends to be difficult.
On the contrary, Ashfoot becomes a second mother to Hawkfrost, like his mother while he’s far from Sasha. She reminds her of Sasha even though they aren’t that similar, and Crowfeather, though always very much a downer also loves his mother dearly. When Hawkfrost accidentally calls her “mom”, it stops becoming an accident every other time, so supposedly at that point it’s official that the two toms are a couple.
Mothwing and Crowfeather have an odd relationship. They kind of hate eachother, but they’re also good friends. Hawkfrost doesn’t pretend to understand what’s happening.
Hawkfrost would likely join WindClan in a world where he lives longer, just to be with Crowfeather. If they were to raise breezepelt together with Nightcloud things would’ve definitely been different and the kit would’ve been well adjusted, but still extremely irritating (it’s a family thing!)

My thoughts on LB6 (Arc 1)
My personal thoughts on Lostbelt 6 so far as I have been timegated and am so fucking hyped to see it come to fruition. I just wanted to collect my thoughts on it in a post. Apologies for lack of images I am doing this at 2AM and I need to get my feelings down.
From start to finish, I have been *very* into fucking world building, to the point where it is its only surpassed by its amazing character arcs! But regardless, I think the writers made a really good intro to suck you in first that makes you excited to be along for the ride.
The very first meeting you get of Fairy Britain is of rapscallion exiles who don’t have anything left to lose and are practically cockroaches of society. Even so they try their best to live out the rest of their lives, even if they cut it short themselves with the introduction of a human. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a metaphor for all of Fairy Britain: a peaceful land eventually doomed to fail but with the introduction of one human cascades into an even worse fate filled with pain and suffering. 
I also love how differing area’s have differing politics on humans and what to do with them. Camelot and Salisbury seem intent to control humans, even if Salisbury’s leader thinks differently. (Hell, the disconnect is so much that I’m almost suspicious.) Norwich and Sheffield practically have fairies and humans side by side, although both of which is primarily motivated by an oncoming disaster. And then Gloucester is willfully feigning ignorance with neutrality, knowing that the only thing that matters is commerce. If you’re human, you’re a slave. A pet. A comrade in arms. A bargaining chip. And someone sticking through a disaster together with people.
Plus the introductions of various faeries make the world so much more lively. Especially the river fairies who lure people in with their wishes. That one in particular was really cool and made for a really good comedy bit.
And then the characters. GOD the characters. Every single main character has made a lasting impression on me, whether it be cool or immense, but intended, hatred. I especially love Castoria being fated to be this great hero but is the equivalent of throwing molotov cocktails at people. Also, at some point I noticed I didn’t know why Castoria was in the Amnesia Forest. Hm. I wonder if this is related to the crippling imposter syndrome she has over the entire Child of Prophecy thing and that it seemed like she let her entire hometown die. Sure would be bad if she tried to drown herself in amnesia so she could go back to being a regular hick! Regardless I will hype her up as much as possible and will kill everyone else in the room if they don’t cheer.
Anyways, moving on from Castoria, this is also very clearly supposed to be Mash’s time to shine and it fucking *shows*. Taking her away from Ritsuka and giving her own role to develop is so cool to see. Her absence is tangible, especially since she’s Ritsuka’s rock and they literally cannot keep themself in check without her as a support. Regardless, putting her with the scum of the earth (who aren’t true scum, just a little misguided and don’t know how to act) and making her still defend them at all costs is so good. She *is* a hero, a knight, Galahad’s very own Tam Lin to shield all that comes the way. It’s so satisfying to see her build herself back up and have something to stand for as Mash and not Chadea’s Demi-servant. (Also, I very much appreciate the buffs. Especially the np gain so i can fucking loop her np.)
And the fucking meetup with her and Ritsuka is SO FUCKING HYPE. Ritsuka, willing their command seals back (probably by sacrificing their of life force just to defy fate, i don’t think letting them know that was a thing they could do was a good idea) to triple boost a Lord Camelot is just. Fucking Incredible. Also giving THEM a monolouge not influenced by the player hit me so fucking hard because for once Ritsuka doesn’t feel like an insert MC. They’re a fully fledged maniac of their own and above everything they want to save their beloved Mash and the rest of Britain. (Granted, they never were just an insert, especially during lostbelt arc, but this takes it to a new level) And it makes it hurt all the more when Mash is taken away to Morgan. But also not to a point where the other Tam Lin know about her, at least Tristan. Very fascinating to me. Still satisfying to watch the hope drain from Guda’s eyes as their sanity plummets.
On the account of Oberon, I like him but sadly don’t have much to say about him expect REALLY loving his art and the writers making great stuff with his humor. Regardless, I like that he tries to care for Guda in his own way. Same thing with Muramasa, but with the added part of liking his like. Strict Grandpa relationship with the cast, with a soft spot for Artoria.
Comedy is also been top notch. From being owned by Artoria (which she seems a *wee* bit too excited by) to buying the Child of Prophecy (30% Chance), the writers hit home with nearly everyone. Plus, it helps a lot with getting some relief, especially after heavy hitters like the fall of Sheffield due to the Black Barrel and the loss of Tristan. 
All and all, this is by far my favorite chapter by a mile. I returned from a long ass hiatus just to sink my teeth into this and by god it delivered. Glad, I came back. And, while i was mainly trying to save for someone else later… I couldn’t help myself bringing home someone who I’m told is very good!

top five favorite video game characters?
Ok, so I originally had this whole thing with pics and gifs typed out, and I was on the last sentence before posting answer when tumblr glitched out and deleted all of it. So Imma redo it and hopefully do the original draft justice, but without gifs and pics just in case that was what screwed it up
Edit: it happened a third time >:(
1: As a devout Haru stan and apologist, it pains me a little to say that I have not had the full Haru experience, having not played any of the spinoffs or supplementary material outside of Persona 5 Royal, and we are not counting the Haru that exists only in my head, which is why despite my love for her, I cannot in good conscious call her one of my favorite video game characters, yet. With that in mind, I will have to with mild begrudges have to hand it to Futaba. What can I say? I have no choice but to stan an internationally wanted hacker who is capable of shutting down governments from her phone while being incapable of calling the pizza place down the road without going into a nervous breakdown. Plus, have you seen her? She smol. Diminutive. Gremlin shaped. Perfectly scampable. Plus, I feel she provides a very welcome change of pace with her palace in the story, being the only one where the antagonist is not some overtly hostile villain being quite refreshing for when she comes into the story, with her overall arc being very satisfying to watch play out, both in the grand narrative and in her smaller personal interactions. However, I must admit I'm not overtly fond of how navigators are used in Persona games, with them feeling generally detached from the general gameplay loop of them not being active party members, but as someone who doesn't typically go for JRPG's I am totally willing to recognize this may just be a me thing and that my sensibilities might not quite line up with how these things typically go
2: Surprise motherfucker! Nobody expects Wheatley! Which is a shame, because he's great, but it's understandable. On the one hand, you have GLaDOS, who was scientifically engineered to be fucking hilarious at every possible moment. And then in the other corner you have Chell, a fine self insert to insert your sense of self into, who shoots things when you tell her to. But people often overlook this little metal ball of idiocy, and what he brings to the table. First, he brings a very different kind of humor to the table that I think tends to go a bit underappreciated by the audience, and I'm not just talking about the slapstick and general incompetency, although that is also top notch. Honestly, just his inane ramblings are fucking comedy gold on their own that I could listen to for hours. He's also surprisingly arguably a more effective antagonist than GLaDOS. I went into Portal 2 almost completely blind, and while GLaDOS's insults were funny, they never really like stung or anything. There wasn't any real substance to it, it was just a one-sided hatred from my perspective. But Wheatley? When he did his heel-turn, I was in active shock. It took me several seconds to fully process what the fuck had just occurred. Unlike GLaDOS, there was a genuine bond formed, and breaking that opened so many doors despite slamming my fingers in them. And highlights what he does incredibly well. He brings a certain element of chaos and danger that GLaDOS could never have due to the fact that she has a functional sense of self preservation. With GLaDOS, you know what you're in for. She's gonna try to kill you, but she's gonna do it through elaborate traps and her patent pending Aperture Science Testing Chambers, but never directly, and she sticks to those rules. She is bound to them, and because of that you can plan around them and monkey your way out of it. But Wheatley? Wheatley in charge of Aperture is like a ticking time bomb without the watch. He doesn't even know what the rules are, otherwise he wouldn't mash two testing tracks together like a four-year-old smashing two lego master-builder sets together and almost accidentally killing you in the process.
3: Madeline, from Celeste. She is trans and I can project myself onto that

4: Nope, you're not getting off that easy. The actual thing about Maddy is that, genderisms aside, I don't think I've ever felt quite as seen as I have with her. Celeste, by all accounts, is a very simple game. Both in terms of story and mechanics. The story is you climb a magical mountain in Canada, and the mechanics are run, jump, and climb. But it's how these two interplay to put you in the mindset of her, how anxiety hounds you, how it unnerves and undermines you, getting you stuck doing the same things making the same mistakes over and over again, is where Madeline really strikes a chord with me. And the game really doesn't shy away from how "tricks" and coping techniques can help but they're not a cure-all, they don't always work. Your fears and worries will break through, and you can try to ignore them, or leave them behind entirely, but you really can't. The only way to deal with them is to accept them for what they are, that they're just a part of you but you nonetheless and need to work with them. Her frankly snippy personality is also appreciated, because like, while it's not the nicest thing it's refreshing to see someone who's kinda just really tired of people act on that annoyance even if it's not strictly other people's fault for setting it off. And also her being trans just really brings it in for me
Actual number 4: This may be because I'm a horny shill, or maybe because I would prefer to liken myself as something of a philosopher, but I find myself drawn to 2B and her plights and think that the world of Nier:Automata provides some of the most profound and insightful moments modern gaming can offer. She's something of a stoic hardass, meant to be unfeeling of the world around her but still taking note of the absurdity of it all and sometimes going along with the unexpected asides from the farce she finds herself in. For all intents and purposes, she's just a cog in the machine, just a perfect mindless unthinking AI soldier in a proxy war with machine enemies that has spanned millennia. But as much as she plays the part, she can't help but display an overt world-weary awareness of her role that she's lived and relived time and time again. It may be only displayed subtly most of the time, but those tinges in her interactions quickly bleed out once you get a fuller picture of the story at hand.
5: Ok, as tempted as I was to put a FromSoft character here, even I have to admit that I find their interactable NPC's rather lacking. And while I like a fair amount of them, I would never call them my top of the list favorites. Instead, I'll go with my favorite companion who is trapped in one of my least favorite games, Curie from Fallout 4. I'll try to keep this spoiler free since I think you've been playing it and I don't wanna ruin anything for you, but simply put Curie is a sweetheart. You find her long abandoned in what was one of the most monstrous vaults designed, made purely to violate every medical ethics code in the book, but she spends her days toiling away trying to create medicines instead. After nearly 200 years alone, she's eager to explore the world, and she just has this bright-eyed curiosity about the wasteland that's rather infectious. Where most people see ruins and decay, she sees resilience and life persisting, and that kind of optimism in such a jaded setting hits like a hot shower after a filthy day outside. She's not terribly complicated, but she doesn't need to be

MAIRIMASHITA! IRUMA-KUN
I read new manga chapters as they get translated so feel free to incorporate anything from the manga that’s available in English. I’m also fine with a fic based on anime.
Kirio Amy/Suzuki Iruma
There are many good ships with Iruma, but this one just has a lot things I like. I love enemy ships with both sides being way too emotionally invested into each other so this was inevitable. I love how this relationship starts as this really wholesome friendship and school festival preparation, except Kirio turns out to be a bit messed up and wants to blow up everyone. But then they both accept the outcome and go on with their lives still thinking about each other. Iruma goes through a lot of trouble to keep the club operating even though Kirio has been pretty much expelled. And then Kirio is now obsessed with Iruma as his anthitesis and perfect enemy.
I’m okay with the potential story happening at any point in the canon. I would love both a story set before the festival while Kirio is still hiding his true colors or a story set after it. Maybe Iruma runs into Kirio somewhere after he escapes prison and instead of calling an adult, he tries to stop Kirio from causing trouble on his own. Or Kirio much to surprise of all his allies, despite being a known basher of evidols, suddenly develops obsession with the mysterious newcomer evidol Irumi. As for pre-festival story. Maybe some upperclassmen steal important parts from the club and Iruma and Kirio set out to get them back.
Naberius Kalego & Suzuki Iruma
I love Kalego for being a much better take on Snape than original Snape ever was. The second the series made Kalego Iruma’s familiar I knew this was about to get good. And it was. I love how Kalego slowly warms up to Iruma, even if he is still allergic to his and Sullivan’s antics. I love that Kalego is actually a competent teacher who cares about his students, but at the same time he would rather eat a whole lemon than admit it out loud.
For prompts, maybe Sullivan ends up having an important business and Opera isn’t available so he dumps looking after Iruma on Kalego for a few days. Or Iruma is struggling with studying since so many things are new for him, so Kalego ends up forced to help him catch up with the material (inclusion of Balam is always welcome). Or maybe Iruma gets into usual trouble ends up stranded somewhere and the only one he can call for help is his familiar. What if Kalego figured out that Iruma is a human?
Crocell Kerori | Kuromu/Gyari
One of the last thing I expected to get was a canonical yuri romance in this manga, but here it is and it’s perfect. I love how it is pretty much built on mutual pining. I love how Kuromu loves Gyari, but refuses to reciprocate her feelings, because she knows that she needs to remain unattainable to keep their relationship alive, and I love how Gyari is never ever going to give up.
I would love to see more of the time when they worked together. We know it was love at the first sight for Gyari, but I would love to see how Kuromu’s feelings grew. Those hours they spent together practicing, maybe a not-date where they sneak together to scout a venue where they will be having their first big concert, or maybe a small contest that would sow the seeds for their future rivalry. I would love any and all of it. Also, Gyari doesn’t seem to be aware of Kuromu’s civilian identity, so I would love a story where Gyari meets Crocell Kerori rather than Kuromu. Does she recognize her? Or does Kerori manage to successfully trick her? Maybe Gyari makes a full investigation after hearing rumors that Kuromu is attending Babylys. I would also love any sort of future fic for those two.
AUs and ships
I love the worldbuilding around the demon world, so I would ask that if you decided to write an AU that it still incorporates demons. I would definitely love an AU where rather than getting summoned to demon world, Iruma accidentally summons either Kirio or Kalego into the human world. Maybe Iruma’s parents try to use him as an offering, but instead he ends up bound to a demon. I would love to see Kirio excited to unleash suffering (even if his weak powers severely limit him in that regard) onto human world just to discover that he made contract with the biggest pacifist possible. Or Kalego being torn between wanting to return home as soon as possible (he has classes to teach!) and wanting to somehow help the weird human child that just keeps getting into trouble. Any other demon-focused AU is also welcome. For Gyari and Kurmou, maybe one of them is a human who ends up summoning the other as a demon. How different would their relationship be then? I’m also fine with any sort of AU divergences scenario. Maybe Iruma keeps accidentally sabbotaging Kirio’s terrorist plans without realizing it. Or Iruma ends up summoning Kalego more often as his familiar when he gets into trouble. What if Gyari also attended Babylys.
As for ships, I’d rather avoid any love triangle scenarios for this canon, so please focus on just one pairing per character (competing for Iruma’s attention is normal for this canon, I’d just rather not see outright romantic competition). It’s self-explainatory for Kirio request, but if you want to include some shipping elements into the other requests I also ship Iruma/Ameri and Kalego/Balam.
REVENGER
Kurima Raizo/Usui Yuen
I love the parallels between those two and how much they understand each other. Yuen’s kindness laced with the understanding that for Raizo continuing to live is a punishmen in itself, and Raizo’s silent acceptance of this fate. Of the fact that he’s reaping consequences of his rash actions and naivety. It’s just so good.
I would love anything that touches on them being artists. Whether it be Yuen’s decorating or Raizo’s drawing, I just really love the discussions about the nature of art in this series. Or more of Yuen’s attempts to make Raizo realize that the life is still worth living. Maybe he tries to show Raizo some beautiful views, hoping it will help. Or perhaps he starts to give him small gifts that he finds beautiful. Or post-canon with Yuen having more feelings than he expected
I’m very okay with Raizo having big angst over how he doesn’t deserve to be loved after he caused his fiancee’s suicide. Maybe he has nightmares about it and Yuen tries to find a way to ease them. I’m also very up for Raizo’s very awkward attempts at expressing his feelings, since it’s obvious it was never his strong suit. I feel like it might lead to some hilarious outcomes, especially because he wouldn’t have a clue how to go about being with someone of the same sex. Like, he had some idea how a marriage with a woman was supposed to go, but he’d likely go around trying to get some advice on how you go about being with another guy. Honestly, he might even need someone’s help to realize he his feelings for Yuen are romantic
Also, while we never got explanation of who Yuen is exactly and how he got into Revenger business, knowing Urobuchi, Yuen is very likely supposed to be the miraculously survivng Amakusa Shiro. The show kept strongly hinting at it, and I will take any sort of breadcrumbs hinting at that headcanon with gratitude
AUs and ships
No setting changes please. I just love how deeply stepped into the time period Revenger is. I would however love any sort of canon divergence. Like, I’m obviously fine with changing the ending. But it would also be interesting to see what if the situation with opium played out differently. Like, what if they formed an alliance with the Chinese group? Or what if they ended up working alongside the other group of Revengers? Or openly rebelled against Chapel? There are just so many interesting what ifs. I also think roleswaps could be very fun with this canon. Or a character being caught into a time loop
I don’t mind mentions of Raizo’s time with his fiancee before she died
BUDDY DADDIES
Kurusu Kazuki & Suwa Rei  
Kurusu Kazuki/Suwa Rei
My platonic ideal of this series is the very first scene we see with the cool car chase and our two protagonists cornering their mark. Only for the tense interrogation they are putting their target through to get interrupted by phone call and an ensuing bickering because Miri had gotten sick and how dare Rei not notice. The guy they cpatured tries to use that moment to escape, only to get shot, since the protagonists don’t have time to deal with him anymore. They have sick child to take care of. And like, I enjoyed the rest of the series, but that one scene was just the undistilled essence of what I found the most entertaining.
I’m fine with both platonic and romantic take on Kazuki’s and Rei’s relationship. I just really enjoyed the domesticity they built up together and how grounded their relationship felt. Like, it obviously started from convenience with Kazuki having nowhere to go and Rei being completely unpreapared for living alone. But somewhere along their partnership, they forged a really strong bond where they both realize that they need each other, even if they don’t exactly put into words.
For more platonic prompts, I’d love to see the beginnings of their cohabitation. What sort of arguments they had at the start? What kind of compromises they had to make? We know that Rei tried to adopt a cat. Were then other attempts he made at having an animal? Did they acquire a cat after the event of canon? On that note, I’d love any exploration of what happened post-canon. How did their dinner operation start? Were they forced to use any of their assassin skills despite retirement? Did they develop a rivalry with a neighbourhood Italian restaurant that’s definitely not lead by some similarly retired mafia members? On similar topic, did Rei and Kazuki have scuffles with other assassin groups when they were still active? What if they had to compete with someone for the same target?
For more romantic prompts, I’d love exploration of how their cohabitation could turn into something more. As well as the two of them kinda finding the right shape of their relationship. Like, I’d love to see them trying to do some general couple things, but not everything quite sticking. Like for example, maybe they try to sleep in the same bed, but it turns out that Rei isn’t quiet ready to abandon the safety of the bathtub. Or Kazuki realizes he can’t enjoy one of typical couple activities since it reminds him too much of his time with his wife. Kazuki and Rei just have such different types of trauma and the idea of them finding ways to be happy despite it all really fascinating.
I’d also love fumbling displays of affection happening at awkward moments during their assassin jobs. Does the gun need a big red ribbon on it? No, but it’s the thought that counts.
I enjoy Miri and Kyu (and other secondary characters), so don’t hesitate to include them if you wish.
AUs and ships
I think a setting change could be pretty fun as long as Rei and Kazuki continue to work as assassins or have similar profession. Different time periods, fantasy AUs, or such could be really interesting for them. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a different take on the ending, maybe they find a different way to convince Rei’s dad to leave them alone and stay in the business. Or they do give up on being assassins, but rather than opening a dinner they choose some other job. AU where Kazuki and Rei are actually a comedian and oil baron, but they give everyone the wrong impression that they are assassins due to Rei’s awkward wording (and him playing too much FPSes) and Kazuki being bad at jokes.
I wouldn’t mind a deeper look into Kazuki’s relationship with his wife (especially since we see him struggle with comparing what he lost and what he has now in anime).
BOCCHI THE ROCK (ANIME)
I've only seen anime, please no manga spoilers.
Hitori Gotou/Nijika Ichiji
I loved how Nijika literally pulled Bocchi out of her funk and into becoming a member of a band. Those two just work so well together with Nijika managing the team on practical level while Bocchi is the emotional core that keeps it together. I especially loved the quiet moment they had after their successful concert where Nijika confides in Bocchi about her reason for starting the band
I’d love to see them going out together somewhere. Maybe Bocchi wants to go to a concert of a certain band and only Nijika can go there as her social support. Or she needs to buy something that she can only get in person. Or they end up separated during a band hangout and have to find their way back.
For some more ideas, what if Bocchi starts to despair about the subscriptions on her youtube channel falling down and enlists Nijika’s help with brainstorming how to raise the numbers (since Nijika is the only one who knows that Bocchi is Guitarhero) and they end up getting into shenanigans.
Or you can just jump straight into Bocchi overheating as she’s catastophising hundred ways in which her love confession will fail. Or going way overboard with her confession making it like a giant public event before realizing she can’t stand the amount of attention this has generated and failing. It’d also be fun to explore what they’d be like in established relationship. Would Nijika’s presence help ground Bocchi? How would Bocchi show her affection to Nijika?
Hitori Gotou & Futari Gotou
Sister bonding! I loved the relationship between the sisters even if it was happening mostly in the background. Futari might talk shit about her sister, but she seems to genuinely enjoy her presence even going as far as making her summer homework focus on what Bocchi was doing when she was barely doing anything
I’d love it if Futari took interest in music and asked Bocchi to teach her some basics (not necessary playing the guitar, but maybe trying to understand the music theory), because she wants to be able to compliment her big sister’s music properly. In general I just want Bocchi to get a chance to be a responsible older sister. Maybe she ends up in situation where she has to take care of Futari and use all her courage to pull through unfamiliar situations
Or maybe Futari wants to put on a show for their parents as a present and asks Bocchi to play the music while she does it, so the two of them try to work together in secret to make it a surprise, while Bocchi has to work through her hangups about playing very upbeat songs
AUs and ships
I’d prefer no setting changes. Though I actually wouldn’t mind exploring what if instead of guitar Bocchi (and other characters) dove into a different kind of hobby. Bocchi as an artist joining an art circle would be hilarious to give an example.

TOTAL FANTASY KNOCKOUT
I’m fine with story based on either anime or manga, I’m caught up with both.
Jinguuji Tsukasa/Tachibana Hinata
Childhood friends who are practically inseparable and strongly dependent on each other? That’s already perfect, but now throw into it a crazy goddess who isekais both of them, turns one of them into a girl, throws an unspecified curse, and forces those two to confront the fact that their feelings for each other might go beyond friendship? That’s beyond perfect. That’s galaxy brain and I want more of that mishmash of tropes.
I’m all about everyday interactions and weird rpg shenanigans they get into, so you can never go wrong with leaning into it. But for something else: What if at some point one of them got returned back to their original world? How would the other cope? Would they be able to establish communication between the two worlds? How would they go about reuniting?
I would love to see them taking their relationship a step further. I crave all the awkwardness that’s going to come with those two idiots trying to figure out how to admit their feelings to each other. And the inevitable defeat of any villains who get in the way of them having a moment. Will Jinguuji and Tachibana try to go on a date with a disasterous results? Will Jinguuji desperately try to find a dating manual in another world? And will they be able to enjoy a romantic moment without “CHARMED” status ruining it?
Feel free to include any other characters, they are a colorful bunch. Though if you want a suggestion, I’m very partial to Schwartz and Shen
AUs and ships
I don’t want setting changes, though I would enjoy seeing a different spin on how those two dorks get isekaied and under what circumstances they end up inflicting the wrath of Goddess of Love. Or I would love an AU where the goddess doesn’t succeed in her first killing attempt, so she keeps trying to isekai Tachibana and Jinguuji keeps foiling her plans every time (or maybe he fails at some point?). What if the curse placed by the goddess manifests in some other ridiculous ways? What if Shwartz wormed his way into the protagonists’ party and third-wheeled like only he can?
Feel free to include any one-sided crushes from canon.
LOVE AFTER WORLD DOMINATION

Aikawa Fudou/Magahara Desumi
When I was starting this series I didn’t expect to stumble into a wholesome romance, but here we are and I absolutely love the main duo and everyone else in this sentai-themed bar.
I love that they share hobbies. Desumi being okay with a workout date was so cute, but I would love to see Fudou attempting to take Desumi on a proper date as promised. Or it descends into another workout date anyway, because they want more excitement. Aquarium date would also be great, just saying. I also loved when they set up a confrontation between Gecko and Gelato in the amusement park, so they could sneak out to have fun together. What if they do something similar in another location? 
I’m also always welcome to any Gelato or Gecko shenanigans. I eat that sentai nonsense with a spoon. Maybe Fudou gets invited to Desumi’s family meeting (in Gecko costume, of course) where he gets to experience a true Gecko Christmas. Or Desumi accidentally joins Gelatos on their day off, since she knows half the team at this point. What if Gecko’s and Gelato’s accidentally book the rooms in the same karaoke/dinner/other place of entertainment to celebrate and Fudou and Desumi frantically try to make sure others in their organization don’t realize that their sworn enemies are just behind the wall
If you want something a bit more serious, both Fudou and Desumi mentioned that they want to give up on their current roles at some point and actually lead normal lives. How would their “graduation” look like when it does happen? How would they navigate this new chapter in their lives? How would it change the organizations they are going to leave behind?
AUs and ships
I prefer no setting change for this canon. The sentai shenanigans are just too good. I wouldn’t mind some roleswaps between the Gelato and Gecko though. Maybe Fudou is working for Gecko and Desumi is a part of Gelato team? Or maybe someone else is swapped. How different would the story be if they actually got big transforming robots like in Power Rangers?
I prefer the reationships between all characters to stay the same as in canon.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?
I do struggle with writing, often, but the trick with this question is finding a case where the work isn't evident in the final product. For something like Traitor's Face, I think the size, scope, and intensity of the story reflects the amount of planning and rewriting.
However, I think "Samsara: Mai's Long Day" (AO3, FF.net) comes across as less complex than the writing was. It's a 'Goundhog Day story,' which in this case means it's a rip-off of the Bill Murray comedy about a day-long timeloop rather than making heavy use of an American rodent-centered holiday. I wrote it for a Maiko Week, and it's a good thing I started way ahead of time, because those first two chapters got the most revisions/rewrites out of my entire fanfic oeuvre. And this is despite having extensive outlining!
In this case, it wasn't that I was dissatisfied by the earlier drafts, but simply that as I was writing, I kept improvising little things which I would then have to go back and add to the first two timeloops. And, of course, if I needed to tweak a line of dialogue to work better in Chapter 5, then I'd have to go back and make the same change in all the other chapters- and possibly rewrite things so that the same change could work in all the other chapters. Normally, adding something to a location or rewriting a whole conversation isn't even worth noting, just a part of the writing and revising process. But the nature of the timeloop thing just magnified the work and complexity.
This was also one of the few stories where I put extensive thought into the mechanics and construction. Normally, things like scene breaks, POV, narration, etc are either boilerplate that don't require any thought or raise a few quick creative decisions when doing something a bit more stylized. But this was one of the few non-stylized stories where I made myself slow down and examine all the nuts and bolts again. Given the nature of the timeloops, I didn't want any confusion in readers about which loop a scene takes place in, or the scale of the amount of loops happening, or anything like that. I wanted it to be a story where the reader doesn't have to think about anything except the characters and the plot (until the story is complete, at least). So I did some prework, reading various 'Groundhog Day'-type stories and analyzing how they worked- if they worked. One of the decisions which came out of that was making each timeloop its own 'scene,' with section breaks only being used to denote a new loop; that gave me full control over the loop-pacing, even allowing me to use it to imply loops that aren't seen. A lot of my presentation was informed by my research, so I'm glad I put in the effort.
I probably didn't need to put that much thought into things, but I'm a kind of engineer, so when I build something, I build something.
So that's one part of the answer. But for all that, I didn't really struggle with "Samsara." The story that I maybe struggled with the most is "Black & Blue." (AO3, FF.net) I don't think I've talked about it much, at least not publicly, but there was a whole Act in that story which I mostly wrote but trashed. At the beginning of the published story, Mai is traveling and encounters the Blue Spirit, and after a scuffle with him, moves on to her destination, where they wind up running into each other again, and shenanigans continue from there. However, the concept for the story was originally meant to be more of an homage/parody to certain types of Zutara fanfics, and something common to those stuff set in Books Water and Earth is that one or the other gets captured and there's a whole captor/prisoner bonding arc. I figured Mai encountering the Blue Spirit would offer a good way to get the same dynamic, since otherwise they'd both already know each other, so any bonding with the prisoner would be limited. I was going to start off Mai and the Blue Spirit with their fight leading to them getting stranded in the wilderness for a chapter, and Zuko takes Mai as his captive for a bit.
This is the whole reason I failed to start posting the fic in time for the Maiko Week it was intended for, because I COULD NOT make this Act work at all. I never did any from-scratch rewrites, but I was constantly rewriting small sections, trying to get any life out of the proceedings. But it never worked. The dialogue was either boring or trying too hard. The events were either vacuous or way too involved. The romance was either nonexistent or too forced. I've enjoyed Blutara fics, but I could simply not make the same thing work here, either because the swap of Katara for Mai changed the nature too much, or the wider story was just putting too much pressure on this Act, or maybe it was just a stupid concept. So I ended up deleting the whole Act, not finishing it and throwing away everything I'd wrote, and beefed up the later plot to be more of the story.
This was the correct decision, because I still think this fic works really well. Having a Maiko version of Zutara tropes would have been cute, but by nature, the stories I was drawing from are a bit more sedate in terms of plot. "Black & Blue," by contrast, has a really nice escalation and sense of energy, skipping along in a way that's as flirty as the main characters. In the end, its true nature is a Romantic Caper, not a Romantic Capture. And my second attempt really nailed that.

Posted with no tags because I honestly just want to post my thoughts into the void, plus don’t want to upset the crowd that put blog peter on a pedestal as they’re entitled to their opinions and everyone has different thoughts on the same thing. Mostly just ill today and getting my thoughts down somewhere.
Ok, so I very occasionally see people state that they believe the Tumblr blog was false advertisement and/or Blog Peter is too different to game Peter. Everyone has their own impression and opinions but I just don’t see it or get it? I think it down to 4 major things.
1) People read and took in what they wanted to from the blog. Ignoring the implications of any darker posts.
2) Peter lacks agency in the blog. There is no player character to interact with for him to actually do anything and therefore you can assume he wouldn’t do anything to bad.
3) There were a lot of lighter, fluffier questions because that's what people wanted to ask. Game Peter is also sweet, but he’s on a time limit and has agency so you don’t get as much as the blog. While blog Peter went from 2019 till 2021, had no agency and got mostly sweet questions.  
4) the games time to tell a story is limited the blog went from 2019 till 2021 and had all the time in the word to focus on more mundane things. While the game has to, you know, tell a story, keep you hooked etc.
There's more to it then just the above but I think these are the 4 key points. I’ll go into each in more detail but for transparency my introduction to the game was seeing day 1 played, reading the website, reading through the blog in full, looking through the deviant art stuff, THEN playing the game. 
I surprisingly didn’t get day 2 or 3 spoiled until I played them. I can’t usually stand dating sims when they are just dating sims. I cringe and dialogue etc BUT I really like dating sims with some kind of twist, so like horror or comedy. I mostly stick to more traditional video games and not really VN. 
So, I looked into this because it seemed interesting but also to try and figure out if I would like it. I went into it wondering how much it would be horror and how much it would be a dating sim. I personally had no expectations of it falling either way. Even after reading through the Tumblr. Basically, I figured it could go full horror with the fake dating sim opening or just a spice of horror but mostly dating sim and anywhere else on that spectrum.
1) Ignoring the bad. Lots of these are from 2019.

Again important that this version of Peter is UNABLE to do anything physical. The ask blog just had him stuck in a white void. There is no player character to act as avatar for the player. He is behind the screen ONLY able to use words. He is also unlikely to say anything to scare away his audience and yet he is still threatening to do exactly what he would go on to do in the game. Posts like this are scattered throughout the blog. 
I will show more examples. But yeah, I do wonder how people think he would manage to tie you to the bed but in like a soft none hurty way. Like blog Peter threatens to take away my agency, but he's super vague about it and therefore not as cruel as game Peter :) 
He’s also skipping out the middle man here, he isn’t talking with Y/N and he isn’t talking to any other NPC that would just resurrect when the game loops around again. He is talking to YOU.

And some more examples! These are from 2019 when the blog started. Just Peter threatening murder, doing “Anything” to keep you and also disregarding your feelings in a threatening manner! 
And again important note THIS PETER HAS NO AGENCY. He isn’t able to take any action against you. There is no vessel for the player. He is behind a screen and still threatening to do stuff. 
The horror element of the blog came from leaving that up to your interpretation of what he could do. A basic rule of horror is to sometime leave stuff up to the imagination of the viewer! We have a tendency of (for survival) imagining the worst possible outcome. However, if you had solely focused on the cuter posts you MAY also simply over look these posts or give him the benefit of the doubt that he surely wouldn’t do anything to bad. But like come on these were absolutely advertisements for the horror element of the game.
Plus, you know, the whole manipulation thing. If he can’t do anything to keep your attention then he’ll be all bubbly and sweet to keep you there and these asks are likely a glimpse into a less controlled version of him slipping through.
2) Peter lacking agency.

I have already touched on this in the above but its exactly what it says on the tin. Blog Peter had to rely more on manipulation then anything physical because he had no avatar of the player and therefore no (almost) physical access to them. 
Side note: I feel like I should also point out that I personally don’t see Peter as someone that would point blank commit r*pe or do more damage then he thinks he has to. 
It is however important to point out that he is aware that Y/N is an avatar for the player. He is aware that none of them are real in the same sense that we are and therefore he is able to manipulate himself into thinking his actions aren’t THAT bad or at the very least excusable to get what he wants. 
What does it matter if he kills TK, they’ll be back when the game loops. Knocking Y/N out is just a game mechanics to get from one place without issue to another. He’s would do ANYTHING (refer to image 3 above) to keep YOUR attention. That's were the horror element comes from. How corrupted can he get, how much of this is our fault? I mean we are the one playing the game over and over. Putting him through this over and over to the point that its corrupted him. Etc. Etc. Like really all of this is for another post, but thought it best to mention. 
3) Fluffier questions. They were answering what people asked and a lot of questions were the typical, “What's your favourite colour Peter!” kinda thing. The game doesn’t have the time to focus on any of this. It also would be horrible story telling if it just randomly had a 20 minute section of just this stuff. So peters sweeter moments are far narrowed down. Examples of questions for the blog below that  you just could fit the same quantity you got in the blog on the game. 
Also, if you just so happened to focus on these questions and focus less or point blank ignored the implications of darker questions then I can understand if you thought he was practically harmless, but it isn’t as if it wasn’t advertised. You just ignored it.

4)The games time to tell a story is limited the blog went from 2019 till 2021 and had all the time in the word to focus on more mundane things. While the game has to, you know, tell a story, keep you hooked etc.
Again this is kind of on the tin. Not much I can add to this. The game has multiple routes. To try and make it make sense they have to be careful about what they put into the game and the more they put in the more complex it is and the more they open themselves to plot holes etc. 
You do get examples of Peter being sweet but they also have to crack on with the story and actually get to the horror, the game to me was ALWAYS advertised as a horror dating sim. I don’t think there was false advertisement at any point. At least not on purpose. There were always plenty of warnings. Its not like DDLC which had a health warning followed by 3-4 hours of a dating sim and then a horror game. The signs were there form early in the blog in 2019! A lot of these post are from 2019! And the website etc always showed it to be a horror dating sim. Even the character designs lean towards horror over dating sim.
Some minor points as well are the idea that if you followed the blog and didn’t go through it, there is a good chance you could have missed some of the darker posts and saw more of the wholesome posts as they were posted. Unintentional from the creators, but you would have ended up with a different impression and once you have a set thought on the guy you tend to down play or ignore anything that contradicts the idea of him being a good boy and focus on stuff that proves that point of view.
I also don’t think Peter is capable of really extreme shit that you see in games that are JUST horror. He is very corrupted and WILL do fucked up shit, but usually it’s if he’s pushed (abuse route or running out of options) and again, he’s working in a universe were none of them are real, his actions don’t have any lasting impact and Y/N isn’t actually their but just a device for the player to be attached to. He knows all this. The guy has likely gone through the game already like a zillion times at this point with no sign that it’s going to stop and he is programed to be obsessively in love with you by a creator that fucking loves to destroy him. And YOU are putting him through this again and again. Maybe even torturing him a bit each time. He has like groundhog day morals at this point, because none of it’s gonna stick anyway and he has to have you. All stuff that makes it a horror game in different ways.
So, I personally don’t get the false advertisement argument like at all? Also, hopefully goes without saying, either way I do not condone anything Peter does in either the blog or game that is morally wrong, but I think part of the horror comes from how much you the player and Peter’s moral compass can be corrupted based on circumstances. Like what he and you the player are capable of doing while talking yourself around to thinking its ok or that it’s somehow deserved.
Just thoughts on something I didn’t ever get when I saw it. Posted without tags on a blog with zero followers because this blog is just to shoot my thoughts into the void to be honest. If this is found, I am also not trying to shit on anyone’s opinions, these are just my thoughts and I am not saying my views are anymore right than anyone elses! It just always confused me that people make excuses/ play up blog Peter to be a completely different character than the game version? But maybe it’s because I came into the game from a background of playing video games in general, with a good helping of horror.

Murderbot fics I have in the works (some of these have a fair amount written but I only ever finished the one I already have posted)
Murderbot Batfam crossover - Murderbot fall in a portal and meets the Batfam. it can't immediately understand them and there's some errors in communication and attempts to fix that. they bond with it over their favorite media
Muderbot Batfam fusion - does not actually include Muderbot. there's a different SecUnit who's Jason Mark II and works together with the future Batfam to try to take out Corporate Entities just like, as a whole
All The Company Equipment - this one is supposed to be short but I still only have like half of it written. it's just from the perspective of a bunch of other murderbots and their openings for stories that start the same way
Only Murderbots In The Building - this is Only Murders, but it's set on Preservation and they're very concerned about whether or not the murderbot did the murders (the answer is no and it's very offended that you would ask btw)
Murderbot's Long-lost Evil Twin - novel length story about a different SecUnit that Murderbot learns to be friends with. I started writing it before I got to Three, so it's not Three and it's not anything like it, and Three won't factor in but
untitled Three story - this one is about Three and its early starts at figuring out humans. it's supposed to be a comedy? so there's a runaway B-E technician following it trying to 'rescue' it. also Three starts dating Ratthi to see how that works
Floating Point Operation - a crossover with Avenue 5 that's a retelling of the show from Murderbot's perspective (if the security on their ships were normally handled by SecUnits). so it takes the same scenario and puts it in a much more near future situation, where Murderbot slowly reveals to people that it's rogue and possibly would very much like to kill them (because they're all trapped on a ship together and none of them are not annoying)
Murderbot pokemon crossover - I'll admit this one isn't actually going anywhere I just thought Murderbot would have a lot in common with abused and abandoned pokemon so I was thinking about it
amnesia fic - throwing the various groups of supporting cast from the different novels together, and then they all get amnesia (from some alien remnant) and Murderbot is thrown back to before the first book. featuring an OC who is convinced Murderbot is its SecUnit and that it makes sense they'd be there together and Murderbot has to play along and pretend to be a good little murderbot
DeltFall - the first Muderbot book from the perspective of one of the DeltFall units. you know I'm a sucker for tragedy and an ending we already know
Failure. Retry? - time travel story from the perspective of the other DeltFall Unit who managed to find a working time machine to try to save all the SecUnits and is now stuck in an unending time loop watching all its friends die. this one will probably have a happy ending at the end but it may end up that canon is the happiest ending they can get
Monkeybot - it's like. what if Monkey Prince. were. you know. he's not a god he's a SecUnit? also it's the future
murderbot modern AU - look I don't have a story for this one yet. all I've got is: Murderbot realizes it's nb through fic, and then tries to write more fic about trans characters to flesh out their stories, and to add trans characters to stories that don't have them, as part of its journey. obv it was abused as a kid somehow??? and the Preservation crew are its new coworkers or something? but half the fun of this is like. there's so many components and how would they slot into the world as we know it. I don't have good answers but I'll update you as I go. this story would be told in a lot of artifacts

Damn, it's really been a while since I've done this, huh? But I never forgot about it. How could I? It's such a brilliant idea for an alignment chart! So without further ado, here's the glorious return of
THE PRO WRESTLING FAN ALIGNMENT CHART: DANGANRONPA V3 EDITION!!!
(Skipping DR3 mostly because it's been way too long since I've seen it and I already had a hard enough time doing this with characters I am more familiar with)
Some quick explanations for those of you who need them... which is probably everyone:
Mark: Pro wrestling target audience
Smark: Pro wrestling fandom (into behind-the-scenes stuff, "know-it-all" fans, etc.)
Wrestling is srs bsns: Wants wrestling to be taken super seriously; no comedy wrestling allowed so help me god
Watches DDT: Can watch Kota Ibushi wrestle a blow-up doll on loop for hours on end
With that out of the way, some rationalizations:
Let's start with Himiko. It's no surprise that she's neither a mark nor a smark, because she is the goddamn promotion, baby. She is the only one in this entire chart that is taking kayfabe fucking seriously. You want to go out there and destroy the business? Spill all the fucking beans? Not on her watch. She could be on trial for murder and she would still hold kayfabe because that is just what you gotta do to keep the business alive. Kayfabe is in her blood, her fucking veins. Don't fuck with kayfabe or Himiko will fuck you back. ...Bad choice of words, there.
Keebo and Kirumi don't understand the appeal of watching Kota Ibushi wrestle a blow-up doll. Maki wants to murder the next person that tries to send her a link to that video... which would probably be Kokichi, who I guarantee would have sent that link to over half of the people in this chart.
Kokichi is a smark with a little bit of a mark streak. Miu thinks she's a smark, and certainly acts like one, but she also thinks that every move is called a Dupree Bomb thanks to a certain YouTube channel. Both of them absolutely would watch Kota Ibushi wrestle a blow-up doll for hours on end and send the link to everyone they know afterwards.
Tenko thinks you'd have to be a degenerate male to watch something as depraved as... well... Kota Ibushi blah blah blow-up doll blah blah blah. Thank female Christ that The Amazing Himiko is here to remind us all that professional wrestling is a legitimate sport and not at all athletic theater.
Rantaro is one smarky motherfucker but he don't give two shits about how serious the product is. Plus you know Ibushi is kinda hot, he can do whatever he wants with that blow-up doll as far as Rantaro is concerned. Kokichi agrees with that sentiment.
Korekiyo is an anthropologist. He would absolutely be interested in whatever cultural phenomenons led to... again, the blow-up doll thing. I'm referencing that a lot today, but for good reason. Imagine, if you will, thousands of years from now, archeologists and anthropologists stumble upon a video of a man wrestling a blow-up doll, and it is all they have to go on for knowing of our time as everything else is lost. How will they understand us? How will they come to know us? Therefore, such studies are of absolute importance. Kiyo knows this, and now, so do you. Embrace your knowledge. Embrace your wisdom. Embrace the blow-up doll. I have no idea what the fuck I'm saying anymore.
Shuichi would definitely be more of a mark than Kaede and would definitely take wrestling more seriously. Angie, ever the artist, transcends the title of mark and smark much like Sakura before her, but views pro wrestling as an art form where anything is possible, even five star matches with blow-up dolls. Tsumugi wants you to believe that she's just some plain old mark when in reality she's the smarkiest of them all. Ryoma just doesn't really care all that much. Kaito and Gonta still haven't figured out yet that wrestling is fake.
I have no explanations for the bears because I don't really care. Fuck 'em. Except Monokuma. And the red one, he's alright I guess.

CG's finally managed to open a line with Jade, but he had to jump months into the past to do so. I guess he gave up trying with Present Jade, who’s got enough on her plate already.
GG: what do you want????? CG: I JUST HAVE TO DELIVER A MESSAGE AND THEN I'LL GO. CG: IT IS A MESSAGE FROM YOU, SO YOU PROBABLY OUGHT TO LISTEN. GG: this is nonsense
He’s on an errand from a future Jade? It’s a little odd that she'd use CG as a go-between for this, since she knows her past self won’t take him seriously. 
It makes more sense for her to message Past Jade herself. Maybe she just doesn’t have the capability to send messages through time - we don’t know how the trolls are doing it, and it might require technology only they have access to. A programmer could configure a troll’s Pesterchum account to act as a relay for Jade-to-Jade communication, but the only programmer around is John the novice.
I really hope there’s a good reason for this. Another disturbing possibility is that she’s only communicating through CG because she remembers it happening this way, rather than for any logical reason. That’s one aspect of loop-flavor time travel that’s always frustrated me - the loss of character agency.
CG: I'LL KEEP GIVING YOU A HARD TIME, BUT SEE THAT WON'T BE PRESENT ME. CG: THAT'S PAST ME. CG: FROM LIKE A HALF HOUR AGO OR SO, WHEN I WAS MORE HOT AND BOTHERED ABOUT ALL THIS, OK?
Project Trolling died in, at most, thirty minutes. 
The more I hear about the trolls, the more they seem like comedy characters.  
CG: SEE WE'RE TRYING TO TALK TO YOU IN THE FUTURE, AND IT'S IMPORTANT, BUT YOU WON'T ANSWER US. CG: SO WE TALKED TO YOU WAAAY IN THE FUTURE TO ASK HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH NOT-SO-FUTURE YOU. CG: ARE YOU FOLLOWING?
I think so. 
The trolls need to contact Present Jade, the one who’s getting started with Sburb. In desperation, they’ve leveraged their nonlinear messaging capabilities to contact Future Jade, from later in the comic, to ask her how to do this. 
She tells them to contact her four months in the past, with a particular message that will make her more amenable to communication at a specific, upcoming point in the timeline. It’s unclear at this point whether Future Jade crafted this message manually, or if it’s just the message she remembers getting. 
CG: YOU KNOW YOUR ROBOT? [...] CG: LATER ON IT WILL BLOW UP FOR SOME REASON. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHY. GG: this is the worst prank youve ever pulled!!!!!! CG: QUIET. CG: ANYWAY, WHEN IT HAPPENS YOU WON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. CG: THE THING TO DO IS TO CONTACT US.
Why would Jade’s Dream Robot explode? 
It could get destroyed by her meteor, but then Future Jade could just have said ‘contact the trolls when you enter the Medium’. Besides, the thing is blowing up. That doesn't sound like it’s being destroyed by an external force, is sounds like it’s malfunctioning. 
I’ve speculated that Jade might lose access to Skaia’s clouds, and this seems like more fuel for that fire. Something’s going to go wrong with Skaia, Prospit or the Dreamer mechanic, and it’s going to happen soon.

Crack. That’s the sound of your heart breaking, ripped to pieces in just a few seconds. And no, you were not exaggerating. Seeing your boyfriend kissing someone else while taking off their clothes would do that to a person. And in his office of all places.
How did you not see that coming? They had a lot in common and they did spend a lot of time together but you were just so naïve thinking that he was the most trust-worthy person ever that you looked the other way and believed him when he told you she was “just a friend”. 
Just a friend my ass you thought as you calmly walked to your room. No running, that would draw attention to you and you didn’t need that. No crying either, because once you started you wouldn’t be able to stop. Walking down the hallway and taking the elevator to your floor feels like it takes forever. 
Time is funny that way. It has that annoying tendency to slow down or speed up at the worst times. Like when you were in college and the clock seemed to literally stop, you would look at the time and it was 10:20 am and check again after what felt like half an hour for it to be 10:25 am. Or like when you are having fun with your friends at a club and you see it’s 12:30 but when you look again a few minutes later it’s 2:40. Right now it feels like the former, time seems to have slowed down. Maybe Dr. Strange did something to it? No, that’s stupid, he wouldn’t play with time that way.
Finally the elevator pings open and you rush to your room. Well, it’s not only your room anymore. You share it with him and everything is a reminder of what you just saw. The art supplies on the desk by the window, the famous shield leaning against the wall near the door, the messy bed where you sleep together every night …
And every single thing brings tears to your eyes until finally, the dam breaks and you let the tears fall down. You bring your hand to your mouth to muffle a sob that brings you to your knees. Crying is the only thing you can do right now because your brain is stuck on a loop. All you can see is Steve kissing her, unbuttoning her shirt with one hand while the other grabbed her ass. And all you can hear are their moans, Sharon’s whimper when he touched her and his groan as he did so. 
And now you are full on crying and choking on air because that scene keeps replaying itself over and over no matter how much you want it to stop. And you do, Gosh you do because there is so much your heart can take and this is too much. It shatters you in more ways than one. It makes you question everything you thought you knew about him, about her, about your relationship and about yourself.
You remember the first time you met him. You were already in college and looking for an internship. Luckily you happened to be the niece of the one and only Pepper Potts. And who wouldn’t want to work near Earth's mightiest heroes? You sure did. You were studying journalism and communications in New York and working with the Avengers was the ultimate dream, one that was about to come true.
Your first day was uneventful, it consisted mainly of coffee runs, delivering files and passing messages along. That was until your third coffee run where you ran straight into a wall, well actually it wasn’t a wall but it felt like it. The coffee spilled everywhere, on your clothes and his, and you were going to fall on your butt if it wasn’t for him grabbing your arms to steady you. Imagine your surprise when you looked up to see Captain America himself.
And that’s the moment your love story started. It seemed like something straight out of a romantic comedy and you loved it. It started with flirting, a date and then another, him asking you to be his girlfriend and finally asking you to move in once you graduated. It felt like a fairytale.
Tony wasn't very happy about you and the Capsicle but he saw how happy you were so he tried to be happy too. Tony was your uncle even if you didn’t share any blood. Growing up you would visit your aunty Pepper in New York and he was always around, you even stayed at his house when Pepper and him had to work. So, you two became really close even before he became Iron Man and started dating your aunt. 
The same thing happened with Rhody. Your close relationship with Tony meant you were close to him too, seeing as he was one of the most important people in his life. Rhody treated you like his niece and was the only one he didn’t make fun of which you took as the ultimate compliment. 
So those three you knew before you started working at the compound and before Steve. But once you started working there you met the rest of the Avengers. Being Pepper and Tony's niece and Steve's girlfriend meant they all wanted to get to know you. 
You met Bruce Banner, the Hulk, and you became really close. But that was thanks to his close relation with Tony and all the time you spent with him working on his social media presence to make sure people saw him as more than just the green monster who smashes things. After a while of working there they promoted you and now you manage the Avengers social media.
Nat and Wanda became your best friends from the moment you met. You just clicked and hung out as much as possible, being the only girls on the team meant they were really happy to have another female added to the mix. As for Vision, he liked you because Wanda did, simple as that.
Bucky and Sam were the funniest people ever, their constant bickering always brought a smile to your face and they welcomed you with open arms. Happy that their friend had finally found someone to be with.
Thor and Clint were like the fun uncles you got to see every once in a while. The God of Thunder was like an excited puppy and would hug you till you couldn’t breath every time he came to Earth and Clint would joke around with you and FaceTime you when he was with his kids because they loved you (“best babysitter ever” that called you).
You met Peter when he started working for your uncle. He was a sweet kid and your love of memes, vines and pop culture made you instant friends. He would ask you for advice on girls and tell you science jokes.
But we all know not all fairytales have a happy ending and this one definitely didn’t. You’re feeling so many things at once. There’s anger, sadness, jealousy and something else you can’t put your finger on. You keep crying and are unable to move from your kneeling position on the floor. Checking the clock you realize you’ve been on the floor crying for an hour so you stand up.
Taking a shower seems like the best thing to do, your head is pounding and your face is all puffy. As you shower it hits you, that other feeling swirling around is inevitability. In a way you always thought he was too good for you, you always thought he would eventually get tired of you and trade you for someone else. 
It just hurt too much that it was her, the woman he shared so much with. The niece of Peggy Carter, his first love. An agent of S. H. I. E. L. D.  Someone who risked their life for the world like he did. Someone prettier. Someone better than you.
Yeah, you were definitely on a self-pity party. But you needed to be miserable for a while, to cry it all out, to hurt so that you could move on to the next stage of grief: anger. And when that came, there was no stopping you.
You weren’t a mean person, or a petty one. You gave everyone countless opportunities and forgave way too easily so you never really got angry. But when you did, when you said enough is enough, yeah, you better watch out. That could be the meanest bitch you ever met and she had no mercy.
So you got out of the shower, dried yourself and started getting ready. Tony was throwing yet another party about who knows what and you were not missing it. You liked parties, they were the perfect excuse for wearing pretty dresses and putting on make up. And tonight you were going all out. 
Your inner bitch was concocting a plan and you were going with it.
You hear the door open and prepare yourself to put on the best acting of your life. You take a deep breath and in the sweetest voice you can muster say: “Steve is that you babe?”
“Yeah doll it’s me” you hear him say. A few second later he pops into the bedroom and gives you a peck on the lips as you continue with your makeup.
“How was your day?” Steve asks as he takes off his clothes, probably to take a shower. “I missed you today, i went by your office but you weren’t there” he says with a small frown between his eyes. You could stare at his blue eyes forever but snap out of it when you remember what he did. 
“Oh not much, i left work earlier to get ready for tonight” you answer. Shit your work. You really did leave like that, but after tonight hopefully they’ll understand. “You should start getting ready, the party starts in thirty minutes”.
He smiles at you and tells you he’s going to take a quick shower before getting dressed. He goes to the bathroom and you feel like breaking the mirror but instead take a few deep breaths and remind yourself he’s getting what he deserves later on. With that in mind you finish applying you makeup and smile at yourself, you look good. Moving on to your hair you decide to do some loose waves and that’s it, you really don’t know how to make those complicated updos.
Steve gets out of the shower and starts putting on his suit. Men really do have it easier you think to yourself when you see all the work you had to do and he just showers and that’s it.
You take your dress out of the closet and admire it. It really is beautiful. It has a deep plunging neckline that shows a lot of cleavage and is skin tight with a slit on one side. The fact that it is silver with sequins makes it even better. Pepper helped you pick this dress. 
You put on the dress and admire yourself in the mirror. You look good. Behind you, you hear a whistle and turn around to see Steve watching you lust in his eyes. He comes closer and grabs you by the waist, pulling you to him.
“You look stunning” he says as he wets his bottom lip. “I can’t wait to take it off of you when we get back”. Lying cheating bastard.
“Can't wait” you lie as you wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him. This is just a kiss goodbye you tell yourself. One last kiss before he’s out of your life and probably runs to her. Tears threaten to fill your eyes but you hold them down. Not now.
You break the kiss when the need to breathe is too strong. Grabbing his hand you start walking towards the door and say: “Come on, we’re already late”.

The party had already started once you walk in and in true Tony fashion it is elegant and extravagant. Everyone is there: S. H. I. E. L. D. agents, the Avengers themselves, politicians and a few famous people. 
You and Steve walk to the bar and order drinks. A whiskey for him and a strawberry daiquiri for you, yes you are that basic but hey, it tastes awesome. He offers you his arm and with drinks in your hands you start looking for your friends. A lot of people stop you on the way, nobody wants to miss an opportunity to talk to Captain America.
One thing, or rather on person, catches your attention: Loki. He’s sitting on one of the cushions alone with a drink in his hand. It’s weird to see him there. Sure, he was redeeming himself for what he did in 2012 and Thor said he was doing better but he rarely left Asgard (he “hated mortals”) and when he did come to Earth it wasn’t for a party.
As if he could feel you staring he turns his head and locks his eyes with yours. You weren’t going to lie, he was gorgeous. He was incredibly tall, had those charming green eyes and was actually funny (but you’d never admit that to anyone). But you were in love with Steve and never saw him as anything more than Thor's hot brother. And everyone in the Avengers was hot so that’s not saying much.
You turn away from him and see Nat and Wanda on the dance floor and you tell Steve you’ll see him later and to go find his friends. He’ll need them after tonight you think to yourself. You greet the girls and start dancing with them, for a moment forgetting about what you saw today and putting Loki out of your mind.
The three of you decided to take a break and order some more drinks. Once at the bar Wanda orders for you and when your drinks arrive you go back to the dance floor. You spend the next few hours dancing, talking to your friends and pretending that nothing's wrong. Talking to Steve and pretending that nothing's wrong. Hugging Steve and pretending that nothing's wrong. Kissing Steve and pretending that nothing's wrong.
The fact that Sharon is at the party doesn’t help at all. When you see her talking or touching him you feel like you’re gonna lose it but you remain strong. You remind yourself of your plan and try to keep them out of your mind.
There’s a small stage at the far end of the room and you see your uncle Tony step on it and grab the microphone.
“Hello everyone and thank you for coming to another one of my amazing parties. I hope you are having a good time and taking advantage of the free bar over there” he points to the other side of the room and continues, “Now for what we have all been waiting for: karaoke! And yes, i want everyone to sing something because that’s the whole point of this. I'm looking at you Manchurian Candidate, you’re singing”.
With that he gets off the stage and passes the mic to Sam who decided to sing a Marvin Gaye song. He’s pretty good actually but you can’t fully concentrate on him because your mind is going a thousand miles an hour for what it’s going to happen later.
More people go up and sing their songs and you applaud when they’re done. Nobody is talking much, they're all too busy either laughing at the others performance, drinking or actually listening to the songs. You’re sitting with Steve to your right, Bruce to your left and the rest of the Avengers nearby. You’re your own little group.
It’s finally your turn and as you walk to the stage you can hear your friends whistling and cheering you on. Once you’re up on the stage you choose the song and start singing.

As you continue singing you get more and more confident and take the mic. You walk off the little stage and over to your friends while dancing and you can see them smiling, clapping and having fun. They have no idea how much i mean all of this you think. You look at Steve and he’s completely oblivious. Good, you want to take him by surprise. You arrive at your little circle of friends and start singing the chorus.

You keep dancing and go back to back with Wanda who’s also singing along. You then turn to Nat and she grabs your hand and makes you do a little spin.

When you’re done people are clapping and cheering and you look to your friends to see them all smiling. You look at everyone and make a little mock bow and when you straighten you see Loki sitting on the same couch as before. But this time he’s looking at you and he’s laughing, not smiling and cheering but actually laughing.
You look back at your friends and say “Thank you, thank you” with a smile on your face. You continue , “I wanted to dedicate this song to my boyfriend Steve” you point at him.
“In case it wasn’t clear enough, i wanted to tell you that i saw you with Sharon”. You could hear a pin drop. No one was talking and all eyes were on you. This is what you wanted, to humiliate him as much as he did you. And what better way to do it than publicly? Oh but you weren’t done.
You could see Steve's face going pale and nobody knew where to look, if at you or at him. Tony look ready to murder him as did Rhody, Pepper, Peter and Bruce. Thor, Clint and Vision looked shocked. But Bucky, Sam, Nat and Wanda looked guilty.
Your heart breaks a little more when you realize they knew. You can’t really blame Bucky and Sam for not telling you, they were Steve's friends after all. But you thought the girls were your friends, that they would have told you. Apparently you overestimated that friendship.
You keep on smiling and continue “So… I’m breaking up with you. Hope she was a good fuck and wasn’t uncomfortable with the fact that you were once in love with her aunt”. You do a dramatic pause and make a little disgusted face. “Anyway, if I’m lucky i´ll never see you again. Have a great life!”
And with that, you walk off the stage and make your way to your friends. Steve is rooted to the spot and his face is red with embarrassment. You walk up to him, look him straight in the eye and give him an evil smile. He gulps and opens his mouth as if he’s about to say something and then closes it. He does is two more times and still nothing comes out.
You turn to your group and look at Wand and Nat, who can’t seem to be able to look you in the eye. You sigh and say: “Who want enemies when they can have you as their best friends right?”. They look up then and start talking. Telling you how sorry they are and to please forgive them. You raise your hand to silence them and they do.
You go to your aunt and uncle who look like there should be smoke coming out of their ears and say: “I’m gonna stay in a hotel for the night, can’t stand to be here anymore”. Tony scrunches his eyebrows and look at you like you’re crazy.
“Hell no. You’re staying here. We can find him another room to sleep in but you’re not leaving. If anyone’s leaving is Mr. Star-spangled over there” he practically screams the last part as he points at Steve.  
You take a deep breath and hug him. It takes him by surprise but he puts his arms around you. “I appreciate it uncle Tony but i can’t stay at the compound, it just hurts too much” you say as you let go. Turning to your aunt you hug her as well and say: “Thank you for everything but I quit”.
The moment those words leave your mouth everyone starts talking at the same time telling you how crazy you are and to think about it. You just smile at them and tell them you already made up your mind. “I'm gonna go pack a bag and ask Happy to take me to a hotel nearby. Please make sure he doesn’t follow” you say as you point to a still red-faced Captain America. 
With that you turn around and leave. The room is silent for a few seconds before you hear your friends all screaming at Steve. You look around for a second and notice that Loki is staring at you with a smirk on his face. When you look him in the eye he raises his glass at you ant takes a sip. 
You give him a small smile and walk through the doors towards the elevator.
