another updated altar photo! i managed to get my Lord Zeus statue back on my tiny, tiny shelf and i’m so happy that i lit two blue candles for Him. i also took off my spirit board because she needs rest from being the foundation of so much energy. i added my greek alphabet oracle stones and my runes. i also added my stack of tarot that i draw my daily card from so i always spend time with my altar everyday. it’s nice having all of my divination methods on my altar now (pelduim, oracle, tarot, and runes) and im excited i’ll be able to spend yule without worrying about school since classes end two weeks before the 21st!

💕Aphrodite, guide me towards love. Help me discover it, receive it, embrace it, give it, celebrate it, honor it, teach it, and live it. Let love be the mark I leave, as your devotee, as a human being. 💕

i've never seen your stereotypical dove in my life. if i believed aphrodite only manifested in doves and swans (to name a few) i would never see her in the world around me. that's not what she wants, i know this, she wants to be with me through every step of my life, hovering over my shoulder and reminding me that she's here with me.
so, i started associating her with pigeons. aphrodite pandemos, walking in the streets with every pigeon alongside her. the pigeons approach people, walk by the humans that visit the streets, and like to perch nearby and curiously watch what we're up to. the pigeons that are kept as adored pets, loving their humans with every breath they take. the little aussie pigeons too, that like to watch me read in a seat or peck on the windows to let me know that they're there.
that's aphrodite to me.

I needed a pot for my shamrock plant Rhiannon, so i decided to paint this pot in honor of the Gods of the altar that Rhiannon sits on (Lady Aphrodite, Lord Ares, and Lord Dionysus, as well as a special part for Lady Hestia, as she is the first and last). I’m very proud of it :’)

30 Days of Aphrodite: Day 30
30. What does the future look like for Aphrodite and you?
I think we will continue the way we are now. Aphrodite and my spirituality in general is very much intertwined with the rest of my life, even during busier times when I might not remember to stop and do something “special”. I think I’ve come to see the magic and the influence of the deities everywhere around me, and I include them in my daily life via prayer and devotional acts. I think the future looks bright for Aphrodite and me.

The way in which Aphrodite was worshipped at her numerous cult sites throughout Athens and Attica was often personal and intimate, and thus gives us a sense of how Aphrodite figured in the lives of the average Athenians. What develops is a picture of Aphrodite's worship as highly integrated in Athenian society. The common theme in her worship was unification: between brides and grooms, between prostitutes and customers, and between the Attic demes, or townships. City officials and local merchants sought Aphrodite's aid in creating harmony in the workplace and throughout society. The goddess was associated with a number of personifications that represented various types of good fortune, harmony, and prosperity; all who worshipped her benefited from their blessings as well. As a result, Aphrodite contributed to the overall well-being of Athens.

🌹🕊️ my plans for aphrodisia 🕊️🌹
hi friends and happy aphrodisia 2023! i thought i’d share some of the stuff i’m doing for this festival!
the first thing is the meal i’m preparing. i’m having fish for dinner, specifically in reference to Aphrodite’s connection to the sea and the island of cyprus. i plan to offer Her my first bite of the meal as well as dedicate the preparation to Her.
the next big thing is going to be my altar for the festival. i just got a new apple scented candle for Her (as im devoted to Her, She has Her own candle on my altar) as i tend to use either rose scents or apple scents. i am harvesting some fresh lavender, rosemary, and basil from my garden to put on my altar. i plan on picking up some fresh strawberries from either the farmer’s market or the store a few blocks from my house.
for incense and oils, i have a rose essential oil that i will be using in my diffuser and also burn some of my cinnamon patchouli incense.
i will be replacing my current tarot cards on my altar with the empress and the lovers, as well as doing a three card draw specifically regarding this holiday and my relationship with my goddess.
finally, im going to spend some time reading some of Her myths and the homeric hymn to Aphrodite. i just want to spend some time really focusing on Her and Her presence in my life. i will finish this study session by writing and reading my own prayer to Aphrodite to show my love for Her
i hope y’all have a wonderful festival and may Aphrodite bless you 💖

I initially wrote this as an answer to this post, but the answer became too specific to me, my practice and relationship with Aphrodite that I thought it'd be better off as its own post (and to make sure the initial point wouldn't get lost in my rambling).
I've had a difficult relationship with Aphrodite.
For a lot of people - the ones who need it - she is the advocate for self-love and softness and kindness and the transcendence of love. With me? She was is the fiery storm of a goddess who's always had a very specific idea of what she wanted from me and would have done anything to get me there. Resisting her is useless, at least in my case, all it did was delay her advances.
It is the only time where I've told a deity "Fine. You win, I give up. Now do whatever you want with me because I can't do this anymore." Now, she (thankfully) didn't drag me in the dirt, but giving up control like that is an extremely difficult thing to do and leads you places. I don't know where, because she won't tell but we're definitely going somewhere.
The Aphrodite I deal with, the one she wants me to see is Epistrophia. I rarely call her this way. Both because it is an extremely localised epithet (Megara) but also because over time I've attached this side of her with other names. Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge summarizes that specific epithet this way: "Epistrophia embodies the nocturnal and potentially dangerous forces of sexuality, alongside the Dionysus of the night."
Clearly not surprising that this is the mask she wears with me. And maybe I'm tapping into a link of hers with Dionysus that simply didn't make it as much in the sources in other places as it did for Megara (thanks Pausanias), who knows?
All this to agree with @orsialos; Aphrodite knows madness, she knows mania, and one doesn't need to turn to myth to see the ravages.
The Anacreontea, Fragment 35 : "Eros once failed to notice a bee that was sleeping among the roses, and he was wounded: he was struck in the finger, and he howled. He ran and flew to beautiful Kythere and said, ‘I have been killed, mother, killed. I am dying. I was struck by the small winged snake that farmers call "the bee".’ She replied, ‘If the bee-sting is painful, what pain, Eros, do you suppose all your victims suffer.’"
