FREE ON YOUTUBE
Tumblr media
...YouTube, I feel like your free animated movie recommendations have declined in quality a bit since the halcyon days of Osmosis Jones.
Yes, it is a blatant Kung Fu Panda knockoff, with an American voice cast that is clearly whoever was home at 11 am the week they called.
Tumblr media
This is bad. Like, unfinished, I think I'm missing like half the movie, they forgot to resolve the main plot and it just stops, bad. There is a scene where the only character on screen suffers an animation error, and no one fixed it. The framerate of the movie drops every time the action picks up or the camera swings around too fast. Like...you made a computer-animated movie, and you don't have the hardware or time to do...you know...computer animation? The stones on the Chinese producers of this mess.
Not everything has to be Pixar or DreamWorks. CG is hard. I get it. But you gotta work to your strengths. In this case, the computers you are using can't even render the movie properly. Like...I don't know how you get around that. That's kind of a major issue.
Technical incompetence aside, this suffers from the usual bad CG animation problems of every character looking like they come from a different artistic universe, and most of the action is generic mocaping that doesn't take into account how any real bodies shaped like these bodies would move. And there are just things they didn't bother capturing. Like none of these dough monsters ever stands up on screen.
Shot composition is a disaster. Most scenes are a mob of creatures standing in a pack in an empty space, doing exaggerated facial reactions to someone else talking. It's like bad machinima made in the Skylanders games engine, except all of the character designs are way worse.
The plot, such as they attempted it, is supposed to be about a small, incompetent warrior who looks like Jackie Chan who gets transported to the mystical realm of Merryland by a magical jade necklace his grandfather gave him. There, he transforms into an anthropomorphic panda, for reasons that are never explained. There is a prophecy that a Panda Warrior is destined to save the realm, and our guy is apparently it, except there is a flashback to like a couple of years ago when the ultimate evil took over, and...there is ANOTHER Panda Warrior who was just there and sort of stopped it? But then didn't? Who the hell was that guy?!
Also the ultimate evil is one of the two sky-whales who guard the Dragon Ball (yes, literally) just turning evil because it absorbed too much power. Why did this happen? How are you going to stop it from happening again? Then that whale turns into a nine-headed snake after an evil mouse from the real world just...is there, and merges with the Whale. After the snake is defeated the mouse just crawls out of it and runs away, and no one says a damn thing.
Our panda warrior and his 7 legendary warrior friends kung fu fight the snake at least 3 different times, and never get close to stopping it. And the panda doesn't do anything special or lead them, he is just there, and then at the very end his necklace glows and that...helps? Somehow? The true hero here is, and I'm not joking, Jimmy Ginseng, a tiny ginseng man with an erhu who shows up whenever the warriors are losing, plays the erhu, the enemy gets soothed by the song, and then Jimmy gets tired and leaves. EVERY BATTLE ends like this, including the final one.
So...?
The panda has that cool green sword in the picture. And he does have it. It is just...a sword, thst someone randomly gives him. I think he ends up dropping it and it never comes up again.
Also all the warriors are animals, except for the one who is a talking tree stump...filled with lava. And he dies at the end by setting himself and the snake on fire. Because his master, a purple fox, told him to do that to save everyone. ...Except the SNAKE SURVIVED IT, and they had to fight it again, lose, and wait for Jimmy to show up.
The bull character also sacrifices himself, TWICE, to save everyone else, and both times that doesn't work, either.
The movie ends with Merryland being restored from the devastation of the snake...BEFORE the snake is defeated. It just...gets better, after they resuce an elf girl princess who does...something...? And then the regrown flowers shoot the snake with missiles of some kind. Which ALSO fails to defeat it.
The panda doesn't go home and become human again and nothing is explained. But during the credits there is a fight scene between the little human warrior and his general, in which they get drunk and wrestle and tons of fight animations repeat in a loop for 3 minutes. Is this part of the movie? Are these outtakes? What does this have to do with anything? If this is what happens after he got home, I don't know why or what it means.
...My guess is that the first panda warrior we see was supposed to be his grandfather, as a panda? That was probably the idea? But no one ever says that. The movie doesn't remember to explain that.
This was translated from Chinese. Perhaps the translation is terrible. Or they did a massive reedit of this for the US release. That could explain some of this. ...But then why didn't they cut out the glitch scene, or some of the shots with the bad framerate? There are literal 10 second sequences in this movie where there is no dialogue or music, just a camera sleeping over a scenery to ambient nature sounds. Who reedits a movie for the foreign market and cuts out vital plot scenes, but leaves in shit like that?
...Unless all those vital plot scenes had even worse technical problems. Jesus. That's a terrifying thought.
One positive here. While nearly all of the voice work is as boring and bored as you'd expect, the immortal Tom Kenny is good, with what very little he is given to do, here. The man is a professional.
And here is the weirdest thing: Rob Schneider is really good here as the panda man and Jimmy Ginseng. Like, shockingly good. Like, this is without exaggeration the best performances of this man's miserable life. He is funny, charming, nuanced, he feels like he is reacting properly during what were probably one-sided conversations recorded on different days in different places. It is shocking how good he is in this awful, stupid movie. My only guess is that he was somehow involved in bringing this over and it was going to serve as an audition piece to get him more voice work. In which case, like, fair enough, dude. You nailed it. He is genuinely very good in this very bad movie.
What an odd artifact from 2012. What a waste of time. Why did YouTube recommend this? What do any of us gain from being shown this? I am just flabbergasted.
You're on time out with these movie suggestions, Google.
Also there is a pig who flies who looks like this:
Tumblr media
Those aren't ears, they are just gross misshapen tendrils that bob around as she moves. It's like someone was playing with a stretch tool and then...stopped.
I was gonna end with "Now let's have Jimmy Ginseng play us out," but I can only find this one bad picture of him, and it doesn't show his erhu:
Tumblr media
Here is some nice erhu music from someone else. Something redeeming in this godforsaken post:

I'm no longer gonna be able to comfortably play my special interest, which fucking sucks. Rant under cut. It's about League of Legends and Riot's anti-cheat software, Vanguard, if you're interested.
Riot Vanguard (vgk) is a kernel-level software that scans all of a system's processes to detect cheat engines, which itself is fine - industry standard - except it boasts a particular effectiveness due to how it's run. Vgk runs on start-up so that it's running before a user has the chance to launch a cheat engine, and it can ID hardware so that if a player is caught cheating, they won't be able to play again on the same device. Unless it is disabled manually, it will run 24/7, whereas other AC software will start and stop in line with the game's execution.
It's more effective than other AC software, but it absolutely bricked some PCs back upon its initial release when Valorant dropped in 2020. This was a new game, fresh code, but the anti-cheat borders on a fucking rootkit - a term I'm using liberally, because vgk isn't malware, but it works in the same way on a systemic level. Equally as invasive, and can potentially be equally as destructive; one of those is intended, and the other is an unfortunate by-product of invasive software being developed by a video game company.
League of Legends is a 15 year old game with some pretty tragic code. If vgk caused people to bluescreen after exiting Valorant, then even more people are going to encounter issues with the shitshow that is LoL's code base.
Three weeks ago, an attempt to fix a bug regarding an in-client feature fucked over a far more significant API in several major servers. Every time a particular game-mode called "Clash" launches (every other month or so), it bricks the servers. This is currently a running gag in the community: that whenever the client acts up (embarrassingly often for such a well-funded game) Riot must be dropping Clash early. But when you introduce a bloody rootkit into the mix that runs in tandem with spaghetti code and beyond the closing of the game app, this is going to undoubtedly fuck some computers up.
I'm not someone who cheats at games, but I care about my system too much to risk this. Something that relies on the BIOS, that is known to have caused permanent damage to systems while running alongside a much better programmed game, that continuously scans your system while it's active (and always activates upon start-up until disabled) is obscenely risky. With a 24/7 invasive software, it can disable drivers regardless of what you're playing and when; the worst cases - plural - I've read about anecdotally were people's cooling systems being disabled erroneously by vgk, causing gpu melting. You bet any antivirus software you have installed is going to scan without pause because of it, which will cause more system-wide performance issues, too.
There's also the (albeit minor) risk of other scripts triggering the uh-oh alarm and leading to unfair account bans, and I've poured almost 7 years into this game. I mod some of my single-player games and write scripts. No thanks.
And while I'm lucky enough to have a decent system, the TPM 2.0 and secure boot requirement for Windows 11 users means that vgk will effectively - while the phrase is crude, I haven't seen a concise alternative - "class-ban" League players. Similar to the release of OW2, where a unique SIM was required for every account, including existing ones until that got changed after enough backlash - except buying a phone number is far cheaper than buying a laptop or PC. Even with the requirements, the performance issues will tank low-end systems, which would already be at higher risk of hardware fuckery from increased and extended cpu usage. And the game is currently designed to be comfortably playable on low-end rigs, so it will force-out a good number of players.
If you play League and intend to continue playing after vgk is made mandatory in Jan/Feb 2024, give it a few months after it goes live before you play. That's enough time for any catastrophic issues to unfold, because if the testing period was anything like it is for game features, it won't be sufficient, and the number of cases of system damage will be worse than it was for Valorant upon release.
This rant does read like I'm trying to dissuade people from playing post-vgk, and I'm not, but I am urging people to be cautious and informed on the legitimate controversies surrounding Vanguard, especially anything hardware related. Familiarise yourself with how the program works and assess whether your system will likely be affected, and how permanent any damage could be to your hardware. Read forums (that aren't moderated by Riot employees where possible) and verify the information you're reading. Including this. It's 3:30am and I'm writing this angrily, so my limited explanations of the software could stand to be more thorough.
I'm hoping that there will be enough of a reduction in League's ~200m monthly player-base to spark a reversal in the decision to implement vgk. Not out of consideration for people who don't want to install a rootkit for a video game, but because Riot would lose money and shit their corporate britches.
Having to say goodbye to my favourite game, a universe I love and one of the more significant outlets to socialisation in my life absolutely sucks, though. The actual season changes looked super cool too, and I was stoked about Ambessa coming to the game. I'll enjoy the game while I can, but yeah this feels like a bitter breakup lmao.

Countdown to Christmas Eve: a GentleBrava Tale: Part 2
Again, please comment and like if there’s a way to improve this story
7:00pm Gentle was finishing his last delivery, anticipating to see La Brava for their date. Just as he was coming towards the house, he heard a frail voice.
“Excuse me?” The voice uttered.
Gentle turned around but saw no one.
“Excuse me, young man?” The voice repeated.
Gentle looked down to see a short elderly man, looking up at him.
“Hello sir, do you know where this address is?” Gentle asked unsure, pointing to the postcard.
“Yes, I do! It’s my home! Could you help me find my way home? I seem to have gotten lost.” The old man answered.
Gentle was admittedly concerned as he was almost done with work and needed to meet La Brava soon for their date.
Still, a gentleman is someone who helps those in need
“Yes, sir. Let’s work together to find your home.”
7:30pm La Brava should’ve been out by now but the network was still being troublesome.
I will be late as well, Gentle’s text read, letting her know not to rush.
At least her coworkers were feeding her while she tired away at the computer.
7:45pm Gentle and the old man walked together as they searched for his address.
“There it is!” The old man exclaimed. Gentle was happy to have found the man’s residence and bidded him goodbye.
“Wait!” The old man exclaimed again. “Let me thank you by treating you to tea. My wife probably has it all ready.”
As tempting as that was, Gentle declined.
“Come now, I’d want to show gratitude for your help.” The old gestured.
Gentle relented. When is it too much to be a gentleman? He pondered.
8:15pm “Aha!” La Brava cried tiredly as the network started fixing itself.
“I did it! I did it!” She exclaimed to her coworkers.
“You did it! You did it!” Her coworkers exclaimed, hugging her and thanking her.
“Honestly, it looks as though not only was your network down but your hardware as well” La Brava explained.
“What does that mean?” the manager asked.
“It means…you might have to keep my laptop for it to be running.” La Brava stated sadly.
“What?! We can’t take your laptop!” The manager retorted.
“It’s fine…” La Brava reassured. “I was looking to get a new one anyway, so take it as a gift for being so kind to me.”
“Well,…” Mika started “At least take this Christmas Cake for your date”.
La Brava was handed a cute cake with white frosting, red icing trimming and a snowman on top.
“Thank you, ladies.” La Brava bowed, heading towards the square to meet her darling.
8:15pm Gentle was still sitting with the old man and his wife, chatting over tea.
“It so nice of you to join us after helping my husband home.” The wife exclaimed. The woman was just as petite as her husband.
“Thank YOU for inviting me in.” Gentle responded.
“It’s so nice to have someone over; it’s been just me and my husband for quite some time.” She commented sadly.
“Oh?” Gentle asked.
“Well…” the old man started. “A few years ago, our granddaughter used to live with us. We took her in when she lost her parents.”
Gentle looked on with a sympathetic look.
“Then, she left our home, hoping to “forge a new path” for herself.” The old man paused.
“She wasn’t happy for a long time” the old woman continued, squeezing her husband’s hand. “She had been through a lot and while she knew how much we loved her, I think she wanted to do more for us in return for that love“.
The old man got up, waddling to a box, taking it to the table. “She still sends us postcards and money every now and then, but we just wish she would see us more often.” He stated before handing Gentle a postcard.
Gentle looks at it before freezing.
“…Is she happy now?” Gentle asked.
“From these postcards, I know she is.” The old man smiled.
Gentle smiled to himself before getting up.
“Thank you for the tea, but I must be going. I have to meet with my girlfriend for Christmas Eve.”
“Oh, why didn’t you say so?!” The old woman chastised “Don’t let us doddering old fools keep you!”
Gentle smiled “Merry Christmas!”.
Gentle rushed out to meet La Brava passing the name plate of the couple’s residence: Aiba.
8:30pm Only 30 minutes to roam the Christmas Illumination and at that moment, La Brava and Gentle Criminal had finally arrived for their date.
La Brava arrived first. Out of breath from running, she sat down on the nearby lawn, looking frantically for Gentle when she heard his voice.
“Manami!” She turned around, greeted by sight of her boyfriend’s clean mustache-less face.
Both arrived still in their work uniform and surprised at each other’s appearance.
“Danjuro?! What happened to your mustache?!” She exclaimed.
“I…shaved it in order to pick up your gift” he explained, embarrassed.
“What?” La Brava asked confused.
“Never mind, I’m sorry I’m late! And still in my uniform, but I got caught up with some people.” He explained, sitting next to her.
“…Did you stop for some tea?” La Brava asked knowingly.
“Yes…” Gentle admitted, “But let’s just say I got to know some people who really misses someone who gives a lot of love in return.”
La Brava’s eyes widened a bit, realizing what he meant.
“Are…these people doing ok?” She asked hesistantly.
“Yeah” Gentle answered, smiling and leaning his forehead against hers.
La Brava smiled as well with tears in her eyes.
“Anyway,” Gentle started, “I’m excited to give you your gift!” He handed her gift, as she opened it to find the bag.
“Oh Gentle, I love it!” La Brava exclaimed before making her guilty confession. “But I gave away my old laptop to help my job.”
Gentle looked saddened at first, but knew La Brava truly had a big heart.
La Brava then presented her gift. When Gentle opened it, he laughed for how absolutely perfect it was.
“I’m sorry I can’t use it now.” He said, hugging her, pulling her to lie on the lawn with him “and I’m sorry our date didn’t go as planned.”
“We’re together now.” La Brava smiled.
Then, she closed one eye and covered his face with one hand to focus her vision. “You know, you don’t look half bad without your beard and mustache.”
Chuckling, Gentle got up and plucked a branch of leaves and laid back down to dangle it above their heads.
“That’s not mistletoe.” La Brava pointed out.
“Does it matter?” Gentle said slyly. She grinned and lifted her head to kiss him.
“Best Christmas ever.” both declared to each other.
The End

The Best Gaming Laptops in 2022
NOTE : If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link Variety may receive an affiliate commission.
Everyone looks for different features in a gaming laptop. Some want a great display, while others might prioritize killer hardware. However, these days you don’t have to compromise. More devices than ever do it all without a hefty price tag. Gaming laptops aren’t cheap, though. So, you’ll want to make sure you make the right choice the first time around. Otherwise, you might spend all that effort getting your machine set up perfectly just to find one thing that makes you send it back.
Here are a few things you should mull over when trying to find the best gaming laptop for you: Display Size – The display is the most significant contributing factor when it comes to a laptop’s size. The entire device is built to conform to this, so most laptops with similar screen dimensions will have a similar form factor and weight regardless of the manufacturer. Battery Life – If you’re using your laptop as a desktop replacement, battery life isn’t a big deal. However, if you plan to use it on the go, it might be worth trading some power to get more battery life. Also, bigger laptops don’t always come with bigger batteries, so make sure to check the specs. Weight – Most gaming laptops weigh less than 7-8 lbs these days, but that can be a lot to carry all day. When choosing a computer, be mindful of how far and how often you intend to tote it around. That 17-inch screen isn’t going to be so pretty when your back is aching from dragging it with you all day. Now, check out our list of the laptops we count among the best models currently available.
Razer Blade 15 (2022)
The Razer Blade 15 continues the line’s excellent design. Like in previous years, 2022’s version does an excellent job of balancing performance and form factor. It’s just a bit thicker than an ultrabook while providing the power to run the latest games at max settings. The anodized black aluminum chassis feels sturdy, and its understated design is great for those who want a gaming laptop without broadcasting they’re a gamer to the world. The Razer Blade 15 is available in multiple configurations. The low-end is marked by the RTX 3060, but you can move all the way up to an RTX 3080 Ti if you desire. It can also be configured with a 360Hz FHD, 240Hz QHD, or 144Hz UHD display. You can also get up to an i9-12900H CPU, though the i7 model should be up to any gaming task. Unfortunately, all this great hardware in such a small package has to have at least one drawback. For the Razer Blade 15, it’s the battery. It should last a decent amount of time for simple tasks like browser and light productivity work. However, you’ll want to connect it to AC power if you’re planning an extended gaming session. CLICKERE HERE BUY NOW : 2,999.9 $ https://amzn.to/3OSK5jr
Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 (2022)
The ROG Zephyrus G15 makes an excellent alternative to the Razer Blade 15, especially if you want to go with an AMD processor. It’s available with the top-of-the-line (for laptops) Ryzen 9 6900HS, but unfortunately is missing an AMD graphics option. Like we’ve come to expect with premium gaming laptops, the G15 has a metal chassis and feels like it’s built to last.
In contrast to our previous pick, the G15 has respectable battery life. This makes it a great selection for someone who wants a laptop to use for productivity as it can last through a workday without too much trouble. Afterward, you can jump on it and game, but you’ll likely need a charge beforehand. Unfortunately, you’ll want to keep your lap away from this laptop. It heats up fast, when gaming or streaming video, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a sturdy desk to put it on. CLICK HERE BUY NOW : 1,819.99 $ https://amzn.to/3SomMBe
Alienware X17 R2
Alienware laptops have always had a bit of flair around them, and the x17 R2 is no different. While it’s not as crazy as some of Alienware’s designs from the past, it’s got some flourish that sets it apart from its contemporaries. With its 17-inch display, the x17 R2 is massive. It has an aluminum and magnesium chassis, and a unique hexagonal vent design on the back brightens up a normally run-of-the-mill part of a laptop. The optional mechanical keyboard is one of our favourite features of the Alienware X17 R2. Most gaming laptops use membrane keys, but the x17 R2 can be outfitted with optional Cherry MX switches to give you crisp keypresses on the go. However, for all its perks, it has some irregularities Most of the ports are on the rear, which makes them hard to reach quickly and despite its hefty size, it has a rather average battery life. CLICK HERE BUY NOW : 2,799.95 $ https://amzn.to/3SAWLyL
Acer Predator Triton 500 SE Gaming Laptop (2022)
This is another excellent choice for those that want a fabulous all-around computer that’s also a gaming powerhouse. The industry is moving away from dedicated gaming laptops, and there are few greater exemplifiers of that than the Acer Predator Triton 500 SE. It’s another 17-inch model, so it’s not petite by any means. However, it’s extremely thin for the hardware included and has an excellent all-metal design that gives it a premium feel. One of the unique features the Triton brings to the table is its “Turbo” button. Above the keyboard, there’s a single button labeled “Turbo,” which is reminiscent of those found on old desktops. When you press it, the laptop will max out all its fans and automatically overclock its hardware. When Turbo Mode is active, you’ll give around a 10% boost in performance at the expense of having to hear the extremely loud and high-pitched fans. CLICK HERE BUY NOW : 2,979.99 $ https://amzn.to/3oQ4VFx
ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2022)
The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is ostentatious in the best way. However, if you’re out to live the good life at any expense, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better laptop. After all, why get a gaming laptop with one screen when you can get one with two? At around $4,000 for the fully-loaded model, the Zephyrus Duo 16 isn’t for those shopping on a budget. Instead, this is a laptop for someone who wants something out of the norm. No machine on the market is like it, which can be good or bad. Even the touchpad is in an unusual location to accommodate the second screen. If you want to watch YouTube or Twitch when playing games, but without using more than one device, look no further than the Duo 16. What looks like a gimmick at first sight will become indispensable once you realize how much freedom it gives you to consume content over a regular laptop. CLICK HERE BUY NOW : 3,449.99 $ https://amzn.to/3QiF5G4

My Windows XP x64 desktop. I have it installed on my main PC alongside other operating systems, and boot into it to either mess about with, get a nostalgia hit, or play around and try to get stuff not-supporting-XP working.
Windows XP remains surprisingly usable today. There are several updated web browsers - one recent appearance is Supermium, which ports the newest/almost-newest Chromium and permits use of Discord, Youtube etc without a sweat under XP (plus it has several privacy tweaks from Ungoogled Chromium, for those conscious of that).
Windows XP had an especially vibrant custom theme landscape - in part because it remained supported and widely used for a humongous amount of time. As such people made great-quality custom themes that encompass all kinds of design trends that popped up over the years. The theme used by me here is "Watercolor Emico: Black" by Jamush, which is one of my all-time favorites.
In service of 4/13, which happened yesterday, I have put up a Homestuck wallpaper, in this instance one of my favorite ones that has stuck around with me on those XP x64 setups ^^. I believe that this
is the original, but it has a couple of small quirks, like the way darker space on the right. I have wrangled it quite a bit on my own end, but I don't remember what I precisely did since it's been ages. It does appear to be a vectorized picture of Skaia, which would make it "recreatable" for anyone interested. Overall, I enjoy using this system - I normally use Linux, but when I get a desire to use Windows this usually does perfectly. It does, however, have several things that later Windowses clearly do better - for example, the audio system got greatly enhanced in Vista, with per-application volume settings. Additionally, and this may be a problem with my drivers, I get pops and slight skips in certain programs and games (for example, VVVVVV) under XP that I do not get on other systems. Older Windowses certainly had their own warts indeed (as someone who generally doesn't like newer Windowses, I do apprecieate being able to use older Windows versions regularly, to have further perspective on what changes in the later versions I would call definite improvements, and what I would rather have be similar to the older versions ^^)
A very important thing to note is that my hardware is old enough for XP x64 to still be supported driver-wise. You generally can't install Windows XP on newer hardware by default, and while there are modded drivers, custom drivers and workarounds, it is certainly not a task for the feeble. Additionally, the XP x64, being based on Server 2003, and not being a particularly common system (Vista/7 were the first x64 OS's that properly "took off" to put it highly clumsily), has spottier driver support than "regular" 32-bit XP. Indeed, I have to use my GPU with a single screen, as plugging in a second monitor bluescreens the computer! (this is an issue with the driver under specifically 64-bit systems, and while there is a patched version for a later driver version than what I use, that driver version has its own issues and keeps resetting itself into washed-out-colors-mode (clamping the colours to 16-235/"limited RGB" ). So I stick with the older driver version and just use it with a single screen) So yeah, have an inpromptu-and-overlong description of an OS install I have particularly enjoyed messing about with recently :D

How to Choose the Best Data Recovery Services
Data recovery services are useful when a business loses data due to a system crash or hardware failure. These companies restore deleted files and restore the structure of hard drives that have been physically damaged. Most recovery services will put the recovered files onto a clean hard drive and return it to the client. The best ones will also wipe the recovered file to prevent it from being accessed by someone else. This is a crucial step since data recovery companies are often required to report any information that may be evidence of criminal activity to the appropriate authorities.
A quality data recovery service will have a certified cleanroom in which to conduct examinations, repairs, and other procedures. They will also have a full staff of trained and experienced technicians. They will also be able to handle multiple types of media. When choosing a data recovery service, look for one that offers a free evaluation and a “no data, no charge” guarantee. Avoid companies that charge a flat fee per gigabyte of data recovered.
CBL Data Recovery is an international provider of data recovery services that has been in operation for over 20 years. The company has offices in the United States and around the world. The company has a successful recovery rate of around 90% and can recover data from many different types of devices. They can recover data from desktop computers, RAID, SAN, and external drives. They can even recover information from mobile phones and other portable devices. They offer several recovery options to choose from, including Standard, Priority, and Emergency, each with a different turnaround time.
Secure Data Recovery is an industry leader in logical and physical data recovery.
They can recover lost, corrupted, or deleted files from any type of device and are SSAE 16 Type II certified. They have over 30 service centers across the country for customer drop-offs and can accept shipping from customers in any state. Secure Data Recovery is a leading provider of RAID data recovery and offers a free evaluation and a no-data, no-charge guarantee.
Gillware is a trusted partner of over 5,000 computer repair businesses and managed IT services providers. They are known for their fast and affordable data recovery services. They are available 24/7 for emergency data recovery services. They can retrieve data from any kind of storage device, including laptops, desktops, USB flash drives, and memory cards. They can even restore deleted files from a Mac computer. Their data recovery services are backed by a lifetime warranty, so you can rest assured that your data is in good hands.
If you are looking for a data recovery service, it is important to find a company that has a cleanroom and a certified technician to work on your equipment. A reputable data recovery service will be transparent about their process and will provide you with a list of files that can be recovered from your device. They will also be willing to return your original device if they can’t retrieve all of the data. They should also have security guards and electronic door locks to limit the number of people who can access your hard drive and ensure that only trained personnel are working on it.

Which Audio Interface Should You Buy?
For an audio workstation setup, two pieces of technology that are worth considering are:
1) Universal Audio Apollo x8p
2) Focusrite Scarlett 18i20
The first thing that stands out between these two interfaces is the massive price gap. The Audio Apollo is $3,800 and the Focusrite Scarlett is $510 on Sweetwater. For an over $3,000 difference in price, there should be a huge difference in specs and performance. This blog is going to explore those differences and see if buying the latest technology is worth it or if the cheaper alternative can provide similar results.
The Universal Audio Apollo x8p is a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface that offers high-quality audio conversion, a built-in DSP processor for running UAD plug-ins, and versatile connectivity options with 8 in outs and 14 outputs. It runs on Mac OS 10.12 or higher and Windows 10 and up. It’s also compatible with most major DAWs. The sample rate is 192 hertz, 24-bit. The Apollo lacks with only 4 preamps, but makes up with speed.
The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 is a USB 2 audio interface that offers a wide range of inputs and outputs, including eight preamp inputs and a total of 18 inputs and 20 outputs. It is compatible with Mac OS 10.12 or higher, Windows 7 and up, iPad, and is also compatible with most major DAWs. The sample rate is also 192 hertz, 24-bit. The focusrite lacks speed, which will be covered later, but with its 8 preamps, is great for more connections in and out.
In terms of operating system, both Mac OS and Windows are good choices for an audio workstation setup, depending on the user's personal preference and workflow. Mac OS is known for its stability and performance, making it a popular choice for professionals. Windows offers more flexibility and compatibility with a wider range of software and hardware, and is cheaper, and is more customizable.
The difference in Ports stood out to me right away when comparing what I’d buy. As previously specified, Focusrite uses a USB 2 port, while the Apollo uses a Thunderbolt 3 port. Techcutt writes the article “Difference between USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Thunderbolt, and FireWire ports” to inform those who are confused with the speeds of different ports and why it matters. Author Elon Decker states, “To increase the transfer speeds and avoid any possible problems such as data loss or corruption, different data transfer ports have been made.” Therefore it is important to buy the right port not only for speed, but functionality. The article begins with USB 2, which was created in 2000 (23 years ago!) and transfers data at 60MBps (megabytes per second). The Thunderbolt 3 on the other hand transfers data at 40 GBps (Gigabytes per second). Not only is this a huge difference in speed, but also supports a 4k display if your computer uses that. As someone who uses a 4k display, this is an important factor in choosing my port in an audio interface as well.
A key factor that I’ve left out which doesn’t involve specs or price is dedication. Money can’t buy the hard work it takes to be a great musician, audio engineer, producer or excel in any field of life. Therefore, the latest equipment will not instantaneously make you better. There’s no shame in lower quality if you can put in the work it takes to get the best results for your budget. Ultimately, the best choice for an audio workstation setup will depend on the specific needs and preferences of the user. The Universal Audio Apollo x8p is a good choice for users who require high-quality audio conversion and the ability to run UAD plug-ins, while the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 is a good choice for users who require versatility and a wide range of inputs and outputs. Personally, I would start with the focusrite as it has the same sample rate and bit depth, then upgrade when I can afford the Apollo. Which do you prefer!?

Great Career Paths For All Skill Levels
There are many great career paths that you can take. However, you should know that you should consider your competency before choosing the career path that suits your interests. Although some careers require high levels of education, others will be suitable for those with basic skills. A good example is that of a medical technician. New technology in the healthcare industry has led to increased use of computer machinery and testing equipment.
This career has high job security and a high demand. People in this field do not need to look for clients all the time and the job will provide a stable income until retirement. The demand for qualified individuals in this career field is expected to increase by 7% over the next few years. A person in this career can choose a job that involves simple budgeting for the family or it can be very sophisticated, such as where to invest a high-profile client's money in the stock market.
Another career with high employment growth and plenty of opportunities is robotics. You can design an assembly line for factory machinery or develop a hardware tool for a surgeon to use in surgery. You can even use your skills in other fields that require the use of robotics. In either case, a career in this field is extremely rewarding and should provide ample opportunities.
As humans live longer, they will need more care. The medical field will continue to grow. The growing number of elderly people will mean that the number of jobs in this field will increase exponentially. As a result, many jobs that were once considered "safe" will become more unstable. As a result, a wise career seeker should consider this aspect before choosing a career path and you want to know  Is Basic industries a good career path ?
While the demand for nurses in America is very high, they do not have many options when it comes to location. Because of the high demand for nurses, many will need to work in hospitals, medical centers, and clinics. There is already a shortage of qualified nurses, and this is expected to worsen over the next decade.
Another great career path for math majors is engineering. The need for engineers in various industries is high. An engineer can also customize their career according to his or her interests. Although this field can be stressful and demanding, many people enjoy their work and the ability to contribute to the world. So, it can be a great choice for someone who enjoys helping people.
Another great career path for autistic people is in the field of research. Due to their logical and unemotional nature, they are excellent at presenting facts without bias. Various degrees of education are required to pursue such a career. Some examples of jobs in the field include research assistant, reference librarian, fact-checker, genealogologologologoperson, and genealogist.

may i ask about mbti too? in relation to sortinghatchats, ofc. (if yes, i'd like to ask about how do you think being a ravenclaw primary relates to being an intp as the introverted thinking dominant thing seems to be very much in tune with the ravenclaw primary system)
I think it is, but it's been 10 years since I really studied MBTI in depth. (13 year old me had some niche hobbies.) Hang on.
(Future Paint dropping in: just a warning, but this post is gonna be kind of a trash fire.)
Okay, I found a site that has descriptions of the functions (here's their masterpost) that seem accurate from what I remember. I don't know about the rest of the articles on the site, I poked around a bit and some of them are a little on the silly side :p
For our purposes I think it should work.
But first,
A bad crash course on MBTI and the cognitive functions system
So, you're probably used to seeing four-letter types like ESTJ thrown around on the Internet. They're each shorthand for a set of cognitive functions (if you're using the right sources and aren't a coward 😉).
There's an Introverted and an Extroverted version each of Sensing, Intuition (the N), Thinking and Feeling--so, eight total, and they're all pretty different from each other. When MBTI people say Ni they're not making a Monty Python joke, they mean Introverted Intuition (the little I = introverted, so Ne = Extroverted Intuition).
Each type uses the functions in a different order. You have a dominant function which is your main approach to the world, and your secondary function which supports it, and they describe a lot of how you think. You also have a tertiary function (opposite of your auxiliary, it's weaker support) and an inferior function (opposite of your dominant, not something you're necessarily great at, some people will say you should try to strengthen it... it's up for debate).
Intuition and Sensing belong to one category (perceiving functions) and Thinking and Feeling belong to another (judging functions). You get one of each category for your dominant and auxiliary, and one will be Introverted and the other Extroverted. So for INTPs it's Ti dominant and Ne auxiliary, for ESTJs it's Te/Si, for ENFPs it's Ne/Fi, etc.
If you find your top 2 functions, you can reverse engineer your type. Works like this. Say you've landed on Ti dominant and Se auxiliary. You already have the ST that makes up the middle of your type. Your dominant function is Introverted, so your type is too: IST. (If your dominant is Extroverted, you get an E.) If you use Ne or Se in your top two, you're a Perceiving type so slap a P on there: ISTP. (Te and Fe users get a J.)
Confused yet? It's because this is a bad explanation! Good ones take even longer! xD
MBTI is an amalgam of Meyers and Briggs' ideas, weird old versions of the functions made up by Carl Jung which have morphed into something that kinda makes sense through basically a game of Telephone (this isn't a bad thing) and various adjustments, theories, and simplifications someone decided to write a book and a quiz about. It can be useful if you read good sources, or it can be... weird. (No, you're not a J type just because you like to keep your desk clean.)
If you like MBTI and want to study it, my 13-year-old self would highly recommend Personality Type: An Owner's Manual by Lenore Thomson. Amazon has used copies for ~$7 if you can't find it locally/in a library.
Bad crash course over, back to the post.
So, Ravenclaws and Ti.
Yeah! There are similarities! And probably correlations in their... userbase? That's the word I'm going with.
Here's my post about how my Ravenclaw primary feels/works.
Here's a reference article about Introverted Thinking.
Some cherrypicked bits from the article (highlights are mine):
People with Introverted Thinking want the world to make sense in a logical manner. They form an internal framework of how the world works. It is constantly being modified and improved through life experience and experiments.
They have the ability to find commonalities in seemingly unrelated things.
Someone with Introverted Thinking may take a while to fully understand a concept. This is because they want to know all the components and how everything works together.
However, once a Ti user figures out the whole system, everything clicks. They can see how the car and motor works, and how it all fits together. They have created a map and an internal framework, which could be applied to understanding how engines in other machines work. Pieces of this framework could also be used to understand seemingly unrelated concepts, like how a plumbing system works, or how computer programming languages interact with hardware.
So, that whole linked article echoes my post really loudly! Like I said, lots of similarities.
Let's have a look at Ne, the INTP auxiliary function (article link).
Extraverted Intuition (Ne) deals with experiencing the outer world, noticing possibilities, and what could be. Ne deals with seeing how all things in life are interrelated, and allows the user to see the world in multiple different perspectives.
Okay, go on...
Extraverted Intuition is always seeing possibilities. They always want to know “what could be”. They are adept at understanding the external environment, but they always want to take it one step further. They wonder, “if I change this, what will happen?”
Uh huh...
Extraverted Intuition also has the ability to make obscure connections. The Ne user can take two seemingly unrelated topics and bring them together. This can also cause the user to have an off-beat sense of humor.
Oh wow. I dunno about that ;)
Correlation, not rule
The thing is, I don't know how much I can say about this. There are lots of Ravenclaws who aren't INTPs, or even Ti users. There are probably lots of INTPs and Ti users who aren't Ravenclaws.
My older brother from the last post? Pretty sure he's an INTJ. (I don't care what Keirsey tells you about "oh they're both NT types, they're the smart types so they're similar."* INTJs use a different set of functions and don't have Ti as part of their stack.)
The SHC community is a lot smaller than the MBTI one, of course, so I don't have a way of testing this very effectively, or a good pool of examples. Like, I can say that Luna Lovegood is often considered an INFP, but she's not exactly available to take an online test, what with magic messing with technology so badly in the wizarding world ;)
Readers, go ahead and stick your MBTI and your Sorting (as best you know them) in the replies or reblogs, if you like. We're going to have some selection bias here but it'll be interesting anyway.
This post is a mess but I don't know how to make it better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
------
*I was hoping Keirsey might have developed a little more nuance over the past 10 years, but glancing over the site, it seems to be the same oversimplifications and stereotypes as I remember. Rationals are still the "smart types": the first word they use to describe them is "ingenious."
This kind of thing loses credibility with me real quick, especially because Keirsey is one of the most aggressive in selling their model to companies in order to evaluate employees.

OK, I'LL TELL YOU YOU ABOUT IDEAS
Object-oriented programming in the 1980s. If it can work to start a startup. Instead of building stuff to throw away, you tend to want every line of code to go toward that final goal of showing you did a lot of startups grow out of them. Already spreading to pros I know you're skeptical they'll ever get hotels, but there's no way anything so short and written in such an informal style could have anything useful to say about such and such topic, when people with degrees in the subject have already written many thick books about it. Those are both good things to be. I don't mean that as some kind of answer for, but not random: I found my doodles changed after I started studying painting. When someone's working on a problem that seems too big, I always ask: is there some way to give the startups the money, though. What would it even mean to make theorems a commodity? There seem to be an artist, which is even shorter than the Perl form.1 However, a city could select good startups.2
Tcl, and supply the Lisp together with a complete system for supporting server-based applications, where you can throw together an unbelievably inefficient version 1 of a program very quickly. Or at least discard any code you wrote while still employed and start over. But a hacker can learn quickly enough that car means the first element of a list and cdr means the rest. If an increasing number of startups founded by people who know the subject from experience, but for doing things other people want. It could be the reason they don't have any.3 An interactive language, with a small core of well understood and highly orthogonal operators, just like the core language, that would be better for programming. The more of a language as a set of axioms, surely it's gross to have additional axioms that add no expressive power, simply for the sake of efficiency.
One of the MROSD trails runs right along the fault. When you're young you're more mobile—not just because you don't have to be downloaded. The fact is, most startups end up doing something different than they planned. The three old guys didn't get it. PL/1: Fortran doesn't have enough data types. What programmers in a hundred years? Just wait till all the 10-room pensiones in Rome discover this site.4 Common Lisp I have often wanted to iterate through the fields of a struct—to push performance data to the programmer instead of waiting for him to come asking for it. It would be too much of a political liability just to give the startups the money, though. And they are a classic example of this approach. For one thing, real problems are rare and valuable skill, and the de facto censorship imposed by publishers is a useful if imperfect filter.
I'm just not sure how big it's going to seem hard. Often, indeed, it is not dense enough. If the hundred year language were available today, would we want to program in today. Of course, the most recent true counterexample is probably 1960. A friend of mine rarely does anything the first time someone asks him. As a young founder by present standards, so you have to spend years working to learn this stuff. The market doesn't give a shit how hard you worked.
You can write programs to solve, but I never have. One advantage of this approach is that it gives you fewer options for the future. Otherwise Robert would have been too late. Look at how much any popular language has changed during its life.5 Java also play a role—but I think it is the most powerful motivator of all—more powerful even than the nominal goal of most startup founders, and I felt it had to be prepared to explain how it's recession-proof is to do what hackers enjoy doing anyway. The real question is, how far up the ladder of abstraction will parallelism go? Anything that can be implicit, should be. New York Times, which I still occasionally buy on weekends. So I think it might be better to follow the model of Tcl, and supply the Lisp together with a lot of them weren't initially supposed to be startups. It's because staying close to the main branches of the evolutionary tree pass through the languages that have the smallest, cleanest cores. The way to learn about startups is by watching them in action, preferably by working at one. At the very least it will teach you how to write software with users.
Few if any colleges have classes about startups. All they saw were carefully scripted campaign spots. It might help if they were expressed that way. It's enormously spread out, and feels surprisingly empty much of the reason is that faster hardware has allowed programmers to make different tradeoffs between speed and convenience, depending on the application.6 At the top schools, I'd guess as many as a quarter of the CS majors could make it as startup founders if they wanted is an important qualification—so important that it's almost cheating to append it like that—because once you get over a certain threshold of intelligence, which most CS majors at top schools are past, the deciding factor in whether you succeed as a founder is how much you want to say and ad lib the individual sentences. This essay is derived from a talk at the 2005 Startup School. Preposterous as this plan sounds, it's probably the most efficient way a city could select good startups. Most will say that any ideas you think of new ideas is practically virgin territory. Exactly the opposite, in fact. Whatever computers are made of, and conversations with friends are the kitchen they're cooked in.7 That was exactly what the world needed in 1975, but if there was any VC who'd get you guys, it would at least make a great pseudocode.
If this is a special case of my more general prediction that most of them grew organically. Writing software as multiple layers is a powerful technique even within applications. The more of your software will be reusable. Using first and rest instead of car and cdr often are, in successive lines. Of course, I'm making a big assumption in even asking what programming languages will be like in a hundred years? It must be terse, simple, and hackable. It becomes: let's try making a web-based app they'd seen, it seemed like there was nothing to it. Both customers and investors will be feeling pinched.8
The main complaint of the more articulate critics was that Arc seemed so flimsy. That's how programmers read code anyway: when indentation says one thing and delimiters say another, we go by the indentation. You need that resistance, just as low notes travel through walls better than high ones. Maybe this would have been a junior professor at that age, and he wouldn't have had time to work on things that maximize your future options. How much would that take? It's important to realize that there's no market for startup ideas suggests there's no demand.9 You'll certainly like meeting them. It's not the sort of town you have before you try this. This essay is derived from a talk at the 2005 Startup School. I'm not a very good sign to me that ideas just pop into my head.
Notes
Dan wrote a prototype in Basic in a series A rounds from top VC funds whether it was 10.
With the good groups, just harder. Which in turn the most successful founders still get rich from a startup could grow big by transforming consulting into a great one.
There are two simplifying assumptions: that the only way to create events and institutions that bring ambitious people together. A has an operator for removing spaces from strings and language B doesn't, that's not as facile a trick as it was putting local grocery stores out of their portfolio companies. If the next one will be familiar to anyone who had worked for a really long time? One new thing the company they're buying.
If I paint someone's house, the growth in wealth in a bar. I didn't need to warn readers about, just as much the better, but they start to be about 50%. Together these were the impressive ones. Other investors might assume that P spam and P nonspam are both.
All he's committed to is following the evidence wherever it leads. The point where things start with consumer electronics.
If they're on boards of directors they're probably a cause them to keep them from the VCs' point of a press hit, but that we wouldn't have understood why: If you have two choices and one or two, and so on. But if so, or in one where life was tougher, the same reason parents don't tell the whole story. Incidentally, the switch in mid-twenties the people they want.
Trevor Blackwell points out, First Round Capital is closer to a clueless audience like that, except in the median VC loses money. Unless of course reflects a willful misunderstanding of what you care about, just those you should seek outside advice, and this trick, and so don't deserve to keep them from leaving to start or join startups. There is not much to seem big that they only even consider great people.
You also have to do it right. In every other respect they're constantly being told that they are bleeding cash really fast. Probably more dangerous to Microsoft than Netscape was.
In theory you could probably improve filter performance by incorporating prior probabilities. If you have the concept of the reason for the coincidence that Greg Mcadoo, our contact at Sequoia, was no great risk in doing a small proportion of the subject of language power in Succinctness is Power. As I was there was near zero crossover. Some urban renewal experts took a shot at destroying Boston's in the evolution of the next year they worked.

spot the difference:  excalibur kitty pryde v. evolution kitty pryde
𝙴𝚇𝙲𝙰𝙻𝙸𝙱𝚄𝚁:
academics.  in junior high (so grades 7-9, approx. ages 12-14), she was enrolled in college courses and was so ahead of her peers that she barely had anything to do with them, and rarely ever saw them.  like a lot of gifted kids, she sees herself as “better” than her peers and she can be quick to alienate kids her own age, and isn’t entirely sure how to socialise with them.  she got off on the wrong foot with the new mutants even before getting put on their team by calling them babies, despite the fact that some of them were older than she was.  problem was, she had more experience and was smarter, thus, age didn’t factor into her assessment.
the two exceptions to this rule are her two roommates, illyana and rachel, but it should be noted that, as roommates, both spent a lot of time with her to break these barriers.  and both had such horrific childhoods, illyana in limbo and rachel as a hound in the future, that they were forced to grow up and mature faster than kids their age.  and, thus, like kitty, they both also don’t really have much of a connection / fit in well with their peers (unless they work at it), so they’re more exception cases than the norm for kitty re: friends her age (though rachel IS maybe a few years older than her anyway).
aggression.  as noted above, kitty had very little to do with her peers and, after joining the x-men at 13 (and a half), her main influences were those she served on the team with (namely ororo, colossus, kurt, logan and the professor, with scott and psylocke also featuring).  of those, she forged strong bonds with kurt, logan and ororo, but she takes after wolverine a lot, even using his phrase bub when in a bad mood.  she’s pretty quick to resort to violence, though she’s of course mindful of who she’s up against.  the goal is to hurt, not kill (though when she’s mad she often thinks about how good it would be to kill them).  granted, she doesn’t understand wolverine’s “berserker rages”, and isn’t much like that, until she joins excalibur and Sees Some ShitTM that makes her understand what whole consuming hate and rage feels like.
also worth noting during this time she’s dealing with a lot, including loss of those who were like family and chronic pain, but even so she has a pretty short fuse and will punch you in the face.  or, in the case of a friend, will have something smart and sarcastic to say.  also kitty is very much the type of person where, if she’s mad, she’s mad at the whole world and will unduly take her anger out on people who aren’t even remotely responsible for her misery.  she gets better about not yelling when she lashes out (she mostly drops that by excalibur), but she still lashes out with mean / sour comments or gets very snappish and snarly.
authority.  again, like logan, she doesn’t always take kindly to authority.  granted, she does tend to like her teachers and likes to receive praise from them, but she will also yell at the authority figures in her life without batting an eye.  she will also go against their wishes, too, like facing threats on her own to prove she belongs on the x-men main team instead of the new mutants.
colour palate.  she loves colours, mostly jewel tones and saturated colours.  blues and hot pinks and creams.  when she wears her cream sweaters, however, she’ll accent it with colours like red elsewhere.  while she used to wear the most eye-catching bedazzled outfits, she’s mainly toned it back to a bright splash of colour in her outfit, usually her shirt.  her clothes also favour comfort over style and attraction, and the one time she tries skinny jeans she hates them.
computing.  she’s a computing genius and sometimes jokingly calls herself the goddess of computers, with every right.  she especially excels at hardware, and can make a stunning array of gadgets, including a handheld non-telepathic cerebro.  she can also programme, however, one of her best friends, doug ramsey, a mutant gifted with an ability in language (including machine languages), he could often take her most mediocre efforts and make it work amazingly well and, often, handled a lot of the code and programming.  they did work together and she learned a lot from him.... but she also relied on him a lot, too, and so when it comes to software and programming, she’s not as strong as her evo counterpart for it.
confidence.  in the toilet.  again, because she has little contact with kids her age and looks down on those her age, kitty pryde tends to crush on older people who are out of her league age-wise.  they don’t really pay attention to her, at least, not in a romantic way (as it should be), but she tends to take this as rejection of who she is.  her roommates, illyana and rachel, too, are very good looking and tend to get a lot of attention that she doesn’t, and so kitty goes through her younger years believing she’s not very attractive.  she’s also incredibly self-critical and just.  doesn’t have much self-confidence outside of her ability to beat people up.
cussing.  she doesn’t outright cuss, but instead uses words like flamin’ and devil.  it doesn’t sound bad nowadays, but i’d say it’s like the equivalent of crap, and she’s constantly reprimanded for her inappropriate language when she uses these terms.
demeanour.  when she first arrives to the x-men, she’s bubbly and cheerful, if a little introverted.  by the time excalibur rolls around, she’s travelled to space, across galaxies, faced gods and aliens and her worst fears ten times over.  excalibur forms, in large part, because the x-men are dead.  she also has no real way of dealing with and working through all the trauma.  as such, she’s more serious when excalibur rolls around or, at least, knows when to get serious.  she’s still quippy but more measured and, again, she has a short fuse, a problem that’s only exacerbated by sharing a small living space with the whole the excalibur team.
music taste.  kitty absolutely had her boy-band phase, and loved dazzler (sidenote, it’s because of dazzler she wanted to wear the roller skates in her first costume) however, by excalibur, she’s refining her taste.  she still likes music she can dance to, however, her favourite band, cat’s laughing, is one whose lead singer is also kitty’s favourite writer.  it’s more refined, with good lyrics and writing.  think kind of like hozier lyrics but with more of a danceable beat.  she also likes big band music and jazz from her dancing days, music that’s old for her even then.  the key is danceability, though.
personal style.  while she absolutely detests “preppies”, kitty pryde dresses like one when she leaves the house, with collared shirts under sweaters and full on suits being things she wears out.  often, she’ll pair her outfit with her black leather jacket, a prized possession, which often lends a bit of toughness to her otherwise preppy look.
at home, it’s usually it’s loose sweaters / shirts and leggings with her hair restrained in a ponytail, especially when she’s working on something.  she also wears glasses when tinkering.  as mentioned above, she always has a splash of colour somewhere, which applies to at home as equally as going out.
because this is the 80s-90s, when she dresses up (and even her costume), the outfit usually features poofy sleeves and/or very pointed and defined shoulder pads.
relationships.  as colossus and pete wisdom are not canon here, she hasn’t had a canon relationship, which also feeds into her insecurities and low self-confidence.  again, because she tends to have eyes for older guys and gals, relationships rarely pan out for her.  occasionally, however, someone her age catches her interest (in canon, part of her loved doug ramsey, for instance, because although he was her age, he, no pun intended, spoke her language) but, usually, she needs to be forced to see people her age.  like with larry, she was told by a teacher to dance with him at a school dance and only then did she find out he was pretty nice (that ended badly but the Concept applies).
teamwork.  kitty tends to do her own thing.  she can and does operate as part of a team, but she doesn’t always coordinate well with them.  she definitely starts out as more of a team player because she’s not equipped to handle situations on her own, and because she’s scared, but as she receives more training and her confidence in her abilities increases, she often thinks she can handle it on her own and grows more self-reliant.  it makes her more capable and better at devising plans, but sometimes it means she bites off more than she can chew.  as well, if she thinks she has something to prove, she’ll try and tough it out alone.
training.  she’s been possessed trained into a killer ninja by a master with a bone to pick with wolverine in a very traumatic milestone.  she hates to think about it, but the training did remain even when the “demon” did not.  she’s incredibly deadly, though she still hasn’t added the swords to her repertoire.  also, during the events of excalibur, her default state is to be phased, making her extremely difficult to target (barring her powers malfunctioning for whatever reason).
𝙴𝚅𝙾𝙻𝚄𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽:
academics.  kitty is taking advanced and college level classes and graduates a year early, however, unlike her excalibur counterpart, she’s not so far beyond her peers that she never sees or interacts with them.  at most she’s a year or two younger than those in her class and, in this verse, all of the x-men are teenagers meaning she spends a lot more time with people her age and is generally more social and more sociable.
aggression.  again, she’s got more social skills.  this translates to an increased understanding of those around her and her first tactic is to try to mediate and preserve social cohesion.  like her counterpart, she can and will stand up and say something if needed, and she will get into fights if needed, but it’s usually to protect a friend rather than herself and when there are no other routes for compromise (like when duncan takes away scott’s glasses and tries to get him kicked out of school, she shows up ready to brawl but, also, when duncan and his pals leave, she lets them, without pushing for a fight).
while sometimes sarcastic, she’s also less sharp with her sarcasm.  for her, it’s less about hurting the other person and more about highlighting the situation whereas, in excalibur, her words hit much harder.  part of this, i think, is her social cohesion with her team; she’s more mindful of how her words can hurt and, therefore, doesn’t throw them around as quick or to be mean.  she also knows how to contain her anger better; she may be annoyed and grumbly, but she won’t be yelling at someone who isn’t responsible, only maybe venting if they’re willing to lend a listening ear.
authority.  again, like her excalibur counterpart, she thrives on praise from her teachers and authority figures in her life.  unlike her excalibur counterpart, she’s much less likely to go against them and usually only does when it’s a friend on the line.
colour palate.  kitty also favours colours here, but she wears a lot of pastels that her excalibur counterpart doesn’t really.  pastel pink, sherbert orange, pale lavender.  she does also wear some jewel tones (green, burgundy and purple), but her go-tos are the pastels.
computing.  she favours software to hardware, unlike her excalibur counterpart.  she has no doug ramsey to help in this show, so she has to develop and write her software on her own.  hardware-wise she’s not inept, training with the x-men gives her a strong base with it, but it’s not something she nurtures.  because she grows up in a more typical school setting, she still wants to have a sort of normal life, and working on hardware just isn’t it.  software is easier and, as she takes a computer class, she also meets people who are into it and she can connect to over the interest, namely in risty (mystique in disguise, but obviously she doesn’t know that) and arcade (yes, that arcade, though the show changed him considerably).
confidence.  because kitty tends to like guys (yes, guys, i’ll get into the heteronormativity piece in the relationships section, but that’s deliberate wording here) her own age and they’ve liked her back and she doesn’t have the same superiority complex (resulting in looking to older people outside her league and facing their rejection), kitty in evo has way more confidence than her comic counterpart.  of course, like any high school girl she has things she hates and she does find flaws in the mirror but, on the whole, she doesn’t feel ugly or less than compared to the other x-men the same way her comic counterpart does.  (if she does feel inept next to them, it’s mainly due to her inexperience, though that inspires her to do better and eventually goes away as she gets more settled into the life of being an x-man).
cussing.  no cussing.  heckin is about as bad as she gets.  granted, as she grows up she starts cursing more but, during her years in canon her language is pretty tame.  because this is the 90s / early 00s, she does say lame a lot which, while not a cuss word, isn’t good to say, but for different reasons (ableist and rude), but that’s a different thing.
demeanour.  she hasn’t quite had the same level of traumatic experiences as her excalibur counterpart and, moreover, they’re way more spaced out than they are in the comics so she’s pretty bubbly and upbeat throughout most of high school.  this changes a bit with the emergence of mutants and when the world hates them, she’ll sometimes get down about it, but, on the whole, her world tends to look up.  like her excalibur counterpart, things do eventually take a turn for the dark and in future verses she’s more measured and has lost some of this shine, but she definitely is upbeat for longer.
music taste.  very, very pop heavy.  boy bands, britney spears, taylor swift, katy perry etc.  she’s not a jus.tin bie.ber fan but that’s about it in terms of restrictions.  as she gets older she branches out more, including into electroswing, but she’s more of a pop girl at heart.
personal style.  again, she tends to dress “preppier”, but 90s/00s style: so a collared shirt except it shows her midriff or capris and a cardigan but the shirt under her cardigan shows her midriff.  lots of midriff outfits (even her school dance dress was two pieces and showed some stomach) and collars (her costume even has like that business shirt collar thing going on).  she tends to favour comfort, too, but also pairs it with some style (like, platform sandals: comfy but also very in).  also plastic jewellery, chokers, etc.
relationships.  as she goes to school and has a lot of contact with her peers, she actually crushes on and dates people her own age in this show (and we love to see it).  granted, she kind of lets a lot of things slide in her first relationship that aren’t cool, something which informs her relationships going forward (in that, she realises they weren’t okay and isn’t going to take it in future ones), and her first relationship is very, no pun intended, rocky, with break ups and get togethers galore but.....it’s with someone her own age which, have i said how much we love to see it?  because kitty is in school in the 90s/00s, and felt the pressure to try and fit in for longer, she absolutely internalised some heteronormativity (in the comics, too, but she sheds that faster after leaving school so young and joining the x-men), and, while she looks at women, it’s very much in a “wow i love that outfit on her” or “wow how’d she get to look so pretty, i gotta ask for tips” way, and it takes her time to connect this to an interest in women, too so, generally, for her canon / high school years, she only really looks to guys/male presenting peers in a romantic way (or, that she connects to as romantic).
teamwork.  finally, she’s better about working in a team here, too.  partially because she doesn’t have the skills to be completely on her own (no ninja training til post canon) and partially because her team is all the same age and her friends both at school and at home, she’s more used to looking to them for support, especially scott.  something happens and her first instinct is to go to him and get his take on it.  sometimes she’ll still act on her own but, barring a time crunch or someone really instantly in danger, she favours waiting for the team.

There is no better way to get to know someone than through a good question tag. In this case we have decided to make an Indie game dev question tag with the responses of our four developers. We hope that it will reveal many unknowns, but if you are left with any questions, do not hesitate to use our ask.
What part of game development are you responsible for?
Athe: I write and write, I melt in my seat, I correct, I cry and then I program. It’s an endless cycle. Occasionally I laugh like crazy while I eat Pringles.
Sam: I draw and color without leaving the lines (almost always) the sprites, the illustrations and the ravings that usually occur to us past 3 in the morning.
Illy: English translations.
Sher: I draw BGs
What tools do you use (hardware / software)?
Athe: Recently my desktop PC has passed away, so I’ve had to rescue my old PC from the garage. I also have a laptop that saves my life more times than I would like to admit. As for the software, I need, above all, drive documents, video editing programs, image etc (I have an Adobe package) and of course Renpy and Atom.
Sam: My main friend and companion is my tablet, a wacom intuos S (pistachio color, so cute). As programs I mainly use the Paint Tool Sai, because there is nothing in this life like its stabilizer. And less frequently than I would like (for details, texture brushes, effects ...) I also use Clip Studio Paint, which I only know how to use at about 2% of its capacity ... If someday I have time I would love to stop and learn seriously what can be done with it.
Illy: During the school year I live in a residence, so I use an old laptop, and when I return home I use a desktop computer that never has memory space. I translate the chapters in the same Atom where the complete script is and I keep them in google drive files where I share them with our beta reader. I also use editing programs like photoshop when I have to translate comics or procreate for when my artistic skills are required.
Sher: ipad+procreate+some final tweak in photoshop, I don't need much more
What is your favorite part of the job?
Athe: Would it be wrong if I say that is when we released the episode? During the whole production time everything is very stressful, there are times when it’s really uphill, but when we release a new chapter it feels soooo good. It's like saying to yourself, yeah, dammit, I can do it. Look at everything you've climbed by yourself. You're doing it right.
Sam: In general, my favorite parts are when the first scenes start to be programmed, and I can see the sprites with the backgrounds, the texts, and how the illustrations look. Everything always looks so much better when viewed in-game… I also really like being able to check out the script as it is written. And from the artistic part that concerns me, when I see that my hands capture the idea that I had in my head ... Especially in character designs.
Illy: Having to find a way to translate very spanish expressions into English, research vocabulary that I have never had to use and commenting on some translations with our beta reader (which we adore) to make it understandable without losing the original meaning.
Sher: I like to do the lineart when the sketch is complete, if I no longer have to think about anything else and it's just going through it, I find it very fun and relaxing
What is the most difficult part for you?
Athe: Offf, yes, I admit it, sometimes writing is the WORST. Other times I love it, especially when I can expand on the descriptions or stop at a part that is intimate or that I find interesting (for example, Hasiel's conversation from 6.3, small spoiler: P). But, I HATE having to paste scenes, often the protagonist moves between scenes and you always have to add lines to those transitions that really do not interest anyone, but that otherwise the text would be confusing. Anyway... It is a very wide world, with a lot of history, I have to deal with what I need readers to know to understand the facts, although sometimes it gets a bit boring.
Sam: What part does not... Rather who e.e Zihel and Ariel are a thorn in my side. Especially Zihel. I know it has to do with the fact that it has never been my strength to draw boys, and much less if they are more masculine in appearance... That's why I also suffer a lot from drawing muscles. Another thing that brings me a headache is the perspective of the illustrations. Every time I try to get out of the typical shot or poses a little... It doesn't work out.
Illy: Doughy’s  stuttering ¬.¬
Sher: chairs, sofas, tables... anything with four legs is my enemy
Anything to help or encourage you while you are working?
Athe: I need music, no, seriously, I NEED IT. I’m unable to focus without it. If, on top of that, I can get what I hear to act as a sounding board for what I write, the text is a thousand times better... But the muse is a pretty bad person.
Sam: Having a show/movie in the background that entertains me. The longer the better, so I don't have to stop to think what I want to put on next.
Illy: Eating sunflower seeds to trick my brain and not be tempted to do something else that distracts me.
Sher: I try to see other artists to motivate and inspire me before I start drawing, what I find most difficult is that initial push and that is where I need the motivation, then I usually have something in the background but it is not necessary
Something that’s a pet peeve or discouraging?
Athe: Some narrative climax moments. Generally, they are not important plot moments (that is almost entirely decided), they are often small decisions to go from scene A to scene B, but I can spend a LOT of time deciding which is the fastest and best way to tie those two ends. I'm the worst.
Sam: Many times when starting, I can't get the poses to fit the way I want, for example.
Illy: Finding many parts in a row that I find especially difficult to solve and that make me believe that I have forgotten how to English properly. And looking at how many lines I still have left.
Sher: When I don't know how to fill in some area, if I see something very empty but I don't know how to solve it, I can spend days looking at the screen without being able to advance, even if I have other areas that I could do in the meantime
What is required on your table or work surface?
Athe: Notebooks, sticky notes, pens… I’m a person who writes everything down, especially the tasks, but I also order the story by color schemes. The stack of sticky notes have 9 different colors, each one represents a character and I play a lot with them for a lot of nonsense. Besides, even though I have been writing on the computer for many more years than I wrote by hand, I still have a preference for the analogical.
Sam: Coffee, sweets, chocolate, cereals... And cats.
Illy: My phone, the sunflower seeds, a Capital America: Civil War 1L water cup, sticky notes that remind me of tasks.
Sher: I have nothing really lol all my things are for decoration
Your most productive hours?
Athe: Owl. Totally nocturnal. Although I have several crises a month to force myself to work at other times that always end... Wrong.
Sam: Also at night for the most part, although I can no longer stay awake as long as I endured before having a job (the good old days...) However, in the middle of the afternoon, when the zoo that I have at home is still taking a nap, I also manage to go a long way.
Illy: From when I finish eating until 7 or 8 in the afternoon, when I don't have to cook, clean, run errands...
Sher: I take over for Illy apparently, from 7 or 8 is when I start to get into the mood until bedtime
Do working hours make you forget to eat or make you eat twice as much?
Athe: It depends, in the past I ate a lot, now if I have stress I don't eat anything. If I'm in a normal productive phase and I'm not on my nerves, I'm probably eating by inertia.
Sam: They make me eat more, but especially junk food e.e And they make me forget healthy meals, especially dinner at night.
Illy: It depends on my mood, but I usually eat twice as much.
Sher: I'm generally a VERY distracted person so I don't usually get to focus on a task to get to either of those two modes but I guess when I am sooooooo much on the task, I forget. But that happens like a couple of times a year and "forgetting" is "I delay an hour."
What part of your set up would you improve / change (in aesthetics or functionality) if you had no money limit?
Athe: I'm trying to match some of my peripherals with the rest. They are all a damn different color, apparently I'm cursed... Now seriously, I wish I had a better graphic card that would allow me to make video captures, some speakers and a quality printer.
Sam: Actually, I don't think I need anything more complex than what I already have… But if I had to improve something, I'm curious about the most professional tablets, the big ones with the included screen and all that stuff.
Illy: A new laptop that lets me open 4 chrome tabs, Atom and photoshop at the same time without dying.
Sher: A pc screen that will not change the colors I use on the iPad would be nice, really
Which character are you most like? And why?
Athe: Phew I think the easy answer would be to say Akane ... But, Akane is a better person. : P
Sam: This is very difficult... They are all very different, but still I do not think I look much like any of them. If I have to say something, I could identify with Maske's tendency to avoid problems, and his more homey and calm side. And well… Since Akane has been an OC of mine for many years, surely I have something of her too.
Illy: I think I partly have Maske's instinct to stay out of trouble, and on the other hand Joe's shallowness, although tbh I wish I really did look like any of our awesome babies.
Sher: surprised because (unpopular opinion around here) is one of those who I "least care" about really but I would say that Pin because he is a little dumb, happy and probably has a Satanic room and proud of it
Favorite CG/art.
Athe: AT THE MOMENT. Maske chapter 1. It couldn't be more predictable. I know.
Sam: I quite agree with Maske in chapter 1. But I would also put Pin in chapter 5 and Akane in chapter 6.2 on the top.
Illy: Kyeran in Coco's tank ?? Is he even real? Being basic is my brand.
Sher: surprised again and disappointed but I would say that of angel Hasiel because I like pretty dresses, pretty hairs and pretty wings
Favorite BG/scene.
Athe: The Red Light District amazes me. I already liked the life of that place, its history, but the way of expressing it... Uggg Sher took it to another level. The dirt on the street, the night, the constricted buildings...
Sam: I think I’ll say Raziel’s square, I like it a lot from the first day.
Illy: I don't know if I can choose just one T__T but I would say that the Red Light District and Valefar's pub are at the top.
Sher: for not repeating the red light district that I also like very much, I really like the areas of Coco's laboratory, including the “main” area although the perspective is horrible and makes the characters look tiny, but I like how it looks :(
Your favorite chapter to date?
Athe: Ufff... The first and second one I assure you no, hahaha. I will say that the third one, but also for things that are not necessarily from the chapter, but of the production. It was a good moment. I felt that everything was flowing with ease. We all assumed a clear role, they were times that made us feel comfortable and capable of assuming what came next, I think it was a qualitative leap also, both in texts and in art.
Sam: Oh. Well let's see... Chapter 5 is amazing for me, for everything that happens but also because there are many personalized interactions and choices. I can't say I have a definitive favorite, but it could come close… Also from the last ones I really like the 6.2.
Illy: Chapter 5 has so many details, so many things happen, it's hard not to be my favorite. But the last ones with the specific routes are so great that if I stay with the 5 it’s with the  pain of my heart to have to choose one.
Sher: I would say 5 also because in the end when a lot of things happen is when you remember the most

🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧🚧
Illy: Las traducciones a inglés.
Sher: Hago fonditos
Sam: Qué parte no… No sale bien.
Athe: Los nudos narrativos.
Y mirar cuantas líneas me quedan todavía.
Athe: Libretas, post-its, bolígrafos…
Sam: Ay. Pues a ver…

What Rhymes With “AIR”?
1. Are the walls of your room bare or do you have things hanging up there? I have some things on the wall, yes. A few paintings, Audrey Hepburn wall decors, and a poster of Nam Joo Hyuk. I used to have wrestling posters but my mom, ever the control freak, removed them because she didn’t like them. Sigh.
2. When’s the last time you went outside to enjoy the fresh air? I went out this morning to take Cooper to the vet for his anti-rabies shot. I didn’t necessarily do it to enjoy the fresh air, but that came along with the experience as well anyway.
3. Do you watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? I started watching it this month actually! It’s super fun and Will Smith’s physical comedy is hilarious, but it isn’t really the type of show I’d binge-watch given how old the jokes and some of the tropes already are. I definitely don’t dislike it, but I just take longer to watch the episodes.
4. When’s the last time it felt like you were walking on air? Sunday, when I had my virtual grad and found out my parents and aunt and uncle got all my favorite food delivered to the house :) We had baked sushi, baked samgyeopsal, Pancit Malabon, and pichi-pichi that day, aaaaahhhhhh.
5. Have you ever been on air, on a radio station? Very briefly. One of our field trips in high school was a visit to a major broadcasting network, and we we were brought to their AM radio studio. The broadcaster on air at the time – one of my favorites of all time – welcomed us and gave us a chance to say hi on air.
6. Have you ever felt like all of the air was coming out of your lungs? Sure, but I guess it’s more accurate to say that I’ve occasionally felt the sensation of my chest increasingly tightening.
7. Has it seemed as though anything has ever disappeared into thin air? Have you ever pulled an idea out of thin air? The first one, yes. I have this stupid ability to drop a certain thing and have it disappear forever; I hate that it happens to me all the time lol.
I can relate with the second situation as well; when I was still in school and had to write essays, reaction papers, anything of the sort, I’d wait till the last possible minute to start working on it since it’s by then that the good ideas start pouring in.
8. Have you ever wanted to be on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”? Sure. I’ve enjoyed trivia for as long as I can remember, so the show has always been right up my alley.
9. Do you know a billionaire in real life? No. I know a loooot of CEO kids, kids of MNC owners/executives, and kids of political dynasties though...comes with the environment I grew up in and the schools I went to.
10. Would you like to be an heir or heiress to a fortune? I wouldn’t say no to that.
11. Would you be able to successfully get away if you ever came across a bear? The one thing I keep hearing is to stay very still, so I’d be doing my best to do just that. I got no other survival skills though and if there’s apparently anything more that needs to be done during a bear encounter, then I don’t know of them.
12. Where’s your favorite place to go? How long does it take to get there? Hmm I’ve loved going to many places. My favorite vacation spots so far have been Sagada - that’s a 15, 16-hour road trip from Manila; Vigan - 8-hour road trip; and Palawan - an hour or so plane ride from Manila. If we’re taking nearby places, I like going to coffee shops to unwind and have a pastry or two. I don’t have a favorite one; I just go to whichever one’s the nearest to me at the moment.
13. How often do you err on the side of caution? I keep it at a healthy 50/50. There are times I’m okay with taking a big leap, but if I’m not super invested in something anyway and/or if there’s not a lot in it for me, I play it safe.
14. How often do people say they’re angry with you? My life revolves around being a (very cautious) people pleaser and making sure I don’t piss off people. The only people who have told me they’re angry with me are my mom and girlfriend.
15. Do you own any long underwear? I have never heard of these until today. I’d love to live somewhere so cold I need to wear clothes specifically meant to be worn underneath my actual outfit lol
16. How much Tupperware do you own? I’m Filipino, man. Filipino moms practically make it their life’s mission to collect as many Tupperware containers as they can. I’m pretty sure we have a bunch that we didn’t even own to begin with - just magically ended up in our cupboard after all the parties and gatherings we’ve had hahaha.
17. What color is your underwear right now? Green.
18. Do you still sleep with a teddy bear? I never slept with stuffed animals; I preferred pillows.
19. What pair of your shoes has the most wear and tear? In my first year of college the only shoes I owned was a pair of Keds. Used it for everything and it unsurprisingly ended up being super worn out - soles got detached from the shoe and all that. I think we still have it here at home – still destroyed – but it’s been untouched for a while.
20. Do you like to play Solitaire? It was a great boredom buster game for me for a time, especially when phone apps weren’t all that expansive yet. I haven’t played it in many months though.
21. Do you or your family own a full set of silverware? We do.
22. What do you have to take everywhere with you? Phone, wallet, car and house keys. Because of school I’ve also developed a habit of accidentally bringing my laptop nearly everywhere I go – I brought it to the vet once, lol
23. Would you like to visit Delaware? Yes. Delaware actually stands out in my memory because I remember reading in a kids’ almanac many years ago that it was the first to become a US state. Ever since then I’ve kinda bookmarked the place in my head.
24. Last time you received dental care? December. My tooth had been hurting for a couple of months but it became absolutely unbearable by that month so I had to book an emergency appointment days before Christmas. I felt super bad for the hassled dentist (who doubles as a family friend, which made it more embarrassing)... but at that point I was crying myself to sleep every night and would wake up at 3 AM crying in pain, and I would’ve done anything for the toothache to go away.
25. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Somewhere brutally cold.
26. Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? I’ve never been able to relate to this question, lol soz.
27. Are you satisfied sitting here, taking this survey, or would you rather be elsewhere? I’m satisfied for now. I found more potential leads when it came to job-hunting and I’m not feeling too anxious anymore. I’ve been so focused on looking for corporate communications/PR jobs in the private sector that I forgot about the possibility of applying my skills in something I’m even more passionate about - museums! We have a few government agencies focused on museums, culture, and the arts and I definitely see myself performing in the jobs they offer. It’s even better because it’ll help me get my foot in the door in government positions, and as someone who’s indecisive about law it’ll be a great bridge to start with. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
28. Last time you sat in a barber’s chair? Early March.
29. Do you own any cans of compressed air? I’m not sure...had to look that up. Maybe we do? Idk. Dad will sometimes hoard random grownup stuff from the hardware store so I’m not ruling this one out.
30. Do you have a swivel chair at your desk? Nope.
31. Do you prefer an armchair or a rocking chair? Rocking chair.
32. Would you rather have a beanbag chair or a hanging swing chair in your room? Hanging swing chair sounds so hipster and awesome lol. I’ve had my time with a beanbag chair anyway.
33. What’s the last non-survey related questionnaire that you had to fill out? SSS form.
34. Are there any crimes that you feel make someone deserving of the electric chair? Not really a death penalty kinda gal, but if anyone had to sit in the electronic chair it’ll be people torturing and abusing animals for fun.
35. Do you know anyone who uses a wheelchair? Yes.
36. Do you know anyone who is on welfare? I probably do.
37. Do you play Modern Warfare? Nopes.
38.   Do you ever feel like life is unfair? It is, objectively. I’m a little pessimistic when it comes to this.
39.   Have you ever visited Times Square? No. I dunno if I wanna go there...it seems so crowded and claustrophobic, not to mention super tourist-y haha. I’d love to visit once just to see the bright lights and the giant ads, but I’d much rather be at museums and historical sites.
40.   Do you tell people to “take care” at the end of a conversation with them? Sometimes. I’ve been saying it a lot more often these days, for obvious reasons.
41.   Where is somewhere that you would like to move to? Canada. But I also feel like if I moved there immediately it would be such a culture shock in terms of the weather, culture, how far away I am from family, etc. and I doubt I would cope well. I suppose I can move to either Vietnam or Singapore first, as kind of like a baby step.
42.   What is something in your home that needs to be repaired? One of the stovetop burners stopped working last night and my dad’s determined to fix that.
43.   What kind of sleepwear do you own? I go to bed in just my normal home clothes; I don’t change to anything else.
44.   What skin care products do you use? Water. ;) I’m one of the lucky ones lol.
45.   Do you have any spyware on your computer? Nope.
46.   Do you own any sportswear? What sports? I have athletic shorts from when I played table tennis.
47.   Do you like Fred Astaire? Sure. I’ve only seen one movie of his (Funny Face) and he was a delight in that.
48.   How long does it take you to prepare a meal? I only ever make instant meals, oops.
49.   Do you know anyone named Pierre? Yes, Eva’s youngest sister is a Pierre. I’m just not sure if it’s also the same spelling.
50.   Are you going nowhere fast? I hope not. I’m giving myself a quick break for now after studying for 18 years straight but like I’m not out of ambition or anything like that at all.
51.   How often do you have a nightmare? Not very. They only show up when I’m going through a depression. My last nightmare was two or so years ago.
52.   How often are you able to catch something in mid-air? It’s unpredictable with me. Some days my reflexes are great but sometimes I’ll just be so clumsy.
53.   What do your lawn chairs look like? Brown and wooden.
54.   How many chairs are at your dining/kitchen table? Six; just right for our family of five.
55.   Favorite type of footwear? Sneakersssssss.
56.   When’s the last time one of your senses were impaired? From what? My left eye still gets irritated from time to time. We never really found out what’s wrong with it; my first checkup happened on the day before lockdown, so we never got to go back. When it starts to act up, I usually have no choice but to wait for it to go away.
57.   Have you ever been in a hot air balloon before? No. I’ve been to hot air balloon festivals though. That’s enough for me haha; I’m not desiring to be in one and be up in the sky.
58.   Do you have a good health care plan? My parents do for us kids.
59.   Last time you went to the hardware store? Months ago.
60.   Have you ever played foursquare before? No. I thought that was just a website. Oops.
61.   Do you own any types of eyewear? I’ve worn a pair of glasses since I was 11. I had needed them much earlier but my mom always thought I was being a sissy and just ‘wanted’ glasses to fit in with other kids. It was such a stupid mindset, and it was so stupid of her to not believe her kid WHO WAS STARTING TO NOT SEE. It was only when I took an eye exam at the school clinic and the school wrote her a letter that she finally believed me, but I had been suffering for a while and could barely read the chalkboard for like two years, which definitely affected my grades.
62.   What brand of cookware do you have a lot of? Not sure about brands.
63.   Nothing can compare to: Having a complete, loving, and supportive family.
64.   Have you ever worked in a childcare center? I haven’t.
65.   Do you have a “beware of dog” sign on your gate? Nah. I usually say it myself. Kimi never got used to strangers.
66.   Have you ever attended daycare as a child? I guess you can say that? It wasn’t daycare per se but some malls used to have play areas/centers and my mom used to drop me off in those while she ran errands for a few hours. Those aren’t too common nowadays because I guess it’s more dangerous to leave your kids now, even with attendants, but they were a fun part of my childhood.
67.   Are you very aware of your surroundings? I’m honestly a little ditzy so no. I always need a more responsible, more street smart friend by my side especially when I’m going somewhere unfamiliar.
68. Have you ever had an au pair or a nanny before? We used to have househelp, but we never saw them as nannies. A vast majority of them never met my mom’s (extremely high) expectations and quit in a few weeks or months, sometimes even days; the few ones who did eventually wanted better lives for themselves and resigned after a few years, which we didn’t stop them from doing. At some point my mom gave up having help around and realized that ultimately, she’d rather clean up and do chores her way.
69. Do you know anyone who has had an affair? Yes.
70. How much are you willing to spend on airfare? I’ve never bought my own ticket so I don’t know how much they’re supposed to be on average...but I imagine I’m willing to pay a lot of money if it means going to the destinations of my dreams.
71. Who do you care about the most? The friends that I count as family.
72. Are you more likely to choose truth or dare? Truth. I’m too shy to do dares and I’ve never had a problem telling the truth anyway.
73. Have you ever seen the Blair Witch Project before? Yes, a few times.
74. Do you like the name Claire? Would you spell it with or without the I? I love it, it sounds elegant and graceful and it’s one of my favorite names. I prefer it with an I – I don’t know any Clares, actually.
75. Last time you went to a fair? Last week of January.
76. What can be done to make life more fair? Ending world hunger and poverty and making education accessible for all.
77. How much are you willing to spend on cab fare? Not much. Cab fares should be fair after all.
78. Do you have a lot of flair? To some extent, I guess. I’m certainly not dragging myself down haha.
79. Do you own flare jeans? Nopes.
80. Is there a glare on your computer screen right now? There isn’t.
81. When’s the last time someone glared at you? Sometime in the last week would be a safe guess. My mom will sometimes communicate through glares and I’ve picked up the habit from her as well.
82. What type of hair do you have? (color, length, texture, etc) How often do you wash it? It’s black, quite thick, a bit on the wavy side, and has a tendency to get frizzy when it’s humid. Length-wise, it currently reaches just my collarbones. After a rebonding disaster around a decade ago my hair got a bit dry and it never really recovered from that, so I need to wash my hair with a giant blob of conditioner every time I take a shower otherwise it would get dry and hard.
83. Do you know the difference between a rabbit and a hare? I know hares are larger, but that’s about it.
84. Do you like to eat eclairs? LOVE them.
85. What do you consider to be your lair? My car has served as my safety bubble for so many depressing days in college. That’s why I got a little heartbroken when my dad told me he might have plans to sell it to my aunt (his sister).
86. A female horse is called a mare. What is a male horse called? A baby horse? Stallion; foal. Thank you, kid’s almanacs haha.
87. Have you ever used Nair before? Did it work? I used Veet in middle school when razors still scared me. It worked, but it took a whiiiiile and sometimes it wouldn’t even take all the hair off, so eventually I just started shaving.
88. Has anyone ever told you to “grow a pair”? No, and no thanks.
89. What is something that you own a pair of? Dogs.
90. What is a rare quality that you have? Other people will have to answer that. They’re the ones who see me and get to decide what’s rare about me.
91. Last food you pared? I don’t think I’ve done that.
92. Do you know someone who is a debonair? Sure.
93. Do you like to scare others for fun? No.
94. What is something that scares you? The idea of being in a plane crash, for one.
95. Do you like Sonny and Cher? Can’t say I’m a fan or that I’ve listened to anything of theirs.
96. Do you know how to share? Do you like to share? Sure. The only thing I’m a little selfish about is my food lol.
97. Have you ever played a snare drum before? A few times before, yes.
98. What do you do with your spare change? I give them to the tambays who help me get out of parking spots. That or I use it to buy food in school, since everything in UP’s cheap enough to pay with coins.
99. Do you know how to put on a spare tire? No. I’m interested to learn though.
100. Have you ever gotten a spare while bowling before? Yep, it’s happened a few times.
101. When’s the last time you wished someone would spare you the details? A week ago.
102. Do you win games fair and square? Sure. I’ve only cheated once and that was on an exam.
103. Do you know how to find the square root of something? Not anymore. I do have a bunch of perfect squares still memorized, though.
104. What are the characteristics of a square shape? Four equal sides that are also right angles.
105. Have you ever been called a square before? No. I don’t know what that means either, so if I got called that I wouldn’t know how to react.
106. Do you prefer the elevator or the stairs? Elevator.
107. Do you ever stare at other people? Only if it’s a bizarre situation. Once when this drunk guy got arrested in BGC and was being physical with the police, I stared and watched the whole thing. I do try to look away for most scenarios though.
108. How often do you swear? A few times a day.
109. Do you ever “swear on your life”? It’s not a saying that I commonly use, no.
110. What do you like to “tear up”? Eh, I don’t really like tearing up things.
111. What type of wares would you sell? Not interested in sales or business, so that’s a pass for me haha.
112. What kinds of clothing do you like to wear? I like wearing whatever’s trendy, as long as I genuinely like the look.
113. Have you ever had a pregnancy scare before? Never. [a-zebra-is-a-striped-horse]

What Rhymes With “AIR”?
1.   Are the walls of your room bare or do you have things hanging up there? I have some stuff on my walls.
2.   When’s the last time you went outside to enjoy the fresh air? I briefly went outside at night on the 4th of July to see the fireworks from my driveway with my family. Prior to that I hadn’t been out of the house since May and before that it had been since March.
3.   Do you watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? Sometimes.
4.   When’s the last time it felt like you were walking on air? I had one bad floating feeling experience from a bad edibles trip. I literally felt like I had to hold onto something to “stay grounded.” I also ended up getting sick. It wasn’t a fun time. I found out the hard way after that time that it didn’t take much of an edible for me to get high lol. It tricks you cause it can take a bit to kick in, so you think you need more, but nope.
5.   Have you ever been on air, on a radio station? Yeah. I used to call to request a song sometimes back in the day and my call  was on air a few times.
6.   Have you ever felt like all of the air was coming out of your lungs? Yes.
7.   Has it seemed as though anything has ever disappeared into thin air? Have you ever pulled an idea out of thin air? Yes! So frustrating. I’ll be using something and then put it down for a sec, only to not be able to find it where I thought I put it. Like for instance, it happens a lot when I’m wrapping presents. The pen or scissors I’m using always seem to “disappear.” RIP to all the pens that seemed to just vanish, too, throughout my school years. And yes, I’ve also pulled ideas “out of thin air.”
8.   Have you ever wanted to be on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”? I enjoyed playing along while watching and I even had a computer game version, but nah. I wouldn’t get far at all and it’d be embarrassing. I don’t do well with being put on the spot either.

11.   Would you be able to successfully get away if you ever came across a bear? I mean, there’s no way of knowing for sure, but I hope so?? Well, I hope to never be in the situation in the first place, obviously, but you know. There are people who have certainly been quite lucky in that situation and others not so much, so. I know you’re supposed to remain calm and not run, which I could probably do cause I’d likely freeze up in fear. I’ve seen videos of people, some of them have been children, who successfully got away.
12.   Where’s your favorite place to go? How long does it take to get there? The beach. The closest one is like 2 hours away.
13.   How often do you err on the side of caution? I’m a cautious person. And also just a big scardy cat.

Do Yourself a Favor and Get a Decent Tie Rack From Dapper Woodworks—A Free Product Review
I don’t wear a tie everyday, and I don’t have a ton of ties, but the storage solution I had for the roughly 20 ties I do have was annoying and lame. Buying a better tie rack just wasn’t a high priority for me, and thus, my ties hung on a roughly $12 hanging contraption from T.J. Maxx. It made me very, very sad.

My sad T.J.Maxx tie rack.
Enter Dapper Woodworks. The man behind the company, Justin Trewitt, has been at this for two years as a side job to help create some supplemental income for his family while simultaneously engaging his interests in woodworking and menswear. As with many business ideas, his started when he wanted a way to store his pocket squares, so he just made his own. He realized perhaps other men facing the same situation would be interested in such a product, and soon he was selling on Etsy. His product selections now include shoe horns, coat hooks, collar stay organizers, the aforementioned pocket square organizers and of course, tie racks.
Justin asked me whether I would like to have one of his custom-made tie racks in order to give my impressions and give an honest review of it (note my free product policy here. TL;DR I keep my opinions honest and don’t accept free stuff in exchange for positive coverage). I measured my closet, and since he does custom-sized racks in addition to the standard stock sizes, asked for a 20-inch rack, which he told me stores 37 ties—way more than I currently have, so I’ve got room to grow. Since it was a custom size, I got to choose the wood, peg metal and whether it had the optional top shelf. Ultimately, I picked walnut with brass pegs, with the top shelf included, which I figured might help a little bit with dust, but also provide a nice spot to store a couple belts, silk knots, collar stays and whatever else.
He set to work immediately, posting progress images on his Instagram. Within about a week, he’d finished it and was ready to s—oh no! He messaged me to say he’d accidentally made it 18 inches long, not 20. Being super apologetic, he remade the 20 inch one within a few days, and it was on its way to me.

For this type of product, it’s very simple to determine whether it’s great: Is it real hard wood, not composite? Yes. Is it sturdily constructed? Yes. Are the cuts on the wood smooth, without jagged edges? Yes. The joints are fitly joined together, the stain is even, the pegs are secure and perfectly spaced. And he’s also put the next level of fit and finish into the installation aspect. On the back are keyhole slots, just as you’d find on any professionally made wooden shelf. Included in the box is a mounting guide, but instead of a flimsy piece of paper, it’s a full-length piece of wood with holes drilled in it at the exact spacing of the keyholes. Leveling it is a breeze, the three-dimensional wood taking the uncertainty out of whether or not a piece of paper was perfectly flat against the wall.

You could probably find all of those aspects in a mass produced, ugly tie rack from Container Store for less money, just as you can also get a mass produced, cheap tie from The Tie Bar for less money than a Drake’s tie, and it’ll accomplish the utilitarian aspect of the product. But what DW is doing is vastly superior in almost every aspect: it’s much more aesthetically pleasing; you can choose from half a dozen beautiful wood grains and multiple peg styles; you know who is making it and that you’re supporting him provide for his family; and now, even better, he has begun donating a portion of every month’s sales to a nonprofit that provides education, food and medical care for children in need.
In all, it’s an excellent product befitting a fine tie collection, the pedigree of which is sterling.

That said, the price seemed really high to me, especially at first. The standard 18-inch wide tie rack starts at $140 without the shelf, and $190 with.
But, like, a single Drake’s tie is $150. On sale, you can maybe score it for $75.
This $200 tie rack holds 37 ties.
Given how sad and lame most tie storage solutions are, it’s an absolute no-brainer for someone who has a collection of beautiful ties, and who also would like to store their clothing in a way that isn’t sad. That is, if you’re trying to use wide-shouldered hangers, decent garment bags, and shoe trees in your shoes, a tie rack makes perfect sense.
My recommendation
Measure your own space and get a rack that makes sense. The 18-inch will likely fit most spaces and holds enough ties for most guys, I’d guess. I 100% recommend the top shelf. It keeps dust off the ties and is a useful spot to put things like his lapel pins or belts or artwork. I love the walnut finish, and the brass pegs make it feel masculine. Use code MM10 for 10% off.

So there’s my review: the solid hardwood Dapper Woodworks tie rack is an excellent product that gives me immense pleasure, and which exceeded my expectations in how easily Justin makes the mounting aspect. The quality is very high, being profesionally built and using materials I am confident putting my finely made ties on.
I temporarily installed the rack for the photoshoot below, because getting this rack actually inspired me to do a DIY renovation on my real closet, but I didn’t have time to get that finished before the deadline to publish this review.
I asked Justin a few questions about his background, the origin of Dapper Woodworks and what he plans next. You can check it out in full below.

Menswear Musings: What do you do for your day job?
Justin Trewitt: I’ve been working for my family’s company for the past 5 1/2 years in Plano, Tx. We do financial planning for individuals and we also just started doing business brokerage so helping people buy and sell businesses. I started in customer service, but now I do a lot of behind the scenes preparation for client meetings. Basically lots of staring at a computer screen and Excel spreadsheets.
MM: How long have you been doing DW?
JW: I started Dapper Woodworks in November of 2017 so just over 2 years now. We had just decided for my wife to quit teaching to be a stay at home mom with our first son so I wanted to find a way to create a little extra income for our family.
MM: What got you started making these tie racks?
JW: Well I got into woodworking when my wife and I bought our house a few years ago. We didn’t have a lot of furniture so I just learned how to make some! I have also been into menswear after learning to dress better in college. When I began thinking of side hustles I decided that I wanted to combine my woodworking hobby with my passion for menswear, and that’s how Dapper Woodworks began. My first product was a pocket square rack that I made for myself out of cheap wood because I couldn’t find a good way to store my collection. I figured surely I wasn’t the only one with this problem so I made an Etsy store and put it up for sale. I knew I needed more products so I made a few tie racks out of some scrap wood and hardware. It took over a month before the first order, and then people began requesting custom sizes and woods and it’s just taken off from there!
MM: Have you had a big response?
JW: The response has been way bigger than I could have ever imagined! When I began I was going to be happy with a sale or two every month. We are 2 years in now, and I just counted that we’ve sent over 400 items all over the world which is just crazy to me! I think people really enjoy them because there aren’t any good options to display your ties or accessories in a beautiful way. When you invest a lot of money into your tie or pocket square collection you might as well display it on a rack that has the same level of craftsmanship. I believe people really enjoy the custom aspect because each product is unique and is made their specifications
MM: How big is your personal tie collection and what’re you favorite ties and why?
JW: I’m in the process of redoing my collection, and filling it with higher quality ties that reflect the quality of my products. I had a bunch of cheaper ties for my previous job that I got rid of so I still trying to fill my smallest rack that holds 21 ties. My first nice tie was my Kent Wang grenadine which I absolutely recommend to anyone starting a collection. The cool part about being in the menswear space is meeting other brands, and several tie makers that are running a side business like me. I’ve got a couple of really great grenadine and shantung ties from H.N. White in England. A beautiful brown cashmere tie from Oxford Rowe. Also this incredible 7 fold tie from Shawn Christopher who is the only brand I know that makes his own ties instead of having them manufactured.
MM: What’s the most gratifying thing about this business for you?
JW: Beside being able to provide for my family this business has helped pay for my wife and I to go on 2 mission trips to plant churches in Tanzania. We needed to raise all of our own funds, and had lots of other expenses such as doctors visits, vaccines, and passports and this business helped cover all extra expenses. Also we have just partnered with our friend’s ministry Twelve21, and a portion of each month’s sales will be going toward sponsoring a child that will provide an education, food, and medical care. It’s just been really neat to trust God through this whole process, and see where he has taken us!
MM: Any new products you’re working on that you
JW: Besides the tie racks and pocket square racks, our shoe horns have been very popular this year. I’ve also introduced a few smaller items like our collar stay organizers and cedar blocks. But going into 2020 I’m hoping to add some new tools to the shop and start making some valet trays, and maybe some shoe racks. I’m always trying to think of new items that are menswear and woodworking related, and if you ever have any suggestions just let me know.
