So here I sit in a hotel room in Ashfork without a phone to get a ride anywhere. I need to get my shit together. I feel like I did when I moved to San Diego. Constantly helpless. “UrbEx Selfie” If you blink on the I-40 an hour outside of Flagstaff & you may miss the small town of Ash Fork, Arizona. Ted's Bull Pen Truck Stop is found here which was owned by the Bill Headstream & was in operation from 1973 to about 1998. He had 2 other locations, one in Quartzite, AZ, & one in New Mexico. They all seemed to close after the Quartzite location’s unground tanks leaked gas into the water supply contaminating the drinking water. All 3 closed & Bill ended up facing fines for the leakage. He passed away in 2001 & the clean up happened in 2017. The Ash Fork location had a restaurant, showers, convenience store, auto shop, & travel center. This is what remains of Ted's Bullpen in #ashfork #arizona along #historic #Route66 This was one of the busiest #truckstops back in the late #1980s ..free coffee, #satellitetv and leather recliners in the driver's lounge. So today I was in class taking a test and the teacher was called down to go to the office real quick and left us there then the superintendent came inside tiptoeing over to our teachers desk grabbed his water bottle and slapped a sticker on it we asked what it was he said “mussamad bin Ladin” and ran off he literally planned the entire prank this is why I love my school
