A mere 14+ hours late, but re: "Blondie's (Damon's) entrance into the ring."

Photographer Kevin Cummins wrote of the photo in his book: Damon was getting into the role, having his chest hairs covered in talc to tone them down and his legs shaved. He would only shave them below the knee for some reason, but despite this the photo still works brilliantly. Years later I photographed Debbie Harry, who told me she (and the band) adored the photo and I told her about Damon only shaving below his knees. "Oh, tell him I only do that too," she said. "See, it's more authentic than you thought." (Debbie Harry would sweep the 70s version of the tournament, no?)

Also in this NME album sleeve homage series is Jarvis doing Elvis Costello, and Brett doing Sid Vicious; sadly, only their spirits remain in the colosseum. Oh, how many Brits have been popped here!

Caroline insisted that we both enter the Padgett but I don’t really understand why. I don’t see the point in dancing around in a dress for a title and a crown. But I am doing it because it will make our mom happy. Slowly walking down the long staircase in the red dress I was wearing my gaze met Damon standing at the bottom of the soars whined made me confused. “Damon, what are you doing. I thought Matt was my escort.”

“Quarterback got hung up with work. So I thought I could step in his place.” He offers me his hand leading me down the last few steps and into the room with the other girls and guys.

He intertwined our hands together where we began moving our feet across the floor. My gaze dropped to the ground where he spun me out and back into his chest. “I don’t like these things very much.”

“Why’s that, Y/n?” He asked me staring softly.

Dropping my gaze to the floor I didn’t want to really tell him because he would probably find it dumb. “Caroline asked me to be in this dumb thing. But I don’t want to do this cause I know she will probably win or someone else. So why do both Forbes girls need to compete.”

"So what is the real reason you don't want to compete in this Padgett?" The raven haired Salvatore brother asked, spinning me out of his chest.

Spinning back into his chest it took me a second before I answered the vampire in front of me. Mostly because I did have feelings for him. My sister said he wasn’t a good guy and just used her when she was still human. So that was what was detouring me from telling him the whole truth. “Damon, I…I don’t feel like I am good enough to beat the girls here. Or even my sister for that matter. I’m not the one who even caught your eye.”

“Is that what you think, Y/n?” He asked raising his voice at me making me avoid his gaze until he broke through the girls dancing leading me back into the building not caring if we messed up the event. “Cause you’re completely wrong that I didn’t notice you. Because I noticed you first.”

Blinking at him I almost couldn’t process it. “Damon, I - why didn’t you say something before now?”

“Because you’re sister basically threw herself at me. And you didn’t so I just went after her. And I’ll walk, away if you don’t feel the same way-“ I cut him off without thinking I crashed his lips onto mine. Wrapping my arms around his neck I deepened it.

He moved one hand up to my face and his other went to my waist kissing me back. Leaning against his embrace where we finally broke the kiss. “Let’s get out of here. Cause this Padgett isn’t our thing.” He nodded taking my hand in his vamping us back to his house.

He’d enter your space slowly, trying to gauge how you’re feeling exactly. If you want him to sit next to you without touching you and listen. If you want him to wrap his arms around you in a hug. Or if he can grab your hand and convince you to take a walk with him and tell him what’s on your mind.  Above all, he’d listen. He’d wait. Then once you were done, he would give you what you need whether it be advice, sympathy, or help you hide a body.

If anyone was to object a KB wedding would that be Damon?

I answered a similar question here. To make this simple, almost everyone has a reason to object. However, you mentioned Damon specifically and I'd love to discuss his reaction to Klonnie's wedding as a whole.

I ship Bamon romantically and was super disappointed to see all their chemistry go to waste. The show established that Bamon is platonic but continued to do things to press their boundaries. Damon inserted himself into the relationship Bonnie had with Enzo. It had nothing to do with Enzo and everything to do with Damon's relationship with Bonnie. He's very childish with his possession of Bonnie. That's his best friend and he doesn't really want to share. He certainly wouldn't want to share Bonnie with Klaus. Damon and Klaus are similar character types. I can picture Damon feeling like Klaus was replacing him. Klaus already stole his brother Stefan in the 1920s. Stealing Bonnie is going too far. Whether you ship Bamon or not, Bonnie is special to Damon and he would not be a fan of her joining the Mikaelson family. Does Damon object? Oh he wants to. He fantasizes about it. He wants nothing more than to kidnap Bonnie and drive her as far away from the wedding as possible. What stops him? Elena (she's smart enough to know when he is plotting something), his fear of Bonnie's wrath (she would kick his ass so hard) or Damon prioritizing Bonnie's happiness (he does love her like crazy and he still hates that Klaus makes her happy).

Also, a friend of mine is very interested in starting a Bamon-centric account similar to this one. Does that sound interesting to anyone? Bamon is kinda foundational to Bonnie's fandom and it's kinda sad seeing the lack of activity on here for them.
