السلام عليكم 💐✨️
I wanted to ask what kind of channels on youtube can we muslim start? I saw the music videos are most loved and viewed on YouTube but Nahhh!!! I won't do those haram thing.
Like .. what typa channel can we start
و عليكم السلام و رحمة اللّٰه و بركاته 🍃
Such a beautiful heartwarming question Allahuma barik I love it !!!
Well, we can start channels to explain Islam to non-Muslims in simple terms or in the daily manifestation of Islam like in our daily life, or I dunno a YouTube channel depends on what skill do you have, can you design or story-tell or draw or .. ? Are you good at movie-making? Is it one person or a group of people? .. I see these videos of a group of friends quizzing each other on Islamic knowledge and it is so fun to watch! But there is also the serious ones.. and it also depends on your knowledge, if you have some Ilm and knowledge on the Quran and/ or sunnah you can share that, for example narrating stories of iconic events in the sunnah or making episodes about tafseer of some surahs or ayat, or talking about the character of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ..... Or a series to explain the names of Allah swt ..... It really depends on what you can do best .. if you are a more confident person who has the means to go onto the street and ask people about Islam that's also cool..
I hope these ideas helped ☺️!
May Allah swt help us and guide us all to do what pleases Him. Ameen.

Psm problems in spss 25
Tumblr media
The final solution is really simple (see ) and the next chapter is designed to help other plug-in developers to apply the same solution for their plug-ins. The Gradle tooling initially designed a relatively complex solution to support the dark theme.
Tumblr media
This page is nicely styled in the Photon release. The readability in the dark theme has been improved a lot by this.Īlso multiple extensions like the Gradle tooling for Eclipse have improved their styling.įor example, this is how the Gradle preference page looked before Photon. The colors of links in code element information control now take the color settings of the Hyperlink text color and the Active hyperlink text color from the Colors & Fonts preference page into account. Improved Tree and Table widget scaling at high DPI on Windows One example where this was very visible is the PDE's manifest editor. Links now consistently use a light blue color in the dark theme. Support for other languages will most likely pick this up for the next release, e.g., the PHP team is working on this in.
Tumblr media
The same work has been done for the Javadoc popup which makes the dialog much easier to read in the dark theme. Popup dialogs, for example the platform's update notification popup, now use a dark background and a light foreground color in the dark theme. Lots of icons have been adjusted to look better in both the light as well as the dark theme.įor example, the block selection, word wrap and show whitespace icons have been adjusted. To improve readability in the dark theme, bold style usage has been reduced in the Java editor and some colors that were too close to each other have been altered. The Eclipse default dark theme now includes styling for the text editor's range indicator and uses transparency for the expand and collapse buttons. Eclipse 4.8 continues to improve the default text editor. Select Dark, press Apply and Close (and restart your IDE to fully apply the theme). This brings you to the correct preference page.
Tumblr media
If you want to join this club, simply type "Dark" into the Quick Access box and press enter. Someone once said, that all the cool kids are using a dark theme these days. Continue to read to learn about the improvements in the platform and in the second part, how plug-in developers can enable their Eclipse contributions for the dark theme. With Eclipse Photon, we are shipping the best support for the dark theme so far. The releases following the initial release constantly improved the capabilities of the underlying CSS engine and the SWT toolkit to enhance the user experience. But the Eclipse platform team wanted to lay the foundation for improvements without the requirement to install external components to test and to drive these improvements. In 2014, many of restrictions existed in the CSS and SWT styling of the Eclipse workspace and the result was not very usable. A few years ago, in 2014, Eclipse IDE announced that it will ship a default dark theme.

So I was thinking of Zuko as a clearly scarred leader+Toph as a Beifong/teacher of Avatar+Teo, which all led me to thinking of war recovery including changes so there are accommodations for people who use wheelchairs, etc. Then, I was thinking of a Braille system of some kind being created+implemented, which led me to thinking about how the different nations would do it. I was thinking FN would put up like metal 3Dish plaques + EN would just bend out part of walls into forms.
And then I was thinking about the NWT+SWT. Based on research I see that different Inuit groups tend to use different stone for sculpting, and I know some do totem poles, and I know walrus ivory is used. So I guess I was thinking the SWT+NWT would probably do things differently. (I was thinking they would not do ice because ... having to touch ice? Would not be a cool accommodation.)
So, I was wondering what your thoughts are on this. Also, Do the SWT+NWT actually draw any inspiration from specific Inuit cultures/people’s? Or are the WN aesthetics just a mashup of different Inuit cultures/or a nebulous reference?
My apologies if you ever discussed any of these things before+thank you for taking the time to read this. I would love to hear your thoughts/opinions.
To answer your other asks, a good umbrella term is Circumpolar peoples. This covers all your bases and you can specify region, such as "from Greenland to Sibera" which I hear a lot in regards to the Inuit, Inupiat, and Yup'ik peoples.
That said, Circumpolar peoples don't do totem poles. Nations from the Pacific Northwest and southeast Alaska do, but we don't. You may be thinking of dance masks which can get incredibly intricate, especially the Yup'ik ones, but serve an entirely different purpose.
And now to go onto the actually questions. How would a fantasy version of Inupiaq culture do braille? Well, I'm not sure it would be entirely necessary. Unlike most of the cultures that the series takes inspiration from, we didn't really have paper or a written language pre-contact. We did use lampblack (burned animal fat in our case) for ink, but that was used for art and tattooing, not for writing words. Due to this lack of paper, our art was more three dimensional. It was beautiful fur clothes and dance masks, and figures carved of driftwood, ivory, stone, and scrimshaw. Etchings in baleen or ivory. You start at one end of the piece and "read" the story through interpreting the carved illustrations to the other end. We didn't really use signs for trails because there wasn't really a point. You would go that way your whole life and rarely ever completely alone.
But I suppose if I were to apply braille-esque signs to the Water Tribe anyway, I think they'd be treated as art pieces. The words, carved in driftwood or bone, or even baleen if you're feeling fancy, would be the most important part, but I don't think they could resist adding other designs that could be felt. I'm sure other accomodations were already worked into the culture. I'd find it hard to believe if snowblindness and having to travel in weather conditions so bad you can't see past your own nose weren't common among Water Tribesmen.
As for if they take inspiration from irl peoples, they definitely do, but I'd say it's more an amalgamation of various circumpolar peoples than any one particular group. Though many are quick to point out the Inuit influence on the aesthetic, I think it's fair to say just as much was taken from the Yup'ik peoples, shown in the photo below
Tumblr media
This Kuskokwim Yup'ik couple was photographed in 1879. Note that these hoodless parkas are longer and have slimmer silhouettes than those you typically find in traditional Inuit dress, like the ones we see in the show.
There are also discriptions of traditional caps made of the skin of a wolf's head worn by Saint Lawrence Islanders, which may have inspired the wolf helms.
In Legend of Korra and the comics it seems they were trying to put a little more effort into referencing the Inuit and Inupiat through naming. Unalaq (from "Ungalaaqłiit") and Noatak (from "Nuataaq") are both named after Inupiaq villages. Tonraq likely comes from the Inuit word "tornaq" (our word for the concept is "tunģaaq") which is a land mammal spirit summoned by a shaman. Senna likely comes from Sedna, the most popular name for an armless woman in the ocean from Inuit myth, whose bones from her missing hands and forarms became all the creatures in the sea. If you perked up at this and said "there's an armless woman in Legend of Korra too! She's also Water Tribe!" I'll let you come to your own conclusions on that.
Malina, from North and South, also gets her name from a woman of Inuit myth, who became the sun after running away from her brother (for gross and fucked up reasons) who, in turn, became the moon. Her brother Malik has a name that could mean a number of things depending on what Inupiaq word you think he's supposed to be named after, from tidal wave to lure to one birth shortly after another (the traditional lifestyle typically involved gaps of about five years between children so only one year between births was notable) to constantly following (which, knowing the Inuit myth about Malina and her brother, is a little unfortunate).
Even in the original series, you find some glimpses of the language in names. Arnook is likely from "nanuq" or polar bear, which was spelled nanook before the spirit movement in the 80s estabished a standardized written aspect of the language. Kuruk's name likely comes from "kurruk" which means to hang one's head in sorrow, shame, or disappointment, but you could interpret it as coming from longer words meaning things like to lower one's head as if to look for something or to fall head over heels.
You can check my "eskimo on main" tag for more, or send me another ask. My messages are open too, if you would prefer that

i feel like sokka and zuko would be happiest in a part-time long distance relationship. sokka has to be in the fire nation for part of the year because he's the ambassador, but would definitely spend the rest of his time at the SWT, helping katara (i feel like sokka would be vice-chief, or like the planning guy. he comes up with the ideas and katara uses her leadership skills to get them done. she calls his ideas dumb most of the time, because as the younger sibling she is legally obligated to)
sokka would definitely spend a lot of his time, if not most of it, in the south pole. I like to think he designs a lot of the infrastructure while katara uses her epic waterbending skillz to actually build his vision. they make a perfect team, not to mention aang helps too. sokka and aang would definitely also spend a lot of time in the fire nation (and I do think toph would just crash at zuko’s half the time anyway), because that’s where the sociopolitical action is. katara doesn’t like going to the fire nation so she pretty much never does, but she does travel around with aang sometimes, because she enjoys seeing new places, meeting new people, and helping everyone around the world, not just at home. and zuko also visits the southern water tribe a lot, because chief katara requests his presence, and he probably shouldn’t deny her because i heard someone say she can get pretty scary when she’s mad......
I also think sokka spends a lot of time in the earth kingdom, and not just because his best friends (sorry zuko & aang, but toph & suki are his best friends) live there. ironically, sokka is the only member of the gaang who doesn’t find ba sing se to be a complete dumpster fire of a city (he is well-aware of its myriad problems, thank you, but also the architecture is awesome????) so I see sokka lowkey spending a lot of time there. I think at some point someone (hakoda, piandao, the mechanist, aang, zuko, katara, iroh, toph, suki, etc...) would point out to sokka that he genuinely deserves to like. go to school. receive a higher education now that the war is over and he’s not responsible for the health & safety of the world’s last hope for peace. so he takes all the classes he wants and does research at ba sing se university (I don’t think we’re shown any other colleges, but I’m sure the northern water tribe has one, not that sokka would go back there if he could help it, and the fire nation probably did at some point, but it was likely turned into a military academy during the war. zuko changes that, of course). sokka deserves to actually study art & literature and, of course, science, and perhaps he also goes to the jasmine dragon to study and read and play pai sho against iroh, who wants sokka to be the new grand lotus but sokka’s just like “ugh I would but I’m just sooooo busy.......”
and once republic city becomes a thing, sokka definitely spends a lot of time there as well, with aang and suki, who keep the peace and maintain order while sokka runs around like “guys. hear me out. I know it sounds crazy, but: a bicycle with no pedals.” I know lok says zuko was aang’s co-founder but republic city screams sokka & suki all over it. zuko’s involvement in republic city is mainly just because he wants an excuse to leave the fire nation more often. he fucking hates it there. but zuko knows it would be pretty sketchy for him to make decisions on behalf of republic city since he’s the firelord and it was previously colonized territory (glares at the comics), so he just backs up sokka’s ideas, because that’s what he’s best at.
sokka wouldn’t spend all his time in one place because that’s not how he rolls, so he definitely divides his time among various spots where he’s needed. back home, for one, to be with his family and his tribe. but it also doesn’t take him long at all to realize that katara is the best candidate for chief, so he feels confident leaving the south pole in her hands when he’s gone. kyoshi island is also closeby, so he always makes a pitstop there to see his girlfriend. they’re mostly long-distance, but they’re in an open relationship and they write each other all the time, so they make it work. same deal goes for him and zuko, but he’s also just needed in the fire nation regardless of his relationship to their firelord, because his input is valuable. he travels with toph and mai a lot, because they all hate staying in place, and love each other (cool nerd squad anyone?? tell me that wouldn’t be an epic trio). and he and aang cross paths all the time, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. but his calendar is color coded and everything. so I’d say he’s got it figured out.

prologue to my zukka biopunk role-reversal AU
Tumblr media
note: It’s technically a sequel to Through the Ice Darkly, but you don’t need to read it for this snippet. All that’s required to know is that it’s set in a world where the Northern Water Tribe attacked instead of the Fire Nation. Instead of ATLA’s steampunk world, the NWT and SWT developed biopunk technologies instead. Zuko, growing up in a conquered nation, is still obsessed with the Avatar. Sokka is still the son of Hakoda, chief of the SWT, though because his society isn’t ravaged by war, he has more time for his scientific interests.
Though of course, in ATLA-verse, science and spirituality are two sides of the same coin...
They were great adapters, Sokka’s people. Clever and resourceful, they were hunters and dreamers and storytellers. Like ice, they knew how to move and reform with the seasons.
They called themselves the Southern Water Tribe, not because some among them had the power to bend water, but because they thought of themselves as water. They understood and respected the great flexibility of the world.
prologue - when Sokka meets Koh the Face Stealer - snippet under cut
The summer that Sokka was ten, Bato brought him to a hunting camp situated at the mouth of a wide bay, about two days’ journey away from Sokka’s normal home in the capital city. Sokka’s grandmother was there, along with a dozen or so families. They were there to hunt the enormous shoveller deer whose herds migrated to find food in the warmer months. Where the deer went, humans followed. And that summer, Sokka was one of them.
He didn’t want to leave home, but that was what the adults had decided. It seemed a strange and mysterious decision to Sokka, but at ten, most things seemed strange and mysterious to him. Especially Sokka’s own dad. Sokka would have protested, but in the end he loved his dad too much to say anything that could make him sad. There was enough sadness going around already that summer. So when Bato came to take him away to join Gran-Gran and  the rest of the people in the Old Village, Sokka went quietly, like the good son he wanted to be.
They called it the Old Village, but in truth the Old Village wasn’t old or a village at all. The people of the Old Village didn’t stay in one place but moved around with the seasons. In winter they built houses out of snow and ice. In spring they traveled on long sleds made of wood boards that were lashed together, and when the temperature warmed they got off their sleds and moved into sod houses instead, or pitched skin-tents to follow animals for hunting.
Once upon a time they would have built or sewed everything by hand or with waterbending. For instance, waterbenders would make the runners for their sleds out of ice, but if there were no waterbenders that generation, people put frozen moss or even frozen fish on the bottom instead, to make sure the sleds skimmed lightly over the terrain nonetheless. This was how it used to be done, but since then even people of the Old Village accepted a few modern conveniences, like sugar and steel Earth Kingdom knives and warm underclothes spun out of air bison wool, which kept out the cold antarctic air like nothing else.
Part of that flexibility meant that, a century or more ago, when some of them started building a great city out of snow and ice closer to the Pole, some of their friends and clansmen adapted. They moved within its great walls and started new lives there, trading and studying and putting their cleverness and resourcefulness to use inventing new contraptions and new ideas – new animals as well. Some of their friends and family did not do this, and they chose to live the way their people had always lived, adapting themselves to only the great machinery of nature. What was good for their ancestors was good enough for them. They shunned a city life for something bigger and wilder and free.
Neither side lived a better life than the other. They were just different, that’s all.
Sokka’s grandmother liked her life outside the cities; her son-in-law – Sokka’s dad – was content inside one. He was a very important man, and he was responsible for a lot of people, so he and his wife brought up their children inside the capital, where he was busy trying to carve out a future for all of his people. He was very concerned about their future, and because all things were connected that meant he was also concerned about his past. He often sent his children to visit his mother-in-law. He wanted them to sleep in sod houses and learn to cut deer hides and listen to old stories, so they wouldn’t forget the old ways. Where they came from.
When Sokka becomes a young man, the past will become an interesting topic for him too.  But the summer that he was ten, he wasn’t thinking about any of this. He was too busy doing two things: the first was avoiding the other boys, and the second was watching the otter-penguins.
There was a colony of them a mile away from the hunting camp. They were all the company Sokka required that summer.
A mile’s walk there and a mile back wasn’t much distance for a ten-year-old boy with a lot of energy, and a few weeks after he and Bato arrived there, Sokka began sneaking away every morning to visit the rocky beach where the rookery gathered. No one accompanied him, and he found that he liked it that away. The otter-penguins were amazingly social creatures with one another, and they accepted their strange featherless visitor with a cool indifference. Sokka had arrived just before their eggs were ready to hatch, and the penguins were more concerned about diving for food than about him.
So he spent those weeks observing them, sometimes mimicking their waddling walk for his own amusement, sometimes working on projects that he designed for himself. He built a little roofless house right by the rookery, and he built it by piling up driftwood and pebbles he found on the beach. Some days he sat there for hours, just watching the flock. He learned a lot about them very quickly. For instance, the male otter-penguins had excellent balance. Even an injured male could hold a round egg against his stomach, gracefully tumble over small precipices and trip across rocky slopes – and never drop it. And after the eggs hatched, the female otter-penguins took care of the pups in the water and held them close by wrapping them with strands of seaweed. And they each had their own names, just like humans did. The mothers and father made distinct noises to call their own pups back to them when it was time for feeding.
They did all of this, and Sokka watched. He listened. He observed.
At ten, Sokka should be doing chores around the camp: fetching and carrying, sharpening knives and harpoons, scraping the hair off hides, helping to repair and maintain the skin-canoes – that sort of thing. But he was no good at doing any of that. He was ten and going through that unfortunate phase where none of his limbs were the right length, and everything he did that summer he seemed to do wrong. He kept dropping knives and ripping up fishing nets by accident. The worse part was that the other boys didn’t even laugh at him; they gave him looks of pity instead.
Before long, he gave up on the chores and the camp altogether. He avoided the other boys, and after a while they avoided him right back, which suited Sokka fine. He’d found something more interesting to think about anyways.
That summer he was ten was a time of sunlight, rocks, penguin calls, and the rushing tides. It was the first and last time he ever applied himself to anything with such purity of purpose. He was acquiring knowledge the same way that the otter-penguins dived for fish or hatched their eggs: instinctively, without questioning why.
The little otter-penguins were cute, with their soft fuzzy heads and their wobbling walk. Sokka liked them, and though he winced when some of them were eaten by the leopard seals who prowled the dark, frigid sea, he never interfered. The fish were food to the otter-penguins, just as they were food to the seals, just as the seals might one day be food for Sokka himself. His father called it the miraculous interchange that made the universe work, and Sokka believed him. But still, he felt sad. The poor parents that had worked so hard through the winter were left with nothing to show for it. It seemed unfair..
It was sad, but Sokka could bear it. He did bear it, until one day, when Sokka himself was busy repairing one wall of his driftwood house – the colony started yipping and fussing like nothing he’d ever heard before.
Sokka ran to see what was the matter, expecting a seal or maybe even a particularly bold black whale. But when he got to the source of the commotion he nearly stumbled from the shock.
One of the penguins was missing a face.
There were no smears of blood, no telltale signs of shredded feathers. This was no ordinary injury from a preying seal. Somehow, the dark eyes and the nubby beak was gone. There was nothing but a smooth patch of feather, like someone had wiped their sleeve across a patch of snow. It was a female penguin, and she was waddling sightlessly, trying to find its way back to its hungry pups.
Sokka looked around him wildly; the mother had left her two pups a bit farther up, on a great flat rock shelf. The pups whined, but the rest of the otter-penguins were calming down now,  returning to their placid business, diving and feeding and caring for their own young. He looked back at the faceless penguin, still waddling around in circles, unable to sense the hungry cries of her own children.
What happened? Sokka had never seen anything like this before, but one thing was clear: the mother was ill, and she would not get better. He examined the pups: without a mother to teach them how to swim and feed, they would both die before the season was over.
The world was very cruel to children without mothers.
“No!” Sokka screamed out loud. “No, no, no!”
All his grief and loneliness surged up at once from a small dark space inside his heart. All the sadness he’d been carrying exploded through him, and it was such an enormous feeling that, had Sokka been a waterbender, the tides next to him would have crested and crashed with powerful roars of foam.
But he wasn’t a bender, and something else that was stranger and wilder happened instead. The world shimmered; the air itself cracked down the middle, and everything that Sokka had been so calmly and so happily observing a moment ago became strange.
Mist rolled by, even though it was a sunny day. Flying, glowing creatures zoomed around Sokka, and everything became brighter and richer in colour, even through the mist. Sokka stopped screaming, fascinated by the changes in the landscape. He wanted to chase one the flying creatures, but then something scuttled by him and left a chill running down his spine.
It was a massive being, many-legged like an insect, coal-black and plated with hard shells. It looked like a bug but it had the head of a human woman – a disconcertingly pretty one with sad grey eyes.
“Hello there,” said the bug-thing in a rasp. Its face flickered, changed in rapid succession from the young woman to an old man to some sort of animal Sokka had never seen before.
Sokka stumbled backwards, fell, and cried out again when his palms scraped against the rocks. The thing changed its faces like a dancer putting on masks for a ceremony, except it when a dancer took off their mask at the end of the ceremony, the whale or seabird went away and the dancer became human again.
Whatever this creature was, it wasn’t human.
It’s been a long time since I came this south, said the creature. But the Avatar has a powerful pull on all of us.
Sokka screamed. He tried to get up and he tried to run, but he couldn’t. One sharp pincer edged towards him. It came closer, closer–
And then a distant mountain peak, one that Sokka had seen a million times before, leaned down. It crossed the hundreds of miles between them like it was a single step, and the mountain bent its great heft over the creature, all its crag and weight bearing down with unbearable pressure, and then the mountain too spoke:
Not yet, Koh. We still need him.
The creature hissed, about to object, but then the ocean, all salt and tumbling motion, also rose up and added its presence to the mountain’s.
Leave him, said the ocean, and this command was echoed by the unseen moon and the distant aurora and the ancient rock under their feet.
“First it was the moon girl, now it’s this boy,” Koh said. “Mark my words: we’re intervening too much in human affairs, and you all know it.”
Koh gave one last look at Sokka, and then disappeared, scuttling back into the mists. Sokka was too terrified to speak, too terrified to move. All the spirits were focusing their attention on him now. He knew this instinctively,  the same way that he knew up from down, light from dark, the smell of burning deer fat from seal.
The mountain shifted; the enormous and distant rock became a heavy weight hovering over Sokka's chest. It prodded him there, like a finger.
Hello, Sokka, said the mountain, and the greeting was echoed a hundred times. A million.
Hello Sokka. Hello. Hello. Hello.
Sokka didn’t remember running the distance back to the camp, but he must have, because the next lucid thing he remembered was throwing his arms around Bato, not caring that he was leaving blood and dirt over Bato’s clothes.
“What’s wrong?” asked Bato, his brows creased with concern. “Sokka, what happened?”
Sokka shook his head. He was born and raised a city kid; he would always be one at heart. He could not describe how terrifying it was to discover that, the whole time he was looking at the world, the world was looking back.
“Bato, please,” he sobbed. “Please. I want my mother. Where is she? Where’s Mom?”
Bato patted his head and held him close. “Oh, Sokka,” he said – and nothing else.
Sokka’s grandmother was nearby too, running over from some task with her grisly knife still in hand. She clucked her tongue; wiped the blade off with a brisk motion. “Tell the boy to stop wailing and get him inside somewhere, I’ll bring him something to eat. Something warm will snap him out of it.”
Sokka raised his head from where it was buried in the material of Bato’s sealskin parka; he shook it. He wanted to stop too, but his body had other ideas. Water was running down his face: a mix of tears and snot, blood from where he had bitten his own tongue. The taste of it all was frightful, all coppery and salty, slick from the mucus building up in the back of his throat, which was too wet and too dry all at once.
“Dad?” It was someone else who came to see what was going on: Ayaliq, Bato’s own daughter. She trotted over and cuddled Sokka from his side, wrapping her little arms around him and Bato at the same time. “Don’t be upset,” she said. “It’s okay, Sokka.”
One of Bato’s hands cupped the back of Sokka’s head, a warm protective weight. “Leave him be,” he said to Sokka’s grandmother. “This is the first time he’s cried since the day itself. It’s only been three months.”
“You think I don’t remember how long ago my only child died?”
Sokka let out another howl. His vision was swimming; the force of his gasps made him light-headed. Gran-Gran gave him a sharp tap on the back of his head. The sudden jolt of pain stunned him, but it also grounded him back in reality.
“You shouldn’t have brought him here alone,” Gran-Gran said in the silence. “He needs his sister and his father with him.”
“What could I do, Kanna? The Northern Water Tribe is here making threats again; Hakoda wouldn’t leave the capital. Katara wouldn’t leave her father, not even for her brother. And I had to take him here, Kanna – at least out here Sokka’s taking an interest in something. You didn’t see him in those first few days. We could barely get him to get out of bed. He grieves hard for someone so young.”
Gran-Gran sighed. “I grieve for my daughter too,” she said. “Every day. Every minute. But death is a part of life. My grandson will learn this in time.”
Sokka wanted to say that he had already learned plenty, but instead he spat weakly on the ground and watched the string of drool stretch, then snap in mid-air. It was disgusting. He felt disgusting. He had also wet his pants, he realized, and he was so embarrassed to be like a little kid again in front of Ayaliq, that he shoved his face back into Bato’s parka. Ayaliq was a year younger than him, but she had probably never wetted her pants.
“Be kind to your cousin, Ayaliq,” Bato was saying. “And give him some time, Kanna. Let him cry for now. Just let him cry. He needs it.”
--------
Later, as a young man, when Sokka’s sister would breathlessly tell him about meeting the Avatar, the bridge between their world and the Spirit World, Sokka would scowl. He would turn away with his heart pounding.
“I prefer things that exist in the real world,” he would say, and it would come out much harsher than he’d meant it to. Katara would take it as a sign that he was judging her somehow, that he thought she was a silly girl for believing in the extraordinary. She would react badly to Sokka’s disapproval of the Avatar.
And Sokka did disapprove, though not for those reasons. He disapproved because he was afraid.
He wasn’t good at explaining it, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that the world of spirits was not necessarily friendly towards the human one. That his brief glimpse – hallucination? – of the Spirit World told him that it was brisk and insensate, that it was filled with impossible angles and geometric paradoxes. That its inhabitants were ancient and careless beings whose intelligence was beyond human, and obeyed rules set not by morality but by order and chaos. Those beings were sometimes benign, sometimes malicious, always incomprehensible. Sokka wasn’t sure he wanted to meet a person who bridged that world to theirs.
He wasn’t like Katara, always with her eye fixed on some higher purpose. The everyday world with its speechless mountains and rolling seas, its everyday interchange of energies and motion: this was enough for him. Sokka didn’t need to meet Tui and La to appreciate the wonder of the tides and the moon. What spirits that existed in this world already were vast and incomprehensible enough.
Sokka would prefer to keep the two worlds un-bridged.
He couldn’t explain this to Katara, and they would grow even further apart because of this. Piercing through to the Spirit World would be easier than crossing the chasm between them. It was as if Kya’s death had split some fundamental building block of the world as Sokka had known it: On one side, Sokka went with Bato; on the other, Katara stayed with their father.
On one side, the radiance of discovery. On the other, the terror of what he might find. And then, much later, the horror of what Sokka’s discoveries would be used for.
By the Avatar.

ATLA Q&A
Thanks for the tag @authorjoydragon As if I don’t talk about ATLA/Zutara enough (constantly folks. Just, all the time) let’s go for it!
Had to start a new thread because tumblr hates me but what else is new?
General Questions
1. Who’s your favorite character? Katara. Katara Katara Katara.
2. Who’s your comfort character? Aside from Katara? Zuko.
3. Which element would you bend? I think water.
4. Which nation is your favorite? I love how important community is in the SWT, so probably that.
5. Why do you love ATLA? Man, I just. Incredible characters. Wonderful worldbuilding. Beautiful settings. And the animals? Hecka cute. 100/10 am mad at myself for not watching it when it aired (I was at the point in middle school where “it wasn’t cool to watch cartoons.” Middle School gem was pretty insecure.)
Could get you attacked questions
1. Who is your least favorite character in the gaang? Not a huge fan of this question because I think everyone in the gaang, at some point, has done something I don’t 100% love (Except Katara. She’s perfect). But I guess I just relate to Aang the least? Wishy washy answer, I know, but it is what it is.
2. What character do you think is severely underrated? SUKI. SUKI SUKI SUKI.
3. What’s your least favorite nation? The Northern Water Tribe for two reasons. 1. I don’t handle cold anymore and 2. Sexist bastards.
4. What’s your controversial ATLA opinion? I don’t know what some people might consider controversial (since I’m still VERY new to the fandom and also very much live in my Zutara bubble) but I guess the fact that Bryke should have let the WRITERS WRITE. This is not me being like “only artists can art and only writers can write” because that’s not true. But Bryke’s strength is in character and concept design, not storytelling, and Aang’s arc (and everything they did post-canon) suffered for it.
Shipping Questions
1. What’s your favorite ship and why? Zuko x Katara. I did not know that I was such a simp for enemies to lovers until they were introduced to me. They just get each other on a level no one else does, you know? And the whole thematic parallels, and the sun/moon symbolism, I just- For a show that their main theme was BALANCE I seriously don’t understand why Zutara wasn’t endgame.
2. What’s your least favorite ship? Katara x Aang. There was no build up from her side and I will NEVER forgive Bryke for pushing Katara’s feelings under the rug just so “the hero could get the girl.”
3. Do you sometimes self-insert? I wouldn’t define it as “self-insert”, more like I’m writing about Zuko’s trauma so I draw upon my own experiences. Or like, with the World will always welcome lovers, I poured all of my years of customer service experience into Katara’s interactions with Zuko.
4. What’s your crack ship? SUKITARA. Can you imagine the power? The absolute adorableness? The idea of Katara roasting her brother everytime he does something dumb like “No wonder Suki picked me over you” just makes me cackle with glee.
5. What ship would you make canon if you were the creator? Ok before I get into it, let me just say that honestly, only Sukka should have ended up together in canon. They are all KIDS and after everything they went through, they all need therapy before pursuing a romantic interest. Not to say you can’t fall in love and be in a healthy relationship while you’re still working on yourself BUT they weren’t there yet. I mean for crying out loud, Aang never unblocked his chakra. But I digress.
Zutara, duh, because they are just perfect for each other. Also, like 10+ years down the road, Taang because of balance and friends to lovers and basically all of Aang’s vision of Toph in the Swamp.

We are very excited to welcome our newest interview with the talented creative, podcaster, graphic designer Zu also known as BookofZu, @Ghetto004! We love everything about this feature and hope you enjoy it just as much as we do! ______________________________________________ 1) Tell us a little about yourself? My name is Zubair (pronounced zoo-bear) or Zu for short. I’ve said this before on the first episode of my podcast “Book of Zu” but during primary school, kids used to make the joke that I was a bear from the zoo because of my name. At that point, it used to bother me, but I was so young, so how could it not? Now, I use that to explain to people how my name is pronounced. But looking back at it, these times it was the kids that used to roll up to school in the morning with their mouths stained with wotsits (orange, cheesy crisps or chips, if you’re American). You come to school looking a mess, your mouth stained and stinking and you want to come and give me energy?? Tell your mama to brush your teeth and tongue; beloved. Your mouth smells like ass juice at 8 o’frickin-clock in the morning and you make teasing my name your first priority? Rotten mouts. But I’d be angry too if my mum hated me enough to not make me a proper breakfast, cereal is £1, beloved. I’m a Moroccan-Londoner, born and raised here in the U.K. The atmosphere is different in Morocco. I’m from Casablanca, which is a coastal city facing the Atlantic ocean. Casablanca means “white house” in Spanish because….colonialism but let’s not get into that before my wig flies off. Moroccans call it either “Casa” or “Dar L’bida” which also means “white house”. I’m also from Fes, which is an inner city, which means no beach, sadly but it makes up for that in rich history. A lot of my favourite childhood memories were made in Morocco, I’m one of 5 children, Allahumabarek. We used to drive to Morocco from London, in our seven seater, with enough stuff to give to a whole neighbourhood. You’re probably wondering “drive??? To Morocco??! From London??!”, absolutely. We’d either drive from London to Dover, get a ferry to Calais and drive from the north of France to the south into Spain, then after driving for almost 2 days, we’d arrive at Algeciras in Spain and get a ferry to Tangier, which is in northern Morocco. The other way we’d get there is, driving to Portsmouth from London and getting a 30-36 hour ferry to Bilbao in Spain and then followed by a 12 hour drive to the south and then getting a ferry into Morocco from Algeciras. I never used to appreciate the scenery as a child because I’d be fighting with my siblings telling them not to put their feet on my seat and then amidst all that fighting my mama would be screaming and then instruct my dad to pull-over, so she can get us TOGETHER and she did. Then she’d choose someone to sit in her seat, it was like being upgraded from where they store luggage in a plane to first class. If I got chosen, I’d give my siblings the devil stare and silently laugh, then they’d snitch and I’d put on my poker face. I’m petty like that, now stop being bitter and kickback into that cramped seat you’re in pretending to be luggage, whilst I stretch my legs in the front. But the last time we drove to Morocco was in 2015, this time just me and my dad. The scenery through France and Spain is breath-taking. Especially during sun rise, honey-golden amber rays of sunlight covering cascading mountains and rock formations. The air crisp, light and refreshing but pleasantly cool in temperature. But we have a big family Allahumabarek, so the car came in handy, we didn’t have to pay for taxi’s, coaches; nothing. But I’ll put a plug in this for now. 2) How would you describe your podcasts ? Good question. I don’t like to put myself in boxes but if I had to put my podcast in a category, I’d say culture and society. Culture and society is such an umbrella topic with endless sub-topics. If I had to describe it in three words, I’d say: unfiltered, eccentric and authentic. I feel like these days we lack genuine and sincere content, everybody wants to be a people-pleaser but truth be told, you can never please everyone. You left uni because your heart wasn’t in it? People will say you’re lazy and unambitious. You completed uni and got a good paying job that takes up a large portion of your time? People will say you think you’re too good for them and think you’re better than them. People are going to talk regardless, so you might as well do what you want. So when I record, I’m completely myself, how I talk in real life, is how I talk on my podcast. Whoever connects and resonates with my personality, amazing, whoever doesn’t…..moving on. I have more important things to worry about than dwelling on bitter b’s who don’t like me or my content. Important things like, whether I’d like 1 or 2 slices of toast for breakfast. I don’t think about it, don’t care about it, don’t worry about it. I have to be this way otherwise the smallest things would get to me and stop me from progressing. I’m not about to let someone’s dehydrated, ashy opinion lead me to become stagnant. If you follow me on twitter, you know I’ve been screaming “boss and level up, 2k18” with my chest. We’re elevating and uplifting ourselves and deserving others this year. Support your friends 2K18 and if you aren’t whole-heartedly supporting your friends genuinely, then I pity you, supporting and encouraging others doesn’t take anything away from you. But you’re so used to taking from people that the idea of giving back scares you because the only person you care and have ever cared about, is yourself. Now chew on THAT apple. Eat it up. You seem hungry. I’m all about supporting yourself but there’s a big difference between being unapologetically supportive of yourself and being selfish. Don’t, get it twisted. 3) What do you hope to teach others through your podcasts and what inspired you to start ? It always blows my mind when people message me or tell me that my podcast has taught them something or that my words impacted them, because I don’t feel like I’ve done enough for them to deserve that credit. I started my podcast because I felt there was a lack of genuine and authentic content in general. The things I say on my podcast are things I say in my everyday life, If you know me personally, you know I’m this way. I’m not pretending or changing myself so others can like me, because pretending to be someone you’re not is extremely mentally draining. I’m just me, the way I talk, my personality, it’s all me. So to me, all these things that I say are standard for me, it’s not going out of my way, it’s normal for me. The advice I give, is the advice I give to my friends, it’s not extraordinary to me. I just give people the advice that I would have appreciated getting when I was in those situations. What goes around, comes around and Allah SWT is the most fair and if you’re out here being fraudulent and giving people insincere, bare minimum advice, when you’re in that predicament, you’re going to have nobody to turn to. When someone reaches out to you, how you do them, is how you’ll be done. Standard. Don’t give out, what you wouldn’t appreciate receiving. I’m so humbled when people message me and talk to me about how my words have given them strength. That to me, is everything. I’m glad that people feel like they can get from me what they can’t get in the environment they’re in. The first mentions of me starting a podcast were suggested to me by two talented individuals. Hanine, aka @hanxine on twitter, she’s the founder of Nerdy POC, a writer among other creative crafts. She DM’d one day, I still remember, it was while ago and she told me that she thinks I should start a podcast because my personality would be a good fit for it. These times, I didn’t pay much attention to social media but I was so flattered because I was thinking “me?”. Then, Cari aka @cari_artist, a close friend of mine, she’s an amazing singer, her voice is so good it’s disrespectful. She told me, you should really make a podcast, your personality is so entertaining and infectious and again I was like “me?” LMAOO. Please, go and check out their pages on twitter and support!! But if you’ve been following me on twitter, you know that I’ve made threads on things people necessarily may not want to talk about, I say what I want, how I want and I’m not sorry about it. I also have had my curious cat open for ages because people reach out sometimes wanting advice on things and the fact it’s anonymous makes it easier for them. But all those posts get lost in a sea of tweets. So, I thought, I’m already speaking about these things, why don’t I immortalise these views and make them into something permanent that’s easily accessible. Then, Book of Zu was born. 4) Tips for anyone who’d like to start ? Creating podcast episodes or content in general is a commitment and takes dedication. I don’t think some people understand how much work goes into creating content and building a platform because all they see is the finished product but don’t see the struggle behind the scenes. If you’re going to do it, do it because you’re passionate and want to create quality content. Do it for you, nobody else. Don’t do it solely because people have told you “OMG! You totally should!! JSDKFKDJFKJ” because they’re not going to be doing it for you and that initial excitement is going to wear off. Motivating yourself to keep going isn’t easy because sometimes you’re so drained that you don’t want to do it but you push through because it’s something you’re truly passionate about. You don’t need to have fancy equipment in the beginning, I’m ballin’ on a budget and record my podcast on my iPhone. Make the best out of what you have. The hardest step, is the first. 5) What do you hope for in the future with your podcasts ? I hope that it continues to grow into something amazing and brings amazing opportunities Insha’Allah. I strongly believe that representation is so important, especially if you’re an ethnic minority and if you’re ethnic you know damn well we’re not represented out here. Even within ethnic minorities, all parts of the community aren’t represented in your home country’s mainstream media but that’s another story for another day. *sip* 6) Any podcasts that you are currently listening to? YETH! Podcasts made by small content creators? YETH PLEATHE!!! VANILLA SWIRL WITH COOKIE CRUNCH PLEATHE! - Inspyre Reads (@inspyre_ent) literary banter, the break down of books and discussions centred around them. Season 2, EP 1, they discussed Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone, they even had a segment where they did Harry Potter centred impressions. - Her Thought Crimes (@whytrustme), she articulates topics that are difficult to put into words so eloquently. EP 2, she discussed redefining success and how it means something different to everybody, and it makes you question what you’re currently using to measure your success. - I’m Afraid It’s Terminal (@serriusbleck), he discusses idea, concepts and theories that engage you and make you think. EP 15, he spoke about Venezuela and how their wealth lead to their demise. You know when you watch a crazy documentary and you want to discuss and really break it down with someone, that’s how I’d describe his podcast. - Abwaan Chronicles (@abwaanpodcast), in EP 14 , they discussed whether they have a duty to Somalia. It was interesting to hear in one group of people how different their opinions were. Being a ethnic minority, and coming from country that isn’t fully developed yet, sometimes you can be made to feel guilt about not doing enough for your country. So this episode definitely drew me in. __________________________________________ Follow his socials to stay upto date with him Twitter- @Ghetto004 Instagram- @Bookofzu ____________________________________________ Stay up-to date with more interviews and features and follow us on our Instagram and twitter! Honestly non-believers of Islam and I don't mean the ones who are positive or neutral ones towards the Muslims, I mean the negative ones, they'll be going around seeing all stuff like an eclipse happening or a new solar system event or something and go absolutely crazy over it but how about giving credit to the Creator of the creations that you are watching and being so flabbergasted over?
They see a new unbelievable design of a car or anything else and ask "Oh this is very cool, so who made it?" but when it comes to the universe and everything in it and not to mention all the other infinite number of unknown creations yet to be discovered, their responses will be of the minimum line of "Nah, this just happened, nobody made all of this/this other deity made this".
I mean it's dissapointment of another level when seeing these lost people, Allah SWT keep us on the straight path of attaining Him SWT forever in a beautiful way. Ameen Summa Aameen, SAAAW.

The Manifestation and Exuberance’s of Sultan Haq Bahoo in This Modern Age
The Mughals in India embellished and decorated as pioneers of architectural designs with glorious gardens of this Happy Hindustan and land of splendors, which even surpassed Greco- Roman Civilizations. The first illumination of Deen Al Islam was brought by Muhammad Bin Qasim, a young youthful General from Arabia, who taught an everlasting lesson to Hindu civilizational philosophy; Later on Deen Al Islam effective guidance reached through Iran to Afghanistan to India. There is a (tradition) mentioned by Prophet (SAW) a cool Breeze is coming to me from this lush green land of crops with abundant water, which means Quran Qareem Revelations and Seera. Sunna will progress for the welfare of Muslims in the Light of Deen Al Islam. This will satiate the misguided people form the thirst of human integrity and dignity through a perfect path. The glory was further brightened by the deep devotion of Islamic institutional ideologues (Mubellighen) who established the prevalence of Deen which became blessings for the misguided mankind. It is impossible to deny the role of the Hajweri, Moinuddin Chishti and Sultan Bahu (RTA), who were preponderant in their respective regions and made enormous contributions in converting non-believers (Hindus – Buddhist) to the straight path as revealed by Allah (SWT) in the Quran and Sunnah of Prophet (SAW). This is also an undeniable fact that Mughals further promoted the supremacy of the Quran.
Tumblr media
Sunnah through their regime with unforeseen interruption, but this fabric remained intact for more than two thousand years. These Mujahideen and their followers further erected Buildings, Mausoleums Madrassas, and schools with institutional propagation of the Quran of Allah (SWT) and Sharia of Prophet (SAW). This enlightenment was further consolidated in which “ Tauheed ” ( Oneness of Allah (SWT)  manifestation emerged in the light of Holy Prophet (SAW)). Quran Qareem clarified the Mission and Message to mankind in the following Revelation; -
(41:53) “Soon will We show them Our Signs in the furthest regions of the Earth and in their own Souls, until it becomes manifest to them, that this is the Truth, is it not enough that your Lord does witness all things”.
The remarkability of Deen extensive intensive spread from Arabia to the hearts and souls of the people was a constant miracle done by the companions (RTA) and their patriotic placement of spirit was further ingrained by the future generations of the Friends of Allah (SWT). These leaders in their respective lands proved to be the arbiters of the World fate and proved the universality of Deen Al Islam. The noble and heroic deeds of these companions resounded throughout this World. This can be stated as it makes no difference; whatever may be propounded or done, the Deen of Allah (SWT) Truth must prevail and He knows who cause an obstruction and who sacrifices to help.
British Bayonet promulgation brought so many conspiracies with constant contradictions which orchestrated the shrewd policies of imperialistic armies who made local populations as their beneficiaries with gold – silver awards rewards to change the entire structure and function of Islamic ideology. These unbelievers tried their utmost to debase Sharia system unsuccessfully, but they did change the peoples' intention by seducing them too materialistic gains. These hundreds of years’ struggle did not make Indians to be subjugated by colonialist powers, so there was a revolt which was the preface of Hindu- Muslims emancipation. The emergence of Pakistan was a clear cut proof of that “Dawa” work or reformation was in progress by many mass movements to get rid of shackles of Foreign forces. It was always the Masajids and Madrassas movements by calling “Azan:” for prayers, kept the everlasting shine of Deen Al Islam. The International movement for decolonization became imperative because imperialism was suffering heavy losses of life and limb.
The colonial age lost their possessions but the onslaught of western culture continued its work, in the form of westernized institutions of despotic democratic designs of civilian bureaucratic with feudal legislature supported by Judicial policies with law enforcement agencies. The brilliantly trained graduates from western universities imbibed with new concepts proved to be excellent representatives for our learning Institutions. They were heavily funded by Scholarships and Training Courses to mold the minds of our Intelligentsia in their socio-economic materialistic doctrines. The application of these indoctrinations worked so magically that the schematic results were very encouraging for both beneficiaries. The new crop of secular socialist scholars influenced the polluted politicians, who danced on the tunes of their Masters. Muslims suffered from Ideological crises and their validated values disturbed the fabric of Ummah‘s state-society systems.
Tumblr media
The real decline of Muslims communities happened when post modernization storming invasion was accepted and impression became a reality of modern age. The explosion of mass communications computer sciences in the form of internet, web site, control of space program which means the supremacy of air-sea and Earth as satellites to have internal information in depth of our dimensional perception. These novel revolutions made us indulge in slavish imitation of technological progress. The intermigration which improved the lives of our folks gave a significant edge to our hidden enemies. The change of life perceptions gave us sensations of establishing our priorities to prefer worldly ways and brought our “Deen” as a secondary priority if necessary. The insecurity developed to such an extent that the normal thought process gave immense importance for materialistic means to improve our world, while other domains have yet to be explored. It was unfortunate that lack of planning brought a financial crisis and injustices in socio-economic sectors and further funding by foreigners made us lose our self-respect and determination to find solutions to resolve our financial critical crunches. The modern age materialistic, capitalistic socialistic systems developed attractive webs to have a better life standard but at the cost of consumerism, commuting modes which made modern societies were individualistic to the level of selfishness while entering a stressful competition of a rat race. This Brave New World order alleges freedom of choices with limited human rights progressed into a global village. A doctrine of unified democratic designs to bring health, happiness, and progress to make life a dynamic identity in the ever-changing social environment. These drastic attractive changes not only convinced our convictions but completely captivated our souls and we became unicorns of this world, with least idea of “afterlife”.

North and South part 3 thoughts
My computer has locked up so I’m posting this on mobile, hence why there’s no read more. Sorry!
Obviously spoilers ahead
Alright so I’ve finally been able to read all of North and South part 3. I’ve seen most of it on Google Books glitches so I’ve had time to mull over the big moments, but I wanted to wait until I read the entire thing to review it.
So I’ll go ahead and say: I really, really liked North and South as a series. While it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind for the return to the SWT comics, I’m very pleased with how they handled it.
That being said, I have a few criticisms. I’ll go ahead and get those outta the way first. I will say real quick I was in he camp of really wanting to see Suki. :(
My biggest complaint is that the series felt way too packed. Too many characters and storylines going on. We had Katara struggling to accept the changes to her home, Malina and Hakoda’s relationship, Gilak and his team, Siku and Sura’s issues….just, yeah, a lot going on. And some potential storylines were brought up but then never really executed at all? At the end of part 2, we see a potential rift forming between Katara and Sokka about the oil refinery being built. And while they do touch on it slightly in part 3, they still didn’t really do much about it. I mean, the two were on good terms throughout the book but I think a little bit more conflict between them would’ve been interesting to see.
Another thing I reallllly wanted was a big Kataang talk or something. Part 1 really made it seem like they were setting up for that. Katara literally said that the situation going on in the SWT is exactly what Aang went through during The Rift, having to accept changes to a place that was sacred to the Air Nomads. Right after this she even tells Sokka that she wishes Aang was there, so I really thought Katara would confide in him how she’s feeling and he would support her like she’s always done for him.
Also, Maliq disappearing without a trace was…odd. I get he probably went back to the NWT but everyone just kinda forget he existed?
One really minor thing is that I think it would’ve been cool to see more of Katara and Sokka’s extended family and friends from back home. I really wasn’t expecting it at all cause it’s not important so I wasn’t too let down, just something I think would’ve been neat.
That’s about all my criticisms so let’s jump to the good stuff!
My favorite part I think was Katara saving Malina in the end, and how it related back to her talk with Hakoda in part 2. When Hakoda was telling her about love and how real love sacrifices and all that, I was kind of expecting Katara to be in a situation where she’d have to sacrifice something for Aang? BUT NO, EVEN BETTER! Obviously at the end of part 2, Katara was apprehensive about Malina and didn’t trust her, or her love for Hakoda, but then at the end of part 3 Malina sacrificed herself to save Hakoda! It was a really beautiful moment, Katara realizes immediately that Malina’s love for Hakoda is genuine and knows right at that moment she has to save her. (I mean, I like to think she would’ve saved her regardless, but, you know). I also really liked how, although it was subtle, Katara’s necklace gleamed. Later at Kya’s grave she tells her mother that when she saved Malina, she felt a courage that she had felt at a few other big moments in her life (fighting Azula, saving Aang after Azula shot him, and trying to save the moon spirit). Katara says that the courage is something Kya passed onto her. IT WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SCENE, GUYS. ( Also - I guess another thing they didn’t resolve is that Katara still has issues with the oil refinery. I still don’t really get why she’s so adamantly against it, but I’m assuming she comes to accept it later on).
Another major moment I loved was Sokka telling Katara that the home she’s longing for doesn’t exist anymore, and Katara later realizing that he’s right, because the home she wants is one that includes Kya. Really beautiful scenes, and that’s honestly not something I had realized either.
Some minor moments I liked:
-Katara and Aang waterbending for Siku and Sura
-Sokka and Zuko’s hug. All the bromance feels, man.
-Toph making a hand out of her meteor bracelet and slapping that guy in the face. That was golden.
-When Katara realized they took Hakoda Aang’s just like “HANG ON” and swoops her up and they literally fly outside, Katara doesn’t even hesitate and Aang drops her so she can take down Gilak. Also, the way she slammed her fit on the ground and created that ice pillar, that totally looked like an earthbending move! Super cool
-BOSCO MISSING KUEI D:
- “I used to be a bad guy. I know how bad guys think.”
-Aang kissing Katara on the cheek :’D
-Everyone eating together in the end! Zuko being afraid of Bosco, Sokka trying to steal Toph’s food, Katara feeding Aang. That’s some good stuff right there.
So yeah I guess those are all my thoughts. As a whole, I really, really liked this series. This and Smoke & Shadow are definitely the best of the ATLA comics we’ve gotten. Not only are the writing and plot awesome, the art is BEAUTIFUL. I love Gurihiru’s style, how it’s very close to the original style of the show but like, still having Gurihiru’s style thrown in there. The designs look very fresh and modern!
As for what I’d like to see next for the ATLA comics, I’d love to see the Gaang in their late teens/early twenties and Republic City coming together.

Battle of The Twins Redux: A 310-pound BMW race bike
In the lore of motorcycle racing, Battle of The Twins has few equals. First staged in the US at Daytona in 1981, the 50-mile series has spawned many epic duels—and spurred the development of the legendary Britten V1000.
The ripples from those thunderous early races are still felt today, as evidenced by this incredible BMW racer that just washed up into our inbox.
It comes from classic race bike aficionado Scott Kolb, who’s based an hour and a half north of New York City.
Scott had a theory: “An air cooled BMW engine in a sweet chassis, with the right rider, just might beat up on modern sportbikes at local track days.” He set out to build a 310-pound [140 kg], 82 horsepower track bike.
Influenced by the writings of Tony Foale and the race bikes of Chris Hodgson, Scott decided to build a homage to the great Daytona BoTT racers. So he pulled the engine from his 1976 R90/6 road bike and put the rest of the machine on eBay to help pay for parts.
Fortunately, he had a client with the same vision. And like Scott, the client works in the high-end architectural field, and he is a hands-off kinda guy.
“We’ve both seen enough clients ruin great design by diluting the original vision,” says Scott. “The best projects come from a consistent and pure design idea.”
“To that end, he offered no commentary—not even about color. But he did say ‘The bike needs to fit me,’ and left it at that. He’s 6′ 4″ and 240 pounds, [109 kg] so I made a bike to measure.”
Like a good suit, this BMW fits him to a tee. For starters, both the wheelbase and the ergonomic triangle—pegs to bars to seat—are 5% bigger than the average production bike.
This is second nature for Scott, because the many chassis he has built over the last 20 years have a strict focus on function—while being mindful of the need for visual flow.
Scott knew that the target weight figure would require carbon wheels from Rotobox and Öhlins R&T suspension front and back. The carbon wheel is only available for the BMW R nineT, which prompted Scott to use other R nineT parts like the rearsets, levers, blinkers, mirrors, and a license plate carrier from Rizoma.
“Rizoma uses surface machining on many of their parts, which shows in the machining flowlines left behind by the ball mill cutter. I love this look: it adds a little texture for a good feel under your glove, plays with light, and most importantly shows the thought process of the CNC programmer—giving the parts a human touch.”
The engine has all the classic go-fast bits offered in the mid 80s by Chris Hodgson’s CC Products outfit (which has now morphed into San Jose BMW). The heads are dual-plugged, with larger valves and porting and flowing. There’s a lightened and balanced flywheel, a performance clutch, and a crank dynamically balanced by Falicon. Displacement has been bumped up to 1000 cc using the well-known Siebenrock big bore kit.
“A 200-section rear tire was completely unnecessary, but I couldn’t resist!” says Scott. This required a one off swingarm with extra offset, and a lot of machining to get the R nineT rear drive to mate up to an airhead transmission. The Brembo calipers are from a BMW S1000R, matched to Brembo master cylinders, and the clutch is a hydraulic setup from SWT-Sports in Germany.
The 4130 chromoly tube chassis is based on the famous ‘Team Incomplete Boxer’ owned by photographer Gregor Halenda, but goes one better.
It includes a similar motor mount that attaches to the top of the engine block, and eliminates the cradle downtubes. “This visually frees up the wonderful cast block that we all love,” says Scott, “but the real benefit is quicker lap times.”
The powder-coated tubing is a thing of beauty, and the ‘one better’ part is a rear billet mounting block to eliminate the tubes reaching to the bottom rear of the engine block. “While we were at it, we realized we could isolate the forces of the rear swingarm from the front end by making the swingarm pivot in its own subframe.”
The bodywork was styled in-house. “It’s simple shapes, found by laying lines over photos of the rolling chassis,” says Scott. “The actual shapes were formed by sculpting foam, and then molds were made.”
The fairing and seat unit were were laid up in carbon fiber, with the outer layer being a 3oz twill weave. (“I like how the asymmetrical weave gets the compound curves to really pop.”) The tank was hammered out of .062 aluminum, and is finished with a Rizoma fuel cap.
The technology may be modern, but the body finishes have a hint of retro style. “I love 70s graphic design,” says Scott. “Primary color schemes were everywhere when I was a kid, and seem to influence my company’s aesthetic choices.”
“A pure cyan is used on my company logo, and always seems to make it into our race bikes. Throw in the Öhlins gold and Rizoma’s red accents, and you have a bike ready for the full primary color treatment—which lead to the red stripe down the center of the body, splitting the carbon and aluminum.”
The electronics are ultra modern, with a Motogadget m.unit control box at the center, taking signals from discreet m.buttons and a keyless ignition system. “The keyless receiver is hidden in the carbon fiber seat unit, along with all of the electronics,” Scott reveals. There’s a new ignition module too, from Euro MotoElectrics.
The BMW hits the 310-pound, 82 horsepower target, and Scott has finished it just in time to ship it to the One Moto Show at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon, which opens on February 7.
Once he gets the bike back, it’ll be fettled and tuned for the track, and ready for informal battles with more modern sportbikes. It’ll be intriguing to see how it fares.
In the meantime, enjoy these images by Gregor Halenda, who has become a friend of Scott’s since the days of the Team Incomplete BMW build.

How to Copy Text from Image : Now 5 Methods
Tumblr media
How to Copy Text from Image : You can copy text from this page but you can't Copy Text from Image / Picture. You can try to Copy Text from Image given below, The method double-click on that word/Image and press ctrl+c key from the keyboard but It doesn't work when you try to copy text from Image. Because in the picture, texts are converted to part of that image so texts and images are mixed with each other. They can't be extracted directly and easily. But with the help of some very good and smart apps and software it can be done These methods is based on "Optical Character Recognition (OCR), OCR is a process that recognizes text shown in pictures. This offers a convenient way to capture useful and important information that you would otherwise have to manually retype (for example, text on a business card or on a printed purchase receipt). Read more about OCR at Wikipedia Optical character recognition (optical character reader, OCR) is the mechanical or electronic conversion of images of typed, handwritten or printed text into machine-encoded text, whether from a scanned document, a photo of a document, a scene-photo (for example the text on signs and billboards in a landscape photo) or from subtitle text superimposed on an image (for example from a television broadcast). It is widely used as a form of data entry from printed paper data records, whether passport documents, invoices, bank statements, computerised receipts, business cards, mail, printouts of static-data, or any suitable documentation. It is a common method of digitising printed texts so that they can be electronically edited, searched, stored more compactly, displayed on-line, and used in machine processes such as cognitive computing, machine translation, (extracted) text-to-speech, key data and text mining. OCR is a field of research in pattern recognition, artificial intelligence and computer vision.so today in the post i am going to explain three methods to copy text from image.
Tumblr media
Suitable pictures for text recognition include photos you’ve taken with a cell phone or other type of camera, screenshots you’ve taken on your Mac, and images you’ve scanned with a flatbed or portable scanner. So today in this post I will explain All methods to Copy text From Image or All methods to Extract Text from Image. Updated on 27 the June 2018: One More method added !!  Check the first one,
1. How to Copy Text from Image using Google Drive and Docs
This is the Easiest and quickest method I have ever found to copy text from Image. You just have to upload your file to the google drive and then you have to open that file on google docs. all the text will be converted to the text, just below the image. Convert an image file into text using Google Docs On your computer, go to drive.google.com. Upload the image. Right-click on the uploaded image file. Click Open with
Tumblr media
Google Docs. The image file will be converted to a Google Doc, but some formatting might not transfer: Bold, italics, font size, font type, and line breaks are most likely to be retained. Lists, tables, columns, footnotes, and endnotes are likely not be detected.
2. Copy Text from Image Using OneNote
OneNote supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR) thus OneNote can extract the text it so you can paste it elsewhere in your notes (or into another app),Do the following: Scan or snap a picture of the text you want to capture. Insert or paste the picture on any page in OneNote. Control-click the picture, and then click Copy Text from Picture. In your notes (or in any other app), place the cursor where you want to paste the copied text, and then press Command-V.
3. Copy Text from Image Using online Free OCR Tool
Tumblr media
If you don't have OneNote, you can use the Online tool Free OCR. Free OCR is a software that allows you to convert scanned PDF into text or convert images into text or word, Text, Excel output formats. To Convert you need simply to upload your image or PDF file and click on "Convert and Download" button, you will be able in a few seconds to download the converted Text file by clicking on "Download" button. Visit the Web Tool Here: Free OCRImportant: All uploaded files are automatically deleted just after the conversion process. 4. Copy Text from Image using Google Chrome Extension
Tumblr media
Project Naptha is a browser extension software for Google Chrome that allows users to highlight, copy, edit and translate text from within images. It was created by developer Kevin Kwok, and released on April 2014 as a Chrome add-on. This software was first made available only on Google Chrome, downloadable from the Chrome Web Store. By adopting several Optical Character Recognition (OCR) algorithms, including libraries developed by Microsoft Research and Google, the text is automatically identified in images. The OCR enables the build-up of a model of text regions, words and letters from all images. The OCR technology that Project Naptha adopts is a slightly differentiated technology in comparison to the technology used by software such as Google Drive and Microsoft OneNote to facilitate and analyze text within images. Project Naptha also makes use of a method called Stroke Width Transform (SWT), developed by Microsoft Research in 2008 as a form of text detection. After Adding Extension in Chrome and selecting the image You can watch as moving your cursor over a block of words changes it into the little I-beam. You can drag over a few lines and watch as a semitransparent blue box highlights the text, helping you keep track of where you are and what you’re reading. Hit Ctrl+C to copy the text, where you can paste it into a search bar, a Word document, an email or a chat window. Right-click and you can erase the words from an image, edit the words, or even translate it into a different language. Project Naptha - Chrome Web Store - Google
5. Copy Text from Image in Android using Text Fairy App
if you are having and Android Smartphone or tablet and you want to copy text from Image then you have to download a free app "Text Fairy(OCR text scanner)".This app is very handy and tiny you just have to take the picture or select any stored file and it will scan that picture and after scanning will be completed you can copy text from Image and paste anywhere in notes or another app.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
The real decline of Muslims communities happened when postmodernization storming invasion was accepted and impression became a reality of modern age.
