Ringo Starr Suspends Summer Tour after Edgar Winter, Steve Lukather Contract COVID-19

- “Well we tried, things happen,” Starr says

Ringo Starr suspended his summer tour after All Starrs Edgar Winter and Steve Lukather contracted COVID-19.

The band played one show without Winter before Lukather, too, tested positive, forcing Starr to postpone the trek - originally scheduled for 2020 - until fall.

“Well, we tried, things happen,” Starr said. “I send you all peace and love and thank you to all the people who came to the shows. Peace and love, everybody.”

Starr, Winter, Lukather, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart were less than halfway through the 22-concert tour when COVID hit. They will add make-up dates to their schedule in September.

“We are so sorry to let the fans down,” the All Starrs said in a statement.

“It’s been wonderful to be back out on the road and we have been having such a great time playing for you all. But as we all know, COVID is still here and despite being careful, these things happen.”
