Levi awakes. They don’t sleep — their nights and days swallow each other unbroken — but they awake, still. Something’s different. A terrible sun lights the pod in patches, the scrap metal chrysalis that Azi made her home. She’s asleep there, a warm heap in Levi’s sensors, with her dull breath and snarled nerves and humming arteries. Maybe, Levi thinks as they watch the pod, to live is to trudge through ceaseless awakenings.

A stranded robot comes alive and muses about what it means.

my brain comes up with ships sometimes that are just like. What on Earth are you talking about. Like Ramona Flowers x Azi Nareen, which mostly came from watching those shows back to back.

Some are like Nemona x Eri (both from Pokemon SV), two characters who never interacted but certainly could feasibly find and like each other. That's not too bad.

Then some are like Vi from Arcane x Mizu from Blue Eye Samurai, or Perrin from Pokemon x Mizu from Blue Eye Samurai, just utterly random cross ships that barely make sense but I can totally visualize.

If anything, trying to make a post out of this is making me realize I just ship my fictional crushes with my other fictional crushes. How about Princess Daisy x the nurse from Pokemon SV. Or Abigail from Stardew Valley x Scorpia from SPOP.

There are no rules and that's super cool.

Thinks about the fact that Levi didn't even consider obeying Ursula when she made requests. They had no compulsion to obey her. So them going back to Azi wasn't feeling like they had to because they were a robot. It was "I had to" because they had to make sure she was okay. They had to make sure she wasn't hurt. one time I took a ballroom dance class and spent the whole time hoping for a chance to dance with this very competent graceful butch leader. there followed 3 months where every single day that they showed up, *I* would be assigned to the leader half too - and thus I never paired with them once in the class. until the very last day, when they tried follower for shits & giggles, and we got shuffled together first thing. they back-led me for the whole song. it was great.
