now that we've all established none of us remembered that backbiter could open portals (including rick apparently cause he never used it again after tlt) can i just ask

how are they gonna justify the whole fourth book? why would luke need the labyrinth?

maybe i'm missing something obvious like "the fleece would never allow him passage" or something like that, but if he can open portals by the mere slash of his sword, why would he need the labyrinth?

also, given that this power/feature is never mentioned nor used again, we never got the portal-opening "rules", meaning we do not know how that whole thing works, so the writers can literally do anything, right?

How delightful it is that both Luke and Nico have a sword that can harm both mortals and non-mortals.

Idk but when it comes to the the others - Percy, Jason, Reyna, Hazel,… all of them - I think of strong, powerful, great and grand, glorious (in Reyna’s and Jason’s case), heroic, etc…

While I could mention the Horrorcons who fought in the Universe War—Leatherhide, Blackarachnia, Nightprowler and Waspinator—I assume you are speaking specifically of the triple-changing Headmaster Horrorcons binary-bonded with Nebulans. Though, now that I mention it, I did once hear of a Leatherhide who bonded himself to… ah, my apologies, I'm getting off-track.

I believe that in at least one universe, the Decepticon forces under Scorponok did indeed include a third Horrorcon by the name of Backbiter. Like her fellows, Backbiter was a powerhouse among the Headmasters; she transformed into both a Cybertronian "flying wing" stealth bomber and an enormous, heavily armored snapping turtle. Though not as fast as some Transformers, the difficulty of detecting her jet mode allowed her to get in close to her Autobot enemies before converting into turtle form, becoming a nigh-invulnerable mobile bastion; in robot mode, meanwhile, she wielded a Psyche-Out Blaster that disrupted the brain modules of enemy Transformers to cause vivid hallucinations—something that proved useful if she ever needed to retreat from a fight.

While outwardly the least unpleasant of the three Horrorcons to be around, Backbiter was in truth a cruel and spite-driven individual who—as her name suggests—would feign politeness to others' faces while spreading vicious rumors and mockery behind their backs, taking a perverse pleasure in breaking other Decepticons' spirits while masquerading as their friend. Perhaps her only ally that she didn't treat this way was her Headmaster partner Gemba, a scheming Nebulan socialite desperate for prestige and fame, who was more than happy to ride Backbiter's coattails to a position of power.

One notable adventure saw the Horrorcons lay an ambush for the Autobot Headmasters, Backbiter using her Psyche-Out Blaster to trap them in nightmarish visions. It was only thanks to their Nebulan partners being resistant to the effects that the Autobots were able to escape and defeat the Horrorcons—that, and Hardhead's legendary stubbornness, which helped him to push through! Backbiter and the others were forced to flee, swearing revenge against the Autobots and their Headmaster partners.

Backbiter

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fitting name of the sword Backbiter with regard to its owner? I am reminded of, “The Wand Chooses The Wizard” except with a PJO touch, so it’s like, “The Sword Chooses The Wielder.” I am a Riptide gurl though and though because hey it is practically impossible to misplace it, and let’s not forget how handy of a pen in was in House of Hades! But in another world, I would totally consider Backbiter because THAT SWORD CAN OPEN FRIGGING PORTALS! Not to mention that it can hurt both mortals AND monsters so can you really argue with how it’s not useful in taking just a slight nick at that annoying jerk we have in every classroom? The advantage is that said jerk cannot even see that it’s a sword, and if he cries out loud he would be deemed as the daisy with the petal princess skin so it’s a total win-win to us! I am telling you, ideally, what we need is a Riptide with Backbiter’s add-ons. Because, there is no other way but to go all out when it comes ice creams toppings and swords’ extra effects!

I have read through every single book in the Percy Jackson series all the way through Heroes of Olympus, only to find out now, at age 21, that I apparently cannot freakin read. I really looked at the name of Luke Castellan’s sword in the books that clearly stated ‘back biter’ and my brain read ‘black bitter’. I’ve had the name wrong for over ten years. It’s literally it’s own little pun because “it shall indeed bite back.”

মুসলিমদের গীবত ও তাদের মান-ইজ্জতে অহেতুক নাক গলানো এখন একটি জনপ্রিয় বিষয়ে পরিণত হয়েছে। অথচ গীবত করতে আল্লাহ তা‘আলা কঠোরভাবে নিষেধ করেছেন। মানুষ যাতে গীবতকে ঘৃণা করে এবং তাতে নিরুৎসাহ হয় সেজন্য আল্লাহ তা‘আলা প্রত্যাদেশ করেছেন। তিনি বলেছেন,

“তোমরা একে অপরের যেন গীবত না কর। তোমাদের কেউ কি স্বীয় মৃত ভাইয়ের মাংস ভক্ষণ পছন্দ করে? অনন্তর তোমরা তা অপছন্দ কর”। [সূরা আল-হুজুরাত, আয়াত: ১২]

গীবত শব্দটির আভিধানিক অর্থ হচ্ছে পরচর্চা করা, পরনিন্দা করা, কুৎসা রটনা করা, পিছে সমালোচনা করা ইত্যাদি। গীবত ঈমান ও আমল ধ্বংস করে দেয়ঃ গীবতের পারিভাষিক অর্থে বলা হয় ‘তোমার কোনো ভাইয়ের পেছনে তার এমন দোষের কথা উল্লেখ করা যা সে গোপন রেখেছে অথবা যার উল্লেখ সে অপছন্দ করে।’ (মু’জামুল ওয়াসিত) গীবতের সবচেয়ে উত্তম ও বাস্তবসম্মত সংজ্ঞা দিয়েছেন রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম যা নিম্মোক্ত হাদিস থেকে পেতে পারি।

আবু হুরায়রা (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিত একটি হাদীসে দেখা যায় তিনি বলেন, একদা এক ব্যক্তি জিজ্ঞেস করে, ইয়া রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম গীবত কী? তিনি বলেন, তোমার ভাই সম্মর্কে তার অনুপস্থিতিতে এমন কিছু বলা যা শুনলে সে ব্যথিত হয়। তখন বলা হলো, আমি যে কথা বলি, তা যদি তার মধ্যে থাকে তাহলেও কি গীবত হবে? নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম বললেন : তুমি যা বলেছ তা যদি তার মধ্যে থাকে, তুমি তার গীবত করলে; আর সে দোষ যদি তার মধ্যে না থাকে তবে তো তুমি তার ওপর বুহতান বা মিথ্যা দোষারোপ করলে, যা গীবত থেকে অধিক দোষনীয়।[মুসলিম/৬৩৫৭-আবূ হুরাইরা (রাঃ), বুখারী/৫৬১৩, আবূ দাঊদ/১৭৯৯]
