Can I have a snippet about a morally grey Hero taking advantage of yandere Villain’s jealousy and violent tendencies? Hero knows Villain kills people Hero gets too close to, so they start flirting with other villains that they want stopped or villains that they just plain don’t like.
“You look tired,” the hero said. Usually, they would have the curtesy to ring the bell and not enter through the window. However, they hadn’t had time to change into their normal clothes which left the window as the best option.
They weren’t too thrilled to explain to the villain’s neighbours why they were dressed up like a superhero. Especially not to the old lady above them.
“I...” The villain looked at them, pupils blown up. They looked quite innocent like this and the hero supposed they rather made that impression on everyone in their life. The villain was clever, was quiet when they had to be, was assertive when it was demanded of them, was seductive when they forced themselves to be. Sometimes the villain’s ability to adapt scared the hero. What if the hero was too boring for them one day?
Would they get rid of them?
Although that seemed unlikely, the hero had seen the villain’s deepest secrets and they had learnt about their most vulnerable parts. If this was a long-term thing (and the hero wanted that, not only for the violent benefits but also for the ego boost), they couldn’t allow themselves to slip up.
Then again, the villain was efficient when it came to murder but they also had the tendency to lose all their power when it came to the hero.
They were like a puppy.
“Hm?” The hero raked their fingers through the villain’s messy hair. It wasn't exactly love what they wanted. So what?
Didn’t they deserve a little compensation for all the pain they had lived through? Losing people was part of the job and if the hero could have someone who wanted them, who could protect themselves, who really cared about them, even if the hero didn't have the same feelings for them? Who could blame them for continuing this? Who could blame them for wanting to be loved?
“Sorry, I’m very tired,” the villain said. They closed their eyes and took in a deep breath.
“Hard day?”
“Yeah.” Obviously. The villain had murdered one of the most powerful villains in the entire country a few hours ago and it hadn’t been a quick fight. The hero would know. They had watched carefully.
They doubted the villain knew any of that.
“Got into an argument again, did you?”
No one had found the body yet.
“Yeah, you could say that,” the villain said. The hero smiled gently as their grip grew stronger in the villain's hair. Slowly, the hero scrutinised the villain, noticing bandages and bandaids on their body. Not saying a word, they let go of the villain and walked over to their fridge.
For a moment, the hero had thought the villain wouldn’t make it. The fight had been brutal and bloody and anything but easy. But even if the villain had died, the hero could’ve killed the other villain easily.
It would have been a devastating loss, obviously. The villain had already killed ten of their own kind and their work was incredible.
“How was your day?” the villain asked, despite being in incredible pain. It was adorable how they thought the hero wouldn’t notice.
“Oh, it was alright. Arresting some bad guys, doing an interview, stuff like that.” They closed the fridge, disappointed.
“Being a superhero must be hard.”
“You have no idea,” the hero mumbled, still eager to find something to eat in the kitchen. It was a mess and the hero was truly not impressed.
“...I’ve been thinking about us,” the villain said quietly. “Today was...difficult and I just want you to know that you mean a lot to me. All I do is for you and—”
“We agreed on friends with benefits,” the hero interrupted. “I told you my secret because I trust you, because I care about you, too. You know I cannot have relationships that are more than that.”
The hero looked at them sharply, as if to scold them and apparently, the villain understood. They wanted to say something but did not.
“That being said, there’s a new villain I got assigned to. I don’t know, they’re kind of funny.”
“Oh, really? How funny?”
The villain didn’t learn, they always took the bait.

Currently craving Dark!Neville content really bad.
Because honestly everyone was a terrible friend to him.
What if Neville, ostracized by his own house, belittled and disrespected by his family, teachers, peers, and so-called friends until he became a child soldier, finally broke? Just let his emotions take over? Stood up for just himself, not others? Was self-serving for at least a while?
What if Nev was the one who got to the diary after Ginny, not Harry? The second possible Boy Who Lived? His parents also defied the Dark Lord, he was born at the correct time, he was also marked by the Dark Lord as a possibility, just the Potter family was chosen on a whim. What if he met Tom Riddle and saw their similarities too?
Even if we don’t have him interact with Tom, he still has so many reasons to go grey/dark. He has so much evidence of being mistreated by those who were placed in his orbit to help him or teach him but instead were unimpressed and then harmful to him.
The quiet ones are always the scariest. Especially the quiet ones who have a wealth of knowledge that no one else takes any interest in. The ones with a specialty. Let alone a specialty, a motive, and access to power.
What if Heir Longbottom took up his station and showed himself to be gray or dark, not a meek, light wizard like everyone labeled him as?
I don’t think he’d subscribe to blood purity but demanding respect and repayment for the harm others caused him? Viewing magic as inherently wild and natural versus something with inherent human morals? Finding new and more complex, sinister ways to poison someone, due to his knowledge of botany and how to disguise one plant’s effects as something entirely different to make the antidote just that much harder to find?
Severus would love this kid if he took private potions tutoring focused on lethal applications of ingredients. Or even if he learned under Slughorn and then Snape found his inventions later on? They make amends and we have another powerhouse that clings to the shadows and conceals their power and intentions?

🗡️Protective prompts:
She’s mine.
Mind your tone when you speak to my wife.
You speak like that to my wife ever again and you’ll find my knife somewhere uncomfortable.
She’s my wife. Fuck off.
Who were you talking to?
Back off. Now.
Mind your tone.
What did he say to you?
Do you want me to kill him?
She’s with me.
Do you mind if I sit here? No? Wonderful.
I won’t apologize for killing someone who hurt you, dear.
You really thought I wouldn’t notice how he was staring at you the whole night?
I’ll have his head for that.
If you ever even look at her in the wrong way, I’ll end you.
Do you want me to torture him, darlin’?
Mind your words.
Watch your step.
Who was that?
What did he want from you?
Can I kill him?
What were you doing with her?
Do you want to get yourself killed?!
She’s my wife, you moron.
If he lays one single finger on you…
I can’t promise you I won’t kill him, darlin’.
I’ll kill anyone who harms you.
I’ll kill him.
You’ve been where?!
Who were you with?
If you come near her ever again, I’ll end you, understood?

Hero was betrayed and sold to Villain by their ex "Heroes" team.
(Cw: Guns, chains, mentioned interrogation, betrayal, morally gray hero)
---------------------
Villain interrogates Hero, but they keep their defiant, arrogant attitiude. At some point Villain threatens to return them. And even calls Hero's ex Leader to be more convincing.
Villain puts the phone call on speaker. And after a moment there's responce: "A return?...do you have the receipt?"
(V:) "A rec- Why would I have-! This is ridiculous!"
(L:) "Sorry, no returns then"
(V:) "Well what am I supposed to do with them?! They're fucking annoying, but I'm not killing them yet! That's no fun!"
(L:) "Not my circus, not my monkey"
The call gets cut. And Villain just stands there for a moment with a phone in their hand. Then, slowly takes the remote out of the pocket. Pushes the button. Releases Hero from the chains.
(V:) "Go kick their ass".
(H:) "I'll need a gun"
Villain just snorts laughing.
(H:) "...a rifle"
Villain just shakes their head, holding back a miscivious smile.
(H:) "A bazooka"
(V:) "I can agree for Bazooka. Just because I'm curious"

Whumptember day 3
“This can’t be it” Betrayal | Left to die | Running away
Content warning: implied suicide mission
“You can’t be serious. This can't be it,” Ex-Villain sat in Superhero’s office, a disbelieving look on their face. It’d been almost a year since their reform, and while Superhero had rarely spoken to the former villain, they had been keeping a close eye on their progress. They’d been doing well, and despite everything, Superhero was happy for them.
Looking at them, something ached in Superhero’s heart. They refused to avert their gaze. “I am. We need you, because nobody else can do this. Supervillain’s attack on the city will be devastating, and your’s are the only powers capable of redirecting it. If you don’t, thousands will die.”
“And if I do, I’ll die,” Ex-villain’s responded bluntly. “You know my powerset; I can’t just redirect attacks without taking some damage. With how powerful Supervillain is, the best I could do would kill us both. You know that. I can’t believe you'd–" they started, only to stop themself with a shaky exhale. "Why are you asking me to do this? I might’ve changed sides, but I’m not willing to die for this city.”
“I know,” and Superhero did know, and they’d planned for it. Slowly, Superhero reached for a framed photo on their desk, flipping it around and pushing it towards Ex-Villain. The photo was filled with smiling faces, with Ex-villain’s in the middle of them all. “But you’d die for them, wouldn’t you? For Caretaker, for Hero and Youngest?”
Ex-villain froze at the question, eyes locked on the photo instantly. Though they didn’t speak, Superhero already knew the answer. They’d watched Ex-villain become close with the team, going from hesitant allies to close friends over the span of a year. Ex-villain had grown enough to truly care for others, and they’d truly come to care for their team. Superhero had truly been happy to see that growth.
They were abusing it now. Superhero knew that, but they also knew they couldn’t stop.
Superhero continued. “They’re all scattered throughout the city on their own undercover missions. You won’t be able to contact them, and you won’t be able to find them all and escape in time. You cannot save them all without doing this.”
For a long moment, they didn’t lift their eyes from the picture, watching the smiling faces staring back at them. Their voice was barely a whisper. "…So, was this your plan? Is this why you all gave me a chance, all to stop Supervillain?"
"Ex-villain, I–"
"Was that it?!" They stood, their chair pushed aside. Their face was contorted into an ugly scowl, eyes bright with anger and tears. "Was everything just a means to an end?! All of this– saying I could change, how I could be better and–”, Ex-villain’s shouting was cut off by a raspy inhale, and their shoulders shook with a watery chuckle, “-and that there were people that gave a shit about me! And it was all just for this?!”
“I’m sorry," it was all Superhero could say.
“You're sorry! As if that means anything!”
"I'm sorry,” There was something sincere in Superhero’s tone, and it was enough to silence Ex-villain for a moment. “You’re right. I manipulated you, pushed for your reform with the sole purpose of this mission. It was for the city, but that doesn’t justify what I did,” Their eyes met with Ex-villain’s. “But I’m the only one who was involved. I may have pushed for your reform, but the others accepted you of their own volition. Any relationships you’ve formed with the others, any moments of friendship or closeness, were real. All of it. And they will die with the rest of the city if you don't stop Supervillain.”
The room fell silent. Ex-villain stared forward, anger and betrayal playing across their face. Superhero didn’t dare more as Ex-villain crumpled back into their chair, head in their hands. They sat for minutes, waiting for the moment Ex-villain realized what Superhero already knew: Ex-villain wouldn’t allow their newfound family to die.
When Ex-villain finally lifted their gaze, something in their eyes had dulled. “I hate you,” they hissed out, voice shaking with anger.
But they didn't leave. They listened quietly as Superhero discussed their plan.

Teacups
It took the old sidekick showing up at their door for the hero to finally open it wide enough, wide enough to invite another person into their secluded home, wide enough to pour tea, wide enough to sit down, and wide enough to talk.
Only after the wide enoughs and the formalities did the sidekick begin to beg.
“Please.” A simple word which held so much weight. “Please, Hero. We need you…I need you.”
“Don’t do this.” The hero responded simply. “I’m happy for this to be a social visit, but anything past that, and I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”
“So you’re giving up?”
The hero’s teacup slammed down, tea sloshing over the sides in reckless waves.
“I’m not going to entertain these agency fed questions. What list did they give you?”
The sidekick felt the paper crumple in their pocket when they shifted on the couch, halfway wondering how the hero knew, halfway wondering if they needed to go off script.
“They’re rampaging, Villain, I mean. No one can match them these days, we’re exhausting our resources.”
The hero listened to their former friend ramble while they stood, picking up the tea tray.
“We need you back. They need you back. There was always something there, right? If anyone can stop them–” They had followed the hero into the kitchen. “If anyone can stop them, it’s you.”
“You know where the door is.” The hero said after a moment of silence, beginning to rinse cold tea from unused cups. “I suggest you make use of that knowledge.”
“You aren’t listening.” The sidekick placed a hand on the hero’s shoulder. “If you could just–Mmph!”
They found themselves pinned to the wall, the hero’s hand over their mouth.
“I’ve listened. I’ve listened for the past year. These complaints and this whining. I’m tired, my contract is up. The villain can do what they want, I’m done.”
When the sidekick left, teary eyed and a cold feeling in their stomach, the villain came downstairs.
“You mean that? I can do what I want?”
“Within reason, darling. I already gave you too much space.”
The villain nudged the hero, taking their position at the sink.
“Let me.” They said, beginning to wash the tea set that the hero hadn’t finished. “I don’t like when they keep pestering you, considering how much you went through.”
The hero snorted. “Yeah, that was the fourth attempt? Fifth?”
“Seventh.” The villain corrected with a harsh sense of finality. “Seventh and the last, I’ll ensure it.”
“Hey, come on, don’t be like that. I know it’s rough, but it’s not forever. They sent my sidekick, so that’s probably the end of it.”
“God,” They sighed. “You really are too forgiving. I would end the agency if you asked. How many years were you there? A child, Hero, you were a child!”
“And the last one that they took. They don’t do it anymore.”
The villain only huffed, scrubbing and scrubbing until the cup shattered. “Sorry.” They muttered.
“Don’t be. I broke fourteen last month.”
“This is my tenth. I’m catching up to you.”
The hero laughed, a sound the villain loved so dearly, a sound that went missing when some agency idiot showed up.
“The bank on ninth has been skimming money off the top. It’d be good stress relief, only if you’re alright with it.”
The hero kissed the villain.
“Take ‘em down. And when you get back, we can install an electric gate around the front garden.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”

Heroes Don't Have Hearts (Prompt #13)
That was the first lesson, taught on the very first day of training. Hearts - feelings, emotions - bring weakness. You don't need a heart to do your job. You don't need a heart to smile for the cameras and crowds.
And you most certainly don't need one to help you sympathize with the enemy.
Superhero had defected - to the Villains' side, no less. Not because of love or some misplaced familial loyalty, but because they had sympathy. They felt bad for the other side, and when the agency wouldn't listen to their ludicrous ideas, they left.
They left a dent in the mold that had been built around them. The agency's most prized possession - gone overnight. They left a new generation of heroes on unsteady footing, lost without the guidance of their most experienced predecessor.
Hero hated Superhero. They hated them for the rules and guidelines implemented after they deserted. Before, heroism was a revered career path. Heroes could be as loved as the love they gave to their people. Those who quit their jobs were few and far between, but defectors were present in any organization. There would always be outliers.
But Superhero's disappearance was more than a simple retirement. They'd created a world of cracked smiles and false proclamations of loyalty. They'd created advanced safety measures and restricting patrol hours. They'd created a system where everyone watches your back, and the feeling was more uneasy than reassuring.
Superhero left. And Hero despised them for it.

“You’re evil!” Villain screamed.
“Am I?” Hero smiled, dragging her finger along the bar of Villain’s cell. “I believe it’s rather nice of me to keep you alive now that I don’t need you anymore…”
Her smile had no emotion behind it. No pain, no anger—not even happiness.
Truthfully, Hero had never felt much emotion. She only felt a diluted feeling of sadness or any of the many emotions she’d heard of—but they never felt like anything important to her. People were as insignificant as ants. Life was a toy to play with, and death was inevitable.
It was simple as that.
So she played with life. As a princess, she was bound to be married off like cattle, but did that mean she’d have to be a demure princess without any power? She overthrew Villain, a malevolent queen, and wasn’t it a good thing that she did? Hero had learned to replicate emotions by looking at expressions and people’s reactions—and people were cheering and grinning when she announced that she’d taken down their sovereign.
Somewhere above the deep, dank dungeons was a festival where people were celebrating their queen being overpowered.
“I always knew there was something wrong with you.” Villain pressed closer the the bars, a hand on her wound. Beads of sweat rolled down her face and she collapsed against the bars. Her eyes found Hero, and she glared. “I will burn your kingdom to the ground, you witch.”
Hero laughed and bent down. “Really? If you knew something was wrong with me then you were willingly ignorant, and that’s not my fault, is it?” She pouted with mock sympathy, and poked a finger through the bars to tap Villain on the nose. “I’ll enjoy your kingdom; I’ll certainly do a better job than you ever did.”
“Locking me up won’t bring Civilian back!” Villain snapped.
“Do you think that just because you’re loud that your words mean more?” Hero asked, head tilted. Her eyes flitted over Villain. “You deserve to be killed a thousand times worse than how you had Civilian killed, but I want you here to suffer.”
“You aren’t a hero. You’re an evil witch.”
“No. I’m a hero, but I’m also a witch.” She stood up and looked at the end of the corridor. “Bye bye, Villain.”
She savored the helpless look on Villain’s face before she turned around.

they didn't know why they did it.
maybe it was out of jealousy. maybe because they knew that this person was dangerous, that they would hurt the person they loved most. maybe they just loathed them that much
but they did it. and they didn't know why.
hero didn't know why they killed supervillain. all they knew was that villain was going to murder them for it.
