OC-Tober Prompt List Day 3: Crunching Leaves

Summary: Tom and his granddaughter Eda spend an Autumn afternoon in the parks of Coruscant, enjoying the beautiful colors the season brings

Character Summary: Tom the owner of 79s clone bar, is a lifelong Coruscant citizen. He grew up in a middle class family and had a wife and 3 kids-two sons and a daughter- that live in different parts of the galaxy. But he has amazing relationships with each of them. When he was younger, Tom was a professional ice skater along with his wife. When he retired, he took the time to teach other aspiring skaters in a school run by him and Millie. A lot of kids from Upper Level families attended his classes, thus creating his connections throughout Coruscant on the influence level. Once his wife died, he lost his passion for skating and closed up the school. During a dark time in his life, the clone wars started and seeing those young clones one day just standing outside their barracks with nothing to do sparked something in Tom. He talked to his many friends, got together, and helped give clones their right to just cut loose and relax every now and then. They are people too afterall. He opened up 79s and sees evey one of those young men that walk through his door as a part of the family. Tom never judges anyone and would give you the shirt off your back if you needed it. You can usually find him behind the bar, cigar in hand, and ready to give you the advice you need or to just talk (because sometimes thats all you need is a conversation)

“Look at all of the cool colors, grandpa!” Eda laughs, twirling in the pile of fallen leaves. She turns to Tom and smiles, holding up a bronze colored leaf. “I think this one is my favorite-OH OR THIS ONE!” She immediately dives into the next pile, reaching for a vibrant yellow.

Tom chuckles. “I suppose you haven’t been to visit in the Autumn.” He looks around the busy park. “Its like all of Coruscant came out to enjoy the fall colors today.” He adds, grumbling to himself.

Eda runs over, taking Tom’s hand.”Oh grandpa! You are always so grumpy. Come on!” She pulls him along the pathway.”You said there was a covered walkway with more pretty leaves up ahead! I want to see them all!”

“Alright I’m coming, I’m coming!” Tom huffs, allowing the little girl to lead him through the sea of people. “Be careful Eda.” He adds as she narrowly misses bumping into a group of troopers. Tom gives them a quick nod as they laugh at the little girls determination. “Watch for others, especially the boys in white.” He reminds her sternly.

“There are so many of them.” Eda stops, looking up at the nearby tree.”I’ve never seen so many!”

“Well kiddo, it's wartime and Coruscant is the Capitol.” Tom explains, bending down next to his granddaughter. “Its only naturally it would be full of troopers.”

Eda rolls her eyes. “Not the troopers grandpa! The leaves! Colors!” she points to the quiet grove of trees in front of them. “We see big groups of troopers back home all of the time! Especially when they were evacuating the nearby planets. But we don’t have these.” She grins, bending down to pick up a small red leaf at her feet. “This one.. This one is my favorite!”

Tom sits silent as he watches Eda squeal and run through more of the warm colored leaves, the brisk breeze of war hitting him a little harder today.

"You've done it now, anon." Tom chuckles as the wookies jump over the tables to give them a hug. "Ya know once a wookie starts hugging you, they ain't gonna stop unless you offer them some food. Looks like you are gonna be stuck with us for awhile." He sighs, slowly standing up. "How about I go in the kitchen and fix us up a big batch of wookie cookies and we can sit and chat about your woes. Or we can just enjoy our cookies and a drink without even mentioning the bad stuff."

this is a bit of an ask inspired by another ask (and also ridiculously silly) but what’s the boys’ relationship with penny like in the future?? i loved the little snippet of her at bradley’s wedding and ice trying to figure out if she’s a threat or not (and then maverick coming back from dancing and saying he couldn’t stop gushing over ice….ugh!!!) but do they become good solid friends? I like the idea of them expanding their circle now that they can trust more people…even if one of those people are one of maverick’s exes

additionally: do her and ice ever talk about their shared experiences (not sex, ice would probably keel over and die, but just…having a relationship with mav)? the thought of penny cornering him is ridiculously funny to me. or maybe they never reach that point of comfort 🤷‍♀️ i just need to know if she ever takes them both sailing and ice gets a chance to laugh at mav on a boat

[also, in all sincerity, I have an unhealthy amount of things to say about this series and I’m a bit sad it’s over, but I love everything you’ve done <3 I could compliment it for days on end and probably never run out of things to say]

“This bar makes Stars “ Tom Holland says in a deep sleep as he rolls over on to his back as he snores.In deep slumber his mind drifts away until he thinks he is awoken, he sits up in his bed in a feverish sweat. His mind grows groggy landing on to his feet he slips from his bedroom and out the door as it shuts.

There is a long path of bricks leading in to a blue brick road his feet start to shuffle ever forward. As he continues to walk something is most definitely off with bright lights striking past him.Loud music is playing blasting through the windows fully propelling him forward as his fest begins to break out.

Reaching edge of the road he comes to a full stop standing, staring and lost in a sea of amusement.He watches through the window at the utter beauty of a wondrous light show with neon lights swaying away.People are dancing away with the dj and the bartender are in dance mode performing all over the place.

Tom enters the foray in to the door way slip in to the hallway as he moves closer to the end of the entrance. He is left in awe stepping an inch closer the doors slam shut automatically locking in place there is no escape.The music grows louder booming higher in to the massive cabin as the dj begins to go blending genres.

Less then a second people stop everything they are doing as they stare up in to the sky watching the beautiful dance being unveil .It is for all to see as the ceiling slides open letting the fresh night air and the stars are on full display. “The shooting stars are driving everyone to a new high, the world is crazy, give in so we may dance.” Dj states.

The music penetrates his mind bouncing all over the place everything goes wild in awe amazing effort.He loosens up dancing like a crazy person in his clothes, stripping off what still exist of the semblance of his life.He spins about landing on his feet he faces in to two mirror, poor Tom Holland is an actor no more he backs up.

The cabin grows dark leaving him isolated and alone with both slamming back on to the floor smashing.The glass shards are breaking extremely loose spreading on to the floor and shaking him in to his core.He walks to one kneeling down he peers in to the shards seeing alternating versions of himself.

The shards are starts to align crawling one little shover growing closer to him as they are reassembling. They form the back building it as it core and the shards jump on to it completely showing him who he is.He continues to back up in to an invisible wall behind him and find himself total blocked in place.

Dj Tom Holland exists the motto pushing past the glass on to the floor of the dark room as he looking so fine.Behind him there is a hand touching both of his shoulders, he grips him tight with love in his heart.That is bartender Tom Holland started to turn him to face him and he finally gave in to it like a puff of smoke meeting with both versions of him.

the other night I went out to dinner with my dad and some of his biker friends, and one of their wives, smiling ear to ear, pulled up a chair and sat beside me. it’s not relevant to the story but for the sake of visuals I want you, the reader, to know she’s a 4′9 Korean woman in her 60s. so she pulls up her chair and sits down and is like “you know, [husband] has a reputation for never losing a fight!” and I was like “I’ve heard that about him! He must have really been something back in the day!” and she looks me in the eye and goes “Yeah! It’s because of me! I carried a gun in my purse. If he got in a fight and it looked like he was losing, I pulled out the gun and BAM!”-she clapped her hands together so dramatically that she startled everyone eating out on the patio- “I fired a shot into the air! Everyone would scream and scatter and since it was usually downtown the cops would be showing up soon so the fight would stop. And so he never lost a fight. He was crazy to fight in the first place, but lucky for him, I’m crazier!” 

also she went on to tell me that whenever he got in a fight with a man that had a woman with him, the woman would usually try to jump in to help out the guy but her husband wouldn’t hit women. So she simply started carrying a length of chain with her and would start swinging it “like a warrior” if it looked like the woman was about to jump in. and if men ever got creepy with her she’d get out her chain and beat them with it, because “I was good at starting fights and [husband] was good at finishing them! And if he couldn’t, nothing a good shot in the air can’t fix!” 

anyway I’m now convinced I will never settle for anything less than whatever it is that these two have
