I am realizing how almost reversed Kirishima and Ashido's roles will be in the next (possibly) episode concerning Machia.

In middle school, although Ashido was scared she was brave enough to face Machia to throw him off by giving false directions while at that time Kirishima was frozen on the spot.

Now, Ashido is the one heading into danger, but froze on the spot because what she experienced the first time with Machia so Kirishima has to take the reins from her this time.

And already I can see the takes coming back on how Ashido got turned into a damsel and yadda yadda. I have gotten used to fandoms being divided over takes and whatnot, so I don't care anymore. So yeah, I'm not up to debate about it. We all have our different opinions.

My honest opinion?

It kinda felt almost like a "closure" scene to me for Kirishima for dealing with one of his biggest regrets. Remember, that moment was one of the times he felt the weakest, he felt like a failure. So in 280, he felt like can finally put a lid on that. And in that scene, the capsule he gets into Machia's mouth was the one he got from Ashido. He acknowledged that. He acknowledged Ashido's bravery. He's "I finally get to pay you back". In that scene, he doesn't see Ashido as a damsel, but as inspiration. Someone to admire as a fellow hero.

As for Ashido, I don't think that scene was meant to be her moment. Why? BECAUSE THE MANGA IS STILL GOING!!! That moment didn't feel like it was going to be a big Ashido moment to me, it just didn't. Didn't give me that vibe.

It's kinda crazy how people were all like "oooh, Kamijiro canon" and "oh, look they really do love each other" and "she's inspiration for him" when Kaminari thought about Jiro before dealing with that electric shock.

But when Kirishima saves Ashido it was she's a damsel?

Maybe it's just me, but it sounds real picky how what's "romantic" or "platonic" or "she is a damsel" or "she is inspiration".

Like what, Ashido couldn't be Kirishima’s inspiration? All because he (and Tetsutetsu) saved her? He has to go all googly eyed and Ashido had to get the dreamy filter for it to be a "ship" moment?

You can still save someone from impending doom and still see them as inspiration. Also... they are hero students? Any hero student would save their fellow hero student from danger like that!

I'm also guessing the popular fanon thing that Kirishima is gay and Kaminari is bisexual plays a part in saying "Ashido was a damsel in distress" (so it feels impossible for Kirishima to like Ashido that way) and "Oh Jiro really is his love" (feels possible).

Before anyone say anything because I know there are complete toxic assholes who like to twist words in this fandom, no I am not against Kirishima being gay or Kaminari being bisexual.

I have no problem with sexuality headcanons. Nor do I have a problem with Kirimina and Kamijiro.

Anyways!

I'll be honest... moments like that are cute to me and yeah, I do be like "ship moment", but also I click off my shipping brains and see those moments as the character's time to shine, moments where they have a hit of inspiration from others they are close to (not in a shipping way), their hero moments.

I always thought that Endeavor's reaction was because of how he also hurt his family, but it always bothered me that the other part of the sentence didn't fit (because his abuse was never about helping strangers, but to further his own goals).

But it fits his father who hurt his family by dying for a complete stranger (and to make it worse, not even managing to save her).

Kirishima’s Quirk prevented him from breaking anything from the force of Machia’s blow, but he probably couldn’t have dug his way out of the earth that quickly without the aid of all that softening. (MHA ch 279) 2) “Oh no, oh the humanity~ who’s gonna save the day now?”- The only boy who will never break under the pressure.

3) “ kirishima was like “outta my way gay boi imma steal this chapter” then a moment later “i got crushed to death” “- Kirishima’s done letting himself be crushed by the weight of his own fears and doubts, let alone machia’s hand.

4) “And Machia is up again, and majorly pissed off. This does not bode well for the keikaku*”-  I find it somewhat disquieting that machia actually can call the League ‘comrades’. That shows an atypical level of self-thinking and reflection from him, that he does truly think of the PLF and the like as being equals in the same ideology, rather than devoting all his brainpower to revolving around AFO and Tomura alone. 5) “OOHHHHHH THERE HE GOES THE ROCKY BOI IS GOING UP!

HOLY SHIT KIRISHIMA’S CLAWS ARE HARD ENOUGH TO EVEN PIERCE MACHIA’S HIDE JESUS FUCK MAN

AND NOW MACHIA IS EVEN MORE PISSED OFF THAN BEFORE “- Due to a smaller surface area, the sharpness of kirishima’s claws are enough to barely pierce into Machia’s first layer of skin because they focus all of his grip strength into a single piercing point, allowing him to cut just deep enough to draw blood, but not any great level of damage that can’t be healed in a day or two. Thankfully, Kirishima doesn’t need to wound Machia, he just needs him to keep talking and leaving his big mouth wide open…

MY GOD GIRL”- Who needs an army base to supply you with tanks and helicopters when we’ve got Momo on the field? Other side-note, Horikoshi is almost certainly going to be moving onto drawing a horror manga once MHA is wrapped up. 11) “But boy, I have a strange feeling that Endeavor just managed to get Shigaraki madder, and he’s about to snap with a breaking speech that will make Stain’s one seem like a baby talking”- Machia might be the one based on the Hulk, but Tomura seems to have his “mad = more power” ability in a twisted self-sustaining cycle. He gets mad and attacks the heroes for what he suffered, they beat him down to protect themselves and others, he views this as more unfair abuse being heaped on him and everybody ganging up on him and starts fighting back more viciously, rinse and repeat until he’s standing atop a mountain of dust and exulting in his victory despite missing half his body from the struggle. 12) “Kirishima’s backstory showed how he was always hesitant to jump in, and how seeing Mina move before she could think was one of the factors that allowed him to break out of that shell. Now, in the present day, we have Mina hesitating due to fear, and kirishima jumping in front of her, before he could even think about what he was doing that was a neat parallel, I love how both their stories and moments connected like that, it is so cute.”-  Another parallel was that Mina had the time to steel herself before jumping in, not being suddenly put on the spot like she was here, and Kirishima had all that time running through the flames to self-prepare himself for leaping in when she couldn’t finish it herself. But despite that, Mina did have the opportunity to throw the vial in herself, it was just the unfortunate coincidence of it being Machia who traumatised her before that tripped her up, something nobody could have predicted, so if she can see past his fumble here, she should be able to recognise her own heroic deed for what it was.

And that's the end of the chapter, and god finally we got the conclusion of Yor's misadventures in seducing married women around town.

What a great chapter, especially because we got to see Twilight being lovely to Yor even though he immediately went "it's all because of the keikaku*"

But boy, there is something going on in the Desmond household. I thought I had a clear picture of what Melinda thinks, but that scene threw not only a wrench but the whole damn toolbox into that line of thought. I'm definitely not sure what she thinks of her kids, if she hates them or is indifferent or if she likes them but pretends not to as to appear tough- I really don't know what to think.

And I also am not sure what to make of the Garden right now. The shopkeeper did pretty much threatened Melinda to Yor, and the reaction to knowing Twilight is interested in Donovan's body- I mean, party... I have a feeling twilight's problems have just begun...

The war of Friendships has just begun, and we shall see the ones that shall fall during this bloody conflict...

USJ/Season 1

Everyone has their quirks, so they're used where they work for the camera, i.e., using Kurogiri's warping ability to warp into USJ to make it look as accurate as possible.

Everyone has embarrassing bloopers, no matter what they say.

Interviewer: What's a blooper that no one could get over?

Tenko: I kept falling over when we entered the USJ. There wasn't anything for me to fall over and, on one take, I gave up on staying in character and just yelled "what am I falling over?"

There's pictures of Aizawa in the USJ arc where he looks like he's dying and is just drinking coffee.

The child actors are meant to have their parents on set as well since they're children. The definition of "parent" changes. Izuku has Tenko because Tenko is an adult and related to him. Shoto has Touya there.

Touya spends most of his time saying "go villains! Kill that bitch!"

Dan Phantom's Core?

Okay so this has just hit me, in Danny Phantom the Ultimate Enemy we find out that Dan had Vlad remove his human side, and Dan stole Vlad's ghost half.

We also find out in the episode Urban Jungle that Danny Has an Ice Core

So I have always thought that Vlad has a Fire core, But correct me if I'm wrong

So when Dan Phantom was created what happened to Danny's Ice core did Vlad's Fire core consume it or because of the events that led to the Ultimate Enemy he never developed his Ice Core fully?

Since the episode The Ultimate Enemy happened before Urban Jungle.

You Can't Stay Blind - (SuperWho (SPN/Doctor Who)) - the Eleventh Doctor runs into Crowley who's wearing a too familiar face

In the Pasture of a Vale (Supernatural) - Dean runs into Adam and Ben five years post-season 5 (written back in 2010)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

 I think I always end up with a kind of mixed emotion ending like Best Laid Plans or Our Soulmate Academia, so it's difficult to remember the truly happy ones. The most recent happy ending would be The Mystery in the Fog (ACD!Holmes) where Holmes and Watson end up at the same secret wedding of an underground queer club they're both members of unbeknownst to each other and have some revelations

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sometimes I do. The most infamous incident was the time I wrote a fic speculating on who Castiel's vessel might have been before I got to Jimmy's episode in my binge watch back in the day. The reviewer went into gruesome detail on how I was going to burn in Hell for my fic. It was unreal. I just deleted the fic and then went on to write several more SPN fics as you do.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I've written smut a handful of times for fics and more often than that for RP since that's part of the RP culture I fell into in university. Most of my smut fics have been orphaned now, but the one that remains is Swallow My Fang at Night Island (Interview with the Vampire (AMC)) I approach smut like I approach fight scenes so I can keep track of the flow of action. I keep my own personal kinks out of it and try to write a scene I think the audience would look for instead

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I've written 15 crossovers. I enjoy them tbh. In terms of plot, the craziest one I wrote was Distortion (BBC Sherlock/My Life in Film) where Jones was hired to play Moriarty and things get way too real. In terms of titles crossed over, the craziest one is probably The Hokage (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle/Naruto)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, ages ago. It's why I'm my own beta reader or Kitty Britpicks me because I can trust her

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I had some requests but I've never been alerted to the final products

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

My brother and I regularly cowrote fics together when I was in high school and he was in middle school. If you ever read a Trigun script-based crack fic in the 00's with the phrase "Love and peace! Doves and geese! Change the world!" or "Another carnival ride with cotton candy," that was us.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

I don't think I actually have one because I'm a multi-shipper and I have so many favorites. That said, it might be inuyasha/Kagome since I always had an Inuyasha fic in rotation (usually more than one though) from 2001 - 2007 or so. Unfortunately they've all been lost to time. According to my AO3 relationship toggle in the filters sidebar, it's Destiel (7) and Devil's Minion (7)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a BnHA fic from before we learned what Hagukure's powers were where she sent Class-A and Aizawa back in time to Yagi's high school years to do a kind of Tenchi in Love (1996) type of plot where they had to stop a time traveler from murdering Yagi. I wrote quite a bit of it but it stalled on me when Midoriy and Nana interacted and I wasn't completely sure how to get that to work

16. What are your writing strengths?

The most consistent thing I get complimented on are my fight sequences, which is why it's sad I lost all my IY fics because I wrote so many fights for them

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My memory is a sieve and some of the holes are too big

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it before because I was a weeb and it was a trend in the 00's. Not sure I'd do it again now that I've matured past that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically fairytales. I retold Cinderella when I was so little my mom had to write it down for me because I couldn't write yet. I drew pictures to go with the narration

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

The Land Across the Sea (Black Clover/Boruto) - Boruto ride a tsunami to Clover Kingdom and the knights have to take him back home, which is also Yami's homeland.

I got the idea for this fic when a friend and I were talking about what we'd want the Black Clover movie to be about when it was first announced. Then I took my idea of Yami getting to return to his homeland and made it a crossover because I like the idea of Yami and Naruto knowing each other from back in the day.

okay, something tells me this ain’t gonna be about her specifically”- I mean, in a sense, their backstories are meaningfully intertwined about the same event, with each one having a knock-on effect on the other, pushing them forward into becoming better heroes with their attempts to emulate the heroism and effort they see in each other, so it’s kinda impossible to separate them. They even have contrasting abilities, Kirishima hardens himself from the outside-in, mina softens things around her in an external matter.

2) “DAMMIT MINA EVEN GOT AN ABOMINATION SHIPPED STRAIGHT FROM THE BOILING ISLES HOW IS THIS CHAPTER NOT ABOUT HER”- Well it is, it’s just that Mina’s still an ordinary girl underneath her bubbly peppy personality, and even she needs to be saved now and then…especially from old fears. 3) “Everyone that survived is alright? I already see that kaminari is need of a stone to the head to see if it puts his screws back into place, but seemingly everything is fine. ”- If you’re gonna die, at least you’ll appreciate the small comforts more on the way out. 4) “AND THERE GOES MY GIRL STRAIGHT INTO THE JAWS OF DEATH AFTER SHE GAVE A DEATH FLAG A FEW CHAPTERS AGO OKAY I’M STARTING TO THINK THAT OJIRO IS NOT THE PERSON I SHOULD BE WORRYING ABOUT RIGHT NOW”- The problem with the kids raising death flags all over the place is, the danger level is just so high – it’s impossible to tell who’s actually going to make it or not anymore until the dust settles and the bodies can be identified. I’m not even fully certain all of 1A will make it out of this, especially since Tomura’s being directed specifically to target one of them.

6) “It is a true fuckstorm over here jesus. The league is being pushed back and is about to be overrun, now only something truly horrible can save them from this pickle”- The walking act of god that was mindlessly steamrolling you before ‘waking up’ and actively targeting you fits the bill.

When she says that she’s gotta ‘melt it away’, she means the uncertainty that’s handing over her and the others as to their teacher’s wellbeing, and the faint hope that she’s still alive, if they can just settle matters with Machia quickly enough and come to her aid. Whilst she seemed to brush it off before, Mina was actually doing the same thing she did with Machia before, putting on a brave and confident face to reassure others despite her own fears, taking the pressure off of others, but putting it all on herself instead…and that much pressure, in a crises moment, can cause you to unexpectedly crack at the worst possible moment.

8) “It is, of course, through, but I have a feeling those guys on your back wouldn’t enjoy the ride that much.”- The commandment he was given, empowering him like the voice of the lord himself, and whatever he has to do to fulfil that order filtered through his low-mind state. 9) “OH THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT GOOD

So it was Machia back then? Oh, that’s interesting- a little worrisome that he was just walking around and nobody gave a shit, really worrisome I must say, as much as much as what he’s about to do now that he’s mad”- Machia’s a big guy, but for some inexplicable reason he has the weird ability to become absolutely undetectable and unseen by others for long periods of time, despite the fact that people should be searching for him and that he sticks out like a sore thumb. His ‘Mole’ and “energy saver” quirks are useful if he’s hiding for a long period in places like the mountains, but the guy just seems to somehow have the ability to just ghost around the place however he wishes when he’s not ordered by his master to wreak the joint in a loud and spectacular fashion – and we know what it’s not a Quirk he has either. Even more concerning is that he was on a direct mission from AFO at the time, which apparently succeeded, but again, nobody noticed it. AFO’s plans have proceeded like a dream so far, regardless of what the heroes did, but even at this late stage in the game, we still don’t know what they are really – it seemed like he wanted Tomura to actually succeed him as a villain in his own right, but now that he’s actively trying to overwrite his consciousness, that’s out the window, and it’s again unclear what goal he wants to achieve through all this chaos. 11) “I also remember that, you were terrified, but even so, you didn’t let that stop you Mina, and that was exactly what made Kirishima fall in love with you.”- That time, she had a few moment to mentally prepare herself. This time, in this split second, it catches her off-guard and the fear makes her freeze up and not be able to think straight.   12) “OH NO THAT AIN’T GOOD THE VISUAL METAPHOR OS REGRESSING TO THAT SCARED, YOUNGER SELF- THAT USUALLY COMES RIGHT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS THEIR SPINE CRUSHED IN HALF BY SOMEONE’S ELSE JAWS”- Mina thought she’d conquered her fear, but it was there all along, and it came back to haunt her at the worst possible second….luckily for her, there’s a guy in her corner who’s done nothing back face his fears head-on to become tougher for it all this time. 13) “Mt. YEET “- Her neck is almost certainly broken now. Machia is done being gentle.
