Headcanon time:
Tumblr media
these are McKenna Grace and Sebastian Stan's faces overlaid on each other
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and look at her canthal tilt compared to Chris Evans ( like yes, that's also why they play uncle and niece in a movie)
Just sayin'....
---tw: medical abuse, violation of reproductive autonomy ---
Say, Hydra had a human/supersoldier breeding which failed because the human ova couldn't deal with the other half of DNA from Bucky- they figured out that if they could recombine an Ovum with existing supersoldier DNA- the embryo would be viable.
The problem is- the serum doesn't allow cloning. So they need another supersoldier's DNA.
But Isaiah Bradley is 'dead' at that point in time.
Only in 2012 does a new opportunity arise: Steve Rogers is in a vulnerable, freshly thawed state, free to be sampled from.
The experiment is restarted and selected women are implanted with viable zygotes. They're shifted around Hydra bases where the Avengers inadvertently disrupt the process while they destroy the bases in 2014-2015.
Most of the pregnant women die from complications, but one survives and gives birth to a baby girl. Idk, this woman could be (Y/N) but I don't do reader insert fics.
The mother of this kid leaves Hydra and flees with Sokovian refugees to neighboring countries.
And eventually post endgame, she finds out who the father(s) are, and she gives them custody so that she can recover from the experiment.

🍁 and 🏳️‍🌈
🍁 - When did you first realize you were queer?
I joke that my datemate was my gateway drug to being queer lmao. They sent me a pinterest post about aros and aces in the hunters of artemis and I didn't know what that was so I asked them on the bus in 7th grade and they explain and I decided "yea I vibe with it". I also joined an asexual & aromantic discord the day they explained it and also tried reading smut to make sure lol
Meanwhile, I decided I was pan after daydreaming in a sports team themed store (not naming because local baby) and decided "yea I'd vibe with dating a nonbinary person"
Gender was after a Miles McKenna video lmao
🏳️‍🌈 - Do you enjoy the colors of your preferred flag? Do you incorporate it into your outfits, decor, etc.?
I'm basing it off of the ace flag, since that's the one I probably use the most.
Yea, I like all my flags tbh! Like I said, ace flag I use the most, but I do incorporate it some into outfits while still being closested
My datemate and I have matching friendship bracelets that are ace and rainbow. I also have a sweater I got from Eddie Bauer that's ace flag colors that I got for the same reason. That and my favorite (now discontinued) pattern from Vera Bradley I highly enjoyed because ace flag colors

Wildest Dreams Series: The Night We Met - Part 3
t was a freak accident, a bird strike to both engines, he could smell the smoke from the engines,adding to his nerves as  he tried to recover as he spiraled faster toward earth. A sick feeling in his stomach when he couldn’t recover and when he realized he’d have to eject.
 Not only for himself but for Skully if this went wrong Jesus if this went wrong.
 The next thing he remembered was bright lights and annoyingly loud beeping, people speaking in a language he didn’t understand and pain.
 He woke again, in a strange place, the lights were less intense, but that beeping was annoying. He noticed his leg was in a cast hanging from the ceiling. His hands were covered in bandages.
“Bradley!” She burst through the door
 “Skully?” He spoke realizing now how raw his throat was.
“You look like you’re in pain, are you in pain?” The normally calm medics eyes danced over him, her hand reached out hut pulled back from touching him a few times.
“I’ll let you know when the drugs wear off.” He told her dryly.
 “I love you Roose, I’m so glad your ok.” She offered him a trembling smile “When I got the call, I didn’t know what to think.”
 “I love you too.” He mumbled.
A few more days past, Skully sleeping in the uncomfortable chair next to his hospital bed before they were finally able to get back home. Rooster would be out of action for another month at least.
He tried when they got back to her apartment to pretend that things were normal that he didn’t have nightmares of the crash, that led to nightmares of something he couldn’t remember, of his dad and Maverick, the jet wash and his dad’s death. Of his mom’s endless tears. Of his heartbreak and confusion. Of Maverick’s inability to look either of them in the eye for a while.
He’d been to see Dr. McKenna at the base, he was cleared for duty and would be back on an aircraft carrier deck in a weeks’ time.
“How’d it go babe?” Skully’d been waiting for him at his apartment when he got back.
 “Yeah, good. I’m all clear.” He was short, precise, distant.
“Skully we need to talk.” He said with a sigh, leaning against the door frame.   He saw her frown, her brows furrow.  “
Yeah, of course Roose, what’s up?” she asked moving toward him.
 He gathered himself before speaking “Thank you for all you’ve done for me.”
She looked at him strangely “Of course, its what you do for someone you love.”
He shifted uncomfortably. “But I don’t think we should see each other after today. I think I need space.”
 “Bradley, if your accident has you scared, I don’t blame you, but I’m not worried I have every faith in you.” She said rubbing his arms with her hands, peering into his face with earnest eyes.
He hated that she could see right through him.  He stiffed and removed her hands from his arms, crossing his own and frowning at her. She dropped her hands to her sides looking hurt.  “I’m not scared. I just think this has run its course. We did this little domestic
ated thing for a month, and its not for me. I don’t want to be involved with you anymore. Even on a friend level, we need to cut this down at the root.” His tone was clipped, demeanor cold, he watched her study his face for clarity
 “Roose, your joking? I don’t get it but your joking, right?” Her eyes were welling with tears, and he had to clamp down on everything thing inside him to stop himself from yelling yes this is a sick sick joke.
 “I mean, we’re more like friends with bens anyway you don’t call me your girlfriend even though I’m not interested in seeing anyone else, so I don’t even think you can break up with me.” She rambled now not looking at him, clutching at straws to try to stop her heart from breaking.
 “This is it, Skully, I don’t want to see you anymore. There’s nothing between us, don’t know if there ever was but hey it was fun. It’s just I want to have fun with other girls now.” He kept his tone, light and indifferent. He had to do it, better he break her heart now while he was alive and she could hate him, then if he were dead and she couldn’t.
 She paused then and Rooster saw a gambit of emotion run across her face, anger, hurt, even one point she looked like she might throw up. She put on a blank face before looking at him again.
“I wish you well in everything you do.” She said flatly before briskly leaving the room not stopping to look back once. If she had she’d have seen him slump back against the wall with his head in his hands.
 I don't know what I'm supposed to do  Haunted by the ghost of you Take me back to the night we met

The Fall
[Caged Canary masterlist]
Some more AU Bradley, this time from before the kidnapping.
contents: heroes and villains, electrocution, fall from a height, broken bones, emetophobia, concussion, hospital setting, needles, self-loathing, traumatic experience.
~~~
It was supposed to be a straightforward team operation, tracking down a minor group of villains. The one Bradley ended up chasing once the group had scattered - which wasn’t the ideal outcome, but the heroes still outnumbered them - looked young and acted frantic, clearly frightened by him of all people running after them. They ended up in the harbor, in an abandoned warehouse, where the villain discovered that the way they had come through was also the only way out.
He had them cornered. They weren’t ready to accept this, so they made a last-ditch effort to use a grappling hook to get to a beam high above ground. How they planned to get back down after sprinting along its length back towards the only exit was a mystery, but Bradley didn’t wait for it to be solved; he scoffed, amused, and nearly flew after them, pulling himself towards the beam. Once he was standing on it, he smiled, grabbed a weapon, and approached the villain, it was over, he’d won - until they crouched and pressed their hands to the beam, electricity crackled and traveled towards him, and all of a sudden he was completely frozen in place, unable to move. The crackling extended to his costume, sparks danced between the metal elements, his every muscle tensed up, his jaw locked, he couldn’t even scream. It wasn’t exactly pain, it was something else, and when it stopped, when the hold of electricity on his body disappeared, his balance was skewed. He tried to regain it, but he swayed on his feet, stumbled - and fell.
Air whistled in his ears before he landed hard on his side and this time he was able to cry out when agony exploded in his arm, his head hit the ground and the world rang, and air was knocked out of his lungs, leaving him panting in panic as his vision was slowly shrouded in dark fog. The villain appeared in his field of view, having made their way down safely; they threw a brief glance at him before turning around and running away. He tried to crawl after them, rolled over onto his stomach and cried out in renewed agony. He managed to prop himself up on one elbow - dimly aware of his right arm most likely being broken - lifted his head, tried to get up, but vertigo hit him and turned into nausea that made him retch. Everything was spinning, he desperately pushed himself backwards, overcome with confusion and dizziness so intense he wasn’t even sure where he was and what had happened anymore.
“Mercury!” he heard right before the fog swallowed him entirely.
-=-
When he woke up, the first things he felt were pain and nausea. He tried to open his eyes, but that just made matters worse, and he choked.
“Hey, here.”
He threw up again - thankfully, into a bucket that someone put close to him. He felt terrible, sick, and he couldn’t open his eyes more than a little bit. Too much bright light made the nausea even worse.
“Light hurts,” he whined, feeling tears gather in his eyes solely because of his physical state; he wasn’t able to think clearly yet. “C-could you-”
“Of course, sorry!”
He exhaled when he heard curtains being drawn and lights being switched off, and it finally got darker. He slowly opened his eyes; it made him dizzy, but he managed to keep his nausea at bay.
He was in a hospital room, and that sight alone made some vague memories come back, the sense that something had gone terribly wrong. He blinked as if in slow motion, and flinched when someone appeared in his view, a person he couldn’t quite place at first, but it didn’t take him long to realize who it was.
“Hey, Bradley.” Ruby sat down on a chair next to his bed and smiled with worry written all over her face. “I assume the answer is no, but are you feeling better?”
He frowned and shook his head out of habit, then cursed himself when the painful pounding in his head intensified.
“I-I don’t…” He trailed off, looking down only to see that his right arm was in a sling and there was an IV needle stuck in his left arm. “I don’t know. I still feel sick.”
Ruby nodded slightly, her lips pursed in consternation.
“Just holler if it gets worse, I’ll fetch you a bucket. Ah, wait.” She grabbed a glass of water from the nightstand and handed it to him. He accepted it - wincing when he was forced to take it in his left hand - washed his mouth and spat into the bucket, then sipped the water slowly.
“Thanks,” he said with a forced smile.
The air in the room was unbearably heavy.
“Sorry it’s just me. Mom and dad were here too, before you woke up, but they had to run. They’ll visit you soon, though.” He nodded, and she continued. “What happened? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
He closed his eyes for a moment, fighting through the pulsating pain and the fog in his mind until he started to recall what had led up to… this.
“It’s okay,” he muttered.” I… fell, I think. Yeah.” But there was more, the reason why he fell, and before he knew it his hands started to shake. “They had electric powers. We were on a metal beam and they touched it, and my costume… I… I fell.”
“Shit. I’m sorry.”
“It’s-it’s fine,” he lied. He was shivering, and this time his tears weren’t only caused by his pain and confusion.
“Bradley…”
“It’s fine,” he repeated. “Just a headache.”
He knew Ruby wasn't buying it, and he hated himself for not hiding his weakness better.
Weakness. He was weak, crying, and metal had a weakness too. He’d always been able to manipulate it, use it to his advantage, having full control over his powers after years and years of practice, and now it had hurt him, made the shock worse. He was suddenly acutely aware of every metal element around him, the bed frame, the needle in his arm, the lamps, everything - and he was… scared.
And Ruby could see that plain as day.
She was the last person he wanted to see him like this, the kind of hero he'd always aspired to be. He'd admired her his whole life, and now… now she was here, in this hospital, while he was in most likely the worst state he’d ever been in.
“Hey,” she said, laying her hand on his left shoulder and rubbing it a bit to comfort him. “Things like that… they happen, you know? Our job is dangerous, and sometimes the villains like to remind us about that. But you’re still an amazing hero, Bradley. Mercury.” She smiled, and he cracked a smile too, even though he couldn’t help but think about her and their parents having never had gone through anything like this, as far as he knew.
“Okay,” he sighed. “Thanks. For being here, too, it’s been a while, huh?” He let out a nervous short laugh. “I wish the circumstances were different.”
“Yeah, but it’s good to see you regardless. You should visit sometime soon, when you’re feeling better.”
“Sure. I will.”
He wasn’t entirely sure, though. Not when he was suddenly hit with a strange feeling of inferiority.
“I, uh…” He swallowed. “I think I’m gonna have to get a new costume. Get the whole thing redesigned, with… less metal? Crap, I should’ve thought of that sooner. I feel like such a moron.”
“You aren’t. It was fine for years.” Ruby shrugged. “My costume has metal elements too, you just… you got unlucky. You can change your costume and it won’t happen again.” She squeezed his shoulder. “It will be okay.”
It shouldn’t have happened in the first place, he thought, but didn’t say it out loud, opting to simply nod instead.
Ruby's words were logical, and on the surface he knew she was right, but deep down there was something that blocked her reasoning out, focusing on putting Bradley down for his stupidity and lack of foresight. There had been times when he felt inadequate, sure, but in those moments he would push further until at least the people around him were satisfied with his abilities and achievements. This, however, was different. He felt disappointed in himself more than anything else, uncertain, full of doubts, and he’d never felt this way this strongly before.
Something had changed back there, as if he had left something in that warehouse, something important - the thrill of the chase, the confidence and trust with which he’d always used his powers, the pure love he’d had for being a hero.
All lost on the beam along with his balance before he plummeted to the ground, defeated in what felt like every possible way.
GAME OVER for Caged Canary?
[Caged Canary masterlist]
contents: captivity, winged whumpee, wing amputation, feeling of loss, caged, brief mention of: blood, needles, cuts, alcohol.
Physically, Oscar was feeling lighter than ever before.
Mentally, he was weighed down with a thousand stones tied to his heart.
People were talking around him, yelling at each other, he heard Bradley's voice, someone lay their hand on his shoulder, softly saying something that he couldn't understand. He was still curled up on the floor, taking quick, shallow breaths, still too shocked to start sobbing, but the first sob finally escaped him when he saw something bright yellow and red before whoever was holding it was urged to the side, outside of his field of view.
It was his wing. His wings, shoddily cut off, leaving behind bleeding stumps on his exposed back. He tried to scream for help when those people, whose sense of restraint had been dulled by alcohol, held him down and started to cut, but a gag had been forced into his mouth, and all he could muster were incomprehensible screams of agony and terror.
"Hey, Ca- Oscar." He looked up to see Bradley, who was looking at him with a shocked, pained expression. He wasn't the one who had done this. He just hadn't been there to stop it. "Let's… let's just get you out of here."
He was hauled to his feet, but his legs immediately gave out under him, so he was picked up instead, by Bradley and someone else. His every breath was full of tears, none of his thoughts clear, agony still pulsating in his back. After that everything became a blur - he was in a car, lying on his stomach across the backseats, face buried in the artificial-smelling fabric, the car stopped, he was pulled out of it and carried somewhere else. Bradley's house, that much he still recognized. Then he was lying down again, and Bradley and someone else were standing next to him, talking about something in hushed voices. He still couldn't understand much, but he heard defeat in the stranger's voice, something about how there was nothing they could do.
A prick of a needle made his back go numb, and then there were painless incisions that still hurt more than he could bear. After that was done, they helped him sit up without saying a word, and wrapped bandages around his torso, covering the wounds.
He was picked up again, and then everything became familiar, the living room, the hallway, the trophy room, the gilded cage. He was carried inside and set down on the pillows, where he curled up, squeezing his eyes shut. Bradley crouched down next to him and sighed, reaching out to touch Oscar's shoulder, only for his hand to freeze in mid-air in the end.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled out a meaningless apology.
Oscar took a deep shaky breath and shifted, but it only served to remind him of what he had lost, of the sensations he would never feel again.
Physically, his wings were gone for good.
Mentally, they took with them an irreplaceable part of him, leaving him empty, wracked by sobs.
BAFTA Awards…
PUNCH Online reports that the BAFTA Awards are presented in an annual ceremony by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
These awards honour outstanding achievements in the film industry, both British and international, and are considered among the most prestigious film awards globally.
The BAFTA Awards were first held in 1947, making them one of the oldest film awards ceremonies. The awards ceremony usually takes place in London, and it attracts a significant amount of attention from the film industry and the public.
On categories, BAFTA Awards are presented in various categories, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and many technical and creative categories like cinematography, editing, and costume design.
BAFTA Awards eligibility and voting…
Meanwhile, films eligible for consideration are not limited to British productions; they include international films released in the United Kingdom during the qualifying period. BAFTA also has specific categories, such as Outstanding British Film, to recognize and celebrate British cinema.
The winners are determined through a voting process involving BAFTA members, who are professionals across various branches of the film industry. The voting process is designed to ensure that the awards represent the consensus of the industry.
While the BAFTA Awards are prestigious in their own right, they are also seen as influential in the larger awards season, including the Oscars. Many films that perform well at BAFTA often go on to receive nominations and accolades at other major film festivals and awards ceremonies.
The BAFTA Awards ceremony typically takes place in February, with nominees and celebrities from the film industry attending the event. The ceremony is popular for its red-carpet arrivals, speeches, and celebrations of outstanding achievements in film.
It contributes significantly to the recognition and celebration of excellence in the film industry, providing a platform for filmmakers and artists to showcase their work and receive acknowledgment for their contributions.
