I decided to make my analysis of So High School into a separate post, because I can’t help but think of this song every time I see photos of Taylor at the games. And sure, it sounds like a love song on the surface until you remember that Taylor was bullied in high school and start to dig a little deeper. Feeling "so high school" is not something a 34 year old woman wants to feel.

Let’s look at the lyrics.

"I'm sinking, our fingers entwined, cheeks pink in the twinkling lights" = To me this sounds like drowning, embarrassment, and diving in with the sharks

"Tell me 'bout the first time you saw me" = You mean her first Chiefs appearance when they 'slid off in the getaway car' at the end? Nothing good starts in a getaway car, babes.

"I'll drink what you think and I'm high from smoking your jokes all damn night" = I mean...

“I'm watching American Pie with you on a Saturday night" = What do we know about this movie? We know that it is renowned for its high school immaturity and misogyny. It’s about a bunch of horny boneheaded men who treat women like sex objects instead of people. Sounds a lot like football culture to me.

"Your friends are around so be quiet. I'm trying to stifle my sighs." = I'm in the box with your friends and family. I need to hold it together so I don't offend them, but I legit hate this.

"Cause I feel so high school" = SHE HATES THIS.

"Bittersweet 16 suddenly" = I don't think she was a fan of high school, you guys.

"Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me? It's just a game but really, I'm betting on all 3." = A clear reference to that kiss/marry/kill interview with Travis, while also saying "we're gonna get together, put on a show for everyone, and I'm going to slowly die inside until we're done."

"Get my car door, isn't that sweet. Now pull me to the backseat" = All I hear with this is Movie Director Taylor giving instructions to her leading man so they can get a good reaction from the audience.

"You know how to ball, I know Aristotle." = You're a jock. I'm a nerd. We are not compatible.

"Touch me while your bros play grand theft auto." = The official song lyrics on Spotify put grand theft auto in lowercase the first time and capitalized the second time. The capitalized GTA could refer to Travis's friends playing the video game, sure. But also - you know who was arrested in August 2023 for grand theft auto? Bashaud Breeland, a cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs who played with Travis in the 2020 Super Bowl.

"It's true, swear, Scout's Honor" = Look it up, I dare you.

And my absolute favorite:

"On the brink of a wrinkle in time" = This is TTPD, folks. Of course there's going to be a literary reference. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. The main character is a girl named Meg who is incredibly bright but struggles in school because she doesn't fit in with the other kids. After meeting a trio of badass witchy women, Meg travels to far-off worlds (a sort of deep portal time travel, you might say) where she joins the battle of light vs. darkness. What do we know about Taylor’s usage of light and darkness throughout her discography? It's giving… Reputation vs. Daylight? Shrouded in secrecy vs. out in the open? Based on everything else that Taylor has been hinting at through TTPD (not to mention Evermore and Midnights), it sounds like she is on the verge of diving into a much larger battle. And if I had to guess, I would bet that this battle will start during the Reputation re-release. Around Halloween. 🎃 When exile ends. Almost exactly 2 years after the Bejeweled music video was released. Maybe the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now cause she's dead?

I'm just speculating, but I will add that the 3rd book in the Time series is called A Swiftly Tilting Planet. There is a poem referenced through the book that goes like this:

With Ananda in this fateful hour, I place all Heaven with its power, And the sun with its brightness, And the snow with its whiteness, And the fire with all the strength it hath, And the lightning with its rapid wrath, And the winds with their swiftness along its path, And the sea with its deepness, And the rocks with their steepness, And the Earth with its starkness, All these I place with God's almighty help and grace between myself and the powers of darkness.

But wait, there’s more! ‘Ananda’ is a Sanskrit word that describes the eternal bliss that accompanies the ending of the rebirth cycle. It’s sounding more and more like she’s going to kill off Taylor TM and be done with the games, done with the reinvention. The plot summary of A Swiftly Tilting Planet says that it’s a book about "going back in time and changing might-have-beens." What decisions would she have made differently if she could do it all over again? I don't know, friends. Take from this what you will. All I know is, this woman and all her brilliant duality is going to send me to a padded room. ✌🏻

Helllooo! I heard you were taking requests so here is one! Aragorn x reader engaged and Aragorn has to meet her family. He is a little nervous since she has quite a large family but when he ends up meeting them he loves them.

“Relax, love. You’re too tense.” You said with a smile. You reached out to set a hand upon Aragorn's shoulder from where you sat on your horse in an effort to relieve some of his worries, but there was little effect. Aragorn's grip on his reins only tightened as you approached the Bree-land, his nerves getting the best of him.

"Forgive me, melleth." He replied softly, "But I've faced no greater task than this."

You rolled your eyes at his statement. Your fiancé was being a far too dramatic. Understandably, he was nervous about meeting your family for the first time; having spent so much time travelling around Middle-earth, you hadn't been home in years yourself, but introducing your fiancé was the perfect excuse to visit.

But Aragorn was overthinking the expectations your family had for him. You knew that they wouldn't care if he was the King of Gondor or a common peasant; he loved you and that was all that mattered. Aragorn, on the other hand, thought it necessary to exude perfection as best he could in the presence of your family.

"It's just around this bend here." You said, nodding in the direction of the Brandywine River. Your family had always been welcome amongst the Hobbits of Buckland, often trading cloth and wool with them in exchange for freshly grown vegetables and newly baked bread. And your family home rested at the edge of the Brandywine, perfect for transporting wares to Buckland, a task your oldest brother had assumed along with your father.

Next to you, Aragorn swallowed hard, your family home creeping into view. From where you were on the road you caught a glimpse of pale white smoke rising from the chimney, the scent of baked apples and cinnamon wafting toward you. Your mother was preparing a feast, no doubt about it. When you had first sent word of your engagement, your family had insisted upon bringing Aragorn to the Breelands to meet them. After all, it wasn't every day that the King of Men came riding into the western lands of Middle-earth.

As you and Aragorn came closer, you heard the voice of your second brother, Halforth, calling out to you, "Welcome home! 'Bout time you came back for a visit!"

"We were a bit busy, if you hadn't noticed. Big war and all." You answered, stopping your horse at the gate to your home and dismounting. You met Halforth halfway up the walk and gave him a strong embrace, laughing as his thick beard tickled your cheek.

"You look well, Y/N." He said with a smile when he finally released you. You grinned and dusted off your tunic, before glancing back at Aragorn, who was dismounting his own horse.

"That's him, then? The King of Gondor?" Halforth asked quietly as Aragorn came slowly up the walk.

"My fiancée, brother," you corrected, "be nice."

Halforth nodded once and walked up to meet Aragorn, glancing slightly down at him and puffing his chest. He eyed the former Ranger up and down for a moment before finally speaking to him.

"So... you're the one who's marrying my sister?" He said, his voice gravely and low.

Aragorn swallowed and nodded, "Yes."

Halforth's frown melted away, shifting into a bright smile. He let out a hearty laugh and wrapped his arms around the King's shoulders.

"Ha! Welcome to the family, brother! Come, both of you! Mother has luncheon waiting for us. The whole family is here and excited to meet you, Aragorn."

Clapping Aragorn heartily on the back, he began to usher you and your fiancée inside. As he was led into the house, Aragorn breathed a sigh of relief as he glanced over at you and saw you laughing with your brother. Contentment settled itself in his chest and he found himself smiling too.

He was home at last.

That would be season 4, episode 7 “The Butterstick Tab”!

Most importantly (to me) it’s the conclusion to Lemon’s series long arc dealing with her mother’s abandonment. We get Lemon telling off her mother and the show makes it very clear that what Alice did is unforgivable and Lemon in no uncertain terms does not have to forgive her. And she doesn’t! And it’s awesome to see as someone with a shitty parent cause a lot of the time the prevailing attitude in media is you must forgive your shitty parent no matter how shitty they were because you can’t make peace otherwise. And Hart of Dixie completely rejects that! And instead, Lemon makes peace by welcoming her half sister Scarlett into her life ❤️

We also get so much other great Breeland stuff. Shelby being welcomed into the family, Magnolia admitting that Lemon was the closest thing she ever had as a mother (which is very sad but we don’t need to get into that rn) - also the way Zoe is practically an honorary Breeland in this episode, Brick’s confidant, Scarlett’s protector, and of course Lemon’s unlikely sounding board…*chef’s kiss*

Oh also the way Lavon promises to wait for Lemon. Swoon.

Second most importantly is George & AB’s first date. I don’t have an essay to write about that, I just think it’s all very sweet and cute and I love them so so much

Also Wade’s plot of learning how to stop flirting is silly and fun but that’s when I like Wade the best! (See also: that very silly plot in s1 when he had to figure out Hangover style what happened to him the night before)

Anyway I love every single part of this episode very very much, it’s a perfect episode and satisfies all of my hart of Dixie tastes so yeah 🫶🏻

The seemingly casual statement held a deeper meaning. By ‘nobody’, he meant their families, and by ‘alright’, he meant they’d be safe from either one of their kin trying to drag them back to the dusty corner of rural Louisiana playing host to their decades-long feud, which saw Jasper and them on opposing sides, like a Bayou Romeo and Juliet.

Jasper sat opposite his lover on the floor of the tiny studio apartment. Cajun takeout and Jameson whiskey sat between them, whilst a small fire burned in the corner. The mattress where they’d sleep sat close by, with the bags they’d grabbed in their hurry at the end. It was a small and makeshift place, but a tiny, hidden corner of a sprawling city.

Despite the dark predicament, Jasper smiled at them. “Come on, darlin’, let me see you smile at least. You know, even just that makes me happier than any of them ever could.”

Oh yeah. I'm also told I dated one briefly during high school and even kissed her but I genuinely can't remember most of those years and i don't remember that. Four teenagers have been charged in the fatal shooting of a Chicago police officer who was slain last weekend as she was heading home from work, authorities said Wednesday.

Nineteen-year-olds Joseph Brooks and Trevell Breeland, Jakwon Buchanan, 18, and a 16-year-old boy face charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery in Saturday's killing of Officer Aréanah Preston, 24. The 16-year-old suspect will be tried as an adult, CBS Chicago reported.

The Chicago Police Department said Preston was fatally shot about 1:40 a.m. Saturday during a robbery spree.

All four were also charged with armed robbery, burglary, motor vehicle theft and other offenses in connection with incidents that occurred on Friday and Saturday, police said.

The youngest suspect allegedly bragged to a friend about the shooting, CBS Chicago reported. That friend went straight to police and called the suspect again, the station reported. This time, detectives were listening.

"During this phone call defendant, [the suspect] made additional admissions to the robbery and the shooting - including details that had not been released," Assistant State's Attorney Anne Rodgers McCord said.

The four were ordered held without bail Wednesday by Judge David Kelly, who said prosecutors had provided "a mountain of evidence" that the suspects had "engaged in a very violent crime spree."

After the bond hearing, Preston's mother, Dionne Mhoon, said she was "heartbroken" and "full of anger, rage, questions why."

It wasn't immediately known if they had lawyers who could comment for them.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued a statement commending police for swiftly apprehending the suspects responsible for Preston's "heinous murder."

"Their diligent efforts have removed violent, repeat offenders from our streets," Lightfoot said.

Cook County prosecutors said Preston was off duty and on her way home after her shift early Saturday on the city's South Side when the suspects passed her in a sedan, circled back and approached her as she stood in front of her house.

Residential surveillance video shows three people getting out of the sedan and running toward Preston, who was still in uniform, before several muzzle flashes are visible on video and she falls to the ground, according to court documents. The attackers ran back to the sedan before one person returned to grab Preston's gun, court documents allege.

The initial call of the shooting came around 1:42 a.m. on Saturday, but a backlog issue in the district led to a delay where officers didn't immediately respond, CBS Chicago reported. Around 2:02 a.m., a 911 alert was received from Preston's Apple Watch.

Interim Police Superintendent Eric Carter said Preston's death was a tragedy for the city.

Tyrone Pendarvis, the commander of the 5th District where Preston served, said the officer was a rising star whose death affected all who know her.

"She will truly be missed," he said.

Preston worked for the department for just three years before her killing, according to department officials. Hers is considered a line-of-duty death, which entitles her family to financial assistance from the state, the Chicago Tribune reported.

My favorite storyline / moment:

1. In season 1 when Ian visits Mickey in jail. “Say that again and I rip your tongue out of your head” There were so many perfect Gallavich moments but that was the first one which catched me!

2. When Mark told Lexie about their future and that they were meant to bes while Lexie was dying. It was so fucking sad and unfair but so emotional.

3. Every quote from the Phil's- Osophy

4. Carla and Samuels Macarrones Scene

5. When Wade and Zoe finally got together in the night George wanted to marry Lemon. The sexual tension was fucking incredible and Wade was so fucking hot.

6. When Clove died and screams Cato’s name and Cato came too late and only found her body and cried. (this scene ist only from the book). But I liked the story of Haymitch’s games, too. His alliance with Maysilee. The idea of him being a hot and smart young guy that couldn’t handle the memory of the games and the loss of his loved ones is so emotional and sad.

A storyline that never should have been written:

1. The break up of Ian and Mickey in season 5 only because of Ians mental health. Mickey tried so much to help Ian and Ian blamed Mickey without any reason. I was so furious.

2. Alex leaving Jo for Izzie and Izzie having kids from Alex sperm ???? This was a fucking joke. Yeah, hated the last Alex and Izzie break up and I would have loved seeing them stay together and grow as persons and lovers. I rooted so much for them. There was so much potential and I have to admit I prayed for her coming back and saving the relationship. Even years after her exit because of all the open questions but I never thought they would do something so bad like this. Him leaving Jo and all his life / friends [MEREDITH] only with a letter ? That has nothing to do with the Alex Karev he had become. It destroys his whole character development. I wanted Izzie back not Alex leave.

3. All scenes Jay disrespects Mitchell and Mitchells sexuality. Yeah you can mention this but sometimes it’s presented as funny and there are many stupid cliches. It’s sad even if it’s only a sitcom.

4. Carlas Dad causing Christians injuries so that he can’t talk about Polos fault. That was too sick.

5. Zoe's relationship with Joel. Not surprising. I kind of liked Joel but what the fuck? There was a love triangle with George why another one?

6. The way Katniss acted in Mockingjay. First of all she was a kid, why the fuck did she think she could make her own thing and kill snow without any plan? And it's written as if she is a war hero and not an abused kid. On the other side I hated how she treated Peeta and she is so self-pity, it's cruel.

Look, I don't want to make you ramble but I want to: I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT CALEC'S TIEFLING FAMILY 😭 is Milo the youngest? Are the twins a bit creepy like twins are sometimes? BARD MOM? (i love me some female bards) WHO ARE THESE AMAZING BEINGS I WANT DESCRIPTIONS

Oh you always know just want to say 🤭

OKAY! We're doing this, I'm gonna make a cut cause I'm gonna ramble and there's gonna be pics okayletsgo!

First, let's start with some introductions, starting with the parents.

Caelestia Breeland: A tiefling bard from the home of devil summoning, Cheliax. She's beautiful, she knows she's beautiful, and if she has her way she'll be beautiful until the stars burn out. She sings, dances, plays a bunch of instruments and, most importantly, she's a damn fine cook. She loves her kids, and she loves her husband. A lot. So much. Like, think Morticia and Gomez Addams these folks are having kids into their 40s and beyond they LOVE love each other and they don't hide it, much to their kids' chagrin. She's the "fun mom"

Speaking of her husband, Thorin Breeland: Thorin is a human ranger from the frozen Land of the Linnorm Kings. He made his way south looking for adventure, found Breachill and The Call for Heroes which is an event regularly held by the town when the people need adventurers. That's where he met Caelestia and fell in love. She thought he was quaint, he thought she was hot, it was a match made in heaven. She got pregnant with their first child and they got married shortly after at the ripe age of 18 and settled down in the town where they met. That worked out so well for them that they decided to keep it up and had 4 more kids after that. One of his wife's favourite things about him is just how normal and plain he is, which is unfortunate for him because none of his kids seemed to pick up that trait, and Milo is still a little too young to tell.

Speaking of kids, I'll skip the first born(we don't talk about him) and move to the next set. The Twins.

Jules Breeland: Jules is, by trade and passion, a rogue. Her whole life all she's ever wanted to do was disturb shit and look hot doing it and by god she's killing it. She's the only kid other than Calec who inherited their mother's tail and unlike her kid brother she leaned into that, and has trained herself to use it as either a distraction or a slightly clumsier third hand. Her thievery is a great boon while they're adventuring but Thorin has a hell of a time keeping her out of trouble at home. Caelestia doesn't care, she thinks it's good to keep practicing and if her daughter is gonna show up with a beautiful new pearl necklace for her and the guards aren't looking their way then who is she to question her good fortune? She's an absolute disaster lesbian.

Which brings me to, Freya Breeland: Freya looks like the least troublesome of the two sisters but actually that's just a carefully constructed ruse. Freya is a witch, a fire-starter, and an absolute fucking nuisance. She takes after her mother when it comes to her beauty and penchant for using it to her advantage and she lives to tease her kid brother. She wasn't born with the same kind of inherent magic as some of her siblings, so she used her head and reached out to some...less scrupulous benefactors, got herself a magical patron and hasn't looked back since. Her hawk familiar, Apollo, is her closest confidant after her dear sister and while at one point the bird used to try and reign in her chaotic tendencies now he just rolls with it. Despite the chaos, Freya is a genuinely kind and loving person and she'd do anything for her family even though she sometimes shows that by casting curses on them and animating Calec's toys when he was a child and convincing him they were haunted and giving him nightmares for months... but I digress. She took to potion crafting like a moth to flame, and her proudest achievement to date is figuring out the formula for Serum of Sex Shift and crafting it for Jules for her birthday. She's a distinguished member of the Pathfinder Society, like her sister and parents.

We know him, we love him. Calistair Breeland: I won't dwell too much on Cal cause he already gets all the spotlight but his place in the family is special. He adventured with the Breeland Bunch for a bit before Milo was born and then, as the next youngest and least experienced, it became his responsibility to stay home and take after the wean while the rest of the family went on an adventure. He took up a job as a blacksmith apprentice and quickly became lead smith at Quarters while also occasionally doing security on caravan runs and other shorter escorting gigs to keep food on the table while the family was away. He was a flirt and a troublemaker in his youth, a spoiled brat and the kind of pretty boy that knows he can get away with everything. He takes after his mom. Taking care of Milo, though, settled him a little bit and he's finally caught up to his age. He idolized his older brother, the oldest in the family and a Champion of Desna.... the first adventure they went on without Calec, though, his brother never returned from, and there's been a rage boiling inside of him over it ever since.

I don't have a mini for Milo because...it's darn hard to make a kid on heroforge lol. Anyway!

Milo Breeland: Milo is the baby. 8 years old, and Calec's biggest fan. He's smart, cheerful, inquisitive. He spends his days with his nose in books reading tales about heroes just like his family and insists he's going to go on adventures with Calec some day and save people. He looks the most like his father with his red hair and pale skin and big green eyes. The only sign of fiendish blood in him is the sharp incisors that have started to grow in. His mother babies him whenever she's home and seems to favour him, which pisses Calec off for reasons he's not ready to confront yet. Calec, who tbh used to be kind of a whore, won't date anyone anymore unless they're Milo approved and treat the kid with the respect he deserves. Milo adores Rehgar.

And then we have the animals, that I'm gonna breeze through. Ursa and Fenn:

Thorin's animal companions. Ursa is a sweet lady who loves her family, curls up with Milo every chance she gets, and is fiercely, fiercely protective. She likes to eat maybe too much, and snores like a beast. Fenn is a clever wolf (heroforge only had dogs suspend disbelieve and pretend he's massive lol) and younger than Ursa. He favours Calec and the two of them often caused a lot of trouble together when Cal was younger. Now, when they're together, he's Calec's training buddy. Calec can almost keep up with Fenn's speed now, and his goal is to outrun him.

I didn't include any info on Calec's older brother because, tbh, I decided I wanted my GM to cover that and I love the mystery xD No one ever speaks about him, they won't talk about what happened, and Calec is starting to think maybe he's going a little bit crazy. Milo was too young to remember him and now after all this time Calec is starting to worry he's imagined everything so I'm keeping the details I do know about him very vague on purpose lol. All he has left is Celeste, his frankly oversized polearm that he crafted through his mourning with the fragment of his brother's starknife that the family brought home, as a reminder that he ever existed at all.

I wanna run a game where everyone plays a member of this family and put them through so much shit ;;

~Gallorith: Elgaladwen's husband, and the love of her life. Currently a tea-master and gardener in Lothlórien, but was formerly a soldier in the Last Alliance. His experiences and loss there led him to become a pacifist. (@sewer-princess)

Lindandir: One of Elgaladwen's best friends, and a former lover. Almost married her to keep her parents from continuing to attempt to arrange marriages for her. An elf of the House of the Fountain in Gondolin, had been thinking of sailing soon, but has recently become more serious with his boyfriend, and no longer wishes to leave.

~Celebithil: Another good friend of Elgaladwen's. Previously a commander and soldier, now resides in Glaston, a small town in Breeland.

Curonthos: A scout, and border guard, also friend of Gallorith's, and really his deceased best friend's older brother. Elgaladwen has grown to appreciate the friendship of he and his wife after moving to Lothlórien and not knowing anyone but Gallorith.

Meneladir: The younger son of Celebithil, and a friend and former lover of Elgaladwen.

~Gilithion: The older son of Celebithil. Elgaladwen was interested in him once, but he did not share that interest, and perhaps resents her a little for having been with his boyfriend, Lindandir. (@sewer-princess)

~Fannir: A friend of Elgaladwen’s who she often saw at parties and gatherings when she lived in Imladris. (@sewer-princess)

~Tugillion: Fannir’s husband, and another friend of Elgaladwen’s from gatherings in Imladris.

~Gallindhil: Gallorith’s younger sister who resents Elgaladwen, and did not wish for she and Galloriith to be wed, since her best friend Mithalorn harbors feelings for him. She also blames Elgaladwen for keeping him away from home so much. (@sewer-princess)

Mithalorn: Gallindhil’s best friend, has feelings for Gallorith, and always thought she would be the one to wed him. She tried to help sabotage Elgaladwen and Gallorith’s marriage.

~Daerhovan: A friend of Elgaladwen and Gallorith. They both admire his books, and would like to get to know him better, and discuss plants more often. (@loremastering)

Saerlorn: Elgaladwen’s once-betrothed. They have mostly lost contact in recent centuries, though she still considers him a friend.

~Mingallin: An ellon Elgaladwen befriended when she first moved to Lothlórien. He convinced himself that Gallorith was mistreating her, and tried to woo her himself. They are on bad terms now, after she rather harshly rejected him to remain with Gallorith. (@sewer-princess)

Tilael: A distant cousin of Elgaladwen who she has not yet met, but is vaguely aware might be her only remaining family in Middle-earth. They share great-grandparents.

Do you think Dany have similarities with Aragon of LOTR?

I haven’t read the books in awhile, so I can’t give you a thorough analysis. Users such as fedonciadale have written on LOTR-ASOIAF parallels, but usually with Jon as the Aragorn figure, although I did write a response saying it’s the Targaryens who are deconstructions of the High Men of Gondor/Arnor rather than their ancestors, the Numenoreans. Dany does have similarities in that she’s the last Targaryen (as far as she knows), who is determined to claim a throne her ancestors vacated due to wars (not for power itself; but for either love or desire for home), is likely going to be met with some hostility on declaring herself queen (see book!Denethor, who refused to recognize Aragorn as king to the end), if you believe that the Dragons=Lightbringer then you have ancestral weapons being reforged (Aragorn’s sword Narsil had been broken in battle by his ancestor Isildur, but reforged by the elves into “the Flame of the West” Anduril and later used to prove his ancestry; much like Dany hatching the long extinct dragons, which are used to prove her ancestry which was why Aegon was initially trying to seek her). The second draft of LOTR, where Aragorn returns Eowyn’s affections but is unable to heal her after her battle with the Witch King, gives another parallel between Dany and Drogo (though idk if GRRM knows that version). There are some significant differences, like Dany always knowing her family history, not knowing a true home (Aragorn was initially fostered at Rivendell), her mother died in childbirth (versus Aragorn’s mother living to be 100), didn’t spend generations in disguise learning under different rulers of his future kingdom, or spent years leading the Rangers protecting the Shire/Breeland in secret (that’s a big part of her character; she is a teenager and makes mistakes, while Aragorn is 89 when the quest starts).
