Mud Dogz Rising chapter 5 - Mud Brothers! @scentedcandlecryptid

Three months had passed. Three months to bond, three months to plan, and plan they did. Daniel could find the best food the quickest of all three of them, and Leonard could ensure they kept their find and could eat their fill without encroachers. No one would mess with an ogre, after all, not even a cub. Mickey did what he did best: drawing the attention and adoration of passing yokai blissfully unaware that, while they cooed over the adorable eel, a young rat or ogre would just happen to pass by, and miles down the road that unassuming yokai would realize that their wallet was gone. The cash was split evenly between all three cubs, their supplies shared, and their skills of thievery only got better.

They were nomadic, moving wherever the yokai were plentiful and gullible to set up their temporary housing and suck the area dry before moving on. It was late now, and they were tired after a long day of earning their living, curled up among their shared nest of blankets trying to get comfortable. Mickey liked to sleep between Daniel and Leonard, their fur the softest thing to his amphibious skin and enough to keep out the chill of the city. Neither of the older companions seemed to mind, Daniel bringing his head to rest on the smaller yokai’s head and Leonard swinging a massive arm to pull the other two close.

Mickey’s sudden, euphoric giggles disturbed the sleep of all three of them. Daniel groaned and removed his head from Mickey’s, lifting his paws to cover his ears and block out as much of the sound as possible. It wasn’t that he didn't like Mickey’s laughter, but at three in the morning when he had been dreaming so contentedly of cheese and riches, it was like daggers to his mind,

“What are you laughing about?” Leonard grumbled without opening his eyes.

“We all gots… little scars on our earses…” The eel reached a hand up to touch the burn on his right ear, “On our right ones too…”

Leonard considered this, and started to giggle too. “Yeah… yeah we do…”

“It’s like we was meant to be brobbers...”

Daniel opened his eyes. “Brothers?”

Mickey sat up, tapping his hands together anxiously as he looked between both of the older yokai, who now gave him their full attention.

“Ya… if… if you wants to be…”

Daniel looked to Leonard and Leonard to Daniel. Then both looked back to Mickey and smiled as they nosed against his cheeks.

“Brothers it is.”

“Now and forever…”

Mickey giggled, opening tired eyes to look down at his mud-covered fins before he nuzzled back into the other two yokai; his brothers. “Mud Budders…”

Time went on and they got bigger. Much bigger. Leonard grew the fastest; the strongest and the fearless oldest brother who took control of the heists that only grew more extreme and elaborate as they got older. Daniel, the middle child, was a quick study and could tell at a moments glance who could be fooled and who couldn’t. Mickey, the youngest brother, and the secret weapon; once he learned to master his electric bolts, he was able to use them for almost any task, from incapacitating a guard to knocking out the Lights.

Together, they were the Mud Dogz.

summary: KGB dude seeks asylum in England then for SOME reason meets up with an italian "nuclear" expert. falls ill immediately following. what's cool is that it was almost undetected, since the guy used polonium-210, which emits very little gamma radiation.

cool quote: "British and US government officials said the use of 210Po as a poison had never been documented before, and it was probably the first time anyone had been tested for the presence of 210Po in their body" and "When I poured the remains of the teapot into the sink, the tea looked more yellow than usual and was thicker – it looked gooey. I scooped it out of the sink and threw it into the bin. I was so lucky I didn't put my fingers into my mouth, or scratch my eye as I could have got this poison inside me."

best section: "Polonium trails" (see: flushing radiation down the toilet as a means to dispose of it)

3. best for last and proposed title: "Lil Can o Whoop Ass" (i found this one to be the most interesting article) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goiânia_accident

summary: two bros (brobbers, if you will) steal a DeathCan™ from spooky abandoned radiotherapy hospital. pass it around town like a bad opinion. death ensues.

some probably real life quotes include "it's glowing blue! maybe there's a ghost inside. I can probably get money for this" "want to eat this chemical-rice from the deathcan? it's nutritious." and "i let my six year old daughter play with glow-dust for several hours. she sprinkled the blue on the sandwich and ate it. she's vomiting a lot now but it's probably unrelated."

worst section: "Ivo and his daughter" (seriously go read it wtf)

death count: 4 dead, 249 badly contaminated

I highly recommend reading this last one it is so interesting.

Me and @chertzy made our own Sun and Moondrop inspired babies <3 They own Careena, i own Cryeena!! They are our OCs, not at all a Sun and Moondrop AU, so please dont make anything with / of them :,D They are old timey based string puppets, Cryeena is a shy boi who only likes to venture out when its night/dark, he isnt evil, just has his strings cut shy.
