I'm back! Thank you kindly for your patience, we're done with Act III! It was probably a terrible idea to wait because this is so long, I'm so sorry.

previously, in harrowhark! a vagrant the ninth:

currently, chapters 24-31 (END OF ACT III!!!):

harrow wakes up after sleeping a sensible amount of hours in yandere twin's room

yandere twin, who's into chomping cavaliers, complains about having had some harrow soup

they have a sort of tender moment, I guess

they have a complicated dynamic

harrow falls asleep again

she's in the bed and yandere twin is sleeping on the floor

and harrow is woken by the sound of self inflicted pain and torture

harrow gets tired of this and decides to just rip yandere twin's arm off

@lady-harrowhark reminded me that I called this (!!!) in this recap

I had absolutely 100000% forgot I said that but congrats past me!!!

so, there's this scene in which harrow rips yandere twin's arm off and puts a new bone-y one in there, remade with her own parts

like this

some people have told me in the replies that it's a sessual sort of scene, and I get that, I suppose it was the vibe it was going for

total respect to that

but I'm gonna be honest here

it felt like I was witnessing a birth and harrow was the midwife

so harrow lets yandere twin know that she's been improving her necro powers via studying and practicing to try to make up for her being "lyctor lite"

harrow and alleged gideon aka ortus are the only people here that seem to be getting any work done tbh

so now, with the new arm, inner chad can use the sword again

and yandere twin is happy because she's now a proper lyctor and has senior chad aka augustine's approval

harrow is proud of herself for doing nice necro things like chopping and reconstructing arms

as a thanks, yandere twin agrees to help harrow to kill alleged gideon the first aka ortus

nobody asked you, but ok

I actually have no qualms with alleged gideon aka ortus

because he's at least direct and honest about it

everyone here has an agenda, at least this guy's like directly trying to physically kill harrow

at this point, I respect the direct approach

CHAPTER 28

we're back at gideon-less canaan house

canaan house isn't safe in any universe, all the trails lead to death

everyone who's alive or accounted for is having a sleepover

there's a bunch of people unaccounted for, actually

the kiddos from the fourth are allegedly hidden elsewhere

who knows, at this point

I don't trust anyone

there's a fog and rain and water rising still

which reminds me of the movie identity, in which they all were trapped in that motel because it wasn't actually a motel and they weren't actually alive per-se

magnus and abby say that protozoa should have decked mayonnaise uncle

which is one of the reasons why the gideon universe is superior

aside from the presence of gideon and camilla

I miss them so much I'm gonna start biting cavaliers

anyway, where in the hell is duracell bunny nephew???

he wasn't with mayonnaise uncle when he yeeted himself

his soul, which got detached from his body in the gideon universe, is still flying like a balloon across universes and dimensions, I guess

abby didn't expect regina george twin to die, apparently, and says "if she's gone, then perhaps that means..." but doesn't elaborate

nobody ever elaborates

abby also makes harrowbean read another one of the "harrow texts"

I can't keep adding them all together in recaps because this will end up being super long but here goes the new one

my though was that this could be ice cube barbie aka annabel lee, because of the long-lost sun, but I'm unsure still

I don't think the timing fits the other side of the 3d model that's the gideon's mom and rebel leader situation

inconclusive still

abby suggests harrowbean she might be haunted

which might also fit with ice cube barbie??? maybe??? idk

CHAPTER 29

harrow says she doesn't remember shit about chad

get perpetually owned, chad

mercygirl asks harrow things about her necro process for the arm reconstructing and the last thing she asks is "what is the name of the saint of duty?" to which harrow says "ortus the first" and mercygirl goes

me and my "alleged gideon" theory are very happy about this

the hill I will die on

mercygirl continues to use onomatopoeias to express herself

I do not want to think about what that would imply in a later situation I don't want to dig into

"you read unholy omens in the way people say good morning" that's what these recaps are, thank you very much harrow

that's our tagline over here, that's our brand

harrow and yandere twin are having sleepovers so that harrow isn't murdered in her sleep

apparently the nudes are cyrus and his cavalier and yandere twin likes that energy

it's like if you had a university classmate who sent nudes to the groupchat every birthday

yandere twin says augustine the asshole has agreed to help kill alleged gideon aka ortus the first

I don't trust any of these lyctors if they're willing to kill each other this easily

how do I know they've got my back in combat if they don't have each other's backs—

ANYWAY

yandere twin reminisces about not having been apart from regina george twin much in their lives and hoping she's sleeping well wherever she is

I also don't know where she is

yandere twin tells harrow that she was more farsighted than her

which I'm sure she was, but she doesn't seem to remember shit about it, and the letters remain unopened

harrow thinks it's kinda gross that the cyrus lyctor murdered his cavalier to become a lyctor and then took all of their nudes to the emperor's bolthole

none of these lyctors are operating from a place of common sense, harrow

"you were lucky that the memory of your own cavalier did not hurt you—except sometimes in the form of a sick headache in your temples, or in words stuck on repeat in your head"

so, augustine's plan involves dinner

harrow, hearing that, is like this

they look for clothes in the cavalier's things

yandere twin says "valancy trinit was my height, weighed more than both of us put together, and —judging by her portraits— had a body that did not quit"

I sure hope she's a thick girl, because I've had enough disappointment with the gideon cover not letting her have the arms she deserves

ANYWAY, here's the makeover vibes, as previously shared

apparently chad could embroider, which I have to admit is a good quality

hate giving him any props, but I must be fair

harrow painted the less cute skull in her repertoire and we respect that

they went to augustine's room and he's still an asshat

I don't like how he treats yandere twin tbh

I feel like yandere twin has a thing with validation because of how her life has been and he uses that

augustine justifies his betrayal to his fellow lyctor saying that he "caused more pain over these last scant forty years than I dare to admit"

mercygirl is also here for the party, all dressed up

SO HERE'S THE THING

I am so embarrassed I didn't pick it up on the fly and it took me the whole chapter to put it together

augustine tells her "dios apate, minor"

at the time, I didn't remember what it meant, and when I finished reading the thing, I was like "oh, it's exactly like the deception of zeus"

I forgot that's what it was called

I mean, I got the "dios" part, obviously, but forgot the "apate"

my ancient greek professor is going to come back into my life to shoot me at my doorstep

to be fair to myself, it was a long while ago that I took ancient greek

AT LEAST I PICKED THE REFERENCE UP AFTER, OK????

god, I'm so embarrassed

palmolive, I'm so sorry, I promise I figured it out eventually

mercygirl punches augustine in the face, which is great

he insists on it being "minor", which idk where the line is there and I'm not gonna ask

idk which things are or aren't...involved in a minor form of zeus's deception

mercygirl says she's not wearing the right dress, I don't think it matters, it worked just fine

CHAPTER 30

everyone gets drunk except for alleged gideon aka ortus and harrow, because they're the only people in this group project who are doing the work

augustine and mercygirl start fighting about something their cavaliers did back in the day

they start toasting for cavaliers and talking about how "hot pyrrha was"

there is no respect for the dead in the emperor's bolthole

there's about to be something else in the emperor's bolthole in a minute though

I was excited about them drinking, though, because that's when people start spilling some truths

the lost commander of BOE is a "she", her name is/was Commander Wake, she almost killed alleged gideon aka ortus

I'm still spinning with the gideon's mom theory

and the background telenovela I've got going on

BOE found a Herald, killed it and turned it into weapons against these clowns

good for them, tbh, kill these drunk irresponsible bastards

emperor reverend professor doctor john thinks it's narcissistic of him to toast to himself

I want to murder him in cold blood

I hate this man so viscerally I want to rip him apart with my hands

the twist in this book is that I'm gonna reach to his murder and it's gonna be me

it's like bastian reading the neverending story but it's me killing this man

his full name is john gaius but I had been spoiled of his name by people not tagging their posts

he also does a "your mama" joke because he's my villain origin story

"part of your brain temporarily calcified into atheism" I'M GLAD, HARROW

so, they start to make out, all three of them

I finally caught up about zeus's deception and all about here

emperor awful is sandwiched between mercygirl on a table and augustine behind him and they forget there are children in the room

well, not children, but same difference, they're a million years old

harrow and yandere twin get the hell out of that display

CHAPTER 31

yandere twin wants to kiss harrowbean before she leaves to kill alleged gideon aka ortus, but harrow doesn't let her

harrow says "my affections lie buried in the Locked Tomb" to which yandere twin responds "Somebody might even exhume them for you"

when harrow mentioned not wanting to be touched while sleeping beside yandere twin, I remembered the pool hug and all that, that was a nice time

people were being killed left and right but it was a nice time

ANYWAY

harrow has a whole plan and has it all figured out, it's a really good plan, it works very nicely, but alleged gideon aka ortus isn't where they told her he was

sometimes, life works that way

the man you plan to kill isn't in the training room and all

she goes to look for him in not!dulcinea's crypt or whatever

and she sees this

and the spear

she follows the children's hospital trail of blood to the incinerator

alleged gideon aka ortus is inside the fire thingy and not!dulcinea is operating the controls

I wonder who could have predicted that this woman could still be an issue even after death

me, it was me

anyway, no time for I-told-you-so's because harrowbean decides to help him out of there

I'm very happy because I need him alive

he knows things and he's less bad than everyone else around here

because he's upfront about the killing

he tells her some things while he's kind of out of it

like to use blood wards instead of bone ones

that it will make her safe from "us"

"I know you're there. Kill me all you like. I would know you in the blindness of my eyes" he says and, among other things "Just tell me—back then—why you brought along the ba—"

WAS HE GONNA SAY BABY???? WHAT IF HE WANTED TO SAY BABY???

I'm still on my gideon agenda, sorry if it's embarrassing to read

of course emperor dickhead stops him before he can finish it

alleged gideon aka ortus says he doesn't remember shit afterwards and harrow sees her own mental state reflected in his

they can't find not!dulcinea, apparently

she's probably operating heavy machinery elsewhere

harrow is putting up her blood wards when she hears augustine and mercygirl argue about the whole zeus situation

the incinerator alarm apparently interrupted their plan of letting this happen

whether or not they had a hand on the not!dulcinea thing idk

mercygirl says she didn't move her

we end this act with ice cube barbie maybe annabel lee saying "The water is risen. So is the sun. We will endure."

Okay, so I really like Female Silver. (Obviously, I like Male Silver better, but still.) It’s a bit hard to explain, but I like the idea of Lilia trying to raise a sweet, angelic girl and figuring out how to keep her safe while respecting her independence. Here, I drew Lilia catching Silver as she fell asleep. The image isn’t one of my best, but I like it well enough.

Anyway, while I’m here, some headcanons for a Female Silver AU.

*When Silver got her first period, neither she nor Lilia knew what the heck was going on and panicked. Lilia took her to a midwife who—after laughing—explained what was happening. Both were horrified and had trouble understanding that it was natural. (Lilia was then traumatized when he looked at the biology book Silver was given to help understand what was happening to her body.) *While none of the boys were overprotective, they were all very much aware that Silver was beautiful and were cautious around strangers. As such, they’re a bit more defensive of a female Silver than a male Silver, as a pretty female will attract danger more than a pretty male. **Lilia taught Silver to never talk to strangers but never told her why. *The second thing he taught Silver when her chest grew was how to break someone’s arm. The first thing was how to break “hardwood.” *To this day, Lilia never had the sex talk with Silver. He’s tried a few times but, whenever he does, he sees his baby girl and wusses out. **Despite this, Silver is very much aware of sex as they had a burrow of bunnies behind the cottage and, since she can talk to animals, they explained the concept. (Though, as all her information comes from animals, she’s a bit mixed up.) ***On that topic, Silver herself is very curious about sex and relationships. VERY curious. *When Silver first arrived at NRC, people were quite taken with her beauty, however, only a few brave ones approached as others saw her stoic features as ice Queen qualities. *At first, Malleus was confused (and a bit jealous [not for romantic reasons, but that people were approaching her]) when people approached Silver as they acted in a way he wasn’t familiar with. When he discovered what was going on and that Silver was being pursued, he had a mini-freak out. There were thunderstorms, and students were getting struck by lightning—it was chaos till Lilia stepped in and told him to calm the heck down. **Silver was bewildered by the whole experience and still had no idea what was going on. ***On that topic, Silver is still 100 % oblivious to romantic topics. *Malleus still sees Silver as a little girl and is always thrown off when something happens to remind him that she’s a young woman. He honestly has trouble processing it, but when he does, he gets melancholy. *When Silver first arrived at NRC people thought she and Lilia were an item due to how close they were. **They thought the same when Sebek arrived till he LOUDLY rejected the notion. *Lilia tries to act calm and cool, but one time Lilia saw a bruise on Silver’s neck and—believing it was a hickey—obsessed over it for hours, till Silver informed him that she got it while training. Basically, he can pretend to be calm all he likes but that girl more often will send him into panic without knowing it. (Just like Male Silver does.) *Silver finds her long hair annoying, but keeps it as she likes it when her father styles it. (Meta: This is a defense for me as I just like drawing long hair.) *Like her male counterpart, Silver is a strong fighter and hopes to become a knight.

Pregnancy scare headcannons

Hello everyone! Here is part 1 of my pregnancy scare headcannons this time with Chevalier and Clavis. Feel free to request the other princes in the comments!

It was during a time MC and her prince were not even engaged.

MC was pacing around in her room, her period was late, very late. Almost 3 weeks late to be precise.

This had happened before, but it was never more than a week or so. This time, she could really be pregnant.

Well, she had been pretty stressed lately and she knew that her period often responded to stress by being late.

But they have been going at it like bunnies this past month so it wasn’t impossible for her to be pregnant.

The worst is that she had no way to know for sure until around 2 months of pregnancy and right now she could be 1 month pregnant so she’d have to wait one whole month for the midwife to be able to diagnose her.

All she could hope for is for her period to come.

She felt panic submerge her more every second that passed, until she heard the door to her room open.

Chevalier Michel

Chevalier knew all of MC’s little habits by heart. He knew she was late, very late. But he did not worry at all.

This has happened before, never that much but even if she was pregnant, it would not be a big deal.

He was nothing like his father who could not protect his belle. He knew he could guarantee her safety and the safety of their child.

He expected her to be worried about this, so when he did not find her in their usual meeting spot, his library, he knew she would be in her room.

He opened the door to find her in the middle of a panic attack.

She barely noticed him coming in, and he quickly walked to her and grabbed her arm in a gesture that he wanted to be reassuring but came out a bit aggressive and awkward.

“What’s wrong?” he asked her even though he knew very well what was happening. He wanted to give her a chance for her to tell him herself.

She looked away. She didn’t know how he would react to this news.

“Even if you were pregnant, it would not be a problem.”

She looked up at him in surprise. As always, he was able to read her like a book.

“How would it not be a problem! Do you not remember what happened to the previous belle. I have no status to protect me or the hypothetical baby! What if-”

He quickly cut her off before she went deeper in her hypothesis.

“Do you compare me to that pathetic excuse of a father? Are you underestimating my abilities to protect you and our child?”

‘Our child’ saying it felt strangely good, he did not dislike the idea, it’s just that the timing wasn’t ideal.

And he saw it in her eyes, she did not dislike the thought of it either.

She started calming down and he wrapped his arms around her.

She never felt as safe as she did when he hugged her. She closed her eyes, feeling all the stress melt.

And indeed, few days later her period arrived. She was relieved and he simply smiled at her when she told him the news.

He knew he would want a child between them someday, but it was not the time yet.

For now, all he needed was her.

Clavis Lelouch

NB: We know that canonically this scenario is not possible for Clavis but let’s pretend it is.

Clavis knew he wanted as many children with his lover as possible, he did not care for the when and where.

As long as MC wanted this, he did not care.

As he did almost every day now, Clavis barged into his lover’s room without much of a knock.

She usually scolded him for that but today she looked at him in both surprise and panic.

His usual shady smile quickly disappeared as he rushed to her.

“What’s wrong?”

She felt tears coming to her eyes and he hugged her tightly.

He had no idea what or who did this to her but whoever it was, he would make them pay.

She cried for a while, and he just hugged her until she finally calmed down enough to be able to tell him what’s wrong.

“Wait, that’s it? That’s what made you into this state? haha!”

He laughed more in relief than anything else.

“Clavis! This is a big problem! What if I really am pregnant!”

“Then me and you would become parents! I can already see myself with an army of little clavis playing pranks on the whoooole caste!”

MC was relieved to see him so enthusiastic and she couldn't help but smile weakly.

“Or….Is that not something you want?” clavis had a serious expression on his face. If she never wanted to have babies he would not mind at all. The most important thing for him was her happiness.

“I want it too! But not now! It’s too early! Right now whatever kid we have would be illegitimate. I don’t have the power nor the status to protect it and-”

“So that’s the problem!? If so then let's hold our engagement tomorrow and our wedding after tomorrow! With that, you’ll be officially my princess! I’ll talk to Cyran right away and-”

“Wait! No! That’s not what I want! I want you to marry me cause you want it not because I’m pregnant! Plus right now I might not be pregnant at all so let’s wait for confirmation!”

She tried to calm down her lover, knowing very well that he could go through with the idea.

“But I do want to marry you! The baby is just the perfect excuse!”

“That’s not the point and you know it! Let’s just wait, please.” She gave him her best puppy eyes and he could never say no to her anyways.

Regardless, few days later, MC’s period came, much to her relief and when she told Clavis, he felt disappointed but also a bit relieved.

The truth is that he was worried that he would not be good enough to be a father. He was not the strongest, or the smartest. But this whole situation gave him a new insight on his future with MC.

He needed to become stronger and better and more confident in himself, in order to be the best father and husband ever!

The Gaunt Brothers🐍

Childhood

Spoken from Mama & Papa Gaunts POV

Ophelia on Marvolo as a child:

Marvolo was... Difficult... To say the least, I loved him, of course. He was my first born. Difficult birth, too. *chuckles* I always joke that it was like something from a horror novel. The night I gave birth to Marvolo was a dark and stormy one. And when he entered the world and the midwife held him up to me, a flash of lightning lit up the room from outside *chuckles* Very fitting, I would say. Don't get me wrong, he could be a good boy. But he was a mischievous little thing, I always felt like he was plotting, even when he was a baby. Marvolo wasn't a kind child.. He often fought with other children when I would take him out to the park. He was kind to the rabbits in the backyard, though *smiles* He liked them and would play with them. It was the only times he ever seemed at peace and happy. I liked watching him play with the bunnies. Having said that, I had to keep a fairly close eye and watch Marvolo most of the time regardless. As I said..He could be difficult.

Aleister on Marvolo as a child:

Marvolo Aleister Gaunt.. Goodness me, where do I even start? The boy was an absolute pain in the neck. I can't count the many times he gave chest pains. We squabbled regularly because he never listened to a damn word anyone said. It was either Marvolos' way or no way at all. And I couldn't have that. I knocked that out of him as he got a little older..However, I guess in his later teen years he decided to "rebel" *sighs* Can't blame him I suppose *smug grin* My method's were not kind..I guess it's karma though, my mother always said I was the same. The boy takes after me. I do appreciate his love of the dark arts though and other things..I'll give him that. It's the one thing I'm actually rather proud of.

Ophelia on Ominis as a child:

Oh my sweet little cherub *smiles sweetly* Such a good little baby he was, always seemed in deep thought right from the get go. He was so angelic and delicate, needy too, but of course, we can't blame him for that with him being born with lack of sight. It took a lot of getting used to, but he was a good child, I suppose when you're born with such a thing, it's all you know, so Ominis didn't really struggle as such, he did as he got a little older, around 10 I'd say he would get more irritated and annoyed at certain things, before he got his wand which helped him greatly. Anyway, Ominis was such a polite and loving little child, though wary of the world around him...I was very over protective of Ominis, perhaps a little too much, I'm sure Aleister will agree *rolls her eyes but chuckles*

Aleister on Ominis as a child:

Such sensitivity. Molly-coddled he was.. Not by me, of course. He was always very scared of everything as a small child, always crying, throwing little hissy fits and the smallest things, I tried my best to toughen him up, but he never responded well to such treatment. I would say Marvolo was spoiled, but Ominis even MORE so, which I PERSONALLY believe is why he's the way he is now in the present. The only good thing that came out of it is a grew a bit of a backbone, he can be SO vicious with his words, that's probably the most "Gaunt" thing about him *chuckles* I like that about him, though not when he tries to argue with ME *small frown* But yes, as a small child he was always very afraid and sensitive of things. Ophelia will tell you he was angelic, polite, and kind, and I guess he was, in a way. But he could throw the most FOUL temper tantrums, just as his Brother did..
