You can fit everything you know/In a bottle for you to show/Pick your brain apart and put it in/And built it again with needles and pins/Everything you have earned is a ship/With blue waves crashing into it/But nothing can touch your happy thoughts anymore/With your glass ceiling walls and floor

"The song is about trying to hold on to your best parts and memories but instead finding no escape watching them drown with you. The ship in the bottle is supposed to preserve those happy thoughts but as said in the chorus, the water that leaks in submerged the singer and boat both, to the point that the singer is desperate enough to unleash their insecurities and fears (oh captain let’s make a deal / where we both say the things that we both really feel) within the bottle despite it being a place of refuge. The song says there is no hiding from that darkness (I feel scared and I’m starting to sink / and I only sink deeper the deeper I think) and you can try and live a perfect shelf-stable life like that ship in the bottle, but the watery depths will find you anyways."

Poll Runner: This is one of my favourite songs. Ever. Like, I genuinely listen to it almost daily. It's so good. Also, it doesn't feel right to talk about it without recommending this amazing animatic by @/shandzii, it has SUCH good storytelling and I genuinely can't listen to the song without thinking about it. "This is the moment in the musical where Jenna has lost all hope, and she sings about having lost the person she used to be, which I think is very relatable to anyone who has ever been depressed"

"The live version is especially haunting. The shaking and roughness in the voice, the distraught performance. The lyrics being general enough you can apply them to anyone but the feeling still ringing true. It's a painful mourning for ones self. The feeling that you're not good enough while trying to see the good in yourself at the same time. Depression spiral bomb."

Poll Runner: The first song to be submitted that I actually recognised, and by god its beautiful. Emotional climax of a character realising that nothing in her life is what she wants it to be and she has to move on from old dreams. Devestating.

Hey folks! It’s time for a round of Penn has an idea but can’t draw it! ~Animatic edition~

This idea is Casey centered and goes with the song Ship in a Bottle by fin (which is an amazing song btw!!)

The song basically tackles the struggles Casey has about adjusting to the present while also keeping some parts of the resistance secret from everyone (besides the few happy moments that happened).

He feels his anxiety get the better of him, being slightly protective of the others, too tense and wary of everything around, flinching at every sound that echoes in the night.

Because of how many deaths and tragedies happened in the apocalypse, Casey has blocked most of them out, at least until they haunt him in his sleep after he is in the present timeline.

He see’s the piles of dead bodies, the blood seeping from their lifeless flesh as they laid on the debris covered ground. Every face is carved into his brain and he can’t get rid of the images. There’s this longing of wanting to share his nightmares, to have the reassurance that everything was fine, but seeing the turtles being happy and not affected by the total apocalypse of the Krang, he holds himself back.

He doesn’t want to scare the others more than the krang situation already did.

The others slowly realize Casey’s actions and try to help him in the few ways they can, but feels like their efforts are fruitless as Casey waves them off and leaves every time the topic comes up.

Cue in the part where Leo comes through the portal.

Casey feels conflicted about seeing his sensei, he’s happy that he’s alive yet at the same time has grieved and learned to accept that he died. How does a teen deal with that emotional whiplash of seeing someone you thought was dead standing right in front of you?

Reluctant avoidance that’s what.

Casey sticks by Leo’s side for the full part of his recovery but as Leo adapts to the present, Casey is distancing himself not because he wants to, but because seeing his sensei brings back the horrible memories he wants to forget.

Of course Leo knowing Casey all his life, spots this but can’t seem to get an answer out of his student. And it takes being saved after a wild mutant to make the kid talk.

Casey let’s out all his anxieties, fears, nightmares and all the things he’s been holding back, and Leo can see theirs guilt swirling in his kids eyes.

“I’m mad at myself and I hate it-“ Leo let Casey his his plastron, his fist tight and clenched as his emotions started pouring out. “I-I’m mad that the others can have a peaceful life and not have to go through anything we did. I’m mad that I can’t get any sleep because all of the dead bodies and killings keep replaying in my head. I’m mad that I feel like I have to avoid you to not feel like my life is still in danger and that seeing you makes me realize we’re all alone. Our family is dead and we’re the only ones who made it out alive.”

Leo pulls Casey into a tight hug, his arms tightly wrapped around the teen.

“You are never alone Casey. Everyone is watching over us even while we’re still living, and I know that they’re proud of you for making it this far. I’m so proud of you for making it this far and saving the future. I couldn’t have asked for a better student.”

Anata wa hitori janai

Now Casey can’t stop his tears, he hides his face in Leo’s plastron and the older turtle can’t help but hug his student just a bit tighter.

“Everything’s okay Casey. I’m right here. We’re here with you.”

the ship in the bottle animatic has reached like 6 million views rn, which is well deserved of course

so how'd it feel to get that amount of revenue from something you've worked with friends?

The reach is incredible I will say, I'm proud of the work we did. It's wild to me that many people have seen it! It's just the work of a couple of friends and people really love it. It warms the heart

I'm going to put a Read More here because this is going to be long. If you want to use one of these, please tag me. I want to see what you come up with. I'll edit in more when I have more thoughts.

Say My Name (Beetlejuice) Poptropica animatic

Between Rumplestiltskin and The Baron. It has their vibes, and I just can't help but think that would be really neat.

Worlds Smallest Violin Addispam animatic.

It also has the vibes. It would show Spamton before becoming a big shot, with him talking to the other addisons, and walking through Cyber City. Possibly ending with him getting his first customer, and the sped up bit at the end being quick smash cuts through his big shot era to him during the game.

The Moss Deltarune animatic.

Got this idea from eating moss. Could be some smash cuts of what you think happened. The tear soup line could be Dess. Honestly, I just think it would be neat.

Ready as I'll Ever Be Poptropica Astro Knights Animatic.

With the Binary Bard as Varian. The song's lyrics are just so close to actual character interactions, and it would be neat.

Could be about Skullduggery Island. Also Captain Crawfishes totem is a ship in a bottle, so that would be a fun callback.

The lyrics are somehow very similar to the main storyline of the game

Could be between the heros and the Knight.

Just a bunch of poptropica villains. Not sure who would be who but the idea has potential. (Raven would be Friends on the Other Side change my mind.)

Okay, so I finally got around to reading "Cotton Tails and Borrowed Time" by @skellebonez, and I needed to draw Bunny Tang.

Not necessarily a particular scene, I just wanted to draw him. I like how he touches his ears a lot.

Also, I'm not that good at drawing anthropomorphic characters, so Tang does not look too good here.

This is @shandzii's OC, Mariza. Her story is quite compelling, and after I watched her "Ship in a Bottle" animatic, I immediately wanted to make some fanart.

I don't exactly know if the characters on the ship that Mariza interacted with (the two pirates and captain, which are seen in the background) were extremely important to her story, but I feel like she would at least miss them after the incident.

Anyways, go check them out, they have amazing art, and even though I just found their art today, I can see them being an inspiration to me.

President Tubbo and exiled Tommy- thinking of the scene where Tommy is exiled, where Tommy has no one bc he’s being kicked out, and Tubbo has no one bc his entire cabinet is siding against his decision and he just kicked out his best friend. But also just the entirety of Tubbo’s presidency and Tommy’s exile, plus other parts too

1). Halloween Night

That time of the year came around again. The time when the trees outside turn into an assortment of deep reds, hearty browns, and soft yellows. When the stores stock up on aisles of candy and anatomically incorrect skeletons. When all up and down the street, houses are decorated in fake webs and carved pumpkins. As the children outside start making their trek for sweets, you and for F/O(s) are starting on plans of your own. It’s Halloween night after all, and it’s time to have some fun. What are you and your fav(s) doing on Halloween night~? Maybe some trick or treating? Scary movie party? Vandalizing? Just make something based around what you plan to do!

2). Monster Fav/Insert

You and your fav(s) were given a bottle of mysterious purple liquid by a stranger on the streets during a cold, October night. Out of sheer curiosity, someone decided to drink the bottle whole. It didn’t seem to have any effect on them. That was, until later into the night… Your insert/One of your favs have drank a potion and have turned into a monster! What kind of monster are they? Are they friendly or are they more hostile? How do you/your fav(s) react to this? Make something based on what the potion has done to you/your fav!

3). Haunted Mansion

You and your fav(s) have been dared to explore an abandoned mansion that is claimed to be haunted on Halloween night. Feeling brave and daring, you and your fav(s) venture in. Once you step foot into the building, the large doors slam shut behind you, leaving you and your fav(s) in the darkness. You try to open the doors, but it seems like they’ve been locked shut. It looks like you and your fav(s) are stuck in an abandoned mansion for the night. What do you do? Do you go exploring? Do you experience anything strange or find paranormal entities? Make something based on your experience in the mansion!

4).Murder Hotel

You and your F/O(s) managed to plan a getaway to a fancy bread and breakfast style hotel. As you entered, you were greeted by a pleasant gentleman in a fine tailored suit. As he showed you around the house, you discovered it was decorated in a number of quaint antiques. The staff themselves really played up the old Victorian theme in their butler and maid outfits. It was a pleasant night until a scream echoes down the hall. Both staff and guests alike are ushered into the lounge when the doors are locked. A maid announces that the gentleman from earlier has been found murdered. Murmurs and fear spread through the crowd, but her next lines are what chill everyone to the bone: “And no one can leave until we find the culprit.” You and your fav(s) find themselves trapped in a hotel in the middle of a murder mystery! Who seems most suspicious? Who can’t leave their room? How is the murder solved in the end? Feel free to make up whatever story you’d like!
