Frankly speaking, I don't think Neuvillette would be one to initiate a relationship with you, but he will lay it on pretty heavily that he's into you, and will wait for you to figure things out on your own.

Noovy is an absolute sweetheart, and if he's into you, he only becomes more of a sweetheart. He begins bringing you small gifts that he thinks you'll like: a simple necklace he thought suits you. A flower that he saw on the way to the Palais Mermonia. Even small snacks from food vendors that he passes by that he thinks suit your tastes— he never misses an opportunity to get you some gifts.

He begins to dote on you more and more as time goes by. He's careful in his concerns, making sure that it's clear that they come from a place of sincerity rather than with ulterior motives.

"Have you eaten yet?" Neuvillette asks, receiving the papers from your outstretched hand. He's careful to keep his tone neutral, but the furrow in his brows betrays some of his concern. "Oh, no I haven't yet," you tell him, shifting on your feet. "There were some documents that came right during my lunch break, and I wasn't feeling hungry yet so I volunteered to go through them so that Sedene and the others could have their break." Neuvillette blinks at you, staring for just a second, then he's placing his pen down and rising to his feet. You scramble to attention as he rounds the desk, a smile on his face. "Well, we can't have you working on an empty stomach, can we? Come, I'll treat you somewhere. If that's alright with you, of course."

At some point, practically everyone knows that the Iudex of Fontaine is doing his best to court you.

The melusines are some of the first to know, easily picking up on the subtle flush on Neuvillette's face whenever you talk to him or when your fingers so much as brush. They giggle whenever they see you two together, but are still careful to make sure you don't see them. Monsieur Neuvillette wouldn't want them to ruin the surprise now, would he? The citizens of Fontaine are aware of how you've got Neuvillette wrapped around your finger. After all, he's seen most often with you whenever he wanders the city, and it's hard to miss the fond glances he shoots your way, or how he always vehemently insists on covering the bill whenever you both eat out. Once even going so far as to pluck the mora right out of your hand so you couldn't pay! Even Wriothesley, of all people, who lives in a fortress at the bottom of the ocean hears the news that Neuvillette has been courting someone. He comes up to the Palais Mermonia the very same weekend that he hears the news, all just to see Neuvillette practically melt the second you step into the room. Wriothesley grins the entire time like he's watching a particularly entertaining performance, and Neuvillette has never wanted to kick him out of his office more.

oooh, what crunchy questions, anon.

short answer: I think he thinks he's satisfied.

the tl;dr answer: I don't think it's possible for us to know with any degree of certainty how nhs feels about anything post-canon, because the text gives us almost no insight into his interiority outside of wwx's speculation in the aftermath of the guanyin temple sequence. but I think we can make some educated guesses based on what we do know about his character.

rather than just rewrite stuff I've already written on this subject before, I'll drop some links to previous posts that I think are relevant to your ask:

nhs took so long to enact his revenge quest because he could not make up his mind about what he wanted to do. also this one, which includes discussion of his cql performance as well. indecisiveness is as core to nhs's character as his desire for vengeance, and I think that extends to his feelings about his situation post-canon, too.

this is definitely more within the realm of headcanon and speculation but I went deep on this the magnus archives-mdzs fusion reblog speculating on why I think nhs would be an avatar of the hunt, and a big thing about the hunt is that once the hunt is over, the hunters... don't really know what to do with themselves. womp womp.

now on to the point I don't think I've spilt much digital ink on yet:

nhs is, and always has been, a people person. this is extremely obvious when you dip back into the gusu lan summer camp for wayward young cultivators chapters, where nhs is at his most effervescent when he is bopping around the cloud recesses as wwx and jc's bubbly tag-along, lamenting how much lwj and lqr clearly hate wwx while cheerfully offering to give wwx more porn to make up for what he's lost. (it was nhs's porn, too! he'd be justified in being a bit cheesed off about it, but he really isn't!) if he sees a didi-shaped hole in a prospective friends' group, he sees an opportunity to make himself lovably indispensable as the court appointed littlest brother no one asked for, and quite frankly who could blame him? he loves to be spoiled and doted on, but imo there's some clear self-awareness and reciprocity at work in these dynamics that goes beyond a desire just to be pampered and looked after. I suppose an uncharitable read on teen!nhs would be that he's lazy and manipulative and finds easy marks to do the heavy lifting for him so he can sleep and paint and catch birds for his private collection, but tbh I think that interpretation does his character dirty. most people who end up spoiling and doting on nhs in the text are clearly happy to do so and seem to get something out of making life easier for this charmingly incompetent dandy. good for him--and for them!

...and then, post-canon, he is a people person without any people around him. sure, we can presume the existence of some unnamed nie sect subordinates who are stuck dealing with a sect leader who allowed his sect to languish and decline in the years after nmj's death, but I think if any of those unnamed subordinates were inclined to be people nhs could rely on to fill the 3zun and/or wwx and jc-shaped voids in his life, we'd at least know their names. I think it is telling that we don't, and that the last meaningful interaction we see between nhs and the characters who used to be his closest friends in the text amounts to an interrogation. whatever affection wwx used to feel for nhs has clearly withered on the vine and has been replaced by mistrust and suspicion--to say nothing of lxc's dead-eyed silence as soon as he begins to put the pieces together.

also: the last glimpse we get of nhs in the text before he disappears from the story altogether is him picking up jgy's hat and walking off with it. why does he do this? why is this the very last thing we see him do in the story? there are a few different possibilities:

"he's taking the hat to keep as a trophy!" I mean. maybe? I suppose I can't entirely rule out this possibility, but it is the least interesting one to me because it glosses over the complexity of nhs's pre-existing relationship to jgy.

"nhs doesn't know why he picks up the hat and takes it with him. he just does it." this is the idea I vibe with the most because it is most consistent with my read on his character--namely that he is never 100% sure about anything (except what qualifies as good erotica). but I think the part of him that still cares about jgy (it's there! it's tiny and shrivelled and warped by his transformation into the wuxia version of montresor, but it's still there) does not want to see his hat abandoned in the mud and dirt, and also does not want to interrogate his feelings about why he feels that way that closely.

I've been talking about what does/doesn't make someone an artist (or something art) with different people in my life and as a long-time follower of yours from back in the LJ days, I'm interested in your take and that of your followers: When does a creative pursuit become art, or is that just an arbitrary line made by gatekeepers? Is there a difference between art vs craft? Can anybody who creates be considered an artist?

And because I've seen you have to grapple with other anon queries in the past, I'll add that if you prefer not to dive into this or let somebody query your readership this way cause you aren't interested and/or don't want to start a weird precedent, totally understood and no worries. This is just curiosity, and I can easily take a non-response as a response.

I think...well, for me, at least, the question is...a bit broad. It's something you could argue forever, and also...I'm not sure what purpose it serves as a question, other than to get people to talk a lot about art. Which is a great purpose, don't get me wrong, but I come back to, Why are we asking? Are we asking in order to challenge the art establishment, or in order to legislate arts funding, or in order to determine how we support artists, or....? Because if you're asking "What is art" in order to determine what goes in a museum that's very different from asking "What is art" in order to determine whether someone is eligible for an arts grant. And both of these are different from, say, asking "What is art" in the context of an art piece currently causing controversy, or telling someone what they've made "isn't art" because you want to keep it from greater exposure.

And also are we talking about art strictly in a visual sense? When asking this specific question, are we including film, music, writing, performance? If someone sculpts The Thinker, and some guy dresses up as The Thinker and busks in Central Park, is the latter art? Performance art? Merely busking? After all, it takes intentionality and work to achieve, and he's asking for compensation in return.

I know all that is kind of a non-answer, but this is something that people spend their lives on in academia, and the distinction between "art" and "not art" is something that can also be used to hurt people, to denigrate artists or uplift people who might be artist but are, also, assholes. I do generally approach the idea from the point of view of "Why would you say this isn't art" and almost always the answer is either "because I don't like it" or "because I don't like who made it", but that's a conversation, not a definition. And of course there's also a distinction between "why wouldn't this be art" and "why is/isn't this in a gallery" and "why was this created".

IDK, I just feel like I'm not qualified to answer, though in the past when I was younger I probably would have had some confident assertions to make.

thanks for turning on anon asks!! i dont want to get this linked back to my actual account where i try to keep things pretty discourse-free. what i wanted to say is that i really get where yr coming from with the falling into transmasc vs transfem thing??? i find myself going oh no thats a trans woman so shes not gonna like me a lot and then i feel really guilty abt it so its good to know that other transandro bloggers are aware of that whole thing. how do you keep yrself from falling into those thinking patterns?

No problem at all, anon! I understand that this can be a topic that you don't necessarily want. attention. on you. Perfectly valid to keep yourself safe.

This touches on something that I've been realizing more often for myself, though! When you are educating yourself on topics such as transandrophobia, the loud and vocal minority of transandrophobes are likely to speak up in comments and replies of posts doing so, which makes it seem like they're everywhere. Much like vocal transphobes, we must remember that this is a minority; most people may not have even heard of transandrophobia, but I'm sure they'd agree that "trans men experience oppression for being trans men that other trans people don't experience". Because that's common sense.

The other reason I find myself falling into that pattern is the centering of trans women in these transandrophobia discussions. A lot of it ends up with people arguing if transmisogyny is worse or not, and I think that misses the entire point. But if you see these transandrophobes going on and on about trans women having it worse (and some of those people being trans women themselves who are lashing out for whichever reason), you're going to start connecting transandrophobia and trans women.

Which sucks. It really fucking does. The brain is equipped to notice patterns, and it's going to emphasize in accordance to how transandrophobes emphasize.

So how do I personally stop this from happening?

I follow trans women. Feels like a no-brainer, right? But recently I realized I was not following any trans education that was run by trans women, mostly because I had been scared of researching into the blogs themselves in case I found bigotry towards trans men, and I am not in the business of digital self-harm. If anyone has any good blogs feel free to drop them here, and I'll reblog!

If I feel myself getting incensed, I step back If you find yourself getting really mad, step back and ask yourself: - Where is this anger coming from? (At transphobia or has it been construed somehow?) - Where is this anger directed? (At transandrophobes, or at trans women?) - Who has posted this? (TERF psyops do exist, and if a blog is posting inflammatory content, they might be baiting you) - Is this user in the same circle as other transandrophobes? (There was a ring of particularly nasty transandrophobes that I blocked for mocking trans men and suggesting corrective sexual assault, and I have not found as many since)

Go to irl queer spaces. While this is not going to be a solution for everyone, I find stepping offline and talking to irl trans women is beneficial. Make friends with trans people! This discourse is so terminally online, and the only reason I participate in it is because I do what I can irl and therefore my only contribution is not arguing over discourse.

I also interact with other trans men who are normal about trans women as well. I hope this helps! Media literacy is good to practice, and I'm proud of you for owning up to something very hard, anon.

Hey, you don't need to reply to this, but I happened to see your tags about fandom shitting extra on Cazador because he's Asian and... Basically as an Asian woman I agree. If he looked like Castlevania's Dracula, there'd still be people on their knees for him and making excuses like "oh well I hate Astarion" or something weak like that. There's no other real point to this other than I felt those tags deep in my soul lol

I'll reply, because I like thoughtful discussion. For the curious, Anon is talking about the below tags I wrote on my reblog of this post:

Granted, there are still people who have the hots for Cazador... which is what it is, really - YKINMK. But there are considerably fewer so than, say, Abdirak or He Who Was or Nere who all have a similar body type and vibe but who I've seen have a bigger fanbase. People also tend to talk about them like they're badasses - as opposed to Cazador, whom they speak of as if he's weak and non-threatening - even though Cazador has done more horrifying things for much longer than either of those other characters (though maybe except for He Who Was? Not sure what his deal is.).

And I really have to conclude that it's at least partly because Cazador is Asian-coded. Sure, his voice is slimy and thin, but that's true of any of the villain-ish characters I've noted. Put Cazador in Nere's or He Who Was' outfits and vice versa, or switch around their voices, and I guarantee the fandom would still shit on Cazador and call the white character sexy and intimidating.

Asians are perceived as weak and unmanly and timid and non-threatening. I see more discussions about Cazador being "just some guy" or a "disappointment" after Astarion had built him up to be a monstrous person, but that's exactly what Cazador is. What makes him "just some guy" or less threatening than many of the other lithe and thin villains in the game? What makes Cazador a joke? The only other villain I can think of that gets a similar "he's just some guy" treatment is Lorroakan, who is literally a fraud and a wannabe. Meanwhile, Cazador has built up a bank of 7000 victims over the course of 200 years, leaving them to absolute neglect and starvation. He has routinely tortured seven people whom he calls his "children", up to and including starving them, flaying them alive, and forcing them into sexual slavery. Which is genuinely not even half of the horrifying things he has done. Cazador is terrifyingly evil.

The thought that Cazador is presented as "just some guy" or a "little weakling" to drive home the fact that abusers and evil people can be just anyone is a valid and compelling one. But I also have to keep asking why looking at him makes people think he's weak. Again, all things being equal, I don't see what's so different about him from many of the other villainous characters that are spoken about with more gravity.

There is an inherent racism in seeing Asians and Asian-coded characters as less manly, less appealing, and less threatening. It's everywhere in media and public perception, and the BG3 fandom is no different.

Can't you just see him doing some Mission Impossible nonsense and tearing down the entire banister? Or causing a small but highly damaging fire in the kitchen?

However, it will be outdone in coming chapters. Rest assured of that.

Tom

Well. Okay, aside from the obvious. He's definitely that kid who won't just take your word for it; he has to touch the hotplate to know it burns. Has to feel the blade to know it's sharp. A lot of going stone cold silent as his father yells and his nan quietly looks for a bandage.

I think, if you asked his parents or friends, it would be his inexplicable mood swings.

But readers spend a lot of time in his head, so I think it seems a lot more understandable from that angle, lol.

He requires you to clarify yourself, literally, if he takes issue with anything you've said or otherwise wants you to reconsider.

It's probably not always purposeful; I do think he can struggle with subtext. Sometimes it is purposeful, and he's being difficult on purpose. Perhaps it's a lingering habit from childhood, where he usually could not pick up on subtext at all.

50. A memory they’ve blocked out

Hey, they have no recollection of tying Ron to that lamppost during the winter storm. He probably did that himself, the little squealer.

Harry

He has—with above-average success—ignored many memories relating to his gay attraction LMAO.

When he says (I think in Ch. 4?) that he's quite sure he isn't gay, let me be cleary: he is eyeball deep in denial.

He does know he's gay by that point. He knew it for years. He's just masterful at repressing that little voice inside his head.

Tom

His memory is extremely sharp, '99th percentile' sort of sharp. But I still think he manages to block out quite a bit of ages 10-13 alsjdlfkj 💀

I think he can remember it all if he wants, but he does have some very selective blockers covering up to months of time: portions of his trial, his nan and aunties crying, several of the mandatory therapy sessions he went to, the works.

Most of all, I think he really blocks out any memory of Harry during this time, to the extent he can barely remember him being at the trial at all.

I would argue this is where he varies the most from canon!Voldemort. For me, it's not the limitless twinkiness, nor even the capacity for romantic obsession, that makes LS!Tom fundamentally different from Voldemort. It is his ability to compartmentalize, and move on.

So, I was reading the tags of a post you reblogged (something about being 34 with an AO3 account being cringe or whatever) and you say you're 48? Like 48 years old? Or I'm misunderstanding? Either way my first thought was, I agree with the comment implying that 30+ adults are a large part of what keeps fandoms alive, and my second thought was holy crap! I didn't know I actually followed someone in fandom who is older than me. Maybe that's silly bc I follow soooo many people, there's no way we're all the same age, right, like duh but I just got really excited about it. It felt like an "ah ha!" moment, like the difference between knowing something like a fact you read in a book yrs ago and knowing something from living through it (if that makes sense 🫠) and I just wanted to say Hi! I am indeed 48 years old!

I haven't been active in fandom for long because in my country (Portugal) Fandoms weren't a thing...

At least not that I was aware growing up.

I've always had my little stories in my head and I had two cousins with which I'd "trade off" daydreams and story ideas... But nothing more.

My actual contact with internet and social media was only after 2003. A whole 7 years after I was married.

By then I had already allowed my dreams to be smothered... By my ex... By society... By myself...

It took me getting a divorce in 2012 to get into Fandom as a way of escaping my own feelings of failure and inadequacy.

And you know who helped me find the courage to write?

My older son. 16 at the time...

Fandom is for everyone.

For the older generation that built it and love it.

For the younger generation being introduced to it, finding community in it, finding themselves in it...

I welcome everyone into this little corner of my world on Tumblr... I'll be here if you need me. I'll be just here, in the background when you don't.

Summary: One too sure, the other not that much. One focused on the present, the other too stuck on the past and afraid of the future. Both of them in love with each other.

"It's so obvious... it's embarrassing..." you complain for the tenth time. Haru had no further comment to make on the conversation, but just calmly drank her beer.

"Just admit that you're jealous. It's not a crime, you know?", she's too busy looking for Jin to notice your frown.

Jungkook arrived a little later than the other members and you could see that he had gone home to change. His hair was way too neat for someone who had been dancing for hours. He was wearing his usual black outfit that looked way too good on him for your taste. The girl who had literally been following him literally since he arrived seemed to love his outfit as well, because she touched his chest at least four times since you started counting. You weren't jealous, of course. Of course I wasn't. Why would I be jealous? He's not your boyfriend anymore. It's just that this girl... she didn't seem like a pleasant person. She kept grabbing others' chests.

Jungkook didn't seem to mind her touch at all, though he could be seen looking around far too many times. What was he looking for? Could it be you? No. He was probably still mad at you, even more so after you texted him earlier to tell him to back off. Haru laughed because he liked the way you reacted to Jungkook and the girl. Maybe that could motivate you to do something other than cry when he wasn't around.

"I'm not jealous, Haru!"

"Yeah, tell that to your face," Haru patted your shoulder and stood up. "I'll go talk to Jin if you'll excuse me," she grins and fixes her clothes.

You're ready to say something about her and Jin, but you pause when you see Jungkook bow to the girl and reject the drink she offers him, pointing to his own. Always a gentleman. Fucking great, you think. After two shots, a beer and many glances at Jungkook and the bitchy girl, you're ready to go to bed when Jimin approaches you. You've missed him.

Jimin actually manages to distract you by telling you all the things you've missed since he last saw you. About the new songs, his collaborations and Namjoon's new project. He's a lovable guy, you think to yourself. Much more lovable than a certain boy who let anyone touch his chest for no reason. Jimin notices your glance in the corner and realises very quickly what's going on. He can't help but chuckle, amazed at your reaction and Jungkook's inability to pretend he doesn't like being stared at by you. Jimin actually heard the conversation between Jungkook and the girl. Jungkook was telling her about a friend who broke up with his girlfriend but was too in love to let her go. A funny story. Apparently too funny, since the girl kept laughing and touching him, and Jungkook didn't seem to mind. He had a plan and it worked. As you end your conversation with Jimin, he hugs you and assures you and Jungkook would be okay somehow, even though he didn't bring up the subject once in your conversation. Jimin is too good for his world, you're sure.

"YN?", you hear the voice you love the most call out behind you, and you turn around. Jungkook looked even better up close. And he smelled even better, too. But why is he smirking at you? "You look like you're about to bust a vein. You alright?", he points at your forehead and sits down where Jimin is sitting.

"Yup" you finish the rest of your drink and slam the cup down on the counter, startling Jungkook a little. "I'm fucking fine."

The girl continued to look at Jungkook from a distance, completely ignoring you standing right next to him. Wow. You look to Jungkook who is too busy admiring how pretty you look to pay attention to your dagger look at him.

"Good to see you could make it. You seem to be having a blast" you signal to the girl on the other side, who is annoyingly still looking at him. Jungkook looks in the direction you're drawing with a confused face.

"What do you mean?"

You chuckle and reach for another beer that's right in front of you. How many have you had? You really couldn't count.

"You're so oblivious. "

"Oh, come on. Don't worry about her. We're just friends," Jungkook gives you his bunny smile and tries to lighten the mood, but it's no use. "How can you be friends with her when I've never seen this girl once in my life, Jungkook?! Who is she?"

Jungkook laughed even harder, enjoying all your reactions. "Are you jealous of me? Seriously?", he can't control his laughter right now, but you don't see where the fun is. Jungkook pokes you in the side, making you yelp.

"Stop that! And you're naive if you think she just wants to be your friend," you bark back, giving her your scariest look, but Jungkook couldn't be less interested on her. To be honest, he didn't even remember the name the girl just said to him."

You're jealous, aren't you?"

"I am NOT jealous, Jungkook! I'm being absolutely reasonable. I just don't like the way she looks at you, that's all.", you stand up and get ready to leave.

"Where are you going?", he holds your hand and keeps you in your seat.

"I feel dizzy. Need air."

"I could make you feel better." Jungkook grins, stealing the color from your face and the air from your lungs. You must be hallucinating, or Jungkook had too much confidence in your ability to not jump him right there. Or maybe it was both.

"How much did you drink, Jungkook?" you looked at his cup, trying to defuse the situation, but Jungkook grinned, showing you his cup.

"This is soda." the look on your face is priceless. "I'm sober as a judge, babe."

Why did he do that? Why was he flirting like that? And why didn't you stop him? If you let Jungkook do this, things will only get worse. You've already hurt him enough to keep this back and forth going.

"How could I make you jealous, YN?" he asks genuelny. "I melt when you say my name."

Jungkook takes a step closer and lets you take the next step. He won't touch you unless you ask him to. There's only so much he can tease and so much he can take if you reject him again. You take a step closer, which makes his heart beat way too fast. So fast that Jungkook actually thinks you can feel it right above his shirt. He rests his forehead on yours and suddenly it's just the two of you. Just like it was before. The rest of the world ceases to exist. It's just you and him now. And it1s all he needs. Jungkook leans over, grabs your chin, and tilts his head to kiss you, but you pull back.

"I...we...", you shake your head, searching for the words, but they have disappeared with the rest of the world. "I can't do this.", you walk away and run out of the house. Jin and Haru are too busy talking and laughing to notice.

Jungkook quickly ponders whether to let you run away or chase after you. Before he could decide, he was already running out the door.

"Yah! Wait a minute," he chases after you. You're staying at Haru's house, where are you even going? Jungkook reaches you without any problem, holds your hand and brings you to a stop. "Wait.", he tries to catch his breath and prays that you don't run away again. "I'm sorry for trying to kiss you. It wasn't appropriate," he touches your shoulders and tries to get you to look at him. "I'm sorry."

You just want to hug him, but you hold back. This is what happens when you let things get out of control. And again, you're making Jungkook feel bad about something that isn't even his fault.

"None of this is your fault, Jungkook," your eyes fill with tears as you avoid his gaze.

"YN, what's going on?", Jungkook keeps his hands on your shoulders and holds you in place. "Tell me what's going on, babe," he pleads.

Where to start? There's something very strange and very dark about someone asking you what's wrong, and there are so many things you can start with. You think of so many approaches, so many ways to start the conversation, to start your confession, but you can't find one. There's no point. Nothing would change whether you told him or not. You'd only make it worse. You always do.

"I'm okay, don't worry," you look him in the eye and try to smile. "I'm just really tired... you don't have to worry, really," you wink at him, but Jungkook isn't convinced. You've done it again. Avoid. Running away. For a second, he thought you'd given up on that. Jungkook nods and lets go of your shoulders.

"You're still not used to normal, huh?" he says bitterly.

"Normal?"

"Yeah. Still not used to people caring about you." he stopped smiling. He just seemed... tired.

"Jungk..."

"No. It's okay, YN. I won't pressure you," he shrugs. "I just wanted to know if you were okay."

"I am.", you force yourself to smile again, but your cheeks are shaking so much that you can't hold it for long. "I'm sorry", you stare at the floor.

Jungkook says nothing for a while before deciding to break the silence. "For what? Why are you sorry?"

"For everything," you confess, "My default is self-destruct, Kook. And the most complicated part of your life was me... I'm sorry for everything. I feel like you wasted your time because of me. I owe you so much..."

"You don't owe me anything," he states firmly. What kind of way is that to talk? "Yeah, maybe your default is self-destruct and yeah, you are a little complicated," he laughs lightly, "but I liked the complicated parts too, you know?"

You lift your gaze from your feet and look at him.

"Really?"

Jungkook smiles at you again and nudges you lightly on the shoulder. "When have I ever lied to you?"

Jungkook looked so beautiful but sad at the same time. But he still gave you a warm smile. Why was he  like that? Why couldn't he just hate you? That would make everything easier for him. For you. You close your eyes and try to hold back your tears, but you can't anymore. Your body starts to shake, overwhelmed by the fact that you tried to hold back the tears for so long. Jungkook doesn't say anything, he just moves closer to you and hugs you tightly. So tight that for a moment, you think you hear his heartbeat.

You don't know how much time passes, but it seems like a lot, because people on the street start to stare. Jungkook notices this too and holds you a little bit tight, just in case.

"I should really be going." he says softly, still not letting go of you. "I won't ask anything else tonight, I promise. But I need to ask you something," he waits for you to nod your head.

"I need you to be okay, YN. 'Cause I can't bear the thought of you not being." he holds you close and strokes your hair, scared you're gonna leave again. Scared you'll leave him. "Don't close yourself off to the world, okay? You and I know you tend to do that when you're sad... Even when things don't go the way you want them to. Don't cry alone, don't get sick alone, and take care of yourself. Can you do that for me?"

You nod again, unable to speak, as Jungkook gently lets go of you. He fixes his clothes and lets you dry your tears. He's ready to ask Jin if he was ready to go. He has no idea that Jin is too busy listing all his favorites recopies to Haru, who seems far too interested in the subject. Haru couldn't even boil an egg.

"Hey," Jungkook calls attention to himself once more before turning to leave. "You don't have to be jealous of her, you know. Or of anyone, for that matter. None of them can hold a candle to you."

What made you ship it? I wouldn't be able to say exactly what it was. I think I've been lowkey shipping them since forever, then at some point I started warming up to Omegaverse AUs (in the sense that I've always loved ABO but my head had to sort of "make it work" in a DC superheroes situation), and at that point I was like YES, OMG Y E S. Especially because of Damian's clear-as-day crush on Dick.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Dami is a possessive little shit, and Grayson is his. Dick in skintight suits was surely his sexual awakening and his first crush, and I can easily see how the little demon would fixate on the idea that as soon as he's old enough, he and Dick are supposed to be together. In an ABO situation it works even better, especially when Dick is an Omega and Damian and Alpha because it validates the aforementioned mental process - "after I present me and Grayson will be together as mates". Dick meanwhile is there smiling like "he's a kid, he'll grow out of it sooner or later". No he won't :) (and also, I don't think Dick would ever be able to tell Damian no in whatever circumstance which makes it even juicier, intermingling with Dick's sense of shame and inability to resist when someone pressures him into something, which is something that Bruce took advantage of for Dick's entire life) If we're talking about a Reverse!Robins situation it also works amazingly. (I know, I know. I a lot of people hate the whole reverse!robin thing. "Damian shouldn't even be called Robin because that's a Dick Grayson thing!", "Stephanie makes no sense as Red Hood because she wouldn't care about Batman not avenging her!" LISTEN!!! I know. You are correct. However it is FUN to imagine the batkids with their ages reversed and their roles blurred, especially for shippy reasons, therefore I do not give a fuck ♥ Love you) Like imagine adult, bitter, troubled Damian finding the light of his life in this kid who lost his parents in such a gruesome way, having to teach him and guide him, be his mentor and his moral compass, in turn learning how to work his own skewed sense of justice. Imagine adult, touch-starved Damian having his heart beating so fast when this kid hugs him and falls asleep in his arms, needing comfort and giving so much warmth at the same time. Imagine stone-hearted, disillusioned Damian experiencing so much wonder at seeing this kid grow up and treat him like the most wonderful, precious human being that ever existed, even if Damian perceives himself as cold, unforgiving and unlovable. And when this special, one-in-a-million kid starts blushing every time they take their suits off, and getting clingy and jealous or anyone who buzzes around Dami, and obviously feeling for Damian something which is not just brotherly love, well. At that point what is even Damian supposed to do - Dick is his everything, and he wants to keep being Dick's everything in return.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Probably what I just wrote, meaning that I normally prefer the ship when it's a Reverse!Robins situation (but I like it in any form anyway)

Most of, if not all, the artwork/moodboards I’ve seen for TYP have miss mouse as white, I think that’s why the other anon ask might have asked that. Not your fault, or even the fault of the individual people who made any of the art. People make how they see her, or maybe they’re in a way self inserts. Collectively though it does paint a specific picture.

i see! as the author, i do my due diligence to never describe miss mouse in any particular way; race, skin tone, weight through him being able to pick her up, cheeks being red, eddie being able to run his hands through her hair, or even implying how long her hair would be. i also never include skin in the headers i make above the chapters for that reason. though, i have explicitly written her to be shorter than eddie, but otherwise, i try to be as mindful as possible so everyone can enjoy this story.

i have no control in how artists want to draw her, and as you said, they are in some ways (usually) a self insert. if someone spends their time making me art, i will always reblog it because i am beyond grateful that someone out there read this story, and went through the effort to gift me art in return for some words on a page, and bringing my story to visual life.

i hope seeing how others depict her wouldn't deter people from giving the story a chance, because i've never described miss mouse, and likewise i hope answering this doesn't discourage any of the artists who have been so kind to give me art for drawing her how they visualize her personally.

not sure if i'll leave either of these asks up. i guess, from my end, there's a lot i don't share on here publicly, but more writers have me blocked than you think just because i'm vocal about how their fics are white-coded, and spoken up about it, and shared resources on how to avoid it with them in private, but that didn't go over well. /shrug. i'm rambling at this point. in summary: i hope people don't think *i'm* writing miss mouse with any implied race, and i hope the artists reading this don't feel hurt for drawing her their way.

Don’t worry about answering this is you don’t want to. I know you don’t like fandom wank. But, if you feel like it, do you think someone could make those endpoints work? Bran as king and Jon at the Wall even though there’s a big old hole in it and Dany deliberately burning King’s Landing before Jon or Arya kills her, is that an ending any writer, no matter their skill, could sell to the hardcore fans? I don’t think the fandom would accept it even if GRRM wrote it.

lololol I deleted my post already anon, so for those of you who didn't read it - I was once again whining about how d&d fucked up the last bunch of seasons and every character. it's not a new take, just something I was high thinking in the shower, so I deleted it bc it wasn't productive.

But I'll answer this, because I think it's interesting.

In short - no.

(Beneath the cut for a longer explanation and just a whole bunch of my ranty thoughts. pls remember I am no asoiaf scholar and I haven't studied every aspect of the books or read every meta. These are just my opinions.)

Longer - at this point, too much time has gone by, there is literally no way George can please... probably even half of his fanbase, no matter what he does. From what I can tell, the fandom too divided and there's so much hatred between stan groups (which I do find ridiculous, but it is what it is). People have cemented their own ending in their heads after decades of the fandom existing without an official ending, and I can see a lot of them not liking that they're wrong. Some people have spent 30 years with their theories, it's sunk cost fallacy. Case in point, the show ending being written off as fanfiction by a lot of fans.

which, tangent, I get. I GET why d stans don't believe the ending, because it was so poorly executed. I truly do understand their denial, because the show gaslit the audience for soooooo long that she was the girlboss hero and then seemed to do a 180 at the end. What was that post I just reblogged the other day? I don't hate villains, I hate when the narrative tries to convince you the bad person is actually good.

now, you asked if anyone could make those endpoints work, but I don't actually think most of them are the real endpoints? I think they were D&D giving up and not trying, or going for Shock Value™. But for fun, I'm gonna go by endpoints I think are most to least likely, and my thoughts on how they could happen and how D&D fucked them up.

Bran as king: Confirmed by grrm. How he'll make this work, I have no idea. I genuinely didn't see it coming tbh. I thought the "bittersweet" ending would be Jon being forced to take the crown in KL. like it's a good ending for everyone else, but for him it's misery. I'm sure grrm has his plans, and I'd be interested to see how he pulls it off. This end point does not disappoint me and I'm not mad at being wrong, but I can see a HUGE swath of people HATING it. specifically D stans.

D&D blew this hard. They cut Bran out of an entire season, making him seem to the audience like a lesser character and not important. They made him a robot. Why am I rooting for show!Bran? Also, I will never, ever get over that line - who has a better story than Bran the Broken? I don't know Tyrion, literally everyone else?? JON DIED AND CAME BACK TO LIFE. ahem.

(as far as I'm aware, Bran as king is the only ending grrm has confirmed?? correct me if I'm wrong.)

D as the big bad: I guess grrm hasn't officially confirmed this, but... he's sort of confirmed it, riiiiight? He compared dragons to nuclear weapons. The show has her as the villain (poorly executed or not). When I gave hotd a shot, literally the opening lines were about the Targs bringing themselves down immediately after name dropping her. Seems pretty solid to me. D&D just refused to commit to her villain arc because they didn't want to alienate their audience that they'd gaslit into thinking she was the hero, and they were seemingly obsessed with Shock Value™ twists.

Dany burning KL: I think the burning of KL is going to happen, and it seems like Dany is the only one to really do it? Unclear how it will happen, I'm sure people have theories. What the show didn't have was Aegon, so who knows how he'll factor in.

Arya sailing west: I think there's a lot of foreshadowing for it. It fits her nature. I think this is very likely to happen and I guess D&D handled it ok. They did ruin her character, though, by making her a literal mass murderer. But yayyyyyy feminism I guess.

Theon sacrificing himself for Bran: Theon's was the only arc I think the show did well. They ruined it at the end by having Theon literally throw himself onto the Night King's sword, which was so fucking stupid, but the arc itself is poignant and fits his character. While he can't ever redeem himself to Robb, he can redeem himself to Robb's siblings, and considering he once pretended to kill Bran, I think this is solid.

Cersei and Jaime dying together: this was my theory even before the show ending, and I think it fits their characters. They cannot live without each other, no matter if they hate each other. They're too deeply entwined in each other. Now, I personally wanted Cersei to be taken captive and put in the black cells to be publicly burned later, and then Jaime shows up and mercy kills her and then himself bc he can't live without her.

But I guess getting bonked on the head by some avoidable rocks is also a way to do it

Sansa as QitN: I'll be honest and say I hated this ending because she ended up alone. Sansa, who has wanted nothing more than family and safety since book 1, ends up completely alone. Even Brienne, her sworn shield, leaves her. but she's a queen, so yayyyy feminism I guess.

I can see her as queen, but I can also see her ending up as queen regent for Rickon, because I'm not totally convinced Rickon dies? like in the show he just randomly shows up and gets captured by Ramsay and it just feels like that isn't his arc in the books. Maybe I'm wrong. But I could see D&D having the endpoint of Sansa as regent, but they killed Rickon off already for Shock Value™, and so they went oops! and made her queen.

Now, there is a part of me that thinks she will not be queen or queen regent, because how does one break off and declare independence from their own brother? Feels like that would destabilize his rule and not give people much faith in him. It just seems really strange to me, but I guess it could happen, since Northern Independence is such a huge theme and it would be weird if it didn't happen?? Does Bran just let her secede? And it doesn't make Dorne or the Iron Islands try.... That's the part in the show that literally did not make sense to me. Sansa was like bye, I'm taking the north, and no one else spoke up about that.

I'd be totally fine with her as queen (if she has someone!!) but I can see a gooooood chunk of the fandom absolutely hating this. surprise.

Brienne as Kingsguard: while I like it for narrative purposes, because she deserves it, I just can't see her leaving Sansa, if she becomes as close to Sansa as she does on the show? If Sansa is queen, I could see her as Sansa's Queensguard. But what does she have in KL? The south didn't ever respect her, why would she want to go back. I think D&D put this in so they could have the ending shot of her writing in the book about Jaime for the shippers

Jon at the Wall: the only reason he went to the Wall in the show was because Grey Worm demanded it? And then left. So. You know, real enforceable. So stupid. Genuinely the worst writing of all the endings, I think, the logic made zero sense there. Now, that could be because they'd written themselves into a corner, but knew Jon ended up at the Wall, and had to force it?

But to me, it's like - what was the point of his resurrection, then? In the show, he doesn't even kill the Night King (we'll get to that). He kills D, sure, but... He's also the reason she succeeds in Westeros to begin with. So what, he gets resurrected, causes havoc, fixes the havoc he caused, and then is sent away to a Wall that serves no purpose anymore? WHAT PURPOSE DOES THE WALL SERVE. The Others are defeated, there's a big ol' hole in it, and they've allied with the Free Folk to an extent. How does the Watch continue on?

I guess he could self-banish. I know the show sort of makes the implication that he goes off with the Free Folk, but in the books, he doesn't really like FF culture? He's appalled by a lot of the violence in it. I can't see him wanting to live that way.

Brai.me: don't get me wrong, I like Brai.me. I think it's cute, in fanon. In canon, I think Brienne is too good for him. I don't see their relationship going romantic or sexual. I think Brienne is who Jaime desperately wants to be (but Cersei is who he keeps being pulled back to). Them having sex was 100% for the shippers

Jo/ner.ys: I'm putting all the punctuation in that. don't need them finding me somehow. Anyway. I don't think this happens, at least not as a true romance. They're on opposite continents and there's not a ton of time left, but more than that - and I know I've said this before - I can't see Jon "hates seeing people burned alive" Snow falling in love with D "loves to burn people alive" T. Could it be a political thing? Maybe, but I also could see her having an alliance with Aegon.

I think there's 2 possible reasons for this being in the show and presented as an actual romance. 1) it was supposed to be that pol!Jon theory, but they chickened out (same with jonsa & a love triangle, I think they chickened out bc of the incest. I think now with hotd being incest central and fans loving it, they wouldn't balk anymore). 2) just the spectacle of it? people have been theorizing this for years, why not give it to them? see above, brai.me

Tyrion as Hand: bleh. I know the fandom loves him and he was clearly D&D's fave, but grrm has said Tyrion is the most morally gray character, and I can't see him letting Tyrion get everything he's always wanted, you know? People think asoiaf is grimdark, but I can't imagine grrm punishing Jon with banishment while giving Tyrion a cushy position with lots of power.

I've read the theory that Tyrion ends up at the Wall, which I like thematically, but again, WHAT PURPOSE DOES THE WALL SERVE. Is it just a penal colony at that point?? someone smarter than me, tell me.

Grey Worm & Missandei condoning/encouraging D: hated it. Take the only characters of color to have speaking lines (i'm 99% sure) in the last season and turn them vengeful and murderous (especially grey worm). Throw their characters under the bus to absolve D of blame

Arya killing the Night King: no. he doesn't exist in the books, first, and even in the show it made zero narrative sense. It was just a Shock Value™ twist. Alright, so what now? (FAQ kinda sorta)

As, I've said before, the character poll brackets, as I've been posting them, are no longer going to be made for this blog. The process is long and requires such constant upkeep that it's been a big portion of my free time for the last few months and I want to start putting that time elsewhere. I think this is a good end point anyway.

What does no more brackets mean? Firstly, we aren't accepting new character suggestions for a sixth bracket. The inbox will still be wide open but any asks wondering when we'll add Backdraft to the polls will be quietly deleted. I know there are characters we missed but I simply do not have the energy for a sixth bracket. Second, the polls that we do post now will not be tracked. If a character wins a poll, good for them, but they're not moving on to any extra rounds.

Is the blog dead now? No, I do still want to post My Hero Academia related things to this blog but posts will be much more sparse from here on out.

What will you post now that the brackets are done? Remember our one off bonus polls? Yeah, we're going to keep doing those! One off popularity polls of who the best character is under a set theme like 'Best Calvary Battle Team' or 'Best OVA'. Just fun, week long, MHA centered, polls that aren't limited to only two characters or only minor characters like the brackets were. We could even do more silly polls like the AFO vs Miku one.

Can I give you a bonus poll idea? Absolutely! You can send suggestions to my ask box or Tumblr DMs, just a theme is fine but if you have specific characters in mind be sure to tell me. I'll probably keep options for these polls in the 5-8 range but we can go as far as tumblr lets us.

Can I steal the bracket format? Since I'm no longer planning to make underrated character brackets, you are more than free to swipe the idea for characters I missed or for different fandoms. Go for it! I'll even shout you out if you tag me on any up and coming brackets to help get you some traction.

So, about manga spoilers... I've kept this blog relatively spoiler free (trust me for some characters that was NOT easy) but as we go into random silly fun polls I might be a bit more lenient on spoilers, especially when season 7 eventually starts airing. If I post anything that includes spoiler images, characters not introduced in the anime yet or if just the fact that these characters are grouped together is a spoiler, I will tag the post with #mha spoilers and #mha manga spoilers. Please keep that in mind if you don't already have those blocked.

Definitely issues within the different communities on here including the OC community in the past few years for different reasons like stealing ideas etc and having all these people come forwards saying they had been stolen from and they'd been saying it for a long time but they were constantly told to basically shut up because the instigator had a huge following and influential friends. The person in question was part of a group of people who held hierarchy here once but the thing is a good percentage of them were fine, they didn't act like they were the hierarchy. It was others who made them like that through perception and the way they treated those people wanting their attention etc. It was the minority who abused the position they found themselves in.

However I feel the OC community is now currently dead in the water because that hierarchy has been dissembled, and it shows how much we gathered around them as an epicenter. They dictated trends for fandoms and what we made OCs for etc. There is people trying to form a new hub by making challenges etc but it feels like flagging a dead horse. Plus some of them have bad rep for just courting so called popular people. You can't build community that way but I think they're making the effort now to be better and make a difference.

A few people in the hierarchy who I admired well their true colours show now like hate reading fic etc. I still can't believe they believed their own hype to the point they thought they were superior to other creators on here. Also the person who stole from so many people. That was really bad. Another person I admired would get upset if a new 'contender' emerged whose amazing edits and ideas would naturally get attention. They would openly say how upset they were at this, say they saw this other person as a rival and anyone who sent this rival asks was a backstabber and it was up to the rival to comfort and reassure them and downplay their own talents to be accepted. This person was then applauded for being vulnerable and open? Like what? You rip down this other creator passive aggressively resulting in them crawling on their belly to appease you and offer comfort, as if THEY did something wrong. Again this was a person I really admired once. But talent doesn't make them good people.

Fandoms are the same there is all these toxic elements. I would just love to enjoy the view and share my stuff and other people's stuff. But people only want to like stuff for some reason. I don't mind if it's to bookmark it but for real I wish they would goddamn disable the like button. If you like it enough to like them surely it stands you like it ro reblog?

You're doing the right thing keeping to your friends. Ignore people who call you a clique. They're the reason why we build walls around our friendship groups and ourselves. People are always on the attack or dictating or social climbing. If you find a good person then ofc you're going to protect that friendship and yourself.

Anon, first off, I just wanna say I'm really sorry you've dealt with all of this. The last majorly active fandom (fic wise) I was involved in was over two decades ago, but I have heard and seen the horror stories. I've had friends cry over having things stolen, of hearing the horror stories over people out there who want to rally up and drag anyone who dares call out the theft and bad behavior.

We are human, and we are creative human and wanting recognition and validation for our hard work is never a bad thing. We love being told good job! Well done!

I have dealt with a person like this last summer who I thought made friends with, but then twisted themselves into thinking everything I did in pursuing my own stories was a direct attack on them/in direct response. I had to have friends step in because I was so utterly fucking confused and frankly hysterical.

I'll say this: it's rarely ever just one person. It's the people around them who enable it, who don't call out behavior, because again, we like validation, we don't want to rock the boat. If someone is stealing, or being a bully, call them out. And if they don't listen, just dump them. You and everyone else will be better for it.

I'm in my mid-30s at this point. I've been around the drama friends before and I want no part of it. I'm not here to have a million followers. I'm here to make connection with people that feel meaningful. And others may see that connection as alienating. But I mean... I walked into this fandom and saw... a lot happening. A lot that I didn't want a part of.

Fandom is meant to be a place where we can support each other creatively. And if you're jealous, that is a you thing and it's nothing to be ashamed of feeling, but it is your responsibility to handle. (and I mean a general YOU, not specifically you, anon). This was the issue with the friend I broke away from last year.

There is, in fact, enough internet to go around. How often do we go searching for stories of the same trope and same pairings? No one is going to complain about more chocolate chip cookies at the bake sale.

As an OC writer, I don't know where I stand in fandom. I try to keep my nose out of it, but I do get heated when I see friends and otherwise chill people getting caught unfairly. I just want to write my fic that I'm working really hard on, and I'm sharing it because I want to reach other people and make connections.

That's honestly quite a lot than I have expected, so I decided to condense all of them in one single post. So here is my small takes about certain subjects:

Roleplaying is a hobby. Of course, it is obvious, but it needs to be constantly reminded that people may not have much free time because of their jobs, priorities in their lives, lack of motivation, etc. Things like these should be respected, for anyone.

Dropping threads and asks. I also get this situation myself quite often, especially if you have threads and asks that are like weeks, or even months old because you aren't sure how to reply or having the lack of motivation. If it's to a point that you force yourself to do it, perhaps it's for the better to drop them, and instead make a new one. So keep the interaction going without the pressure you're having, is what I meant to say.

Communication. For me, this is something I truly value for a proper relationship between friends and mutuals. Even if it's something minor and insignificant, it never hurts to reach out, or at least try to. This also could prevent misunderstanding among each other.

Judging others for their muse. I've seen this a couple of times when a blog received 'criticism' or even anon hate because they didn't like or hate the muse they're portraying. To the people who would even practice this, would it be fair if this happens to you? No, I don't think so. If it's really bothering you, just leave them alone or do anything else than bringing negative influences towards others.

Trimming posts. In my opinion, it is recommend that everyone would make a habit of it. Scrolling through one long post in anyone's dash isn't quite fun to do so. Doing this, I do think you'll do a huge favor for your mutuals and also it's more pleasing for everyone.

Reblog karma. When you reblog an askmeme, to me, it would make more sense to do it from a meme source blog rather than a mutual unless you would send one to them afterwards. I do get it that people would feel a bit bum out when people got a notification, thinking that someone sent an ask but instead they just reblogged an askmeme from your post. That's the main reason for me to do it.

Anonymous. It is quite disheartening that the anonymous used to be a fun feature to do between mutuals, but nowadays some people also use it to send hate and insults for even the pettiest reasons. I do completely understand why some disabled this feature off.
