Just thinking about how weird it must have been for Finnick to win at 14 and how not only did he go through the arena but he also became a celebrity.

Most victors win a little older so the Capitol probably wasn’t used to having to wait for their victors to grow up. That must have felt really disorienting for like 18-20 year old Finnick because they wanted him to get older but they also didn’t want him to get old.

I have a headcanon that the victors sort of become their Games in the eyes of the Capitol, so even as they age they represent the kid who survived that arena. So for Finnick, he would’ve had to be the fourteen year old victor while also being old enough that the Capitol doesn’t feel bad about objectifying him, all while trying to protect his people at home.

The celebrity culture in Panem sounds really demanding, especially for the victors who are seen more as commodities. We don’t get as much insight into this in canon because Katniss isn’t a part of Capitol society for very long, but it’s a topic that I find really interesting.

(Also after the war Finnick embraces things like gray hair and other signs of aging because he’s finally allowed to age naturally and not exist for the pleasure of others)

I think I'm going to start doing the same thing here that I'm doing on my other blog, and start focusing more on being more comic book-inclined or at least a lot more mixed rather than focusing on the mcu.

It's not that I like the mcu, but I feel like it limits me and Logan a lot, and forces me to be stuck with some stuff that I don't really like. There are a lot more things to explore using the comic book world, a lot more characters to use and things like that so… yeah. It’s a change I’d like to make. Some differences I’d be implementing in my replies/threads right away would be:

Tony's alive.

The avengers are still a thing ( it could be the mcu team with the original six and some others or the current one from the comics that i really like )

The x-men/fantastic four/all the other heroes exist, and Logan knows ( at least by reputation ) all of them.

Logan grew up alongside the Avengers and is friends with other young heroes/other children of the Avengers ( say Frank & Valeria Richards, Katie Barton, Gerry Drew, Mayday Parker & some ocs too bc why not. Also Riri, Harley, Kate, Cassie, Billy & Tommy & more ! )

SHIELD still exists too

And some other things that i’ll be implementing with time ( bc I can't remember everything right now ).

I’ll still be exploring the mcu timeline and some points that i find interesting too but it’s just not gonna be set in stone you know ? If we write together and you prefer to strictly follow the mcu timeline that's okay, you can let me know and we're doing this. But if not, you'll notice that i'll leave things a bit more open to new possibilities

       So I wanted to talk about the Savannah Afterglow and the themes in lion king 2 where they are weary of the outsiders. And those were merely just lions that supported or followed Scar. 

      Leona talks about how they aren’t too keen on outsiders, and tend to keep it within those from the country, and Catch the Tail was one of the few exceptions to that. I think this also acts as a downside to the kingdom itself. And yes it made me listen to Not One of Us which is forever a banger. 

     But its why I always felt like Leona was a bit more like Kovu than Scar for a number of reasons. For one, he doesn’t really feel like he belongs. Leona has a different mindset than everyone else. He thinks tradition is silly, but he also knows that they can find a balance. I’ve always felt the way Leona really goes ‘bad’ is when he’s truly cast out. Being made to be the bad guy when he really wasn’t. Then with enough disappointed and hopelessness, he finally decides to be the bad guy everyone is making him out to be. 

    A lot already push him away because of his unique magic. Because his hands are the cause for destruction. Some fear the worst of him before even giving him a chance. 

   So its not so much, ‘outsiders’ being people who aren’t from the homeland per say. But people who think differently than they do.

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.
