I see Ganon speaking to him. That Drustan's emotions are blinding him. Even the fact that Drustan sees him as a father is absurd. And it leaves the demon lost and helpless. The blood Drustan has spilled in his "father's" name only benefits Ganon. Ganon only acted the father role , because it was easier to get Drustan to obey him. He saw Drustan as a tool. His weapon. Never a son. But he can act.

Telling himself that he just needs to push himself more. Prove himself. But there were always bits of him that saw what Ganon was doing. But what could he do ? And part of him was screaming internally for these people to get up and fight. He saw them as victims , but never saw himself as a victim. Why ? Because it was in his head that this was his role. That he NEEDED to do this. SO , he never saw himself as also a victim of Ganon , even though he very much was.
