Okay I can't find many fanfics for a ship I like - and now I can't seem to find a shipname either!
So is there a shipname for Cal Bowman x Jackson Marchetti from Sex Education?

Here I am finally talking about SEX EDUCATION 3.
I already wrote in another post that I loved this season so much and that I loved all the characters' journeys.
SPOILER ALERT 'cause I will talk about details.
• Adam became my favourite character, not just in this season but in the entire series. His grownth is simply beautiful, he goes through so many things and he grow and mature becoming a better version of himself, which is the true version of himself: a brave, caring and kind boy who wants to make himself better every single day.
I was sad of Eric breaking up with him (my boy tried so hard to be a good boyfriend for him *sigh*) but I wasn't very angry with this, 'cause I pretty understood the implications behind it.
So yeah. Adam Groff has my heart entirely.
And I also loved the development and the growth of all the Groff family members: loved Maureen's friendship with Jean (cute them) and Michael's journey.
Just beautiful. That's it.
• I love Otis and Maeve and I literally screamed of joy when they FINALLY kissed (the two best kisses of the entire series, in my humble opinion *I am weak for rain kisses sorry*).
But honestly... I am tired of this thing with them being splitted up at the end of every season: they deserve a chance to be together as a couple! Just show their little moments together, we need it!
But talking about this season I loved:
▪︎Otis remembering heart by heart his message's words (this boy has my heart)
▪︎ Otis being proud of Maeve for being accepted at America's School (husband material)
▪︎Otis speech to his mum about Maeve, something like "I don't know a lot about love, but I am sure that she is my person". Love love love.
I am still rooting for them, so I really hope season 4 could be their final endgame. We should just wait and see what will happen.
• RUBY MATTHEWS ON THE WAY. In love with her growth and the fact that we discovered that she is a caring person, with a secret passion for nerdy and soft boys (girl, you're not the only).
I truly loved her moments with Otis: they're so cute as a couple and they have a beautiful chemistry.
The moment when she said "I love you" to Otis and he doesn't say it back is heartbreaking... like, really.
But again it is not Otis' fault and neither Ruby's. They simply were completely honest about their feelings for each other, and I think it's important that this show portrayed it, because it could happen in real life: having feelings for someone who doesn't feel the same way about you, and it's none's fault if this happen.
As Otis said in season 1, in the end "Love is just dumb luck... sometimes you meet someone who feels the same way about you, and sometimes you're unlucky".
But... I think that maybe in season 4 we could have something between Otis and Ruby. And even though I'm rooting for him and Maeve, I won't feel bad if they made up and were again a couple.
In conclusion: Otis and Ruby are cute and powerful (he offering to help her with her dad and she's embarassed because she talks a lot about him with her family, sooo cute).
• Aimee Gibbs, ladies and gentleman. Give a medal to writers for showing us how healing for a trauma is not easy, especially speaking in the case of Aimee. I was sad when she decided to break up with Steve, but it's truly the best thing she could do for herself: she needs some time to be alone and discover herself a little more.
• Maeve finally having a family and a home: heart eyes. My girl deserves only the best things, 'cause she went through so much pain at a very young age. She also needs to get academic success 'cause she's brilliant! Just absolute love for Maeve Wiley.
Her mum apologizing to her and giving her the money to go in America... I cried. That was one of the best moments in the season.
• I also enjoyed very much Isaac's development: him apologizing to Maeve for deleting Otis' message was very mature of him.
• Ola and Lily, my babies. Their journeys are stunning.
I loved the development of Ola's relationship with Jean and I cried of happines when Jakob tells her "You remember me the joy". Again, LOVE.
• Jean and Jakob = heart eyes. They love each other so much, even if they're quite different. But it doesn't matter at all because they both want one thing: being a family.
BUT... dear writers, the final cliffhanger in which baby Joy could not be Jakob's daughter... seriously, what the hell is wrong with you?!?
Just wait for season 4 to see what will happen, 'cause this made me a bit angry.
• Jackson Marchetti, my boy, finally being free to do whatever he wants.
Loved so much his dynamic with Viv, and with Cal too. It was interesting watching him exploring feelings for a queer person.
In the end I loved his dynamic with his mom: they went through so many difficult moments in season 2, they needed some happy moments!
• Cal Bowman, a character we needed even if we didn't know. Just love.
• Hope Haddon... I just want to say that she gave me Dolores Umbridge vibes. And that's all.
• Eric Effiong and Otis Milburn literally invented friendship, same thing for Maeve Wiley and Aimee Gibbs. I wish I had friendships like these. Love love love.
In conclusion, these are my thoughts on SEX EDUCATION 3. I am so happy it was renewed for a new season, 'cause this show is definetely one of the best ever made.

about jackson and cal /pos
the relationship between cal and jackson was probably one of, if not the best thing, to come out of season three. off the bat, they just had such great chemistry. they were good to and for each other as friends.
the fact that they showed jackson questioning his sexuality after his attraction to cal was verbalized was so fucking great. i think it's super important that we talk about these things because sexuality really is fluid and as we destroy our views of gender, we only further blur the lines of sexuality. it's probably one of the realest things this show has done and it really rubbed me in the best way possible. i also just felt so comforted by their characters generally (as well as eric and viv) because it's rare to see so many black, queer, and disabled on-screen as main characters. usually if they are either poorly written, their experiences are watered down, or they're solely there to show black or queer/trans trauma and none of that happened (aside from the one incident of eric getting hate crimed). there were clear moments of black, queer, and trans joy and i think we need to see more of that on-screen especially in these shows that show teenagers.
i just really love cal and jackson's relationship and in general the way they show communication (and sometimes lack thereof in this show). cal's character being one who's not afraid to say what needs to be said really helped with this. them being able to verbalize how they felt and bringing up things that as a cishet person, you might not understand was so necessary and truly well done. it shows the very real life of queer and trans people and how navigating things like school and relationships can be difficult, while also not making it traumatic.
i just really appreciated these additions as a queer and trans person because it's something you rarely see in the media. i hope sex education gets renewed just so i can see where they take these two and their relationship cause i think it's really important. they also just deserve the world man.

I just binged all of sex education.
My main take away from it is that Lily & Rahim are both autistic, Aimee and Adam both have ADHD, and I’m super proud of Steve for coming to terms with his possible Demisexuality, I’m proud of Jackson for trying with Cal but respecting their sexuality and his own, and for Cal sticking up for themselves in that relationship, Ruby’s character development was amazing, and good job Maeve for finally getting what you want.
Also, S1 and S2 Eric, I relate way too hard to you, but S3 Adam, you didn’t deserve that and I hope things kick off with Mr Poet and I’m starting to relate to you a little more instead ngl—

Otis, texting Eric: Eric! Help, I’m being kidnapped.
Eric: Where are you?
Otis: I’m with some strange person. In a car. Help.
Eric: I’ll call Maeve.
Maeve, answering their cell: Y’ello?
Eric: Where’s Otis? They texted me that they were being kidnapped.
Maeve: Otis? Whaddya mean, they're right next to me-
Maeve:
Maeve: I’ll call you back. *hangs up*
Maeve: THE NEW HAIRCUT ISN’T THAT BAD!
Otis: WHO ARE YOU?!

Just finished Sex Education season 3! Here are my thoughts:
- I hated how Eric was trying to rush Adam. He JUST came out of the closet dude. Of course he’s not gonna be immediately comfortable with certain things. As if he didn’t know Adam had issues with expressing his feelings already 🙄
- Eric has GOT to stop cheating and embarrassing the people he claims to love. He publicly humiliated Rahim in s2 by choosing Adam in front of everyone and cheated on Adam with some dude in Nigeria. Get your shit together cuz it ain’t cute
- Otis and Isaac were so selfish during that scene where Elsie was missing. That was not the time or place to be fighting over a girl
- Erin needs to be put into a hospital for a while tbh
- Jean is one of the most patient characters I’ve ever seen because I simply would’ve slapped Otis and many other ppl in the show by now 😭
- Maeve is also pretty damn calm for the most part and I liked her a lot this season except for that little fight with Aimee
- Aimee was great!!!
- Loved seeing the Groff’s learn to cope with new beginnings and finding themselves. I ended up loving all three of them by the end, except Pete he can choke
- The teachers were absolutely hilarious this season
- I’ve NEVER hated an administrator as much as I hated Hope. Good lord I wanted them to set her on fire
- Jackson was a FANTASTIC character this season. Loved every scene with him
- I wish the writers would’ve let Ruby and Otis date for a little longer. We all know Motis is most likely endgame, so they may as well explore other relationships. They were so adorable, and I hated seeing her so sad after the break up
- Episode 7 was the best fucking episode
- The entire France trip was golden
- Cal is the best character this season, and the scene where they fall from the vent was truly special
- Ola and Lily are so cute, and I’m glad they worked it out in the end
- I don’t want to see Isaac again tbh. He’s so selfish to me
- I’m so happy Maeve is getting to explore another country and finally has a nice place to stay
- I wonder how the kids will get to finish their school year
- I appreciate that Otis didn’t cheat or lie to Ruby because he easily could’ve. He was straight forward about his feelings and didn’t lead her on, which I respect. (Now if only he’d teach Eric how to do that)
- I think Mr. Groff might become an administrator again, but it’s not likely
I will no doubt add or subtract from this list in the future, but for now these are my opinions. Let me know if you agree or disagree with them!

things i liked about sex education season 3
so i made a post about some things i didn't like about season three, so here's some things i did like!
gonna gush about cal, viv, and jackson rq cause i love them so much
i really love cal so much they're probably my favorite character of the whole series. them as a character (laid back, stoner, skater, funny, and bold) just makes me so happy, but also the representation aspect was the best thing they've ever done. the actor who plays them is actually non binary in real life and uses they/xe pronouns. them also being black i think is super important. cal was just so loveable and always had good vibes. the most encouraging and "fuck it, do what you want, you don't have to be perfect/know everything" character. there was representation in more than one aspect for me and i just heavily related to them :) i think it should also be noted that even though there are a lot of lgbtqia+ characters in sex education, i'm pretty sure cal is the only one whose actor is part of the community irl.
VIV IS AUTISTIC! aside from isaac i think she's the only other canonically disabled character (outside of characters like jackson, maeve, and cal who have anxiety). i really love viv so much. she's so funny and smart and she's a go-getter and knows what she wants. she will put in the work to make sure she gets what she needs done. she's business only most times, although eventually, she loosens up. idk man i just liked seeing a black girl on screen in such a prominent role. she made me feel powerful and im surprised how much they developed her character! they did neglect her a little during s3, which i think was intentional to cause some tension between her and jackson, but that fixed itself so i can't be mad at it
i have loved jackson from the beginning! our black head boy. mad that mr groff was using him for funding, but i'm glad they showed us early on that he was more than just this jock. i think season 1 was his worst season cause even though they delved into his character, i feel like he was only used to further otis and maeve's relationship. in season two i liked him because he started to open up and made a real friend. i noticed that after maeve and jackson broke up, jackson really had no one and he had just started to open up with maeve (and himself) for the first time ever. i think him being friends with viv really made the difference because they both were supportive of each other, encouraged each other, and told each other off when necessary. the black boy, black girl friendship was unmatched and i'm so glad they didn't force viv and jackson into something romantic. jackson's friendship with cal was also really cool because they instantly became tight and i think cal really helped jackson with even more self discovery. jackson's whole character is self discovery i feel, but i'm glad he finally has good people around him to help with that. it's what he deserves
some specific things i liked:
- adam and his father's character development and the fact that they really did do it on their own. they might've done it for other people, but in the end they went on the journey alone and it was for the better
- that little bit that we did learn about ruby and her life outside of being the popular mean girl. ruby deserved way better and just generally more screen time because she really is an interesting character and they started to show us who she was, but cut us off after otis broke up with her
- seeing anwar and olivia support ruby after otis dumped her
- jackson and cal's friendship and the trials of their relationship (i'll probably make a whole post about this)
- eric being able to get in touch with his roots again (even though it felt like isolation...). i just love being reminded that eric is black. he's african. we see his home life and these family dynamics that non black people would never think about, and i think it's important that they be seen.
- otis shaving his pub3 stache.........
- aimee and maureen :3 aimee and maureen were so great honestly they deserve more attention. they're so wholesome and have grown so much i feel.
- aimee and maeve's friendship
- maeve BY HERSELF. i really like maeve honestly and i think that the mave x otis stuff really drowns out her true character. she's so accomplished and has so much depth and emotion. they touch on it briefly so many times, but it always ends up coming back to otis x maeve being the center of attention. im curious as to what theyre going to do with her character if there's a season 4 since she's in america
- adam and rahim's budding friendship as well as ola and adam's friendship which i hope we get to see more of again
- adam liking the kardashians lol
