So, Soap Dogs (and Soap Cats) are both based on concept art by @caveworfs! They're more of a merger between my style and theirs (Sealines are entirely my own style) but the teeth on them are my doing, I took the teeth from Sealines actually and modified them to be more canine-y I really recommend looking up dental charts and skull pictures if you're learning to draw teeth though! Vampire Medic/AU headcanons but they're disorganized because I'm so insane that I don't think I can correlate my thoughts well enough to make them normal

- Medic has exactly ten fangs in his mouth; two prominent ones on the top in place of the canines, his four back molars all to a point, and his bottom canines being slightly stubby but still to an edge.

- The fangs retract in his upper jaw (I have a dental chart I drew out for this somewhere guys please bear with me it's scientifically/biologically "logical"), but when a scent is picked up, hunger turns to starvation, or in the apex of a hunt, they extend to 3.9 centimeters!!!! They curve, as well, which is why they're able to be as fang-y and long as they are

- His sense of sight is actually marvelous in the AU, but it's not what we or the characters see; his vision is darker, with moving figures being highlighted almost like a heat res camera, but not as intense. It gets worse the longer he goes without feeding.

- With that, the glasses he wears in the AU are simply cosmetic! He's being forced to blend in, and you don't exactly appear normal with bloodshot red- pupiled eyes

- He can taste the difference in blood types ALL except for B+ and A-. His preferred is AB+.

- While he can eat normal food, it doesn't satisfy the feeling of gnawing or instinct like it would normally. In fact, he finds most food (except extremely seasoned/salted stuff) disgusting and unnecessarily filling

- He has a bad habit of running after Spy when he needs to catch up or tell him something where he often vaults or walls off of objects like he does in bloodhunts. As scary as you interpret it.

- Sorry all bat-morph lovers, Medic in this AU does not possess that ability 😓 he instead, has blackened nails (appear as painted) that cling to surfaces very well. He uses this to climb or fight if necessary.

- Along with that, he CANNOT fly nor levitate. The most he can do is walk up vertical or upside down surfaces for a period of time

- He is, though, still extremely sensitive to sunlight, garlic, crucifixes/holy water, and wooden stakes!!! 🥳

reasons I am Not Human

Look idk if I’m an eldritch horror or what, but it has recently come to my attention that if you made a list of all the suspicious things about me, it would be...pretty unbelievable. So:

I have the rough tooth arrangement of a large apex predator. (Yes, humans are technically apex predators. I’m talking about something e l s e.) At my first orthodontist’s appointment, they were very confused because apparently I just Don’t Have several adult teeth. There was nothing under my gums when the baby teeth fell out in some spots. Incidentally, these spots line up with my extra set of canines in such a way that my jaw is essentially designed for tearing into stuff.

I have no ability to comprehend music theory no matter how many times it’s been explained to me, but can sing back any sequence of notes on key after hearing it once. Not perfect pitch, necessarily, but perfect pitch matching.

All cats like me. All of them.

So do crows. I carry snacks for them. They remember me.

I am so completely and unreasonably Not Cold at all times that several doctors are concerned. I wear short skirts in winter in the north. I swim in unheated outdoor pools in freezing rain. I can bite popsicles and ice cream and I never get brain freeze.

Everyone thinks they’re super stealth quiet when they want to be, but I. Genuinely am. My roommates insist that I manufacture noise when I approach so I don’t give them heart attacks.

No gag reflex. Not in a sexy way. In a scary way.

Stupid high pain tolerance, apparently?? But no drug tolerance?? I’ve had to have multiple dental surgeries (see above) and no one dares give me more than a half dose of anesthesia anymore.

Speaking of anesthesia, I regularly speak in a Russian accent after waking up from surgeries. I have no memory of a lot of the videos that people have shown me of myself speaking in that accent.

I do not swim exceptionally fast, but I can hold my breath underwater for unprecedented amounts of time. I do not swim like a human. I do not know the names of my strokes. I disappear underwater in the river and languish there.

I have ridiculous joint flexibility. I have never danced or done gymnastics, but can fold myself into various pretzel shapes without warming up.

Despite this, I cannot do the splits. I have no idea why.

When I was an older kid, I was asked to participate in a study about youth reactions to stress. Due to the “nature of the study,” the researchers couldn’t tell us any of the specifics, but I was compensated for my time and spent several hours in an MRI machine playing brain and memory games. I met with the researchers again a few weeks later and they all treated me very differently. One of them told my mom that I, quote, “shouldn’t have been able to do that. Most adults don’t function that way under stress. She’s off the charts.” I still have no idea what the study was actually about.

Idk about that study reflecting on my intelligence at all though, because I can’t process numbers, like at all, whatsoever. None. Math stopped making sense to me in freshman year of high school. I can’t remember even short strings of numbers. I have to recalculate tips upwards of four times before I’m sure I have it right. I forget dates as soon as they’re told to me.

Miraak + Dragon Cult HC I

A bunch of misc headcanons for Miraak and the Dragon Cult / general culture of that time while i’m thinking about them, including priest hierarchy. I’ll get.... the other info on the priests and Miraak’s relationship to them in another post.

Miraak definitely has some of his teeth filed. The top front 6 teeth (11-13 & 21-23 or 6-11, depending on what sort of dental chart you’re looking at) and his bottom canine teeth have been filed to a point.

Teeth filing was a common practice among high-ranking dragon priests, in reflection of their overlords. 

Miraak, and most the other masked priests, are Atmoran. Nords weren’t commonly priests, especially high priests.

If nords have good cold resistance, Atmorans really have good cold resistance. Miraak has no problem being in thin clothing during frigid weather, or with touching snow with his bare skin.

Miraak, and most other Atmorans and priests, really liked to take plunges into frigid water, especially if they’d previously been in hot water. 

Miraak is, to this day, totally unphased by cool water. Skyrim rivers are perfectly acceptable places for him to bathe, even if they’re mountain runoff 

The masked priests were generally a mix of the best warriors and mages, though they were encouraged to at least know some of both paths. Miraak leaned much more towards magic than physical combat, but was (and continues to be) a very capable combatant.

Even after millennia in Apocrypha, he’s decently in shape, but in no way ripped. 

Working out helped him keep his mind off of things while trapped.

Worst dental appointment *ever*. So I’m one of those “brush my teeth every single day, never forget to wear my retainer, never had a cavity in my life” kind people who can count on one had the number of times I’ve gone to bed without brushing my teeth and putting my retainer in my mouth in the last decade. Anyway. I had a dental appt at 9 am today. The dental hygienist flossing my teeth is always the worst part. There’s this permanent metal retainer glued to my bottom canines because I wore braces when I was 12, and I can’t even floss under it without hurting myself and this is always the hardest part of my dental appointments, but I always suffer through it just fine for the sake of clean teeth.

Anyway. She can’t get the floss through the metal bar so she gets out the tool designed for people with braces and she can’t get that under the bar without stabbing me in the mouth half a dozen times, and then once she’s figured it out she decides to hand me the mirror so I can see how she did it, and then proceeds to stab me another dozen times because she can’t successfully redo the very painful process.

So I’m holding this mirror and she’s stabbing me with a dental flossing apparatus and oh yeah, my gums are bleeding pretty profusely. And this happened like 9 hours ago and my gum is now pretty swollen between one of my bottom canine’s and the tooth next to it. But whatever. So she didn’t warn me that I looked pretty bad with all this blood all over all my front teeth, but whatever. Apparently I’m not as bad with blood as I was in high school so there was no fainting. Good.

And then the story gets even better.

The doctor that came in is one that I have never seen before, and has probably never ever seen my medical chart, let alone knows things about me from seeing me twice a year since I was ten. Things like the fact that I wore braces for 18 months when I was 12 and things like the fact that my twelve year old molars came in when I was 20, and things like the fact that I only had one wisdom tooth because biology and I had it surgically removed last year in March. Although apparently she could tell by looking at the x-rays taken today exactly where it was or maybe that’s because the hygienist had removed the tooth from my chart today, I don’t know.

So she has her fingers in my mouth and tells the hygienist to record such and such data that I would assume is in relation to my overbite, and with her fingers in my mouth, asks “So have you ever worn braces? Would you like a referral to see the orthodontist?”

My twelve year old molars came in 8 years after I got my braces off, I have worn my top retainer 99% of the days since I got braces off ten years ago now, and there is a fucking metal bar in my mouth right now that is there because I got my braces off ten years ago.

Why would I wanna go back to the orthodontist to fix an overbite they failed to fix 10 years ago when I wore the prescribed bite plate retainer 100% of the time until they said I didn’t need it anymore? My teeth are straight except the twelve year old molars aren’t lined up in the back, weren’t ever lined up because they came in after I started college, and I could care less. There’s a sore in my cheek that is 10% of the reason I went to the dentist today and the best they could come up with is “maybe you just bit your cheek really hard last week, you’re fine. That’s normal but the orthodontics we are currently recommending might prevent that in the future” and I don’t really care. I don’t care.

I don’t have any cavities and my mouth only hurts when someone stabs me two dozen times in the gums. And that metal bar is so clean my tongue is gonna hurt tomorrow because I suddenly find myself able to stick my tongue underneath it and it’s fucking sharp. The metal bar is the entire reason that I describe to everyone that on the day after the braces came off, it felt like my tongue had been sent through the paper shredder and I ate 2 whole apples just because I could.
