Just finished watching X-Men 97 Ep 7 (I love having a series to look forward to on a weekly basis again! Excited to get a good dinner and sit down for half and hour of getting WHIPLASHED by all the new reveals and emotions. It's such a nice thing to look forward to inthe mid-week slog as well)!!!
Thoughts and spoilers below!
They REALLY went all out with Gambit's funeral, and it was nice seeing Nightcrawler carrying out priest rites for the brother-in-law he could have had. Jubilee's anguished anger at Rogue not being there HURT
Holy shit ROGUE. VERY Rogue-centric episode, and it's pain pain PAIN evbery other minute. Her absolute disdain for Captain America not wanting her to be on his team to check out Gyrich because of the tense situation/'optics' is 100% understandable, I stand by women's rights and Rogue's Wrongs in this case. Also her backhanding him with the "America's Top Cop" label, she taking no prisoners this week.
Beast gently but sternly calling out Trish the reporter about how 'tolerance' simply isn't enough anymore and it was a low bar to set for mutant-human relations to begin with, and how he's aghast at the idea of having to give a calming/professional sound byte or something to try and quell mutant protests and demonstrations worldwide after what happened, after MILLIONS OF THEM DIED is. Very relevant. To certain current events. He's been trying SO HARD to be the sweet, professional one, but he is tired and he is sad and he doesn't have it in him to ask for the bare minimum anymore or tell his people they don't have the right to feel the way they do.
We get Diamond Emma! No clue as to whether the massacre has changed her outlook on life since her appearance was during a brief rescue moment where Cyclop's hopes that Madelyne could have survived (Jean said she could feel a telepath under all the rubble) got crushed, but hopefully that'll be answered in the next ep!
Sunspot finally coming clean to his mum about him being a mutant! She seems like a very sweet lady who clearly loves him and takes it VERY WELL, but immediately she's like "Our family is established and in the spotlight, your father's business can't afford this sort of publicity. The world won't accept you, especially given what happened, so we have to find a way to hide this from the public, and that includes cultivating a list of people you can associate with". Which feels like it could be relevant to today's queer acceptance where it's like "On a personal basis I love you and accept you for who you are, BUT..." as an evolution from the X-Men movie's "Have you ever tried... not being a mutant?"
There is a LOT of talk about 'optics' in this episode, which feels VERY TIMELY. And VERY POINTED. How President Kelly apparently wants to send aid to Genosha, but doesn't do it to the fullest extent because he's worried about the political optics from 'normal humans' who are now afraid of an all out human-mutant war, and argues that he's doing his best here and that he needs suppport to stay in office to ensure a 'worse' person for mutant advocacy doesn't step in (I'm not going to lie. Very Democrat argument for why their man should stay in office---look at the boogieman who might be there if they aren't, instead of dealing with issues head-on) . And Cyclops's civil but seething rage at that because this is NOT a time for subtleties or politicking MILLIONS OF MY PEOPLE ARE DEAD.
Nightcrawler comforting Rogue and letting her just bawl openly in his arms during Day of the Dead ;; My heart.
Rogue kills a man. Or, helps him to his death, I'm not sure how you categorize this when Trask was already attempting to jump off a building out of guilt anyway, and she stepped in to stop him, only to let go when he said he had no other info for her (she had initially told him to help them to redeem himself). Again, 100% understandable, I support Rogue's Wrongs, and I LOVE how dark they're taking this, watching our girl step closer and closer to the abyss from her rage and grief and just plunging into it. Also her screaming that Trask deserved it for killing a great man, "MY MAN!!!!!". Whoof.
KNEW Mags wasn't dead. Going to be fun seeing WHAT Bastion plans to do with him now.
Again, STELLAR episode, a good 9/10 from me!

Line: "Could end in burning flames or paradise." Location: backyard
Let's go AU again. This time a REAL departure.
***
A magazine is thrown down on the bar top next to Matt. He skims it just enough to read the cover. It's a tabloid. One of those that claims to have inside sources but never does.
CASEY TO RETIRE AT END OF CURRENT SEASON.
"Looks like you're out, old man."
He rolls his eyes and slides the magazine away, a dry grin on his face as he stares down at his whiskey. "We're the exact same age. If I'm retiring so are you, Severide."
"Yeah, but I'm not the face of the franchise," Kelly says, grabbing Matt's chin and smushing his cheeks. "I mean look at this face. They're all obsessed with it."
Matt shoves his best friend and teammate away. "Get off me, jackass."
"Oh, come on, we won! Why are you sitting at the bar brooding like a sad sack of shit?"
He glances over at the rest of his team, celebrating their win with their partners and spouses. Even Kelly's wife is here, partying with them in their coach's backyard, and she's a professional soccer player with her own team to lead.
"I'm trying not to be a downer. You all have people to share our success with, you should enjoy it."
"Whatever, man," Kelly says with a scoff as he grabs Matt's whiskey glass and holds it away from him. "You have us. We're not just a team. We're a family. Come on. Donna invited the new Team Doc. She's commanded you show your face and be polite."
"I'm always polite. It's you Donna needs to worry about. Will you gimme my damn drink back?"
Severide laughs in his Captain's face and hands him back the glass. "You're polite unless you're in a mood like the one you're in tonight."
Donna Boden spots them and waves them over. "Boys, come and say hi."
They cross the yard, toward their head coach and his wife. This backyard is more a special event space than a backyard. Donna had it landscaped specially for team gatherings and it includes a pool, a bar, and an outdoor kitchen. They're invited over a lot.
The closer they get, the better a look Matt gets at the new Assistant Team Doctor. His feet hesitate, causing Severide to bump into his back. "Maybe I should take that whiskey back," Kelly snipes with a crooked smirk. "You alright?"
When Boden said they were getting a new team doctor Matt just assumed the organization would hire another older guy full of dad jokes and football trivia. But no. That's not who he finds waiting to meet them. Instead, it's a woman. A young blonde woman in a blue wrap dress and matching heels. Her smile and laughing blue eyes stun him, keeping his feet glued to the ground.
"Casey?" Kelly asks, shoving him lightly. "You gonna walk or am I leaving you here?"
He shakes himself, forcing his eyes away from the woman’s face. “I’m walking. Just gimme a second.”
He knocks back the rest of his whiskey, leaving the glass on a nearby table. With that out of the way, he shoves his hands in his pockets and finally continues forward. He has no idea what to do with his hands so best to just hide them away. It’s a good plan until Donna goes in for a hug and he can’t refuse without being rude.
“How’s my favorite quarterback in the league?” Donna asks.
He chuckles as he steps out of the hug. “I’m good. Working hard, staying focused.”
“Well, it’s working. Keep it up,” she encourages before passing him to hug Kelly as well. They nod at Boden instead of going in to hug him or shake his hand. “Guys,” Donna starts, walking over to the new doctor and putting an arm around her shoulders. “Have you met Sylvie Brett? She’s our new Assistant Team Medical Doctor.”
“No,” Severide says, reaching forward to shake her hand. “Not yet. Welcome to the team.”
“Thank you,” she tells him, smiling politely. “I’m officially a traitor to my family but I’m happy to be here.”
Kelly laughs. “Not a Chicago fan?”
“I’m from Indiana, so…”
“Yeah, say no more. I understand.” Kelly pats Matt on the back, hard enough to send him jolting forward. That’s what happens when one of the toughest tight ends in football, claps a hand against you with no warning. “And this guy is our Quarterback and captain, Matt Casey.”
She holds her hand out to him as well. Matt stares at it for a long series of seconds, knowing full well his hand is clammy. Why the hell does this woman make him so clumsy and nervous? He discretely tries to wipe his hand on his pants before putting his hand in hers. The minute their fingers touch, tingles shoot up and down his arm. What the fuck is happening?
“Nice to meet you,” Sylvie says before nervously biting the inside of her bottom lip, drawing his stare toward her mouth.
For a moment he pictures biting that bottom lip for himself, but then he realizes he looks like a creep -- continuing to squeeze her hand while staring at her lips. “Yeah, you too. We’re glad to have you.” He lets go of her hand, even if everything in him rebels against the action, and steps back.
“It’ll be nice to have someone with more of a bedside manner than Abrams,” Kelly jokes, referencing Sylvie’s boss and their Head Physician.
“Oh, him?” Sylvie says, waving a hand dismissively. “He’s all bark, no bite. We’ve worked together before. I can handle him.”
“Well, now that we’ve made introductions,” Donna says. “We need to go see to our other guests and check in on the caterers.” She turns to Sylvie with a concerned glance. “Are you okay here?”
“Yes, I’ll be fine. Please do what you need to do,” Sylvie assures her. “I’m sure these guys won’t mind showing me around.”
Boden and Donna leave, hand in hand. Just as they leave, Stella shouts for Kelly from her seat by the fire pit. “Sorry,” he says, shaking Sylvie’s hand one more time. “When the wife calls, I go. If I stand her up then I’m in deep shit.”
Sylvie chuckles and nods. “I understand. Casey and I can manage.”
Can they? He asks himself. He hasn’t managed to pull himself together long enough to say more than a couple of sentences. “Uh, yeah, we’re good. Go spend time with Kidd. She flies out tomorrow.” They watch Severide walk away in silence before Matt motions ahead of him, allowing Sylvie to walk first. “How about we start with a tour? Donna’s really worked hard to make this place feel like a family space for us.”
“I can tell,” she says, looking over toward the small garden and outdoor eating area. “It’s beautiful.”
Not nearly as beautiful as she is, not that he can tell her that.
“So, what brings you to Chicago if you’re an Indiana girl?” He asks.
She blushes and looks down on the ground, suddenly interested in their feet as they walk. “Well, it was either move or let my ex make my professional life a nightmare. I chose to move.” She pauses, eyes wide in shock. “I don’t know why I told you that.”
“Your ex sounds like a class act,” Matt comments sarcastically.
“Yeah, Harrison was a real winner,” she scoffs with a roll of her eyes. “But I’m here now, thanks to Dr. Abrams recommendation, and I can’t wait to get started. I’m excited for new challenges.” There’s a beat where her eyes scan over the length of him and then intentionally look away. “New people, places.”
“You’re gonna love Chicago,” he promises. “It’s my favorite city.”
“Favorite of all time?” She asks, grinning teasingly.
“Of all time in the whole world.”
“Wow, well, my expectations are officially high.”
“If you want,” he offers, shoving his hands in his pockets again. “I could show you around. Give you the official Matt Casey approved tour. I gotta make sure we clear those expectations I set, after all.”
“That sounds wonderful,” she agrees, demurely tucking her hair behind her ears. “We should make it happen.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes, for sure.”
The smile at each other and twin flirtatious gazes meet.
He can’t help but admire the way the color in her cheeks extends down her neck, turning her creamy fair skin a pretty shade of pink. He wants to trail kisses over that path of pink and see where it leads.
Damn, it’s been a long time since he’s had it this bad so fast. He went from depressed and moping in his loneliness to giddy and smitten. The whiplash has his head spinning. Or maybe that’s just Sylvie sending his head spinning.
Something big is starting tonight. He can feel it.
He doesn’t know how it will all end up, but he reckons there’s two options.
Burning flames or happily committed paradise.
He’s willing to roll the dice. He hopes Sylvie is too.

Meanwhile in Comic Books: if I understand recent events correctly, and who knows, who gives a shit, but.... Mark Millar (the creator of Trouble, the comic where Aunt May fucks) got so angry that "people" (I only know one name and it's another comic creator) made fun of a comic retailer for putting out some dopey video or another about How Comics Are Bad Now for a (very incoherent) reason on Youtube (incoherent to me, as "reported", but I ain't watching that shit) that Millar became a Comicsgate supporter (or whatever they're calling themselves now)... except while simultaneously saying he's not a Comicsgate supporter...
Except while attacking people he described as "the cancel pigs" (?) who he claims have been terrorizing high profile DC Comics writers... by... doing posts?? (That bit's unclear, but okay; posts; oh well). (No idea who the high profile DC Comics writers are right now either. The guy who writes Captain Carrot? I don't know who).
(And also he's using quote tweets to sort of promote some kind of weird loser theory that the "Cancel Pigs" are actually "paid shills" of some kind of weird PR company's scheme to ... do Comics Evil, you know... for the money that would generate... somehow...???).
Anyways, he then said anyone who is Doing Evil Posts will never get to write Batman... the Ultimate Punishment! Let's assume there've been at least 1,028 issues of Detective Comics since 1939, so ... and assuming each issue had a different writer (which isn't true), and a global population of 8.1 billion people... a Comics Pig is being threatened with being part of ... basically 99.9999873% of Earth's population. I don't know-- it's comics so that's how they always try to police people-- "only the pure and penitent get to writeth the Batman." It works. I mean, it works, so.
(He's doing this while talking to retailers who apparently keep telling him the problem with comics right now isn't politics-- it's that the whole scene is fucking boring. But Millar has the solution-- get John Byrne to write and draw two books a month. It's time to get the 73 year old man to draw 40 pages a month-- it all hinges on that...).
Anyways, then Millar might have tweeted something (that might have gotten deleted or I'm too bored to find it) about how someone was writing a book about the "Cancel Pigs" or the comic terrorism or the badness of posts or something or another... And it turns out that there's some anonymous person is writing some kind of smear attack book that features a photo of Gail Simone and Kelly Sue Deconnick on the cover?? So people were like "oh, he meant that book, he's going after Gail Simone, the war has begun" or whatever the fuck, and Mark Millar said he meant ... he meant an entirely different (print-on-demand Lulu.com?) book that is being written (!!!!!) about comic book industry drama (??!?!?!?), so Gail Simone said everything is hunky dory now. The war has been averted; this is all very sane now hahaha.
And also Mark Waid lost his temper about all of this, or something, but on Blusky, which...??? I mean, I don't know-- all those Blusky codes are too fuck ugly and inelegant to ever be curious what happens there. "Hey, want to get into Blusky? Here's how to do it-- 13295359859.blusky.cobaltirondeathfrombelow.12392389202." You're being weird, Twiki! "You need a code"-- I have a code-- the code of the samurai!!!!!! (Samurai with asthma).
I don't know. American comics have such a massive loser energy around them (myself included)(unless my hair looks good, but today it doesn't), and they're just soaked in these aging dried-up creators with no real new ideas, like... I don't know. I just read manga now. And it's so much better; life's so much better. I cancelled myself from out of comics, and it's great. Highly recommended-- be your own cancel-pig. (I also bought a rice cooker that I'm really happy with this year, the Greenlife rice cooker, but this post isn't about rice)(But should it be?).
In summation: the comics industry's used-up elderly creators and fans are calling each other cancel pigs now, to save comics, and/or to promote books that they are writing, about how secret cabals are keeping comics from being good, for politics, or something. So you know: that's probably a healthy development, or not, whichever.

Best Friends?
Gordon Malloy x Reader Word count:  2357
//One of my closest friends is a Gordon Girl and there is a severe lack of Gordon Fics Befriending Gordon Malloy was not something you expected to do when you took a posting on the starship Orville. You were a science officer, with a specialty in anthropology, rarely on the bridge yourself. Your first meeting was about a month into the new posting. You’d met some of the bridge crew, sure, but your paths had no reason to cross until Captain Mercer approached you, telling you they were coming up on a planet that had been knocked out of its original position in its system, all life on the planet in question having been wiped out shortly after.
“I was hoping you’d be willing to head down, help the rest of the ground team pick out some things that would actually be useful for study, to kind of break down what their society was like,” he’d told you, having come down to the science lab to ask directly. “I don’t want to send people down and have them come back with things that are totally useless to you.”
You looked up from your work and nodded your agreement. “I’d love to go down. It could be useful to see the buildings and get some scans.”
He’d nodded back, and given you a crooked smile. “Perfect. You’ll meet with Lieutenant Malloy, Commander Grayson, and Ensign Harris in the Shuttle Bay in about thirty minutes. Malloy will take you guys down to the planet's surface, it should be pretty straightforward, no life signs are showing up on our scans,” he continued to explain. “I’ll leave you to your work for now, Lieutenant.”
Thirty minutes came and left pretty quickly, and you’d brought your tablet with you for scans and pictures, flipping through the information the scans were able to fill in, putting it away to introduce yourself to the other three you’d be working with. You were, of course, familiar with Commander Grayson already, and she introduced you to the two men politely.
“And Lieutenant, this is Ensign Harris,” she gestured to a tall, tan man with dark hair in Engineering orange, “and Lieutenant Malloy,” she gestured to the other man, a shorter, pale man with orange hair, also in Engineering orange. “They’ll accompany us down to the planet’s surface.”
The four of you piled into the shuttle, the other Lieutenant and the Commander went up front, and you took a seat towards the back, opening your tablet to look back over the information. A colder planet, previously set much further up in the solar system, it seemed the inhabitants couldn’t handle the change in temperature and died out.
When you reached the surface, though there was no anticipated threat, Commander Grayson still insisted no one be alone, and sent you off with the ginger, playfully reminding him to behave. He’d cracked jokes the whole way, while you worked carefully, conversing politely until he’d said something that had made you snort out a laugh, which in turn made him light up. You’d relaxed after that, cracking jokes back and forth as you picked up some artifacts he’d insisted on carrying for you, jokingly telling you he was useless at doing anything else besides this and driving.
After that mission, he’d started to seek you out, coming to the Science Lab to invite you to lunch with him and some of the other bridge crew, taking you to the simulator to show you some of the, honestly, interesting and pretty weird simulations he’d made to entertain himself while he was on desk duty. You’d become pretty good friends with some of his friends, but most of your free time, you noticed after a while, was spent with the incredibly outgoing Lieutenant, which you certainly didn’t mind.
Which leads you here, to having wine with Claire, Talla, and Kelly, listening to them giggle about their romances or new hookups. Claire loves to talk about Isaac, and God knows you love to listen, but you felt a little melancholy today for some reason you had trouble placing.
“What about you?” You look up to see Kelly looking at you, brow raised. “How are you and Gordon? Any cute dates?” Her tone sounds teasing, and you roll your eyes at the Commander.
“We’re just friends,” you remind them, taking a sip from your glass.
“Well, it sure sounded like he was talking about you as more than a friend yesterday,” Talla chimes in, hiding behind her glass.
It feels like your brain short-circuits, and you raise a brow at them. “He did what?”
Your crush on Gordon was likely your worst hidden secret among much of the main crew. You’d been caught by LaMarr staring at Malloy with borderline stars in your eyes multiple times, and each time LaMarr gave you a smirk of some kind when you were caught. You could remember with borderline horror the day the Captain had caught you, when the whole of you were enjoying a drinking sim, having a good time, and you’d been staring at Gordon for what had probably been five or so minutes as he talked and joked with much of the crew, and Captain Mercer made eye contact with you, and you could swear you never saw a look that so clearly communicated that someone knew you were head over heels for someone. And, of course, you had let it slip before after a few too many glasses of wine with the girls, which lead to incessant teasing later.
Claire shrugs off your shock, agreeing with the other two. “He’s said some things when you aren’t around that sure sound like you’re dating,” she affirms.
“Like what?” You feel a little baffled. You weren’t the best with romance, sure, but you were pretty sure Gordon didn’t treat you much differently than he treats his other friends.
“Just little comments here and there, it’s nothing, maybe we’re taking it the wrong way,” Talla tries to cover, waving her hand.
Claire looks a little confused, refilling her glass and yours. “Just little comments about you that sound a lot more than friendly, nothing graphic or anything, just… well, you know.”
But you didn’t know, and opened your mouth to say as much, before Kelly interrupted you. “Just comments about your hair, or your eyes, or your laugh… He’ll sneak you into conversations that have nothing to do with you if he can. With how Gordon is, we just kind of… assumed something was going on.”
You look between the three of them, taking a deep breath and chugging your glass of wine down. “Okay. I think I’m gonna go.”
“Wait-”
But you’re up and on your feet, heading for the door, heading out, and righting yourself, taking a deep breath and letting it out. As it stands, you’ve got two options as you see it. You could sleep on it, or you could go confront him right now. Tipsy from the wine, the second option seems like a totally great idea, but the rational part of your brain makes you head for your own quarters and your own bed.
When morning comes, your head aches a bit, but you get yourself up with your alarm, getting yourself a glass of water and nursing your headache.
It's two hours later that you remember you’re supposed to meet Gordon at the simulator, and your headache worsens. You think about canceling, but he’d seemed so excited to show you the sim he’d made, so you gather yourself up to get dressed, managing to only be about 10 minutes late, but it looks like he doesn’t even care, face lighting up when he sees you.
“Hey!” His smile makes you smile, and you almost forget about your conversation with the girls last night.
“Hey,” you greet him back. “So… what’s this new sim you’ve been working on?”
He looks a little bashful, which is a bit of a surprise, and he hits a few buttons on the keypad before the doors slide open, and he motions for you to head inside before him.
The pair of you step in, and you’re astounded to see a near-perfect recreation of San Francisco in the 1990s, something you’d told him you’d seen images of before and fallen in love with. You turn to look at him, watching him shrug his shoulders like its no big deal. “It’s beautiful, Gordon. How long did it take you to code?”
He shrugs the question off, a one-shouldered thing with nothing behind it, and instead, he places an arm around your shoulders, moving towards the beach area, the setting sun casting an orange glow over everything. “I’m glad you like it,” he says instead, taking a seat on the beach and gesturing you down beside him, a seat you gladly take, leaning back on your hands. “I know you said this was a time on earth you thought looked pretty.”
“It is,” you agree easily, eyeing him. “I didn’t think you were paying attention when I was talking about it.”
He tilts his head, looking out over the ocean and the sunset. “I usually listen to the things you say.” He reaches over to nudge your arm gently as you scoff at him.
“Well… it really is beautiful, Gordon. I appreciate it.” You hesitate for a moment before reaching over and patting his hand before pulling back a tad. “It looks even better than the pictures.” And you mean that. The colors are vibrant, and the ocean and sunset look stunning.
“Just had some free time and wanted to make something you’d enjoy,” he dismisses your compliment again. “I know you’ve spent a lot of time in some of my sims that were probably kind of boring.”
“Boring? I wouldn’t call them boring.” You gently kick his leg. “They're not anything I’ve seen before, that’s for sure.”
He gives you a little smile, and the two of you relax for a moment before the girls’ comments from the night before start to eat at you, and while you stare out over the horizon, you pull yourself together to bring it up. “So… the girls said you’ve been talking about me?”
You don’t have to turn and look at him to know he’s turned red, though you definitely spot it in your peripheral, and you’re pretty sure you can see him fumbling for a response, even though you haven’t really accused him of anything awfully incriminating yet.
“Well, yeah, I mean, we’re pretty good friends, so, yeah, I talk about you sometimes,” he covers, and if Kelly hadn’t been so specific about the kind of things he said, you might have let him off.
“Yeah?” You nudge him with your foot again, making a small humming noise. “Are you going to tell me how long this took to code?”
“It took a while,” he answers vaguely, not making much eye contact.
“Well, I can tell it would take a while. It’s very detailed, I can’t believe you made everything so vibrant.” You touch the sand below you, feeling the grains under your fingertips. “How long is a while, Gordon?”
He hums and haws for a moment, trying hard to make an excuse of some kind, or a vague answer, but when you fix him with a stern look, he gives in. “Only, like, a week or so, but I’ve been working on it in my free time only, really.”
“A week? For a sim for a friend?” You gape at him, shocked. “Malloy, that is insane.”
He blushes, the tips of his ears turning red. “I just wanted to spend time in a sim you’d enjoy more than mine. And I know,” he interrupts as you open your mouth to speak, “I know you say you have fun with mine, but… this is something for you. That’s all.”
You can feel your own face get warm, and you slide a little closer to him, looking straight ahead at the horizon as you do, flustered when he turns to look at you funny. You slide up to his side, wrapping one of your arms into his. “Thank you, Gordon. It’s very sweet of you.”
He makes a noise, disregarding your thanks, or at least trying to, as you lean up to kiss his cheek. Your nerves are on fire, and you’re sure his are too, and he seems surprised by the kiss.
“I know, as friends, we do favors for each other all the time,” you start, “but this… feels a little more than that.” You see him open his mouth to argue, so you continue, “Commander Grayson thought we were dating.” You can see him turn away from you, hiding his face. “She says you talk about me like I’m more than a friend. Are we… more than just friends, Gordon?”
You can practically see the wheels turning in his head, even facing away from you, and he seems undeniably anxious. “I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought about it,” is what he settles on saying, shrugging his shoulder, trying to make it seem like he wasn’t saying what he was saying.
“I’d like to be more than friends,” you finally give in, putting your cards on the table. “If that’s something you’re open to.”
There’s a long few beats of silence, and you start pulling from him, sure you’ve just taken something that was probably nothing- Gordon is such a talkative guy, it was probably nothing- but he wraps the arm you’ve let go of around you, pulling you to lean your head on his shoulder.
He’s silent for a bit longer before he speaks, clearly having trouble choosing his words. “So… does that make this our first date?”
You laugh at him, turning your head and bringing your hand up to turn his, kissing him gently before answering him, pulling back to grin at him. “I’m okay with calling this our first date.”
“Awesome,” he responds quickly, grinning at you. As the two of you turn to watch the sun continue to set, the beach itself darkening, you’re sure of one thing. A romance with Gordon will never be boring, and you’re so ready for the adventure it’s sure to be.

It's what you've been waiting for: DW counterparts for the Repressed!AU!!
DW!Sunny: Think if Ash Ketchum was responsible for carrying maps and actually did a great job at navigation. He used to live on a place called White Island, and was all monochrome until Captain Spaceboy's ship and came and saved him, which let him get away from the black and white, and become bright purples in his color scheme. He can solve puzzles, he can help defeat bad guys, he reads maps, and if he ever has a problem, his one and only Captain can help him out! He has a very "you're the child hero here" vibes to him, probably because he can never be that way in the real world... DW!Kel or Kellie: Kellie is part human, part lion, almost like a sphinx, hailing from the floating island of Dessertia; a sandy place sprinkled with golden desserts and large pyramids and temples. He bares himself with his golden spoon... spear? and is ready to protect the tombs on his land... except he somehow got pretty far away from home! That means he has to stick with Spaceboy's crew until he can get back to Dessertia! He acts a little meaner than DW Kel does, as well as a little prideful and easily flustered/embarrassed if he gets something wrong, but can still be playful and childish when he can be. The only time he's serious is when he's talking about his home and the temple he has to protect once he gets there. DW!Aubrey or Brey: A cowardly, sheepish half-goat half-human hybrid, the type to hide behind people and easily tear up and cry. She got lost as well, first in a quiet forest for one moment, and now she's on this scary new island with nowhere to go!! After Spaceboy calms her down, she sticks along in hopes of getting safety and feeling protected. Brey easily flinches at things, loudly gasps, and if she gets to scared, she falls and freezes up, just like a fainting goat. Because Kellie often drags her around or accidentally makes mean comments, she mostly hides behind Spaceboy or Sunny, as they make her feel safe and can help to calm her down if she gets too frightened. DW!Hero or Henne: A pharaoh of Dessertia who had been originally sent to sleep in a sarcophagus to heal from the greatest wound of all... a broken heart. However, being awakened early, he became a giant, monstrous mummy, trying to curse the group!! Thankfully, after being defeated, he snaps out of it and is back to his pharaoh self. Unlike his mummy form, he's usually quite polite, although butts heads a bit with Spaceboy a little, since he's used to being in control of it all since he's Pharoh. He also keeps asking Sunny if he remembers things, which Sunny doesn't get. He's the navigator, silly! Sunny doesn't forget anything! ...right? DW!Basil or Basile: Half-human, half-snake, never seen in the colorful parts of Dreamworld. He waits on White Island instead, staying bitterly patient as he expects his prey to return... he bears the fruit of knowledge, after all. DW!Mari...?: A familiar girl with a white dress and lily of the valley flowers in her hair. Sunny can sometimes see her in the corner of his eyes, or maybe going around a corner, behind a tree, within a crowd, but he has never yet caught up to her or found her...

hey, i really really appreciate this blog, it's been super helpful for getting newbies like me into the pwhl/woho.
you seem to know a lot about woho, so i wanted to ask: is there any "problematic" (for a lack of a better term) pwhl players we should avoid? i just want to make sure i don't become a fan of a player whose opinions are Not Great lol
tysm 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
As a disclaimer I'm not the best at like instagram/twitter so if someone i didnt mention posted something wild and i missed it my bad. Admittedly, im also american and know more about the american players than canadian.
in general id say a lot of women's hockey falls into like center-liberal white liberal politics, so you some tone deaf statements and on a whole a lot of players are less likely to be outspoken politically compared to their counterparts in women's soccer or basketball, but I don't recall anyone who's currently rostered in the PWHL posting anything wild or pulling tony deangelo esque shenanigans. luckily a lot of the openly bigoted players from the last few seasons have retired or do not play in this league right now. This is not to say it is all sushine and rainbows, there's been players like both Lamoureux twins who've campaigned for transphobic legislation and no players have spoken out against them despite many working with them in the past, Kelli Stack who's been repeatedly racist but a lot of the team usa girls from 2014-2018 hang with her, or players like Rebecca Russo and Kelly Babstock who engaged in anti-black racism back in 2021 and had a lot of teammates at the time stand with them or not call them out.
In short, there's a lot of people who have failed to speak out when the moment has called for it, and a larger cultural problem in women's hockey with enabling especially when it comes to racism ad transphobia, but no one currently who has said anything explicitly horrible to my knowledge
That said, we'll probably see britta curl next year who is a top college player/wisconsin captain and she has shared a lot of vilely racist and transphobic stuff. On that note, the PWHL also doesn't have a gender inclusion policy, which should be concerning.

This is from LSA but exactly how I’m feeling 👉🏻Chris got his feelings hurt by an actual fan being realistic/honest about this stupid relationship he’s in, but he’s not mad at the 25 year old that kept comments calling him a pedo & groomer under her IG pics. See, this is why his career is mid and why he won’t be moving up to any enviable roles. Worrying about the wrong damn thing.Worry about your lack of range Christopher Robert Evans. Worry about why you playing hide the Twinkie with someone in their 20s. Worry about your popularity and ability to still get roles due to the fact that people thought you were an upstanding guy and not the 41+ year old that still has the emotional maturity of 23 year old. Worry about Tarantino calling out your lack of talent when it comes to captain america and why only a few disagree with him. Worry about the folks online completely eating you up in the quote tweets saying you can’t play Gene Kelly because they would need someone with acting talent and dancing ability….none of which you have. Worry about your inability to dig deeper for emotions that don’t require you to just stare at a camera. The stupidest thing about this is that his account is public, anyone can make an account and still see what he’s doing….like retweeting those subpar interviews from that poorly thought out political site that’s still struggling to gain traction or relevancy. There’s something with this particular relationship that’s really got him bothered….more so than the others. Is there something that we are going to find out and you want to cocoon yourself from the fall out Christopher?

I can’t help but think that both he and his team have gotten to big for themselves
I don’t think he’s a bad actor, but he hasn’t really developed since CAWS, but he’s used to that Marvel money and esteem now, but all of that time is still basically one credit, and he hasn’t really needed to push himself as a performer in all that time.
He’s only getting roles in action movies was bug budgets, nothing else seem to be happening for him (Pain Hustlers, but I don’t get the impression it a big role), probably it’s the only film genre that he has recent receipts for, nothing else will hire him in the salary he’s looking for. (Rumours are going around that Gene Kelly isn’t kicking off because they can’t find a studio to give a budget big enough for him, or they don’t want him in the role.)
now we have this, PR or not, he looks a little dumb, or just not actually memorable at all to the GP, and I think his team has over estimated his audience pull without that loyal core following. For most people, he’s either internet boyfriend or Captain America, a cursory follow. He’s not even the political guy anymore. His PR scheme is leaning too much on the ‘Prince Charming’ pining onto relationships and family. He needs to switch up to either ‘serious actor’ guy or ‘philosophy guy’ (eg Garfield), but to carry this, he needs to put in more work. Either that, or embrace the Frat bro. Boyfriend/Unlucky lover is is an easy scheme for them, but it won’t hold out much longer.
People may watch his films once’s the are available for free on whatever streamer that already have, but how many people would really PAY to see any of a film simply because he’s in it (especially during these Financial Times) I didn’t, even before all this. His core audience did a lot of online promoting as well, and he is alienating a lot of these fans, and has been for some time.
if he wants to move forward in his career, I think he needs to go do more theatre and earn some stripes and hone skills, but I think he wants the attention a little more than he wants to admit. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s bad with money too and needs the movies trash cash.
just my thoughts on his career, wanted to share :)
I would definitely like to see him branch out. I think he wants that, too but I don't know if it's a case of him not getting those kinds of parts or if he's own insecurities are sabatoging him.

Warnings: none
Summary: will Elvis and Jillian fall in love after filming their first movie together? Will Elvis choose Jillian or Priscilla? Read on as Jillian falls in love with Elvis and see what happens between the two.
1963
Jillian is the president of her grade she is the most smartest kid in school and she's popular for her kindness and her beauty. Some girls don't like her but that doesn't stop her from being nice and caring to everyone.
Today she got up at 5 so she could have time to be ready and get out the door on time so they can decorate the school. Today the school is having a somewhat of a pep rally; she loved being the president of her grade it's some what like politics but it's fun when you have to plan party's and stuff with other presidents and their assistant presidents.
She walked downstairs her mother left her a note of the kitchen table.
~
Good morning Apple,
I hope you have a great day at school, your breakfast is in the microwave and your lunch money is in the drawer on the left. I'll see you to night me and daddy loves you.
Love mom
~
Jillian smiled she warmed up her breakfast and ate it she washed her dishes dried them off then put them away; she grabbed her backpack and her lunch money she looked up the house and got into her car she put her backpack in the back seat. Jillian cranked up her car it was pretty warm for it to be a normal Monday in February.
Not to far a man in a black car was watching her he had been watching her since last year in July taking pictures of her and taking notes of her. She looked behind her before backing out of the driveway she put the car in drive and made her way to her best friend's house Kelly Moore.
She pulled in her driveway and parked her car soon Kelly walked outside with their grade colors Blue and white. "Hey Lovey." Kelly said getting into the car Jillian smiled. "Hi." Kelly and Jillian was the school's popular duo Jillian was the sweet and bubbly ginger and Kelly was the go for it and having fun brown. Kelly protected Jillian she was like her big sister.
"Lovey did you get the decorations?" "Yes yes I remember this time. Their in the trunk." Once they made it to school Jillian parked her car and turned it off Kelly always took her keys for her or she will lose them. "Jill!" Someone yelled her nickname she turned around to see one of her boy best friends from her friend group recording her she smiled and waved.
She did a little dance and giggled Kelly opened the trunk a few of their friends helped them get the decorations out they walked in the school. Jack Harris one of the football players has a crush on Jillian but he was competing with Derek Williams, Charles Henderson, Harvey Clover, Edward Hartwell, and Danny Colebrook.
Derek had his team jacket on it was red, gold, and white. He was captain of the football team, he walked up to Jill and put his arm around her shoulders she looked up and smiled. "Hi Der!" She said Kelly kept an eye of all 6 boys and an even closer eye when they was close to her. She didn't want them breaking Jill's heart, her heart was to golden like a beautiful diamond. "Hey Jill. You look beautiful." She smiled. "Thank you Der, hey can you help me get this up there?" She asked pointing on top of the lockers. "Sure." He grabbed a chair and helped her on it Kelly noticed Jill's short skirt so she rushed over. "Hey Derek give me your jacket right quick." Derek didn't question her he just did as he was told and handed it to her. She tied the jacket around Jill's waist he noticed why she was doing that.
"Thanks Kel." Jill smiled before tapping the red ribbon the principal came up to them. "Good morning students." Jillian looked down and smiled. "Good morning Principal Wilson." "Jillian can you come to the office right quick?" "Yes sir, Kel can you finish this until I get back?" "Sure lovey go ahead." Derek helped Jillian jump down she handed the ribbon to Kelly and walked to the office.
"Jillian these came in not to long ago before you had arrived." Principal Wilson pointed to the big thing of flowers she gasped. "Wow." Jill walked up to the flower and smelled them they smelled wonderful. She tried picking them up but they were just to heavy. "I'm gonna go get Derek and Kelly." She rushed out of the office and ran up to where they were.
"Kelly, Derek I need your help." All 3 of them ran back to the office. "I can't pick up the flowers. Kel can you take them home for me."
After they finished decorating their side of the school and Kelly took those flowers home for Jill, Jill finished all 10 of her classes but she had to leave 10th class early so she could help people other students with setting up the gym the school cleaned it up yesterday so they didn't have to worry about. She was so tired after school but she had to go home and cook her some dinner. She parked her car and got out, she noticed her parents car still was gone so they were still out she unlocked the door and walked in closing the door behind her, she went straight up to her room and put her stuff away.
She looked at the flowers that Kelly placed on the island she sat on the stool she looked through them then saw a letter she took it out of the big thing of flowers, she opened the letter and read.
Dear Jillian
I know you don't know me yet but I know you I've been watching you thinking you would be great for what's next to come. jake had always known he liked boys, he known when johnny from next door made his little heart flutter when they played together as kids back in austin. jake's mamma, kelly, knew and somedays, jake thinks his dad, mark, a big gruff commander in the navy, knew too.
mark spent so much time putting jake in church and "manly" activities that jake barely had time to think about anything but god, getting into the naval academy, and making football captain.
church service was every wednesday and sunday and jake sat next to caroline willis every time, his boots knocking against her low heels, and their hands brushing accidentally when they reached into the pews for the same bible, a blush would dust her cheeks, matching the pretty red colour of her hair every time, and jake would smile back politely, drawing his hand back so she could grab the bible. his dad would nod at him from across the pews encouraging him every time he did.
he had tried to get jake to take her on a date but his mom chimed in saying jake should focus on football and jake's never been more grateful for her.
one day though, caroline didn't sit beside him, but terry mcadams did and jake was ass over tits for this boy. terry was a very good-looking guy on the football team with jake, a tall dark-skinned exchange student from jamaica, with a pearly white smile, a dimple on one cheek, and an accent that had jake swooning every time he heard it, and jake couldn't help but  stare at him whenever he got the chance.
so when jake's boots knocked against terry's church shoes, and their hands brushed when they went to stand up at the intermediate point of service, terry winked at jake and nodded his head for jake to follow him, and that's how jake ended up having this first kiss and his first spiral with religious guilt within the same night (but god was it worth it for the smile terry kept giving him when they returned to their seats when service started again)
jake's feelings for terry overcame his fear of god and his father so they dated in secret and jake even let terry meet his mama, and only his mama, officially as his boyfriend before he went back home to jamaica at the end of their senior year, leaving jake with a sweet kiss and pretty words dipped in a smooth accent and when he took jake’s virginity the night before he left. (jake cried the whole day after he went with terry’s exchange family to drop him off at the airport, curled into his mom’s arms because jake had been in love) (terry was in love too, and he went back home with a jake sized hole in his heart)
years later, jake swears he's never felt that feeling for anyone again until he met a boy in basics after he'd enlisted. bradley fucking bradshaw, he was tall, lanky, and had the worst mustache jake had ever seen, seriously, the thing looked like it had come straight out of a porno from 1989, but god, he was beautiful and jake got on his knees and prayed that night that the feelings he had would go away, but they only got worse. (of course they did)
every time jake saw bradley— rooster as jake had learned he was older than him by 4 years and already had his callsign, jake blushed from his head to his toes, and javy, his new friend could only laugh when he saw them together, shaking his head and telling jake that he has it bad as if he already didn't know that.
nevertheless jake tried everything to get bradshaw out of his mind. (to no success)
being the biggest asshole in a 10ft radius came as easy to jake as breathing but no matter how many times he and bradley butt heads jake would find himself wanting the other boy more and more, and if jake's bruised lips every time bradley dragged him into some supply closet and kissed him silly whenever they argued was anything to go by, bradley wanted him just as badly.
it all came to a head later when they were at top gun, jake and bradley were neck and neck for the top gun trophy, and one night after a few hours at the hard deck making eyes at each other, bradley took jake home and laid him on his bed like he was made of glass and kissed him so sweetly it made jake's head spin. bradley made him feel beautiful, whispering words of assurance, words that if jake thought hard enough sounded like confessions, pushing into him and drawing sounds and feelings out of him that jake had never felt before. at some point jake had started crying, his father's words bouncing around in his head right there with his pastor condemning him to hell for even thinking about another man, but none of that mattered, when bradley bradshaw grabbed his face gently, wiping away his tears and kissing him softly, "it's alright darlin', just focus on me okay pretty boy?" and who was jake to deny him anything, so he kept his eyes on bradley as he felt himself come undone with bradley right there behind him.
after they were done, jake felt bradley clean them both up, wrapping them both in a blanket and running his hands up and down his side, whispering sweet nothings and praises in his ears as he fell asleep.
the illusion was shattered the next day when bradley, ever the gentleman, dropped jake off at his house on base with a kiss (one so soft jake would've thought it was an apology) and a dead look in his eyes, "it's better if we don't talk about this again, okay?" and with that, he drove off in his bronco leaving a piece of jake's heart right with him.
going inside he stalked past javy who looked surprised to see him in tears and locked himself in the bathroom, taking off his shirt and seeing bradley's love marks and handprints on him, and all he could do was fall to his knees and pray and beg and sob for forgiveness because this was surely god's punishment, a reminder of the night he'd spent in bed with a man, a night laying in sin with a man he'd let tell him false words and mark his skin, and jake was going to live in this hell knowing he couldn't have him knowing what was waiting for him on the other side.
as he pulled himself up from his knees, putting his shirt back on and looking in shame in the mirror, jake thought bitterly, he wouldn't be feeling like this if he had gotten with caroline willis.

Blake Masters, the Republican nominee for Senate in Arizona, has repeatedly said the U.S. should clean house on the senior ranks of the military, pushing the claim that all the generals and admirals are “woke” and “left-wing” losers who’ve never won a war.
His solution? Fire them all, and promote “the most conservative colonels.”
“Your entire general class, they're left-wing politicians at this point. It's very hard to become a general without being some kind of left-of-center politician,” he said at an Apache Junction Ladies for President Trump event in August 2021, according to audio obtained by VICE News. “I would love to see all the generals get fired. You take the most conservative colonels, you promote them to general. Not because the ideology is important, but because the conservative colonels will be able to leave the ideology aside. They just care about an effective fighting force.”
This is far from an isolated comment. Masters, who won his primary with major financial help from his former employer and friend Peter Thiel and a key endorsement from former President Donald Trump, has repeatedly suggested that only conservatives can be trusted to set aside ideology and maintain an effective military—and that they’re the ones who should be in charge.
Masters explicitly called for a wholesale firing of the generals at least seven times between August 2021 and March 2022, according to a VICE News review of his remarks, and harshly criticized military leadership numerous other times.
“I think you probably want to fire most or all the generals and replace them with apolitical colonels, who will probably have conservative politics,” he said during a September 2021 Twitter Spaces event hosted by Josiah Lippincott, whose Twitter account has since been suspended, according to a recording of the event obtained by VICE News.
In November, Masters put out a tweet calling the top generals “woke corporate bozos” and released an accompanying video where he proclaimed “our military leadership is totally incompetent.”
Tumblr media
Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, Masters’ opponent and a retired U.S. Navy captain and astronaut, featured that clip in his latest ad that looks to paint Masters, who has not served in the military, as an extremist.
It’s clear that Masters’ campaign video dissing the military’s top brass wasn’t a one-off.
“We just have to get serious again. And it means purging the military of the left-wing generals,” Masters said on the right-wing podcast Steak for Breakfast in February. “There's a lot of center-right or apolitical colonels that we can promote.”
“Basically every general above a two-star at this point is some kind of left-wing politician, and they need to be fired and retired, and you need to promote the apolitical colonels who actually want to be serious about, again, projecting lethality when called upon,” he said in March to Arizona conservative radio host Garret Lewis.
Peter Feaver, a former Navy lieutenant commander who served on the National Security Council during both President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush’s administrations and the author of multiple books on civil-military relations, said Masters and other conservatives were misunderstanding military leadership with their criticism of “woke” leadership.
"The military has to recruit from a diverse society and retain a diverse workforce. What he's calling 'woke' is primarily the military trying to manage a diverse workforce." he told VICE News.
And he said Masters' solution—replace supposedly liberal generals with a core of conservatives—would be disastrous, comparing it to the ideological purges of military brass in Russia that weakened the Red Army before WWII as well as before the current debacle in Ukraine.
“If you want to do something that would politicize the force and undermine lethality you could hardly design a more effective tool than to fire all the senior military leaders and then replace them with people chosen solely for their political views and not their professional merit. That is what Masters seems to be proposing,” he said. “That's close to what Stalin and Putin did. And that didn't work out well for them. Master’s cure is far worse than the disease.”
Masters and his campaign didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment for this story.
Much of Masters’ specific ire has been directed at Gen. Mark Milley, who Trump appointed chairman of the joint chiefs of staff in late 2018. Masters and other conservatives were enraged by Milley’s defense of a course at the U.S. Military Academy that included study of critical race theory last summer.
“I want to understand white rage, and I’m white,” Milley said during congressional testimony. “So, what is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America? What caused that? I want to find that out.”
Masters has mocked the general as “General ‘White Rage’ Milley.”
And it would be incorrect for Masters to assume that a random draw of colonels would necessarily yield a group that’s nearly exclusively conservative. While military veterans broke for Trump by a 10-point margin in 2020, according to national exit polls, active-duty military personnel actually leaned slightly toward Biden heading into the election, according to a pre-election survey conducted by Military Times and Syracuse University’ Institute for Veterans and Military Families. And the military is roughly as diverse racially as the broader U.S. society.
Masters’ harsh criticism of the military leadership is the latest in a long history of attacks from the right on ostensibly apolitical institutions; the impetus from some corners of the right is to imagine that the administrative state in all its facets must be biased against them. Trump’s long-running (and largely imagined) war against the “deep state” had similar tones. The idea that government bureaucrats are inherently liberal—and an effort to weed that out during Republican administrations—goes back to at least President Richard Nixon’s administration, if not Wisconsin Republican Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s witch hunt for communists in the State Department in the 1950s.
But Masters goes a step further. First, conservatives usually spare the military from these attacks on government officials, both because it’s a historically conservative institution and because the idea of an apolitical military under civilian control is such a fundamental cornerstone of American democracy. And second, while Masters says he wants to ensure an apolitical leadership, it’s hard to square that with his repeated suggestions to promote conservatives.
And Masters seems to have no issues with Trump’s own overt moves to politicize the military during his presidency, from his attempts to have a massive military parade as a show of force on the 4th of July to his plan to declare martial law and use the military to seize voting machines in the wake of the 2020 election, a plan he only backed off of when top White House attorneys threatened to resign in protest.
And the military isn’t the only national security organization where Masters wants to clean house. He has suggested similar purges should be made in the Justice Department and FBI so that they “aren’t weaponized against us” the next time the GOP wins back the White House.
“I’m really worried about this sort of ‘wokification’ of our military,” he said in a November Twitter Spaces event hosted by former Trump administration official Adam Korzeniewski, a recording of which was obtained by VICE News.
“The general core is rotten. You have to be like a left-wing politician to get promoted above a two-star general now. It’s not going to be an effective lethal fighting force if we’re teaching soldiers about social justice and diversity and inclusion and critical race theory, and we’re naming war ships after gay rights heroes instead of, you know, World War II admirals and stuff,” he continued. “So I think cleaning house in the military, cleaning house in the DOJ, FBI, making sure those institutions aren’t weaponized against us, that’s a huge project.”

Inspector Warren Jacobi (Tyrees Allen) – Lindsay's loyal partner. He was up for the lieutenant position that went to Tom, but has not expressed much disappointment that he didn't get the job, seeming to prefer field work to the politics of the higher position. He also seems to prefer the finer things in life, having an affinity for wine, 30-year-old whiskey, and opera. He is thrice-divorced and has a child from one of those marriages.
Lieutenant Tom Hogan (Rob Estes) – Lindsay's ex-husband, who in the first episode was promoted to lieutenant and assigned as her boss. He is engaged in the pilot and has remarried by "To Drag and to Hold," but he still worries that Lindsay's obsession with her work will consume her. Tom was played by Christopher Wiehl in the unaired pilot.
Deputy District Attorney Denise Kwon (Linda Park) - Jill's immediate superior at the DA's office, she clashes with her over her "bleeding heart" style. She is also antagonistic towards Jill due to her past romantic history with Hanson North. When the show returned after the writers' strike, the first episode credits no longer showed her name. But by the second episode, she was back in the credits as a series regular.
Recurring cast[edit]
Luke Bowen (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) – Jill's ex-boyfriend. He is an ER doctor at the fictional Mission Cross North. Jill and Luke have recently broken up after he finds that she had slept with Hanson.
Hanson North (Kyle Secor) – Defense attorney who has a romantic history with Jill and is currently seeing her boss, Denise Kwon.
Ed Washburn (Jonathan Adams) – Claire's husband. Currently uses a wheelchair full-time after being shot while serving as a police officer.
Heather Hogan née Donnelly (Ever Carradine) – Tom's new wife. She is a kindergarten teacher who is eco-friendly, planning a green wedding.
Pete Raynor (Joel Gretsch) – Lindsay's love interest in season 1, who is in town for only two weeks.

Danielle Moné Truitt as Sergeant Ayanna Bell, squad supervisor of the OCCB task force and Stabler's current direct superior and partner.
Ainsley Seiger as Detective 2nd Grade Jet Slootmaekers, a former independent hacker who is recruited to the OCCB task force on Stabler's recommendation. She was requalified as an NYPD officer to work with the OCCB task force. In season 3 episode 16 ("Chinatown"), she is promoted from Detective 3rd Grade to Detective 2nd Grade.
Tamara Taylor as Prof. Angela Wheatley (seasons 1–2), a former math professor at Columbia University, ex-wife of Richard Wheatley, and a suspect in the hit ordered on Kathy Stabler. She committed suicide and presumably murdered Richard at the same time after discovering that Richard was responsible for her son Richie's murder.
Dylan McDermott as Richard Wheatley (seasons 1–2), son of notorious mobster Manfredi Sinatra, now a businessman and owner of an online pharmaceutical company who leads a second life as a crime boss, and was a suspect in the murder of Stabler's wife. He was presumed murdered by Angela after she discovered that Wheatley murdered their son Richie.
Nona Parker Johnson as Detective 3rd Grade Carmen "Nova" Riley (season 2, recurring season 2), an undercover narcotics detective working under Brewster's command to infiltrate the Marcy Killers. She retires from the NYPD and leaves New York after the murder of the gang's leader Preston Webb.
Brent Antonello as Detective 2nd Grade Jamie Whelan (season 3), a detective with the OCCB. In the season 3 finale, he is shot and paralyzed by Kyle Wilkie and later dies in the hospital.
Rick Gonzalez as Detective 2nd Grade Bobby Reyes (season 3–present), an undercover detective with the OCCB.
Chicago pd
Jason Beghe as Sergeant Henry "Hank" Voight, the enigmatic and often mercurial chief of the Chicago P.D.'s Intelligence Unit. Despite his brutal, tough exterior, he is loyal to the cops and detectives serving under him and highly "dedicated" to the victims of the crimes his unit investigates to the point of committing human rights violations, mainly torture, and not respecting the law. He is first introduced in Chicago Fire as a dirty cop who clashes with CFD Lieutenant Matthew Casey after Voight's son, Justin, causes an accident in which a teenager is paralyzed, and Casey, who was first on scene, had intended to testify that Justin was DUI. He is arrested by Det. Antonio Dawson for trying to have Casey silenced by force but is later released from prison and reinstated to the police force by Internal Affairs. As a result, many of Casey's colleagues dislike him, and Casey's superior Chief Boden has a love-hate working relationship with him. It is eventually revealed in the Chicago Fire episode "Let Her Go" that his dirty cop alter ego was part of an undercover operation to catch criminals and other dirty cops. Prior to taking command of Intelligence, Voight worked in the Gang Unit. His father Richard was a former CPD officer who was killed in the line of duty. Voight is a widower; his wife, Camille, died of cancer some years prior. His son, Justin, served in the Army and was killed in the last episode of season 3 while trying to help a friend. Voight took an interest in Erin Lindsay at 14 and raised her as his daughter.
Jon Seda as Senior Detective Antonio Dawson (seasons 1–6), an Intelligence Unit detective who previously arrested Voight for harassment and has since worked alongside him. Unlike Voight, he has limits on how far he will go to get criminals off the streets, as shown by the fact that he asks Halstead to stop Voight from killing anyone while on the hunt for Pulpo because he does not want it on his conscience. He and his ex-wife Laura have two children: Diego and Eva. He is the older brother of Chicago Fire character Gabriela "Gabby" Dawson. In season 4, he is offered a job at the State's Attorney's Office as Lead Investigator, which he accepts. After becoming disillusioned with the job, he returns to the unit in the first episode of season 5. In season 6, Antonio struggles with recovering from a shoulder injury and dependency on the oxycodone he is taking for the pain. After a dealer he owes kidnaps, beats, and rapes his daughter, Antonio, high on oxy, kills him in revenge. Though Voight and Ruzek manage to cover up the incident as self-defense, and Antonio successfully recovers in rehab, mayor-hopeful Superintendent Brian Kelton later gets the case reopened in order to take down the Intelligence Unit, and in the season finale, Antonio relapses after Ruzek is arrested after taking the blame for everything to protect him. In the season 7 premiere, it is revealed that Voight found Antonio and checked him into an off-the-books rehab clinic to get him clean again while also protecting his career. It was revealed several episodes later that Antonio resigned and moved to Puerto Rico to spend more time with his family.
Sophia Bush as Detective Erin Lindsay (seasons 1–4),[7] a tough Intelligence Unit detective and former CI whom Voight took under his wing when she was a juvenile delinquent. Because of this, she is closer to Voight than the other members of the unit. She has a half-brother, Teddy Courtney, who was taken by a pedophile ring at age thirteen and was found turning tricks in New York City 10 years later. She was in a relationship with her partner Jay Halstead from seasons 2 to 4. Near the end of the fourth season, Lindsay is accused of assault after she sticks her gun down a pedophile's throat in the interrogation room; facing possible dismissal from the police force, she accepts a job offer at the FBI in New York and leaves Chicago.
Jesse Lee Soffer as Senior Detective Jay Halstead (seasons 1–10), an Intelligence Unit detective who was Detective Lindsay's partner. A former Army Ranger, he is confident in his abilities and sometimes comes across as cocky. He also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, shown progressively during Season 5, later seeking therapy for it. He is the older brother of Chicago Med character Dr. Will Halstead. He was in a relationship with his partner Erin Lindsay from season 2 until she transferred to the FBI in New York at the end of season 4. He later marries fellow detective Hailey Upton in season 9. Following Olinsky's death and Antonio's resignation, Halstead becomes Voight's right-hand. He later resigns from the force early in season 10 after becoming disillusioned with the gray area the Intelligence Unit has to work in, and returns to the Army in a new job hunting drug cartels in Bolivia.
Patrick John Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek, a younger police officer recruited straight out of the academy by Olinsky to do undercover work. He is often portrayed as an overeager amateur who dives headfirst into a situation without thinking. His parents are separated, and he split time between his father, "Disco Bob" Ruzek (Jack Coleman), a longtime patrol officer with the 26th District who lives in Beverly, and his mother in Canaryville. He was engaged to fellow police officer Kim Burgess.
Marina Squerciati as Officer Kim Burgess, a former flight attendant turned uniformed patrol officer who was Atwater's partner. She was then partnered with Sean Roman before his departure. Burgess is shot in "Called in Dead" and spends the next episode recovering. She was engaged to Adam Ruzek; the relationship is later broken off because of commitment issues. She later develops feelings for Roman before he moves to San Diego. In season 4, she is offered a job in Intelligence, which she accepts.
LaRoyce Hawkins as Officer Kevin Atwater, a uniformed patrol officer who was Burgess' former partner until he was promoted to the Intelligence Unit. He is responsible for caring for his younger siblings, his brother, Jordan, and sister, Vanessa. After his brother testifies to a grand jury about a crime he witnessed, and Vanessa is threatened with rape for her brother being a snitch, he sends them to live with their aunt in Texas.
Archie Kao as Detective Sheldon Jin (season 1), a tech and surveillance expert. He was discovered to be a reluctant mole working for Internal Affairs sergeant Edwin Stillwell, who had leverage to make him cooperate. He is found murdered in the first-season finale episode, "A Beautiful Friendship".
Elias Koteas as Senior Detective Alvin Olinsky (seasons 1–5), a veteran undercover officer and a friend of Voight who previously worked with him in the Gang Unit. Before joining the force, Olinsky served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team stationed in Vicenza, Italy. Olinsky mentions in "Called in Dead" that he has eight confirmed kills in the line of duty. At the end of the fifth season, Olinsky is arrested for the murder of Kevin Bingham, the man who murdered Voight's son, Justin, and is later stabbed to death via a hit in prison while awaiting trial.
Amy Morton as Sergeant Trudy Platt (season 2–present; recurring season 1), a sarcastic desk sergeant of District 21, and the immediate superior of the district's patrol officers. Before taking a desk job, she was a uniformed patrol officer, and worked with Dawson. She passed the detective's exam twice. Platt is married to Chicago Fire character Randy "Mouch" McHolland.
Brian Geraghty as Officer Sean Roman (seasons 2–3; guest season 7[8]), a brash patrol officer who partners with Burgess after transferring to the 2-1 from District 31. He transferred out because of his relationship with Jenn Cassidy (Spencer Grammer), who is now a K-9 officer, to avoid breaking fraternization rules. He has his own private security company on the side. After being wounded in the line of duty, and with the department feeling he would be unable to return to patrol, he resigns and decides to join the San Diego Police Department.
Tracy Spiridakos as Detective Hailey Upton Halstead (season 5–present; recurring season 4), a tough former robbery-homicide detective and Erin Lindsay's replacement following her departure to New York. Upton gets transferred to the FBI field office in New York City in season 7 episode 18, "Lines", to temporarily fill in for an agent undercover. She has great relationships with her CIs and goes to many lengths to protect them. Despite a dark turn in Season 7, she is mostly a "by the book" detective. She is married to former Detective Jay Halstead.
Lisseth Chavez as Officer Vanessa Rojas (season 7), a rookie and Antonio Dawson's replacement following his resignation. She previously worked in an undercover operations unit.
Benjamin Levy Aguilar as Officer Dante Torres (season 10; guest season 9[9]), a recruit who had a complicated past and was recruited under Detective Halstead's wing.Recurring[edit]
Samuel Caleb Hunt as Greg "Mouse" Gerwitz (seasons 1–4), the tech and surveillance expert for the Intelligence Unit who replaces Detective Jin. He had served in the same Army unit as Halstead. After he persuades Voight to get a felony expunged, he resigns from Intelligence to reenlist in the Army.
Stella Maeve as Nadia Decotis (seasons 1–2), an 18-year-old former escort and addict whom Lindsay tries and succeeds in helping. She later becomes the Intelligence Unit's civilian administrative aide and was studying to be a police officer. She was murdered by Dr. Gregory Yates in Law & Order: SVU's 16th season, episode "Daydream Believer", the conclusion of the season's second SVU/Chicago crossover event.

The lizzie bennet diaries
Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bennet (Ashley Clements;[11] Elizabeth Bennet in the novel) is the middle Bennet sister and the narrator of most of the vlogs. She is a graduate student studying mass communications and, like her original counterpart, believes women should be highly educated and do more with their lives than simply pursue husbands. She is very close with her best friend, Charlotte Lu, who was born on the same day as she, as well as her older sister, Jane, while appearing to have a more strained relationship with her younger sister, Lydia. While it is clear that she cares for her family and friends, she can also be fairly prejudiced and quick to judge people who she perceives as condescending or a threat to her way of life, such as Darcy and, at first, Bing Lee.
Charlotte Lu (Julia Cho;[12] Charlotte Lucas in the novel) is Lizzie's best friend and often the director/editor of her vlog. Charlotte wants to be a filmmaker and convinced Lizzie to start her vlog as part of a school project. While the original character of Charlotte Lucas from the books is a minor character, Lu's role in The Lizzie Bennet Diaries has been greatly expanded; she appears in many of the beginning episodes, and, according to both Lizzie and Jane, practically lives at the Bennet house. Charlotte and Lizzie have a falling out after Charlotte accepts Ricky Collins' job offer (which Lizzie originally turned down), but the two soon reconcile.
Jane Bennet (Laura Spencer[13]) is the eldest of the Bennet children, and an overworked, underpaid merchandise coordinator in the fashion world. She is incredibly polite, sweet and, according to Lizzie, "practically perfect in every way."[14] When Bing Lee moves into town, Jane is immediately smitten with him, much to the absolute joy of her mother. Jane is devastated by Bing's sudden departure. She moves to Los Angeles for both a new job and the hope of reconnecting with Bing. She later returns to her home to support her sister Lydia through her difficulties. After this is resolved, Jane is offered a new job in New York City and reconciles with Bing.
Lydia Britney Bennet (Mary Kate Wiles[15]) is the youngest Bennet child, currently attending community college. She is "feisty, energetic, and unapologetic."[16] Lizzie, somewhat less kindly, describes her as "too old to be on any reality shows about having babies in high school."[14] She has also created a series of her own videos starring herself, her cousin Mary, and her cat, Kitty.[17] On the occasion of her 21st birthday in December 2012, she and Lizzie get into a bitter argument about Lydia's perceived immaturity, and Lydia makes plans to vacation in Las Vegas for New Year's Eve, where she meets George Wickham and begins dating. Later, after being the victim of George Wickham's money-making site, she makes up with her sisters.
Bing Lee (Christopher Sean;[18] Charles Bingley in the novel) is a young, wealthy Asian-American medical student who has moved into The Netherfield House in the same neighborhood as the Bennets. He quickly falls for Jane Bennet and begins to date her. Bing abruptly leaves Netherfield and Jane by returning to Los Angeles, breaking Jane's heart, after Darcy suggests that Jane is only engaging in a relationship with him for his money and Caroline tells him that Jane flirted with another guy at his birthday party. However, after a run-in with Lizzie during her time at Pemberley Digital, he makes a return, having quit medical school to pursue his own passions. He and Jane move to New York together in episode 92.
Caroline Lee (Jessica Jade Andres;[19] Caroline Bingley in the novel) is Bing Lee's sister. She is aware of Lizzie's vlog diaries and appears to help Lizzie keep Bing and Darcy from discovering them during Lizzie and Jane's stay at Netherfield. She has a romantic interest in William Darcy, although her feelings aren't reciprocated. She is later revealed to have attempted to manipulate events to keep Bing and Jane apart, as well as (to a lesser extent) stymie Darcy's feelings for Lizzie. Caroline reappears in the sequel, Emma Approved, as Senator James Elton's fiancé, replacing Augusta Elton, the original wife of Philip Elton, from the novel.[20]
Ricky Collins (Maxwell Glick;[21] William Collins in the novel) is a former classmate of Lizzie and Charlotte's, who asks that he be addressed only as Mr. Collins. He has formed an alliance with venture capitalist Catherine de Bourgh, to attempt a foray into the world of web video. Mr. Collins frequently visits the Bennets while in town for a few weeks and, near the end of his stay, offers Lizzie a lucrative job at his company, Collins and Collins. Lizzie turns him down, so he offers the job to Charlotte, who accepts. This decision causes a brief but bitter argument between the two best friends, but they reconcile after Charlotte invites Lizzie to visit Collins & Collins (in the fictional town of Hunsford, California), where Lizzie also learns to tolerate Mr. Collins.
William Darcy (Daniel Vincent Gordh;[22] Fitzwilliam Darcy in the novel) is Bing Lee's best friend and the wealthy heir to an entertainment corporation called Pemberley Digital. He stays with Bing and Caroline at Netherfield until they all leave for Los Angeles. He first meets Lizzie at a wedding, and she overheard him telling Bing that she was "decent enough", which is when her dislike towards him starts. He is described by Lizzie as a snobby and condescending robot, and Jane has difficulty coming up with a flattering descriptor of him, beyond "tall";[23] Charlotte, however, believes that Darcy has a crush on Lizzie.[24] For a long time, second-hand characterization is all the audience has to go by, as Darcy is referred to but never seen, making his first appearance in episodes 59[25] (only from the neck down) and 60,[26] where he confirms Charlotte's suspicions by confessing his love for Lizzie.
George Wickham (Wes Aderhold[27]) is the coach of a university swim team who forms a short-lived romantic attachment with Lizzie. He claims that though he and Darcy were childhood friends, Darcy ruined his life by withholding money Darcy's father had promised, thereby ending George's hopes of a college education.[28] He leaves town for work, eventually re-entering the story after New Year's Day, where he meets and becomes romantically involved with Lydia, as chronicled in her spin-off videos. At the same time, Lizzie learns that George gambled away all the money the elder Darcy left for him, and then took advantage of Gigi Darcy, William's sister, for more. Finally, he attempts to exploit "YouTube Star Lydia Bennet" by releasing a sex tape of the two of them online.[29]
Fitz Williams (Craig Frank;[30] Col. Fitzwilliam in the novel) is Darcy's friend and colleague. Lizzie meets him while dining with Catherine de Bourgh, Darcy's aunt and Charlotte's boss. He has a boyfriend, Brandon, whose name was officially confirmed on Fitz's Twitter, and is particularly good at making care-packages.
Georgiana "Gigi" Darcy (Allison Paige;[31] Georgiana Darcy in the novel) is William Darcy's younger sister and a graphic designer at Pemberley Digital. Her first appearance in The Lizzie Bennet Diaries was Episode 77. She is aware of the video diaries, and claims to like them. She and George Wickham were romantically involved, but this ended when William proved that George was taking advantage of her for the money. Twitter posts between Gigi and Fitz suggest that she actively tries to push Lizzie and Darcy together. She is also instrumental in helping to end George's money-making plot: though the website itself did not list his name and George had stopped returning calls, he answers Gigi when she calls him, allowing Fitz and Darcy to track him down. Thereafter Darcy bought out the company which owned the rights to the sex tape, preventing it from ever being released.
Mrs. Bennet is Lizzie's mother. She appears to be a traditional Southern woman, eager to see her daughters married and interested in little else besides neighborhood gossip. She is almost always impersonated by Lizzie.
Mr. Bennet is Lizzie's father. He appears more calm and levelheaded than his wife, though one of his favorite activities, according to Lizzie, is winding her up.[32] He has a special fondness for bonsai trees and prepares a train extravaganza every Christmas. He is often impersonated by Charlotte and Lydia.
Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine de Bourgh in the novel) is Darcy's aunt and an extremely wealthy venture capitalist who is the primary investor in Collins & Collins, the new media firm run by Mr. Collins, where Charlotte accepts a job offer after Lizzie rejected it. Catherine is very attached to her sickly dog who she calls Annie Kins. She is quick with her opinions and judgements. Charlotte said that Catherine is "on Team Caroline," meaning that she wants her nephew to be with Caroline. She is impersonated by Lizzie, and Ashley Clements says her impression is a combination of Julia Child, Miranda Priestly and Dolores Umbridge.[33]
Mary Bennet (Briana Cuoco[34]) is Lydia, Jane, and Lizzie's cousin who has appeared sporadically in Lydia's vlogs and once in Lizzie's. She becomes better friends and occasional tutor with Lydia while Lydia is staying at her house despite their opposing personalities. She is often the "forgotten" character and her Twitter reads, "I am Mary, never forgotten." Mary also has a boyfriend by the name of Eddie (a subtle nod to the character of Edmund Bertram from Austen's Mansfield Park.)[35] In the novel, she is actually one of the five Bennet sisters, being the middle sister between Elizabeth and Kitty.
Kitty Bennet (Rosie of House Wiles) is Lydia's cat who appears in Lydia's vlogs. In the novel, she is actually one of the five Bennet sisters, being the second youngest after Lydia.

Friday Releases for April 28
Friday is the busiest day of the week for new releases, so we've decided to collect them all in one place. Friday Releases for April 28 include Sisu, Polite Society, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and more.
Sisu
Sisu, the new movie from Jalmari Helander, is out today.
During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word “sisu”, this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back – even if it means killing every last Nazi in his path.
Polite Society
Polite Society, the new movie from Nida Manzoor, is out today.
A merry mash up of sisterly affection, parental disappointment and bold action, POLITE SOCIETY follows martial artist-in-training Ria Khan who believes she must save her older sister Lena from her impending marriage. After enlisting the help of her friends, Ria attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret., the new movie from Kelly Fremon Craig, is out today.
For over fifty years, Judy Blume’s classic and groundbreaking novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. has impacted generations with its timeless coming of age story, insightful humor, and candid exploration of life’s biggest questions. In Lionsgate’s big-screen adaptation, 11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) is uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school. She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets.
Big George Foreman
Big George Foreman, the new movie from George Tillman Jr., is out today.
Fueled by an impoverished childhood, Foreman channeled his anger into becoming an Olympic Gold medalist and World Heavyweight Champion, followed by a near-death experience that took him from the boxing ring to the pulpit. But when he sees his community struggling spiritually and financially, Foreman returns to the ring and makes history by reclaiming his title, becoming the oldest and most improbable World Heavyweight Boxing Champion ever.
Peter Pan & Wendy
Peter Pan & Wendy, the new movie from David Lowery, is out today.
“Peter Pan & Wendy” introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl looking to avoid boarding school who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.
Clock
Clock, the new movie from Alexis Jacknow, is out today.
Directed and written by Alexis Jacknow, “Clock” is the story of a woman who enrolls in a clinical trial to try and fix her seemingly broken biological clock after friends, family, and society pressures her to have children.
SNAG
SNAG, the new movie from Ben Milliken, is out today.
An Australian lone wolf’s quiet existence is shattered when he learns that the woman he once loved and thought was dead is alive and held captive by ruthless gangsters. Now, to take on this dangerous criminal organization, he must seek out allies and storm into a world of violence to rescue the love of his life in this gritty, modern day violent fairytale.
AKA
AKA, the new movie from Morgan S. Dalibert, is out today.
A steely special ops agent finds himself in a moral crisis when he infiltrates a crime syndicate and unexpectedly bonds with the boss’s son.
Citadel
Citadel, the new TV series from David Weil, is out today.
Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency—tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people—was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. Getting politics off the court
… would require sequestering every voter! Like Captain Louis Reynault, the usual good government goo-goos are appalled — APPALLED! — that politics is going on in Wisconsin’s high-stakes supreme court campaign. Cutting to the chase, a certain former mayor pragmatically calls the Spring election, “a choice between two partisan hacks. Janet Protasiewicz is the Democrat and Dan Kelly is the…

Where are my fellow Georgia voters at? We’ve got WORK to do today to flip the Senate! 💙💙💙
If you haven’t already, get in line at the polls before 7pm tonight to make sure your voice is heard.
What’s on the ballot, you ask? 🗳🗳🗳
Economic relief - More jobs for Georgia, opportunities in new industries. That $2,000 stimulus check, too.
An actual response to the pandemic - efforts to save lives and support our healthcare workers. A plan to put an end to this by efficiently distributing the vaccine.
Equal rights across the board - investing in and empowering Black lives. Protecting and loving trans members of our communities. Protecting marriage equality. Welcoming immigrants into our communities and acknowledging the many ways they positively impact them.
Voter rights - making sure that everyone that has a right to vote may do so easily and without interference.
Women’s rights - protecting our right to choose what to do with our bodies. Fighting for equal pay for equal work.
Climate change and protection - keeping our planet healthy for future generations.
Holding corrupt politicians accountable - the Senate isn’t where anyone should be able to go and make a profit.
Clearing the way for effective change in the highest levels of our government. Believe me when I say that Mitch McConnell will do everything in his power to block any initiative by the incoming Biden administration. Let’s get him out of the way. It’s time he was demoted.
Get. To. The. Polls.

javid but they are the cliche romance between two team sports captains from different schools,, ough,,
PLEASE okay i'm gonna do a thing that i personally haven't seen anywhere and that's: football davey
jack is obviously 'Football Star' material. he understands the game, he can pack a punch, he's aggressive and powerful and good at what he does.
and davey is all of those things, too; he's just not as... vocal, as jack is.
so, what i'm proposing is: jack and davey both play against each other for the first time in freshman year. jack has played all through middle school at this point; he's one of the boys who is rarely off the field, he shows up to practice early and stays late, and he's basically an adopted son to the coach
so, naturally, jack is pretty damn good at what he does, even at a young age.
which is why he's SHOCKED with Jacobs, a tall, skinny beanpole of a freshman from the opposing school absolutely gives him a run for his money.
now, davey isn't the strongest, but he has strategy down pat. he has his little tricks and knows his way around plays, and when davey's team wins that night, it begins a very personal vendetta for jack.
i don't rlly know the ranks of high school football (bc my school's team SUCKED) but i'm imagining that somehow, jack's team and davey's team go head to head at state, and... davey's team wins.
cue a rivalry for the next three years.
sophomore year, jack's team wins.
junior year, davey's team wins.
they do this dance every year until the homecoming game during their senior year. it's homecoming at Jack's school, and they're going up against Davey's team again. game proceeds, Jack's team wins, yadda yadda
but it's not until after the game that jack gets to talk to david for the first time in a while.
"Not too bad out there, Kelly," David says as he approaches, and Jack takes a moment to look him over. He's grown a lot since freshman year; still tall, a little bit more muscle mass, and sharper features. "Didn't know you had it in you."
"Oh, shut up," Jack responds, taking his helmet off with a smirk. "What can I say, Jacobs? I'm just that good."
"Mhm. Tell that to your two lost championship games."
"Low blow, bro. Low blow."
And then David smiles, because of course he smiles, and Jack feels all of the air leave his lungs. "I'm just saying. Maybe this year will be your year?"
Jack scoffs. "Don't go easy on me now, Dave. I ain't fragile."
"Your masculinity is, but you can take a good hit," David teases. "I'll see you when I get that championship trophy!"
and it's conversations like that that make jack feel all fuzzy in his chest.
later that night, he finds david on instagram and follows him, and, to his surprise, david's instagram is like. not at all football-y? like he has pictures on their of himself in makeup and crop tops (sarah is a photographer; david just happens to be her model) and he speaks out about political issues and he talks about his favorite books and his favorite classic literature works and it ABSOLUTELY throws jack through a loop
because david is the quarterback of the team, and david is... like this on social media.
anyway, jack probably messages him, and david messages back, and they just,, don't stop talking.
like every day up until the championship game, they're talking. they call each other when jack goes on runs, they call each other while davey is working out, they call each other late at night when they're supposed to be sleeping because they both have a game tomorrow but, oh well
finally, championship game rolls around.
and long story short, jack's team wins.
also up until this point, all of jack and davey's conversations have been nothing but flirty. these boys are FRUITY
and everyone is celebrating on the field, but then someone yells for everyone to move because, OH, david jacobs is making his way across the field, and he literally looks like he has murder on his mind
so jack starts walking toward him
and EVERYONE is freaking out bc "oh SHIT the two quarterbacks are gonna fight"
bbut they meet in the middle and david is staring jack down, chest to chest, and all of a sudden david grabs jack's waist, pulls him closer, and kisses him
and there are a few gasps
but then the crowd loses their MINDS when they see jack kiss back
and when david pulls away, he looks down at jack, smiles, and says, "congrats, kelly. you did good."
and then he walks off, and jack walks back to his team with a smirk, and acts like nothing happened.
the next day, they meet up in the city and post their first official "couples photo" to their instagrams
GOD I LOVE FOOTBALL AUS SO FUCKING MUCH
