He looks so much like his dad in this

The rollercoaster of emotions I felt. Intense joy and then gasping. This man’s way of manipulating her is to just say she special to him just so she doesn’t feel bad about talking smack about his mom for the movie 😂. “Manipulating” Kana vs. Manipulating everyone else is so different.
I don’t recall him laughing like this when he tried doing it to others. It was always a cold expression. If he was a more stable bitch, he would’ve been giggling, twirling his hair, kicking the air rn. He has Kana brainrot I swear.
The way he made her switch from actor-> idol was a lot more manipulative than thisssss. But back then he was justifying that, now he’s just accepted what he’s doing and even muttering to himself how Kana should be more careful. Bruh

Servamp Chapter 117 translation “When you are not alone”
Tumblr media
Read on Mangadex.
Enjoy the chapter! Don’t have much to say about it because I talked about it on my stream. Man, Nicco’s Lead has quite some interesting abilities. Maybe it will be explained just how he tracks the targets? I mean, he does he have some kind of GPS tracker to see the locations of those he shot? xD Also, I had to look into chapter 102 when Nicco shot Hugh so I could understand why there were only 8 bullets left as stated in this chapter, I’m not good at math :)) Not sure why he had to discard 2 of them at the time when he attacked Hugh. He missed 3 shots but also managed to hit him 3 times and after that he discarded 2. That means 8 bullets and 2 nails, basically the same Lead, recall that his Lead is supposed to be the nails apparently, Nicco used 2 of them against Jeje. So, ten bullets in total and that’s why there were only 8 left because apparently,  the maximum number of bullets that could be produced was 36 but it was halved after Ildio got attacked by Tsubaki. Oh yeah, Tsurugi was savage xD When I first read the chapter on stream I was like “Did he say that he wanted to put Mikuni to sleep?" xD Man, the banter between those two! Tsurugi was teasing him by calling Mikuni “young master”. Also, it was only after reading what Mikuni said that I was able to understand the title of the chapter because it was ambiguous the way it was written like that, but it made sense when the title was part of Mikuni’s line “You can be weaker when you are not alone.”

The boys are back in Japan. We have a new case. It sounds like a good ghost story for Christmas holidays.

That the Blue incident has become a sensation abroad means that Toto’s face is on the international newspaper.
Tumblr media
More than a year reading this manga and I finally learn to know that Ron indeed is a landlord with living, breathing tenants in the house.
Is it a prank? Or is it a really a supernatural case? Who’s pulling it? Ron’s mother ? Alice M?
Tumblr media
Ron’s face here indicates that he’s also baffled.
On the other hand, let me marvel at Ron’s house.
Tumblr media
Maison du K, lobby/hallway interiors, very Art Nouveau, the ornate metalwork takes me back to Prague.
Tumblr media
The Maison du K, exteriors, with a marquee above the entrance door, that resembles more the English/European red brick houses, rather than the typical Le Corbusier buildings.

Somewhere in Copenhagen, Denmark.

One final round of interesting differences between the older translation (anonymous) and newer translation (by Robin Buss) of The Count of Monte Cristo:
«Est-ce là Monte-Cristo? demanda d’une voix grave et empreinte d’une profonde tristesse le voyageur aux ordres duquel le petit yacht semblait être momentanément soumis. —Oui, Excellence, répondit le patron, nous arrivons. —Nous arrivons!» murmura le voyageur avec un indéfinissable accent de mélancolie.
“Is that Monte Cristo?” asked the traveller, to whose orders the yacht was for the time submitted, in a melancholy voice. “Yes, your excellency,” said the captain, “we have reached it.” “We have reached it!” repeated the traveller in an accent of indescribable sadness.
“Is that Monte Cristo?” asked the traveller, who appeared to be in command of the yacht, in a grave and melancholy voice. “Yes, Excellency,” said the master. “We are just reaching the end of our journey.” “The end of our journey!” the traveller muttered, with an indefinable air of dejection.
(“We are just reaching the end of our journey” is unlikely to be a strictly accurate translation of “nous arrivons”, but I don’t think that “we have reached it” captures the significance as well. It’s not just the journey to the island that is coming to an end.)
“Never mind that, Maximilian,” said Monte Cristo, smiling. “I have made an agreement with the navy, that the access to my island shall be free of all charge. I have made a bargain.”
“Don’t bother about that, Maximilien,” Monte Cristo said with a laugh. “I have a deal with the navy, so that there is no charge for passage to my island. I’m an account customer, as they say in civilized countries.”
(A bit more detail about Monte Cristo’s arrangement with... I’m not sure that “the navy” sounds right, since we’ve never seen him have much to do with the navy, but I don’t know whether “la marine” can also refer to mariners in general.)
—Oh! non, non, comte! s’écria Morrel en saisissant de nouveau les deux mains de son ami; riez au contraire, soyez heureux, vous, et prouvez-moi par votre indifférence que la vie n’est mauvaise qu’à ceux qui souffrent.
“Oh, no, no, count,” cried Maximilian, seizing the count’s hands, “pray laugh; be happy, and prove to me, by your indifference, that life is endurable to sufferers.
“Oh, no, no, count,” Morrel exclaimed, once more grasping his friend’s hand with both of his. “Please do laugh. Be happy and prove to me by your indifference that life is only a burden for those who suffer.
(That’s not quite the same thing. Nor is this:)
Then it appeared to him that Monte Cristo smiled, not with the strange and fearful expression which had sometimes revealed to him the secrets of his heart, but with the benevolent kindness of a father for a child.
And now it seemed to him that Monte Cristo was smiling, no longer with that strange and terrifying smile that had several times allowed him to glimpse the mysteries of that profound soul, but with the tender compassion of a father towards the follies of his child.
