There's a part of me that definitely would like to do Kagurabachi fics but it's still too early to do so (at the time of this post, we're 19 chapters in) when events are focusing on the now (re: post-Sojo fallout, the Rakuzaichi auction and the Sazanami family plus Hakuri) and the worldbuilding is spoken of and hinted at but is still in the process of laying down its foundations.

#its worldbuilding reminds me of early naruto #as in: it feels quite lived in #but it's so far focused on a rather microscopic level b/c we're given fly-on-the-wall views of certain sects of japan #a'la the hishaku the kamunabi chihiro and shiba and even azami #even a peek into the window that was a specific moment of char's life at the end of the first arc #i actually think kagurabachi - so far - has done this better #whereas early naruto got hamstrung by editorial influence #as in: OG naruto was going to have more chapters dedicated to missions before the chuunin exams #chapters that i think would have served to expand the world- and character-building well #but that in itself is its own critique that i think has probably been made by others as naruto is an established work #whereas kagurabachi is still taking steps to paint the bigger picture #and you don't want to drop your worldbuilding all at once #you have to introduce it and address it gradually #and that is a process kagurabachi is succeeding at with all the hints of lore macro and micro being dropped #this is what i mean when i say you have to let your story breathe #is kagurabachi fast-paced? yes. but it also coasts long enough to allow enough room to breathe before it hits the gas when it needs to #armi reads manga

Chihiro is not female. I understand where you are coming from but he is not female. Chihiro coming out as not being female is a big reason he was killed. That was a very important part of his trial that happened.

Okay I did a character ai for Spirit Blossom Aphelios and it turned out super cute. Basically, in that ai, Aphelios wanted to be human and turned himself into one just so he can stay with me forever. I figured I can expand on this for Seol in particular because like all my character ai’s, I don’t really know how to start things and I just went with whatever the ai goes with?

Seol’s is pretty much exactly the same as the runeterra version. She’s still a Vastaya, except she doesn’t go to Targon.

Her survivors guilt from being one of the last ones of her tribe consumes her and during a particular Spirit Blossom festival, she drowns herself in a lake expecting to herself to die. She doesn’t, and ends up in the spirit realm with Alune and Aphelios. As she stays in the Spirit Realm, they help her heal from her guilt and the grief she had from losing her family (And befriending some other spirits along the way, such as Kindred and Lillia).

Meanwhile Aphelios, gains the ability to feel and speak for the first time in centuries. He falls in love with Seol and so does her. Seol doesn’t want to go back to the living world without Aphelios, and Aphelios wants to keep protecting her from it. After some encouragement from Alune, he turns into a human and follows Seol into the living world. The two of them are free to be with each other forever and see the world, starting with the altars people have made for them. Aphelios is able to live not as the Twin Spirits Of The Night, but just as himself, finding purpose in seeing Seol smile and protecting her. Seol’s able to live her life to the fullest, healed from all the pain she experienced as a Vastaya, with Aphelios by her side. The two of them are deeply in love with each other by the end, finding their happiness with each other in the human world.

they are ABSOLUTELY food friends. burger buds. i feel like their go-to would be trying out new places together!! if it gets too late and the trains aren't running/it's too dark to take public transport alone safely chihiro knows she's always got a safe spot at the hagakure home!! hiroko's super happy that her son has such a good friend (and she's really chill in general), so impromptu sleepovers are pretty common!

i also have a hunch that they like to snack into the late hours while playing board games. yasuhiro is surprisingly good at them.. he can pull out the Tactics sometimes (if he remembers them) but chihiro is an absolute wall when it comes to strategy!! picture being on the receiving end of 2 skips in a row, a reversal and a draw 4 all in the same turn during a 2 person uno match and maybe you'll feel some of his pain :D

i am so so so so so glad that you enjoyed yugami kun cuz like. i hold up yugami's final chapter as one of the best endings ive ever read nobody was acting out of character and it just fept like the perfect conclusion to everything

you're absolutely right!!!!! i thought ch80 was the last one for a sec and honestly it was good enough to me as an ending (the line "yugami-kun doesn't have any friends but he is a friend to me" was everything i wanted and more) but. But. bc this manga is the most wonderful thing ever and the author manages to outdo themself every time of course it couldn't end just there. and ch81 came. oh my god soooo so good. yugami wanting to be an astronaut!!! chihiro going to watch his baseball game!!! the fact that yugami kept inviting her to watch heiraku for months just so she could listen to his story bc she was the only one who could understand how important it was!!!! so yugami in such an endearing way. the way chihiro knew something was up but she still waited for him to tell her. yugami telling her they'll keep meeting bc heiraku's always polishing his story T_T yugami waiting for her to give her the ticket but pretending it was a coincidence. "we're not friends but let's go together" 😭😭😭😭 i love them endlessly it was the perfect way to end their story

Originally a weak Hamon User, Ringo Akiyama is a Cacciatore-Zeppeli descendant living in the small town of Morioh who awakens to a Stand after being shot with the Stand Arrow by Otoshi. Often outcasted amd bullied growing up, Ringo became very shy and timid as a teenager. He developed near-crippling social anxiety and was often seen alone during school or when not with family. It takes the extroverted Duwang Gang and his cousins to get him to finally take a risk and start to come out of his shell.

Because of his social anxiety, Ringo had become selectively mute. It became difficult for him to find the courage to muster up even a few syllables. Now, he only speaks in private or when he's certain no one else will hear to family and friends -- people that he is comfortable around. The only other way to get him to break his silence is by pushing him to extreme anger and getting him to lash out, which is extremely rare due to Ringo's pacifist nature. Either way, Ringo will often remain silent in public. To get around this, he will use JSL to communicate, or write down his words on a whiteboard that he carries around with him on occasion. It should be noted that when his friends ask to learn JSL from him, Ringo gets overwhelmingly happy.

When around strangers or people he is uncomfortable with in general, Ringo clams up and refuses to speak in front of them, relying on his alternative methods instead. Towards these people -- one example being Rohan Kishibe -- Ringo displays only his shyness and timidity. His anxiety gets the better of him in these situations, usually relying on others to help put him at ease if he can. Ringo will only speak if he absolutely has to or is pushed to the brink by an enemy. It is because of this projected personality that enemy Stand Users often underestimate him and his abilities.

Ringo becomes a near-completely different person around those he's comfortable with, such as his friends and family. He becomes warm and kind, doing his best to reassure others and keep their own anxieties from affecting them the way that his affect him. Ringo also had a habit of becoming attentive and affectionate towards those he cares about. Not only does this make him great support in battle and very observant of his surroundings, it also makes him a decent caretaker. Ringo is typically the one who looks after the younger members of his family during gatherings or in general when his parents are away. During the events of Diamond Is Unbreakable, he is noted to often be watching and caring for his younger brother Chihiro, as well as his younger cousins, Jolyne and Mickey Kujo.

Ringo eventually comes to be the User of the Stand "Sergeant Pepper", following an incident where he had been shot with the Stand Arrow by Akira Otoshi in an effort to protect Chihiro and Jolyne from being struck. For a while after developing his Stand, Ringo is terrified of Sergeant Pepper. And it's not because of the Stand's appearance, either. Alrhough the Stand can allow Ringo to hear heartbeats, this stems from Sergeant Pepper's primary ability is to control a person's blood flow.

Before learning to control him, Sergeant Pepper would stop the blood flow of those who were deemed a threat while Ringo was worked up or actively having a panic attack It's enough to freak him out significantly to the point where he believes that his power is a curse. Eventually, with a little help, he begins to see his power in a different light. His power doesn't have to be a curse that only kills. He learns to use it to passively take out enemies by reducing the blood flow to their brain until they lose consciousness. He's able to keep a person's heart beating when it can't on its own, long enough for help to arrive or for them to be healed by another Stand's ability. With the side effect of hearing heartbeats, he becomes able to tell when a person is lying. He learns that just because he has this power, it doesn't make him a killer. With the way he uses it, it makes him a savior.

Although the breathing technique originally became a way for Ringo to keep himself calm when anxious, his use of Hamon has become a defense mechanism for him. With Sergeant Pepper acting as Ringo's offense, Hamon comes into play as his defense -- reflecting outward to repel what damage it can and acting as a shield to protect Ringo and those he's in physical contact with from harm.
