Hey I’m sorry for your physical impairment! I also have a relative that suffers from chronic physical pain and I am sorry you have to live like this! Sorry if it’s been asked before but how long have you suffered from it? Where you born with it or did it worsen over time?

you don't have to apologise, lol. but without going into detail i've had it since i was 9 months old due to an incident that i will not go into the details of (you'll have to wait until i'm posting while angry/inebriated for that) but the end result was stunted muscle development alongside some other stuff. so i have a bunch of muscles in my left leg and foot that either semi-frequently seize up hard or straight up don't function at all/might not even be there. for example: i can't curl my toes on that foot! just can't do it, literally at all.

that + the fact the leg is literally a few cm shorter means i have an essentially lifelong limp and because i cant adjust my foot while walking it will frequently get roughed up or get very painful if i walk on it for too long, or don't walk on it at all for a while, or like, if it just feels like it in the morning somedays. they're also subject to PLMs especially at night which is very frustrating!

as a funny added bonus: i think there's some sort of clonus response in that foot, because when i hit it at the floor at the right angle, it will uncontrollably bounce until i move it and trying to push it down just makes it bounce harder.

#the clonus thing isnt RLS. i have that also but this is 100% involuntary. but it doesnt hinder me at all i consider it a party trick

Newcomers – desert and stone

Pixel art for today based on videogame Gods for game console Sega MegaDrive. It is  action. With interesting gfx. And game also was released for another systems. And commuters too. MS Dos, Amiga. I never played it. So hard to say about game. Some strange world. Ancient world like Conan the Barbarian. And unusual char.

And this is my 2d drawing about this theme. Under star Clonus there is a planet. It is world of deserts. And about 1000 years it is goes explore of ancients things and magic. Magic is near with sword and power. Kingdom Atlusu creates world of stability at the edge of desert. And what is going on in deep desert- no one knows. There are lots of ancient pyramids. And lots of mystery of ancients.

Amongst two deserts there is a place for a big adventure. So, this is my picture is about.

Therapy and Jesus and Coffee

Therapy and Jesus both get a bad rap. Those two things together though, have literally been my saving grace.

Coffee has always been a much needed start to my morning or the much needed pick me up throughout my day.

The start to this post probably doesn’t make a lot of sense. I’m half asleep sipping my coffee and felt the need to write.

I had my first physical therapy session yesterday at 11:30. I was there until 2 pm.

The time actually flew by.

I spent the first portion filling her in since the last time I saw her.

I took a few walking and balancing tests that I actually didn’t do too bad on.

Surprisingly.

Nancy tested my reflexes, I was worried I’d karate kick her with how spastic my legs get.

I’m happy to report I did not!

She explained that people who have spasticity tend to have curled toes, like I do, but my toes are still flexible so toe spacers will be helpful. She went on to say that commercially purchased toe spacers do not work for people like me, which they don’t.

So, she’s going to make special toe spacers that will be comfortable and able to be worn with shoes.

Nancy had me on a vibration plate for 10 minutes. It’s said to help my tone and lessen my spasticity.

Here’s hoping and praying.

She also gave me some new theraband and a stretching exercise for my legs and a strengthening exercise for my knees.

Last thing she explained is that I really need to focus on is walking heel toe. With hitting my toes first it’s what’s setting off my spasticity and clonus.

At the end of the appointment she raised the height of my walker. I’m still getting used to that.

One thing that sticks out is when Nancy asked if my HSP ( hereditary spastic paraplegia) is progressive.

Hell if I know.

I don’t know. I felt like Nancy may have been questioning UCSF’s thoughts.

The other prominent woman in my life, my friend, my counselor, my mentor, my therapist, is Tammy.

I definitely was blessed by God with her presence in my life.

I’ve been to quite a few therapists and I’ve never clicked with anyone like I do Tammy.

She’s an amazing godly woman and is so good at what she does.

It’s safe to say God knew that I’d need both Nancy and Tammy to live the prosperous life He promised me.

Whatever IS going on I’m doing my best to lean into Jesus and keep myself supernaturally hopeful.
