do YOU want to cross-stitch like it's 1992? through the magic of emulation, now you can!
I found a copy of Cross Stitch Master (Commodore Amiga pattern program) in a giant ROM dump on the Internet Archive, and got it working! and honestly it kinda rules

can the commodore send e-mail
Which Commodore machine?
If someone has figured out a way to do it with one of the 8-bit Commodore machines, I will be impressed.
I'm sure someone has a DOS program that can send email, which could run from one of the PC compatible Commodore machines
I'm also sure an email client was developed for the Amiga at some point.
However, I've never tried, or discussed the concept with anyone who has likely done either of those last two things.

Figure I should show off my "CD32" I was playing on on stream today :3
My Amiga 1200 with a SquirrelSCSI and a SCSI CD-ROM player, and the SquirrelSCSI "CD32 emulation" drivers :3
Of course, it's not really "emulation", I think it just translates the CD control commands to use the SCSI bus or something!
It's so neat I've got this all and working so smoothly!!! 😊 I've got a couple of very affordable CD32 games ordered now too! :P

What is there to say about an Amiga 1000 that hasn't been said by people more qualified than I to say it.
This unit is more or less stock although showing no signs of life when I got it. The prior owner fitted a pistorm to it that unfortunately corrupted it's install and will need to be rebuilt but for the time being I have installed the MC68000 CPU in it and it came up immediately.
Here's a tip where my normal troubleshooting method backfired, the A1000 needs it's WOM board installed to do anything so stripping the system down to it's motherboard for testing will only render a brick.
On a successful POST as it is, the system will ask for it's kickstart disk and load from that. Then it asks for the workbench disk. which is the actual OS. Kickstart is the systems extended BIOs and is loaded into the WOM board which is then gated so it can only be read afterwards. Supposedly, once the WOM is loaded, even if the machine crashes, so long as it's reset and not power cycled, you won't need to load kickstart again, I have not tested this at this time.
Surprisingly using workbench is very easy if you are used to OS's like classic MacOS. However unlike the Mac, the disk drive has a mechanical eject button so no dragging anything to the trash can to eject a disk. Right now since I don't have any applications or games for it, I just have a booting machine and not much else.
A quirk of the system, I'm not sure if it's something wrong with my system or it's just how the A1000 behaves, it does not like an empty disk drive, if there's no disk present, it will seek the drive periodically looking for a disk. If a disk is present, it will try to read it and mount the disk on the desktop.
TO DO:
Acquire software and utilities
Get the Pistorm working and reinstalled.
Fix that sad 1084
Upgrades?
Long Term To Do? (Don't hold me to this list at all)
Custom expansion chassis?

its so wild to me how some of the most important brands in computer history just.
dont exist anymore.
Commodore was responsible for introducing low cost computers to generations of people with it's Vic 20 and C64, and taught countless people with Commodore Pets in classrooms. Now all their assets are just names split between different businesses.
Atari brought gaming home, and some of the first 8 Bit computers as well. Now their name is just a stain on the box of Plug and Play consoles.
Compaq was responsible for the first ever IBM clones, bringing upon the dawn of the modern personal computer and at much cheaper prices than IBM. Now they're a defunct subsidiary of HP.
Tandy was huge in the 8 Bit era, and they popularized a graphics processer that was so much better than any prior graphical solution on MS-DOS computers so much that it became known as Tandy Graphics and Sound, even though it wasnt made by them. Now Radio Shack entirely is gone.
eMachines is pretty much the entire reason computers are mostly cheap now, their aggressive pricing against the market's competition forced the entire industry to cut their prices. Now all they are is a footnote in Apple documentaries about brands that copied the iMac G3.
And like, you'll never have brands like this again. There's no such thing as an "iconic" computer anymore, theyre all reskins of eachother. Commodore had the Vic 20, the C64, the 128, the Amiga, all icons. Atari had the 2600 console and the 400 and 800 computers. Tandy had the TRS 80, Color Computers. Compaq had their portable series. eMachines had the eOne. All icons in their own right, all unique, all special.
I cant think of a tech brand today that anyone would notice was gone. But these. These were special to people. And now theyre gone. Nothing remains.
[i also just realized. Commodore AMIGA. Its the commodore friend. this computer was your friend. and the box of every computer commodore made said welcome to the world of friendly computing. :( ]
