I think the complete inability a lot of women have to acknowledge that some girls actually aren’t like other girls and that’s okay

…comes from the fact that women are superego types far more often than men are.

Superego = a need for people to agree with you = collectivism and groupthink at worst, + a rabid envy of anyone who can be themselves instead of define their identity by said groupthink.

after some chats with my friend (who is a blessing from Goddess herself)… I have realized that Tumblr and typology in general has a very “ooooh this scary alien” attitude towards 8s. They can only identify 8s who are the walking meme of an obnoxious manager.

“8s are always obvious, You can’t miss this fixation” is straight up wrong! It is an excuse to not analyze the psychology of 8s as deeply as we analyze everyone else’s. Regarding the so called “obvious 8s” who look like your obnoxious, loud, bossy manager… many of these “8s” turn out to be 3s, 6s, 7s or 1s. Why? Because 8 isnt this mysterious beast for you to fear. 8 is JUST ANOTHER ARCHETYPAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL PATTERN. And you need to use actual effort to identify it!

To be honest with you I would’ve spent my whole life typing as 9 or 6 or maybe 7 if it wasn’t for watching two seasons of Stranger Things, thinking Hopper was definitely a 9 at first, but then slowly realizing he was an 8… and going “oh my god, so they were wrong. NOT all 8s are the living meme of a raging beast whose insanity you will notice at first sight!”

Type 8 is treated as this scary mysterious beast probably because the field of psychology is very superego-triad-built, and 5-built. People are scared of thinking about what it means to trust your body’s intuition so confidently and so blindly. But I have been in other, less popular typology circles and there 8 is just talked about like another type. There is no mystique and hence no coolness around this type. There’s no one demanding you to prove yourself and your level of psychopathy if you dare to identify as 8. It just is. It is another type. Like all the other types. With its strengths and weaknesses.

My 6 vs. 8 posts begin to touch on the very unpopular opinion that 6s are more powerful and more cool than 8s in a lot of walks of life. But superego types (126 types), especially 6s, don’t see their strength because they don’t seek to experience the full spectrum of reality like 8s do. Instead theyre always worrying about the monsters hiding in the dark coming to eat them. Worrying about a sense of insufficiency they feel about their (supposed) inability to explore the full spectrum of reality. they need to understand the full spectrum of reality in order to understand their strength in this reality.
