The Sea Organ🎹 or Seeorgel (Croatian: Morske orgulje) is an architectural sound art object🎶 located in Zadar, Croatia🇭🇷 and an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves🌊 and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps. The device was made by the architect Nikola Bašić as part of the project to redesign the new city coast (Zadar Nova Riva), and the site was opened to the public on 15 April 2005. The waves🌊 interact with the organ in order to create somewhat random but harmonic sounds. Aren't those sounds of nature amazing? 🤩👌 -- #Music #SoundOfNature #SeaOrgan #SeaOrganZadar #Seeorgel #MorskeOrgulje #Morskeorguljezadar #Morskeorgulje🌅🌊 #AmazingSound #AmazingSoundArt #TheOceanWaves #MusicByTheOcean #MusicOfTheOcean #WaveArt #EnchantingAdria #AdriaCroatia #CroatiaStateOfMind #CroatianArt #CroatianIngenuity #ZadarHrvatska #ZadarOldTown #ZadarCroatia❤️ #AmazingZadar #PozdravSuncu #TheGreetingToTheSun #SunsetSpot (at Morske Orgulje i Pozdrav Suncu) https://www.instagram.com/p/CA43XpBDFH8/?igshid=5zck5bwb8g7q

Exhibition purpose is to point out the existence of young, high-quality and educated artists outside the established cultural and artistic scene and serves as a platform for informing the public and the profession by their work and activities.
Mia Stark - “Traces of movement - visualization and processuality”
Graduation project Traces of movement combines two forms of artistic expression - dance and visual arts. Drawings and prints done in vernis mou technique are a product of spiritual and physical movement. In a meditative state dance moves leaves a trace on the surface. Drawings and prints are only one segment of the artistic work, it begins within a deep meditation, and to the final product comes a combination of dance and drawing. The movement, as something transient, is documented and its mark is permanent.
On exhibition at Amsterdam Whitney Gallery through August 22nd
Elegant in line and expressive in form, Croatian-American sculptor Nick Kacic-Miosic strives to infuse a complex web of cubist influence and artistic intuition into his figural sculptures. Imaginatively creative, Mr. Kacic-Miosic presents a contemporary vision of the human silhouette within a multidimensional space, pushing existing forms to surreal limits. Universal and timeless, his sculptures are created from passions of the past, attitudes of the present, and hopes for the future.
A sculptor coming from seven generations of sculptors dating back from the 13th century, Mr. Kacic-Miosic continues his family’s tradition. Sculpting in both bronze and imported stone from Croatia, the organic nature of his sculptures is reinforced by the composition of natural materials. Mr. Kacic-Miosic fashions his magnificent sculptures until he has exposed the metaphysical essence of his subjects. In his latest series “Ma Jolie Chanteuse,” or “My Beautiful Singer,” Mr. Kacic-Miosic pays tribute to his wife’s musical craft, as well as her support to his art. Passionate and fresh with vitality, Mr. Kacic-Miosic’s sculptural background provides the perfect perspective to explore the duality of past and present, memory and modernity.
Juxtaposing his artistic train of thought and its consequent effects in his sculptures, Mr. Kacic-Miosic describes the result like “liquid emotion stuck in every carving.” There is a rebellion against regulation within each piece, a world constructing itself and eschewing rules for order that rises purely from the chaos to result in sublime essence. The ambition apparent in each composition is breathtaking, ultimately contributing to a sense of awe. Architecturally and sculpturally dramatic, the sense of unity that one can derive from the beauty of Mr. Kacic-Miosic’s works is truly masterful, with the cubist influences of his sculptures bringing to mind the sculptures and paintings of Picasso. Often sculpting without preliminary clay modeling or puncturing, Mr. Kacic-Miosic’s large scale female forms integrate soft feminine curves with dramatic angles. Emphasizes the strong bodies of his artwork as a natural extension of the human form, these unpredictable elements unite to form deep expressions of beauty toward the talent and eye for aesthetics that Nick Kacic-Miosic demonstrates. Navigating the dual-powerful with his symbolic archetypal forms, his oeuvre prioritizes the abstract over realism as lines and shapes are intricately woven into memorable compositions. Sensual and surreal, Mr. Kacic-Miosic creates a working system within his art, profound and mesmerizingly far sighted in scope.
Inspired by the power of nature and his immediate relation with stone, Mr. Kacic-Miosic understands the power of story and the potential narrative within each slab of stone or marble. After studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Nick Kacic-Miosic has exhibited both nationally and internationally, receiving multiple “best of show” awards in New York, Philadelphia, and across Europe.
