I have some regrets related to my decisions but I DON’T REGRET DRAWING THIS... I need real pain meds omg.
But! @corgigem‘s delightful Gemsona, Crocidolite, arrived in game and I immediately had to draw her. What an absolute treat. I don’t draw spooky characters, and honestly, she’s very sweet, but this boogeyman reaper was just too good to resist!
For people trapped in The Lore, I already drew her adorable pearl, Butterfly, with my Chocolate bby... The symmetry tool really is my savior, wow.

Everything You Need to Know About Crystals: Tiger's Eye
Tiger's Eye (The Stone of the Sun)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Color: Golden Yellow with Brown
Hardiness: 7
Rarity: Easy to Obtain
Type: Metamorphic
Chakra Association: Sacral, Solar-Plexus, Third Eye
Deities: Ra, Sekhmet, Durga
Astrological Signs: Capricorn, Leo
Element: Earth, Fire
Planet: Sun
Origin: India, Myanmar, South Africa, USA, Mexico
Powers: The Sun, Protection, Abundance, Luck, Pride, and Justice
Crystals It Works Well With: Cat’s Eye, Chalcedony, Topaz
How It is Created: Tiger’s Eye is basically a quartz but they formed in such an unusual way that the fibers of the mineral called crocidolite are laid down in parallel bands within the structure. This creates its silk like appearance and its “cat’s eye”.
History: Tombs in the ancient city of Ur in Mesopotamia (now Iraq) dating back to 2500 BCE have yielded gold sets with agates, like tiger’s eye and carnelian. The tiger’s eye was very popular due to the belief that it harnessed the power of the earth and the sun. This is why it is associated with the god of the sun, Ra and why Egyptians considered it a very valuable gem. Roman soldiers believed that the tiger’s eye was a symbol of bravery and would ride with pieces of tiger’s eye on them in order to encourage bravery during battles.
What It Can Do:
Shields the energy field or aura from negativity
Clears tension and mental blocks from the solar plexus
Can soothe, calm, and restore one’s body and mind
Banish the evil eye and curses
Attracts money while curbing impulsive spending
Used to detect liars and deceptions
Can increase confidence and pride
Placing it on your third eye can help enhance psychic abilities and balance your lower chakras
Helps unlock and unleash your true desires
Alleviates depression and lifts moods
Reduces crabbing and addictive behavior
How To Get the Best Out of Tiger’s Eye: Wear it in bracelet or amulet form.
How to Cleanse and Charge:
To cleanse: Lay it on a windowsill where the sun shines the most or bury it in your garden where the sun shines the most
To charge: You can also charge it on the windowsill with the sun. The sun really gives it a great charge, especially if one of the deities you work with is a sun god.
Crystal Grid:
Abundance (Spiral)
Base for the grid, such as wood, slate, fossilized wood, or golden card or cloth
Citrine
Goldstone
Green Aventurine
Herkimer Diamond
Jade
Moss Agate
Ruby
Tiger’s Eye
Topaz
If you’re laying a preparatory “cleansing” spiral, start at the topmost point and lay crystals alternately, with the points pointing out from the center.
Place the Goldstone in the center as the keystone.
If laying an abundance grid, begin by placing the Goldstone in the center, stating that your intention is for it to bring abundance into your life.
Lay a spiral of alternated crystals, pointing down and inward, until you reach the Goldstone.
Add a grounding stone if appropriate.
When the grid is no longer required, dismantle it.

I've been attempting to make those character introduction sheets for my own hnk ocs and I never end up finishing them, but not this time! It even comes with flavor text.
This would take place sometime after the events of that little comic I posted about a while ago. Two other gems, Quartz and Crocidolite, are born to accompany Elbaite and Sal, and they hang out for a bit in relative peace. Elbaite ventures into the sea to find one of their friends and bring them over as well as steal some clothes, and while they leave the island unattended a meteor somehow manages to land on top of their little settlement and destroy it. oops!

I learned today that Asbestos--that well known cancer-causing substance--is actually a class of mineral!
Asbestos actually refers to six different and unique minerals: crysotile (most commonly known as white asbestos, and was commonly used in products), amosite, crocidolite, anthophyllite, tremolite and actinolite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
These minerals form very fine thread-like crystals with hooks at the ends. In most cases these can be less than .003 micrometer in diameter. That's thinner than spider silk!
Because they are so small, The hooks can penetrate cell membranes extremely easily, causing inflamation and cell damage that can eventually lead to cancer.

war deities - ares
Tumblr media
ares: greek god of war, bloodshed, & courage
"not ares, who is a god immortal, not even athene could take the edge of such masses of men and fight a way through them." - homer's illiad.
out of all the gods, ares was the most unpopular on mt. olympus due to his aggressiveness, bad temper, and constant need for conflict. additionally, ares is often featured being humiliated in some sort of way in most of his myths.
while ares is depicted as being a very selfish, bloodthirsty god, he was protective and very loyal to hera.
ares & heracles
cycnus, the son of ares & pelopia, was favored by ares due to his violent nature. he was said to slaughter any unlucky traveler he came across to use their skulls to build a temple dedicated to his father.
heracles was either ordered to kill cycnus by apollo or fought him after being challenged by cycnus himself.
upon his son's death, ares flew into a rage. he fought heracles, nearly winning until athena stepped in to protect heracles. heracles was under athena's protection for quite a while out of fear he would be killed. athena warned ares about his temper, but he refused to hear it. deimos and phobos had to help ares, leading him away from the brutal scene with nothing but a bruised ego, countless injuries, and one less child.
another version of this tale states that cycnus fought heracles with help from ares. the battle ended in a stalemate, as zeus broke up the fight with one of his thunderbolts. later on, ares confronted heracles in a later altercation over in the greek city of pylos. ares, in common theme with a lot of his myths, was gravely wounded and defeated.
the areopagus
alcippe, a daughter of ares and aglaulus, was either assaulted by or nearly assaulted by halirrhothius, a son of poseidon. ares killed halirrhothius to avenge alcippe. poseidon, angered that ares slaughtered his son, took ares and had him tried for halirrhothius' death in athens.
ares was acquitted from the murder charge (slay king). the hill he was tried on, was referred to as areopagus - meaning the hill of ares. athenians tried numerous cases on this hill due to this myth.

Blue Tiger Eye jewelry is made how?
Pseudomorphism, in which quartz replaces the mineral crocidolite while holding its strong development, is the manner in which Blue Tiger Eye jewelry is made. This change gives the stone its brand name chatoyant look, broadly insinuated as "cat's eye," wherein, dependent upon the point from which it is seen, a band of light seems to get across its surface. The iron substance of the quartz gives Blue Tiger Eye its blue tone. Blue Tiger Eye jewelry adds a sprinkle of mystery and temptation to any company, and is an entrancing choice for a wide range of individuals as a result of the stone's smooth, silken appearance and beguiling optical effect.

For plot reasons, Sanguine briefly mistook @corgigem's Crocidolite for someone she knew in the other world she went off in! On the right is the dark elf Azriel, a fallen emissary of the Goddess who still believes in Her word, and who definitely has a strange connection to the dead. As far as Sanguine's concerned, the schism between her and the church seems political, but she's out of her depth trying to understand something like that.

Red Tiger Eye Jewelry: Popularly Known As Dragon’s Eye
Popularly known as Dragon’s Eye, Red Tiger Eye received its name because of its luminescent stripes resembling the tiger’s stripes. Although it’s not rare, it is believed to be a newly discovered gem. The red tiger eye forms when the quartz stone is replaced by crocidolite (which is a blue form of asbestos). As this process happens, iron is oxidized, transforming into limonite. We can say that the red tiger eye is nothing but limonite ingrained inside a clear quartz.

Tiger Eye Jewelry An Ancient Legacy
This dark stone has been utilized for quite a long time. It was first found in ancient times, and its special earthy-colored tint has made it famous with many societies through the ages. The particular appearance of "Tiger Eye History" comes from crocidolite strands inside quartz. These minerals make light gleam off the stone in a manner that makes an eye-like pattern when seen from various points. This peculiarity gives Tiger's Eye its name and makes it one of the most alluring gemstones around. Tiger Eye is an assortment of quartz tracked down in South Africa. It has an alluring brilliant earthy colored tone and a plush radiance, looking like the eye of a tiger.

This one is from over a year ago, but I added a couple new touches to it as part of it was outdated. Anyways, it’s most of my HNK ocs as the rocks they’re made of! In order I’ve got:

Boracite + Algodonite + Magnesium
Gold beryl + Maxixe + Aquamarine
Bicolor sapphire
Stishovite + Coesite + Moldavite + Moissanite + Obsidian + Cristobalite

Rainbow lattice feldspar
Psilomelane
Pietersite + Crocidolite
Chalcopyrite + Native copper
Included diamond + Tanzanite + Bismuth + Prehnite
Jelly opal

I’ve got a problem with these... I see an interesting stone and I can’t help but make another character, I’ve got so many now!

Exploring the Various Types of Asbestos: A Comprehensive Overview
Asbestos is known to exist in six common forms: chrysotile, crocidolite, amosite, anthophyllite, tremolite, and actinolite. Each type varies in chemical composition and properties, with chrysotile being the most commonly used. Despite its historical industrial applications, asbestos has been linked to serious health risks, including lung diseases and mesothelioma, prompting strict regulations on its usage and removal. Here is my blog:https://lead-academy.org/blog/how-many-common-types-of-asbestos-are-there/
