Ever since you shared your lovely mugs with me, the thought that Ran would get them as a matching kitty set for herself and Conan, wouldn't leave me alone. So I decided to embrace the idea; for both the headcanon and the personal touch.

Originally I planned something more silly, but the soothing vibes of my first sketch were just so lovely, I went with this instead (especially since I thought you might appreciate a bit of peace).

yknow, i love kaishin/shinkai but every time i read an angsty fic (majority) my heart drops so far i feel it in my feet

i keep thinking about how people portray kaito, when to me he’s one of the loneliest possible characters with even fewer people knowing his identity because it can put them in danger. not just that but it also puts HIM in danger, just because he’s wanted by police and forces everywhere he goes— without knowing the actual reasons why. realistically his life is always in danger, more so than shinichi’s. he has the organisation targeting him, police, even detective friends and on top of that having your best friend bash KID: idk but in his position i don’t know how much he’s been through… i sometimes think he’s far more vulnerable because he has to put up more walls and façades.

one reason why i support kaishin is because shinichi doesn’t unnecessarily have a reason to catch him- knowing him he’ll want to find out more and have a proper reason to go after him. he KNOWS kaitou kid isn’t a bad person. he doesn’t know his identity or want to pursue him recklessly, and i should think kaito appreciates his detective a lot. hakuba and aoko give me mixed feelings.. i like aokaito but… i just think relationships based around honesty would be better.

i love aoko, i really do.

kaito really deserves someone who loves and understands him at his best and at his worst. his support system is much smaller than shinichi’s. to top it off, kaito is really devoted to his dad’s cause that he had to pick up OUT OF NOWHERE. that amount of burden after losing his dad, a somewhat absent mom and then finding out about jii san having to take on the mantle… i can’t imagine how much pain is repressed on his part.

in short i really love kaito kuroba as a character and adore him strongly. fics that use his phobia to attack him or to cause him heavy fear saddens me a lot. i still reinstate my point that kaito is one of the loneliest characters i’ve seen and characters that have to play an ‘antagonistic’ role in order to protect people they love and avenge their family just hits really hard

along with magic kaito’s series unlikely to ever get an ending or closure…

Kaito Kuroba deserves so much better.

Finally went and watched Zero Tea Time and like, how is this man still functioning at all??? If we're to assume that Furuya sleeps about 2 hours a night regularly, I'm sorry but this man would in no way shape or form be able to do what he does. - Sincerely, someone who has legitimately slept 3AM to 5AM regularly for several months due to having pre-existing sleep issues and a job that started at an ungodly time.

Like, yes I get that I shouldn't be thinking too deeply since anime logic, but also on this same schedule I felt like I was about to die by week 3 and was essentially a human zombie with my mental health down the sink by week 6(and technically I was sleeping more than 2 hours since I would take some naps as well) so I have some strong feelings about this. Hell, there's no way this man would be able to keep track of what time it is let alone all his jobs and secrets with that amount of sleep. Even if we go under the assumption that he sleeps 3-4 or even 4-5 hours usually and the 2 hours was a special case this man would still not be able to make all those deductions and chase all those criminals. Sure you won't feel as shit, but you definitely will still be feeling quite shit.

No wonder this man depressed and insane with a sprinkling of anger issues and seems to be constantly lowkey disassociating in Zero Tea Time. Yes most of it is because he's the only one left and is horribly traumatized but also like Furuya, have you considered taking a nap? It doesn't solve the trauma, but give yourself 8-10 hours of proper sleep and you'll be waking up ready to take on god.

As a side note, are there fics where Furuya is severely sleep deprived and how that impacts him? Because so far I haven't seen any but I also don't usually go out of my way to find Furuya centered fics. Because if there isn't I'll write one myself, not enough chronic sleep deprivation rep round here in general. Mans mother hens everyone around him, he deserves someone to mother hen him back to force him to sleep because the world will not in fact end if he takes some time off.

I don't know what is it with people and Kaitou KID, but personally, I think he's just a showoff. Sure, his magic tricks are fun to figure out for me, but all he does is steal a gem and then return it. Plus, the fact that he keeps being shipped online with Shinichi Kudo (Who is MY COUSIN and not related to me otherwise) is just gross. Shinichi does not need some cherry white, overcompensating-for-his-daddy-issues, stress inducing con-man in his life. Oh, and KID, if you are reading this, you still owe me for you know what!

Why is Conan x Kaito even a thing

As someone who has once again found herself inside the hole called KaiShin i've been obsessed with those two since yesterday again. And oh my god i love them so much.

What i don't love, however, is Conan x Kaito and i refuse to even look up their proper ship name. Yes this is another 2am rant.

So lets get this down. People ship a grade schooler, who is somewhere between 6 and 8 years old, with a 17 year old. What? Are you okay? Not only is this creepy and weird but also very illegal. "But it's the same as KaiShin" Then ship KaiShin instead?? No need to drag a child into it? See, i get that Conan is mentally 17. He literally says it at the beginning of every single episode and movie. But that is still the body of a CHILD. You are defiling CHILDREN. And dont act innocent, i know porn of this exists because of course it does. I've been scrolling past a few things that makes me want to bleach my eyes when looking for KaiShin things.

Please for the love of god don't turn Kaito into a pedophile. And don't defend this ship. This has nothing to do with "Don't like don't read" kinda stuff.

See, i don't mind Kaito and Shinichi falling for eachother while Shinichi is still Conan. Kaito has a personality to fall for and he knows Shinichi's appearance well, having disguised himself as him countless times. But PLEASE don't make them act and start a relationship until Shinichi is back in his adult body. I don't mind them being close friends until then and talk about stuff openly but everything from declarations of love to kissing to sex should stay within their adult bodies please. It's not that complicated. If you for the hell of it can't see Shinichi getting his adult body back then please let Conan and Kaito stay in either a close friendship or as a brotherly love kind of thing without making it romantic.

This is the SebaCiel issue all over again where you take a child and make them date a man WAY older and it's creepy and disturbing. Staying with the SebaCiel example, Ciel is a 13/14 year old child, meanwhile Sebastian is a demon god-knows how many thousands of years old who took on an appearance similar to Ciel's father in order to gain his trust quicker and manipulate him more easily. And this is the most popular ship in the entire Black Butler community. See, i don't mind them being close, considering how Sebastian is Ciel's only security, but they don't need to bang and kiss. Come ON.

Conclusion/TL:DR:

Please stop shipping children with adults. This is creepy, very illegal and just plain disturbing. If you like KaiShin, please stick with the version where both are the same age. Why ship pedophilia when you have literally the same ship right there just in legal?

Okaaaay. Just to clear things up...

Vermouth is not a redeemable character. She's not. She has done some atrocious and horrible things. Everyone knows that. She's an antagonist at her core and anyone who disagrees is basically in denial.

But.

That doesn't mean I can't like her character. She's interesting and actually complex. She's a grey character that does bad things but the has moments where she does things that make you think. She basically has two weaknesses and they are Shinichi and Ran. They are the light and hope she had completely lost and given up on after so long being part of the organization. She wants them to win. She wants Shinichi to put an end to the organization. She believes wholeheartedly that Shinichi is needed for that to happen. She said it in the episode of Akai's "death" ("We only need one silver bullet"). She has let both of them live in multiple occasions and kept them safe. Why? Does she just want to protect them because they represent so much to her? Does she protect them because she actually wants to be rid of the organization that has made her do so many terrible things? Does she want to protect them because they are dear to her one and only friend Yukiko? So many factors.

She is an actually interesting character. I love every scene she's in. She needs to appear more. But that does not make me think she's good and should be free and happy at the end.

I am one firm believer that she will be one of the few deaths that we can expect during the final showdown against the organization. I will stay on that hill and I will be shocked if she makes it out alive. She will die sacrificing herself. That's what I think. But that doesn't make her a good person entirely either.

Char Bingo - Ran?

I want to like her so bad, and in a lot of ways I do. BUT, from what little I've seen of the show overall, she's the one who's gotten the least character development of the main three. Even Richard has changed more than she has, because every major change she should've had gets dialed back. (Finding out Conan is Jimmy being the biggest, most obvious one.)

Rachel is such a cool character that deserves so, so much better. I'm definitely one of those people that rolls my eyes whenever she's reduced to standing off to the side and wishing Jimmy was here. Peak Rachel, to me, is that moment in one of the movies when she's being held at gunpoint, thinks through if she's fast enough to dodge a bullet, decides she is, and then just does it. Or when she donates blood in Desperate Revival. I like it when she gets to be confident on her own merits to protect the people she cares about, without thinking about Jimmy all the time.

Of course it makes sense for her to worry about him, but to a point, after all this time, all these lies and all of Jimmy blowing her off, her relationship and feelings towards Jimmy at least deserve to change. Not just always be stuck in the same place.

Sidenote: One of my friends and I were talking about how Rachel and Richard are exactly alike, and they said "Jimmy is Rachel's Yoko Okino," and my life has never been the same since

And here I thought Conan having two phones was weird... Yet, here I am, with two phones -.- Long story short, American and European network use a different technology. Which is in fact not a problem anymore. At all. Because modern phones are designed to work with both networks. Modern as in not 5 year old phones :/

But the dumbass that I am loves small phones, so my phone is too old to work on both networks (had it been made 3 month later, we wouldn’t have that problem) - meaning I had to get a new one. The new one isn’t a dual sim phone, but I need a European and American sim cards for reasons (aka the government and data). So, yeah, two phones O.O

So in fact, Conan having two phones is not surprising since he supposedly comes from the US. He could pretend one is the one he has for Japan (more convenient), and the other is for the US (when it’s in fact his phone as Shinichi). Since Shinichi’s plan is basically to have him go “back to the US” when he gets his body back, his Japanese plan is temporary and having two phones is too.

Now, the suspicious part is the fact that he has the same phone. The exact same one :/ Pretending Shinichi got his phone not long before being turn into Conan, he could have bought the same, sure. But why would he do that??? I mean, there are a couple of reasons, but still it would have been better to have a different model. I mean, obviously a dual-sim is out of the question (need to keep the texts and calls separated), but at least don’t buy the exact same model!

Great detective? Maybe. Legendary dumbass? Definitely!
