Part 2 of my DCST Time Travel Snippets

"Lemme get this straight. To stop this impending doom, you want us to build a spaceship that will take a small crew just past the Moon. Where they will then negotiate with parasitic alien robots and convince them that humanity is stupid and not worth being frozen into stone." Markus, one of the oldest scientists at NASA, surmised. He sounded incredibly tired.

Everything the people from the future told them was tiring.

"Pretty much." Dr Xeno from the future said, "It's a big ask, I realize. And a lot of lives depend on it."

"Who would we trust with such a mission, though?" Another NASA scientist asked, "There's a lot of factors to take into account. Personality, and training, and there's not enough time to conduct proper astronaut qualification exams for the wider public."

"Good point." Dr Xeno allowed.

"Ah, how about you get your version of the Five Wise Generals to go?" Brody, the future's top mechanic laughed, "They'll all be little babies now, so we'll knock off a couple hundred kilograms from the weight limit."

"I don't think we can have infants piloting a rocket and saving humanity." One of their current day scientists sighed. It was weird to think that a group of people called the Five Wise Generals were currently babies.

"No, no, you misunderstand. They should be fifteen at the youngest. Twenty four at the oldest." Xeno clarified, "And one of them won't exist until thirty seven hundred years, so right now, it's more like the Four Wise Generals. But I agree with Dr. Brody, except for my Stan, there's no one I'd recommend more. Byakuya Ishigami's an option, but I also don't trust him enough to not launch into a passionate speech about all the good humanity has done."

Byakuya Ishigami. He was a newbie astronaut, just inducted into the program. Normally, such love for humankind was admirable but...

"Brief us on these Generals." He decided. Just to have that option.

First was Senku Ishigami, the man who had made the first phonecall to the past. The son of Byakuya Ishigami. So far, they had avoided looking up the kid in the modern world.

Currently, he was fifteen years old, and a high school student. With a criminal record of setting off bombs in public parks.

"Oh, yeah. He likes making rockets." Xeno from current day confirmed blandly, "I had no idea he was setting them off in parks."

He was definitely lying.

"But you'll let me go to space without me having to build my own rocket, right?" A high-pitched voice asked. A boy with the wildest hair was suddenly standing in the control room.

"How'd you get in here?!"

"Xeno and my dad kept me updated on the situation here." He picked at his ear, "I couldn't care a millimeter less about the situation here now that we've figured out the secret behind the stone swallows. I just want to go to space. As soon as possible."

He vibrated slightly as he spoke, clearly excited, but hiding it well.

Second on the list, Asagiri Gen.

Nineteen years old, and a... moderately famous stage magician.

"Doesn't look like he has the muscle for a space trip."

"What good's a mentalist? We can drill anyone into saying things."

And so, Asagiri Gen was overlooked.

Somewhere in the world, a magician with two-toned hair was very offended.

Next was Ryusui Nanami, one of the Nanami Conglomerate's CEO's brood. A bit of a disgraced one, because of a dramatic love affair, but given the same allowance that any of the others got.

At 20 years of age, he had the biggest and most diverse collection of sailboats in the world. The kid was a dedicated adventurer, with all the health that came from it.

They could use that.

"Ryusui Nanami." An escort of suited officials approached him on a beach.

He looked up over the frame of his sunglasses, taking them in. He grinned, "Aw, man, they're really going to assassinate me this time, huh?"

"No, we're from NASA. How would you like to visit the final frontier?"

He snapped his fingers, laughing, "Name your price!"

"Saionji Ukyo, you've been transferred last minute."

"Eh???" He looked at his CO in confusion.

"It's a matter of international security."

Did they think he'd overheard something? Oh God, he'd known his crazy hearing would get him killed one day.

"You'll be working with an American strike team. Full debriefing back at the base. For now, prepare yourself to meet Commander Stanley Snyder."

What was going on???

It's like I can almost hear them

I am very rusty with Dr. Stone, but I’m rewatching the anime, and this little thought kept lingering in my head. Thought I’d actually feed the dcst fans still lingering~

Once the village was pieced back together, the air’s fresh scent was overtaken by the smell of booze and the symphony of celebration. Which, was appropriate, after the ‘primitive’ villagers had purified their homes of the demon called Hyoga. A feat that even had an honest smile spread across Gen Asagiri’s face.

However, even as the air was lively, the mentalist noticed a distinct lack of vegetables amongst the bodies in the clearing. So, he hummed, and meandered away from the joyous atmosphere to the more serene, quiet one of the kingdom of science’s capitol. And, sure enough, he found him in the solitude of the clearing with the winds to bring the sounds of joy to him.

Sat at the back of their small laboratory, his head leaned back against the wall, his cherry-colored eyes closed as if he was asleep. However, Gen could tell that he was awake amongst the walls of glass. “Why aren’t you partying with the others? We chased off Hyoga, bought ourselves some more time, you should be bursting like a pinata with pride and relief.” The mentalist asked from the doorway of the workshop, but Senku only sat in the quiet for a long moment. The bird song Gen’s reply.

But, when he did finally speak, he sounded tired...almost sad. “Y’know, from this distance, if I just sit here, I can almost imagine the sounds of the villagers are the astronauts.”

Ah. “huh, what an odd thing to chew on.” He chuckled as he stepped into the building, “Though…” He paused for a second and listened to the distant laughs and songs that drifted over on the winds. “I suppose you’re right. I guess, in a way, it’s also true. Since they’re the descendants of those six.”

All senku did at that point was snort, his head lifted from the wall to look at him. “You say that like it’s supposed to be comforting. The hell are you getting at, mentalist?” Which, only got a shrug from the purple-clad man, “I dunno~ I’m just thinking back to what Ruri said. In a way, those goofy, seemingly-primitive villagers are the last remaining astronauts” He shrugged while the scientist got to his feet and ran a hand through his gravity-defying hair with a shake of his head. Likely full aware of Gen’s true meaning, but Senku Ishigami wasn’t the type to discuss such emotional topics. “Let’s just get back to the others. Before one of the village drunkards finds me and drags me there.” he said, his mindless musing dropped like a hot rock as the old magician followed him back out into the sunlight.

I have been procrastinating this for like, what has got to be almost 2 weeks, HOWEVER, I have went so far down the rabbit hole of dr stone animations that I came upon a thing called Gorgontown and have just been going slowly insane

Adoptive Parents and general good family relationships !!

i was thinking about how both One Piece and Dr Stone have a big focus on friendships and building communities in general but both also have a lot of found families and characters that have been adopted and i have such a soft spot for that and well for good parents and childs relationships

like Senku with Byakuya <3 the father and son relationship of these two have a special place in my heart !

i loved reading about Senku's memories about his dad, how both of them thought about each other and it will always hurt me so much that Senku could no longer see his dad or you know revive him but at the same time that helped Senku and everyone else in the future

as for One Piece most of the main cast were adopted because they either lost all of their family or their biological families were .. horrible

two One Piece families that i always think about are Nami's and Sanji's bc in both an adult ( Bellemere and Zeff ) found random some children, they took them with them, gave them the best life they could give them and made so much sacrifices for said children ( Zeff losing his leg and Bellemere's case her loosing her life :( ) and AAAA i can't think about them too much bc it hurts me AAA

asdkjshfkjs i just noticed that in both OP and DCST really good parents died and that both have many characters that lost everything 😭💔 well i guess that's the life of pirates and "post apocaliptic survivors" huh ?

6. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

the fact that Suika is basically Senku's apprentice and that she was the one that was assigned with the task of reviving her friends and she spent SO MANY YEARS alone trying to revive them 🥺 Suika my beloved watermelon child you are so smart <3 aaah btw Suika's reunion with Kohaku almost made me cry and it is one of my favorite dcst moments 😭 ( also i wanna add that i love Suika so much, i would fight for her i would die for her and if Suika has an enemy i'm gonna punch them in the face and i'm gonna defend that tiny watermelon at any cost )

Hi! Dr. Stone's Next Gen and Delayed Lions for tag meme please 👀?

The main story for Next Gen is actually titled Yurika: Life of Discovery, and it stars Taiju and Yuzuriha's third child Yurika, who has a sharp and curious mind for science like Senku does. I don't have much written for it right now, but the gist of it is sort of a slice of life about growing up in a reconstructed world and the baggage of having really famous people as family members. Delayed Lions is just what I originally called the document for my fanfiction When The Lions Were Late, which currently has seven chapters posted on my ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/31470254

The summary is basically that Yuzuriha was revived instead of Tsukasa since the lions attacked them a day later, and so instead of Tsukasa and the Stone Wars, it's more just a story about Senku rebuilding modern civilization, reviving classmates and scientists to help him along the way. This happened because I LOVE the parts of Dr. Stone where it's just them building and reinventing stuff so I was like "what if I just wrote a fic that was almost entirely that." My love of colony simulation type games might have something to do with this.

Senku and company use honey multiple times in the series (also beeswax), but we never see them harvesting it. So now I really want to see a bonus scene where the gang domesticates bees, or like, art of Senku wearing a beekeeper outfit.

also another sidenote, i am like positive that the whole senku being adopted thing was not planned by inagaki and just added in in the last second just to make 100% sure endgame kohasen isn't weird (like, it's never mentioned until its absolutely necesarry, and senku and byakuya's facial features look way too similar gsgdha like they're actually designed to look like father and son) BUT nevertheless, in the end i really love how they handled the theme of adoption in drst, that scene where senku is like "i never asked byakuya about my birth parents because those things just don't matter" and gen says "yeah, they don't matter at all" that fucking gets me o(-( like there's so many stories about adopted or foster kids being so obsessed with knowing who their birth parents are that it's so nice and refreshing to see a story where a kid is like "yeah i'm adopted, but this is my dad and he loves me and thats all that matters" MAN IT'S SO WHOLESOME

Recently I've been seeing talk about dcst character birthdays and it got me thinking about what kind of gift Senkuu could give Gen. Cuz an observatory is a pretty huge gift. Even if it was a community effort, it was a pretty ambitious idea.

So thinking along the lines of "something that can be used" and "something that is special to the person," and fitting the level of the construction of an observatory, I thought a theater or a stage would fit perfectly for Gen. Ishigami village doesn't have one of those yet, they have the priestess hut on an elevated mound with a couple of open spaces for speeches and the like but they don't have a proper stage. I kind of want it to be a whole building so that Gen would get his own space but I like the idea of an open air theater too. Maybe it can be nearby/connected to the department store? For easier access to costumes. Then it'll be like a strip mall type of area.

Thinking of a sequel for Fairy and the Angel.

There's a bunch of storylines I'd like to tackle, like a meeting between canon and fanfic Yuri, and an Assassination Classroom crossover. But the one I'm focusing on rn is a crossover with Dr. Stone, bc the newest season gave me a burst of inspiration.

There's a lot of potential bc of the theology I set up in F&A which means that every god is reliant on people's Belief. When there are no people to believe, all the gods and monsters die, leaving behind all the non-sentient forces without leaders. Not just physical domains like ice or water or air, but also abstract concepts like the Sleep (iykyk) and luck and supernatural things like magic.

I'm excited to build on this and tackle the science-focused themes of dcst compared to pjo's obviously theological background. This post is more gushing about the world building potential and thematical elements, but I swear I'm rlly excited about the character interactions and relationship possibilities and it's. All. Just. So. Good.
